Indeed, with his shirt torn to pieces from the numerous attacks he had taken that battle, he decided to take it off completely as it wasn’t doing much good as is. Not only was his body covered in bruises (and now that he thought about it seemed like a cracked rib or two), but a deep wound was on his right shoulder courtesy of Genesis’ blade. It was still bleeding rather profusely, making him feel light-headed, woozy, and far more exhausted than he could ever remember being in his entire life. Despite the pain that racked his body though there was something that stood out about the freelancer as he walked out, his right fist was raised high in the air. His face was also rather emotive, mustering the widest grin he had ever sported on his face regardless of his injures. The reason being that he had done what he set out to do, to defeat Genesis and get a sort of pay back for his defeat to him in the previous tournament, a task that had seemed damn near impossible when the fight began. Although what is it that I said? |
he mused thinking back to the beginning of the tournament when he had waited along with the other contestants for their prelim match to begin, I never lose to the same person twice I believe it was and I have yet to be proven wrong it seems, he added mentally as he walked into the waiting room once more. Sighing lightly, the crimson haired combatant made his way to the cauldron that contained the healing waters meant to rejuvenate him, grimacing as he looked at it. He despised the taste of the healing waters that Hades had provided for the contestants and while it was true that the best medicine oft tasted the worst, it didn’t make him feel any better about it. Like a spoiled child who wouldn’t eat his peas, Felix began to ponder ignoring the healing waters and attempt to heal himself naturally using his Water Manipulator technique. It would leave him at a disadvantage in the next fight sure but at the very least he wouldn’t have the nasty aftertaste that the waters left behind in his mouth the whole match. Before he could think on the matter much longer, the wound on his shoulder began to throb painfully, causing him to fall to one knee as he gritted his teeth tightly. Not only that wound, but the rest of his body was screaming in agony as the adrenaline that had been pumping just moments ago faded away. ”Ugh it seems like fate just wants me to drink this damn water,” he complained as the pain he was currently in wasn’t allowing him to maintain enough focus to activate his own healing ability. Sighing in defeat, he would grip the edge of the cauldron and pull himself up, taking a gulp of the water and splashing some all over his body. It tasted dreadful but the effect was instant as the giant sword wound mended itself and the bruises on his body faded away without a trace. The cracked ribs also felt like they were being repaired and if one were to look at Felix now they wouldn’t even know he was in a fight. Well at least if they didn’t notice the scar that Genesis’ blade left behind, the healing waters mending the wound but not doing anything about the scars such wounds could bring. It wasn’t like he minded though, scars to him were a memory device of sorts, helping him recollect on past battles if he ever took a moment to look at them. Yes, numerous scars were present on his upper-body and since he was waiting on being called to the next fight anyway he began to reminisce on some of them. There was the battle on Destiny Islands, the previous tournament, the fight with Stroud, the job to defeat a Behemoth, and many others. He couldn’t help but smile at it all as he sat on the bench provided, leaning his back into the wall and crossing his arms as he let out a nostalgic sigh with a small “heh” accompanying it. ”Just another reminder of a hard fought battle ne?” he asked himself as he closed his eyes to nap for a moment as the healing waters didn’t do much to restore his stamina. Or at least that had been the plan until the sound of footsteps approaching caused his ears to perk up as he opened his left eye and looked in the direction of the sound. ”Jeez I hope the next fight isn’t starting already, I wanted a five minute power nap at least,” he whined as a smirk curved against his lips as he snickered at another possibility, ”Hehe or maybe one of my fans is coming out to congratulate me now,” [/style] [STYLE=font-family: trebuchet ms; font-size: 9px; color: #606060; opacity: 0.9; text-align: right;]MADE BY AYU OF BACK TO NEVERLAND ( x)[/style]

Even though Naminé lost her fight against Sora she wasn’t upset about. She had passed her message for Sora to give to the girl with wings. If he made it through the rounds there was a good chance that he might be against her and he could pass the message along. And even if he didn’t; he might still have a better chance of getting the message to her then Naminé did.
