Rayne looked about the various buildings of different sizes and styles. The place had a very unique look about it. The young woman was nearly in awe. She'd never seen a place like it before! She felt the excitement at exploring it swelling within; her stomach nearly nothing but butterflies. The woman darted forth from the alley she appeared in, out into the streets filled with people. She remained wary of males, but otherwise kept herself in awe at the city. It seemed to be glowing... Her forest green eyes shot from place to place, taking it all in. It had been a long time since she stopped in a place with PEOPLE in it!
Rayne stopped at several shops, window shopping, and generally having a grand time. It was truly a wonderful town. What made it even better though was that Zeromus had actually decided to keep his mouth shut, so Rayne wasn't immediately chased out of town. "This place is wonderful~" Rayne stated to herself, marveling at all of the sites she had seen. She even got to see a strange old man in blue robes, who seemed nice enough. Eventually, Rayne found herself a bit lost in the town, and her stomach began to growl. Noting that they were alone, Zeromus elected to speak, sounding aggravated and confused. "Do you humans ever stop eating? This is the seven-hundred-sixty-sixth day in a row that you've stopped to eat." Came the Lucavi's typical human hate. "Hey, just because I'm not a Demon---" Rayne began, though stopping herself as she remember their agreement. "Hey, you aren't supposed to speak when we're in towns!" Rayne barked, clenching her fists and staring at her stomach. That was the closest she could get to actually staring at the Lucavi...
Rayne looked about her surroundings after a moment, trying to spot out something that looked at all like a food-related store. She was already beginning to feel somewhat weak from hunger. After Rayne couldn't see anything clearly in front of her, she set one foot before the other with haste, attempting to spot one out. As she ran through the city, she was eventually stopped; not by her sight, but by her nose. She smelled something very sweet...a delectable aroma. Rayne followed it like a hound, tracking it to a small shop. "Child, would you eat something decent, for once? I don't like my stone being covered in garbage." The Lucavi growled. It was also to Rayne's benefit that she eats better, but Zeromus would never admit he was concerned about something like that. "Hey, be quiet. If you talk in here, we'll be in real trouble!" Rayne responded, her voice flustered. She'd give Zeromus hell if he messed this up for her...She wanted to try the food, damnit! Rayne hastily stepped inside with a large grin on her face. This was sure to be an adventure for her senses!

It was early enough in the day where Antique had few to no customers--early enough in the day that Antique could check An Elegant World for anything she forgot to clean the night before. She had already been up for hours in any case, preparing today's fresh batch of bread. The smell still wafted around the small store/café, like something familiar. Deciding that there really was not much more that she could clean, she skipped on over to the displays, to make sure that everything looked peachy-keen--everything seemed in order. She hoped that her sales were high today...and it wasn't as if they were bad, though she would have liked to be able to maybe hire some part timers. Ever since she could remember, Antique had pretty much ran this shop by herself and her mother. A part timer, after being properly trained, would give Antique time to take on a hobby or so! Or maybe, even, to travel! Going on adventures sure sounded like fun...
The bell rang above the door, causing the girl to jump from looking at her product, banging her head against the glass.
"O-owie..." she sobbed, but shook her green locks back and forth, and ran to the door with a bit of a dazed, but still brilliant smile. Dusting her hands on a bright frilly yellow apron over an obviously red oriental dress, she grinned.
"Welcome, Master! How can I help you today?" she beamed, but then blinked when she realized this potential customer was actually female. Antique vi Frelia blushed bright red, and smiled, "I mean, M-mistress!"
It was not too often that she got female customers. Though she couldn't quite understand exactly why.

As she entered, a bell rang above her head, the blonde woman glancing up at it curiously. Who'd have thought of putting a bell on the door to alert customers! The person in charge must be a genius... Rayne thought. Speaking of, a thudding sound pulled Rayne's attention from the bell and toward the shelves with the baked goods. A little green-haired girl bumped her head in there, Rayne stifling a chuckle at how cute it was.
As the girl rushed over, Rayne watched her curiously. She was very bubbly, that was for sure. Rayne's ever-present partner simply sighed inwardly at the display. As the girl reached Rayne, she beamed and spoke up, calling Rayne 'Master,' which confused the blonde woman greatly. Master? Rayne questioned inwardly. She didn't like that at all. The girl then attempted to correct herself with a blush, calling her 'Mistress' instead. Rayne shifted her weight from foot to foot a bit awkwardly. "Um, you can just call me Rayne...umm..." The woman began, looking the bubbly shop attendant over. Rayne felt lucky that it had been a girl in the shop, rather than a man... "So, what's your name?" Rayne asked curiously, toying with the bottoms of her own dress absently. This girl was adorable! Rayne felt the urge to simply pick her up and snuggle her like a kitten.

