(Alrighty another carry over to wrap up. Here's where were and now we can continue. I did not carry over colors for speech.)
Marluxia's Post:
It would seem the Graceful Assassin was “enjoying” the random selections that Corridors were making for him for once more he did not control the path he took. When a Corridor opened along the path of Darkness, the pink haired Nobody had simply walked into it without a worry. When he exited the portal a second later, the Nobody found himself shielding his eyes from the bright light of the sun. Blinking, his vision slowly returned. When he could see, he found himself at a midpoint so speak. An island with greenery and arch upon it to be precise. Behind him, more floating and moving isles leading downward and onto what appeared to be water. Ahead more floating isles leading upward to a large structure that sat high above the sunken area he was in. Around him rushing waterfalls that did not fall downward into the water bellow, but rather raced upward reaching towards the sky. Odd, but trivial enough to be ignored.
The Nobody’s eyes traveled from his surroundings back up to the structure. He was curious as to what it was, so he decided to go to it, but not in the normal fashion. Unlike most who would be forced to try and clamber onto the platform like isles to go up, Marluxia refused to do such a tedious task. Instead, he opened a Corridor, walked through, and then simply exited again when he was within range of the gates of the large structure. Stepping out onto solid ground again, the Nobody looked around the large place. Between its style and size, one might say the place was intimidating and forbidding, but to this Nobody it was simply another castle…and castles he was quite comfortable with.
He moved along the stone walkways taking note of cracks and damages done the place thanks to time and potentially battles. Like Agrabah and that molten place known as the Edge of Madness, this world also had a feel to it—a calm. Chaotic Darkness and gentle Light did not show itself here. Instead, this world felt like what a world should feel like—balanced…normal and to top it off the cursed heat from the other places was absent here. A relief? Perhaps. The Nobody wouldn’t know relief if he saw it. After all, he gave up feelings and pretending to have them when he lost his Heart long ago. What was important was that this place did not seek to chase him off as quickly. He could take his time here and that he would.
Keeping his casual pace, he moved into the shadows of the castle as he approached large doors battered and damage from constant abuse. Whatever held this place together had tried to undo the damage, but it did not change the fact that the doors hung in a crooked fashion and left a gap big enough for someone his size to fit in. All he had to do was duck under the lower hanging part, step over a stray piece wood, and then he was in. If the outside of the castle was grand, then it could not hold a candle to what was inside. The architecture of the building was still as threatening and elegant as the outside underneath all the wear and tear of the place. A fountain was before him, the water still pouring. To his left and right, doors and two large staircases that wound upward to the second floor.
The pink haired Nobody continue to take in other aspects of the place as he moved along. Whatever or whoever owned this place might have been powerful, but had long since abandon the place. Now this giant was just a shadow of its former self. A pity, the place was probably a beauty at one point, Marluxia thought as he moved up the stairs, letting his glove hand move along the smooth wood of the railing as he continued his tour of the place. He passed a vase of wilted flowers and tilted his head slightly as he reached out towards them. The flowers shuttered before gaining some color and perking up again. Pleased with the small amount of color in the otherwise dull place, the Nobody moved on, leaving the vase of flowers glowing slightly with a faint hot pink aura that signal his power to one who knew him well.
He kept walking, entering a door that opened up into a huge library. He was currently on the second floor which was covered with bookshelf upon bookshelf of books….that could prove useful. His eyes moved from the shelves as he moved towards the railing and looked down to the floor below. More shelves and books…a giant maze to precise, but how much in that maze would prove to be—?
“Hm?” the Nobody’s eyes caught the destruction of a table below and a pile of scattered books. Curious, he teleported from his spot in a swirl of flower petals, leaving behind a few slightly glowing petals in the spot he had been in. When he reappeared, he was near the wrecked table and toppled over books. A battle had taken place here between powerful warriors, but who he could not tell. He frowned slightly at the small destruction…unlike everything else within the castle this was recent.
The Nobody observed the destruction for a bit longer before moving slightly to the side of the mess and leaning down to pick up one of the books on the floor. Maybe unlike the mess, these books could help him understand why this place was so fought over and abandoned.
Namine's Post:
Naminé had once again found herself standing at the threshold of the giant iron castle of Hollow Bastion. The giant doors towered over her. They lay in a crocket position that left a gap in-between where the door would normally open. The young Nobody could see just inside to the grand hall. She wonder what on earth made her come back to the place where she and two other were defeated only months ago. Surprisingly the entrance showed every little of that battle from her advantage point where she stood. The witch took a deep breath and walked through the hole into the castle.
As Naminé entered the castle she looked around. Part of the balcony that was right above the intersection of the two stairs was still missing but it looked like that someone may have come and cleaned up the mess that was caused by the meteor that the clown Kefka had sent raining down on everyone’s heads because the door that lay at the top of the stairs was visible again. Naminé was about half way in the middle of the room when her eyes wondered off to her right. A wall once stood on that side but now you could see clear into the next room. She had done that when she lost control of her powers. She shuttered at the hole as she remembered the battle. She had took on a dark persons form and lost control. She could remember much of what happened when the darkness field her empty body and took over. She knew she must have fought with it a few times because she could recall certain memories and images of the fight…all in which she was call to friends and foes alike for help, but before she could see or hear their reaction; she faded away and her voice could no longer reach the surface.
Naminé looked to where the door to the library was. She had come here the first time in order to search the library on anything that would explain anything about Nobodies or why she and other human like Nobodies had return to existence. She wanted to know if she would end up returning to her Other once all was said and done. She didn’t want to return to the Dusk. There was so much that she wanted to see and do. There had to be away to stop from fading back into non-existences.
Naminé was now making her way up the stairs. She climbed with her breath held because it was at this point a month ago where her encounter and battle began in this place. When she made it to the top a sigh of relief escaped from her lips. She walked down the hall towards the door that would lead to the library. As she reached out her hand to push the door open a small pink glow was caught in the corner of her eye. She slowly turned her head towards it and saw a vase of flowers. They looked pretty and the Nobody leaned over to smell them. She looked around at the other vases and saw that the flowers in them were dead. “That is odd.” She thought as she turned towards the living flowers. “If all the other flowers were dead from poor care and destruction…then how come these ones are as beautiful and fresh as they day they were picked?” She looked at the flowers curiously hoping they would pop to life and answer her question. Normally that would be a silly thought to have but the Memory Witch actually knew a place where that was very possible. As she stared at the flowers the pink glow once again appeared around them. Naminé was fixated on them and went into a trance like state. Her eyes duped and for some odd reason the familiar sensation of a heavy hand lying on her shoulder was upon her. A cold and cruel voice whispered in her ear telling her thing that if she didn’t want anyone hurt then she would do this. It was a voice that was telling her what to do. It was powerful and controlling. The space around Naminé seemed to be turning white. She slowly reached out her hand to summon her sketchbook; after all that was what the voice was telling her to do.
A noise in the next room snapped Naminé out of her trance right before her sketchbook appeared. The young Nobody blinked and shook her head. “That was weird. I haven’t felt that in a while.” She said as she turned her head to the library door, but she still kept her eyes on the flowers. She had this strange sense that she now knew how the flowers were still alive. But was it possible that the person responsible was still in the castle? The memory witch ripped her eyes from the flowers and opened the door to the library.
Naminé found herself inside a maze of book shelves. A shadow on the second level caught her eye but she was unable to turn her head in time. By the time she looked the figure had vanished leaving petals swirling in the air were they once stood. The witch’s eyes widen and she quickly attempted to solve the maze. She didn’t want another run in that would cause yet another battle.
Naminé ran to the first bookshelf that was in her way. There was a green book on the floor and a brown book in the place where the green one should have went. The memory witch took off the brown book and placed the green book in its place. The moment that the green book was in place the bookshelf moved out of her way. The next shelf had a row of brown books but one was missing. The witch placed the brown book from before in the row of brown books and once again the shelf moved. She zigzagged through the maze finding books and putting them in their proper places. She could have simply Corridor out of the maze but she was afraid that she would miss any books about what she wanted to know.
Naminé kept her head down because most of the books she need were on the floor. She was finally out of the maze when she saw another book. Without even thinking about the fact that she already cleared the maze she leaned down to pick it up. At that moment her hand touched someone else’s gloved hand. She slow looked up and her eyes met with a pink haired man in a black cloak.
“Ma- Marluxia!” She said standing straight up relinquishing the book to the Organization.
Marluxia's Post
Marluxia had come into the castle searching for information and in turn had discovered a library. As he examining the large room of book cases from the top floor, he didn’t notice that someone else had come to this place along with him. He was much too focused and curious to know information about his new surroundings and what was happening in the worlds to be concerned with sensing people. On the one hand, a person could say the reason behind this casual use of sensing was because the Nobody simply could not sense Hearts and the presences of Light and Dark like others could; however, the truth of the matter was Marluxia could sense if he wanted too. Not well when it came to sides, but he knew if one had a Heart or not and judged usefulness and traitors-in-the- making from encounters more so than if Light or Dark resided in a person. After all Light and Dark were just forces manipulated by those who wielded them. For good or bad was really determined by the person wielding it. Of course, no one walking blinded by justice or greed could see this, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was the tools he could gain from said emotions floating through a being, but that little train of thoughts was for another time. In any case, the true reason Marluxia used sensing so loosely was because in the end, he was not afraid of anyone.
He didn’t have the capability to feel fear and even if he could, he would not. He was the Lord of Castle of Oblivion and held much power in his own right despite his ranking within the Organization. Sure, he wasn’t as powerful as Xemnas, but he had enough power to keep others in line and he could hold out a lot longer than some if he had to fight the Superior. Thankfully, the visit to the The World That Never Was hadn’t drawn too much attention to him, so for the time being he had avoid coming face to face with his past. He was, in a nutshell, without a barrier for the moment. In the end, a bit of overconfidence kept the Nobody from worrying about what was in the area with him. If he encountered trouble, he’d strike it down. End of story.
