Xion felt as though she had wandered the paths of Twilight Town forever. Most of the time, it was by memory, her feet moving on their own, as she wandered in her mind, replaying memories over and over, committing every face, every detail to memory where she could never forget, never lose them. Her friends were here with her, as long as she believed.
The breeze blew through the walking girl's hair, lifting it from her face, cool and warm at the same time, her blue eyes shining with the light of the eternal sunset of the town. She had left the Castle that Never Was, slipped away to visit this place again. It was as close as home, where she had felt safe..and happy. Axel..Roxas..where were they? Would she see them again? It was almost as if she hoped that she would run into them if she visited Twilight Town..
And Riku...the person who had shown her the way when she was lost, confused about everything, not sure where to turn..where was he now? Was he still alive? Did he remember her? Or was it like she had believed..that once she vanished from existence, the memories would as well?
Xion paused, standing before the Central Station building's entrance. Ice-cream...she should get some. Maybe she would take it to the Clock Tower's Top, and sit where friends always sat..those who could get up there.

The Light had bounced him from one place to another, but never towards the Mysterious Tower where his gummi ship was. He had been trying to get to that place all along while doing his best wherever he ended up. He had found friends, enemies, and others he could not place on the board thanks to this world hopping. While this form of traveling was a good way to gather information, he could not understand why the Light was tossing him where it pleased. Was there some force behind it guiding him? Or was this really his Heart pulling him in different direction giving him tasks to complete such as defending a world or helping a friend in need? The pattern seemed to fit. Everywhere he had gone the place had been a familiar and also where a friend was in need. The only exception to the rule had been that one wrong turn that had placed him in those creepy woods with that even creepier companion….
The young keyblade master shuddered as he walked out of the alley way the Light had left him in. Just the thought of what happened back in the woods caused chill bumps to run up and down his skin. It was hard to believe the scar the encounter with the Horseman had left upon the usually sturdy keyblader. He had traveled many place, faced many monsters, and even a creature that could only be described as the devil himself and none of that had broken him. Sure, he was frightened, but he got over it and did what he had to do to get out of the situation alive, but that Horseman and those woods…?
No. No. Let’s stop that sort of thinking right there. There was no reason to work himself up over something already passed. It wasn’t like the being was going to pop up again…right? He shook his head quickly shoving away that train of thoughts. He did not want to know the answer to such a question nor did he want to ponder it any longer. That ordeal was over and the Horseman gone, so now all he needed to do was focus on the present. Okay then moving forward.
With himself settled once more, he focused on his surroundings, taking in the buildings, the perfect breeze and the sky stained with the golden rays of a sun that never set or rose. This place…this was Twilight Town.
He recognized the place from the digital version of it that Diz had made. Back then he had remained hidden and acted as the babysister for Roxas, making sure the Nobody only knew what he had to know to get him to become curious enough to seek out Sora and return peacefully to him. Roxas…that Nobody had been a stubborn one that didn’t want to listen. He had fought against him and while he had won fair and square the Nobody continued to fight back with such resistance that Riku had no choice, but submit to the Darkness to win. It was an unfortunate turn of events, considering that what Riku wanted Roxas to do and what the blonde had been trying to do were one in the same, so he had over powered him and brought the Nobody here. From there, it was all a matter of careful timing until Sora was prepared to accept the remaining piece back.
So many memories were in this place…even it was a digital version of it, the real one was quite the same. The events and memories never disappeared…
Riku continued to walk lost in thought, reflecting on the various events that had happened since he had left this world to continue his journey. He had learned so much and while he had changed, this place had not. It remained forever laid back and warm, kind of like the islands just without the sounds of the waves to complete the picture. He moved on lost in his thoughts not realizing where his feet were carrying him or why until he came to halt within an open area and looked around. He knew this place, with its low walls that overlooked the scene of the water below and the train tracks where a secret train was said to run--Central Station Plaza. Right.
The keyblader moved over to the wall and looked over the breath-taking scene as his eyes traveled to the train tracks that ran forward and disappeared into the distance. As he stared at those tracks, he had to wonder if that secret train could potentially lead to another world and if that was the reason why no one, but a few could see it. Hmmm…it was a curious thought that made him want to wait around in the town to see if he could catch that train and see exactly where it led. He had no clue the train would lead to the very place he had been trying to get to from the beginning—the Mysterious Tower. He observed the train tracks for a while longer and then deciding to test his luck, he began to plan, deciding that the best spot to start at least hunting for information was in the station itself since it had trains. He could ask about when the train might appear in a careful way, so people would think he was looking for information on a rumor. This way he could keep suspicion from being raised and while some may think him crazy for being so curious about a rumor, but he simply had to know the answer. The question of where that train led otherwise wouldn’t leave him alone until then.
With his mind made up and a goal in mind, Riku turned away from the calm scene and prepared himself to begin his investigation; however, he halted as he saw what appeared to be Kairi for one second. As he looked at the form, he could see his red headed friend, but there was something about this one that made her different. There was no Light radiating from the being or Darkness. There was just nothing.
An illusion? No…
He blinked before narrowing his eyes, forcing himself to see what that person really was. Slowly, the illusion broke away and melted into the black cloak of an Organization member; however, Riku was not afraid of the figure before him. No, this young lady who looked like Kairi, but was not…she was familiar to him. He knew he had met her, but where?
He looked away from the figure, trying to think and remember through the fog that had clouded his mind. He knew her…his Heart did, but why? Why did…?
His thoughts came to a stop as a variety of images flashed across his memories. A fight on the bridge of a dark castle with a girl that wielded a keyblade. That same girl taking with him on Destiny Island about her path in life, and then her weakened and in his arms….
The memories came in no particular order as they came on a wave that flooded his mind. It made him dizzy as a slight headache came to him. Wincing, he raised a hand to his head as he tried to force his world to be still again, shaking his head to focus once more. That girl…what was her name? And why did she come across his memories in broken pieces? Who was she? What was she? The questions went on and on until they built to a point where he thought he couldn’t handle it any longer and then just as suddenly as the wave came it ended and a single word floated across his mind.
“Xion….That’s your name isn’t it?” Riku asked as he let his hand drop to his side once more and looked up at the girl, locking his aquamarine eyes on her as the memories within struggled to line up. Was it her that had drawn him here and if so, then for what reason?
