Feathers and Scales in the Jaws of Chaos

Agrabah was not unlike a region within her own world. Sand was the most dominant natural aspect next to the blue skies, coupled with the ever-present heatwave from the sun. Her demons, particularly the Reavers, had mentioned there would be good opportunities to utilize within this waste hole in the galaxy. An 'opportunity' could be any number of possibilities in fact! This was a thought that did little to improve Altima's current mood; especially if there were any possibility she would have to turn over every grain of sand within this wretched world. She was not looking forward to doing such a feat, though it was on her list in case nothing worthwhile appeared to her soon.

There was little reason to doubt the words of her Reaver informants. While about as tunnel-visioned as an Ochu in heat, they had a unique sense to maintain a strong field of detection when tasked to survey the area. These Reavers were also under the direct command of Shemhazai, who may as well be Altima's most trusted advisor when it came to gathering information about anything. Yes, it wasn't due to their inaccuracy that she was aimlessly hovering past dune after dune of wretched sand.

Her temper subsided momentarily as the pale figure landed about ten minutes behind the final dune before approaching the great walls of Agrabah. She took a moment to gaze upon its structure and already a sense of disgust began to latch itself like an unwanted zit. What some may see as just walls upon white walls, the lucavi's vision illuminated the various amounts of life force that walked Agrabah's streets. Each flicker of light gave off a different radiance; all symbolic towards the individual's personality. Altima had no need to look for long to formulate her own opinion about its denizens.

Cocking her head to the side a bit as she stood on top of the dune, she lightly said to herself, "Just who concocted the idea that a city sprawled with naught but disease ridden rodents could even be a remotely pleasurable idea? Such a fool need to lay their filthy, perverse fingers before my blade so I may rend such idiocy from this existence."

Altima spat towards Agrabah and all she stood for. Her crimson body suit exposed itself momentarily from the concealment of her well-crafted mantle so that she could place the hood over her platinum hair. The only visible aspects now was from the nose down to her chin. Ivalice's fallen angel had the thought to simply let pillars of holy energy erupt from within the city, so that she may enjoy some sort of chaotic symphony in the midst of the desert's lonely concerto. She stayed her hand in doing such an action, and instead slowly made her way towards the wall.

A different breeze shifted her attention momentarily, but the angel gave nothing but a split second of her time. She was determined to find what it was that the Reavers meant in a worthwhile opportunity in a desire plagued rats nest. Her crimson eyes locked forward and a dreadful wind was approaching the oasis of the desert.

The great city of Agrabah. The Jewel of the sands. It was a city grand in scape, riviling some of the largest cities on other worlds and holding many secrets and holes to be found. It’s Sultant, placed within the palace to rule over the citizens of the white marbled crown of the sahara, was but a shining example of the people that lived there. The Princess, the Sultan’s daughter, was yet another. Foretold across the sands the beauty of the Princess Jasmine of Agrabah, her beauty unfortld. It’s market and wares held many exotic trinkets and trifes, while it’s guards worked to keep the order of the city. A Slender to behold.

And a disgrace upon the universe.

Agrabah could be so much more than it was, so much more than it ever might be. There was such potential, yet it’s sultan sat in the palace, getting fat of his splendor and being a bumbling buffoon. It’s Princess was a stuck up sharmuta who knew nothing of the splendor she could truly have. What’s worse, the people squallored and filled the streets like rats, battling over the tiniest crumb to fill their empty bellies while diseases spread through them like a plague. The infidels of this city knew little of the true glory this city could have held with an iron fist, and yet they never would. Not with that annoying Street rat In favor of the princess. Not with his idiotic friend that freed Genie, and not with that boy with the key who always appeared at the worst time. It was why the once Royal Vizer of Agrabah stood outside the walls, looking up the white marble scoffing in disgust. The Vizer-turned-Djinn only shook his head in disgust, rolling his eyes as he walked the sands along the wall, utilizing the cobra-headed cane as a walking stick as he moved.

“Such pitiful street rats in their squalor.” the Vizer mused, brushing a hand against the lamp hidden beneath his robes. He’d have to remember to thank Maleficent yet again when he next saw her, but his first task upon his thankful revival had been to return to Agrabah and assess the situation. And for three years, that is what the man known as Jafar has done. He had watched Agrabah from the inside and out, traversing both in his human form and in disguise as any normal civilian, appearing anything but himself. Yes, he may have been released by Maleficent, but she had given him the ability to walk free for now, to be called should she need him. A fine use, and it would prove more useful still. “They bite one another for crumbs and live in fear of the guards, when they should live in fear of me…” The vizer continued to monologue, still not so used to no longer being in the presence of his former parrot Iago. “I had been so close to capturing this city and world for my own… so close. Yet that boy with the key…” He’d clearly need allies if he wanted to fight the boy with the key. Surely he could be defeated. Maleficent and the others had been defeated by fighting alone. Could fighting together be the key?

He didn’t even notice the small figure before him until he had taken a moment to look forward, stopping where he stood and seeing the robe with face, yet nothing else. Yet there was something about this figure. It was shorter than him, but most were. And what little he could see of the face, from the nose to chin, looked porcelain like… He wondered who this was. Not someone from Agrabah. Might she be from another world as well?

Well, perhaps he hadn’t lost his Charisma yet. He would stand here, waiting to see how she reacted, arms crossed. Everyone had a useful purpose. What would this figure be?

Eyes...they gaze upon her presence. A sickening gesture that one with beauty would have to deal with constantly. She could feel the disgusting radiation that the guards protruded from their soul, as it was very difficult to not recognize the form of a woman even in the guise of a cloak. Their sneers plastered with immoral thoughts grew wider as she approached the main gate. Man, as it would seem, would always retain their most carnal of instincts no matter where they may be. It mattered little to her because they would never receive the object they desired; despite the weakened state she was forced to remain in.

She was ask to halt, and the men perched above had some arrows ready to fire at a moment's notice. Altima had no need to physically gaze at such primitive creatures in order to understand their course of action. Every motion, every thought, was engraved into one's essence and dictated as such. The angel could not help but muse the thought of playing with such gullible creatures, in all their selfish pride earned from the short lifespan they all share.

Her red heels did halt after the second command came from the guards, this time accompanied by an attempt towards her right shoulder to forcefully make her to do so. Oh yes! Altima could tell they wanted her to cause trouble, so that she may be apprehended and placed within their 'care.' Just as the hand would touch the white feathers that covered the mantle, her slender arm seized the wrist of the guard with a satisfying snap!

The other guards stepped back for a moment and were in arms upon seeing their comrade writhe in pain. He sweat profusely and the expression begged for his body to scream out in pain. Yet not a single word escaped, almost as if someone had seized control over his voice entirely. The guard's terror laden eyes turned to meet the dimly visible blood red orbs underneath the hood. Altima's pale voice whispered a message only for his ears to behold.

'Lay down your arms and seize not the opportunity to present your lives before she who lays cities to rest. You have a child that is yet to be born, as your pride radiantly shines within my eyes. Be not the one who condemns him from the chance of life, nor the harbinger of this city's demise....dear honored guard of the sultan.'[/color]

All he could do was give her the confirmation of understanding. The area filled with a sense of dread that seeped into any possible weakness within their docile hearts, tearing away at what little courage they had to display. She did not think much of this ability from her days as a guide to the departed, but one did have to admit it did well to reduce the amount of work necessary to handle the curs of the group. Every post guard was trembling and the knees weakened by her presence, which dissipated almost immediately moments after she released the leader from her monstrous grip.

Altima stayed a moment to wipe a bit of his sweat away and fix his disheveled look. After finishing, the angel let her pale body give a smile that could warm any innocent heart...until they also locked eyes. The guard's faces lost all color and moved quickly aside to grant her passage, which Altima waved a half-hearted thanks to them. That instinct to simply become a mindless destroyer still felt tempting and would have saved her time...but some aspirations still required a more delicate touch in handling. She had no use for simply leveling a city that may have a blessing hidden in its passages. She would find it, and she will then pass judgment on the fate of this land.