The Nobody stood on the second floor a moment longer before his eye caught the wreckage of the table and he teleported down to see what he could learn from the destruction. As he was examining the table, he took note of the noises in the room with him. The opening of a door, footsteps and something sliding rose above the whisper of the winds in the old place. The sounds of sliding and footsteps were constant, but the pink haired Nobody was not bothered by it. Whatever it was, was have been coming his way, but he didn’t feel threatened by the sound. So something was in the room with him. So what? He’d deal with whatever it was once it had come to him. He focused his attention on a book that look like it would provide the answers he wanted as the footsteps got closer. He reached down for it at the same time someone else did. His eyes caught the glimpse of a pale hand against his black glove before he was looking up to see who it was.
If Marluxia could express the surprise he got when his eyes landed on the familiar blue eyes, the blonde hair, and the white dress of the young lady before him it would have been quite the sight. He probably would’ve been slacked jaw and a bit confused at the encounter; however, he showed nothing as the girl moved her hand away from the book and stood up straight, letting him have the book. His hand grasped the book as he unconsciously held it loosely in one hand as the girl said his name. Her shock more apparent than his slowly, he stood back up and straighten himself out as he eyed the girl cautiously.
At one point, this girl had been under his control. The perfect tool to be used to destroy Xemnas and capture a keyblader to do his biding. All she had to do was change the way the keyblader remembered things and nothing else. He had actually considered rewarding her for her hard work afterwards, but no. Things just had to turn sour, didn’t they? Cursed Axel. He was the one that lit the flame inside of Namine that gave her the power to fight back and disobey him. Thanks to her disobedience things had gone way out of hand and in the end, he was defeated by that keyblade brat. By all reasoning, he should be furious and destroy her on the spot for what she had done, but the Nobody did not move to harm her or show any signs of the memories that played across his mind so clearly at the sight of her. He didn’t underestimate the girl. With help, she had unraveled his plans and returned him to oblivion and yet by some strange twist of fate, he had been brought back and was now face-to-face with the Memory Witch once more.
He wasn’t afraid of her, but he wasn’t as confident as he would’ve been if the girl had been anyone else. It was more like the defeat by her and that keyblader brat had in a way humbled him, but unlike Sora who he’d fight against if he had to Namine was a different story. He didn’t want to harm her and she was much too useful to be rid of. Why he didn’t want to take her once more under his wing was an obvious one. He simply did not trust her after the last incident, so when he finally did speak, not even the monotone tones he spoke in could hide the uneasiness that this supposedly emotionless Nobody felt. Why had feeling decide to show now? He could not answer, but there was something…something not there before now that he had been reawakened, but this was not the time to be concerned with such things. He had a Memory Witch to deal with.
“Namine. What are you doing here?” he asked keeping a watchful eye on her in case she did anything funny. He was sure she had not forgotten his unkindness to her. Perhaps he should apologize, but then again why should he? She had helped destroy him, did she not? Why should he apologize for simply trying to keep a plan on track?
(EDIT: Namine go on with original plan here. Mar is going to be around longer than expected. Sorry for the flipping and flopping. @_@)

“I-I-I guess I am doing the same thing you are doing here.” Naminé said unsure what to really say at the moment. “That book I thought it might hold some information about Nobodies and their creation. I was just looking for some answers nothing more.” She had finished her sentence rather quickly. She was always trying to explain herself to the organization members. It was a force of habit. Someone higher up gives her an order and she would follow it. If she did anything that was outside of the plan or that strayed away from the plan she was often be brought before everyone to explain her actions. Though most of the time the Organization would come up with explanations of their own for what she did or didn’t do that were more than farfetched but at that time she had no authority to tell them that they were wrong.
Naminé stood before Marluxia like a puppy that did something wrong. Her head was down and her body half slumped…if she had a tail it would have been between her legs in shame. Her whole body shock with fear. Her mind went blank. For someone without a heart she was sure terrified at the moment. “ I-I-I just wanted to know more about what I am. “ Tears begin to form in her eyes as she choked out the words. It was clear that there were shadows of the abuse that her pasted bosses had left in her heart that she still wasn’t completely over. Even though there were times the memory witch thought if she came face to face with one of the 13 members that she would be brave and lash out on them. But that moment now presented itself before her in the form of Marluxia and there she stood shaking, unable to move, and unable to speak the words that should be spoken, not the image she had imagined for this scenario.
Naminé clenched her fist. She could feel Marluxia’s eyes upon her. He was watching her carefully. But for what reason? She took a deep breath. Surly she had scarier encounters then this. She had come face to face with other Nobodies, Heartless, Monsters, and the Darkness itself. She released her breath and looked at the pink haired man in front of her. “I want to find out if Nobodies honestly don’t have hearts or if there are exceptions to the rules. I want to find out why Nobodies like me seem different and act different.” Her voice was starting to become stronger and clearer. Her adventures that she had so far were giving her strength to speak. Images of the battle she fought alongside Vincent on form in her head. That was the day she discovered she could use a Keyblade. Naminé could feel a sting in her side and the memory of the cold steal of Ansem’s blade remaindered her of the pain that she indured and over came. Faces such as Genesis, Selena, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Tifa, Vivi, Caius, and many others both dark and light came into her head, each giving her courage.
“I want to find my heart.” Naminé said with no hesitation and a fire burning in her eyes. “Despite what you or anyone else may say about a person created in the way that I was; I know I have one. And I will find it.” She said with a determined look.

The Graceful Assassin kept a cautious eye on the Memory Witch before him not sure what she might do. Would she attack him for what he did or perhaps run away? Whatever she did he was prepared to take action against her should she prove to be a threat; however, she did not do either of the actions mention above. Instead, she stayed where she was and answered him as she used to when asked a question. Suspicious of her submissive behavior, he kept his face blank of thoughts as he listened to what she had to say. Doing the same thing as he was doing? Ha! He doubted that her information gathering and his own were on the same page at all. For all he knew, she could be plotting something against him at this very moment, so it came as mildly surprising when he heard what she said next. He narrowed his eyes slightly at this answer. She wanted to know about Nobodies and the way they were created and thought the book he held in his hand held the answer? What a strange thing to search for. The answer was obvious was it not?
“You should already know that we were created when our Somebodies lost their Hearts. What more is there to learn of that matter?” he asked not really paying any mind to her rushed sentence. Instead he was focused on her actions. She had her head bowed and her body slumped in shame, guilt, defeat? He wasn’t sure, but it was something he was used to from the past. Submissive and obedient...the way she used to be, but he highly doubted she was the same girl from before. No, something was different. For starters, she was pretty much trembling in fear and while some might’ve said it was an act to throw him off guard, Marluxia was no fool and knew the difference between fake emotions and real ones. She was truly scared, but could he truly blame her for that? He didn’t exact leave a nice memory within her head did he? One would think the fact that she still trembled before him would please this Nobody, but instead it had an opposite effect. It put him more on edge.
A tense silence fell between as each Nobody remained in their respective thoughts, cautious of one another. Then the silence was broken by Naminè’s speaking. To her words the pink haired Nobody simply frowned. To know more about what she was?
“You are what you are Naminè. A Nobody like myself. Why are you questioning that simple fact?” he asked after a while, truly curious as to what would drive her to question her existence. He admitted he had used her as a tool before hand and treated her as nothing more than object; however, he never said anything or suggested anything to the girl that stated she was anything more or less than a shell like himself. He always saw her powers as useful. Nothing more or less. So what had happened between then and now to have her questioning herself and…?
Marluxia’s frown disappeared slightly as he saw tears forming in Naminè’s eyes. The sight was tugging at something within him for just a moment, almost causing him to drop his guard and actually try to help her with whatever she was struggling with. He tilted his head slightly at her as his expression softened for just a bit and then just as suddenly as the small drop in his usual coldness had happened, he had snapped him out of the strange mood. His frown reappeared as a ping of agitation ran through him, not directed at Naminè, but at himself.
Nobodies could not feel. They didn’t have a Heart to do such a thing, so this action of crying and even the earlier fear that even he had bought into were just memories of emotions at play. The only reason this one got under his skin more than others is because she was a really good actress, but he was not about to fall into the trap. No. She wasn’t about to trick him again and yet….were any of these facts his mind told him true? Was he truly empty now that he had been reborn? It was hard to say with all the contradictions flowing within him.
Not understanding why these things were happening to him made the Nobody irritable to say the least, but he did not take it out Naminè as he simply observed her a bit more. He took notice of her deep thought, but also of her fist clenching. She took a deep breath and then released it as she locked her blue eyes on him before speaking once more. As he listened to her speak, listened to the fear and uncertainty melt away, the pink haired Nobody’s frown deepened as he watched her for a moment coldly and a small smirk appeared on his face.
“What is this all of a sudden, hmm? Why so determined to find something that in the end will not change much? Even if you did find your answers, what then? You would still just be you Naminè, so why go digging into stuff that will only give you more trouble to deal with?” Marluxia asked her watching her reaction carefully. While he would not admit this out loud, what she wanted to know was actually something he was curious about too. What was it that made Naminè, Roxas, and even Axel act so well that one could almost believe that the emotions they showed were real? Nobodies were empty shells full of memories right? So how was it that some could attach to one another and form true bonds with another? Why if they were empty could he feel something now? What was it if not a Heart that made some more emotional than others? Questions. Questions. Questions; however, no matter how curious he was about such things or the fact that Naminè had a similar interest, there was no way he was about to suddenly change his mind and trust the witch. After all, couldn’t she read people well? Perhaps she could read his desires and knew what he wanted and as a result of such knowledge was simply toying with him to get him to drop his guard again. It was a farfetched assumption maybe, but he was quite sure it was within Naminè’s power to do what he assumed if she wished to and what better way to get him back for what he had done to her, hmmm? No, he would not fall into this trap and be ruined again!
