Everything you know about The Avengers, Spider-Man, the X-men, etc. can change at Marvel Sigma. Re-shape, and re-define this world as you see fit, make Professor X a young man or Iron Man into Iron Woman.

The mutant terrorist Tempus launched simultaneous attacks on New York and San Francisco and with a bit of cunning mental manipulation pitted Captain America, Spider-Man and Iceman against civilians and policemen alike. In the end three men one a legend and the others mere fledglings, all of whom who had been heroes were charged with multiple counts of manslaughter. Tried together they were given probation, once it was established they were being manipulated. The entire debacle however, tarnished both their credibility and society's faith in its so-called heroes.
In rapid succession Tempus struck at a Weapon Plus facility, while elsewhere the mutant activist Exodus working through others, laid siege to and decimated the Capital Building. The X-Men, in their first mission sped to Canada to put a stop to Tempus and were brutally defeated and forced to flee. In Washington, the Avengers fell upon Exodus’ disciples and devastated them in relatively short order but not before the Capital Building was laid to ruin.
Smarting from their recent defeat and fearing that Tempus, who knows about Xavier’s Institute; will bring the fight to them, the X-Men separate the X-Initiative from the school and open recruiting for new X-Men and a backup Gen-X team. As if taking a letter from the X-Men, the Avengers similarly begin recruiting, intent on fielding both a West and East Coast team. Meanwhile Tempus and her Acolytes set their sights on still more terror, while Hydra and Exodus and his gathering Brotherhood prepare to unleash a whirlwind of retribution and destruction that has been a long time in the making.
In the face of all of this turmoil, primarily located at present in the United States the government is holding emergency elections to fill the seats of members in both the Senate and Congress who died in the recent attack. Bills such as the Super Powers Act and Proposition X are gaining traction, which both promise to be more a thorn in the side of heroes than villains should they pass.
And then… there are the Skrulls.
The old expression, ‘May you live in interesting times.’ has never been more apt. Come leave your mark on a world in turmoil…
