| Tseng let out a frustrated noise, standing in the middle of town with his PHS in hand. It seemed that he still didn't have any reception to be able to contact the other Turks. He supposed he could ask Avalanche how they kept in contact as it seemed to be far more reliable than the device in his hands now. Maybe even something similar to a headset where they could communicate while being on the same world. It would definitely be something worth looking into.
The Director flipped the phone shut before tucking it back into his pocket as his mind began to wander a bit. There were so many things that he needed to do after losing touch with all his Turks again. On top of that was the fact the President was still missing. If Rufus was missing, it meant that the Turks were failing at their job as they needed to protect him.
It didn't matter, one of the other Turks were probably with him. If not, the President was probably looking for one of them. Tseng would be sure that the President was found and protected. With the Turks having a base on Gaia as well as one in Radiant Garden, the likelihood of everything working out was high. Even if the Director was stressed out beyond belief, things always worked out.
"Could this week get any more stressful." He stated with a sigh, knowing he had an ex-police officer named Aya also looking for his President. "I could use a vacation..." He muttered to himself, rolling his shoulders before pausing to take a break, checking his PHS again. |

(Mind if I join?)
Traverse Town, a place the older Turk known as Rude knew well. He had come through the place multiple times, running into both good and bad things every time before being whisked away somewhere else. Before this back and forth between worlds had gotten on the Turk’s nerves, but over time he had come to enjoy being tossed back in Traverse Town time and time again. Unlike the laid back town of Twilight, the Turk preferred Traverse Town over the two and so had made it his home away from home for the time being. Being back in the familiar place put the man at ease and allowed him to explore once more at a leisurely place; however, it would seem that the town had changed since the last time he had visited. There were new areas added onto the place that weren’t there before, making the Turk wonder where it had all come from. He knew he had been away for a while, but it hadn’t been that long, so how was it that huge new sections had been built up within a few weeks?
Did the people truly work that fast here or had this place actually been a part of the town the whole time and for whatever reason he had simply overlooked it? The Turk frowned slightly at that thought. That both scenarios seemed unlikely. He knew this place like the back of his hand. There was no way he’d would’ve missed whole sections of town like that, so where did it all come from?
Curious, Rude explored the new places, taking note that the buildings and structures he found while new seemed very settled into town. He had searched the areas for some clues as to the how settled in sections of town would suddenly appear without warning, but didn’t find anything to help enlighten him on the situation. The only thing he could assume was that maybe like people, pieces of worlds got displaced by the strange darkness that plagued the worlds. It seemed odd to think such a thing, but how else did one explain this strange affair? It wasn’t like magic placed the sections there, right?
The older Turk shook his head at that thought not wanting to even think about it. He had too much on his platter already and did not need to have the worry of why pieces of places hid or appeared to add onto his plate. He’d just have to accept the fact that, the new sections of town were there and as long as the section weren't harming anyone and the Heartless weren’t messing with it, he wouldn’t have to worry about the places too much. He’d just add the new areas to his list of places to patrol while he was in town. End of story.
Coming back around to the more familiar parts of town, Rude began wandering through the streets wondering if perhaps he’d find anyone he knew here. After all, the last time he wandered through here he had managed to find Reno...even if he did end up losing him just as quickly. As he continued to walk, the Turk began to wonder where Reno had gone and if Tseng, Elena, and the President were alright. He hadn’t seen any of them in a while and the hopes of finding them in this town at this point was almost asking too much, so all he could do was pray they were alright. The action was something that brought him a little comfort, but not much. He really wish he could find them instead and know without a doubt they were okay.
The Turk sighed lightly to himself and tried to push the dark thoughts that were begin to boil up at the thought of not ever finding his friends again. He couldn’t think negatively or else he would indeed fail in quest to find them. Right. Positive thoughts.
At least that is what the Turk was thinking as he rounded the corner and came out in a more open area of town. As he did, he found himself freezing in his tracks as caught the familiar form and black suit of the Director. Staring in disbelief at how his wish had been granted so soon, he watched as the other man tried to get some device in his hand to work and then recovering from the shock, the calm Turk headed over to him feeling relieved that he had indeed found at least one person he had been searching for again.
As he approached, he heard the man muttering something about a stressful week and a vacation. He smiled slightly at the words.
“I think we all could use a vacation,” Rude said in his usual calm tones as he came to a rest a respectful distance from Tseng. “It has been quite a while. I am glad to see you in one piece, Director.”