"Mayhaps this world is capable of salvaging a speck of hope amongst the rotting corpse. I need only sift through these tireless grains of sand to discover the iron well that will serve to be its foundations..." the angel whispered to herself, letting her mind float in thoughts upon what was to come.

Today felt like a good day tom kill! there was just something about it. The hot, gorgeous weather with endless sunshine? The large, bustling city full of life? Or maybe it was the two dark presences lingering about the outside of the city walls? Who knew, but whatever the reason, it was little to stop the arrival of a third user of the Darkness. The amount of sunshine that shone throughout the day was impressive, though not surprising with the city being in the middle of the desert. No clouds at all, so the air was heavy with the heat, even in the shadows. How the majority of the people walking the streets of Agrabah, wearing full garbs and turbans, was clear signs of insanity. At least, to the figure clad in black with silver hair thought this. Then again, he was wearing leather...

Regardless, this was indeed a fine day to kill!! The only two decisions left to make right now were simply who to target and in which way to carry out the sinister act. Having arrived in this world due to the usefulness of summoning a Corridor of Darkness, the silver-haired youth found himself emerging upon the tall, palace walls that blocked off the Sultan's palace from the dirty rat-like scum plaguing Agrabah's streets. A glance over both left and right shoulders did two things. First, his neck cracked and the Remnant let out a satisfied sigh as he felt himself loosen up. The second, were the city guards approaching from either direction, surprised with his sudden appearance and were coming to possibly either arrest or attack.
"Tch... Sand rats coming to play?"
Mused the Remnant Leader to himself, his tone sounding slightly irritated. These guards were not going to pose a challenge in the slightest. The silver-haired youth had to find someone worth while to fight if he were going to have any fun at all.

Still, there were other ways to play. Grinning, the leather-clad Remnant turned to his right and made his way across the wall towards one of the guards, who suddenly paused and flinched as the guard behind walked into the back of him. Kadaj continued to wear his grin as he walked closer and closer.
"What are you doing up here?! How did you get up here?!"
The guard, whose voice was shaky, but tried to sound professional, spoke up and pointed his curved scimitar in the Remnant's direction. Kadaj simply continued to walk forth, still grinning, and as he closed the gap to stand before the taller, larger build man, the Remnant's arm snapped forth and grasped the coin pouch hanging from the guards belt.
"If you catch me, I'll tell you."
Was the Remnant's answer and, while chuckling throughout, he turned and jumped down off the edge of the wall, plummeting down to the sandy road below. Landing with a thud, crouching low to the ground and kicking up some of the sand from impact, the silver-haired youth held his crouched position until the sand had settled. He stood up and dusted his shoulders off, hands after, before glancing skywards to watch the guard pull a whistle and blow into it, alerting some of the guards upon the street.

"That's more like it."
Smirked the Remnant as he turned and took off down the street, sprinting into a tight alley and vanishing from sight. Civilians gasped and shirked as the armed guards chased in pursuit, their weapons clanking against the walls of the alley as they ran down it. Skidding to a halt as he emerged from the other end of the alley, Kadaj peered over his shoulder and chuckled as his eyes flashed brightly.
I can feel other powerful creatures here... Maybe I ought bring the 'party' to them?
Turning and grabbing a civilian passing by, Kadaj twisted the man about and tossed him to the ground, causing the guards who sprinted out the alley to stand and trip over him. The sight was amusing and after turning away, he once more vanished down the street as he dashed away, making his way as best he could to the other sources of power he could detect.

Watching the scene in front of the gates from afar had been interesting. Jafar had been observing it with glee and pleasure as the guards sought to prevent the woman from entry and seek a means to throw her in a dungeon. Just like Razoul and his guards, to do such an action. The power that being guards made them arrogant and believing themselves to be better than the common folk. True in most regards, but it was clear this girl in the cloak was not a common folk, apparent by how easily the watch captain for the gates bent to her will and lost his color. Even from this far Jafar could sense the darkness that eminated off this woman. It was overpowering and yet… otherworldly. Beyond just being from another world in the universe. It was beyond most power. Her darkness had a special flavor to it of sorts.

That’s when Jafar sensed the second bit of darkness far within the city. Also a deep putrid darkness, but not otherworldly like this woman in the cloak. A whistle from within close to the palace seemed to protrude the blowing sands, and the guards at the gate quickly dismissed some of themselves to help within the city after the woman on the outside gate had departed for inside the city. Safe to presume the whistle had not been for the woman based on it’s origins, but it might be something that caught her own attention. Perhaps it was good to keep a birds eye view then.

Holding his staff out before him and letting it float before him, Jafar wrapped his arms about himself and then began to curl slightly. Hisbody morphed soundlessly, the magic of a Djinn giving him no pain as his body contorted. Quickly he soon spread out his arms, now coated in white feathers, and began to flap into the sky. His body shrunk the higher he got, turning white and spotted as he let out a small screech once he had taken the form of a Gyrfalcon. It was not a native animal to the region, but the guards and people on the streets would know very well not to attack the animal in question, as anyone with half a brain knew that Gyrfalcons were a symbol of Nobility, and that the Sultan himself had at least three in his special Aviary.

Grabbing a shrunken version of his staff in his claws, Jafar took to the sky and flew over the city, using the superior sight of a falcon to keep watch from above. He could see clearly the woman who entered, walking through the crowd and down the main thoroughfare for the market stands. Across the market was another man, silver hair and black leather being chased by guards. Intriguing… This man also seemed to emanate the darkness that Jafar had sensed, and there was power behind it too.

Jafar moved his wings and flew down into the city street itself. He came towards the woman and, having made sure his staff had now fully molded into his claws, landed then suddenly upon the shoulder of the woman, almost overpowered by her darkness. He spoke lowly, to keep the other civilians from noticing a talking falcon, but also to give the woman a warning. He had no idea how she might react, and had to be ready to disappear if anything happened. “A man of great darkness approaches down the road. He is trailed by many guards.” What the woman did then was of little concern to Jafar other to see how she might react, but if she tried attacking Jafar while in this falcon form, he would disappear in a plume of smoke and upon a roof nearby. But if she did not, he would stay on her shoulder, surprisingly light for a large falcon, and hinting that this Falcon was more than it seemed.

As if the darkness that emanated off him was not indication enough.

