Rather, Emblem had no way of doing such an act because of her circumstances. Traverse Town was all that she knew, with the constant veil of starry skies casting the illusion of perpetual night year round. This was why the new area was a striking contrast to the young female. Though the cloudy skies imitated a darkened area, this land was nothing but a pure sea of peaceful intentions. Someone must have been in a zen-like state to pull off the illuminating scene that the young adventurer was currently standing in.
And a plumbing problem it seems. There was a lot of pitter patter coming from her feet, as well as a somewhat squishy sensation in her shoes. Strangely though, it didn't feel wet. Just, awkward. The young girl dressed in her white jacket, knelt down to see what this foreign substance actually was. Her hands touched the liquid, played within her fingers for a moment, then slipped back out into this pond-like area.
"This kinda feels icky." the young girl said, standing back up and wiping her hands on the flaps of the coat. "Looks, feels, tastes, smells like water...but I don't get wet? New World is already pretty curious!"
You couldn't blame the child for acting this way. She looked much older than her age actually was at. According to the kind shopkeepers who took her in, Emblem simply appeared one day about a year ago. It was said that having no recollection or a hazy memory of who you were wasn't that uncommon of a trait in Traverse Town, though total amnesiacs was a different case. From the bottom up, Emblem was taught from mannerisms to social courtesies to even how to articulate in speech. Much had change since those infant days, as now the strange child was out and about in foreign worlds looking for something to do!
She hadn't planned on visiting the board for details about marks or stuff like that. Traverse Town had a little editorial about things, but nothing too specific. Some of the visitors spoke of places where you could join a band of people, where they go out and do jobs together! What kind of jobs was pretty unclear to Emblem, though the prospect sounded pretty legit on paper! Problem being: this world didn't look like it had a village or so that would have such a place. This whole transportation via the Gates of Deus was going to take some work, or else she could end up in a place where a madman thought of overnight.
Pumping her arms into the air for a stretch, the peppy young adventure crossed over around the back of her head and started to move about the area. Away from her glowing lavender gateway of light, she spoke her thoughts outloud,
"Eh, can't really do much by standing around here. Let's see if we can't find something to do in this oversized pond? Beats waiting around for nothing. Might even see a guppy or two~<3" [/style]

[classy=brokenstz]t h e s e b r o k e n w i n g s[/classy][classy=textstz] Sice had been wondering around for sometime; in fact, the amount of time she had spent wondering around in awe of the simplistic beauty of this place was time she could of spent on trying to find a way out. Subconsciously she wasn't ready to leave though; the Order's Sanctuary was an ephemeral cortex of serenity. Everything was so different to her, and in the difference she found beauty. How she got here was still questionable though, and eventually she would have to leave. Besides, she couldn't find a single source of food in this place, and that was no good.
Raising her eyes, they caught onto something distant, a human figure. Raising an eyebrow for a second, she observed the female, her stride and mannerisms seeming calm enough. Sice didn't expect her to be dangerous, so with an eased mind and a sense of new possible friend confidence, she slowly proceeded forth. Her scythe was brandished over her shoulders, with her right arm balancing it and gripping it. Her eyes noticed the lavender gateway of light, but suddenly she was more interested in this figure.
As Emblem stretched her arms, Sice approached from behind her. Her steps were quiet, but not intentionally. She simply was a light walker. "......" |
[/b] Raising an eyebrow, she remained silent, listening to the spoken thoughts. It did catch Sice off guard; her speech patterns and demeanor coming off as slightly childish and immature, but she didn't consciously notice this. It was something that she picked up sub-consciously, and gave her the feeling that something here was off. Even then, the feeling wasn't overwhelming and there was no way she could know anything for sure, let alone take a wild guess of Emblem's race or situation. As far as Sice could see, she was an everyday female, perhaps just a little bubbly. "Who are you talking to?"
