This was such a strange place. Nothing made sense here. But that was to be expected, wasn't it? After all, he had already died a few weeks ago. Aster looked down at the brochure that he was holding in his hands, gazing over the writing with a blank expression. The boy had no idea how to read, and so the map of the town that was printed on the laminated paper was proving very difficult to decipher. On his home planet of Schrade, modern conveniences had ceased to exist long before he was ever born. Books were new to him, as were signs that didn't amount to little more than scratches left in trees and rocks. It made it very difficult to navigate in this strange little town...
The boy was lost in thought when he was suddenly snapped back to reality by an enticing scent. He leaned his head back and sniffed at the air like a dog. One benefit of his upbringing was that Aster was an exceptional tracker, even by Schrade's high standards. With the smell of food as his guide, he folded the brochure and placed it in a pocket on the inside of his coat before sprinting off in the direction where deliciousness awaited.
It wasn't long before he rounded a corner and found the source of the scent. A vendor's cart rest on the side of the street, with large colorful signs plastered to the front. He couldn't read them, but he knew food when he smelled it. The street seemed to be empty, and he hadn't eaten anything that hadn't come from the garbage in over a week... so, in true heroic fashion, Aster immediately ransacked the cart, grabbing the rods of fried dough and stuffing as many into his mouth as he could manage. The land of Schrade had lost the concept of currency long ago, and anything that hadn't been 'claimed' was free game. As such, Aster was a bit of a thief. And as luck would have it... "HEY, STOP! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!"
Aster turned his head to look at the direction where the yells had come from, the ends of two churros still sticking out of his mouth. A rather portly man was running towards him, waving his arms, "S-STOP! THIEF!" His brow screwed up in confusion at the claim. A thief was someone who stole your rightful kill... how could he be a thief for taking what seemed like bread? It made no sense. But as the man drew closer, the boy realized he didn't particularly wish to find out. He grabbed a handful of the churros and dashed off to the side, whereas the man dropped to his knees, panting from exhaustion...
It wasn't long before Aster's run finally slowed to a brisk walk, sliding the last rod into his mouth. They were great! But completely different from anything on Schrade. He stopped in a small clearing between the buildings and glanced around... now that he thought about it, wasn't the afterlife supposed to be an open field where one could hunt to their heart's content? But there were no fields, and no monsters to hunt. What gives?

She paused, hands in the air, listening to the shouting below. Someone was accusing someone of stealing it would seem. Wearing her trademark smile, Creed walked along the edge of the roof and lowered her purple eyes down towards the street. A man, a plump man at that, was kneeling on the floor. To her, it looked like he was catching his breath. Could this be the thief? He wasn’t a very good one if he was giving up by submitting to the floor. Not too far from the panting man, another being was fleeing. Her eyes widened at the sight of the dark haired boy running into a clearing. It would seem he was the thief. Dropping her hands to her sides, Creed decided she wanted to be part of this game of cat and mouse. Her foot hovered over the edge of the roof before she allowed herself to fall. Two dark tentacles extracted from her back, reaching out onto the edge of the roof to help guide her down to the floor without any harm done. The moment her feet touched the floor with grace, she withdrew her darkness so that she appeared fairly normal to those of Twilight Town. She walked quietly towards the man on his knees, watching him from behind for a short moment before she forced his head down against the ground with her foot. His cheek pressed hard against the brick floor as she put pressure against his other cheek. He didn’t say anything, too stunned and confused as to who was behind him. Creed pulled her face towards the man’s, smiling and watching his fearful eyes searching her face for recognition. ”Don’t worry. I’ll go get you back your thief.” She smiled a wicked smile before releasing her foot and walking towards the location where she seen the younger male run to. Her black nails scrapped along the bricked buildings, scratching away at the surface and leaving a faint trail of dust in her wake. Creed wasn’t entirely sure why she was chasing after this thief. The fat man posed no real interest to her, but this younger one seemed quick and could possibly entertain her for a while. Besides, she had to get back the man’s stolen stock. Upon entering the small clearing, her eyes fell upon a dark haired male – the same one she had seen running from the rooftops. She didn’t say anything at first, but would lean against one of the walls of the buildings and watch him from afar. He looked confused and lost. If she had to guess, this boy wasn’t from around here. It was something the two of them had in common. Creed smiled. Not that was a valid reason to allow this thief to get away with his despicable crimes. ”You’re going to need to pay for those.” Creed finally spoke up after growing tired of watching him from the distance. Her eyes found his, smiling softly as she watched his reaction upon seeing her for the first time. [/ul] [/div]

