The Fruits - Effects
Bananas: If hit twice, they turn into 5 banana peels. If bumped even once they turn into peels as well. If stepped on, they stun the played for 1 post. [RGN | 1 or 2]
Grapes: After they are hit three times, the grapes separate from the vine and break off. Each individual grape can score a goal and count as their own individual fruit with no effect. [RGN | 3 or 4]
Watermelons: If hit, there is a 50% chance you will be stunned for 1 post. This will be determined by your randomly generated number. Odd - Stunned | Even - Unaffected [RGN | 5 or 6]
Pineapples: You will be stunned/dazed for 1 post you if you are hit. [RGN | 7 or 8]
Apples: No Effect [RGN | 9 or 10]
Movements | Abilities
Similar to raids, you can only use two actions per post. However, because you are playing fruitball you must use the following moves to hit the fruits.
Bump - This allows you to jump into the air after knocking the fruit up to pursue it before spiking the fruit toward the opponents side of the field.
Curve - You swing your weapon at the fruit, curving the ball instead of hitting it straight.
Shoot - You "shoot" the fruit in a straight line at whatever you are aiming, be it the goal, or maybe your opponent. (Be careful not to spam a single move or "button mash" as it may decrease your odds of scoring.)
ObstaclesRandomly a staff member may comment and a net will appear on the field. These nets, if a fruit is knocked into them, will shoot the fruit toward your side of the field. They can appear in mid-air and will block your attempts at bumping fruit. These nets will appear for 1-2 posts at a time.
Randomly Generated NumberTo use the generator, you will need to reply to the thread. Posting in the "Quick Reply" will not work. In each post during a mission, you will use the code [rand*] without that asterisk. Depending on the number, this will tell you what fruit appears on your side of the field. If you get a 0, no fruit appeared on your side of the field.
Time Limit | JudgingEach member will need to post within 24 hours of the previous poster. The first round of matches will end in 10 days on September 17th. The games will be judged on your "Score", "Realism", and "Creativity". 3.. 2.. 1.. BEGIN!

Lately, I've been, livin' in my head The rest of me is dead, I dying for truth
[/center][/div][/font][/size][/sub]
Disney Castle was holding events this month, so why not take a break from the stress of fighting the bad guys and just play something fun to unwind for a while? Walking through Disney Town, quite a lively and colorful place of non-human characters that reminded him of Kimahri and the Ronso's from Spira, he met someone of familiar build named Horace Horsecollar. After signing up for a fun-sounding game called 'Fruitball', which couldn't be any harder or need more skill than Blitzball, the collared critter lead them over to a large square within the down that had been seperated in between by a white line with a net over it. Horace started to explain the rules, and Tidus rubbed his chin as he listened carefully, making sure to understand it in it's entirety. It sounded like a simple enough game of hitting fruit over a net to score into your opponent's goal, much like Blitzball but less movement in trade with more obstacles, and without the complication of abilities but the ones told he was allowed to use.
As his other opponent entered on the other side of the net, Tidus could see it was a young woman around his age. Short blond hair as well, blue eyes too, but that's where the simularities ended and the differences in clothing began. Only Tidus had his overalls and yellow shirt from his modified Blitzball uniform from the Zanarkand Abes, and he was glad he was unique in that respect. Still, he smiled to the woman, and waved at her from his side of the net. "Hey! Name's Tidus. Let's have a fun and fair match, shall we? Nice to meet you, I'm gonna have a lot of fun competing with you." he exuded jubilantly, keeping in high spirits and sportsmanship, and hoped the young woman would do the same.
Horace started counting down, Tidus summoned his Brotherhood, as there wasn't anything in the rules about summoning weapons. Although he wasn't going to attack with his own abilities at all, the Brotherhood was only going to be an extension of himself, so he would have more range to hit the fruit back with, so it would function more like a bat of sorts than a actual weapon. He spread apart his feet as he crouched down, putting his hands on his knees as he did a few warm-up squats, then straightened up his legs and pressed down on his knees to warm up his knees from all the jumping he was about to do. As the countdown came down to it's final numbers, Tidus looked to see if and what kind of fruit would appear on his side of the field. "Best of luck!" Tidus called in a friendly manner over to Aya, as he finished his warm-ups, and looked to what fruits would be first appearing in this game he was about to learn would get very hectic, very fast.