So when her next words came he was a bit more prepared. As her eyes full of fire and determination locked on his cold ones, she spoke reminding him once more of the girl that had betrayed him. That look. That same look…
He heard her words and respond in a way that even he had not planned. He met her determination with cold fury that clearly showed that like her he had not forgotten about the past. He didn’t attack her or move to cause her any harm, but instead simply glared at her for a few moments before turning and moving away from her, doing his best to calm himself once more. When he reached the bookcase, he placed the book he had in his hand on an empty shelf calmly enough resting his hand on the book for a moment before he turned to look at Naminè. The anger from earlier was still there burning in a dangerous way. He didn’t trust Naminè and her statements and actions gave him only more reasons to become even more cautious of her. When he spoke his next set of words, his voice was quiet and cold.
“You have a Heart now do you? What makes you so certain that there is a Heart for you to find and that it is not lost somewhere like every other Nobody’s Heart? What proof of this claim do you have that you have?” he asked, his arrogance and denial of such a thing being possible making his words more biting than he wanted them to be. He didn’t understand what was happening to him. Why these emotions that shouldn’t have been there were there. The uncertainity and confusion did nothing, but agitate him as he came up against brick walls on his own. Back then, he had nothing to let his frustration out on, but now that had changed as Naminè became the object to lay blame on for this mess. If she hadn’t done what she did back then, he would’ve never had to be reborn. He would’ve stayed as he was empty and sure of himself and his plans, but she had to ruin him didn’t she?
Marluxia continued to boil inwardly as he waited for answer, using every ounce of will power within him to not strike the witch down where she stood. He should get rid of her before she became more a problem and yet…something told him not to. Something within stayed his hand and kept him where he was steaming instead of attacking. Something was telling him to give Naminè another chance and while he did not like this little voice that made these suggestions to him, he obeyed it….for now.

“I know how a Nobody is made.” Naminé said after Marluxia told her the obvious of how Nobodies are made. “There could be more to it than that. Like why some nobodies act differently than others? All Nobodies seem to be created differently right? Some have memories of their pasts and some do not. All of our powers seem to be different and yet they are powers that aren’t connected to our Somebodies. They are our own unique power for us. Do Nobodies truly have no hearts or is that just something that was made up because of the circumstances surrounding their creation? If there is so little know about us then why does there seem to be a rule book on how we are suppose to act? What is our purpose?” She paused for a seconded and her face became soft and empathetic. “Haven’t you ever thought of any of this…ever?”
Naminé watched one of her former bosses. She couldn’t quite figure out what was going on in his head since Nobodies were harder to read…if they could be read at all when they believe that they are empty shells. But for a moment the never changing expression of Marluxia bore a frown. The young girl thought it was the trick of the light in the library and dismissed it...for now.
“I am not questioning what I am. I know that I am born from Kairi lose of a heart. But there is so much more that surrounded that event alone that isn’t typical. The Key of People’s Hearts was involved in my creation according to Ansem. It is a Key that comes from all seven princess’s hearts and their hearts are full of light right? Kairi doesn’t have darkness in her heart so it is the darkness from Sora’s heart that summoned me here. So in a way I am not the Nobody to just one person. I am the Nobody to at least two…eight if you count the Princess and possible even more.” She stopped because she could clear remember another presence inside Sora at the time. “Can you remember how….How you lost your heart?” She asked Marluxia. “There must be a reason as to why you and I and the rest of the organization look human instead of Dusks and creeper and creatures like those. I am beginning to think that it does have something to do with on the day we so called lost our hearts. Maybe we didn’t lose them….maybe it is possible that something stopped us from losing them completely that day…maybe it isn’t that our Somebodies lost them but they were split in two and now we walk as to separate beings.” The memory witch tried to find the words that she was beginning to come to the realization of. “I don’t know if any of this is possible or not. What do you think?” She stopped for a second after asking the organization member that question then added on to what she just said “……Other then I am crazy.” She looked half unimpressed with anticipating/predicting what the pink haired man was going to say.
Naminé could feel the coldness of the stare and smirk on Marluxia’s face. It was strange but the memory witch was being to be able to read him more. Something was indeed there and she, for some reason became determined to dig it to the surface. She wanted to know how he felt…if he could feel.
She tilted her head at what Marluxia had to say next. “You said that it would change much. You didn’t say that it would change anything. It is true that I will still be Naminé in the end and I am not expecting to be anybody else.” She smiled. “As for why I am doing this the answer is simple. It gives me something to do. It gives me something to work towards, and it doesn’t hurt anyone else in the process. I have been trying to figure out the reaction of people and why they do the things they do. What makes someone Dark and some light. Is there really a difference between them? And where do I fall in that category? Why do I do what I do? Why can I walk separate from my Somebody and react differently to things then she does? And once this is over I might have a better understanding of what a Nobody is or isn’t. The answer may be heart breaking to me or others…but…it is something that I feel I have to do.” Her smile was still on her face but it was clear in her eyes that she was terrified of the answers she seeked. “And as for what I would do after this, well, it would depend on what answers arise. There is more to us than meets the eye. There is more to you as well.”
Naminé looked down at the question of how does she know that she had a heart to find. “I-I-I don’t know.” She said softly. “It is strange. It is almost like something inside me is telling me to search and I will find.” Silence feel again before the memory witch. She spoke softly and meant it with every fiber of her being. “I guess the real situation here is that I want proof that WE don’t have hearts. No one has been able to give us proof. They just say it without knowing anything about us.” Her voice got stronger but still remained gentle. “What proof do they have that we don’t have hearts?”
Naminé looked up into the eyes of the Nobody...no…the man before her. Something was going on with in him. Marluxia was expressing emotions even though his face tried to hide it. He was fighting against something. “What is wrong?” She asked him. “Go ahead let it out.” It then hit her. She knew what he was struggling against. Standing before him now was the very person that had a hand in his demise. She slowly walked up to Marluxia being careful not to show any aggression. She placed her small pale hand on his cloaked arm. She looked up into his eyes. “I- I am sorry. Back then I believed what the organization told me about Nobodies. It was the one and only truth. I must have really hurt you and the others back then and now that is bottled up inside you right now. At the same time though you were hurting another being that had every right to live life the way he wanted to. A lot of people were hurt and betrayed from the organizations plans. And it had to come to an end. You wouldn’t see reasoning and played on another’s emotions. If you had walked away that day you would have been spared. Just like Axel did. If I would have known and believed then what I know and believe now things would have ended up differently.” She would keep her hand there even if he tried to push her away. “You may not believe me but I truly am sorry that thing turned out they way they did all those years ago.” Naminé finally let go of his arm and stood there waiting. “If you wish you have the right to take your anger out on me. Keeping your emotions bottled up isn’t good for anyone.” She closed her eyes and waited for the strike.

Marluxia was watching Naminé with cold caution as he did his best to keep himself empty. An impossible feat when so many things were going through his head and body at once. As he watched, her she responded to his comment on how Nobodies were made. As he listened to her, he kept his expression neutral although his eyes showed both agitation and a slight bit of curiosity. She had valid questions that he didn’t have answers for. After all, he wasn’t the research type like Vexen had been nor was he the type to go poking into secrets that others held. If he had been unfocused and curious, he would’ve wandered off his plans and probably would’ve been a different Nobody and maybe if he did have the answers she sought, he wouldn’t have been in the situation he was in now. He would’ve kept his footing…still be in control. Now that the tables were turned and he was brought down to equal ground, he didn’t know exactly what to do, except steam.
He hated not being in control and being a mess that he could barely hold back…and now this. Face-to-face with Naminé, the Memory Witch and the last person he wanted to be falling apart in front of. Despite the challenge he was having to face, he had to admit that what Naminé spoke of held some truth to it. While he could remember bits and pieces of who he used to be, he never could grasp who he really had been or what he had done in his life before becoming a Nobody. He was sure he wasn’t a magical being, so it was a wonder where he gotten his powers from. Did this have something to do with experiments or research? Did it have something to do with the way he had left his former life? And on that note how did he end up as a Nobody anyway? He couldn’t remember. Why? Inwardly, he growled at this. Naminé’s questions were intriguing…and he had to admit that he was actually more curious than he let on to be to find out the answers; however, this was Marluxia, Lord of Castle Oblivion. There was no way he was about to express out loud his curiosity nor show any signs that perhaps Naminé might be onto something. When she asked her question to him. The Nobody simply drew into himself and waved a hand dismissively as if it meant nothing to him.
“I have better things to do than to ponder such things,” he said, refusing to admit the truth as he sought to keep his composure...his control. His answer had been calm enough and his face more or less expressionless. He saw the young blonde watching him careful...and didn’t like it one bit. He wasn’t sure she had caught onto the war underneath his coldness. Those deep blue eyes, innocent and yet tricky all at once. Just how much did she see? And how well could she read someone such as him? The thoughts only put him more on edge. Regardless of the feeling, he held his ground and faced the challenge head on. After all he was much too stubborn to submit and too full of pride to flee. He took the torment and willed himself to keep it in control.