While looking around, Aster caught a slight movement in the corner of his eye. He turned and walked over to a nearby wall where a sheet of paper that had been pinned there was blowing around slightly. His eyes narrowed as he stared intently at the bolded words printed as the heading, head slightly tilting to the side... "Wan...ted?" That's what it seemed to say. He'd started teaching himself how to read during his time in this town, but it was very difficult. Still had a long way to go before his reading skill resembled anything remotely competent.
His eyes drifted further down on the poster, only to find him staring at a picture of himself. The sight caused him to cross his arms over his chest and his mouth to curl downwards in a frown. He was wanted? Why? By whom? The boy closed his eyes and tried to think of anything that might provide a clue... well, he had been called 'thief' more times in the past few days than he had the entire rest of his life. Did they really think he was a thief? He'd never steal a kill, though. Whether the kill itself or the meat that- He was interrupted by a woman's voice.
Aster turned to face her, his arms still crossed over his chest. His eyes were unfocused at first, trying to place her... but he'd never seen her before. Still, there was something familiar about her scent. A strange sour ting that he'd definitely smelled somewhere before, but... no, it wasn't her scent. It was something else? He frowned again while his head listed to the side, as if trying to view her from a different angle. "Pay...? I'm not familiar with that term." Not entirely true. But he had never heard it used in a context like that. It had always been in regards to revenge... had he wronged her somehow? That seemed impossible, but then again, nothing made sense lately.

[Oh my, short post is short] She said as she approached the male, this time closing in the gap between them until her accusing finger pressed against his chest. She was about to speak; about to drag him with her back towards the man she assaulted until her eyes caught the flapping of a wanted poster. The face on the front was none other than the male standing before her. Her purple stare turned back to him. ”Ooooh, a wanted man.” Her smile curled into a grin, revealing her two blunt fangs. Without reading the poster, Creed could have guessed why his face was plastered upon it. He had been caught stealing and more than once going from the print on the wall. She pulled back her finger and placed both hands on either side of her hips. ”What’s to stop me from handing you into the authorities and calming my reward for your capture? Creed spoke with a sinister grin. She couldn’t care less about the fact that he was wanted. But she wanted to see him sweat and worry over the fact that he had done wrong and could end up in jail over it. [/ul][/div]

Aster's eyes narrowed at the sight of the woman's claw. That was certainly odd. He'd never seen anything quite like that before. But as she approached, he winced at her scent. The sour smell grew stronger as she came closer, but... when she got closer still, he realized that the sour smell, for certain, was not her true scent. It merely clung to her... aura? It was the best explanation that he could give for the odd phenomena. But it wasn't long before his eyes drifted away from the woman's hand to inspect the rest of her form. Her clothes were asymmetrical, which he found rather odd- he wasn't symmetrical either, but that was entirely because of the, currently vacant, sword hostler that clung to his back and not because of his clothing choices itself.
He didn't get to look for long, however. The moment he glanced at her chest and saw the 'window' in her dress, his eyes quickly snapped to her face, his cheeks reddened a little. On his home planet, people dressed very... conservatively. Mostly because exposing skin was dangerous, which is why everything but Aster's face and the ends of his fingers were covered. He once owned a mask to cover his face, but that had long since been lost. Even here in this town, he hadn't seen anyone dressed quite so provocatively. Still, he somehow managed to force himself to focus on the matter at hand, "W-Well, I already ate them all. Besides, I found them first! That makes them mine!" It was true. The cart was unattended when he found it. First come, first serve. That was the first and only rule, really.
But then she saw the poster, and he realized that he was probably in a bit of trouble. His brother probably would attack the woman to try and incapacitate her to keep her from blabbing, but... Aster wasn't quite so violent. He simply took a few steps back and bend his knees a bit, assuming a battle stance, "I... have one very good reason as to why you won't take me back to my father!" In the boy's mind, the only 'authority' there was that mattered was his father as head of the household. It was strange that this woman was threatening that, though. "And that's because..." He immediately pivoted on his heel and sprinted away from the strange woman, "He's already dead!"