She shuffled one foot backwards, taking a stance with her left hand on her hip. She wasn't meaning to sound sarcastic or anything, but simply to beg the question she knew the answer to. It was a playful, humorous side protruding out. [/classy][/color] [STYLE= font-size:9; margin: 5px; margin-top: -30px; color: #888;] TAGS: Riku, Emblem xxxxxxxxxx DIALOGUE: #81ABFC

He had started off in the Mysterious Tower, ended up in Traverse Town, left the town and tried to return to the tower using his Light, but instead ended up….
“Wherever this is,” Riku said to himself finishing his own thought out loud as a frown crossed his face. From the spot the the light had dropped him, aquamarine eyes scanned the area from under his long white bangs. There wasn’t much to see really. There was just a dark sky that reminded him of storm clouds waiting to burst and water the land with rain and then a glowing white ground for miles to see. The ground gave the area its light that seemed to only be amplified by the strange liquid that weighed down his shoes like water did, but did not touch his feet safely inside the shoes. This place…it was similar to the End of the World where the Heartless resided, but it was the opposite. Instead of malicious intent, this place was calm and serene like it belonged to someone of the Light, but whoever the owner was seemed to be missing. There was nothing here except himself and the calm. Wonderful.
Guess I should look around then since I won’t be leaving soon, he thought before nodding to himself inwardly and then began his walk in this strange new landscape. If he was expecting the landscape to change, he was wrong for the place remain constant the whole time. Occasionally, a light would drift across his path flowing to who knew where, but other than that he bumped into nothing living within this world. To make matters even more odd, this place was so full of Light that it messed with his ability to see other Light sources. All he was able to see clearly in this brightness was the stain of Darkness and right now the only source of such a stain was himself. Sure, he fought for the Light, but it did not change that Darkness was the other half of his powers.
As he continued to walk with the strange liquid sloshing about his feet and ankles, he wondered if the owner of this place would’ve kicked one such as him out for daring to come to such a place and stain it with even the slightest bit of Darkness. Would the owner shun him even if he was on the same side? Or would the owner understand and except him, even if he wasn’t the ideal warrior? It was hard to say, but it was a question that always plagued the young keyblade master since he had decided to travel the path in between. Yes. He had his friends at his back and did not have to worry about acceptance or forgiveness there. Sora, Kairi, Mickey and the others proved time and time again just how much they cared for him and in turn had helped him realize how much he cared for and appreciated having them at his side. They pulled him out of many small hells that had been created by his mind over the years and gave him the strength to go forward when he thought all else was lost. They had become his strength and precious things to protect. Keeping them close to his Heart had helped him resist Darkness and in the end, pass the Mark of Mastery Test to become a master of the key. Without his friends, he wasn’t sure what he would’ve done or where he might’ve been, but he knew wherever that place was, it would’ve been 100 times worse than dealing with the truth as he did now. At least on the path he was on now he never truly alone even if the way he traveled was in a lone wolf fashion.
However, outside of friends he had the world to deal with and the world was not as kind or understanding as those he cared about. The world was quick to judge and misunderstand, willing to shun him for his acceptance of both the Light and Dark. His path was a rare path traveled by few. The Dark hated him because they could not have him, but the Light was not welcoming either. It watched him with caution as if it was waiting for him to slip up and make the wrong choice. It was tough and the people outside of his ring of friends were tricky to deal with; however, he didn’t mind the chaos and could handle doubt as long as his friends and the keyblade were there for him. with the both in hand, he could push through most things…it just took him a while to see it this strength he had gained and use it to save himself and others in need.
A small smile crossed his lips as he continued to walk around the area thinking back on his journey so far and how much his friends had helped him grow into a better person as they stuck with him through the good and bad. As he thought, the splish-splash of the strange liquid at his feet was his only company for many minutes, but eventually the keyblader began to tire from the seemingly endless walk and had no choice, but to pause and rest. He would’ve sat down, but he didn’t want that liquid to get soaked up into his clothes and outside of the floor there was no other place to sit, so standing he’d have to do. As he was resting and looking about idly, he began to wonder why this place was so empty and yet large enough to hold many. Who was the owner of this place? Was there an owner at all? Or was this place just a fragment of a world destroyed? The only shred of Light it had left? It was hard to say and with no one here to answer the questions, the place’s origins and purpose would remain hidden for the time being. So he pushed the questions away and focused on resting.