OOC: Not sure if I should be using my gun or not but since that seems like it be a pretty unfair advantage to have a ranged weapon for this sort of thing, I’ll be using a baton for the time being.
[#@rand#=9.414326969301328%@]
IC: So what was the former officer of Deling City Police Department up to right now? Well considering what day it was obviously the only thing she could be doing was playing Fruit Ball! Such a joyous event it was, one that she couldn't pass up seeing as she was in Disney Town for the time being. Or rather that would the average reaction to playing such a game, for her it was a bit more irritating and frustrating. After having arrived in Disney Town to check out yet another lead in regards to her missing daughter, the blonde vixen had found herself in the middle of a festival of sorts. Indeed, they seemed to be celebrating something, nothing she particularly had an interest in finding out but had sadly swept her up in the momentum.
Just moments after arriving on the planet, she had been asked to participate in the "Fruit Ball" game, her answer being a bold faced no immediately. Despite her firm answer, the man or rather creature asking her to participate pleaded and almost begged her to join. Her resolve didn't falter quickly but having tag-along company follow her all around town as she attempted to get any information on her daughter was troublesome. Thus after some time she finally convinced herself to participate and gave him the yes he wanted. His face lit up and he ran off to sign her up for the event much to her dismay. While the thought of simply not showing up crossed her mind, she had given the man her word and she wouldn't want to leave her would be opponent disappointed.
Even if it isn't something I'm particularly crazy about doing, I at least owe it the other person,[/i] she mused as she crossed her arms on the other side of the field waiting for the event to start, For all I know they're taking this really serious despite how silly it is... that and I am a bit of a sore loser even in trivial things like this,[/i] she admitted mentally as she looked over to her opponent. As it would seem, he was a blonde much like her and seemed rather athletic, almost as if he was made to play sports or in this case "Fruit Ball". This was a bit troubling but on the other hand perhaps her opponent could make this a bit more enjoyable and with that in mind she would raise one hand and wave at him as he introduced himself, her face indifferent for the time being.
"Hello there," she replied, putting her hand back and keeping her arms crossed, "The name's Aya and I'll be your opponent today, I hope to have a good match as well," she added, her voice a little softer than her indifferent expression. It wasn't very noticeable but anyone with keen senses would pick it up. Although it didn't matter much as the event would soon start after any introductions and fruits would begin flying. The first fruit to come would be on Tidus’ side, a giant apple that she stared at in disbelief for a moment wondering if they traveled back to the stone age to get that when everything was supposedly bigger. Whatever the case, her thoughts then pondered on how she was going to hit these “Fruit Balls” as her opponent had summoned his own weapon to the fray, a sword to be exact.
They really should have provided us both with a stick or something… instead he has a sword and I have a gun,[/i] she began to muse mentally, sighing and shaking her head, Assuming I even could shoot the fruit with my gun for the desired effect, I also run the chance of me accidentally shooting him and anyone nearby so I think I’ll have to pass on that. I suppose it’s a good thing I decided to carry a baton today, otherwise I might have manslaughter on my record after this game is over,[/i] she continued mentally before promptly withdrawing said baton. Gripping it tightly in her right hand by the small handle, she would dash toward the apple and strike at it in a fashion similar to an elbow strike in Muyi Thai Kickboxing. While she wasn’t particularly good at hand to hand combat, as an officer she did have some training with it and with the way she was wielding her baton swinging that way was most natural. This in turn would also mean the apple would curve instead of being shot straight toward the goal, the former officer attempting to trick her opponent and catch him off guard. Whether the fruit ball would go in after bouncing off the wall or perhaps being stopped by Tidus regardless of her attempt to trick him was another question entirely. Either way, Aya would quickly take a few steps back afterwards and attempt to ready herself for whatever came next in this strange game.

