OOC: Ugh I can't believe I forgot to mention the apple in the previous post... >.<! Oh well I suppose I'll just have to make due with one XD!
IC: And so the match continued, Aya's plan being marginally successful even if it did put her in a bit of a risky position with the fruit balls. She wasn't too concerned though for the simple result of the two fruits colliding would have limited their momentum quite a bit as it was. That being the case, they wouldn't be moving nearly as fast as they were when they had been shot and would increase the likelihood of them stopping before they reached her goal. Whatever the case there was still the more pressing matter to deal with in that of Tidus' inevitable retaliation, the blonde vixen sure that he wasn't going to let up anytime soon.
This much was proven true for the Watermelon that had come back at him was once again sent her way or rather toward her goal. Not only was that sent her way but also another apple aimed in a curve towards her goal thus limiting her options in how to defend. She currently had only one apple on her side of the field not including the ones that could have bounced in her goal or had come to a stop behind her. Thus her earlier tactic wouldn't work and to do so again would be akin to gambling on a runner runner straight draw in Texas Holdem. No, the blonde wouldn't leave everything up to chance and thus would at least block the easier of the two shots made, the straight shot towards her goal.
That being noted, she would quickly spring into action ignoring the apple and going straight for the Watermelon, the bigger and therefore easier to stop fruit ball. Her split second decision would lead her to intercept it with her baton, stopping it only a few feet away from her goal. With the watermelon now on her side of the field, Aya would push it in the direction of the apple on her side of the field, the green fruit rolling over towards it. Following behind it in an attempt to make use of the large fruit as a blind spot for Tidus, Aya would wait for the watermelon to roll within five feet of the apple that had only recently been put on her side of the field. When it arrived at the spot where she wished, the former officer would mimic her opening move and send a powerful Curve toward Tidus' goal and then began to reply to Tidus' comments.
"Well to be fair you threw a giant apple at my face first... plus aren't men supposed to be chivalrous and never hurt a lady?" she would respond, her tone having a bit of a "smart-aleck" flair to it as she immediately moved to make another attack. Indeed, as the Curve made it's rapid approach toward Tidus' goal, she would then Bump the apple nearby into the air before spiking it toward Tidus' goal. Much like Tidus had done to her, this would put the Blitzball player in a bit of a bind with two fruit balls approaching his goal in different directions. Best case scenario, the blonde vixen would score with both as they were timed such that they would get to the goal about a second or so after the other. Worst case scenario, Tidus would figure out a way to block both the fruits but Aya didn't bank on that possibility very much. In fact, the only way he might be able to pull that off short of insane speed would be to use the strategy she had earlier and hit the fruit with other fruit yet this would be far more dangerous in his court. Indeed, if he used his own fruits to try and veer Aya's attacks off course, he would run the risk of bouncing the fruits about and still in his goal IN ADDITION to having them collide with the two pineapples on his field. If that happened and they stunned him as a result that would leave him in one hell of a disadvantageous position as he had experienced before. It was a sound counter to his offense in Aya's mind but she was ready to accept the result whatever it was as well as finish her earlier thought.
"And I don't plan to block your shots forever, I plan to win," she declared with quite a bit of confidence although not in a exceedingly arrogant way. After all, while she was playing seriously this game in the end wasn't a life or death situation that she couldn't afford to lose. She wanted to have fun with it and with her opponent so a bit of cocky bravado was always a good way to lighten things up.