Naminé was speaking again, so he listened. As he did, his eyes narrowed as he absorbed what was being said. Ansem….he had heard a name like that once before, but he couldn’t connect it to the original source. All he could see was Xemnas and had to assume that like most of the Organization that the name was the ex-leader’s original name before he had mixed it up added an X to it. Something Marluxia couldn’t understand to this day. What was that X for and why mix up names anyway…and what had his name been originally? Hmmm….he pondered this for a bit and then pushing the distracting thoughts away he focused once more on Naminé’s words. The Key to People’s Hearts? Was that another keyblade? And if so why did it have such a strange name? What did that mean? The Key to People’s Heats….a blade made out of the Hearts of seven princesses full of light. Huh, so the keyblades were created by Hearts and depending on the Heart depended on the keyblade, so when multiple people’s Heart joined they made one that could control or unlock other’s Hearts? Did that mean it gave the wielder of such a key even more power than the keyblade brats that ran around now? What made it so special, hmm? And what was this?
Sora’s darkness called Naminé to the world since Kairi, a Princess of Heart had no Darkness within her? So the strange keyblade made of the Hearts of the Princess had cleared out the Darkness in Sora? And now what? Naminé was saying she was the Nobody to eight different people? Uh….right…This talk was going way over his head. The Key to People’s Hearts, keyblades, memories, Ansem, Xemnas....Hearts. The whole ordeal was becoming confusing and the fact that he didn’t have the answers or couldn’t even begin to figure out heads of tails of the mess only made the Nobody’s frown as he tried to sort it all out. A slip up in his early fight for control, but at the moment he didn’t care.
He wanted to know the answers and be able to see clear again…and who knew maybe this pointless little quest of Naminé’s actually had some value to it…of course, Marluxia wasn’t about to admit this, so when she asked her next question, he glared at her coldly still moody, but surprisingly more cooperative than before. He didn’t want to admit the truth, but there was just no way lying out of this one and quite frankly he was becoming exhausted from the mental battle, but he didn’t answer her right away either. Instead, he leaned back against the bookshelf crossing his arms as he regarded Naminé for a moment weighing his options. If he cooperated with her he maybe he could get her to trust him again and in turn be able to have her under him once more. It certainly would help him keep an eye on her, but the only problem now was that this path required that he actually work on the same level as her. He couldn’t be the dominate one anymore or try to use her. He’d have to play on equal ground. Now that was almost asking too much of the Nobody, but…if he did do this, he could keep an eye on Naminé, who he still wasn’t sure of and maybe even get his answers. On the other hand, if he played this game, he risked falling to ruin again. Hmmm…what to do? He thought for a second longer and then deciding to throw his lot in with chance, he answered the question carefully as the confused frown vanished and his features became relaxed once more. His earlier anger and coldness towards the Memory Witch was still there, on a lower scale.
“Now that you mention it, I don’t remember,” he said reluctantly not liking to admit this truth. After the words were out, Marluxia fell silent and waited a moment to see how Naminé may react what he said. Would she take advantage of this or leave it be? Another silence passed between them and then Naminé was speaking again. Now she was speaking on why they had human forms and that perhaps maybe they had Hearts all along. That perhaps they’re Hearts were freed when they were separated from their Somebodies. A Heart split in two? That seemed to go against all logic. There was no beat within his chest that would suggest that even a small piece of Heart was within…and yet, there was this battle with emotions he was having right now and he did exist when he shouldn’t even be breathing. So maybe she wasn’t too far off the mark. Of course he wouldn’t tell her this as his attention turned to her question. She was asking him for his opinion….and that is where the hard part came in. In order to answer that he would have to Admit he agreed with her to a point. As she paused, he watched her for a minute with what appeared to be a bored expression and then he heard the words added on and smirked at this. What did he think?
“I think that you have truly lost it,” he said with a cold chuckle and then unexpectedly added onto his own words as his smirk and mocking tones disappeared as he became serious again. “…and yet…you do raise some valid points…” he said not daring to admit he agreed with said points any further or admitting he too wanted to see the end results of this odd little quest. He wasn’t one to ask for help or go against his own ways, so just getting that simple half sentence out was enough to wear the Nobody down. He was uncomfortable and definitely not in his usual state of control. That much could easily be felt….and it would seem Naminé had indeed caught onto this little fact. As he watched her, he could see determination still in her eyes, but what that determination was aimed at he was….afraid….yes afraid, to know, so he tried to ignore the look instead.
When she responded to his words on how effective this little quest was, he wasn’t surprised at the first part of her answer; however, the smile and words that followed caught him off guard. She was doing this because it gave her something to do? A purpose then? No...not a purpose just something she wanted to do and learn regardless of the consequences. She sought understanding and yet as he watched her, he could tell she was scared to know the answers. She was…similar to him then. They both wanted answers…both were afraid of what might be revealed...it’s just that Naminé was deciding to face the issue instead of rebel against. He had to give her credit for her bravery, even if the whole thing didn’t makes senses and sounded like insanity. The turn of events gave new light to Naminé that helped lessen the Nobody’s anger and coldness even more, but in turn added onto his confusion and caution. Just what on earth was she and how had the tables been flipped against him? While this went through his mind, he regarded Naminé calmly, doing his best not to let his thoughts show; however, her last set of words made him look away unable to hold her gaze any longer. More to him than met the eye? How could she be so sure of that? And could she…could she be right? He pondered the question for a moment and then looked up as she responded to his last question. The subject he had snapped at her about. The girl was looking down admitting she didn’t have the answers and yet she still wanted to find proof that what was said about Nobodies was true. Now, that was at least logical and he could understand it clearly. Heh, so it would seemed that no matter which way he tried to flip the coin, the fact remained she would stay on her path find her answers, but the question was should he join her and get his answers too? Hmmm….
The Graceful Assassin considered what had been said, debating on the best course of action. It seemed like his earlier plan of being cooperative might just work, but that still left the issue of trust. Sure, she had saved herself from his wrath by keeping his interest up until now. She had given him much to ponder, slowly knocking down the earlier agitation, making him calm once more….Then just as quickly as the calm came, it was shattered. As the Memory Witch looked into his eyes, she confirmed she had picked up on the battle he had been waging with himself internally. Her question resulted in a cold glared, but no answer even when she suggested that he should get whatever it was out of him. Oh it would be nice to let all out, but if he did that he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to pull himself back together again. So instead, he simply shelled up even more as his relaxed position against the bookshelf became slightly more tense. When she seemed to understand something and began walking towards him, Marluxia pushed himself back into a standing position. He wanted to keep his distance from her, but he couldn’t back up and even if he could he would’ve held his ground. He wasn’t about to show fear, especially not this one.
Sure he was uncertain, but he would not lose face here. Whatever she was planning could be stopped if it was threatening to him. She was unarmed, so striking through that small frame would be easy enough for Dahlia; however, for the moment he didn’t summon his weapon. She was coming forward, but not in a hostile way. What was she up to? On edge, Marluxia let her approach him and did not flinch at her touch. As she looked up into his eyes, his cold blue ones met her gaze as she began to speak. She was…apologizing? He watched her expressionless for a moment as he listened. Slowly, anger began building up within him at her words. How dare she think she knew anything about his suffering, his anger at what she and that keyblader Sora had done! Why did she think that apologizing was going to—? What was that?
Now she was trying to say his way was wrong? Who was she to say such a thing? He wanted to break her into a million pieces right then and there….Just to do something, anything to be rid of her, but that little voice in him held him back. Infuriating. The girl continued. Now she was speaking on the people hurt by what the Organization had planned and how he would’ve been spared if he had simply walked away from it all like Axel had. As if he’d do such a thing. No his plan had been perfect and if it weren’t for that said red-head, he could’ve gotten away with it and succeeded, but oh no that was too much to ask and he wasn’t the one that couldn’t see reason? What did she know? And what was that? Things would’ve gone differently if she knew what she knew now? What was that supposed to mean? Would she have let him win? Doubtful. She probably would’ve still tried to get in his way and tried with all her might to stop him. She would still have brought him to ruin….right? He steamed even more unable to answer the question.
Out of habit and agitation, he tried to brush her hand away, but her hand remained firm on his arm. The nerve of this li..? The thoughts halted as the younger Nobody continued to speak apologizing again before letting his arm go and then giving him a choice to make. As she closed her eyes and waited for his decision, Marluxia took the moment to gather himself.
Was he angry…no there was no words to describe the explosion of emotions inside of the Nobody at the moment. There were too many. Hate, anger, revenge…fear. They all toyed with him making him want nothing more than to strike down the creature that had brought such things upon him full force—Naminé. He summoned Dahila with all intention of striking the girl down to act upon that impulse to destroy all that had ruined him. He raised the scythe and let its crimson blade fall; however, the blade did not hit Naminé.
With a distinct thunk, the blade buried itself a small ways into the hard floor of the library. The scythe was upside down now firmly between himself and Naminé. He…couldn’t kill her. No matter how angry he was with her. He just couldn’t. The Nobody couldn’t explain why this was the case, but something inside him told him it was wrong…that he’d get nothing out of the quest for revenge…. and there was no reason to pursue something without gain now was there? The elegant Nobody, leaned against the handle of his weapon as he leaned downward so that he was on level with Naminé. When she opened her eyes again, she’d find she was alive and unharmed, but now looking into Marluxia eyes; however, unlike before he was not hiding what he felt.
She would be able to read clearly the anger and hurt there, but also the hint of something else. Curiosity and slight appreciation perhaps? It was hard to tell.
“Don’t count yourself lucky yet,” Marluxia began quietly. “I don’t forgive what you or Sora did to me, but I can’t just go killing you off now can I? That would be much too easy. So I’ll let you live,” he said and then smirked slightly, his expression softening just a tiny bit. “Perhaps you can redeem yourself and prove that you are still worth tolerating, Naminé,” he said before standing up straight once more, dismissing Dahila as he turned and walked away from Naminé before coming to a rest to the left of her. He wouldn’t say that her words were indeed appreciated and that it was the apology was more or less accepted. He wouldn’t admit that despite how much he wanted to see her crushed that there was something about her now that caused him to respect her a little bit more than before and that he actually want to see what would happen if she was left to live. It was a dangerous chance to take. After all, she could bite him in the end, but the Nobody was willing to risk letting happen and deal with the consequences later should they arise.