Naminé decide to stick around and watch the tournament as it went on to cheer on the people she had come to know. She picked a set in the nose bleed section because from being in the tournament she knew that sitting in the front row wasn’t always a good thing. She sat in her seat and kicked her legs as she waited for each match to start up. It was strange that the battles took place in the dark. Naminé couldn’t see anything and was resorted to using her heart reading abilities to see how the fight was going. Vanitas and Hayden where up next in the games. She never heard of either of them before but stays to sense the match non-the-less. She felt a strange and dark pull towards this Vanitas person. Almost like she had met him before but couldn’t recall where.
After that it was Felix and Genesis. Naminé had meet Felix once already and Genesis twice. She had wondered how this was going to end. Was Genesis going to win again or would Felix be able to take the title way from the man in crimson? The memory witch drifted off into the memories of her own battle with Genesis…She was slightly hoping to get a chance at him again but it look like it was in the cards this time, oh well. She cheered for both of them since she couldn’t pick a side.
Sora and Whatever was up now and Naminé was starting to get a little hungry. But she stayed to cheer on Sora. It was a hard battle for her to keep up with. Sora had a heart but Whatever didn’t so she could only sense one side of the battle through the darkness. It definitely kept her at the edge of her set to only see the fight through Sora’s eyes.
The last match was just about to start. Artemis was called to the field and Naminé’s face light up. There she was. She was so close and yet so far. However her opponent didn’t appear and the battle went to Artemis by default. This was to perfect. If the result were that Sora got to go on to then there was a higher chance that they would be against each other next and Sora could pass the message. But alas that wasn’t in the cards either. Sora lost to Whatever. Naminé had no doubt in her mind that Sora would still find away to get the message to Artemis. But she really wanted to meet with her again. So after hearing the rest of the results and being blown away that Felix beat Genesis, she decide to venture out and see if she could find the Angel herself.
Naminé was still very hungry as she walked around looking at all the other events but she had to find Artemis before the next match started. This was a shame because one of the booths was holding a drawing contest. Draw the Lord of the Dead was the contest and the winner would win a free snack at the snack bar. “Well isn’t that ironic.” The memory witch thought a little annoyed due to her hunger. She pasted up the booth and head for the Waiting Room. At first she didn’t think she would be allowed in because she was no longer a competitor. She figure if she wasn’t allowed in then she would go around the corner and turn herself in to Artemis so that she would be allowed in. Maybe the people guarding the tent wouldn’t know any better. However lucky for her it didn’t come to that. Turns out Fans were allowed in to meet and congratulate the competitors at this time.
Naminé entered the Tent but didn’t see Artemis anywhere. “I wonder if she is hiding out somewhere so she isn’t bothered.” She thought to herself. “Well guess it isn’t a total lost. If I don’t meet up with her then I still have Sora.” She was about to turn and leave when she heard a familiar voice to far away. She headed in that direction and when she turned the corner she saw Felix. She giggled at him. “I don’t think that next match starts up for a while.” She said to him. “You know they have major cleaning up to do. Turns out people are more destructive when they can’t see.” Another giggle came from her. “Oh and Congratulations on your win. I know from experience that Genesis isn’t an easy one to beat.” She said smiling softly with the same air of innocents that she always seemed to have around her.

Indeed, it was that one transforming girl that he had met on Port Royal that had introduced herself by asking if he would watch the sunrise with her. It had been a rather unique introduction and had caught the freelancer off guard at the time but this time he was a little more prepared for what she might say. Well that was assuming she was going to flirt with him again but instead she simply informed of the destruction in the arena and congratulated him for winning. Grinning at the praise, he couldn’t help but stand up, put his fists on his hips, stick his chest out and turn his head to the side as if what he had accomplished was no big deal.
”Hmph, I’m a man that always rises to the occasion! You’ll find no matter who the opponent is or what the situation I won’t lose,” he started, slipping his hands into his pockets as he leaned over towards Namine, a smirk curving on his face as his expression remained cocky as ever, ”Thanks though, and I’ll admit it wasn’t easy, with the arsenal of spells Genesis had at his disposal I had to do everything just to stay alive during the first half. He wasn’t pulling any stops and if it weren't for the armor I recently purchased I might not have been able to deal with his ranged assault without using my trump card. It’s certainly one of the woes of the path I’ve taken of being a super close range fighter, if you can keep me away from you it does tend to make things rather difficult,” he explained, not particularly worried about giving the girl information in regards of how to counter him in combat.