Make me, believe, no more left and right,
Come on take my side, I'm fightin' for you, I'm fightin' for you.

(OOC: Uhm, Felix, I had to make this post within 24 hours, so I made it sound like you hit your apple on your side of the field that appeared, because you made it sound like you hit the apple on my side of the field with a huge volleyball-like net between us. And bceause you couldn't possibly predict what fruitball had appeared for you when you used the /rand code, until you posted. Just so you know. xD;
Okay, so this girl's name was Aya, and she seemed the respectable yet friendly type. That was good to know, and he concentrated on an apple that had appeared on his side of the field. It was a very large apple, larger than he had ever seen before, and it seemed such a shame to waste such an apple in a way to hit it into the ground rather than eat it. Oh well, and he mentally shrugged to himself, jumping up and striking the apple with the flat of his Brotherhood. He had hit it into the air, in order to Bump the fruit downwards, like a volleyball spike straight towards the goal but higher and steeper than a regular straight shot.
He had to be be unpredictable and on-the-ball, pun not intended, for his opponent in order to win the game, right? This game was basically like playing a dead heat between two Blitzball goalies, and he had to protect his goal as well as shoot for the opponent's. That meant being unpredictable went hand-in-hand with keeping aware and making sure that he could reduce the amount of fruit going into his goal as much as possible. Hopefully this would prove to be a little less predictable than just a straight slam into the goal. After he had bumped his apple towards the goal at an intense speed, he landed on the ground, twirling the Brotherhood in his grasp as he bobbed side to side to get ready for Aya to both react to his apple as well as the fruit that appeared on her side of the field.
The fruit that appeared was... well, another apple. That was a coincidence, and I guess Horace wanted to keep things simple to start with, right? This should be a sinch. "I should warn you... I'm pretty good!" he teased at Aya, and watched as she hit the apple after producing a baton. He moved to try and block the apple with Brotherhood, but it came in a curve... a tricky move, and he grunted as he attempted to hit it back with his sword. He wasn't quite sure if he got it or not, but he hoped his fruit had the same effect on Aya, as in that she had not expected his move off-the-bat as well.
"Well, this is fun." he laughed, and prepared for the next fruit to appear. This was pretty easy-going so far, but he couldn't let his guard down, not if Aya was like that throwing curve balls for the entire match. Horace also mentioned more nets would appear throughout the game, along with more fruits as well. He watched for both, twirling his sword and hunkering down on bent knee like a intense tennis player, ready and eager to go. What kind of fruit was going to appear next, maybe something else different as a challenge other than a apple?

