The Castle of Dreams was one of those strange worlds in which light slightly outweighed the world’s darkness. It was a peaceful land; war was a nonexistent concept leaving the current ruler of the world naturally unopposed. Besides the occasional homeless lout the residents were happy and thus never sought revolution against their all ruling leader. In the day the sun made the world shine like a jewel, and at night the cascading stars provided an equal beauty. It would be a shame if someone were to come and ruin it all.
Even with the light supremacy, the slightest bit of darkness hid in the heart of this world, waiting quietly for a chance to consume it. This at least allowed a wielder of dark forces to appear on the world every once in a while, though the world itself was mostly kept to obscurity…it wasn’t visited often. When a force of darkness did visit this peculiar world, if the darkness was strong enough, it could be felt in the air. That strange feeling in the pit of your gut that not all was well today, something is about to go very wrong. This was not the case when Maleficent appeared.
When the supposed Mistress of All Evil first came to this world to kidnap its Princess of Heart, her very presence shook the scale and Darkness became immediately dominate. However as she appeared today in the small forest outside the castle, nothing happened. The world went on like it always did, and even the creatures of the forest barely noticed Maleficent’s presence. Her arrival went unacknowledged.
Maleficent was weak, ever since her last battle with that vile Sora boy her power over the darkness had waned. The heartless no longer listened to her, and thus on this night there would be no screaming…at least not immediately. So why is she here then? Well if you could believe it, Maleficent was still on the hunt for a home. She has it in her mind that if she can take over a world again, certainly she shall regain her past power. Plus if you haven’t noticed she has kind of been searching for a new base for a very long time. At one point she’ll have to be gifted by fate and get a lucky break right?
Currently Maleficent was going through old worlds she had already visited. She had just finished a trip to the dwarf woodlands, but found the castle to be lacking compared to her dwellings of old. The next stop on her real estate hunt on Memory Street was the Castle of Dreams, which according to her memory fell rather easily. Yet as I’ve said, she was not as powerful as she once was. The world did not bend to her when she appeared…in fact it didn’t even know she was there.
Maleficent refused to admit that she was too weak to take over this pitiful excuse for a world. She came to conquer, and even without an army this slab of rock shall be crushed in her hand. A few minutes after her grand entrance Maleficent observed her surroundings, her only current minion Diablo the raven sitting droopy eyed on her shoulder. She did not remember this forest, even though it was indeed there on her first conquering. The trees were old, and their bark looked sturdy. They shall make fine furniture for future lackeys. However Maleficent soon found herself looking to her grand goal, the always-illustrious Castle of Dreams.
The world’s signature structure loomed over the land, and shined brighter than the very moon. It could be seen from anywhere on the world, thus providing a false sense of security to the world’s residence, allowing them to think that they would always be under the protecting eye of their ruler. As Maleficent stared at the castle and all of its glory, she couldn’t help but wish it matched the true splendor of her Hallow Bastion, but it would have to do for now. She could certainly improve the castle after she conquers it…if she conquers it.
She had to ignore such thoughts; after all confidence was her greatest weapon. She will conquer this world and bring about a new era of evil. She lightly stroked the back of her fateful raven’s head, which quickly woke him from his aloof daze. “Why Diablo,” The witch said with a sneer, “This castle shall be a perfect testament to my evil. No one would dare stand in my way here. Before the night is out, this ‘Castle of Dreams’ shall be a Castle of Nightmares!” The raven nodded halfheartedly, and Maleficent journeyed forth toward her distant prize.