He didn’t plan on fighting her and he highly doubted she had such thoughts and even if she did, Felix was more than ready to fight at a disadvantage. Nearly every opponent he had faced to this day was one in which he was the underdog against, whether they were Mako-Infused junkies, deities with cosmic powers beyond his comprehension, or whatever else one could think of. Indeed, almost every fight he had been a part of was one where the odds were stacked against him and he had to overcome the adversary using everything he had. His brawn, his intellect, his martial prowess, his silver tongue, his ingenuity, his dirty fighting, his iron will or bet it all on a desperate final attack with his life on the line. It didn’t matter what his methods were, the only thing that concerned him was the result and if it was victory then he could live with whatever means were required to get there. If this girl ever happened to be an opponent then he would do whatever it took to win even if she did know how his weaknesses.
”Anyway so aside from congratulating me what you doing here Nammers?” he asked, deciding to refer to the girl with nicknames even if they weren’t more than acquaintances at this point, ”I doubt you came here just to see my wonderful body in all its glory due to my shirt being decimated in that previous fight. Well I suppose I can’t ignore that possibility entirely, you did hit on me the last time we met but now we’re just getting off track here. I mean really you need to stop staring at me like a piece of meat, I get shy too y’know?” he added in a joking tone, acting as if she was partly responsible for the derailing of the subject as he covered his chest in a rather feminine way and blushed. With the joking aside though, he would take a seat and grin widely as he winked at the girl, patting the bench next to him as a small snicker escaped his lips.
”Go ahead take a seat NamNam, as you said they probably won’t be calling me to the arena for a while with all the destruction caused by Genesis trying to murder me hehe,” he started, his tone betraying the seriousness of the statement he had just made as life-threatening experiences were nothing new to him. Whether she took a seat or not, the freelancer would cross his arms as he leaned back into the wall, glancing over to Namine, still the same signature grin on his face.
”Are you looking for somebody in the tournament by chance?” he started as his grin curved mischievously and he decided to tease her again, ”Or DID YOU REALLY just come to see how I looked with my shirt off? Not that I particularly mind but I usually like to take things slow and at a comfortable pace, I’m just not sure how to act around a girl so forward y’know?” he finished, snickering at the end of his ludicrous statement. He was certain that was not the case but it was always fun to tease people, specifically people of the opposite gender as their reactions were often cuter.
I’d really like to throw her off but thus far she seems to just laugh at everything I say it’s almost like she’s blissfully unaware of what I’m saying… or just very tolerant of my antics, |
he mused as he awaited for said reaction and perhaps the purpose of her visit aside from getting the chance to “stare” at his bare chest. Naminé tilted her head as Felix stuck his heroic poses. She leaned back a bit as the red head leaned in. Her face displaying nothing more than indifference to his cockiness. “Yes Genesis is a tough one. I have both faced off against and fought alongside him. His magic is impressive but if you take that away I can only wonder how the fight would go.” She said with an innocent smile. “I might have to try that if I ever end up against him again.” The Memory Witch paid no interest on the outside that Felix told her his weakness, but she did make note of it. Not to ever use against him but more to discover what kind of person he was. She was interested in what makes a person act the way they do. What drives there heart to do certain things.
When Felix spoke again she tilted her head to the other side. “Nammers?” Naminé thought to herself. “What is Nammers?” She figured he was referring to her but didn’t quite know of nicknames. No one has ever giving her a nickname like that before. She was use to either being called Naminé, Nobody, pest, Witch, or Memory Witch. She was trying to figure out if she liked this new name of hers and blink a few times.
“Hit on you?” Naminé found herself once again confused by how this man talked to her. “But I didn’t hit you? She racked her brain trying to figure out when she may have hit Felix. She had a look of worry on her face. “I am so sorry!” She panicked. “If I hit you I am really sorry! There was so much going on and thing were flying everywhere on that night! I wasn’t aiming for you!” Tears started to well up in her eyes because she was actually think that she may have hit and hurt the red headed companion. She had no idea that he thought she was flirting with him and that is what he meant by her hitting on him.