OOC: I was working under the assumption that whatever you rolled was what came on my side and whatever I rolled appeared on your side. That way we could post our reactions to the fruit for as you said, if you use the number you roll yourself then you can't really write your reaction seeing as you have no idea what it is prior to posting. I propose that we do it that way as the rules didn't clearly explain either or and that seems the more efficient way to go about it. If you don't wish to I understand but for at least one more post I'm going to post as such.
IC: And so the match began, Aya's first attack seeming marginally successful as her opponent hadn't expected it so early in the game. Indeed, most people would try to get a handle on the game as a whole better before throwing a curve ball but Aya wasn't most people. No, she was a former detective, one who was good at reading people and doing what they least expected. Conversely she was also good at reading their own moves and getting a grasp on their abilities with some time. Considering that the match had quite the time limit, it would make sense to watch her opponent carefully.
Thus when Tidus made his own attack, Aya didn't move much in reaction but was more surprised that her opponent could jump as high as he did, her eyes widening at the display. Aya wasn't a slouch when it came to her own physical condition but it was obvious that this guy was an athlete more so than before. No doubt this would prove troublesome but if anything it could also mean he wasn't all that bright. It wasn't very often was gifted with both brawn and brains so making this a bit of a psychological warfare would be for the best. While she wouldn't put too much faith into that assumption, making this more of a mind game would suit her talents better anyway.
It's not like I'm going to be allowed to use my powers to level the playing field a bit after all,[/i] she mused as her indifferent expression returned to her face, Either way I let him get that goal easily enough to observe but I certainly can't allow the next few in so easily to avoid suspicion. Even if he is a dunce if I let the next few go in without moving more then he may catch on that I'm watching him for tells,[/i] she finished mentally as Tidus decided to make some small talk. Smirking at the comment, she let out a small "hmph" as she shrugged her shoulders,
"It's certainly much better than fighting Heartless day in and day out although that's not saying much," she shot back in a dry tone as the next fruit appeared on her side... another apple. It seemed the host of this event had a passion for apples but that was irrelevant at the moment. Instead her next action was more important although it didn't take her much time to figure out her next move. In fact it was near instant as she switched the grip on her baton and went for a forward strike at the apple's core. Or rather that's what she wanted her opponent to believe as Aya was simply trying to fake him out once more.
Most people would think in this situation that I wouldn't do another curve ball.[/i] she would muse as she turned her wrist as the strike neared it's target, It's natural to think that the opponent wouldn't come at them with the same move twice and thus most people will be unprepared for it to come again. If nothing else I'll determine whether my opponent is like the masses or not and figure out how to play this game against him a bit more with this blow,[/i] she would finish mentally as she sent yet another Curve towards the walls. Whether it scored or not didn't matter much to her though, she was more interested in how her opponent reacted so she could continue to build a profile of sorts on him.

(OOC:
This is that Horace quoted in the rules above, I don't think it can be read to mean it any other way than simply what it says that it will determine what fruit appears on your own side of the field. xD I think they also meant that the first post was just to prepare and get ready so by the next post, you'd know what fruit you have, so let's get to it shall we?)
After he spiked the ball, Tidus watched as Aya's eye grew wide beneath him, and he couldn't help but keep that smile on his face. "Goal!" he cheered, not sure if his apple had actually gotten in the goal or not, as he couldn't tell from his position from behind the net. But it still felt good to yell out what he was aiming for anyway and have good time. "Hey, are you having fun? You're actually not bad yourself!" he complimented the young woman, hoping she could get a brilliant smile on that pretty face of hers.
"I guess it's better than putting yourself at risk as the Heartless... not as good as knowing you saved people from them though. But it is a lot more fun!" Tidus laughed, as he replied to Aya. The Heartless were out there, but they weren't hurting anyone, and everyone had to let their guard down and chill out once in a while. Just to re-invigorate their fighting spirit, but also to remember what they were fighting for. And what a way to unwind, huh? Tidus watched as another fruit appeared on Aya's side of the field, telling himself he'd catch this ball this time.
This time she hit it at another arc, and Tidus raced to intercept it, pushing off with his feet from where he landed. The curve ball was a solid repitition of what she had already used from the start of the match, so this time Tidus was ready for it, and swung out with his aquatic sword. A blue streak followed the weapon as it struck the fruit, attempting to hit it back over the net with his own curve shot bending towards the goals this time. He wanted to see if she was ready as much as he had been the first time he had to react to a tricky curve ball. She seemed like a nice young woman at least, so she wouldn't mind a bit of clever competition of being dished back what she served, right?
It was all in good fun, and now Tidus watched as a fruit appeared on his side of the field. Wow, another apple? Well, he guessed maybe there were just a lot of apples and they were using them to get them out of the way. Or maybe Horace was going to switch it up when they least expected it and start using different fruits with nets. Tidus hit the apple in a Straight shot this time, but this time it was different to up the anté as he aimed it straight at Aya to see if it would either distract her with a stun or if she would be able to intercept it.