She flicked a sharp finger at the boy’s nose before continuing. ”At least you know what interests you.” She smiled, teasing the boy for her own entertainment. Of course, back when she was a princess, Creed wouldn’t have dared to wear something so revealing. Her father would have banished her to the void if he had ever seen her dress in such a way. If Creed knew what she was soon to become after the princess era, she would have stopped listening to her father and mother a long time ago. The male stuttered as he spoke. It was either nerves of her presence or that he had been caught red handed and was being threatened to return the goods. She soon came to realise that it wasn’t the latter. He spoke about the stock being his because he had found them? She blinked at his statement. The cart which he stole them from belonged to someone else, yet he thought that because no one was watching over the cart, the items were his to take? She smiled softly and gave a faint nod. Despite it breaking the rules of purchasing goods, Creed admired his point of view. ”Well, if we’re going to play by those rules.” Creed bit the side of her lip, smiling a hungry smile at the dark haired male. ”I found you. That makes you mine...” She was ready to reach out and grab the boy, to decide his fate as he probably would have squirmed in her grasp; but he took a step back and stood ready to fight. Her eyes lit up, excited for the passion he was to bring to the table. Apparently, he assumed she was to take him back to his father. This puzzled the dark saviour as she couldn’t recall ever mentioning anything about his parents. She said she would take him back to the authorities...unless his father was of some importance on his home world? That thought was quickly dismissed as he pointed out that she couldn’t return him to his father as he was already dead. And with that he fled, leaving Creed standing in the small opening. ”Shame that. I would have loved to have met him.” She sighed, shaking her head. Creed wasn’t exactly the type of girl you would take home to meet your parents. She was the girl your mother warned you about. So the guy wanted to play a game. Creed let rip a wicked grin at the thought of playing with her prey. This was what she enjoyed, a quick game of torment followed with a light snack of souls. Her purple eyes watched him vanish from the area. ”You wanna play tag? No problem.” Creed spoke towards the male, but mainly to herself as he had already vanished from sight. Her arms stretched out to her sides, and with the flow of her arms came out two large wings of darkness from her back. ”Only, I don’t play by the rules.” Creed smirked and took to the air with a gust of air. She flew above the majority of the buildings, but remaining fairly low in altitude so that she could watch the boy move. The only problem with her angel form was that she was unable to use her darkness ability to form any extra arms or tentacles. When in flight, Creed could only rely on her own limbs to fight. Meaning she couldn’t reach down and grab the boy with her extended darkness arm, but only with her own bare hands. It was a useless concept, but she wasn’t truly complaining about it. Creed was grateful for her darkness, regardless of their faults. The boy ran down a straight road, allowing Creed to fly passed him over head. Once a few feet in front of him she dropped from out the sky, ordering him to stop with her sudden appearance unless he wished to run straight into her hungry arms. Her body straightened, and her smiling eyes locked onto the boy. Grinning, Creed’s wings split into four and transformed into four swirling tentacles. ”Tag, you’re it.” With that said, she threw two tentacles towards him, aiming for both of his wrists. If she managed to grab hold of him, Creed would pull him closer to her to continue with his anguish.[/ul]. [/div]

