(OOC note: This is set after the events of Versus and FFXIII-2, but before the events of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.)
Time is unreconcilable. It is the one element that is a ongoing constant, and has no true substitution. A single force driving our lives that is too powerful for mankind to wield alone, without the temptation of abuse. And now it is no longer the one thing we have on our side. Our world is slowly sinking into the sea of chaos, and as you all look forward to the future in the hope of seeing a new dawn, I will keep fighting back the wave after wave of everlasting oblivion so you may see that light...
... and make your own decisions how best to use what little time we have left.
As Noctis relayed his inner hopes to his friends and allies that lay in the new world of Novus Partus and beyond from Etro's Shrine, clad in armor as the last gift graced by the now deceased Etro, he spotted the next wave of monsters brought forth by their leader at the head of his army. He pushed off at his heels, jumping off the balcony of the shrine and down to the desolate rocky wasteland below, facing the army alone. The legion was composed mostly of monsters from Lightning's world, but their leader was the main threat as he stood unabated as monsters advanced a distance behind him. All the man wore was a white-hooded cloak which concealed his face, which was now sporting a arrogant and sinister smirk. "Come now, Noctis. You really did not think you had gotten rid of me the last time we fought, did you? Without Lightning, you cannot hope to safeguard Etro's throne as much as this world cannot stop circling the drain."
Lightning is gone, Noctis thought, As was Etro before her. I can't rely on the hope she'll return now.
Noctis ignored the words and ran forward, Falchion drawn, swinging to strike down his ultimate nemesis. The man simply raised his hand and conjured a glowing white glyph, many of them suddenly appearing around Noctis. At the same time, Noctis threw forward his Falchion as his eyes glowed a brilliant crimson and his hair a shimmering azure, summoning all his weapons to surround the White-Hooded Man in his version of Soul Burst. There was a moment frozen in time as both rivals had each other surrounded completely by their powers, before both were consumed by a massive explosion of light. There were grunts of pain from both camps as Noctis rolled out uncontrollably from his explosion, while the White-Hooded Man spun with his arms shielding him before resuming his calm demeanor.
"You think yourself the new Lightning, with your pretty tin-can armor blessed from a dead god?" the unknown man questioned, a simple gesture from his hands, and suddenly a powerful Holy spiraled down in powerful wisps from the heavens at the chosen of Etro. Noctis rolled himself into a kneeling position, before summoning Coat of Armsto shield himself from further damage at the last second, scorching white light blasting into a energy shield created by the circular rotating weapons. "If you think you're a foll enough to think you can replace Caius!" Noctis snapped back. The man in the white-hooded cloak smirked, as one of the first and currently most powerful monster rapidly approached, the thundering footsteps and monstrous roar preceding it before the gargantuan Ugallu appeared. The giant wolf-like monster that stood twice the height of Noctis zipped around it's master, as the former stepped into the background to let the monster take care of Noctis, Noctis attempting to follow him but having no choice but the face off against the monster as Ugallu cut him off and lunged violently at him.

Evil tastes the tears of fear! tearing down your helpless fate
It was unknown to the dark keybearer why he had exactly been brought here, but unpon first stepping into this wasteland, he was happy already. The touch of chaos and it’s tender kiss was all over this land. She had laid herself down in this world and it’s cities, leaving a stain so obvious to anyone. It was a roadmap for the boy, drawing him closer and closer to chaos’ true purpose. Suck destruction, such madness, such sorrow, such malice… it called to the boy like a cat to a can opener. He would indulge in the sweet taste of this world and it’s destruction.
Having wandered it for a while, the masked boy known as Vanitas had come across what appeared to be some sort of odd sanctuary world. Strange, and filled with light, but the touch of chaos still lingered. It seemed the people of this world had sought refuge there. And how to get inside? He could just assault it, but it seemed this had been a sanctuary built and surviving on strong warriors. Better he think a more.. Clever way. Something more like what his former Master might do. So he planned, keeping to the shadows while watching. That was when the plan came to him, as did the assualt.
Careful to watch the assault, it seemed the leader, or what was a strong and respected leader of some sort at least, came down to assault the army on his own. Reckless, but a perfect chance. Help this man, protect him and give him a chance. Then he might lead him to the secrets of chaos in this world. Surely that would be the best course of action? Surely Xehanort would have been proud of that! But how to prove himself. Perhaps helping in defeating that white robed man? Or maybe by helping him with that large creature attacking him. Yes, that would be the chance!