Here was this incredibly beautiful person in front of her, and Antique had to go and make a fool of herself! Like, some blonde haired angel from fairy-tales that she read so much about as a child! Sure, her imagination might have been going a teensy-tiny bit overboard, but it didn't seem like it was too far from the truth. Antique failed to see that the customer was observing her, and, lost in her daydream, was snapped back to reality when dialogue pursued.
"Um, you can just call me Rayne...umm..."
Antique blinked, looking a bit confused. Why on earth would she--OH!
"Ah! I'm sorry, Miss Rayne, right? Here, let's get you a seat, okay? I-I--ah, um, didn't mean to be rude!"
The little green haired girl grabbed Rayne's wrist gently and led her over to a bar top with stools. The store front looked like it could have been a tavern at some point in the past, though now it was decorated with multiple cute things like cakes and such.
"My name? Oh, it's Antique! Nice to meet you!" she said, as she hopped behind the counter. "What can I get you? Everything was made fresh!"
Her eyes scanned back toward the door. She could have swore that someone had came in at the same time that Rayne had. That was strange. Usually her customer-senses were spot on. Oh well. She didn't see anything, so it must have just been from being bored all morning...

It was rather cute, so Rayne decided to leave her be until she was done, simply watching her in slight amusement. After she'd finished---or was interrupted, perhaps, the girl quickly snatched up Rayne's wrist gently and dragged her off. "Oh, you weren't rude!" Rayne informed her reassuringly, taking a seat at the counter as she did so. "You just seemed really cute, I didn't want to disturb you!" The young woman said with a teasing giggle.
The young girl Rayne had taken such an interest in introduced herself as she moved behind the counter. "Antique?" Rayne asked, trying to make sure she got the name right. It was certainly unique, much like the girl. "It's a very nice name."
Antique had asked Rayne a very difficult question, though... Truthfully, Rayne wasn't picky, but she wasn't quite sure what to answer with. Though, she could never go wrong with quantity. "Um, can I get some of everything?" Rayne asked, smiling with a blush, before she noticed Antique's attention toward the door. The blonde shifted her eyes to the door as well, before turning them back to Antique. "Is something the matter?" She asked, slight concern showing. Was Antique waiting for someone? .....A boyfriend, perhaps? She felt herself tense at the thought.

A little bit of...everything? Antique blinked a bit in confusion for a moment before completely registering what the girl was asking for. The green haired girl opened up the glass behind all of the pastries after she laid a large plate in front of Rayne. It was not very often that she got customers that ate so much! Buzzing around the counters, she soon began to pile a lot of different pastries on the girl's plate. Everything from cake slices, to stuffed buns with steaming meat to cookies to lava cake--when Antique heard "everything" she was going to deliver!
After her performance of layering things on the plate, Antique stood there, looking proud of what she had done, and took out some cute looking china with cat paws painted on them, and poured a steaming clear liquid into it.
"Is something the matter?"
Antique blinked and smiled at her customer, "Oh, no! Nothing's the matter at all! I could have just swore that someone came in with you is all," she said, pointed her finger, and winked. "C-call it uhm...you know...baker's intuition!"
She gazed over at the entrance of the bakery. "But you know, it fails sometimes," she said, and laughed lightly. "Must be the bread fumes!"