In any case, despite the earlier display of emotions, Marluxia was back to his normal and calm self now that the emotions had run their course. Sure, he was mentally drained, but at least he was back in control and Naminé not so much a bother to him. She had managed to remain breathing, but that didn’t mean this Nobody liked or trusted her one bit. This simply meant that by some miracle he was giving her the rare second chance. Something he gave to almost no one except those that perhaps held something of worth taking the risk. Now, the question was what would Naminé do with this second chance?

Naminé awaited her fate with her eyes closed. She had no real idea what Marluxia was going to do. She has said so much to him in hopes of getting him to feel something. She played on his good side, his power side, his upset side, and his bad side. She hit every button she could think of to get him to feel for the first time…Well maybe not the first time but at least feel to the point of admitting. She wanted to show him that he did have emotions and that it wasn’t just an act. The truth was that she wanted to show all Nobodies like them that there was something more to them than others thought. Though the young witch was trying to get the Graceful Assassin worked up, everything she said to him she felt to be the truth. She wasn’t toying with him or manipulating him in anyway. She wanted him to feel anything and everything.
Naminé could hear the scythe being summoned. Every weapon had a specific sound when it came to its wielder. Naminé eyes shut tighter. She braced herself as the wheels in her head turned for what could be the very last time. The sound bladed cutting throw the air filled her ears, her hand flexed but then relaxed. A strange feeling of peace watched over her as the blade drew near. Finally thud sounded out as the Scythe feel but it didn’t slice the girl. The young female Nobody was still standing; unharmed.
The Memory Witch stood there with her eyes closed for a moment. The eyelids soften as well as her face. She took a few breaths then opened her blues to find Marluxia staring in to them. His faithful weapon stood lodged into the floor only inches from the girl in white.
Naminé listened her Marluxia’s words as she could see all the emotions that she has inflicted on him in his face. Her reflection mirrored back at her in his blue eyes and she could see all the outcomes of the situation being played out. However, her face remained neutral. She didn’t want to over stimulate the man especially when her was so close to her and had his weapon near. She spoke with a calm, sweet voice with a hint of something eerie behind it. “I can’t say that you are forgiven by Sora and I for what you have done either. It would seem that in each other’s eyes we are both at fault and think that the other has done wrong. So it looks like we are on the same page on that subject.” She smiled softly. The smile would appear even before she had spoken her words. It came at the point when Marluxia would say that it would be too easy to just kill her off. She really didn’t think she would be able to go one on one with the Organization member but he would find that it would be as easy as he thought. She wasn’t the same little girl that was imprisoned within the walls of Castle Oblivion.
Naminé and Marluxia were standing side by side but facing opposite ways. It was strange to think that even the way that the stood now reflected the way they were. The both stood together at this point and were willing to work together, but they faced opposite directions when it came to how they lived there lives and how to go about things. They were the truth behind the saying, ‘two sides of the same coin.”
“You know?” Naminé started. “I think you will find me more useful when I can do things of my own free will Instead of keeping caged up like a pet bird and making me do things for you.” As she said this she lifted her right arm out in front of her. Her hand closed into a fist and in a flash of light the Keyblade Destiny’s Embrace appeared. She looked up to her left at Marluxia and smiled. The Multi colored Key gleamed in the dull light of the library making things seem brighter than they were. Then in the same fashion that the Keyblade had come, it was dismissed.
Naminé walked in front of Marluxia. “So let’s find out together how worthy I am.” She reached out her hand to the Organization member with a smile. If Sora and Riku had been watching this scene it would have looked a lot like when Sora had reached out his hand to Riku when they were in the Realm of Darkness and he said, “We’ll go together!”
“Will you do this with me? Please.” Naminé asked allowing Marluxia to be in charge of his own destiny and deciding for himself. She wasn’t that powerful on her own and she knew that. She could do more when people told her what to do. People could think of thing that she never thought of when it came to using her powers. She had lived for so long with people telling her what to do that trying to do things on her own was difficult. She needed people by her side. She didn’t want to be alone on the fateful day that she find out what she and the other Nobodies truly were. She needed people to be her emotional rock when she did find her heart and if it turned out that she didn’t have a heart after all and that she was meant to do something bad…then she needed those very same people to be able to destroy her because she, as of right now, didn’t want to live like that. And Marluxia would be able to do it without a second thought.

The buttons had been pushed and the test of vengeance passed as Dahila cut her arc through the air and towards the girl, but did not claim flesh. Naminé was waiting for death to come. He watched as the female Nobody went from calm to tense to calm again within that moment that his scythe came for her. It was a strange sight that made the Nobody wonder what was going through her head in those moments that seemed like her last. He never considered that others might be afraid of dying for he was not afraid of it himself. For years, both in his time as a Nobody and probably in his life time as a whole person, he had done nothing, but given death to others. First to it was to those that were a threat to the Organization, then to the Heartless, and finally to any who stood against his plans or became useless. Death was his trade, so he had become accustomed to it and unafraid of it. Even on the day Death had turned to bite him instead, he remained unshaken by it. He died in anger knowing he had not completed his task….that purpose which was almost grasped. That old purpose that was wiped away with his death and left him lost once more when life had decided to claim him again and bring him back into the world.
Purposeless, he had wandered the worlds using his anger as a guide, planning to exact his vengeance upon those who ruined his plans. He had sought out pawns to use or things to break to get back at the ones he hated. He wanted to crush them and then….emotions begin to appear in the man and threw the Nobody into a world of chaos where his purpose was shaken and he became lost again. He wandered that landscape of twists and turns going first to the Organization which at that moment seemed as if they were simply repeating Xemnas’s plans of building another Kingdom Hearts. A plan that he would play along with as long as he got clues or answers to the confusion that were the emotions within him. Maybe rebuilding Kingdom Hearts could indeed lead him to understanding…to his Heart once more. The idea was indeed grand and exciting, but he had seen the results of the previous plan similar to the one that Saïx wanted to carry out. It had failed no doubt thanks to the keybearers meddling, so his faith in the plan was low. Even so, the encounter had been start.
Even if he could not find the answers that way, he would be able to watch the members still loyal to Xemnas and in turn plan things to stop them should they become a threat. From there, he went back to wandering until he had come here and found without looking, Naminé… a great source of his anger and hate that had been held back until now. He had wanted to shred the girl as she forced memories and things to the surface that he rather not remember or face. He wanted her dead, but the more she pushed him, the more he found he simply could not do what he thought he wanted to do. Those emotions that had been growing within him told him not to harm the girl and for the first time in a long time, he obeyed these forgotten feelings as questions of where the emotions came from floated back to the forefront. Questions that would not be pondered if he had a Heart; however, he didn’t have one….or so he had been told.
Nobodies were supposed to be empty…and yet here those emotions were…tormenting him in ways he didn’t think possible. Emotions, after all, were things associated with the Heart…and then to make matters worse, here was Naminé questioning out loud the very idea that he had kept locked away. The idea that he was a bit intimidated by and nervous to address. The idea that involved having a Heart. What if…what if the whole concept of being empty had been a lie? A lie for what reason Marluxia had no clue, but if it was a lie then was Kingdom Hearts just something to keep them hooked? To make the collected group stay? Again, the question of why came up, but there was no one to answer such things for him.
The questions without answers infuriated the pink hair Nobody and made his anger towards Xemnas burn even more, so with all this emotion running through him, he sought to take the blame out on Naminé, but when he moved to strike he instead found the truth standing clearly in front him. He didn’t want revenge, he wanted understanding and while Naminé was far from being on his good side, he was willing to take his chances with the girl and so his scythe had been turned from its path and landed with a thud into the floor next to the girl.
He watched as the girl relaxed before opening her eyes and meeting his own cold blue ones. He said what he had to say as Naminé remained like a mirror forcing him to face himself, something he had never done and was finding very hard to do, but deep down he knew that this was something that had be done. No matter how much he wanted to blame others and be in denial, the truth was… he really had brought his own downfall upon himself. He had been too blinded by greed and power to see the truth before, but now striped of everything it was all clear…and painful to deal with; however, pride made the Nobody stubborn and he would not accept the truth so easily. Still at least not killing Naminé had been a start in what he hoped was the right direction. It was definitely a step out onto a different path that he could not the end to, but he’d follow it anyway.
When Naminé responded back to his words, the Nobody simply let out a small “Tch.” in response before he moved from his spot in front of the girl and to her side. He let his eyes travel over the bookcases before him as he let her words sink in. He couldn’t argue with her words and while her tone of voice had an odd quality to it, the pink haired Nobody was not afraid of her. Still, the tone had made one point clear enough. Whether he liked it or not, they were indeed on level ground now.
On top of this, it seemed that Naminé had more to show as he saw her smile at his words about destroying her. The smile made him watch her cautiously from his position next to her, curious as to what was up the girl’s sleeve. What did she plan to do, challenge him? No. No. He doubted that. Naminé was indeed powerful in her own way, but this particular Nobody had more experience in the killing department than her. After all death had been his art for years, she wouldn’t win. So what did the young woman know or have that would give her such confidence to smile like she did now, hmm?
He continued to watch her as he heard her words, his eyes narrowing only a fraction at what he heard. What did she mean by that? Let her run free and don’t keep her under his thumb? He thought they had gotten over that hurdle a while back, so why did she feel the need to—
His thoughts came to a halt as he watched her lift her right arm in front of her and summon in a bright flash of light a weapon that was instantly recognizable.
