The strange town for the lost known as Traverse Town was a world that was used to visitors of all sorts. It accepted those separated from their worlds and kept those without a home to go back to. It welcomed visitors easily with open arms, inviting them to stay with the many stores, cafes, and hotels it had. No, matter the time, the sky always remained the same midnight blue with stars twinkling in it. The shops and places of the town always kept the lights on, giving the town a warm and welcoming glow. As welcoming as the place was this place was filled of secrets and mysteries to keep the curious engaged and engaged Deshi was.
The white haired warrior had come to the town simply to explore not expecting to find quite so many distraction, but as soon as he appeared in the alleyways behind the hotel, he began to find various things that took him off his task of finding information. First it had been a small scuffle with the ant like shadows and then it had been the hotel which he explored thoroughly much to the owner’s amusement. It was from the gentle lady that he had learned that this place was called Traverse Town and that he was not the first outsider to come here. As of late, this world had seen many travelers according to the owner and made the woman wonder if she had enough rooms to house them all. She offered Deshi a room to stay in for as long as he liked for the flat fee of 100 munny. The currency was an odd one to Deshi, so at first he had declined saying he could not afford the place, but the woman only chuckled and cut him an even better deal.
She’d let him stay in any room he chose for free on the condition that he continued to rid this world of Heartless whenever he had the chance. The comment and deal came at such a surprise to the warrior that for once he could not hide the shock going through him. The woman laughed out loud at the expression confusing the warrior even more before she apologized and told him she had seen him fighting the Heartless in the alley when she was cleaning a room. Recovering from the shock and slowly understanding, Deshi had regained his composure and after a moment of thought accepted the offer. He figured that even though he could not be here all the time, he would at least have a place to stay and the woman did not ask much of him, so why not? With the deal made, the owner gave him a key to Room 229 and told him if he needed anything or happened to lose his key to let her know. Nodding and thanking the lady for her kindness, he had left to check out his new home. The room was small and cozy with a bed, table, chair and even a little fireplace in it. He had a window that looked out onto the alleyway, but that didn’t bother the warrior much. He had a place to stay and come back to, so he was happy.
He stayed in the room for a while longer before he left, locking the room, and placing the key in a safe spot inside the many folds of his clothing. From the hotel, he went back into town and began exploring the shops and other places around town. He even tried a sandwich from the café and found it surprisingly good. He wondered what other food he could find there, but that was for another day. Finishing the small meal, he moved about the districts finding strange homes and even running into a pair of talking dogs with many puppies. He didn’t understand why there were so many puppies, but he guess the place was the two older dogs’ way of having an orphanage. He didn’t see any people around and since the dogs could speak, he thought that maybe they could set up such an organization. Far-fetched maybe, but impossible? Not at all.
In any case, he wandered from the Pongo and Perdita’s house back out into the districts and eventually came across the strange door with a fire emblem on it. He had wondered if the strange mark was a simple design or actually a sign to throw fire at the door to open it. As curious as he was about the door, he didn’t get a chance to find out the truth of the sign for unexpectedly something heavy crashed into the area causing the ground to tremble with such violence that Deshi had to use the door for support to keep himself from falling over. The bells from the Gizmo Tower clanged loudly from the quake that lasted for a full minute before subsiding. As the bells quieted down and Deshi regained his balance, the white haired warrior moved from the small ally he was in and headed back into the main area. Besides two large indention in front of the fountain there didn’t seem to be anything—
Clatter!Clang!Clang!Clatter!Clink!
The loud noises came from directly behind him unexpectedly causing the warrior to jump on slightly on instinct before he turned calmly to face whatever it had entered the area. What he saw was shocking to say the least. A giant suit of armor of purple and black color stood before him; however it had two key features that made it different from just possessed metal. The first was the giant emblem on its chest and the second were the gold colored eyes that shined bright out of the shadows of its visor.
This thing was one of the shadows—Heartless—but unlike the others, this one was larger in size. Not sure what made this creature so large in comparison to the others, Deshi flicked out his left hand summoning Crimson Rose. As soon as the blade was in hand, the creature went on the offensive doing everything in its power to crush or slash him to death. For the most part, the smaller and more agile warrior was able to dodge and smack the large armor; however, he lost concentration when he went to hit the chest part of the creature because he could’ve sworn he heard a voice yelling for help from deep within the metal. Confused, he had hesitated too long, allowing the large armor to whap him with its sharp nails and toss him back. Deshi rolled across the ground and came to a stop on his stomach. He grunted slightly as he got up not realizing he had been hurt or cut until he felt air against the skin on his stomach and looked down. For the most part, his clothing had saved him from a serious injuries, but there were still some small cuts on his skin that were beginning to bleed. Also, the skin in the area was beginning to turn a darker color than the rest letting him know he would have a nice sized bruise to look forward to in a few hours. While that was not exactly a nice present, the calm warrior didn’t mind it since nothing was broken and he only had a few scratches for his carelessness. Luck was on his side for now, but he couldn’t afford another blow like that. The next one might actually be more bothersome. Getting to his feet, he moved into a different position as he tried a new plan of attack, going on the defensive and instead of being offensive like before. This plan kept him from gaining too many more injuries, but it also made taking down the iron warrior even longer, but through persistence the thing eventually fell apart and crumbled into a pile on the ground in a loud fashion. Breathing heavily from the work out and sustaining minor wounds on his face and arms, Deshi stood tense for a moment waiting to see if the armor would get back up again or if the voice that had distracted him earlier would repeat itself.
When neither happened he began to wonder if he had imagined the sound as he relaxed and looked at the damage that the armor had done to the area. There was a bit of cleaning up to do that he was sure the townsfolk wasn’t going to appreciate, but at least he would—
Another crash in the town interrupted his thoughts. This time it came from the First District. Was there another armor in town or perhaps a different sort of Heartless or being attacking? If so what exactly had he walked into here when he came to this world? Was there a war going on here and no one bothered to tell him? Doubtful, but still it was strange that a second attacked had occurred so soon. Maybe he should go check it out…Hm?
Deshi’s thought came to a halt as a blonde woman entered from the Third District. She wore a black suit and did not appear harmful, but under the circumstances Deshi wasn’t sure if she could be trusted or not. Still he held his ground and kept his weapon lowered as she approached. When she was in hearing range he asked her a simple question.
“Who are you?” in calm, quiet tones, his face expressionless as he kept a cautious eye on her, wondering if she had perhaps set the Heartless and the other on the town. If so she would be taken care of instantly; however, if she was indeed harmless then perhaps the best method was to get her to some place safe until the danger was over? Hmmm….only time would tell.