Technically, she was right...someone had come with her. Or something, anyway. As the young girl finished, Rayne looked in awe at her large plate. "Oh, this all looks fantastic!" Rayne commented as her forest green eyes took it all in. They moved from product to product; Rayne instantly trying to decide what to eat first. The young woman was so excited she had leaned forward on her seat absently, almost taking it up on two legs. It took a few moments of awe at her food, before Rayne registered what Antique had said in reply to her earlier.
Baker's intuition? Sounds delicious, whatever it is. Rayne's mind moved to food immediately, as per usual, as she was almost always hungry. Although the blonde wasn't sure what...'bread fumes' were exactly. Or whether bread was supposed to have fumes, for that matter! "Thank you for the food!!" Rayne exclaimed excitedly as she rolled each of her unattached sleeves up a bit, quickly sticking her hand into a piece of cake after finishing. The woman shoveled it into her mouth, seemingly without care. However, Rayne could tell this was made with a lot of love, and it truly showed. She continued to shovel more into her mouth, before noticing the clear, warm liquid. "What is that?" Rayne asked, pointing to it as her mouth was still full of food.
It was just then, something had occurred to Rayne. D-Damn, I forgot I don't have any money! Rayne's expression immediately shifted to one of nervousness. This was NOT going to be good... Would she be chased away again, as 'Rayne the Demon'? The woman continued to eat absently, trying to think of a way to get out of this mess now. She didn't want to simply run out and refuse to pay, as she had before...not with such a cute young girl waiting for the money. But how could she pay for it?! "If...hypothetically speaking...I had no money to pay with," Rayne began, shifting nervously in her seat, not quite able to look Antique directly in her eyes. "Would you let me work it off instead?"

Antique leaned across the counter with her cheeks in the palms of her hands, smiling. She was very glad that Rayne was enjoying the food! The ruby-eyed girl was not good at a lot of things, but cooking was probably her one and only talent. So seeing someone so happy with something that she was doing always brought her so much immense joy. It was the reason she had cooked so much even though her mother was a terrible baker, and why she had continued to bake after all of this time. She wished she were good at other things, really, but for the moment, seeing Rayne eating her food with such ferocity, brought her joy at the moment.
Antique blinked in confusion as Rayne asked about not being able to pay. Well--wasn't that an odd question?
She studied the girl's body language. Not making eye contact? Definite red flag!
"Oh...oh dear!" she said, though she carefully trained her face not to look too despaired. "It would be a terrible situation..." she said, tapping her chin, looking up at the ceiling thoughtfully. She leaned up against the counter, looking right at Rayne. "I suppose having someone work off their debt is a fair thing to do," she said, and put her hands on her hips. "Though don't tell everyone--otherwise I'd never be able to make a profit!" she said and winked.

You honestly intend to waste time paying off a debt like this?" Came a booming, annoyed, demonic voice, cutting Rayne's thoughts off at their source. The girl's eyes widened for a moment, before she took a deep breath. It was just one person that heard it, right? She could play it off! There's no way the girl could figure out what was up on her own... Rayne nervously brought her eyes down on Antique, inwardly panicking, but remaining rather calm on the outside, and pretending nothing happened. "So, you'll let me work my debt off?" Rayne asked, shifting the subject away from the debacle a moment ago.
To further distract her, Rayne looked to the clear water, poking her finger into it. Yowch! Rayne jolted her finger back out, instinctively sticking it in her mouth, and leaning back on her seat. That water was really hot... WHAT WAS IT?! Rayne mumbled a quiet 'owie' as she continued to childishly try and suck the pain out of her finger.

Antique froze when she heard the male voice, and swiveled her head from left to right. She was sure she had thought someone else had come into the shoppe with Rayne, and now that she heard the voice, it had just confirmed her thoughts. But...but where was he? Standing on her tippy toes and cupping her eyes with a straightened hand, she searched for where the voice was from. Being as short as she was not much help, so she made sure to peek underneath the counter, and push the door back into the kitchen open as well to look.
She looked at Rayne for clues but did not get any initially. Quirking a confused eyebrow, she made a note to see if she could budget security cameras.
"I...uh...s-sure! I mean, it's a lot of work, and you'll have to wear a uniform, but y-yes you can work it off!" she stuttered, looking around for the source of the voice still. That was so utterly strange! Her face paled. What if the Heartless had learned how to speak? Her ruby eyes eyed the shadows around the shoppe--what if they were in here, just hiding?
Antique jumped when Rayne made a sudden movement, and looked down to the tea. "O-o-oh my! Why would you stick your finger in tea?" she said and jumped over the counter with odd agility and grabbed her wrist, dragging her into the kitchen. Immediately she turned on the cold water and held her hand under it.