“So the keyblade has come to you now,” the Nobody said his voice calm and quiet despite the turn of events. He considered what she had said before. To allow her to work on even ground as him. It was interesting that she was asking for permission in her own round-about way to do this, but perhaps this was still the lingering remains of the past clinging about her. An interesting note that could’ve easily been taken advantage of by the Nobody if he didn’t know better; however, he had been bitten before by keybladers and he didn’t want to face that sort of fall again. He knew that trying to control a keyblader was indeed dangerous, so while it was still dangerous to let one run free maybe having one running alongside him instead of against him would be a safer bet. Yes. Yes. That would be a smart thing indeed. Besides the girl was indeed proving her worth to him with the actions; however, it still meant nothing if she could not win his trust, but for now she was winning his respect…just a little of it, but some nonetheless.
As the Nobody observed the multi-colored keyblade, his eyes would turn to the girl next to him to find her smiling up at him. He didn’t return the smile as he looked away. Letting out a small, “Hmph” in response. He would not admit that he was impressed at how far she had come since his absence nor would he give her any form of praise…although behind that hmph was a hidden acceptance of the girl that he was sure the perceptive Memory Witch would not miss. He would indeed work with her and see what he could learn by taking this path alongside the girl that was once a tool and enemy. It would take some work to get him to see her as just her, but with work perhaps she could help him find who he really was underneath it all too. Only time would tell the results.
After a moment, Marluxia heard the weapon being dismissed and heard Naminé moving. Before he knew it, she was before him again. She made her offer before asking for him to come along for the ride, and then held out her hand to him with a smile. Marluxia watched her for a moment, thinking. The pair had an understanding of each other and knew that while they hadn’t exactly started off on the right foot beforehand, here was a chance to forgive the past and start on a new path together. It was…nice to have someone that was by your side not by force, but by choice. Someone who was an ally and potentially someone who could become a friend in the future.
Both ideas were foreign concepts that made the sure footed Assassin a bit uncomfortable, but he wasn’t about to back away from the challenge or run from the thoughts. No, he was through with running. It was time to face the truth…no matter how hard it was to swallow.
Naminé had work to do to gain his trust fully, but he too had some making up to do. While he didn’t know what might happen or even if he would have to eventually turn his blade against the girl should she become a threat, the Nobody willing stepped onto the unseen path and took his chances; however, just because he was accepting her offer didn’t mean he was going to be sweet about it. No. That just wasn’t this flower’s way.
Marluxia saw Naminé offer her hand, but instead of taking it. He folded his arms and looked away from her. A grumpy expression crossing his face as his more stubborn and prideful side showed.
“I told you before you had to prove your worth to me, so there is no need to ask me to come along,” he said refusing to shake hands on the matter. Instead, the deal was sealed with his words. There was no turning back now.

“Yeah I am not sure why the Keyblade came to me. It just happened during a fight with a strange creature. I saved Kairi by pushing her into the Corridor of Darkness. I know the darkness wouldn’t have an effect on her due to her heart being so full of light and pure. It was the safest place for her then.” Naminé explained to Marluxia as he was keeping a close eye on her and her knew found ability. “I must have caught her by surprise when I pushed her because she let go of the Keyblade and it fell to the ground as the portal closed. I found it strange that it didn’t just beam back to her and instead lay where it fell. I went over and picked it up expecting it to vanish from my hand and return to where it came from…but…..it didn’t. It stayed in my hand and I used it for that battle. A friend that came to the rescue and I won that fight. I thought the Keyblades help was a onetime thing. That it just stayed because it knew somehow that I needed its help more than anything at that moment. But it turns out that I have been able to summon it ever since.” She smiled. “Maybe the Nobodies that wield a key might have some hidden clue to whether or not a Nobody has a heart. After all I have come to realize that in order to wield a Keyblade you need a strong heart. Sora, Master Riku, Yen Sid, Princess Kairi, King Mickey, and many other Keybladers I have met have an extremely strong heart to guide them. Whether that heart is full of Dark or Light doesn’t matter on bit to the Keyblade.” Naminé paused to think for a moment on the subject. She had learned quite a bit from watching others and being involved. “However, Roxas, Xion, and I can wield a blade but we are said to have no hearts…that isn’t possible due to what is need for a Keyblade wielder. So it doesn’t make sense. Also with all that being noted I wonder I it is possible for someone to learn to wield a Keyblade? You know like say they are able to build up the strength of their heart. And how would one go about strengthen ones heart.” Naminé thought for a moment and then sighed. “I have more question then answers.” She bowed her head in slight defeat. She thought it might be best to just let the subject sit for a while and then come back to it.
Naminé was finding that she was becoming less and less afraid of Marluxia. He was trying to pass himself off as a tough guy but there was really something more under all that. A troubled somebody passed, a betrayal that run deeper then hers did? She didn’t know but she wanted to find out. What kind of history did he have as a Somebody? Did the life he led as a Nobody have anything to do with it? More question and no answers. She was guessing that who he was back then as a Somebody didn’t really matter just like who he was a few years ago as a Nobody didn’t matter. It all came down to what was happening now and what would happen in the future.
Naminé’s hand what out to the Graceful Assassin. He did not take it so the Memory Witch just grinned at him. To tell you the truth she probably would have been surprised if he did take it. She knew he didn’t trust her and she couldn’t blame him. The book that they two of them had reached for caught her eye again. She went over and picked it up. She sighed. “I guess a book like this wouldn’t have the answers to what a Nobody really was after all.” She said as she read the title. “But the funny thing is that it does hold some uniqueness to the situation at hand.” She said to Marluxia. “It is a book on Cause and Effects. The way a person lives their lives, the choices they make, and the outcome of it all.” She smiled.
Naminé goes back next to Marluxia. “Well now. Where do you think we should start? With the Keyblades and Wielders, with the Organization? Where do you think we can start getting some answers? I am guessing that there is none this library after all. Or should we have a look around?” Naminé took a chance and grabbed one of Marluxia’s hands from his crossed arms and began to guide him. She would let him be the man in charge of this quest since he had more experience than she did with these kinds of things, but she would have to be the one in charge of his emotions without him knowing that she is doing so. She had to make sure that he felt something and could tell her about it in every situation. Even when they had to split up, she wanted to know what he was feeling but at the same time do to his personality she had to make sure that he felt like he was the one in charge of everything.

Marluxia stayed where he was being his usual stubborn self as he observe Naminé as she spoke. She had definitely changed since he had last seen her. She came off as weak and submissive at first, but right now she was proving that she was more useful and strong than she let onto be…and while the line of trust was indeed shaky between the two thanks to the past, Marluxia found himself unable to hold much malice towards the girl. There was something about her that drew him towards her rather than repelled him. There was an instinct to want to understand and protect her…an instinct that felt natural and almost familiar and yet…it was as foreign to him as kindness and friendship. The strange feeling made him want to shrink away from it, but at the same time follow it to see where it went. He knew this could not be possible.
He was a Nobody…a shell, so how was it this mess had crept into him? Why had it crept into him when he was suppose to be empty and if there was a Heart there why could he not physically feel or hear it beating within? Had he truly lost his Heart and when he had died and been reborn it had come back? He pondered the questions for a moment. Nobodies were created when a strong Heart was separated from the body, the shell moved about thanks to the original’s strong will and the “emotions” shown were drawn from memories of who you once were. Keyblades could tamper with Hearts and free them from the body as he had found from working with keybearers, but he couldn’t remember facing a keyblader before becoming a Nobody. In fact, now that he thought about he really couldn’t remember who he was or what had happened to make him into a Nobody. Sure, he got a fragmented memory from time to time, but he had always pushed them away, ignoring them until now. Who was he really? What was he? And…
What the hell did Xemnas do to me?! he thought bitterly, a frown crossing his face as he thought back on the man that called himself the leader of Organization 13. The whole time, he was with the Organization there were three members that stuck like a thorn in the Nobody’s side—Xigbar, Saïx, and Xemnas. All three of them were hard to figure out and always hiding secrets. They infuriated him to no end, but up until now he could never understand why.
Those three…they knew something, but kept it to themselves. It made the Graceful Assassin wonder about the whole ordeal. Why were their only 13 members to the Organization when he was sure there were other Nobodies out there like them? And what of the keyblade? How did Xemnas know exactly what the keyblade could do and not only that, but was able to create a replica of a keyblader that worked almost the same way? What was the true purpose of Kingdom Hearts…and what was it that Xemnas really wanted from those without Hearts? The questions were endless and only put the elegant flower in a fouler mode. The only thing that stopped him from brooding was Naminé. Her voice was able to cut through the angry haze that was building around him, helping him see clear once more and calm down. He would get his answers in time.
In any case, the frown and agitation melted away from the pink haired Nobody once more as he turned his blue eyes to Naminé, his expression neutral as he listened to her words. She explained to him how the keyblade had come to her when she had saved her Somebody Kairi from danger. She said the keyblade had remained where it was not following the usual pattern of vanishing back to its owner…even when she had picked it up herself and now she could summon at will, yet….she did not have a Heart. Like Roxas, Xion, and even that replica of Riku, she broke the rules that supposedly surrounded the keyblade, the Heart, and Nobodies.
He continued to listen, nodding slightly at her logic. That was true. Maybe being a Nobody was the start of trying to understand the difference between being empty or not. If by chance the Heart was really there, he wondered what happened to it then. Why it stopped physically being there? Did it become a phantom organ or was it hidden within something that kept it from being found? If so…then what on earth replaced the Heart while it was gone? Now, that was confusing. If any of that thought were true then the whole concept behind a Nobody was blown to bits. Of course Naminé only made this odd little thought ring a bit clearer. A strong Heart was needed to wield the keyblade no matter where that Heart rested, so if that was true then Naminé had to have a Heart, but then why on Earth did she and Roxas reside within another if that was the case. Wouldn’t Heart mean you could stand on your own?