He rested for a while longer before he was distracted by the distinct pull of others in the area.
“Hm?” was all that was heard from the keyblader as he followed the auras to two people in the distance. He could see that one blended in with this area letting him know that person was Light, but the other was blurred and hard to read. The second didn’t belong to the Dark or the Light. The aura was just there…right in between...similar and yet different than him. It was an odd presence he had never run into before. His eyes narrowed slightly at this new discovery, wondering if the hard to read aura meant trouble or not. Curious and cautious he headed towards the two, finding the closer that he got to the figures that he was dealing two ladies. The one that was hard to read was a woman dressed in white with lavender eyes. She gave off a cheerful presence and seemed like she was about to go exploring until the girl of Light had discovered her. The girl radiating Light was the completely opposite of the one happy girl. This one appeared more tomboyish and had a very different and more serious presence about her than the bubbly girl. In any case as he got closer, he heard the tomboyish one asking who the other had been talking to, but had no clue what was said beforehand to warrant such a question.
Regardless of this, he kept moving towards the pair announcing himself by asking a question of his own.
“Who are you two?” he asked before stopping a safe distance away from the pair, watching them carefully. He’d start with the basics and innocent questions to see where they led him... and depending on how much trouble the pair gave him would determine his next set of actions; however, he hoped this meeting would be calm one. It’d be nice not to fight for once.

She had company! A male and a female at that! There was that awkward moment, since she was able to notice that two voices addressed her. Or part of it. One or the other really, but the fact didn't change that they were awaiting her response. This would mark the first time that the girl would come across others besides the occasional visitor to Traverse Town. Oh! Oh! Just how should she come across?
Being too forward was just strange and intimidating. Kinda like the cute guy with the long hair. Did boys naturally wear it down like that from where he's from? Maybe he came from the same world as the awesome scythe charmer! Seriously, how cool was it to come across a person who was ready to wield a scythe in battle? They both kinda had that feel to them, and it was a different beat from the plain ol' Traverse Town. Not that anything was wrong with plain, kinda like their clothes a bit.
Maybe they were the type that responded well to bravado and the chest puffing 'HOOAH!' of a warrior? Thinking about a chest kinda brought her mood down, as she felt a bit ashamed she wasn't the most shapely of females. Not too big, nor too flat, but maturing. It was weird. So very weird, but maybe that's something that'll click with them? They weren't so husky looking really. That she could nod to. Even the guy, who had a bit more of a slender frame and was still well built! Let's not forget the awesome girl! She had the figure of an athlete that made her envious and wanna go, "D'AWWW!" Some people have all the luck really.
Emblem, the shape shifting carousel at your service! Fists of steel and a bunch more tricks to do! Oh yeah, that'd be a fancy greeting..though it came off too strong. Far too strong. They looked too cool for that. But Emblem didn't have any shades to wear! No slick flicks or suave tops to kinda go with the flow. Did first impressions always go about like this? She didn't know, but those long lectures from the teacher might have been more worthwhile if this was gonna happen so soon! Seriously.
It may have been the form she was in, but Emblem's wittle heart was fluttering at this prospect. So many options, so little time. Battle instincts made her aware of possible 'ninja-like' movement; no doubt because of the other war-ready personas. The overall situation she was in was rather peculiar, because her mind was conscious of the other forms to an extent. She couldn't draw upon their memories directly, but it felt like each one knew another as if they were separate people. So it was like a split personality! Sliced four ways perhaps? That made the girl tummy rumble a bit, imagining a freshly baked granny apple pie in quarters.
"...that sounds so good right about now..." Emblem blurted out, but that wasn't all that was said.
"Eh?"
It had hit her pretty hard. Like a bag of chocobo feed. She had, up until now been thinking completely out loud.
...Yup. Totally kosher. She blew it. Wark.