She'd clearly heard Rayne's 'friend,' but obviously had no idea what it was. Rayne was inwardly relieved, feeling as if she were in the clear, at least for the moment, before Antique hastily dragged her off by the wrist and into the kitchen. Antique had mentioned what the substance was, so at least Rayne had an answer for her trouble. However, when Antique steered her hand under the water, Rayne gave her hand a gentle tap; once, twice, three times. With a gentle nod, Rayne spoke to the girl. "Thank you, but I have it now." She said softly, giving Antique a smile of gratitude.
After a few moments of holding her finger under the water, Rayne pulled it out and rubbed it dry on her dress. "Um, so, what's this uniform I'm supposed to wear actually look like?" Rayne asked with a curious tilt of her head. She hoped it was pretty, at least... Though, now that she thought about it, how much did she owe, exactly? How long would she be working here? Her mind wandered aimlessly.

Antique looked at Rayne in a concerned way. She hated seeing people hurt, especially when it was her fault! Though...she seemed to be doing fine now. Pouting up at the blonde, she sighed. "Are you sure you're okay...? she asked as she turned off the cold water. She made a quick mental note to start serving cold tea instead of hot tea...
"Oh! The uniform?" Antique perked up, and gestured at herself. "The same one I'm wearing, of course!" she beamed, pointing at the rather short red oriental dress that was covered up by a frilly yellow apron. None of this even seemed remotely inappropriate on the girl, especially since she had a rather tiny build and was naturally short. Her green hair perked up as if they were animalistic ears as she gave herself a twirl.
"D'ya like it? My mother insisted I wear it when we first opened up the bakery all those years ago!"
Apparently her mother also wore something like this too. Which, if Antique knew any better, would have explained just why most of her bakery's customers were male...

The blonde gave her a gently pat on the head and smiled. "I'm fine. You're very sweet to worry so much, Antique." Rayne said with a nod.
At her inquiry about the uniform, Antique explained that she was wearing it, twirling around and acting as bubbly as she always did. Rayne couldn't help thinking about how adorable the little green-haired girl was. Though, the outfit might be a bit less cute on Rayne...and a lot more provocative. But it was the debt she owed, so she would suffer through it! "Alright... Where's mine?" Rayne submitted, before asking about her own uniform.
As Rayne had finished asking, her ever-present partner once again spoke up, even angrier and more aggressive than before. His voice boomed, rattling the kitchen somewhat. "Child, you've had enough fun!" The voice yelled. "As your companion, I demand we move on. Now!" As the Lucavi finished his demands, Rayne put her hands up toward Antique, shaking her head from side to side. "Wh-Whatever you do, don't freak out...!" The girl pleaded, her tone a bit desperate. "He's just my very cranky friend...whom you can't see..."

Antique bounced in an excited manner when Rayne asked about a uniform. "I should have a spare somewhere in the apartment!"she said as she twirled around, pivoting in the direction of the very back of the restaurant, where her living quarters were. It was just as she was pivoting on her red heels that she heard it again--
That voice!
It had to be a Heartless! A speaking Heartless!
Not really even listening to Rayne speak in defense of the voice, Antique acted purely on instinct. She wouldn't let the shadow-voice melt into the shadows again! If she could only somehow mark it--Her ruby eyes landed right on a bag of powdered sugar. Perfect! Her hands reached for the large plastic bag and she ripped it open and tossed the contents of the bag right at Rayne, because that was where the voice originated.
As the powdery white sugar, like snow started to settle, Antique squeaked, not necessarily happy to know her bakery had talking Heartless in it--"I-I got you! Y-You're not going to get away!"

As she made the mistake of holding her mouth open when it hit, she got a thorough taste of what had to be powdered sugar! Rayne dusted herself off for a moment, at first, flustered. But after a brief instant, the girl smiled; her face covered in the white powder. "That was just my disembodied friend..." She explained, for snatching a bag of flour from the nearest counter, ripping it open, and sending it sailing back at Antique. "And this is my vengeance, you sweet little munchkin!" Rayne roared with a playful vigor.
Not long after throwing the first one, Rayne immediately moved for another. If Antique wanted a war, Rayne would gladly supply one! She was having more fun than she had in quite some time! And this would provide her with a decent duty to distract her while she worked off her debt, too. So she felt it was a win-win as she smiled, laughed, and pelted her new friend with flour and powdered sugar.