Naminé was running along the same thought wave as him. Like him, she too thought it did not make any sense at all. It contradicted everything Xemnas had told them on the nature of themselves. A lie, but for what? Once more the Nobody wondered just what was going on in Xemnas’s head. Too bad, he couldn’t find the Nobody now and beat the answer out of him. This was all very agitating. Looks like the answers could only be discovered the hard way. Well, he suppose that was okay. It wasn’t like he was going to be alone in the matter, right?
His eyes which had moved to the ground as he pondered what was being said looked back at Naminé as she began to wonder about the possibility of someone learning to wield a keyblade. To this Marluxia’s eyebrows rose slightly at that possibility and for a moment, a silence fell between them as they each became lost in their thoughts. Then that silence was broken by Naminé’s sigh and then her words.
As Marluxia listened, he watched Naminé blankly for a moment and then shifting his weight slightly and crossing his arms he responded back.
“Well, at least you’ve gotten a start on what we are to search for,” he said in his usual monotone voice not revealing just how impressed he was with what Naminé had said thus far. After a brief pause, he continued on. “You’ve brought up some points I’ve never considered before; however, as much logic that has been undone in these few short moments, I would not doubt that someone could become a keyblader with work and finding ways to strengthen the Heart, but like you I too have no answers. We will just have to find the answers along the way.”
He finished nodding calmly at the girl who had her head bowed in defeat. There was no reason to pout. All they had to do was work to get what they wanted to gain. Slacking and waiting for someone to give the answers to them was not an option in this Nobody’s mind, a simple fact that he was quite sure Naminé already understood. He didn’t need to warn or threaten her now that they were on even ground. She understood how he worked and knew exactly where she stood on his scale of trust, so it would be interesting to see exactly what would come out of this strange alliance.
Regardless of where this path was taking him, Marluxia agreed to help Naminé even if he did not shake on the deal. In turn, she grinned at him, but he did not smile back as he instead met her brightness with silence and tension. He didn’t know how to react or what to think of the grin, but he knew it wasn’t hostile, but the action confused him still, so he shelled up inwardly instead of trying to figure out the why of the matter.
In any case, the strange moment came and went before Naminé was moving from her spot. Marluxia watched as she moved to the bookshelf and reached up for the book he had laid down on one of the empty shelves earlier. As she grasped the book and scanned it she sighed seeming disappointed with whatever she found. Maybe if given time, Marluxia would’ve questioned why she was disappointed; however, Naminé was soon speaking again, answering the unspoken question.
As he listened, he tilted his head slightly at her first set of words and then became a bit confused as she said the book was still relevant to the situation at hand before explaining it was a book about cause and effect and then applied that simple concept to life itself. He supposed he could see her point in a way.
Cause and effect did impact things in life as she said, sometimes leading to good things and sometimes leading to bad. In the end whatever one did, not only did the action have an impact what was currently happening, but also the action spread out to impact other things surrounding the situation. The ripples spread and altered the way the world was for everything around oneself and while that point of view at times seemed impossible to change or that one moment seemed like it could never be taken back, sometimes time itself looped back to a similar situation and gave one the second chance to repeat or change something done in the past. Like how it did that exact thing now with he and Naminé. A chance to go a different path….hard as it was to believe or do. After a moment of thought, the Nobody nodded at her as he understood her meaning in his own way.
After the nod, he remained in his position with his arms crossed not returning her smile once more as he watched her move once more to his side. When she approached speaking of their next action, he thought nothing of the move or the question. In fact, he was just about to ponder the right course of action and give her an answer when the blonde young lady did an unexpected thing—she grabbed his hand and then with a light pull she began to lead him guide away from his spot.
Marluxia’s first instinct was to pull away, but when half of you is repelled by the action and the other doesn’t really mind, the body has the tendency not to react quickly, so for the briefest of moments, Marluxia let Naminé hold his hand as inwardly he struggled to compose himself. At first, he was tense and then kicking his confusion into a corner, he relaxed once more, his hand unconsciously squeezing Naminé’s lightly before he finally gained control of himself.
Back in control, his grip relaxed in Naminé’s hand as he let his hand slip from her grip. He continued to follow her as his mind shoved away the awkward moment and focused on the business at hand.
“I am not quite sure how much information we can get out of the Organization. I went back to The World That Never Was recently and there I only found two other members outside of myself—Saïx and Deymx. Along with them was the puppet Xion. From what I gather, Saïx is trying to re-create Kingdom Hearts in Xemnas’s place. I don’t see how doing the same thing will change anything, but I’ll watch to see what may indeed come. Since that visit, I have not found another member, but the group is definitely something to watch out for. I have a feeling more will appear in time,” the flower gave his report to Naminé as he continued to follow her pausing for the moment as he thought for a second longer.
“I must agree, it may be best to leave the library for now. I am sure there is probably more of this place to dig into, but I don’t know how much information we could find in this ruin. Besides,” he paused again as he looked out the window seeing the calm skies darken in an ominous way. “I don’t think this place will be welcoming to us for much longer. We should start with the complicated mess of Keyblades and their wielders. I would not suggest going back to The World That Never Was so soon. Saïx is very much aware of me and I would prefer if he did not know that you are walking about or that we have agreed to be allies. The less he knows of the situation the better. We might be able to use this secret to surprise the group should they turn hostile and get in our way. So now the only issue is figuring out where to go now. Any suggestions?” he said giving Naminé a small amount of power in the situation. After all…they were partners, right?

Though Marluxia kept quiet will Naminé held his hand and walked along the book cases she could feel the stages that he was going thru in the way he moved his hand. She felt his wrist go stiff when she first grabbed it and a few seconds thereafter. Though the male Nobody was strong with it would seem that she could have simply snapped his hand off his body with how tense he was. She calmly walked on. Marluxia wrist finally relaxed a bit and she found that he was actually holding her and as his grip became slightly tighter around hers. He was going thru his emotions of the moment and figuring them out. She wanted to glance back and smile at him but she didn’t want him to get tense again. So she walked with her head bowed slightly in silence until the pink haired Nobody’ hand finally went limp and fell gentle from her grasp.
Marluxia still followed Naminé as both their hands feel to their sides. After a few more steps Naminé turned around to face him as he spoke. “They are trying to create Kingdom Hearts again.” She repeated calmly to make sure she heard him right. “Saïx is up to something. I really don’t think Kingdom Hearts is what we have been told it is. And they seem to be the only group still going after it. He knows something. I don’t know what, but I am thinking Kingdom Hearts is either not real or bad news for the worlds and everyone that inhabits them.” She said looking up at the Organization member. “Be careful. There is something wrong with this whole thing and if you are not careful I fear you will be dragged to you end again.” The memory witch eyes went sad for Marluxia being involved with was being planned by the organization. “And there might now be a return this time if something does happen.” She stepped closer to him. “And don’t call Xion a puppet.” She said as an afterthought. “It wasn’t like she asked for this. Hahaha among us all…Xion is probably the most innocent.”
Naminé stepped towards the window and looked at the storm that Marluxia was mentioning. She let him finish talking before answering. “I don’t think going back to the World that Never Was would have been a good idea anyhow. I know it is a place that you and the other Organization called home but I was never really welcome there.” She said with a pained smile knowing that she really didn’t have a place to call home or go back to. And she knew that going back there and having Saïx find out about her might cost her her freedom. A freedom that Marluxia wouldn’t be able to help get back because if he was caught…it would be over for both of them. She really wanted to find out what the man was up to. She had this sensation that he might know something about their existence as Nobodies on a higher level then he let on. But right now she wanted to first have some kind of reassurance before she went in the lion’s den. Which she knew she would have to enter in due time.
“So we start with a Keyblader.” She confirmed. “I only know a few and most of them you know as well. We could try Sora but he is really hard to get a hold of. We would have to set up something similar to what we did last time to draw is attention and with you being involved he might not react to well. I am sure he still carries mental scares from his experience with you.
Riku would be an even worse idea to try to hunt down. He isn’t to found of the Organization for obvious reasons. He would attack first and ask questions later. He is much more hostile then Sora is. If it came down to it we would have a better chance with Sora.
The Keyblader Artemis is another one but I am not sure how much she knows of Nobodies and the Organization. I have been trying to track her down for awhile for my own reasons. She is even harder than Sora to get a hold of. It would be wasted effort to go for her and find out that she doesn’t have any idea what we are talking about.
As for Kairi…well I haven’t been able to get a hold of her since the Unversed attacked us and I saved her.” Naminé paused to think. “I know!” She finally said. “Let’s try King Mickey first. He would be less likely to attack us without hearing us out first. He has been in this mess before any of the other Keybladers, and he is good with research. Even if he doesn’t have an answer for us now…I am sure he can get it. If anything he can at least help us find one of the others and get passed any aggression they have for us. He is one that all of them will listen too. What do you think?” She asked the man behind her. “Is King Mickey a good candidate to help us?”
Naminé placed her hand on the black window seal and her eyes lowered with a pained look. “This world has fallen and is suffering. The people of this world are mostly under the banner of light. It was never meant to be a dark place.” She addressed Marluxia without looking at him. “It is rumored that this world was once beautiful. The princess that came from this world would be heartbroken to see if fall like this.” She said referring to Kairi. “Even if she calls another world her home...this world is still a part of her. I can’t let it be kept in the dark.” She turned and faced Marluxia with fire in her eyes. “Let us take this world back from the darkness! We can let them pick what side they wish to be on. Each person won’t have fall under a banner that they don’t want to be a part of. Those who are dark can be dark and those of embrace the light can do so. Will you help me? I know I can’t do it on my own. Please.” Naminé finished and turned around to face Marluxia. Her back was to the window as the storm grew behind her reflecting more than just this world’s fate now.