OOC: Oh no I read that it was just when I wrote the original post because I couldn't know what my roll was going to be I figured that it was supposed to be what yours was and that's why you didn't do anything the first post. Either way, I'll just roll with how you're doing it and I apologize for the misunderstanding on my part.
IC: He wouldn't get a smile out of the blonde vixen quite yet but the former officer would meet the blitzball player half-way, a bit of a grin curving against her lips at his comment. She didn't want to admit it but she was having a bit of a fun even if she had come into this thinking it was a giant waste of time. As she noted herself, it was a nice distraction from fighting Heartless, a predicament she often found herself while searching for Eve. He would then follow that comment with another, claiming that saving innocent lives in addition to slaying Heartless was a lot more satisfying. She certainly couldn't disagree with that sentiment, nodding at him as she sent the fruitball back a t a curve and stretched her arms above her head for a moment, gripping her right elbow with her left hand.
"Hmm well I can certainly agree with that statement," she started as Tidus returned the curve, her eyes still watching him closely despite taking a moment to talk back to him, "As for having fun maybe just a tad, I was expecting something a bit different than smacking around giant fruits but I can't say I'm disappointed. If nothing else this game does serve as a good distraction and is helping me unwind a bit, can't remember the last time I moved around like this to play a game as opposed to avoid a fatal attack," she explained, as she rushed to intercept the fruit ball he had returned figuring it was a curve ball by the way Tidus swung his blade. As it would seem she was right and having predicted it she managed to catch it with an arm she stretched out. Sliding against the ground, she quickly picked herself up and glanced at the next fruit appearing on her side that seemed to be a Pineapple, the first different fruit of the match. Sadly, that momentary loss of focus caused her to take an apple to the face, a gesture made by her opponent that she wasn't going to take very kindly. Indeed, it hurt quite a bit and now the only thought on her mind was to pay him back with interest now that she had so many fruits on her side of the field.
"Oh you're going to pay for that one Tidus," she threatened although her tone didn't express any real hostility, more so in a playful sense. Whatever the case, she would quickly use the apple in front of her and take a page from Tidus' book, Bumping it up in the air before spiking it toward his goal. Whether it made it in or he intercepted it she didn't care for she just wanted him to be distracted by that as she landed back on the ground as her Bump and the jump that followed it weren't particularly high. Thus as soon as she got back on her feet she would send the Pineapple at the blonde haired athlete, running at it before swinging her baton as hard as she could to Shoot it straight toward his face wherever he may have been at the moment.

Wake me, I'm ready, somethin' don't seem right, I was dreamin', I was talkin' to you
[/center][/div][/font][/size][/sub]
(OOC: No worries Felix. ^__^ Since you've been a good sport, ya'll like this post, lol.)
Aya seemed to be loosening up, and that relaxed Tidus a bit. It was one thing to playing against someone who was tightly-wound up and not exuding any sportsmanship, but it was another and nicer to rub off some of his enthusiasm and kindness on another person so they could pass it on. It was clear sunny weather in Disney Town today, and Tidus was enjoying the sun, slight dust kicking up as he dug his shoes into the ground. He listened to what Aya had to say, and smiled a little more, glad she was admitting a little fun was doing her good. "Well I'm glad smacking fruits around is a good distraction for you. Then we can get back to enjoying killing Heartless later." he laughed.
After hitting his apple with a curve ball, he watched as Aya smartly anticipated the angle and caught it. His first curve ball, and she had anticipated it? Damn, he was going to have to play bit harder if he was going to get more fruit into the goal. He watched as his next fruit in a attempt to daze her, have the ball hit her straight in the face, and he lost his smile as he gasped a bit fearing he might have both hurt and upset her. "Are you okay?" he asked her. A pinapple appeared on her side of the field, and from there Tidus felt things were going to get intense against him fast.
He was relived when she answered, and in a amused tone, she wasn't seriously hurt but he got the feeling he was going to pay for being hit like that. Especially with that pinapple on her side of the field, where Horace said that the fruit would stun upon hitting an opponent. Soon enough Aya hit a Bump of the apple on her side of the field towards his goal, and Tidus went after it, not only to protect his goal but because it was fun to dive up to intercept the ball. He could always keep an eye for that pineapple, knowing what Aya was most likely going to do with it, right? But soon enough as he caught the apple with the brunt of the Brotherhood, the pineapple came straight at him in a fast ball, right into the face in the same place he had hit Aya.
He saw it coming, and used the length of the aquatic sword to try and block it from hitting him, positioning himself in front of the goal as the spiky surface struck him hard. Unlike the apple, Tidus couldn't move as his vision before him dazed, and he slumped to the ground slightly in front of the goal on one knee, grasping the hilt of his sword and stabbing it into the ground as a makeshift crutch to support himself upright. His vision went off angle and blurred, unable to concentrate, sinking lower and lower to the ground. Would this be the end of his Fruitball run so soon, now Aya had a chance while he was vulnerable? He couldn't even make out the next fruit that appeared on his side of the field much less do anything with it, hoping that his position blocking his goals directly would be enough to keep him in the games and not ruin his fun.