If nothing else, Aster was completely and utterly flustered. The woman's suggestive comments coupled with her manner of dress was too much for his hick little mind to comprehend at the moment. And so, he fled. Some part of the boy's mind suggested that he should sit still and see what the playful woman had in store for him. The rest of him told that part to shut up and never speak again! But the conversation did make him think of his lost home. What would Alek make of this strange woman? Well, he would probably attack her outright considering her odd behavior. His father was traditional like that. On the other hand, with his father dead, didn't that make him the head of household, and therefore the ultimate authority? So he had even less of a reason to be fleeing from someone who was claiming that she would take him back to... himself. Although she did say that she would claim him... would that mean that she actually aimed to capture him for her own purposes? But what could she want with him? The only possibilities that came to mind were disturbing at best. It was probably better to just continuing running and not have to find out.
However, the Hunter's training was not wasted. He saw the oddly shaped shadow speed past him on the cobblestones, causing him to look up and see the girl flying overhead. His mouth hung open in utter confusion... nothing made sense in this stupid place! This was a total sensory overload. He just wanted to curl up in some corner and sleep this whole thing away. But it didn't seem like the woman would give him the chance to. She suddenly dropped down in front of him and attacked him with... tendrils? Was this some kind of monster that merely used the form of a human to lure in it's prey? If so, then he should fight back and defend himself. But what if she really was human, and simply had been 'blessed' with strange powers? He wasn't sure which it was, so he couldn't rightfully bring himself to attack her just yet. Although, that strange scent... perhaps that was a clue?
He didn't have much time to think about it. Aster suddenly dropped to his knees in a slide to pass underneath both the tendrils of darkness and the girl herself before springing up, bolting away from her. He wobbled a little at first, muttering curses under his breath at the discomfort of skinning his knees against the pavement, but it was a small price to pay. Still, it was clear that he wasn't going to escape her by running straight ahead. Luckily, there was a small bridge coming up, and he knew exactly where it led. Aster quickly ran up to the overhang and threw himself off the side, diving into the water below.
But what Aster didn't realize was that today was the day the township cleaned out it's drainage system. Which it did by flooding the system with a large amount of water, essentially turning what was normally a steady stream into near rapids. The boy was dragged underwater by the current, struggling to push himself up to catch his breath. He wasn't sure how long he was stuck in the canal, but eventually he managed to grab onto a metal bar that was just above the canal; part of the railing on the side of a street. He slowly pulled himself out of the water and over the railing, flopping onto the side of the street in a drenched pile. The boy simply lay there and pant, trying to regain some strength by resting. At least he was safe now... right? Surely she couldn't have followed him after all that...

Creed grinned. She walked towards the bridge, noticing the fast roar of the current as she approached the bridge. The damn boy is a fool. Clearly he was in so much of a rush to lose her that he lost control of his sensibility. Why would anyone leap into a fast moving current in an attempt to outrun someone? Creed leaned over the wooden railing of the bridge, watching the helpless boy splash and splutter in amongst the current. She could help him...but it was more fun to watch him struggle. Only, he could end up dying if she didn’t attempt to save him. After all, if he died his soul would vanish, forever. It was something Creed couldn’t let go to waste. Pushing herself from off the railings, Creed crossed the bridge, pushing an innocent woman who stood gawping at the boy drowning. Her shopping bags flew out of her hands as she too, fell into the fast moving current. Creed paid no mind to her and her screams as she continued to walk over the bridge and in search for the dark haired boy. Stepping back onto land, Creed turned and headed in the direction of the flowing current. It was common sense that she would eventually come across him, dead or alive. So long as she moved with the river then the boy would be there. Walking through the streets, following the river’s flow, Creed took the time to observe her surroundings. She hadn’t been to this area of Twilight Town, up until now. She remained in the South side of the town, where the people seemed to live. Where she walked now, in the South-West side of town, appeared to be more hotels, shops and businesses as such. Her eyes wondered curiously, watching the few people walk by, glancing her way before quickly returning to their daily activities. It was nice to know she could still turn heads. However, she wasn’t naive enough to believe that they were staring at her beauty. Creed was a strange person to look upon, just from her attire alone. Things only started to get even weirder when one would gaze upon her purple eyes and black claws. To anyone with a brain, they would quickly sum up that she wasn’t entirely human. Her gaze soon fell towards a body which lay across the river’s bank. Ah, there he was! Creed grinned as she quietly approached the tiring boy. She could see his chest rising and falling at a rapid pace, clearly out of breath from being swept with the current. Trying her best to suppress her giggle, Creed decided to sit upon the soaking wet boy. She cringed at the sudden dampness under her rear, but paid no more attention to the fact she now had a wet bum. Her eyes turned down to the boy under her. Smirking, Creed crossed her legs and placed her elbow upon her knee, holding her head up as she gazed down at her prize. ”Found ya.” With her other hand, Creed pushed back a strand of his wet hair, flopping it over his head. ”You lose, cutie.”[/ul][/div]