As Namine turned to face him repeating what he said about Kingdom Hearts, he nodded at her, sure of what he had heard and saw back then. For whatever reason, Saïx wanted Kingdom Hearts back up in that dark sky. A reason that the pink haired Nobody wanted to find out, but knew he would not get easily. The Nobody found it odd that Saïx would repeat an action that failed, so there must’ve been a different motive behind collecting Hearts again. Kingdom Hearts…just what was that exactly and why was Xemnas and Saïx so obsessed with it? Now that he thought about it…the Heart in general…everyone seemed to want to know something about it, but why? What was hidden within a Heart that made them so intriguing to almost anyone that saw them as more than a vital organ within the body?
A strange set of questions that only made Marluxia uneasy. Just what was he getting himself into and would he be able to handle the answers when he found them? Or would they shatter him completely? Again the question without answers, but he had to go down this strange path of uncertainty. He wanted the answers to it all, so there was no other option or turning back now. There was no other way to go, but forward and at least…at least he wasn’t alone in the matter. Naminé, his unlikely companion and ally for the time being, seemed to be going down the same path, but how long they would stay on the path together was another matter entirely. Still, he supposed he should be grateful for what he had. At least he didn’t have to worry about her being on the opposite end, waiting to help undo any plans he might have later. For now, they would remain on equal ground and work together. They’d take the path one step at a time and he’d just have to learn to ignore the nagging questions about the future for the moment. He could return to each in time, so for the moment he would focused on what Naminé was saying.
It would seem that his concern and her concerns about this Kingdom Hearts and what Saïx wanted with it were on the same line. She too found the move suspicious and Kingdom Hearts not exactly what it was said to be; however, the words that followed gave Marluxia some more things to ponder. Kingdom Hearts..a lie or something malicious that could harm the worlds? It could be either, but could a collection of Hearts be that powerful? Powerful enough to destroy the worlds….or was Kingdom Hearts the Heart of all worlds? And if so just how much power did that mean it held? Did it have any power at all or was that idea a fairy tale too? It was hard to say and without straight pathways to the answers he was going to have to be patient with the whole thing. Patient…patient he was not when he wanted results. Bah. He’d just have to deal with the annoyance for now.
In any case, he was nodding at what she said only stopping when her eyes met his and her next words came out. His eyes narrowed at her slightly. He didn’t like people doubting his ability, but she did have a point as much as he hated to admit it. He would have to tread carefully to avoid trouble in this rather tricky situation. He watched her coldly for a bit longer as he saw sadness run across her eyes. Was she truly upset about him being involved in whatever it was Saïx was planning, so he could keep an eye on the Organization? His coldness melted a little at this as he found himself not sure what to think of having someone concerned for him.
The words that followed the sad look hit hard and the Nobody found himself happy that he was the one involved with the Organization and not her. He wouldn’t take the action back regardless of whether or not he had met the Memory Witch again. He needed information and wanted answers, so the only way to go about it was to start from the beginning again and work his way around the holes until he found the answers hidden in the dark. Meeting Naminé only widened the path he could walk upon towards the end goal. Still…having her here only solidified his will to stay between her and the Organization…danger, but why he wanted to do this he still could not figure out. Regardless of the conflicting emotions and confusion, Marluxia would respond to her words.
“I can take care of myself just fine thank you,” he said as he folded his arms looking away from the Memory Witch who had stepped closer. His arrogance and pride was back in place. “You just do the same,” he said his tones business like and free of emotion... and yet for one that could read between the lines a hint of some form of care was there…even if his way of showing it was odd.
In any case, after the words had been exchanged there was a brief silence before Naminé began speaking about Xion. To her words, Marluxia gave her sharp glare that clearly stated he was still not in the business of taking orders or doing anything except what he wanted to do. Regardless of this action, he didn’t try to harm her for the offense as he simply shrugged it off as she laughed and said that Xion was probably the most innocent of them all.
Tch! Innocent? Are any of us truly innocent?[/i] he thought and then shook the thought away. That was a total different can of chaos he really didn’t want to open right now, so instead he focused on the situation at hand giving his input on where he thought they should start searching for answers before making note of the changes outside. When he was finished he listened to the girl's input into the matter.
As she spoke of the World That Never Was and the idea of being welcomed there, Marluxia did not show any form of emotion in response. Even though it may have pained the girl to remember the place as shown by her smile that followed, he did not pity her in face of the facts. It wasn’t that he didn’t care for maybe there was some care somewhere in that mess he was, but at this point in time, he didn’t know how to sympathize or relate to what Naminé was saying, so his response was his usual blank and emotionless state.
Regardless, she was agreeing it was a bad idea to go back welcomed or not. She knew the members of the Organization as well as he did and while Marluxia indeed was ruthless in his own way there were members far worse to cross than himself. He knew this and so did she. He was glad she understood the dangers of any of them finding out of this alliance. The further away she was from the Organization, the easier it would be for him to protect his investment and be a shield for her…until they had no choice, but to face the dragon head on. A situation he hoped they’d be prepared for if it came to that.
Anyway the situation was moving on as Naminé agreed with starting with the keybladers. As she spoke of the option they had, he listened visibly frowning at the thought of facing Sora again….however, Riku was the feistier of the two so she had a point there. Still, he really didn’t want to face that kid again…hmm…
And who was this? Artemis? He had never heard of her before, but there was no point in getting involved with someone who didn’t even know much of the Organization or Nobodies, now was there? Sure, she might give a hint at something hey could work with, but probably not enough to make her a priority visit and she was more trickier than Sora to get ahold of to boot. No. No scratch that one too. It would seem Naminé was on the same page when it came to the woman’s usefulness too, so she could go on hold for another time.
Next up was Kairi, a surprising dead end, since Naminé could no longer find her Somebody. So what did that mean? A Nobody without a Somebody? Wouldn’t that cancel the Nobody out and cause them to fade since their original was no longer around? If that was so why was Naminé still here? Hmm...The situation was becoming stranger by the second, but this was no time to ponder that issue. What mattered now was that their options of keybladers were down to no one except Sora. Unless there was an Option B, he’d have no choice, but to agree to meet with the keyblader that brought his down fall once more. He sure it was bond to happen eventually, but still…why do that if he could avoid him for a while longer?
He ponder the possibilities as Naminé fell silent herself. After a moment, she spoke again. This time giving an option that was even crazier than Sora. Mickey, the Mouse King and one of the strongest support of the Light? Who just happened to be close allies with Riku and Sora? It was insanity to approach him...at least for the Graceful Assassin to do so. After all Naminé hadn’t played with Mickey’s or Riku’s memories…..he was sure he’d remember his time in the castle, making the Nobody wonder how easy it would be to get information from him. He pondered the option some more. At least approaching Mickey was a bit safer than approaching Riku…and maybe even Sora. Besides, he did seem to know more about the mess than the other two…but he wondered if the price was too high.
What other options do you have then if you say no to that, hmm? he questioned himself and then after a bit more debating sighed lightly and answered the girl in white out loud.
“If two are dead ends and the other two tricky, I don’t see why we can’t start with the King himself. Perhaps he won’t be too willing to strike me down upon sight,” he said calmly and then fell silent as he began to ponder how to handle the encounter. He was only drawn out of his thoughts by Naminé’s next set of words. He looked over at the girl staring out the window.
She was speaking of the world’s fall, the people here, and how it was never meant to be a world of darkness. He narrowed his eyes not sure what she was getting at with her words. Regardless of this, he continued to listen to her speak of the beauty lost to this world and the princess that lived here being sad if she found her world taken by Darkness when she returned. Princess? There was no Princesses of Heart here…unless she was referring to her Somebody, Kairi. Was that it?
It would seem that this was indeed the case as Naminé went on, saying she wanted to take the world back from the Dark for her.
World conquering was all well and good; however there was no way he was going to take this world back for the Light. They were just as bad as the Dark in there methods of take over...even if they were the "kinder" option. No, he would not fight for the Light. So with that thought in mind, he was very much thinking of saying no to what he felt would be a plea for him to help her; however, he found himself caught off guard by the Memory Witch's plea. It was not what he was expecting.
Let the people here pick whose side they wanted to be on and let the banner be undefined? Well, that concept was more appealing than anything the Light or Dark had to offer, but that still gave him no reason to fight for this world. This wasn’t his Castle nor anything else he had laid claim over, so why bother? Then again…this could be an opportune moment to see just how much the Memory Witch had grown over time and also test himself..see if he and she could could work together or not..Now that. That was worth his time. Hmm...
Marluxia looked over Naminé as she asked for his assistance turning to face him as the storm unfolded outside announcing more than just a change for the world that would come should they succeed, but also it reflected the change between the two Nobodie in this room as well. As lightning flicked across the sky outside illuminating the library a bit and sending shadows shrinking back, Marluxia watched Naminé for a moment longer before settling on his decision.
“This world is not mine, so I have no reason to protect it,” he said told her honestly as he turned away from her and moved a few paces down the a row of bookshelves, stopping in the darker shadows of the a tall leaning bookshelf. “However, you have proven yourself useful thus far, so I guess I can return the favor,” he said as he turned slightly and looked over his shoulder at Naminé with a smirk. “Let’s see if your keyblade is as accurate as my scythe.”
The agreement had been made and a challenge issued. The pair were by no means on friendly ground yet, but at least this little battle would be a step towards something better if things went well for them both.