After her panic Naminé realized that Felix didn’t seem to be angry with her, in fact, he seemed to be just teasing her even more. The young girl cocked her head and blinked as her covered his chest and blushed. She was a bit wary in sitting down at first but she was starting to get what kind of person Felix was. He seemed to be a harmless and fun loving kind of guy if you were on his good side. He seemed to bit a rough around the edge version of Sora. He was a guy that wants to enjoy life to the fullest no matter how tough life gets. He was another one that lived life by following his heart, but he did it differently than most. The memory witch couldn’t figure out what exactly was different but it was something to look into and a personality to explore.
Naminé didn’t understand why she felt so shy sitting down next to him so she kept her blue eyes down on her blue sands and counted the stars that aligned the straps over and over again in her head. “I I don’t think Genesis would have killed you. I could be wrong but he seems that kind of person that would want to keep a person around because of their usefulness. He would have more to gain by keeping someone like you around and near him and nothing to gain from your distraction.” She quickly become quite knowing that she really didn’t know anything about anyone and that she was probably boring the Freelancer. After all he managed to beat the Crimson Hero of Loveless. Anything she would have to say would be pointless at this point. She did however look up at him with a side glance and said with an innocent face. “You know you had a hand in the distraction of the area to…It wasn’t all Genesis.” She gave a weak smile.
Naminé was about to give an answer to Felix’s questions when the gears shifted to teasing her again. Her eyes widened and she quickly looked back down at her scandals. Hearing the snickering the little Nobody pricked back up. She looked up right at him. “I just came to see you with your shirt off. I was curious to see what kind of physique should lift up Anchors and toss them effortlessly. Well I guess I am done here.” Naminé got up from her seat and started to walk away with her nose in the air. She got to the door way of the tent and started to giggle and turned back around to face the man. “Tehehehe I guess I am not that good at it as you are.” She couldn’t keep a straight face like that anymore. She thought it might have been fun and it was, even if she did fail at it on her first time.
Naminé returned to bench next to the Freelancer. “I was looking for one of the fighters here. She is another Keyblader that I had meet awhile back during the fight of Kingdom Hearts. Some people have forgotten that event.” She paused. “…so I am not even sure if she would even remember me but I still feel I have to try.” Naminé summoned her Keyblade in her one hand and kept the blade pointed to the ground. “There was a point in time when I didn’t even know I could use it. Even when my Other was able to summon the blade of her own…I didn’t know I could use it.” She sighed. “I just need someone to teach me how to use it. The only thing I seem to know how to do is swing at someone’s head and that isn’t going to help forever.” She become quiet and dismissed her blade still sitting in the same position as when she had it. “I don’t know why I am seeking her for this. I guess it is because I don’t want to bother Sora or Riku for it. And I have no idea where Roxas or Kairi are, nor would I ask them. I don’t know why but I admire the Keyblader with the black wings. Maybe it has something to do with her heart. This whole time and throughout my travels it seems that people refer to anyone who is dark as evil…But I have met two, no, three people who are dark but not evil…at least they don’t seem to be anyway. Riku, Genesis, and the Keyblader with Black wings, each dark but at the time of my meeting with them…not one of them seemed or were evil.“ She stopped again trying to think were she was going with this. “I want to see if she will teach me how to use it more. I, like so many others, have people I want to protect but these people are both from the dark side as well as the light. And for that I will have to learn to wield the blade for both sides….Not just one side. And I believe that she is one of the people that can help me without judging me.” She looked up at Felix. “Does that make sense?”
Naminé’s stomach growled yet again. She looked down at it rather surprised. She had completely forgotten that she was hungry. She looked back at Felix with a puppy dog like expression that was also hinting at an apology for the load noises her stomach had resumed before she had even entered the tent. She simply smiled and waited for what he would say to her strange morals. Here was a man she barely knew and yet she sat her and poured out her non-existing heart to him.

No, life was the longest thing you experienced so there was no reason to fill it up with boring talk that was irrelevant. It was much more interesting and entertaining to joke around and be a goofball, there was already far too many “straight” men in this world. Yes, Felix couldn’t even recall the last time he fought or met anyone similar to him that played the role of the “funny” man. Indeed, most guys were all serious and no fun, typically brooding over this or that and being all depressed and mopey for something incredibly trivial. It was why he tended to stick around and talk to women more often than not, the opposite sex seeming to know how to enjoy life more. Well there was also the fact that they were cuter and everything but hey that totally came second to personality right?