| The Director heard a very familiar voice, a faint smile appearing on his lips as he turned to face the bald Turk. "I'll file the paperwork when we all get back to Edge..." He responded, referring to the vacation. "Heh, it has been a while. It's good to see you well as well, Rude." Tseng had been worried he wouldn't see any of his Turks again, and one decided to turn up on Traverse Town. Obviously, this was a good town for be able to find others. "I've been trying to contact the three of you... But...." He flashed the PHS. "...I don't seem to be connecting..." He instantly looked back up at the Turk from his phone as something clicked. "Have you seen the President? Or any of the others?" He asked, knowing the chances were slim. The last time Tseng had seen any of them was back in Edge. That was before he was sucked off to the other realms.
OOC: Sorry... I didn't realize you replied!! |

(No worries. ^^)
When Tseng responded to Rude’s voice by turning to the Turk with a faint smile and even joking back about putting in the paper work for vacation once they were home again, the older Turk’s small smile grew a bit as he nodded as if he approved of the decision. In reality, vacation would be far away indeed. Going home was a long shot…even with minor control of the dark portals that were his current method of travel. Still regardless of how bleak the situation seemed, it was the thought of something better that made the situation all the more easier to bear. Besides, he had now found an ally and friend instead of an enemy and to make matters even better was the fact that Traverse Town was calm today, so hopefully no fighting would have to be done.
In any case, finding Tseng here was a good thing in another way. Rude had been searching high and low for any signs of the Turks ever since he had left home and while he had found some allies along the way, he always quickly lost them and instead ended up with Heartless and other…unpleasant characters as company. The situation had been a dangerous one, but it had provided him with a wealth of information, he probably would not have gotten if things had turned out differently. The information he had kept him alive up until now and even had given him some direction to pursue until he could find the others again. It had been a task he had begun to think would never get completed with the way things had gone, but now things seemed to fall back on track. At least now, he had someone he could trade information with and make a plan of what to do next in this complicated mess that was the war between Light and Dark. A mess that the Turks had stayed out of for the most part, but for how long could they work around the mess?
Before Rude could even begin to ponder that question, Tseng’s voice returned him to the present. He was responding to his early comment about the time frame that had passed since their last meeting and how it was good to see him well too. In response, the older Turk simply nodded back knowing that Tseng would understand the silent communication. There was a brief pause and then Tseng was saying how he too had been trying to connect with himself, Reno, and Elena, but his PHS was not connecting.
Not surprising. It wasn’t like the people back home made devices that could connect across worlds. Even his own communication device was useless unless he was somewhere that the device could pick up a signal…and quite frankly, there weren’t too many worlds out there that could do that. So unless someone was found by sheer luck, communicating across electrical/digital lines was hopeless for the time being.
“Most places I’ve been to have also created the same results. It would seem finding a signal outside of Edge is very slim indeed,” Rude said as he thought for a second on the situation with the communication devices. He wondered if maybe there was a way to tweak that…their signal problem that is. Tweak and create a device that would be unhindered by distances. It would be a long shot and probably an even longer process if it could be done, but well worth it if it meant that the Turks could stay in contact with each other and even the President if they ever found the man again. He’d definitely look into it later.
As soon as this thought crossed his mind, the Turk looked over at the Director just in time to meet the other’s eyes as he looked up from his phone to him once again. The questions that he asked caused Rude to sigh lightly as he looked at the ground with a shake of his head.
“Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any of the Turks or the President since the last time we encountered each other in various worlds,” he said with air of disappointment. “I hope they are okay.” The last words were spoken softer than the first set, almost like a mumble rather than something being spoken out loud. As the words left him, the older Turk began to wonder once more just where everyone was out there and, if like Tseng, he’d be able to find them again.

| Tseng was glad to see the bald man. The Turk was really worried about his subordinates and not being able to contact them. He had hoped that one of the Turks was with Rufus as the President shouldn't be wandering the worlds without a bodyguard. His mind was slightly distracted by his plans on how to locate and collect the white suited man. That's when Rude replied about the spotty reception off Edge. Tseng nodded stating that the reception on Edge wasn't that amazing all the time either. It seemed they would need to find a new way to communicate. He could probably get that information from the Hollow Bastion Committee if needed. They were mostly Avalanche, but he didn't think there would be any real problems. His eyes shifted up to Rude once more, making eye contact. "They're all talented and bright enough to keep themselves safe. Even Rufus knows how to defend himself. I highly doubt any of our enemies will find him first since we are having difficulty, they will be worse off."He paused and sighed, folding his arms. "I have gotten a base together on Radiant Garden with Aerith's assistance. She is part of an organization there called the Hollow Bastion Committee. It is made up of Cid Highwind, Yuffie Kisaragi, and Aerith of Avalanche. There's a few other members, but they aren't as much of a threat." He let the Turk soak it in before informing him that if they were to get split up again, that would be the best place for them to meet back up until their cell reception worked once more.
OOC: Ok, my staff duties have calmed down a bit~ <3 Sorry it's so short though. My muse is pretty non-existent for the moment since I want to get things rolling. |