Without missing a beat, Vanitas from the shadows slammed his key blade to the ground.. In meer moments after the creature would come to face the warrior, Vanitas would emerge from the ground, the darkness engulfing him like an eruption of energy as he spun at the head, key blade twisting. He would slow in mid-air, then force himself to flip back and stand near the warrior, key blade at the ready.
“Need some help?” At least this would be easier than fooling that girl in Twilight town. Here he could still be himself a little. |

Pulse was a strange and beautiful world that, unfortunately for the resident that lived there, had proved to be too interesting to a particularly dangerous Dark Heart. Ansem, the Seeker of Darkness, did not leave this world after he had saved and met the child called Gobi on those vast beautiful plains. No he had stayed, drifted through the shadows, and learned what he could of this vast new land. As he did, he did indeed find civilians on the world with Hearts of all kinds to use and feed upon. It was a perfect place to call home, the Heartless could indeed thrive and the people here would make entertaining pets to observe and perform tests on. On top of this wonderful find, this world offered something else to the Heartless. Something that he was rarely offered in his travels—technology. Technology to some may seem like a waste of time, but to Ansem technology was a sign of progress and new knowledge to be gained. He had used some in the past, but nothing as sophisticated as the things found here. As he explored and watched the people work with their machines, he saw the potential of those machines and what they could do for him if he could tap into them and make them his instead of the humans. He’d have new and powerful weapons to fill with Darkness that would not only add power to his army, but also be able to protect his Heartless even better than the old fashion means could. Also, there was an added bonus to this discovery. That cursed Academy back in his territory…it would seem that it matched up with this world’s advancements. Meaning if he could master the machines here, he could tear down that strong hold of the Light with ease. All he would need to do after mastering the skills were some pawns to help along the way. Yes. Yes. The pieces were falling easily into place. In any case, the Heartless continued to travel the world gathering information on the people and creatures there. His research had kept him in the world for days with much progress being made. He had already gained the people’s trust, pretending to be a helpful ally to them. He protected them from the monsters and aided them with small tasks that needed to be done…and like ants they ate at that kindness as if it was sugar. They thought he was there to be friends with them, but in the end the game was much more selfish than that. He was a predator marking his territory, showing the creatures that sought to hunt his family’s food source that they could not do so without getting through him first. He didn’t hog all the humans, he wasn’t that cruel after all, but still he would not let the creatures into the cities or towns. Those were his to reap from, so he kept his homes well guarded. The plan was a simple one that prep this world for it inevitable fall into Darkness and when it came, all Hearts would return to the Darkness where they had came. There was no other way order could come to this world that was so lost in the silly hopes and promises the Light offered. They need truth and guidance in their lives and like the wonderful teacher he was, he would give them such comforts while weeding out those that threatened the peace. Simple, logical, just; however, he knew that some would not agree with such simplicity and choose to fight instead. So on this fine day, the Heartless wandered the world searching out the defenders of this world. Those Light warriors that would seek to stand in his way. He wandered the vast world, taking notes on this and that until finally he found exactly what he was looking for. In an abandon shrine an army of Darkness sought to lay siege upon the physical representation of the Light. Amused by such a sight, the Heartless Leader watched from the Darkness as a single warrior of Light jumped from the balcony of the shrine to defend the place against the vast army. The leaders of Light and Dark clashed and caused an explosion before the leader of the Dark army sent forth a giant beast to confront the Defender of the Light. Entertained, Ansem kept himself in the Darkness watching and taking notes on the two warriors. He would’ve been happy to stay out of the mess; however, a movement caught his eye and the Heartless eyes turned to see what it was. Oh? A cruel smirk appeared on the Heartless’s face as he saw his Half Heart ally once again. It was true that he had abandoned him back at Radiant Garden, but thanks to how useful this particular being was, he let the mishap slid. Regardless of the past, the appearance of Vanitas here provided a very unique opportunity to gather even more data. While the child did indeed appear to be helping the Light warrior, Ansem knew better than that. Vanitas was much to stained to be kind to the Light, but since he had decided to play good guy Ansem decided he would have to play the bad guy. Materializing from the darkness surrounding the attacking army, a tall elegant figure with a brown cloak draped loosely over its body would appear slightly behind the white cloaked leader. Raising one hand and pointing towards Vanitas and the Defender of Light, three Corridors of Darkness would open at once unleashing into the chaos three unlikely allies to the enemy. The first to appear was an Orcus, the stronger cousin of the Invisible Heartless. Flapping its wings and screeching, it stayed back as it sought to help out the larger attacking creature by firing a round of orbs towards the Defender of Light and his Dark ally. While the creature attacked, two smaller creatures in the shape of tiny green bells appeared. The pair of Green Requiems each chose a partner to aid. One hovered by the Orcus while the second hovered high above the attacking Ugallu. Each made sure to stay out of the way as they waited for opportunities to aid their allies. Meanwhile, their summoner lowered his hand and simply watched to see how well the Half Heart could act and how the Defender of Light would treat a different sort of threat. _______________________________________________________ ~Cooldown~[/u] Heartless Summon: Mixed Summon: 1 Orcus – 10 HP 2 Green Requiem -5 HP each Cooldown kicks in once all are destroyed. Attacks used:Energy Balls: A wave of 10 energy balls is shot towards the enemy. If hit by the balls, light damage is taken and the ability to defend is lowered. The more that hit the higher the damage.