Life forces in their natural element always had a unique zeal that was very difficult to replicate without years upon years of dedication to the arte. That could possibly be the reason why there were so little Mimes of any gender in Ivalice's distant future. Such a sad moment actually. They were amongst the few remaining aspects of life in which she did not mind viewing or sparing eternal damnation. She waved off such thoughts so that her attention can refocus upon her newest 'companion.' The warning had a bit of an omnipotent vibe to every phonetic sound coming from its feathered body. Altima turned her hooded head to face the creature, but made no motion to stop moving forward. Her winged mantle, literally, pushed bystanders aside that dared to get in her way in as subtle of a manner as possible. Man was a creature of habit and to be presented with a force that was outside of said norm would cause unnecessary panic. Wasted panic led to an irritated angel. An irritated angel led to destructive tendencies. And destructive tendencies usually led to fallen cities and wasted mana. Something she wasn't keen on doing at this point in time. "Were it not for the seething darkness that culminates within your being, I'd have grant you an early parting before the Trumpeter plays his call dear therianthrope." Altima said with an angel's allure coating her words. "My shackles still cause my clairvoyance to be naught but a muddled mess, yet surely you can relate to the mundane cycle of having to deal with impudent knaves repeatedly? Of that, I can discern from the fog's veil around your soul." She had believed her words in its entirety too. As cliche as the scriptwriters who made it so, the seraph found little reason to concern herself over every speck of light or dust that dare cross her path. That would require acknowledgement of its existence, and could then be derived that she actually cared about the possible effects to their cause. The lucavi leader had remained in life and death's cruel cycle for far too long to maintain the clerical mentality. Getting betrayed by the ones you saved also might have had something to do with it too. Altima sighed, dismissing her mounting frustration at her current state. Her crimson eyes were shut for a moment, as she began to muse a few ideas within her head about how to locate this 'shred of interest' her spies had spoke of. Perhaps this bird that she granted safety upon her body was it? No, that would be far too easy! The angel continued her thoughts blindfolded, but that did not dull her sense of awareness to obstacles around her. A single patrol guard had emerged from the alleyways in a dead sprint, trying to heed the call of a whistle that echoed in the marketplace a moment or so ago. The fallen one couldn't be bothered to remember the exact time of it all. All that did concern her was that the rotten human had almost crashed into her because of his lack of situational awareness. She had instinctively shot her hand out from the mantle and seized the neck of the charging guardsman. In a fluid motion, the guard's momentum was turned against him and his body flew directly over Ivalice's fallen angel. The man crashed into a merchant's display, sending down a rain of fresh fruit for the street rats to easily steal. Altima, on the other hand, kept on walking forward as if she played no part in this minor display of destruction. She stopped to open her eyes and gaze upon a small dust cloud approaching them. A vague sense of interest sparked her dreary mood. There was hope inside that this coming force was the answer she sought in this rat's nest. "It would appear that just as Throne has turned its wheel just slightly so that Gordian may craft his chariot, our dark force is upon us therianthrope. Prayers be granted that this is not another display of rats, lest I gag myself and succumb to my mounting desire to play the role of destroyer once more."[/style]

The two dark presences were on the move, though not traveling at any great speed nor covering any sort of distance. The pair had supposedly met one another and were now traveling inside the walls of the city. Simple, really, but there were other problems to deal with before the silver-haired youth could introduce himself to the other strong entities wandering the streets of Agrabah. Though the more Kadaj sped through the dusty streets, dodging and sliding past civilians and subtly tripping and guiding them into the path of the pursuing guards, the more he started to recognize one of the auras. With each step he took, each leather boot crunching sand underfoot, the closer he got, the more the familiar aura continued to grow. The second remained unknown and with the pair of them traveling together, or that’s how it felt anyway, the easier it was to track them both down. Even so, there was no need to do that. The Remnant Leader was having fun with the Palace Guards. He had swiped a pouch of gold and who knew what wondrous trinkets were for sale? Perhaps he could find and buy a whetstone. The blades of the twin bladed Souba were growing dull.

One of the Remnant's feet skidded through some sand as he dug his heel into the ground, sliding slightly before coming to a halt. Several heavy footsteps were growing louder and louder, the muffled shrieks and yelps from the civilians mixed within and soon deafened to the silver-haired Remnants ears. One of the guards leading the pursuit had his scimitar drawn and held over his head. Running with loud, hefty foot stomps, he swung the blade down towards Kadaj's head. A loud metallic 'CLANG' echoed about the street as the Remnant turned within an instant and drew his Souba, clattering the twin blades against the sharp edge of the Asian-style sword. The guard was overwhelmed and found himself flying backwards through the air down the street, a sickening 'CRACK' being the result of the Remnant stepping into the larger male and thrusting a hard kick into his chest. The pursuing guards tumbled over one another as they tripped and staggered to get their college to his feet and to continue chasing the thief.

At least they're dedicated to catching me. That or they can't stand to have their pride shattered.
Kadaj thought to himself in amusement as he took a moment to laugh as he watched the guards struggle to get past their fellow guardsman. As soon as they did, a couple staying behind to look after their buddy, the Remnant simply grinned and raised his Souba up before him. Some civilians had noticed the ruckus by now and the street was emptying as a result. Pity, the more casualties, the better, but beggars can't be choosers. Turning, the Remnant sliced the ropes of a nearby awning that collapsed down upon the guards as they ran past. Again, the sound of bodies hitting the floor filled the streets as the guards crashed and tripped over one another.
"Not very bright..."
The Remnant Leader muttered aloud as he turned and dashed off once more. The tearing of thick cloth sounded from back down the street, a glance over his shoulder revealing one of the guards had used it's sword to cut open the awning, allowing the chase to continue.

And continue they did, even as the sweat poured down their faces and arms, the guards seemed highly determined to catch the 'criminal' fleeing through the streets. However, all this running was getting boring. It was going to be time to end this little facade soon enough, though whether that was with bloodshed or not, the silver-haired youth had not decided yet. What he had decided on though, was to continue leading the guards in the direction of the two dark presences he could feel. Turning left down a street, right down the next, the Remnant slowed down his sprint into a jog and cast a glance over his shoulder to see the guards were still in pursuit. Fair play. Even in this heat, they had impressive stamina. Upon exiting the next street, the Remnant found himself in a large market square, or bazaar. A nice large, open space... well... apart from all the market stalls and civilians, but the guards were bound to sort that out when they arrived. Kadaj smirked and he once more skidded to a halt, the dark presences only a street or two away now. Turning about, the Remnant's weapon was drawn once more as he peered to where the guards were coming from.
"Enough running. It's time to dance!"

Reaction this woman gave the man hidden in the form of a grand royal falcon was something that had been planned as a potential, but was not quite what he had expected. He had hoped that this woma of powerful darkness might perform like Maleficent, and use the knowledge to her advantage, but he had not expected the wording to come with it. The way this woman spoke had a strange allure, almost heavenly. Allah forbid if she was some sort of Angel, but with the darkness imbuded in her, she might very well have the sheer power of one. Her Charisma and Darkness was obviously something not to be toyed with, never mind her actual way of speaking. It hinted at a higher purpose and power, something beyond most of the petty crooks and thieves of these streets. Why then, was she here? What purpose could she have in such a city? Her words spoke about easily being able to wipe him from the earth, which in a way, Jafar actually did not doubt. While he was a powerful, Omnipotent Djinn, He still felt somewhat humbled by this woman. He bowed his head upon her question as a sign of agreeance, at the pain he had suffered in the past, and then went towards pretending to act as a real bird, quickly lifting a wing and preening himself a bit as a crowd passed by, seeming to instinctively move away from the two dark beings.

That always seemed to be how it was. Humans, such simple people, were always pushed away by anyone of great power or darkness. Most did not even realize how they subconsciously turned away from the beings that could be their destruction. Only the fools of great idiocy that life kept simply for amusement didn't notice the darkness or power, and would invite them right into their homes just as the Sultan had invited the Djinn Jafar, then a human, into the palace as royal vizer. The idiot sultan had never realized, but back then, Jasmine, the guards, even the petty street rats knew better and could see how evil the man was. Was I something about the heart? It's Power? What it saw in a person? Who was to say but an expert on the heart, which Jafar was not. He could be perhaps if he so wished it, but the irony in doing so was not lost on the Djinn.

Once the crowd had passed with a wide berth, It seemed more excitement was to come from seemingly nowhere. First was the crash of the guardsman trying to react to the whistle. Jafar had instinctively begun flapping away from the woman and the threat of the guard, partially on instincts of the bird form he took, and partially to gain ground incase something happened. And did something ever. Jafar's bird eyes widened as he saw the woman grab the throat of a man faster than a normal eye could see, then throw the very man with one, simple swing, over her head and into a display of fruits. The chaos that erupted proved a sufficient distraction for Jafar to flutter back onto the shoulder of the woman, standing proud as any falcon might. “A most impressive display. Your form hides much power within, making you a perfect victim or simple girl to most, but a deadly viper to those who know not the truth.” The Djinn spoke softly into the ear of the woman, praising her for the display. Perhaps unwarranted, but with the distraction of the fruit and people trying to steal them, the one guard who had clearly been knocked out would not be able to remember who it was that had thrown him to the stand, too preoccupied with stolen fruit.

