He didn't mind that she killed for fun? [red]He's willing to accept me for who I am? He actually wants to spend time with a homicidal psycho like me? Although I'd consider recreational murder to be a bit more than a "quirk" as he put it.[/red] Claire listened to Felix speak and she allowed a small smile to appear on her lips and her cheeks took on a slight pink hue from her blushing a bit when he said he wouldn't abandon her. [red]"You're right. You are insane."[/red] She said in a joking manner. [red]"But thank you."[/red] Claire added in a more serious tone.
As they approached the cave's entrance Claire heard what Felix did. The source of the noise was a gorilla much like the one that she had killed before her fight with the freelancer. [red]Oh great. That's just what we need right now.[/red] Before Felix could back up and move on the best woke up and punched Felix in the chest. He didn manage to jump back to lessen the impact but the two humans were still knocked out back out of the cave. Even though Felix's body was between her's and the ape's fist she still felt the punch herself. [red]"Damn it. How are we supposed to take this thing out?[/red] Claire thought to herself.
Then Claire heard Felix speak again and Claire looked at him over his shoulder. [red]"I don't know. Although the idea of eating a monkey isn't appealing..."[/red] She replied as he set her down gently against a tree and watched as he turned his attention back to the raging animal. The gorilla tried to slam a fist down on to Felix's head but he was able to dodge it and strike at the ape with his katana. The's beast's stomach no sported a large wound across it's stomach but it wasn't done yet. It next tried to swing it's arm out and knock Felix away but the freelancer ducked under this strike too and buried his sword into the animal down to the hilt and left it there, backing away from the ape that was no doubt experiencing a great amount of pain.
Felix asked her how she wanted her ape meat cooked and Claire grimaced at the thought of eating monkey. [red]"Can we just kill the damn thing and worry about that later?"[/red] She asked with impatience. She knew they were both hurting a great deal but she just wanted to rest and this creature was preventing that. She wasn't mad at Felix but her tone might have came across like she was. Her gaze shifted to the ape as she unsheathed her chakrams. It was going to feel a bit awkward to do this while sitting down, leaning against a tree but all she needed to do was throw her chakrams and they would take care of the rest.
Her eyes began glowing a bright red. Shadows poured down from the crimson orbs flowing down her cheeks, her neck, and swirled around her arms until they covered her chakrams. After a moment the shadows dissappeared seemingly doing nothing to the weapons. Claire then threw them as hard as she should and they flew directly towards the ape. They struck it's torso, legs, and arms a total of twelve times. Each time the weapons simply passed through the creatures body with out leaving any trace that they were there except for the howling and writhing that was coming from the gorilla as it dropped to the ground no doubt experiencing the most agonizing and intense pain ever. This was because even though her chakrams simply phased through the gorilla's body it felt every bit of pain as it felt like the creatures limbs had been amputated from it's body and the chakrams had sliced clean through it's torso.
Claire's weapons once again became tangible and watched as the beast was writhed in agony. Claire made eye contact with the beast as she once chakram at the it's head, it lodged itself in the ape's head right between the eyes through the forhead and the gorilla was silenced forever. Using her limit break in such a weakened state was incredibly draining. [red]"Idiotic beast."[/red] She mumbled before her eyes closed and her body slumped back against the tree. She was out cold.