That was not one of his best plans. Next time he should probably look before he leaps. His eyes were closed as his body sprawled out on the floor, too tired to pull himself to his feet. Aster could tell that he'd probably have more than a few bruises later, judging by how many times his body had been smashed up against the walls of the ditch. He parted his lips slightly and spat out a small amount of water that he'd unwillingly swallowed and sighed softly. This all could have gone so much better.
Aster started to push himself up when a sudden weight landed on his chest, forcing him back against the ground and causing him to let out a loud 'Oof!'. It was that woman again. He grunted softly and grit his teeth as he tried to pull himself up anyway, but it seemed hopeless. It wasn't that he was too weak so much as he couldn't get much leverage from this position. It was incredibly compromising. All he could really manage was to wince when she caused his hair to hit him in the forehead. He reached up to try and grab at her face, but found that his arm was about half a foot too short to manage.
It was a little hard for him to tell, however, with his bangs hovering in front of his eyes and making it a bit hard to see. He continued groping at the air to try and push her off, only for him to feel something else beneath his palm. The boy immediately yanked his hand back and spread his arms a little, grabbing the woman's knees and trying to push there to shift her off of him, grunting and groaning softly with his cheeks still reddened from the entire unfortunate situation.

With that said, Creed pressed her finger in a little harder before pulling it away. His hands pushed against her knees, almost forcing her from off his wet body. Creed didn’t put up too much of a fight, mainly due to the dampness of her behind. She pushed forward, standing up and brushing against her rear. Yep, it was certainly wet, and a little bit uncomfortable, but that was Creed’s own fault. She knew of the consequence before she decided to lower herself onto the damp boy. There was no real reasoning as to why she sat on him in the first place. It was purely to entertain herself and see him suffer against her weight. It was enlightening, for that short moment anyway. Creed took a few steps away from the brunette, allowing him to stand if he wished to. She pondered for a moment, placing a curling black finger around her chin before turning to face the fleeing boy. So, now that I have you again…” She started, dropping her hand and placing it against her bare hip. Her eyes narrowed playfully towards the male, smiling as she gave a slight tilt of the head. ”How do you intend to pay for the crime you have committed? Creed smiled. Not that he had to beg for forgiveness to Creed in the first place, since she has absolutely nothing to do with the fat man and his snack bar. She had a few ideas how he could pay. The first being him offering his soul to her; but that seemed to be the less likely offering to take place. The dark saviour paced forward, eyeing the boy up and down. His clothes hugged him more so now since he had decided to throw himself in the water. A wicked smiled formed on her lips as she circled the boy slowly. Her finger brushed under a strand of his wet hair and gave it a flick before continuing her gaze as she circled him. ”You could either go and purchase those things you had eaten… Creed came face to face with the boy again, she smiled, giggling softly hoping to nerve the boy. ”Or you can allow me to take your soul here and now… She took another walk around the male, this time her face pulled in a little too close for comfort. Her hand cupped his chin as she stared into his eyes, searching for a sign of emotion within. ”Or we can dance?” Creed was not referring to a song and dance, but a battle dance. To support this version, her four tentacles poured from her back and began to slither along the ground, her upper arm and around the boy’s ankle. The remaining free arm of darkness poses in the air; its sharp point aimed directly towards the dark haired boy’s face. If she wanted to, she could pierce him here and now. But Creed was a merciful being and would rather torture the poor boy before she decided to devour him. [/ul] [/div]