The woman stopped as a Dust Cloud then appeared but two streets up from them. The woman spoke about hoping that this cloud would be the ource of dark power she sought, and in that it registered that she was seeking people with dark powers and presences. Perhaps this woman then could prove useful. Acting animal-like in nature, Jafar twisted his neck left and right, blinking to increase his falcon eyes vision and see far ahead. He could see a form in the cloud, a silver haired boy, and the darkness that eminated from him was obvious from Jafar's senses. He could see the man with his sword, standing in anticipation of something. No doubt the guards that persued. Despite the large Crowd, Jafar could see that people were beginning to clear from the area, sensing the destruction soon to follow. Good for them. “White Agrabah has many rats who bring their pestulance to the streets, I would be disinclined to think the youth ahead a mere rat. No, this boy is an odd one, not one I have seen before, but no mere simpleton. He may in fact be the tiger that swallows the rats, or perhaps even plays with their food before hand. But I'm disinclined to say more until he makes a display of himself. This, of course, if you will take my council,” Jafar said, turning to look upon the woman last and see then what she did with his council. He once, after all, was the royal Vizer. And while he had lead the Sultan astray, he still knew well how to advise and seek the best outcomes.

Altima did not humor the suggestions from others often; due partly that there was hardly anything worth noting that she did not already notice herself. This bird was without a doubt, a mage of sorts. What type of mage was simply one of the many questions the angel had in the query tree integrated into her lucavi mind. She had a large distaste for remaining in the dark about these thoughts, especially because her foresight and clairvoyance ability were so weak at the moment. Only the weak of heart could be analyzed to a worthwhile degree. There were times, she admitted, that toying with peons was a worthwhile past time. That was that. Altima hated having these imperfections placed upon her and having fate cheat the angel out of her skill arsenal simply infuriated the lucavi. Repeatedly defeated over the course of history, crushed by a force she knew like the back of her pristine hand, and so very close to being just like the mortals she longed to eradicate from existence. A scowl of sorts could be seen outwardly because of her thoughts. Altima did not care to pay heed to her surroundings during her advancement. This also meant that she did not care WHO got in her way either. The feather-laden shoulders of her decorated mantle had become far more active than previously before. Those feathers were in fact, the wings attached to her body and said extended limbs swatted away any who got too close save for her airborne companion. There were sounds of women, children, and grown men sent flying to the side; all of which succeeding in adding to the angel's increasingly foul mood. What made the lucavi snap out of her trance was the resonance of darkness that belonged only to those who turned their backs to the light. She lazily looked forward and saw a shadowy figure a few distances away. What some humans may see as a vague appearance of black and silver, Altima's eyes showed otherwise. That man in the distance, was nothing more than a blur of seething darkness that gently defined his bodily outline. It was not unfamiliar, but the angel could not be bothered to remember where exactly she had met such filth before. She continued to stare in place for a moment, but the screams and the angry roars from both the guards and populace grew more bothersome than any trivial rodent. Altima already was handicapped in tasks she once considered menial, and these constant noises simply agitated her more. Normally, the sounds of despair, frustration, and fear coming from the lower beings was nothing short of music to her ears. Today though, she wanted them to simply cease. "And cease you shall." the angel muttered under her breath. A hymn erupted into the area momentarily, eerily gothic and the notes bathed in pure hatred for all mankind. The dusky red orbs hidden under her hood shone as rubies would upon basking in the sun's rays. A single flash, like a flicker from a flame, sparked in her pupils and signaled the casting of a mystic arte at speeds that would be expected of a grand sage! Altima gaze locked on to the sands in front of her filthy guest. He would feel the heat of the explosion, but it would be no stronger than a hot breeze passing through. As for the other poor souls, every living being that stood in within the designated line was sent airborne. Not simply just skywards, but a fair bit of them launched forth by a series of fiery explosions erupting like landmines underneath the desert's dust. Altima's Flare was a very flexible spell with variants upon variants of execution styles that showed her mastery over the arcane artes. Using the knowledge that sand is not as solid as its bedrock form, she targeted the street in a line that only ignored where the dark being ahead stood. To be expected, as her Flare spell could only hit what she could see. The angel's sudden heating of the sands caused a chemical breakdown of various types, essentially hyper heating the sand into a glass-like state and then exploding it altogether like a powerful landmine catapult. She didn't think it'd work as cleanly as it did, but the details could be spared. Innocent lives screaming in agony under the glass shrapnel was simply the beginning to this bloody dance. Her incoming targets were considerably smaller in amount, but larger in mass. Altima's crimson heels stepped gently forward, as she whispered a latin incantation to have her sword swords appear to arms! From their sheaths on her slender legs, she held the beautiful Western blades in a masterful switch hand grip that was common with sandrat brigands wielding scimatars. An elegant one-two step that could almost be defined as dancing took place, as the assailant weaved through the incoming men and sliced them down mercilessly mid-air. She desired them to fall as bloody messes, but the world's law was far different than she remembered and led to them fading into shadowy goo. One flash upwards, and another to the right, third to with a reverse grip smash to the skull, and one more with a crescent arc uppercut. Her slaughtering was effortless. No wasted efforts, no drops of sweat generated, simply the finesse of a killer tested by the sands of time. She cleaved every man, woman, or child that flew her way from the Flare spell, except for one right away. It was a young girl, who the angel stared at for a moment as if in slow motion. The child's eyes were hazel; a beautiful color that could entice men if she had the chance to live longer. These eyes, laden in tears, pleaded to the murderous demon of light to spare her. Altima scoffed at those tears. She quickly brought both her blades to the neckline of the airborne child and used it as a clamp of sorts. The girl was caught and her momentum stopped suddenly with a satisfying jerk. The crowd looked on in horror, as Altima held the girl above her by the neck; scissored between two blades still hungry for more death. She could see a ruby liquid seep down the middle of her polished weapon, and stifling sobbing erupting from the snot-nosed girl. Altima had to guess the child was no older than the age of eight, a good year for growing females. No one but the child saw what sort of face the woman with beautiful, porcelain like skin had when the motion was done. It was clean. It was quick. It was delightful. Altima's blades came to her side once more, as the corpse fell momentarily before exploding into a splash of darkness. Some of the filth sprayed onto her clothing, but the angel did not care. She had feasted upon the mortals, and resisted the urge to bring her actual mastery into this. There was a certain, satisfying pleasure she got from crushing the images of angels in front of mortal beings. Just like the child. 'P-Ple..asse....hol-...y...on-e..' the girl choked out. Her face then shifted to that of a babe who gazed into the very entity she feared most. Eyes bulging open, pupils shrinking, and all the color escaping her natural tan complexion. Altima had a devilish grin and a single, crimson eye maniacally piercing through the child's soul. The last words that girl heard were, 'I am no savior of yours wretched pup.'

Today was going to be such a fun day!! The guards were furious, the civilization was smart enough to keep away from the market square that was already cleared out and made into a make-shift battle ground. The sun was still beating down powerfully, but this was a desert after all, so no big surprise there. All that mattered was that there was going to be a fight. A fun one! Only about 8 guards were present at the time of the Remnant reaching the market square, the rest were either still trapped under the stall awning or had ran different routes to reach the cleared out square from other directions. It didn't matter. One against Eight were nice odds and the leather clad youth's fist was clenching tightly about his Souba in anticipation. True, these were only ordinary grunts, simple humans that weren't going to pose any threat by themselves but their power was bound to come in numbers, right? Only one way to find out!

As the sun glistened off the mirror-like blades of the Souba, Kadaj's eyes narrowed a fraction as he watched the first of the guards round a corner and charge directly into the square, skidding to a halt when he saw his target had stopped and was waiting for them. The other guards followed swiftly in pursuit and all formed a loose circle about the silver-haired boy. Kadaj smirked and glanced over his shoulder at the large built men surrounding him. It looked a hopeless situation for the Remnant Leader to those watching from the shadows and out of windows of the nearby buildings.