The now Prince of Vahalla drew in a sharp breath through clenched teeth, facing the overwhelming odds he was up against. As the huge Ugallu beast drew forth, surprised and then relief washed over his expression as a new warrior entered the fray. This warrior had a keyblade... and there was the immediate impression that he was all about the darkness. And yet, this warrior struck at the huge wolf with a twist of his weapon. So he was not with the Chaos, but rather against it? He didn't know this keybarer's intentions, but he was grateful for any help at this point.
"Thanks." he drew out in a tensely released breath, not having the opportunity to further speak his mind as the massive canine let loose a huge Roar. Protect, Shell, and Brave came into effect over the creature itself. Then, it lunged in retaliation at Vanitas, swiping a huge claw attack at him with powerful ferocity. After the attack, it leaped back, getting down on it's haunches to attack again. Noctis prepared himself to attack, before the both of them were ambushed by yet another different darkness. "Damn... Heartless." he spat as if they were the scum of the earth, watching a large Heartless appear he had never seen before with two, smaller green-colored Heartless. He got the jist of the large one's sword, but what did the two smaller ones do? They had two small straw hats, pointy as if they were... wizard hats? They had to be some kind of spellcasters for long-range support. But why were they here, with Noctis being a Lord of the Dead, not sensing any dead souls that needed guidance they could have come from? He looked quickly towards the sinking white cloaked-man in the shadows, seeing another cloaked figure in dark brown.
What the heck was it with evil men and cloaks?
Regardless, already having used Coat of Arms, he was not quick enough to summon it again as the large Orcus attacked with orbs of darkness. He brought up Falchion and used it to try to block them, but one of them tore past him, scathing him across the arm and seeping like corrosive acid into his armor. He grunted, having been pushed down on one knee from the force of the speeding projectile, using Falchion to push himself back up onto his feet. Times for a quick change of tactics... he could not give up. He could not afford to loose, for the last hope for humanity for this world meant that he had to hold the line from entering Etro's Shrine. He could not, would not lose when everything was one the line.
With more enemies present, Noctis' power grew, and he summoned a second short sword into his hand, dual-wielding them. He charged into battle fiercely, and while the Ugallu beast was hunched down to lunge, he threw Falchion forward to teleport slashing horizontally and hard into the creature's skull. Next, he rolled out of the way and past the giant wolf, throwing his short sword towards the giant Heartless. While he did, he summoned his handcanon gun, shooting the smoke-trailing projectile towards the Heartless... which missed. It was never meant to hit as it was a distraction, and so was the short sword however, as it had stopped short of the Heartless for the defender of Etro to use Teleportation to teleport above the Heartless for a giant slash veritcally downwards with both weapons.
Once done, he landed and backflipped with arms outstretched clutching the short sword and with the handcannon having been dismissed beforehand, his Falchion in the other hand. He and this new darkness boy were the only ones defending the last bastion of hope for this world now... they had to survive and defeat the enemy. He had to.
Everyone was counting on them, or this world and all it's people would be forever lost.