A momentary lapse in attention was all it took for Felix’s one weakness to reveal itself, his aversion to giant monkey arms of death. Indeed, his comment about how to cook the gorilla and the response had distracted him for but a moment, thus preventing him from evading the attack. The giant gorilla would grab him in its right hand, crushing him in its grasp as Felix let out a loud scream before he was tossed. Or perhaps more so than tossed, he was whipped into the neighboring walls of the canyon they were in, his bones shattering upon impact. It wasn’t a pleasant feeling to say the least, his head spinning, his body trembling, and he could feel more blood escape his mouth in a violent cough. Just staying conscious was a chore in his state and while he attempted to stand up to give it another go, the creature had other things in mind. Indeed, before he even got on his feet the beast lumbered on over to him, gripping him by the head in its right palm. It would then use its incredible strength to squeeze tightly, Felix gritting his teeth tightly as his hands instinctively gripped against the gorilla’s large wrist. Not that it would do anything though, even in his terrible state he knew just gripping against the beast’s wrist wouldn’t change the situation much. Sadly that state he was in didn’t allow him to put up any resistance, activating a manipulator was impossible and his katana was rather far. There was no way he could reach for it nor anyway he could maintain focus on a manipulator long enough to change this dire situation. No, as far as he could tell this was the end for him, it seemed he would be dying to a damn dirty ape. Yet somehow his lips seemed to curve into a grin, taking some sort of pleasure in the situation despite the fact that he was about to die. The reason being was that at the very least in his final moments he was saving a pretty woman cause there was no way that the gorilla would last long. It had a sword in its stomach and was bleeding heavily; it wouldn’t be able to continue fighting after it had managed to finish him. At the very least she would live on and his life would have been made use of for something other than being a freelancer that took many dirty jobs. Not that he felt bad about them per say but it was an uplifting feeling to know that at least his death would mean something. It would mean that Claire would live to see another day. Although why I care so much about her surviving is beyond me,[/i] he mused as his arms went limp and he ceased his struggle. He didn’t have the energy to fight back anymore and it was time for him to take that nap that he had desperately wanted before… or so he thought. Instead what happened was that around the same time his arms went limp, the beast had let go of him, his first thought being it wanted to rough him up more. Contrary to this thought though, when Felix turned his head toward Claire he noticed something rather peculiar about her eyes. They were glowing a fierce red, his facial expression turning to shock upon noting that and the weird Chakrams that were flying about the air. Yes, he hadn’t seen her pull those ones out before but from what he could tell, the creature was in a hellish pain unlike any other. Even though no physical wounds appeared, the beast howled in pain as it fell down to the ground completely limp and motionless. The red-headed freelancer wasn’t sure what to make of it but didn’t have much time to contemplate before the beast was silenced permanently. Indeed, a tangible Chakram would suddenly find itself embedded in the creature’s skull, its death coming rather quickly from that precise toss of it. Looking back over to Claire, the freelancer’s eyes widened as the woman he had been protecting had slumped over on the tree and shut her eyes. He didn’t know what to make of that, hell in her state considering all the blood she had lost it wouldn’t be surprising if she died. Not only that but that technique she had performed, surely it was beyond exhausting and wasn’t something she should do in that state. ”Claire!” he shouted as a sudden burst of adrenaline coursed through his body, picking himself up as he dashed toward the girl as quickly as he could. Stopping next to her, he quickly dropped to one knee as deep concern washed over his face and he gripped her shoulders tightly. He shook her now in a state of panic, his mind already thinking the worst considering the rather terrible situation and state she was in. He didn’t want to lose someone who could understand him, he didn’t want to lose someone so different, and he didn’t want to lose… her. He simply didn’t want to lose this girl in a stupid canyon, in a stupid jungle, thanks to some stupid overgrown beast of an ape. Tears began to well up in his eyes and in his panic he had pulled back too hard against her shoulders and fell back too. ”Gah,” he let out of his lips as he fell on his back roughly, Claire’s body pressing against his chest almost as if it was crushing him. She wasn’t a heavy girl but considering the broken bones he had right now among other injures, even her light frame was a bit much. However, after a moment in this awkward position a sudden realization came upon him or rather a soft yet hot puff of air. Indeed, escaping from the woman’s lips and touching his neck was her breath, a fact that greatly elated the freelancer and his rather heavy heart. Placing his hands behind himself, he would struggle to push up from the ground as he brought himself up to a less awkward position. Claire, having been atop him, would follow suit and despite the fact she was unconscious the red-head couldn’t help but wrap his arms around her tightly. ”Jeez you really are a load of trouble,” he started, a small snicker escaping his lips, ”But I’m glad you’re alright,” he added, his tone far more sincere this time. Whatever the case, he would then scoop the girl into his arms, holding her bridal style as he carried her over to the discovered cave. Laying her down as gently as he could, the red-headed warrior crashed down right next to her, all energy in his body fading away completely. It seemed the energy he had gotten in that state of panic left when he had confirmed her condition and now he was back to being in a great amount of pain. It hurt like hell yet as his head tilted to the side resting on a petite shoulder, he couldn’t help but smile probably the widest and warmest smile that had ever come across his face since day one. ”I won’t abandon you… no matter what comes at us,” he mumbled as he dozed off into a deep sleep.