The Remnant mused to himself in his thoughts as he flicked his left wrist a couple of times, the blades of his katana singing softly as they moved through the air. The wind blew past and the subtle sound of shifting sand entered Kadaj's ears as his sharp, turquoise, cat-like eyes flicked from one guard to the next. The tension was building. The guards were nervous and the Remnant was confident. The air could be cut with a knife!

But then something very strange happened... The sand seemed to get much, much hotter. Explosions erupted about the Remnant, forcing him to lower his head, shut his eyes and cross his arms before himself as protect for whatever was happening. Though while the air grew much hotter, no damage had been caused. That couldn't have been said about his source of entertainment though. Turquoise eyes peered out between his crossed arms and glared at the explosions erupting around him. The cries of the guards, the shrieks from the civilians. What was going on? Who or what had done this and ruined his fun?! The super heated eruption had morphed the disturbed sand into glass shrapnel, which too was sent in every direction bar towards the Remnant. Infuriated eyes glanced off to where the two dark presences were lingering, spotting the figure of a woman in red accompanied by a bird on her shoulder. Why did this creature look so familiar, and was she the cause of this... almost pointless destruction and death? These people would have returned to their lives after the Remnant had had his fun... what was the point in such slaughter?!

"YOU!!!"
Kadaj turned towards the figures across the market square, unsure for now if the bird itself was the owner of the second dark aura he felt. They were too close to one another and fused together slightly to make any accurate assumptions. Leather boots stomped through the disturbed sand and crunched down upon pieces of glass as he started to make his way forwards. More screams and cries came from before him followed by the sound of sharpened steel slicing through the air.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!
He shouted once more, eyes dangerously narrow that were locked directly onto the orbs within Altima's skull. With Souba still in hand, the urges to attack this foolish woman were growing stronger and stronger to hold a bay. Who DARES

[/b] interfere with the Remnant's fun?! It was a different story whenever Cloud did it... but this... was just not acceptable!

Almost as quickly as the fallen angel had dealt with her airborne prey, the silver-haired youth was upon her in the child's place. With his eyes glowing brightly, almost on fire, Kadaj had leapt into the air over Altima with both his arms stretched out before him. A bright green glow was shining from out of the Remnant's left forearm as the elements of Fire and Lightning were brought to life from both Kadaj's palms. Firaga[/b] and Thundaga[/b] were cast down upon both the woman and her feathered 'pet', the youth clearly not caring who he hit, so long as one of them paid for disrupting his source of entertainment. The mixture of the two spells made for an interesting situation. Even if both the spells were avoided, their reaction to one another caused an explosion that shook the area. Using the blast created, Kadaj flipped himself through the air and landed down upon the roof of a home that surrounded the edge of the market square. From up here, he turned about and glanced down at whatever remained below.

Firaga[/b] - 2 Posts. -- Kadaj rises up one arm and points his palm towards his opponent. Shortly after, a large ball of flame bursts out from his hand and rockets towards the enemy. Being roughly a meter across, the Firaga can pack a physical punch as well as the severe burns from the scorching fire that comes with it.

Thundaga[/b] - 2 Posts. -- Kadaj raises his left arm and aims his open palm towards his opponent. Electricity can sometimes be seen crackling from his fingertips if the spell is charged and ready to be cast. A thunderous bolt of lightning jolts from his extending arm, complete with a loud clap of thunder.

The Angel's words caught the Djinn's feathered ears, but the outcome was not as he expected. For almost as soon as the woman stopped her words, did a strange angelic harmony resonate. Gothic and Hate filled, the music was beautiful and haunting. Then the next sequence in this symphony took note, as the sands before them rose and exploded with heat, the sands bubbling up and out as the citizens and guards standing on them were thrust high into the sky, screaming at their lungs highest capacity to add to the cacophony of mischief and destruction. It was hardly believable. It was... glorious. This woman knew how to kill and murder in ways that the Djinn could only dream. Yet, even as she did so, Jafar had to bring a feathered wing to his throat and wince at the prospect of what followed. The various shards of glass that had formed from the superheating of sand caused Jafar to feel disgust at such senseless violence. People were much better as pawns beneath your feet than carcasses in the street.

When the woman spoke a dialect unknown to Jafar and began a one two step with her swords, he took flight. Keeping a steady perch on her shoulder would be impossible in the dance-like carnage that followed, cutting down the various guards that came after the woman who now seemed a much, much bigger threat. It made Jafar wonder how they would react at the sight of him. Would they find him the biggest threat of all, or perhaps simply run from the all powerful Djinn? Perhaps not though, for one thing Jafar had never done before was the murder of a child. He had no qualms with thinning the numbers of the street rats, but so... evil like. IT both impressed and forced the Djinn to swalow back some pride and sweat. To kill the girl so quickly and watch her body fade. And in such a gruesome manner... “Ewwww....” he said quietly to himself, swooping in to once more land upon the woman's shoulders. That was when the cry of the silver-haired youth caught the Djinn's ears. He had not partaken in the violence for his own reasons, but he had no true qualms with it. Yet it seemed the boy had other plans. He had become upset at the destruction? PErhaps he was more childlike than thought. There was a drk signature on him that was strange, but all that Jafar gave in response was a sharp screech from his beak, like any falcon of his supposed species might give.

But the screech held more than that. Jafar had taken off from his perch and put himself between the woman below and the youth above, bringing his feathered wings above him together and then thrusting them outwards. What followed as an explosion of feathers as Jafar revealed his human form, holding staff in hand and circling it above him. His words spoken were fast and in arabic, “رمال الزمن منح رغبتي وحماية لنا من هذا العنف لا معنى لها!” but what followed was clear, as the sands beneath Altima and Jafar, who now stood next to the woman, rose up suddenly and formed a protective barrier between himself, Altima, and the blast. They would be shielded within, the explosion once more superheating the sands and forming glass, but to this Jafar would simply scoff and simple flick the wrist of his hand holding his staff, the cobra eyes shining for a moment and then the glss shattering to pieces to fall like petals around the Djinn and angel. Screams came from the street and exclimations of his name from people, mostly in the form of “Jafar! Jafar! He has returned! Alert the sultan! Quickly! He has returned!” But Jafar cared little. He Paid no mind to their words and focused only on where the Silver youth had last been. “Perhaps I spoke too soon earlier. While it would seem the boy is indeed more like a cat that plays with it's food, he is also, like a cat, much too brash and tempermental.” Jafar said, scoffing. “Still, a Tiger can be tamed as a guardian and powerful warrior of fear. Perhaps ot best we cease the senseless violence in the streets, my dear lady, and focus instead on something grander? These people are mere pawns after all. Take out their sultan, become their sultan, and they bend beneath your feet and do your bidding.” A ploy by Jafar. Powerful allies such as these could help. And he could only hope the boy was listening. He might need to play his words carefully to convince the boy to work for them. Work for him.