”Hehe no you didn’t hit me Nammers I meant flirting with me gosh!” he added in between breaths in response to her zealous apology. His tone much like usual was a mix of feigned seriousness but a hint of playfulness in it that anyone could catch even those who weren’t used to being teased so much. Whatever the case, the conversation would continue from there, Namine noting Genesis disposition, the freelancer agreeing with a curt nod. It was true, Genesis would make use of those he could and in fact had already rendered the use of Felix’s services a number of times. Whether he would continue doing so after that match was a mystery to Felix, but even if it meant losing a steady paycheck he didn’t regret it. No, Felix did his best to never do anything he would later regret and that applied doubly so when it came to fighting. If the man he was working for at any given time was incredibly strong than it was always worth getting the experience and challenging them instead. Yes, so long as he didn’t take a job prior to beating them up then he wasn’t tarnishing his record nor doing anything he would later regret. He was like a cat, always going with the flow and doing as he pleased unrestricted by the binds that kept most people holding back. He didn’t care if what he did was embarrassing, it was mean, or it was dishonest, if he wanted to do something than he would do it. Nothing would hold him back from doing what he pleased or getting what he wanted when he set his mind to it. And right now he wanted to continue teasing a cute blonde girl he had only recently met and nothing was going to stop him.
”Oh Nammers has jokes now eh?” he asked when she noted that Genesis wasn’t the only one responsible for the destruction of the arena, ”Or at least I hope that was a joke otherwise I don’t think my heart could take it,” he added, giving an overdramatic display of crocodile tears. It was quickly followed by a grin and another joke and this time it seemed like Namine would be the one to throw him off guard as she looked right at him rather closely. Leaning back a bit, he listened to her words intently; a sheepish grin curved against his lips as she spoke and then moved to leave. Getting halfway up to stop her at the entrance of the tent, he would reach his hand out to her as she turned around to face him and noted that she wasn’t as good at messing with people as him.
”Yeah totally not I wasn’t getting up to stop you or anything no sirrie!” he tried to cover as he sat back down; crossing his arms a slight tint covering his cheeks as he looked away. He wasn’t really that embarrassed although his pride wasn’t about to let him admit that he had been fooled by the blonde girl. Not that it mattered much though as she took a seat back next to him, a serious expression covering her face as she began to speak once more. Feeling the sudden tension in the air, Felix decided to listen to her closely feeling that while he didn’t know her that well it was his duty as the #1 Gentlemen of Radiant Gardens. He always had to listen to the woes of a damsel in distress and well at least for this one specifically he was feeling a bit of a connection. It was weird considering they didn’t each other very long but he enjoyed teasing her and she took it rather well so it was the least he could do in return. That being noted, he would listen to her story till the end, his own facial expression turning rather serious as he maintained a consistent level of eye contact with her. When she finally turned to him and asked if it all made sense, he raised his right hand and parted his lips to speak but before so much as the first words escaped his mouth, another hole spoke. Indeed, Namine’s stomach would growl loudly, the blonde looking down at her stomach seemingly a bit embarrassed at it before looking back at Felix, hinting at an apology with her expression. Felix on the other hand was already laughing, a hearty laugh that he didn’t often show in front of others as this girl seemed to consistently catch him off guard with her own silly antics. After a moment of laughter, the red-head would smile at her as he stood up, slipping his hands into his pockets before speaking.
”Well I do have an answer to all that although it seems like your stomach is asking for precedence over me assisting you with your current dilemma,” he started, leaning turning on the heel of his foot and leaning close to Namine before grinning and winking at her, ”That being said give me just a moment and I’ll get you something to munch on alright?” he explained and would walk out of the tent. Taking off into a sprint the speed of which was enhanced by his Mass Manipulator, the freelancer quickly ran past a little stand nearby that was offering some fruit for sale, paying for an apple and orange. Making his way back in less than a minute, the freelancer would snicker as he entered the tent and look over to Namine with his signature grin.
”Alright Nammers what do you prefer apples or oranges?” he would ask and once answered would throw her the fruit of her choosing. Whatever the case, he would then take a seat next to her once more (assuming she’s still sitting anyway) and work on his own piece of fruit as he parted his lips to speak.