Hours passed before one of the caves new occupants began to stir. As Claire slowly began to rejoin the world of living her eyes fluttered open and she found that she was inside of a cave. She remembered that she and Felix had run into a large ape that had tried to kill them and that her limit break had apparently done what it was supposed to if they now occupied the cave that said monkey had once called home. Claire certainly hoped that they wouldn't run into anything like that anytime soon. At least while they're not in their current state. She doubted she could even kill a Bite Bug right now.
Her wounds were killing her right now although taking that rather long nap seemed to ease the pain slightly. She recalled Felix taking a beating before her shadow chakrams killed the creature. [red]Is Felix okay? Why do I even care?[/red] As Claire became more aware of her surroundings she tried to bring her arms behind herself to lift herself up into a more seated position but she noticed a weight on her left shoulder. Claire looked down and saw Felix's head resting on her shoulder. At first, it startled her that someone else was so close to her but then she remembered that she had done something similar when he was carrying her through the forest. Besides, he looked like his body was barely holding itself together after all the injuries he had sustained so Claire decided to let it slide.
Suddenly her stomach rumbled and she became acutely aware of the lack of food that had occured since she got to this world especially with all that has happened. With great care not to wake Felix, Claire slid her shoulder out from under his head and made sure that his head didn't hit the cavern floor. Once that was done Claire sat up and looked around. Her eyes fell to the entrance of the cave where the body of the ape they had fought still layed there. [red]"Gross. But there isn't anything else... This better not leave this cave."[/red] Claire muttered to herself as she slowly and carefully dragged herself out to the ape's corpse. It was now daylight out so Claire had some good visibility and with much hestation she took her chakram and began cutting chunks of meat off of the monkey's body. Once she had enough she crawled back into the cave, just inside the entrance, and spotted some twigs and sticks that the ape had apparently gathered up.
Claire had to take frequent brakes since her arms tired out quickly dragging her body around but she managed to get the wood into a pile and used [red]Fire[/red] to light the wood. Once the fire got going Claire speared several chunks of meat on a few sticks and set them over the fire making sure they were far enough away from the base of the fire to not catch themselves. Claire then sat back against a larger rock near the fire to keep an eye on the meat as it cooked.

Dreams... quite a trip they can be considering the limitless possibilities one has when in a lucid state, nothing is impossible whilst sleeping. This fact of life applied to the freelancer as well and given his current situation it was only natural that his dreams involved a nearby red-head. Yes, at the time being his dreams included that lovely crimson haired woman and boy were they rather vivid in their details. The places, the positions, the roles, the mess, and there was a couple others involved in this rather intense dream as well. Yes, it seemed his mind was really going to work in creating this scenario, the scenario of being involved in... cooking with the family.
Indeed, despite all the other perverted things his mind could conjure up it seemed set on placing him in the role of a father. Claire was the mother and a few children were running about with cooking utensils that had been recently used. Needless to say, said utensils were making a mess all over the kitchen much to the dismay of the couple but despite that they smiled. They smiled, looked at each other, and laughed knowing full well that their kids were far too energetic for their own good but still the most lovable scamps. It would be a pain to clean up later but the fact alone that they were having such a good time doing something so trivial was uplifting.
But dreams couldn't last forever and eventually the freelancer woke up, his eyes opening groggily as he scratched his head. He wasn't sure what to think of the dream he just had, why it was so detailed, why it involved children, and why it involved Claire no less. The family life really wasn't something that would suit his lifestyle after all, he was a freelancer who was constantly on the move. He was always looking for work and he couldn't afford to spend the time to raise kids, that would simply be impossible. Not only that but he didn't even like children that much, they were just snot-nosed brats most of them and always had to be placated. Be a little too rough with them, say something wrong, or do damn near anything and they'll cry until their lungs gave out. And to top it all off, the woman he had just had a fight to the death with was a part of that dream, a very important part of it. He hardly even knew her and while he certainly felt connected to her whether or not he thought they should be together was another matter entirely.