Not just any trash, but the type whose stench was just peculiar enough to not be recognizable until a closer inspection was taken. Altima had little need to remember every little insect that dared to bare their fangs; an occurrence that was anything BUT a rare one. Even before she led the insurrection against Ivalice's creators, the souls of mortals were far from being all submissive. More than a few were vulgar in shape and rebellious at heart towards her judgment. There may have been a time where she bothered with the fruitless efforts to sympathize, but no more. The gust of wind that trails from those who used most types of high-speed movement signaled that the one she infuriated was in a dangerous attack range. Rather than do what she would have done, the sudden burst off the ground made it all too clear this arrogant whelp had taken to the skies. Her doll-like face remained still and denied any sort of acknowledgment of the remnant's existence; extending into his arcane assault. Oh yes, this so called display of sorcery did nothing but think dismal thoughts at how far the elegant arts had fallen. Unlike her own realm, there was this distorted sensation in the air when her assailant called forth the anima elements. There should have been a surge of mana and a connection to the natural world, but Altima felt otherwise. Her senses may be dulled, but eons of mastery within magecraft does not simply disappear due to some architect's twisted sense of pleasure! This whelp's magical force came from an alternative source that augmented his body in a parasitic-like relationship. She couldn't place her finger on this, but the magic felt less like the culmination of either photonic force or natural manipulation. No, it was as if this unnatural occurrence held the controlled parameters like a snapshot. She acknowledges the possibility that there are so many outlets to express magic and the fact it began to wane from its purest form as generations changed. Sorcery, witchcraft, alchemy, illusions, to even the modern derivation known as thaumaturgy. The angel's thoughts turned for the worse, making a note to have her spies scout this out further once this nuisance was dealt with. "What an insult upon such a timeless tradition." Altima spat out, hearing the crackling of lightning and roar of flames fired off from the assailant. Her mantle vanished in a burst of flames, dismissed of its duty by the bearer. The pure wings extended and shone brightly under the sun's rays; no longer having to disguise itself as an article of clothing. Her ruby body suit blended perfectly with the stunning platinum white hair. What stood before them was a form that mixed age-old malice with divinity that brought any remaining spectators to their knees. They knew not why their bodies were compelled to bow to the fallen angel, but the fear-stricken citizens did so from their hiding spots. Altima gazed at the incoming spells and scoffed at its lack of power. This parasitic attachment of a spell had reached the -ga level at least. If was only a few seconds in reality, though her thought processes kept on analyzing the quality of the spell. Her divine glow had been poised to counterattack, but a certain avian companion of hers stole the initiative. In a flash, she saw him morph into an older gent that radiated a magical force unlike many she came across lately. He also had that tinge a palace knave would carry with them, which caused a bit of confusion in her thoughts. It mattered not, as this magi knew his powers and wasn't afraid to make use of them. A barrier of sand, cleverly used in a similar fashion to how she had done so earlier with the Flare. It super heated under the Firaga spell, and halted the Thundaga's progress entirely before shattering into nothing. The angel couldn't help but surprise a smirk at the level of power he displayed. Not to mention he spoke his incantation in a foreign language similar to the bandits common to the rat's nest in Ivalice. She crossed her arms and gave a small whistle of approval to what was displayed. Her heart may be black, but acts of grandeur deserved their rightful praise. This man was earning some favors very fast, but made an error in his little speech. Altima did NOT see him as an equal. He did not have that right to speak to her in such a manner, suggestive or not! The sorcerer spoke of subjugation and grander plots. Words that could entice the dim-witted. She had heard this rabble many times, especially as Ajora. What use did she have for this overgrown sand rat nest?! It could be a feeding ground that the Ultima Demons longed for or possibly a stepping stool for her heels, but she had no need for this waste of space. Come to think of it...the way his words had a bit of a sweetness intertwined reminded her of how certain predators lure their prey into a compromising position. The more he talked, the larger the feeling grew. At this point, it was only a heavy suspicion and one that Altima desired to be answered if she had her resonance restored. Perhaps that serpent staff was more fitting to its master than just a desert cliche ornament? Scowling somewhat after having her mood change, Altima replied dryly, "Watch that slithering tongue of yours therianthrope." Her choice of words were simple, but made a very clear point that she was not someone easily misguided by sweet enticements. They held the prominent force of the heavens ready to lay waste to the land, for lack of better description. Orator or not, he would need to do better than that to seduce this angel. She would humor him though. Altima raised her voice a bit, making sure the rats around her could hear as well besides the sorcerer. "I do not take pleasure in senseless slaughter unless I have condemned a world to annihilation. Seeing as the city still stands and nothing but a handful of casualties lay before us should rectify that misunderstanding correct? I merely make it a point as a harbinger of truth to reveal just how 'safe' these people truly are under their current rule and hero...Jafar." The topic at hand was obviously playing on the social welfare provided by the government. She saw the fear in the populace's eyes. Fear that lead to delusion and the beginning of crafting pleas for salvation. Her words had an effect already. Certain citizens began to see her reasoning, but many needed more pushing. It was fine. She wasn't around for 1000 plus years for nothing after all. Altima's wings fluttered a bit and lifted her off the ground enough to where she could levitate comfortably. Her attention shifted to the crowd and produced a glow that masked her body to those below her. "So then I must ask to not just you Jafar, but our shadowy assailant and the souls around us. The level of destruction I've done has not exceeded that of what bandits armed with gunpowder are capable of. Merchants and carriers speak tales of danger ridden passages they must deal with in order to bring commerce to this fair city," Altima spoke confidently, "Am I not mistaken you hard working men and women of the economy? More favorable responses and murmurs stir within the public. Those who originally screamed and fled at the sight of Jafar halted to hear the angel. Some even began to check the bodies of those blasted back by the explosion and glass shrapnel. Gasps at how little they were hurt aside from being disoriented and scratched up also joined the mass. Altima smirked at how stupid these people were. They were flocking to the ideas she was talking very quickly, almost unreasonably so. The glass shrapnel did hurt a fair bit of people, but that was nothing short of luck that it didn't tear apart bodies. It seemed that only those who were close to the blast area suffered more severe wounds, but very few were life threatening. There was nothing to fear even if they died to the shrapnel wounds. No blood would be spilled; just a transmutation into a filthy speck. She could see a few of the carcasses already, and figured to give them a few more moments before they shifted. Oh how the gods of this world must be weeping at the sight of this stupid farce! Now to keep this going and win them over, as well as see how Jafar would react. The angel swayed and descended closer, turning towards Jafar and earned some looks of skepticism. She enjoyed every second of this. "Your sultan sits richly after dismissing the dark days as Jafar's faults, some of which are indeed justified by looks of your faces. Yet it was he who walks the path of redemption, and brought forth one of the lord's heralds to deliver swift punishment to a plague that infests this very city." She pointed to the ones originally slain humans, who had turned into pools of shadowy goo with glowing eyes. If the two had any idea where this was going, then Altima's faith may yet have a chance of surviving another day. "You all witnessed my judgment. Humans do not perish like that. Where lay the corpses of the deceased? I can assure you will not find a single one, for those fiends hide amongst you all. Jafar and this young man on the roof, unlike your Sultan, has sought to take matters into his hands and soil their hands to maintain the lives you live! Humans do not turn to slobs of dark filth if cleaved by cold steel...DO THEy?!" Eyes of enlightenment spawned like a wave. True to their image, rats swarm in upon a tantalizing morsel when presented it. Slowly, could she hear chants and cheers for the three dark spawns. All she would need to do is silence the death of a child that she had enjoyed earlier. "You need not ask, fearful individuals in the flock. I can see it in your eyes and will save you from being subjected to the life of an outcast. I did in fact slay, a girl before you all. Did that child belong to any here? WAS she known to any of you all? Do not succumb to yourself and fail to speak your truth! Come! Anybody?" Altima continued to preach, gazing down at the crowd and seeing that even the guards that had joined began to join the thoughts. There were many shrugs. Many accounts of people looking to each other dumbfounded, with none knowing who she was. Altima smiled gently, which masked the sheer joy at how easily they were being manipulated. "The lack of rebuttal confirms what I enlightened you upon. They cannot hide from Jafar's, the Sentinel, or my eyes. We are not deceived by their foul trickery. Do you SEE now how serious this is now, people of Agrabah? They prey upon your weak hearts, then will rend your flesh once you are lulled into a false sense of safety! A little girl was victim today to this monstrosity in your city, but who will be next? Listen well and give your ears to your true saviors, who hath returned to you with an act that will not stop at redemption! I am only the force that delivers justice to those who dare defile honest beings that labor towards righteousness, but they HOLD THE ANSWERS YOU SEEK!" The cheers of joy and praise grew louder and their audience was growing steadily. Now they had begun to cry for salvation, and asked for what should be done. More and more looked at Jafar and the remnant with pleading eyes, the emotions in them filled with naught but adoration reserved for a prophet. It was too easy. Take advantage of a phenomenon that the masses knew nothing of, and turn it into a crisis that can be mended. Even the darkest of images will appear as heroes when played right. And Altima had played the game correctly, just like she did all those many years ago. Altima had turned to face Jafar and their third guest, showing a grin that the rats of could not see. It said many things. Things that could be along the lines of: 'Your move.' 'Heroes or heretics, take your pick.' 'Try and one up me.' 'This was simply too easy to do.' 'Is my slaughter as senseless to you now?' She, and the crowd, now awaited their reply. The difference? One looked for answers and to be guided. The other was simply standing by until needed again. If this was continued, this might just be the easiest revolution she sparked over the course of her life cycle.[/style]