”I believe I know the keybearer you speak of, her name is Artemis if I’m thinking of the same one as she was the only one present at that battle that I recall having dark wings,” he started, taking a bite of his fruit before continuing, ”If you want to meet up with her that would prove difficult as I’m aware that she travels a lot doing her keybearer thing whatever that is. Not only that but she’s rather anti-social I mean when I met her last she was all like…” he paused, putting on a stoic expression as he raised his arms up towards his face as if he was a cat ready to scratch, ”Myeh, my name is Artemis and I can’t take a joke myeh,” he noted before lowering his arms and a small smirk curved against his lips as he broke eye contact, ”Although she seems to have a soft side underneath her rough exterior so who knows maybe you can find it and get her to teach you. And on your point of light and dark or rather good and evil I have to agree with you on that. It’s a shame but people are very judgmental these days and don’t often get the story behind a person’s actions before judging them. As far as I’m concerned there really is no such thing as good or evil, it’s all relative to the situation and is different shades of gray. People do what they do for different reasons; if someone steals to feed their family are they good or are they evil? If someone kills one to save a thousand are they good or are they evil? The list goes on and on of examples like this and its why I despise such labels like that, it’s like comparing apples to oranges,” he paused taking a hold of her for a moment. Putting them in front of her, he would give her a moment to look at them before continuing his little speech.
”They’re two inherently different things and thus it’s impossible to compare them, much like how I believe it’s impossible to say any one person is good or evil. We all do what we do for different reasons is my outlook on the subject although you’re free to take it or leave it as I’m known for being the #1 Freelancer of Radiant Gardens, not the #1 Philosopher,” he explained before throwing back her fruit to her. Leaning back into the wall, he would finish his fruit before placing a hand on Namine’s head, ruffling her hair a bit as he grinned and winked at her.
”With Philosophy 101 out of the way though to put it simply you’re in a bind and need a bit of assistance,” he started, raising up to pose, pointing to his chest with his thumb as his grin only grew wider, ”Well they don’t call me the #1 Freelancer of Radiant Gardens for nothing so what’ll it be Nammers? Want me to find Artemis for you and tell her you’ve been searching for her? I’ve got a 99.99% success rate so it’s a pretty safe bet that I’ll be able to help you find her so you can get your training on hehe,” he explained before crossing his arms across his chest and awaiting an answer.
Hmmm I probably should mention my fee though, |
he mused, Naw, I’m sure she doesn’t expect this to be free… right? [/style] [STYLE=font-family: trebuchet ms; font-size: 9px; color: #606060; opacity: 0.9; text-align: right;]MADE BY AYU OF BACK TO NEVERLAND ( x)[/style]

After it was explain to Naminé that she really didn’t hit Felix she was relieved. She tilted her head and blinked at his explanation of what he had meant by hitting on. “Flirting?” She questioned him. “What is flirting?” This was not a term she was used to. In fact she had never heard it before.
Naminé smiled a bit when that fact that she had jokes came up. Thought it what she said was true about both Felix and Genesis having a hand in the distraction of the arena as well as all the fighters. She could remember how Sora and she had nearly leveled the arena on their battle. It was at ground zero by the time they had finished but this was only natural when it came to fights. The young Nobody had never been in a confrontation that had ended cleanly.
The Memory Witches grin got bigger at Felix’s Crocodile tears and grin. She was starting to get the hang of when he was messing around and when he wasn’t. She giggled and playfully pushed him away. “Oh you just stop.” This lead to her trying to get back at him by saying something blunt and walking away. She was surprised to see that she had been successful. As she turned back around she could see that Felix had been reaching out for her to try to stop her. She smiled but decided not to say anything on it. There were no words that need to be said because both him and her knew that she had managed to trick the freelancer, and that was its own reward.
Naminé blushed slightly when her stomach growled ruined the time that she was about to get serious. Felix burst of laughter caused her to jump in her seat a bit and blink at him curiously. Her blushing only got deeper when it was discovered that he was laughing at her belly noises. She couldn’t help it that she was hungry after all. But it didn’t look like the red head was going to hold it against her. In fact he winked at her and then left the tent for a moment. Before the girl in white had time to think on what he was doing; he was back, and with food! “Orange first please.” She beamed at him.