Ugh, I wonder if this is just the suspension bridge effect or something,[/i] he attempted to reason but had yet to fully awaken and his brain refused to attempt any sort of logical reasoning. Instead, his eyes traveled over to the woman in question, watching as she began to cook the beast that they had slain just a few hours ago. Upon seeing that his stomach grumbled right on cue, a small snicker escaping his lips as he shook his head lightly and attempted to stand up. It was a rather painful procedure but he had somehow managed it and began to make his way toward the red-headed beauty. Within a few steps he was at her side and took a seat next to her, a giant sigh of relief escaping his lips as he fell to the ground. Looking over to her for a moment, a small smirk curved against his lips as he shrugged his arms in a dramatic gesture to break the ice.
"Y'know I was really enjoying the shoulder pillow, I figured you still owe me for making use of my impromptu pillow with my body service earlier," he started, his tone light-hearted as a small snicker escaped his lips, "It's not everyday one gets to use the #1 Pillow of Radiant Gardens, no less get a piggyback ride while they're at it. If I were charging you my normal rate you'd be way in the red at this point, I'm a rather expensive pillow for one to rent hehe," he joked, a grin curving against his lips as he winked at her. Looking back to the meat for a moment, it seemed that it had been cooked long enough for his liking and thus he quickly reached out a hand to grab some. Blowing on his share for a moment, the freelancer would then take a bite out of it, finding its taste incredible although whether it was because it was such an exotic meat or because he was that damn hungry who could say? Whatever the case, after a few bites he would then look back to Claire, a warm smile appearing on his face before his lips parted to speak.
"So after we eat breakfast and go off to find my Gummi Ship and fly off wherever what are your plans?" he started, scratching the back of his neck a bit nervous for some reason or another, "Er not that it's any of my business but I'm just curious is all! Maybe if you're not busy we can umm hang out or something?" he finished, his tone showing his nervousness at that time as he turned his gaze as if he were embarrassed. Well to be fair he kind of was, that dream of his had popped up back in his head again and it made it a little awkward talking to the girl.
Bah come on Felix step up your game, since when do you have trouble talking to girls? Jeez this is like 3rd grade all over again, I might want to check if I caught some cooties later after the hospital visit, he berated himself mentally as he awaited any sort of response from Claire.

Claire thought about the man she was occupying this cave with as the meat cooked. He had almost gotten himself killed to save her from first the stampede, then her injuries, then the ape. She wondered what would make him stick his neck out for her like that. After all, they were complete strangers who had only met once before and all they did was fight. It was the same this time. They met in that clearing and she had attacked him on sight and just like at Port Royal. She got her ass handed to her by the red headed mercenary.
And then like it was said, he saved her, even when she was ready to die. At first, she had resented him even more for not letting her die like she wanted but in the time that followed it surprised and disturbed her with how easily she had opened to him. There was just something about him that made her feel... safe? Claire had spent her life telling herself that safely was a lie. That the moment you let down your guard is the moment you lose. Yet even with that belief ingrained into Claire's mind she still felt some kind of need to let this man closer to her than she ever let anyone and it scared her.
Claire was shaken from her thoughts by Felix as he sat down beside her. She hadn't even realized that he had gotten up and now he was right next to her. He could have finished her off without her ever knowing. But again the dreadful feeling of safety came up again. Somehow she knew that he wouldn't kill her. Not after all the trouble he had gone to to keep her safe from harm and nearly getting killed himself in the process. Claire was... frightened. She had been alone all her life and now here was a man that had protected her and promised to not abandon her.
Felix had made some comment about him enjoying her shoulder as a pillow and charging her for the piggyback ride earlier. [red]"Well, i figured one of use had to get food and you were still out cold. I couldn't have gotten it if I stayed where I was. And maybe... maybe there will be other oppurtunities..."[/red] Had she really just said that? She didn't even know that she knew how to flirt. It felt... good strangely enough. Then she heard him ask what her plans were once they found his ship and left this world but he quickly stated that it really wasn't any of his business and that maybe they could "hang out" as he put it. [red]"Well my immediate plans are to fix this tunnel in my leg but after that... I don't know. I guess I wouldn't mind going with you for a while."[/red]
After she said that she looked back down to the fire and the meat. She picked up a stick with some food on it and took a bite. She was trying her best to avoid Felix's gaze. Here she was, a cold-hearted killer and she was acting like teenage girl in high school and the slight blushing on her cheeks wasn't helping matters. Claire was scared to let someone in but at the same time there was something about Felix that drew her to him. She just didn't know where it was going to lead. She could only deal with surviving right now and see where things would go.