Without any warning, there is a poof of smoke and a decent size net appears in the middle of the field on the center of the court, floating in the air to prevent bumping on the side of the field. It looked a lot like a tennis net and would throw fruits back at you, making it possible to shoot fruits into your own net.
Note: Be careful bumping fruits.

OOC: We should make some apple juice after this is all over, BAZING!
IC: While it was a bit disheartening to see that the apple she bumped toward TIdus' goal had been blocked, the blonde vixen couldn't help but grin when he got hit by the pineapple. Well maybe not completely, he did put his sword in front of him after all so it probably didn't hurt near as much but it did disorient him if nothing else. Indeed, he fell to one knee rather dramatically and with her opponent down for the time being she would have free reign to do as she pleased. Twirling her baton between her fingers for a moment Aya made her way over to one of the two apples. Stopping next to it, she began to tap her opposite hand with her baton as she decided to make the pun that had yet to be thrown out.
"How do you like dem apples?" she attempted to joke although anyone listening to her could tell it was rather awkward. Puns weren't really her thing, sarcasm and even a little self-deprecation were more her style of humor. Either way, it was a fitting phrase to add as she swung her baton at the apple, Bumping it up to spike it past Tidus' head. After all, with him currently stunned in front of the goal she couldn't just shoot straight at it and thus her options were limited. Sadly though, her options were further limited as right after spiking it a net suddenly appeared in the middle of the arena. It quickly bounced her apple back and into her net, the former officer's face deadpanning at the sight.
"You've got to be kidding me..." she started before smacking her forehead with her free palm, "I suppose that's what I get for trying to make a pun," she noted before running over to the other fruit. She wouldn't have much more time after all while Tidus' was stunned and thus would Curve this apple towards his goal. Paying attention to aim it properly, Aya would swing her baton hard and send the apple flying with a high velocity. She hoped it would curve into Tidus' goal during the time in which he was disoriented but whether it did or not she quickly jumped back to the middle of her side and readied herself. Indeed, she was ready to defend against whatever Tidus' threw at her next, paying close attention to the blond haired athlete.
You won't be winning easily I can say that much,[/i]

Memory, mend me, know I've seen my share, Things I can't repair, I'm breakin' to you, I'm breakin' to you.