Emblem's face flushed about as fast as a fire spell could set a heartless on fire! Her heart might've just jumped ship after noticing how hot things were getting. Trying to compose herself a bit, the girl began stuttering madly in a bunch of gibberish. One could probably get a 'D-Du...n.' or a 'not...wh...aatttt...you tink!' from that mess of an attempt to project her voice. Her hands covered the now cherry red head, as she kept on backing it up. Backing it up...
...and gracefully tripping over a little ruin piece within the water. Such a sudden change in her balance caused the startled silly girl to prance about clumsily in order to regain her falling form. That didn't quite work out how she intended though, as the Gates of Deus came awfully close to the rapid backpedaling she did. Glowing like a steadfast lantern, waiting to be embraced or ran into. Kinda like those walls clowns and flying wild men love to come into contact with. Except Emblem wouldn't be hitting a hard surface. She'd just fall. Fall like a girl going into a rabbit hole.
A splash and a bunch of clanking later, the girl fell through. That weird water just covering about everything on her without fail. Her dusty brown hair tried to shake off this awkward feeling of being wet, yet not actually being wet. Though the sensation wasn't quite how it was a few moments ago. The liquid had more of a 'processed' ring to its message. In fact, moving around felt slightly more railed than normal too. Emblem had no problem getting on up and ready to face the two again.
This time, as a girl who looked as if she rolled on out of a steampunk scenario. A white, fur jacket, metal gauntlets, and scattered raven hair was exchanged for a green/white wardrobe change. A couple pouches and satchels to her waistline, clanking with a feed of nasty looking ammunition for the vulcan gun attached to right leg. Emblem sported a collar shirt and garter belts fastening her shorts to the rest of the look. She had some braces on her thighs with more war-fighter gear, with classical cover top shoes with black knee socks to finish this metro-spin from the past. There was a pretty slick magnum nestled snugly in the thigh holster. Emblem's new look was finalized with the messy raven hair traded for a brown bobcut and a matching color scheme casket hat to boot.
She had shifted to the Ein Trigger form. Rather gracefully too. However, that wouldn't be the only thing the gates of deus shifted.
Ein looked on over towards the two and gave a bit of a pout. Her hands were at the mon-petit hips of this new look. "Oi! Just whaddya lookin' at? Its troublesome if ya keep on lookit like that."
The new form had a very different feel, and still the pep in her step. Giving a very convincing salute, she did what Uchitel couldn't manage. A clean introduction.
"Name's Emblem, kinda like that there brooch on your spankin' new uniform missy. Kinda just got myself in a rut of a place, since its all blank and such. Howzit on your end? Any real reason yous two gots for being in this neck of the woods...huh sunshine?" [/style]

(As agreed upon we are moving along.)
As Riku stood there with the two ladies, he took note that the tomboyish one remained quiet either ignoring or simply not wanting to respond to the question as to who the pair were. Not a problem. He had dealt with the quiet types before, so maybe in time she would speak or perhaps remain quiet. He didn’t know, but didn’t give it too much thought either. People would people, so if the woman chose to remain a mystery that was fine by him. He wouldn’t complain. Besides, he had the other to keep his attention.
The second girl with the raven colored hair was quite… odd. First, she observed he and the other much like anyone does when meeting a person for the first time; however, unlike most people’s observations which were guarded, sometimes arrogant, or flat out scared, this one was openly curious and excited by what was before her. She was almost like a kid discovering something new. A rare observation that was a welcome change from the usual seriousness that Riku ran across. While she hadn’t said much, Riku could feel her energy—a strange sort of energy that was torn between what seemed like multiple people, but how that was possible when only one person was before him the young keyblade master could not tell. So instead of remaining distant and cautious, he found himself relaxing slightly and becoming curious of this strange girl. Who was she? Or perhaps what was she suited the situation better. He pondered that little bit of curiosity as he folded his arms and watched her with a thoughtful expression for a few seconds.