Indeed, it hadn’t been spoken in a particularly sultry tone or anything but based on what she said it was safe to assume she liked him. Well at least a little, I mean they had just meant after all so getting all hopeful wasn’t a good idea, not one bit. Well not that the freelancer particularly cared, it wasn’t like he had deep feelings for her or anything, this was just the suspension bridge effect. Well not entirely, she was rather pretty, interesting, strong, entertaining, and above all understood what it was like to be born with a crappy hand. Indeed, they had both been dealt a deuce-seven when they were born, although he would have to say hers was off-suit as she had it much harder. Unlike him, Claire had lost her parents at a young age and the freelancer couldn’t even begin to imagine what that was like. He couldn’t imagine what that absence of unconditional parental love was like to experience; he had always had his mom and pa there for him. Before he could think on the matter any longer though, the red-head next to him snapped him out of his thoughts with her quick response. Looking back to her, his facial expression showed his surprise quite evidently, even more so when he noticed she was being rather coy and… cute. Indeed, she was trying to avoid his gaze and focus on the meat in front of her, almost as if she couldn’t believe what she was saying. To be fair, the freelancer couldn’t believe it either, including what he had said earlier when offering to spend some time with her. Every other female he had interacted with from his recollection he had dealt with much differently, they were always flings never having particularly serious feelings. While that wasn’t to say he was a womanizer who threw women to the curb or a horn dog, it was more so that he never truly gave one a chance. He had never opened up to anyone about his past except for Claire which was more surprising considering he had had no obligation to. Sure she had told him her life story but he could have simply lied about his own or had not told her anything. Hell this whole situation was completely bizarre; the lengths he was going to not only protect her but to get closer to her. While the freelancer always protected women fiercely, he had never jumped off a cliff for one or fought against a gorilla with giant monkey arms of death. While the freelancer had always treated women with respect and sincerity, he had never opened up to one and revealed his past. And while the freelancer always put on a bright expression when talking to women, he had never smiled as warmly or sincerely as he did with Claire. Perhaps it could all be attributed to the suspension bridge effect, the psychological phenomenon where two people in danger confuse feelings of excitement for affection. It would wrap things up nicely if one wanted to believe that but there was two issues that Felix was having with that theory. The first was that he was completely aware of that phenomenon; would the effects really be as strong on someone that was well aware of it? The second was that at this point they were pretty much in the clear and yet his heart still skipped a beat when he stole a glance. It was all very confusing and to be frank he was in no state to sort his emotions out or try to figure it all out. No, there were more pressing concerns to deal with, like getting out of this canyon and finding his Gummi Ship, hopefully relatively safe and sound. Even if the worst was over, Claire still had an injury and while he had treated it somewhat, it was still something to worry about. They had food in their bellies now too and since it was morning it would be much easier to travel with the sunlight illuminating their path unlike the previous night. With that thought process running through his head and his meal finished, Felix would stand up as he extended his right hand toward Claire for her to grab hold of. ”Hehe sounds like a plan, if I could I would certainly like to get to know you better,” he started but as the sentence escaped his lips that dream had flashed in his head again. Suddenly, a red tint would stain his cheeks as he averted his gaze, a sheepish grin curving against his lips as he used his other hand to scratch the back of his head nervously, ”Err not that I mean that in that kind of way… err not that I mean that you’re not attractive… err not that I mean that’s the only thing I’m thinking about… err not that I mean…,” and once it started it seemed like he wasn’t going to stop, the freelancer being the exact opposite of the smooth character he normally was. As it would seem, that dream had really struck a chord in him and around this fiery red-head he just couldn’t maintain the same amount of composure he did normally. There was something about her that made him lose his composure, that made him feel at peace and that made him feel undeniably… great. He wasn’t sure what it was but he certainly planned to find out even if it meant he looked like an idiot in the process. Indeed, nothing was going to stop him from pursuing this feeling, this feeling that swelled up in his heart and burst forth regardless of his will. I made a promise to her anyway that I wouldn’t abandon her no matter the circumstances… and well she’d kill me if I tried to at this point hehe, |

At this point Claire was more just playing with her food more than actually eating it as she and Felix talked. She still wasn’t sure what was happening but she was smart enough to recognize that she was developing feelings for the red-headed mercenary that was sitting next to her. She didn’t know why this was happening but it didn’t feel bad and the fact that he was returning the flirting led Claire to believe that he was feeling something too. Claire was trying to keep herself composed as he talked. He said that he would like to get to know her better and honestly Claire wanted to do the same with him.