The wretched red-attired woman was in no position to disturb any of the Remnant's fun this day. It was only foolish messing around with the city guards, child's play if you will, but who cared? The world beyond the city of Agrabah was nothing but endless dunes of sand. Spending any small amount of time out there would be the death of anyone, even one such as Kadaj himself. Kadaj may not exactly be a human, but his body was limited to human restrictions. Any prolonged exposure to such scorching heat from the fiery Sun would be dangerous to his health. The thought brought attention to the sweat he could feel upon his back, thanks to the leather attire he wore. Everyone else was clad in light cotton robes and whatnot... It must have come as a surprise to the civilians that someone was able to actually escape the guards in such heat, wearing such clothing. It mattered little to the silver-haired youth. His 'playtime' had been disturbed and the one responsible was not going to get away with it! The last time someone messed with the Remnant, half of said person's Organization was brought to their knees by Kadaj's Souba.

After approaching the winged-women with haste and unleashing his spells upon her, disappointment was once again etched into the Remnants face and eyes as what was once a bird became a man and used his own powers to halt the advance of the Remnant's attack. Was this tall, dark figure a guardian perhaps or some sort of companion? Their pair looked like polar opposites when it came to appearance. The male was clearly dressed to befit this world, so the chances of them knowing of each other before this day may be slim, but sadly was completely unknown. It didn't matter. If either one of both of these users of Darkness wished to bother the Remnant and his games, then they'd both pay for it. Lightning and Fire smashed into what appeared to be some sort of barrier made from raised earth and sand, brought about by the bird-man. Regardless, the spells intertwined with one another and the resulting blast from impact caused the silver-haired youth to be thrown up onto the roof of a building that overlooked the street both the Dark users stood in, along with all the chaos that had befallen this world only moments ago.

From up here, Kadaj had a greater vantage point where it came to vision. A quick glance in either direction down the street revealed the route he had come from the Palace and the direction both the bird-man and his feathered female friend, which appeared to lead straight towards the main entrance of Agrabah itself. A snort escaped the Remnant's nose as he glanced back down to the street upon hearing the snake-like voice of the tall, thin male talking to his female companion. It appeared he too was in disapproval of the mindless slaughter, as shown within his words.
"And why would I want to work with you?"
The Remnant Leader spoke up as he leaned against an eroded away wall that lined the entire rooftop. Resting his elbow upon the sand-covered wall, Kadaj's turquoise eyes watched the scene below him with irritation spread across his face. Both these two seemed to have a better grasp of magic then he did, so if anything was to happen in regards to combat, it would possibly work out better to go full offense with Souba in hand.
"Who would want to rule over a back-water place such as this?!"
Kadaj continued, turning his head towards the palace and extending his left arm off towards the massive onion-shaped roofs.

A groan escaped the lips of the silver-haired youth as the female started on her lengthy monologue. Sure, it was all in hopes of winning over the common people here, speaking of the Royal Vizer and the two off-worlders as 'heroes' of some kind, coming here to vanquish the 'monsters' that were hiding amongst the populace. The red-clad woman brought the crowds attention to what remained of the people she slew only minutes ago, but this wasn't fooling the Remnant. A grunt escaped his lips as he pushed himself up off the wind-eroded wall. Leather gloves patted down the leather attire upon the Remnant's chest as he dusted himself down, shortly before he turned his back on the drop to the street and walked away across the rooftop a few paces. Pausing, the singing of a steel blade leaving it's sheath was barely heard over both the 'angel's' words as well as over the wind that blew across the rooftops. Having drawn his Souba from it's resting place, Kadaj eyed the polished blades and smirked at his own reflection, blinking his cat-like eyes once, slowly, before he suddenly turned about and swung the weapon before himself.

At first, nothing happened other then the majestic song the twin-blades sung as they sliced through the air. A second later however and a loud 'CRACK' came from the rooftop to both Altima and Jafar's left hand side should they be looking towards the Palace. Snapping wood and the crumbling of brick and mortar, the entire upper half of the building Kadaj briefly stood at the edge of, slid away from the main foundation of the building down into the street where civilians and both the users of Darkness stood. Kadaj wasn't in the mood for any monologues, not in the mood for any plans or plots. His fun was disrupted and someone had to pay for it. Sprinting forwards, the silver-haired youth jumped and cleared the street below, landing upon the rooftop of the building opposite where he then proceeded to repeat his actions. Turning, he once again sliced his Souba before him to slice away part of the wall and rooftop of this new building, cause it too to collapse down onto the street below.

Firaga[/b] - 2 Posts. -- Kadaj rises up one arm and points his palm towards his opponent. Shortly after, a large ball of flame bursts out from his hand and rockets towards the enemy. Being roughly a meter across, the Firaga can pack a physical punch as well as the severe burns from the scorching fire that comes with it.

Thundaga[/b] - 2 Posts. -- Kadaj raises his left arm and aims his open palm towards his opponent. Electricity can sometimes be seen crackling from his fingertips if the spell is charged and ready to be cast. A thunderous bolt of lightning jolts from his extending arm, complete with a loud clap of thunder.

His move had worked to cover them in a barrier, the sand turning to glass before shattering and gently cascading in shimmers like snow. It seemed he even had gained some amount of praise from this figure beneath the robes who revealed herself, yes, her, finally. Her red body and white porcelain face certainly caused the many other whelps and street rats in this market street to bend and bow to her, an unnatural force and presence in this world. It made even Jafar, the great and powerful Djinn that he was, want to bow over and kiss her feet, but he held back enough to bow in forgiveness only after she had called his honey-covered serpent tongue. He bowed, his head hanging low briefly, raising his head but keeping in bow to reveal snake-eyes in place of his own and letting a snake tongue slink out of from his lips. She would see the cobra within, then he would show the cobra outwards. “My apologiesssss madam angel,” he said, perhaps trying to be funny or amusing.

Then she spoke again, and it was clear her words were not quite meant for him, but the populace. Though she used his name, and many in the streets continued to gasp, there was a different effect within the crowd. Many still kept low to the ground and pleaded to Allah on high to save and forgive them. They were in the presence of an Angel, and yet many did not pleased to her but Allah. How weak and foolish, yes? But Jafar help his tongue, eyes returning to normal and listening to the woman. His expression was flat but showed enough to know that he was listening with quite the bit of interest. This was more than a powerful mage before him after all. This woman was a god herself.

Then came exactly what Jafar needed. He had never thought of it like this, but the woman’s words, already speaking and giving comparison of what some bandits and those from the rats nest could do. So true she was. It took every ounce of self control to hold back a smirk to appear on Jafar’s face, even as she continued. They were eating right out of her palm, like a parrot to bird seed. Of course! Why had he never thought of it that way? Get the citizens behind you, and instigate a coup, a revolution. It’s not like the guards could kill all of the citizens, yes? Even Razoul would falter, knowing that if he stopped everyone with force and cut them down, the Sultan would speak out greatly against him. The Angel labeled him a Herald, and at her words of his faults, he faked a rather convincing look of sadness and sorrow for his past transgressions. And then she went further, pointing out the disappearance of the people into dark blobs. Enlightenment sparked in Jafar’ own head of how he could play off that, making yet another note in the long list of things to play off of.