Then the moment of observation ended as he heard a light rumble from someone's stomach. It wasn’t him…or at least he didn’t think it was. He certainly didn’t feel hungry at the moment, so maybe it was—
Say what? Riku tilted his head at the girl as she spoke about something sounding good, giving him a hint that perhaps it was she that had been hungry and maybe it was her stomach that had rumbled in the silence. Still the words were vague, so she could’ve been thinking of something other than food. Curious as to what had prompted that comment, Riku spoke to the strange girl.
“What sounds good?” he asked, as he tilted his head at her; however, the girl did not answer as she seemed to catch herself in the act of thinking out loud and then making a small sound of realization, her face became cherry red as embarrassment settled in. She tried to compose herself and attempted to speak, but didn’t get anything out except something that sounded like “not what you think”, but it was hard to say with the way she was speaking and covering her face.
Riku smiled slightly understanding the feeling of embarrassing one’s self in front of strangers; however, the girl had nothing to fret about for he at least wouldn’t pick on her or look down upon her even if she had been thinking some odd thoughts out loud. He was about to tell her it was okay, but that idea quickly changed as he saw her back up and trip over a small protruding piece of stone that stuck of the water.
“Careful!” he called to her as he instinctively moved forward and attempted to grab the now stumbling young woman to keep her from falling. He tried to reach for her hand, but missed as she took a few more stumbling steps back and fell…through a strange hole full of light. He tensed slightly, thinking that he had perhaps lost her to another form of a portal; however, the frown that had appeared thanks to the failure quickly changed into a look of shock, as his mouth fell open slightly at what he saw.
The white hair keyblader watched as she fell through and then a splash and clank—Clank? Yes, clank—later, she was on the other side of the hole and sprawled in the water. Riku would’ve gone over to her and helped her up; however, the person on the ground now wasn’t the girl he had met when he first came in here. No, this one seemed more mechanical with brown hair and a very different feel to her than the first one. The keyblader’s mouth closed as the shock wore off and confusion, curiosity, and caution replaced it. A slight frown appearing on his face as he tried to understand what had just happened.
The girl that fell through the hole and the one before him now were the same girl, right? And the strange hole had changed her...erm…body, clothing? He wasn’t sure as he watched the familiar yet not familiar girl get to her feet, taking in this strange turn events as his mind tried its best to determine if this was simply a change in clothing or a completely different person all together. Maybe that portal opened up into another world and when the first girl fell in, this one was bumped out? Far-fetched, but not impossible. After all, there were stranger things in the universe than this.
In any case, he stared at this strange girl that looked like she was ready for battle for a moment longer before he was pulled out of his thoughts as the girl moved, placing her hands on her hips as she pouted. Then she was speaking and it was then that Riku knew that this new form was definitely not the cute stuttering chick that had been there before the change. This one was completely different.
At her words, Riku became flustered slightly as he felt the heat rush slightly to his cheeks.
“S-Sorry,” he managed to say as he looked away for a moment and quickly tried to recompose himself. He didn’t mean to be rude and stare, but come on. Wouldn’t you stare also if some chick that seemed all nice and innocent suddenly trips and falls into an odd hole and goes through not only a physical change, but also a personality shift too? It wasn’t exactly like that happened every day, but still he supposed he shouldn’t have made the shock the whole ordeal so obvious.
Anyway, Riku shook his head slightly to clear his mind and finally composed himself enough to look back at the strange girl, smiling sheepishly.
“You just caught me by surprise is all,” he said and then nodded as she introduced herself and asked her questions. He waited to see if the other lady would respond, but when she remained quiet, he spoke.
“Nice to meet you. My name is Riku and like yourself, I am not sure why I am here. It just kind of happened,” he said calmly doing his best not to be phased by the strange girl’s actions or nicknames. Then to change the subject from world traveling just as much thanks to the want to know, he asked a question of his own.
“Umm..I don’t mean to come off as rude when I ask this, but,” he paused as he searched for the right words and then finding none just flat out asked, “What are you exactly?”
With the words out there, Riku fell silent waiting for the answer not really expecting any. After all, they had just met, so he wouldn’t be surprised if the girl ignored his question or snapped at him for being so curious. Oh well, he’d deal with the consequences or what not when they came.