Snow had been given the mission by Hope to find more information about Xehanort and his little friends. Snow couldn't stand information gathering, he much rather fight than push papers and hold interviews. Snow sighed as he flew his airship from world to world. He figured that he might as well get a head start; he knew that Hope was probably gonna send him out with a group to get "information" about this group that Xehanort was trying to put together but...something brought him to do some of this work alone...he didn't know why. As Snow flew his airship through the worlds, he had come across what seemed to be large wispy mess of colors, circling each other... Snow didn't understand what it all was, but then he remembered something. This entity before Snow looked identical to the thing that brought him into this new universe. Snow widened his eyes at the portal. Snow figured that if this portal put him in this universe then maybe...just maybe, this same portal will take him back to Pulse. Snow flew straight into it, without a moment's notice...
It was then that he appeared in a place that...didn't look like Pulse at all. What he saw...was something quite strange... He saw a large piece of land surrounded by dark purple matter. He saw only two cities and a huge castle-like building. Snow figured that he might find something essential there and so he flew his airship then. However, once he got there, all he found was a large-scale battle. Snow widened his eyes as the battle unfolded under him while he was flying his airship. He then saw someone clad in shiny armor...Snow thought it to be Lightning so he flew toward the shiny figure. It wasn't Lightning but it was someone just as important...it had been the man that had helped Snow when he was first transported outside of Pulse. It was Noctis...
Snow immediately landed his airship some meters away but not too far away, just in case he and his friend needed to make a quick getaway. It was then that he dropped the ramp and hauled himself full speed to the battlefield. He ran as fast as he possibly could. Once he got to the battle, he shoulder bashed his way through the monsters that seemed to be attacking Noctis. When he finally saw Noctis, Snow saw someone with him. Snow got a bad feeling from him but but he knew that appearances could be deceiving, after his friend Cid Raines was affiliated with the Sanctum but he still help him and his friends. Snow called out to him as he gave a punishing body blow to one last monster that was in his way.
"Noctis!!! You alright?! Let's even these odds!!!", Snow yelled, as he finally reached his location.
Snow looked to the large wolf that Noctis and his friend seemed to be facing. Snow remembered this monster, it looked like one of the ones that he and his friends faced when they were on Pulse searching for answers. He got ready for battle; He clenched his fists and his trenchcoat began to glow gold as Snow began to activate his weapon, the Wild Bear. The Wild Bear was a trenchcoat of AMP technology which held strength boosting emblems in the forms of various patches that resemble the face of a bear and runes sewn onto the back of his jacket. These patches and runes made themselves known as they began to fade into visibility. He then clenched both of his fists and heaved his fists into the ground with all of his might, using the magic spell Quake to get rid of all of the cannon fodder. It was a wide area attack so it should have gotten rid of most of the cannon fodder and hurt the wolf-like monster. He didn't know if he could hurt the Heartless that were floating in the air but it was worth a shot. The search for info could wait; Snow had a friend to protect...
Powers Used:
Quake: Snow will clench both fists and then punch the ground once. When this happens, the ground will shake and the earth will begin to break apart and dirt geysers will rise from the ground from under Snow's enemies, causing huge Earth-elemental damage. (3 post cooldown)

This was insane. The rest of the smaller monsters reaching them, Noctis being overwhelmed as a small group of insect monsters from the enemy army shot magic at him. Just before they would overwhelm him though, help would come in the form of a muscular hero who's heart was as big as his own size. He destroyed the monsters as he plowed through them like a speeding bulldozer, and Noctis called out a small laugh of relief. "Snow! Glad you could make it. Yeah, let's do this!" he nodded.
Snow punched into the ground with a massive amount of force, causing a devastating Quake spell to ripple out in a shockwave through the ground. Even though the Ugallu wolf monster was the only one to be damaged by the shockwave damage in the ground underneath it's feet, the Heartless also took half the damage by the dirt geysers that shot up underneath them. Ugallu moved next to face the new threat, lunging forward with a intimidating roar to savagely Bite Snow Villiers around his abdomen with it's massive jaws. Whether that failed or not, it moved on to spread the damage, using it's most powerful attack next. It spewed out a cloud of poisonous gas at Vanitas and Noctis, using Virulent Breath to inflict Poison status on them.