Aster winced when she pushed a nail into his flesh, leaving a crescent imprint on his forehead. He couldn't help but snicker internally at her comment... it was a little too late for that particular warning. But at least the awkwardness would soon come to an end. He took a deep breath when she pulled herself off of him, slowly getting up onto his own two feet while she attended to herself, brushing a hand along his chest as if trying to wipe the woman's cooties away.
When he finished, he shook from side to side like a wet dog to get rid of some of the water that still clung to his skin as well as drying out his clothes a little. Since his clothing was largely leather made from monster hide, it smelled... less than satisfactory when wet. It didn't bother him so much, but that was more because he was used to the smell than anything else. In any case, Aster let his arms drop to his sides, hanging limply while listening to the woman's comments.
Why did she keep insisting that he pay? For what? He hadn't even done anything yet! She was the one who needed to pay for her sins, of which he was sure there were many. But he wasn't sure what to accuse her of. She was a little obnoxious and unclothe, sure, but those weren't exactly things that he could call her out on. Of course, she gave him something to object to quickly enough. He pulled back slightly when she played with his hair again, but then came the threat upon his very soul.
The boy's eyes hardened, his gaze growing sharp when the woman leaned in to look into his eyes. It was clear now. She was a monster in disguise if she wanted to claim his soul. He would keep that in mind, if he ever encountered a being with her scent again. But for now... Aster crossed his right arm over his chest before suddenly whipping it from left back to right, intending to knock the woman back as a pillar of light filled his hand, meaning to shove her back far enough that her tendrils of darkness would not reach. When the light faded, a 4' long rod of metal remained in his grasp in the shape of a red, angular key with a maze pattern along the body.
Aster flipped the newly summoned weapon around in his hand, holding it in a reverse-grip behind his back while lifting his free hand in front of his chest, clenching it into a fist while shifting into the battle stance. He recognized the meaning behind her words, and he would defend himself from this wretched monster if necessary. "I don't know what manner of creature you are, but I'll skin you all the same!"

Creed smiled as she brushed down her arms, as though the boy had dirtied her. Judging from the sudden appearance of the weapon, Creed assumed that he was prepared to fight her. Why? She couldn’t quite muster. She only wanted to play, initially. It was too early in to fight with the boy. Creed hadn’t even got his name as of yet. She was willing to give him another chance; a chance for him to calm his bark and approach her with caution. After all, Creed was sure the boy wouldn’t last long. That was, until she looked over his key again. Creed placed both hands against her hips, frowning at his words. ”Creature?! How rude of you.” She took a step forward and gesture to herself before continuing. ”I’ll have you know, I’m practically human.” Creed grinned at this point. Her little fang dug into her lower lip gently, the hunger of wanting his soul had begun to choke her thoughts. It wouldn’t be long before she needed to zap someone of their soul. There were plenty of people around this end of the town. Maybe the boy needed to see what she could do? With that in mind, Creed smiled and took off. Unsure if he was following her, Creed would walk into a busier area of the town, a shopping district to be exact. She almost skipped along the cobblestone path and into a street. People minding their own business took a step back from the oncoming woman, whose tentacles were out on display for all to see. Creed paused as she reached a central location; a place where many people stood around, watching the unusual being. ”Time to feed.” Creed smirked, and with that said her four additional arms of darkness reached out and stabbed through the chest of four innocent civilians. Their bodies lifted in the air along with her tentacles, their lively warm colours of their skin began to fade into a pale purple as their soul was extracted from their body and into the void which Creed fed. That should keep her going for a little while longer. Her head turned, her purple eyes searching for the young man. Upon seeing him, Creed released the dead bodies from her grasp, allowing them to fall against the ground with a heavy thud. Screams and panic ridden people desperately fled the area, away from the death and away from Creed. [/ul]