This woman, clearly, was someone Jafar could respect greatly. With her speech finished, Jafar stepped forth. He gave a passing glance to the silver-haired boy, who seemed less likely to speak in favor and act more as the chaos. This Jafar could work with. This he could deal with. But as Jafar went to speak, he noticed the buildings collapsing in on them. He had hoped to remain looking human, but perhaps now it was time he revealed his own appearance to the crowd. Even better, the Djinn already know how to spin this. Holding his cane out before him, Jafar let go of the cane and let it float in mid-air before him as he slowly became encased in purple and black smoke. From the smoke, billowing above the crowd and between the buildings, large red hands outstretched and caught the buildings that began to fall.

Crowds that had been screaming when the buildings began to fall, now stopped in aww as the smoke cleared and revealed the upper torso of Jafar, in a smaller version of his Djinn form, but large enough to keep the buildings from falling. Now to speak and play to the putty of the crowds.

“See how I use this form, the form many of you have come to fear, now as a guardian! See how I do not shy away from it and use those powers which I have been granted as a means to keep you further from perishing. Those which have melted were as you assumed. They were the heartless! And had I not brought the Angel here to rid you of their plague, you’d soon have had your hearts devoured as you almost had years ago! Tell me, do you fear me now if I admit to my faults and error in my ways? Years ago I fought to seize claim of Agrabah not for power, but to bring it into a Golden age! Your current Sultan does little to help the people in the streets. Even your Aladdin and Jasmine do little. Where are they now if they are your saviors of this world?”

Jafar pushed outward, setting the buildings back into place and letting his Djinn magic set the stones as one thing again. He brought his hands back and then became a humanoid again, grasping the cane which had been floating before him and holding out his hands. “Even now, the Sentinal silver-haired youth acts as a catalyst to show the faults of this city. The faulty buildings because of lack of proper codes! The risk of danger! He acts as any strong bandit might act, but know I have seen worse out there. I have seen stronger than many can claim to have seen! Tell me, will you let those who are strong rule over you with no care for your safety, or will you let those who do care about the safety of your world and livelihoods help?”

Cheers and angered cries rose. They were beginning to be swayed. But the silver-haired boy still acted the wildcard. His words could undo everything if he wished, or perhaps he could end up just causing more senseless destruction. Jafar turned to the woman behind him, standing with one side to her and one to the crowd. “Allah, our god on high, has spoken and brought this Angel to us. I have lead her here to cleanse the impure. Will you show her hospitality, show her that you are worthy of salvation and saving?”

What once was naught but fear and defiance, now was a scene of admiration and cries within the majority. Jafar's act of benevolence had done well to further the proceedings of this ruse that had been placed upon the populace's terrified eyes. It was just like before, when Ajora was the projected prophet. If the mood was befitting for such a move, then all that was needed was a single shot to claim checkmate in the battle for hearts and minds. This held especially true to the lower income population of the hierarchy, who took charity in much like how a ravenous wolf claimed their meal. Wolves sounded to majestic and noble to describe what it exactly was that their group were dealing with though. Rats were too cliche and vermin sounded too vague. The demon mentally checked off various creatures, but couldn't do any better than maggots. A classical villain term, but befitting in this hearts and minds wager. Hearts and minds...something she kept going back to in this particular moment. The subject was pretty simple in concept, and ever changing within practice. When one sought to claim the victory of a heart, you aimed to appease their needs. Needs were derived from the mind, and so the connection between the two categories. Satisfy a gap that the opposition is failing to address, and gain a social advantage for the battlefield. Altima understood the basics of this wartime strategy perfectly, as well as applying various means to achieve the capture of that goal. [/style]

They bowed their heads out of respect, though the angel flicked her hand upwards gently. Many confused eyebrows were raised, as some felt as if they may have offended a messenger of Allah. Something that could not be taken lightly, especially in this religiously saturated portion of the world. It pained her to act the role of an angelic savior, but she did what was necessary. Altima lowered herself to an almost full-touchdown, catching off the corner of her downward gaze all the citizens spacing themselves from the expected area. They now respected Jafar and Altima as gods and heroes, while the remnant above may have had the same treatment too. Now it was time to empathize with the mass, lure them closer and secure their wavering loyalty under the darkness's coat of arms. "Be not tense within the presence of us children of man. We were summoned by the wills of your prayers to aid you in this blight, and so does the heavens respond. My eyes are the lord's eyes, and so I come to you with this message upon the dawn of war." Altima spoke like a true saint to the common man. Her words as succulent as the first drink to a parched through, but a poison so devious that it claims its reward in utter silence. The high-seraph motioned for the crowd to part by pressing her limbs together and widening it out in a single move. With so many eyes upon her every move, the obedient sea of Arabic clothing parted withotu hesitation and gave a wide enough space in front of her. Simply overthrowing an existing monarchy was too low of a goal to grasp. Why not PUSH the stakes higher and expand the target list? Her eyes flashed red once more and a series of explosions occurred once again. Controlled by far and a spectacle to see to the naiive populace now that it held no destructive intentions other than to the sand. Each series of explosions were small and fierce, hyper heating the grains of the desert into a glass imprint within the ground. One shaped like a key. Altima had a shred of faith that her companions would catch on to what was coming next. "Spread word of what has occurred here today. Sing ballads and songs of his heroism, whisper to your wives and their friends of his courage, bask within his radiant looks within the artworks...but let all know of my words children of man." Altima sung in a hymn. It was soft, beautiful, and had an ethereal quality that many would never come across in their life time. She charged a bit of energy within her palm, generating a series of ancient text to spiral around her petite figure in the purest of white light. The doll-like face had her eyes closed in prayer, but it slightly opened in a trance-like state. "Jafar is a herald chosen by your eternal savior, tasked to lead this city unto a new age of prosperity within the turmoil of war, pestilence, famine, and death you all bathe in the wheel's cycle. Be wary of those who bear the key, for they are forces that draw the darkness into the back alleys of this young world." The puppets absorbed her command like the drones they had turned into. None dared to leave a second early, not until she had given a clear sign she was done. All these foreign display of magic and holy imaged spellcraft had them dancing within her hand. She loved this game right now, but not all was for show. Her wings had begun to glow brighter the longer she chanted, and for good reason. Altima did not trust the wild card yet and his latest actions against her cooperation with Jafar gave even less of a reason to leave him unchecked. No one other than those of the Ivalice lineage in the age of gods would know of the coming she called for. What may have appeared to be pillars of sweet sounding motivation to the unknown, was actually a ballad for the stars to converge under the will of Father Time's wrath. She called for the creation of a Grand Cross, a spell not to be underestimated. Altima did not desire to use this spell so soon, especially at such an awkward angle when accounting for the collateral damage. No doubt he would fight with speed if harassed, but the idea was not to cause any sort of damage to the delicate image that was forged now. Altima remained vigilant under her conditions. She spoke a message that would finish the call from the heavens, and perhaps one that was cryptic enough for the other dark affiliates to catch. "Remember and cling to my words to your hearts children of your faith. Spread the coming and actions of Jafar, and prepare for a coming strife. I shall return to defend your world from those who would bring you upon death's river. Together in arms, we shall return you to the surface that the leader denies those without worth from in his eyes. The keybearers are the harbinger to the beginning and the end." Altima turned about and began moving away from the crowd in a motion to gain isolation. Her wings continued to glow radiantly, as did the amount of amassed magical force. [/style]