((No worries. <3 My muse is not so great on this end either. Became brain dead at the end, so this is a bah post >.<. In any, I can’t wait to see what you guys have come up with ^^.))
There was a moment of silence between the two Turks as each fell into this own train of thoughts. It would appear that they were distant from one another with this silence, but one would be mistaken to assume this. While Tseng was not an almost constant companion like Reno had been up until this point for the older Turk, the two Turks still shared a deep bond that connected them in a way that few others could be connected. There was a trust and understanding here that did not need any words to decipher between the pair that shared the silence.
Like open books, each man could read the other well enough to understand the general concerns they had for the rest of their group and also the concerns that came up with the lack of the ability to communicate across worlds. They needed to fix this little hole or at least figure out a way to pinpoint the others….the President especially. It wasn’t that Rude did not have faith in the man’s abilities versus the Turks, it was just Rufus Shinra was not one to be out in the field like them. He was one to stay behind the front lines instead while himself, Reno, Elena, and Tseng did their best to protect him.
Granted, sometimes their protection wasn’t enough against the likes of Sephiroth or Kadaj, but still at least there was someone between him and the line of fire, but in this situation the man would have to rely on his own means to survive until he could be placed back in safe hands again.
The whole situation of unknowns were bothersome to Rude and probably even more bothersome to Tseng, who acted as leader in Rufus’s place. The older Turk couldn’t imagine the amount of stress the situation was causing the guy, but he didn’t think it was enough to bring the guy down. After all, like himself Tseng always had a plan and kept himself well informed of the situations at hand.
In any case, the pair discussed communication devices for a bit before Rude had given his sad report on his knowledge of the President’s location and then shortly after that expressed his concern for their allies, the worry too much to keep in. In response, Tseng looked up at him and met him eye to eye even through the shades. As they made eye contact, the other spoke.
Tseng said that he was sure the others were putting their skills and brain to good use to keep themselves out of trouble and Rufus could protect himself well enough if push came to shove. As for the enemy finding him before they did, the chance of that were pretty slim since his own Turks had trouble enough finding the man in white. To these words, Rude simply nodded not able to argue with that logic as he let some of his worries melt away as he took comfort in the words. Another moment of silence fell over the area for a few seconds and then it was broken as Tseng sighed and crossed his arms before speaking again.
This time he spoke of a base he had created on Radiant Garden with the help of Aerith before speaking of the group she was with. He named off the familiar names of people from their world that was also apart of the group before mentioning a few others. He said that they weren’t a threat, but Rude couldn’t help, but thinking that if they were on the wrong side of the coin with that group they would be a threat.
He hadn’t dealt with the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee personally, but he had heard much talk of the warriors that had collected together and formed the group. He knew their leader, Leon, was pretty powerful and with people from their own world backing him up, he was quite sure that combined they could be a big problem if they should cross them. On the other hand, they would be valuable allies to have too. Not only would they expand the small network they had, they would also be a nice safety net to lean back on should things go wrong. A truce to help them through these rather tough times. It would be a beneficial alliance and something they had done with AVALANCHE when Kadaj was a problem back home.
While Tseng did not say it out loud, Rude got the feeling that the man could see the potential in this too. This thought was confirmed as the Director informed him that it was this base he had built up that they should meet up at if they were separated again. Again, Rude nodded.
“Understood,” he said before shifting his weight to the right as he tilted his head at the man before him. “But what is our plan for now? The worlds are in chaos and I don’t think it is going to clear up any time soon…” Rude said, trailing off at the end knowing he did not need to say much for Tseng to understand his concerns for their main mission of finding the President and the others….