It sounded like he realized how it could have sounded to her as he kept stammering and going on and on about what he was really trying to say. A part of Claire found his ranting to be aggrivating but a bigger part of her found it to be… cute. Claire looked over at him and placed her free hand on his arm and looked at him. [red]”Felix, I know what you meant. You can shut up now.”[/red] Claire said in a tone that conveyed that she wasn’t really upset with him for going on and on. In fact there was a hint of amusement in the chakram wielder’s tone.
Claire didn’t know what was going to happen after she and Felix found their way out of this canyon and got to a place where their wounds could be taken care of properly but she allowed a small part of her to hope that Felix would stick around for it. She would never openly admit it but she didn’t like the thought of she and the freelancer to part ways after they both were back to full health. She did remember the promise he made to not abandon her but she had been betrayed in the past but she hoped against hope that this promise wouldn’t turn out like the others.
[red]”Well Felix. Now that we’ve rested and eaten we should get underway soon before it gets dark again. I hope you can remember where you left your ship. If yo were up above the canyon we might have to climb back up to find it.”[/red] Claire said as she waved her hand over the fire and the cold blast of ice from her Blizzard spell choked out the flames and ended their dance. She was ready to go but then she realized one crucial fact. She couldn’t walk in her condition and she knew that Felix was in no shape to carry her again. [red]”Um… how do you suppose we get out of here? You’re not in any condition to drag me around again.”[/red]
Claire was starting to feel like a burden to Felix at this point she hated it. She never liked having to depend on others and the feeling of just wanted him to leave her here to die began creeping up again. However, as she thought about it she knew that was something Felix would never go for. He had made a promise and he seemed like that type that kept his promises. That comforted Claire a fair amount and she decided that they would have to figure out something to get both of them mobile again. She didn’t see anything in the cave that they could use though and Claire let out a sigh. [red]”I don’t suppose you got any ideas?”[/red] She asked Felix. Claire tried to hide it but a hint of hopelessness still could be heard in her question.

He looked back to Claire having averted his gaze, a red hue on his cheeks as she assured him that she knew what he meant and he could refrain from speaking. This caused his expression to soften as he grinned sheepishly, a nervous chuckle escaping his lips as he felt a bead of sweat slide down his face. It was a truly odd sensation he was feeling right now with this girl, being so concerned about what he said and what he did. Normally, he would have said that type of line without any hesitation and let the girl decide what it meant depending on the context of the situation. In this scenario though he didn't wish for it to be interpreted wrongly as upsetting a girl that made him feel like this didn't seem very bright... and well the whole she might kill him thing was there too but details!
”Hehe sorry, I suppose I'm just not my usual self around you although I can't say that I find it to be a bad thing, I kind of enjoy it,” he replied, gripping her forearm and pulling her up to her feet. As he did so, the beautiful red-head would give a little bit of a briefing to the freelancer in terms of the current situation and that haste was a must. He certainly agreed, a curt nod being his response as she then put out the fire she had started but seemed to realize something else as she did so. The realization hit Felix at about the same time as he thought back on the battle with the gorilla and his giant monkey arms of death. They were both pretty injured right now, Claire with a tunnel in her leg that prevented her from really walking about and Felix just beat up all over. If they had to climb the freelancer certainly wouldn't be able to carry her whilst scaling a giant canyon, it would be far too dangerous. This fact caused him to frown slightly as his brain seemed to consider for a moment to leave her behind but the thought was banished as soon as it came in.