And then there was the annoying Heartless to deal with, as their master the Seeker of Darkness faded into the engulfing chaos after the White-Hooded Cloak. Orcus vanished momentarily, it's sword gaining a life of it's own as it hovered along the ground horizontally, attempting to stab through Snow, Noctis and Vanitas three times as it made passing zig-zag runs thrice through them all. Finally, it finished as the Orcus reappeared and grabbed the sword within a circle of flame on the ground, pausing momentarily. If the opposing warriors could follow the sword and bravely attack it at this point with a rapid attack, it was it's greatest weakness, but nether the less it would thrust it's sword into the ground to quickly punish them with a shockwave whether it was interrupted or not. Lastly, the Green Requiem Heartless used Cure to heal not only the Orcus of damage, but the Ugallu as well.
Noctis was not done yet, though! The Virulent Breath had struck him, inflicting Poison status on him, but it was a minor setback for the moment. He watched as the Orcus's sword disappeared, noticing it was flying in a straight line towards himself, Vanitas and Snow. "Heads up!" he warned, feeling he may be too late to warn Vanitas since he was closer to the sword's first pass through them, raising his Falchion to block the first pass-through. However, he had not encountered this species of Heartless before and did not know the sword would turn around and boomerang back through, getting sliced across the back as he was not watching it and grunting angrily in annoyance and pain. We was more wary of watching it and his enemies this time, flipping backwards over the large knife's edge on it's third pass-through them all. The Heartless would throw it's sword in the ground closer to Snow and furthest from Vanitas, so with Noctis being a medium distance away he was also hit with the shockwave and the resulting debris that was thrown up.
Not to be beaten, it was his time to act. First, he activated his trap upon the heartless, using a hand gesture as the rest of his weapons would appear and attack the Heartless from behind where they had been summoned and invisibly hidden activating Telekinesis. The weapons would then disappear back to the void arsenal of weapons Noctis wielded, leaving him with his Falchion. His Shortsword had been dismissed with those weapons from his left hand, in order for him to cast his telekinesis, and the following magic he was about to do. He cast next Thunder, aiming for the giant wolf known as Uguallu. As he did, the wolf glowed a orange color as it flinched, and was launched into the air... the defenders had been successful in it's stagger for extra damage, and the tide was now turning in their favor!

BOSS: Ugallu HP: 10 (Snow's Quake (3) + Noctis's Thunder (1) = 4. 12 - 4 = 8) (Green Requiem's Cure = + 2. 8 + 2 = 10 HP.) (Status: Staggered, takes twice/x2 the damage from attacks, can be launched)
Orcus HP: 7 (Took half of Snow's Quake, rounded down to 1 damage) (6 - 1 = 5) (Green Requiem's Cure = +2HP. 5 + 2 = 7HP.)
Green Requiem: (x2) HP: 1 each (Took half of Snow's Quake, rounded down to 1 damage) (2 - 1 = 1HP)
Ugallu's actions:
Roar: Casts Shell, Protect, and Brave on self-target which cannot be Dispelled. Two turns left.
Virulent Breath: Inflicts Poison, which depletes small amounts of health for the next two turns. Three-turn cooldown.
Orcus's actions:
Invisible Sword: The Orcus will possess it's sword, as it sails through all opponents three times, before it reappears to pause momentarily to thrust it's sword into the ground to cause a shockwave. Three-post cooldown.
Green Requiem's actions (as a whole):
Cure: Heals a small amount of health (2 HP per use), two-turn cooldown.
Noctis' actions:
Telekinesis: With little effort, Noctis can summon his weapons out of thin air with magical power, and materialize them anywhere in the free space of the battlefield. They hover within the air and are almost transparent if one doesn't look hard enough, and he can't materialize them into people or objects, so he needs to grab them out of the air and throw them in order to move them around to make offensive use of them in combat for the most part. He can also use his telekinesis to rotate them in the air, both to set a almost invisible trap in a switchblade-motion, or to orbit around his body in his defensive 'Coat of Arms' technique. He can summon one weapon at once, which he always chooses his main weapon, the Falchion as his weapon of choice along with any additional weapons. Even then, he may only use a few at a time, leaving others as back-up for projectiles or to act as a defense. (He can only summon as many weapons as there are opponents in the thread. If he uses a weapon to attack or defend, one post cooldown.)
Thunder: The base spell for casting electricity, with a simple wave from his hand as a gesture, Noctis can cast a single bolt of lightning from above his opponent to strike them. (Cooldown: One post.)
Teleportation: One turn left.
Soul Burst: One turn left.