(OOC: We'll probably get enough to make a pie! Rofl. And re-using the fruit you've already used on me huh? We'll we'll see about that! xD)
He heard Aya make a remark, but he couldn't make out what it was. Something about... mayple syrup? The earth was moving under his feet, but when he tried to concentrate on one thing like the net before him, it just kept moving uncontrollably. Then the net even floated up into the air off the ground! Had he gotten a concussion, that he was seeing things!? No, wait, he remembered Horace said nets would randomly appear as part of the game. But the blond man couldn't possibly aim the new fruit that had appeared on his side of the field in the current state he was in.
What sort of fruit was that? It looked like a giant green blob with light green stripes... a watermelon!? But it couldn't possibly be a watermelon, it was wider than Tidus was taller! But then again, the apples were larger than they usually were. This had to be a watermelon that had been enlargened bigger than the average watermelon.
He tried to watch what Aya was doing, even though the images were blurry, splitting into multiple images and rotating from side to side. There was a red blob that came towards him, but his limbs felt as heavy as anchors. Did the red blob actually never leave the side of Aya's field, or did he get that apple into Aya's net all by himself? Another red blob came his way and he tried to move after it, but he felt so dazed his body refused to move at his mind's provocation. He couldn't tell, as it sailed past him, if it got in the goal or not or even if it had left Aya's side of the field from everything in his vision going everywhere.
Gradually, his vision started to come back, and he raised a hand up to his head to shake the dizziness off as if the movement alone could do so. He pushed himself up slowly as he recovered, his sight refocusing and no longer spinning. Aya had reset her movement back to the center of the field, and he hadn't really paid much attention to her movements or what she had said because of the effects of the pineapple. A small net had appeared on either side of their field, small rectangular ones, floating and strafing left and right to stop incoming fruit from bouncing further. The star player started to calculate what to do with the watermelon, adding a "Ugh... good one, just getting back into the groove!" in a self-encouraging manner, looking up as another fruit appeared on his side of the field now he was fully back in action.

After making her move and making her way back to the middle of her side of the field, it would seem that Tidus' regained his bearings. In fact, he had regained enough of said bearings to even make a comment, assuring he was getting back in the groove. This made a small smile appear on the blonde vixen's face as she put her left hand on her hip as her right arm lay limp against her side.
"Well I certainly hope so, it won't be any fun if you're out of breath this early," she teased, crossing her arms after the statement, "If I recall correctly you said a moment ago that you were pretty good but you might have to step up your game a bit if you want to convince me of that," she added as yet another apple made its way on her side of the field. She narrowed her eyes at it as she gave it a deadpan stare, beginning to wonder if apples were all they had to give. I suppose it didn't really matter in the end but it would be nice to have a bit more variety as the only other fruits to grace the field were a pineapple and a watermelon.
Whatever the case, with the pineapple still on Tidus' side of the field she was in a bit of an impasse. While it was possible to shoot this apple of hers over and possibly score while he was still a bit winded, doing so would leave her open. It was highly likely she'd score but at this point of the game she didn't feel the need to take unnecessary risks. That being noted, she would instead stay near the apple, ready to hit it at will.
"Show me what you got," she taunted, a bit of a smirk tugging at her lips as she awaited Tidus' move. Considering the situation, she had little choice but to play defensively for the time being.
OOC: Sorry bit short of a post although all things considered I suppose these aren't meant to be monster posts anyway like they might in a raid or something XD!

He heard the taunt from Aya as he got up, heard the teasing in her voice. "Yeah, that's right, it would be no fun no would it?" he grunted, leaning his head to the side to get a loud 'krick' sound out of his neck. Even though her her comment was trying to contridict his words, he decided to keep things in high spirits. "In Blitzball, the players don't temporarily paralyze your whole body." he laughed, shrugging it off, like he would if he recieved insults from the opposing team or even worse, fans like water running off a ducks' back. He looked at his side of the field at the fruits gathered, a plan formulating like any good blitzball strategy.
"You're saying you're not convinced I'm any good?" he scoffed, in mock offense, playing this game she wanted to play. He recalled back to his memories of when he was dazed, remembering blurred colors moving , especially that bouncing red dot as he figured out what had happened. "You can talk. I see to recall you hit your own fruitball back into your own goal." he teased back. That smile that was lost when he was dazed was back on his face, a shuffling of his foot, dust kicking up from the dusty brick pavement underfoot. "But you probably got one in at least. Not that I can tell. You did hit me with a pineapple, after all, and those things stun."
He looked at the fruits on his side of the field, including the pineapple. Apparently Aya was re-using them, except he couldn't tell if any had been in the goals or not. He figured it wasn't a good idea to put the pineapple in play, at least not yet. First he hit an apple with a straight shoot with the Brotherhood with the right timing, to bounce off the floating net on Aya's side of the field, then bounce off the main net between them to bounce straight into the goal. Then to reflect what Aya did to him, he immediately gave her a taste of her own medicine as another fruit appeared on the side of his field, with a Bounce of the giant watermelon spiking straight down to Aya.
"Next course: watermelon is served!"