Yes, the logical part of his mind was saying to leave her behind but there was no way he was going to do that, his heart wouldn't allow it. It would be so easy to leave her behind, she wouldn't be able to chase him and would most likely die in the canyon left unattended so her death threat of little concern. Even if she survived, he was fairly certain he could best her in combat again if need be or flee if she managed to get the upper hand on him. This was all true but there was no damn way he was leaving her behind, he had made a promise and as a freelancer if he couldn't honor his word then he had no right to call himself a freelancer. Furthermore, there was something special about her that he couldn't let go and well if him putting his life on the line to save her thus far didn't prove that this decision would. Indeed, the decision to not abandon her despite how much sense it made, he refused to leave her behind and would be sure to protect her with everything he had.
This deliberation in his head was quickly cut off as he heard Claire sigh, turning back to her as his expression softened and his concern showed on his face. The next set of words only made him feel worse as he could hear in her tone the hopelessness that they wouldn't make it out of here. He would frown for a moment before his expression suddenly became serious, pulling the red-head into his arms and embracing her. He would nestle his chin into the crook of her neck for a moment as he shook his head lightly before parting his lips to speak.
”Don't worry, I'll make sure to get us out of here no matter what it takes,” he started, releasing the embrace around her as he placed his hands on her shoulders and smiled warmly, ”They don't call me the #1 Freelancer of Radiant Gardens for no reason, I always get the job done no matter what it is and you're my #1 priority right now,” he added, as he closed his eyes in thought for a moment. And in just a moment the freelancer's eyes would open back up, an idea popping into his head on how he could carry her and get them out of this canyon. Not wasting any time, Felix would throw her left arm over his shoulders as he lead her out of the cave before scooping her into his arms. Carrying her bridal style, the freelancer would then activate one of his favorite techniques, Wind Manipulator |
[/b]. Wind would suddenly surround the two, audible given the lack of noise in the canyon and even a bit refreshing considering the heat. ”If we can't climb then why not fly?” he started, grinning widely as he began to gather wind underneath his feet, ”This might be difficult with the extra weight but hey what's the worst that can happen?” he would add and before he gave her much of a chance to response, suddenly take off! Indeed, two powerful gusts of wind would shoot out from under his feet, lifting the two up high into the air as the freelancer let out a small laugh. It was hard not to, it was pretty fun flying in general with the use of this technique and well having a lovely lady along for the ride was a plus. The two would seem to stop in the air as the two initial gusts of wind made them clear the canyon and now be hovering above the jungle where they saw each other. He could see the clearing where they had fought and also noticed that a sizable portion of the jungle had been burned, a mischievous grin curving against his lips at the sight. ”Hehe you know if you could do what you did to the forest to your opponents you might be a rather scary foe to face,” he teased, his grin growing only wider, ”Joking aside how are you liking the view? I hope you're enjoying it cause boarding the Aircraft Maximilian on first class is rather expensive... although I suppose I can give you a discount being the first passenger,” he added, hoping to make light of the situation. Whether he got a laugh out of her or not, the freelancer would smile regardless as the wind blew past them and he held onto her legs tightly. ”Just make sure to not slip out, we haven't prepared any parachutes on the Aircraft Maximilian quite yet,” he would note before using more gusts of wind to propel them forward and toward his ship... although he did purposely take the long way back. X---Sometime Later---X The two would finally arrive at their destination, the pair hovering above his Gummi Ship as they slowly began to descend toward it. ”Open cockpit,” he would state in a clear tone, his voice being recognized by the voice recognition software he installed. The cockpit would then open but as it did so Felix now realized one other flaw in his plan to bring Claire back with him... he only had one seat in his ship. Laughing nervously as a sheepish grin curved itself against his lips, the freelancer would look down to the woman in his arms before parting his lips to speak. ”Hehe I hope you don't mind sharing a seat do you?” he started, a red tint staining his cheeks as he was embarrassed at his lack of foresight, ”I kind of forgot my ship only seats one at the moment,” he would explain and as he did so instantly realize how that might be taken badly. ”Err not I planned this or anything, umm but not that I wouldn't want to, ah but not that was my intent, but not that it wouldn't be nice...” and he would continue as they got ever closer to the cockpit, manipulating the wind to slow their descent.