Jovial Prince of Thieves ❦ Traverse Town; First District❦ It was a good time for a certain Thief. He had charmed his way into the heart of a bar-cafe and got himself a few free drinks as he boasted of his adventures. Outside in the open-air cafe the candles lit on the tables flickered against the shifting winds. The bar's door was wide open and from it wafted the smell of stale beer and odd foods unique to these sort of off establishments. These places were the favorite hangout of the rowdy brigand. Ladies swooning over his tales and older gentleman relishing in memories of their old days of traveling across worlds. There was the soft sound of a Piano accompanied by a Violin and boisterous, drunk laughter from patrons as the monkey-tailed traveler stood upon the bar's counter and regaled them with his tall tales, tail held high!
The male was dressed rather neatly for a brigand, enough to make him rather dashing, but not enough to make you wonder if he was a noble. He was high enough in the hierarchy to hold claim to a proper living. He had been given a violin and bow on request. The dapper villain backflipped as he animatedly described his adventure. He landed with perfect balance, bobbing on his heel. His tail was curled up and the violin held tightly, the body facing back toward the door, and the bow pointed out like a dagger in his main hand.
"And I jumped away from the monstrous warrior, who stood a hundred fields high!" He slashed out the bow, his daggers still holstered in their sheath. He smirked and peered through his bangs with his sharp, azure eyes causing the ladies to giggle at his suggestive stare. "Of course there was no way I was going to leave without my princess. I swore to steal her!" He so claimed.
He raised his head and shuffled forward in a fencing action, thrusting the bow forward. He called out his strike in a guttural 'huah!' as shuffled back as quickly as he dashed forward. He flicked back his head and forced his hair to part from his features, revealing the youthful brigand.
"'This is not my first charge into the heart of a kingdom's beauty! Your leader shall become my ransom!' I called to the monstrous Ancient Knight which wore rusting armor from his time spent standing guard over the princess' tower!" The thief stirred the hearts of the patrons, more beer and sake offered to the traveler as he roused the patrons to eat and drink more to his tale. "I laughed at the Iron beast and used my wiles to outsmart him! I used the sleeping weed powered to cast the princess into a slumber and scooped her up into my arms!"
He flexed his arms to generate laughter. He was rather short and though he was muscular for his size he looked quite weak. Little did they know he was physically capable. "I was able to steal away the princess and ransom her for a lovely reward that got me these very rare, expensive threads...." He smirked and tugged at his jabot causing more laughs to spill out from the patrons.
'Did ya find your self kidnappin' any more royals boy?!' Someone shouted drunkenly. Zidane raised his head and thrust the violins bow at the man before he pulled the instrument into its ready position and played a few notes.
"But of course, how else will I feed my expensive habits of ladies and drink?" He mused as the men laughed. The boy continued to play his little diddy as he started to dance around to the claps of the drunks.
"Sometimes, you can't think everything out. You have to listen to your heart."

Genome | Light | Thief

| Rude was right, the Turks shared a close bond. They worked together on a daily basis and had seen each other's best and worst moments. They had been in life and death situations where they protected one another and the President. It was a rather close knit family if that was the proper word to try and describe their relationship. The four of them that remained to protect the president had grown closer than any of the other Turks before them. So, silence did not mean that it was uncomfortable.
Rufus was the only one of their group that could be a bit distant. It was obvious to Tseng that the President had grown attached to the Turks, not that he would ever admit it or show them it. At the same time Rufus trusted them with his life, this was proven countless times throughout their lives. The Turks were always there to protect him. Yet, the blonde president also proved that he could handle himself to a point. As long as he could reason with someone, there was a chance he'd keep himself useful.
As for the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee, Tseng could see the benefit in befriending and allying themselves with the group. They had an area set up and were more knowledgeable to the worlds that the Turks were completely unaware of. In this case, it might actually be in their best interest to work with them in order to locate the President.
That's when the question presented itself and the Director frowned faintly. "Finding President ShinRa should be our top priority next to keeping ourselves alive. We're useless if we're injured in this situation since we can't call in reinforcements." He began. "Next would be to locate the other Turks and make them aware of the base in Radiant Garden so we can have some sort of communication." The Turk stopped to think, unsure.
"I have been debating talking with the Committee about offering our services in return for an extra few pairs of eyes in locating the President. However, I'm not sure how well it would be perceived knowing that Highwind and Kisaragi are part of that committee. ShinRa still doesn't have the best reputation." He stated, folding his arms slightly. He glanced up at the man with the sunglasses, hoping he might have some insight or opinions on the matter.
That's when he overheard some commotion from the tavern near their current location. Tseng had been on this world before and it wasn't often that the tavern became so loud. He glanced briefly at Rude before shifting to find out what was going on. A few words hit his ear as they approached and the conversation became clearer. Princess, Steal, and ransom being the first word that would really touch his ears. After a moment, the suited man stood near the group, listening into the discussion as he heard the end of the story.
He had outsmart someone and ransomed a Princess. The Turk was not a large fan of this sort of thing and was about to glance back at Rude when a question caught his interest again. This question was about kidnapping any royal boys. The reply made the Turk frown a bit as he stated he had kidnapped a royal boy. Tseng wasn't sure what the monkey meant by "royal", but it was a possibility that this monkey boy had taken Rufus or maybe knew of the white suited man. The President definitely dressed as though he were royalty sometimes.
Tseng looked back at Rude, his eyes telling him this was something they needed to pursue. The boy could easily be grabbed when the crowd cleared a bit. |