OOC: I believe the net is gone now Tidus but it's of little consequence lol.
IC: And so after a bit of smack talk and a couple words back, Aya remained at the ready waiting for Tidus to make his move. With the amount of fruits on his side of the field she had no doubt he was formulating some sort of a plan but he wasn't the only one. Indeed, there was a reason why she had stood near the last remaining apple on her side of the field and that reason would show itself as Tidus made his move.
Watching him closely, Aya was quick to react when he fired the first shot, hitting the apple into the floating net that remained in such a way that it would bounce off her side of the middle net. It was a creative tactic but the extra time it took for it to come back at her goal gave her enough time to do a move she had thought of just a moment ago. Without hesitation, the former officer would swing her baton at the apple in front of her, hitting the apple coming at her goal at an angle and causing it to veer off course. This caused the apples to bounce around a bit on her side of the field which was a tad disorienting but otherwise it saved her from giving out any points.
I had planned to use that for the pineapple if he used it immediately but it seems like he's saving it for a more opportune time,[/i] she pondered as a giant watermelon came at her, Whatever the case, it's best to watch out for it and keep at least one fruit on my side to use as a shield in the event he throws it at me,[/i] she thought as she would then swing at the Watermelon, Shooting it back. She doubt she would score with it as it wasn't going all that fast due to the forward momentum she had to throw back but it did allow her to avoid having her face smashed with fruit again. It would be on that note that Aya would put her left hand on her hip as a smirk curved against her lips, deciding to tease the energetic opponent a bit.
"Jeez that's how you serve watermelon?" she started, a small "heh" escaping her lips in between, "I take it you're not a very good host for parties than are you? I can only imagine what other foods you might throw at people's faces," she added before assuming a ready stance and waiting for Tidus' next move.

Please to meet you take my hand, there is no way back from here Pleased to meet you, say your prayers, there is no way back from here... no way back from here

(OOC: Let's just say it bounced off the net as it disappeared then. xD)
So the reason why Aya was waiting with her apple was revealed, and Tidus shook his head in dismay at her. And suddenly, Tidus saw the vast flaw, and the cost it would take to keep up such a defense. The apples would bounce around in her side of the field, but there was every chance that one of them would bounce in the wrong direction. He smiled to himself, and twirled his sword. This was going to be fun.
Aya hit the watermelon over to him, and he spun around as he twirled his sword. The flat side of his blade caught it, and he volleyed it back over the side of the net with a Shoot shot. There was no 'delay' this time for Aya to watch it bouncing off the nets, so it came fast and hard. The added weight and size of the giant watermelon, only served to make it like a giant fruit canonball.
"I see what you're getting at, you know." he chuckled, looking at some of the fruits bounce around Aya's side of the field. "No, don't worry lady, that's only how I serve it to you in this game. I have good host manners, believe me, and I'm sure you do too despite the fact you threw a pineapple at me." he teased. He watched as an apple bounced from Aya's side of the field to his, and also deflected that with the Brotherhood, this time into a sharp Curve shot straight after the watermelon. For the watermelon wasn't aimed at Aya, but at the goals behind her, the same target the apple was aiming for.
"And you can't block all my shots forever, either!"