She caught the orange and began to rip into its skin as the sweet smell and juices came out. She listened to what Felix had to say about her thoughts as she pulled the orange into sections and started to eat. When she heard the name Artemis her ears perked up. She looked like a little puppy that was trying to eat while it master was waving a toy in front of it. That was definitely the Keyblader she was talking about…thought she wouldn’t have described her the way the Felix did. Sure Artemis may be serious but she didn’t think she lacked a sense of humor. It seemed that there was a lot going on in the Angel’s life that was no laughing matter. Everyone seemed to deal with things differently and being focused on what you were doing seemed to be one of them. There were a lot of lived at stake and Keybladers weather dark or light were put in charge of those lives. This was one of the things that Naminé was unsure of on how to do and need guidance in. She need someone to give her a taste of both sides without harmer her.
It was kind of depressing to hear that it would be hard to get a hold of Artemis. She had been trying to find her ever since she had met her but she just couldn’t get a hold of her. Naminé lowered her head and looked at her orange. She had to find some way…even if Artemis wouldn’t teach her…she just had to try. She would have rather found her and her telling the memory witch to get lost rather than just giving up because she was hard to track down.
Naminé listened to Felix concept on good and evil. It wasn’t too far off from hers. She waiting to speak and took a bite of her orange while he came to the end of his speech. She closed her eyes as her mouth opened and the fruit drew nearer. A part of her couldn’t wait to taste the juiciness of it. She was a lot hungrier then she realized. She went to take a bite but to her surprise her mouth closed around air and her teeth clattered together. Her eyes popped open and looked at her hand in confusion. She had an orange slice there a moment ago…and now it was gone. She turned her head to Felix as she was say something about comparing apples and oranges. And there was her orange slice next to his apple in the freelancer’s hand. She gave him this weird look. It was a cross between listening and something that say “Hey I was eating that?” with a puppy dog face.
After her orange was given back to her she went to take a bite yet again but then stopped and looked at it. “Comparing apples and oranges, huh?” She said out loud in deep thought. “But they can be compared. They are both round, they both have skin, they are both juicy, they both grow on trees and when you open them up…” Naminé held up her slice of orange to Felix’s apple again and pointed to the cores of both fruit. “They both have seeds. So how is it that people say they can’t be compared? Maybe they should look beyond appearances and focus on what they truly are.”
Naminé paused finally eating the slice she had been trying to for a while now. “I do believe in good and evil, and all the…” She was about to say shades of gray but then picked a different choice of words instead. “…all the different colors in between.” She smiled. “My issues aren’t with good and evil but with light and dark. I believe that light and dark are different from good and evil. I have friends who are dark but not evil, and I have friends who are light but aren’t good…..but something that all of them have in common is that they are…well...they all have skin, they all have an inner fruit, and they all have….” She plucked a seed from one of her slices. “….Seeds. The seeds are their hearts. Notice how in the apple the seeds are at the core of the fruit, and in the orange the seeds can be found everywhere in the fruit.” Naminé’s slice of orange has a seed in the middle of the slice instead of at where the core should be. “The fruits keep their seeds in different places. So I wonder if the same could be said for dark and light. I just wonder why these to fruits can’t see that they tasted better together.” She summoned her Keyblade and cut a slice of Felix’s apple and placed it in a bowl that was nearby, and then she placed the slices of her orange in the same bowl and made a fruit salad out of it placing it before Felix. “I don’t want to be a Keyblader of Light or Dark. And the path in between belongs to Riku. I just want find the path I am looking for and I can’t do that without experience other paths. There may not even be a path for me since I am a Nobody and was never suppose to…..well you get the rest.” Naminé took a bit of the fruit salad. “What kind of fruit am I and will a taste good along with all the others in the bowl?” Naminé had managed to compare apples to oranges and dark and light to apples and oranges, but she still remained confused to what she truly was, what part she played in this story, and what would become of her once the last page was read and the cover was closed.
Naminé got lost in thought when Felix snapped her back when he got up to pose. She blinked her thoughts away and giggled at the freelancer as he put his proposition on the table. “You will really tell her from me?” Her eyes got wide. “That would be great. I had one friend already on it but he sadly didn’t make it on to see her. I know that he will still give her the message when and if he sees her again, but I guess it couldn’t hurt if I had another person on the job to. The more people that know…the more chance she had of getting the message!” Naminé jumped up facing Felix with a smile on her face and her hand clapped together. “Thanks you.”
Naminé’s moment of joy fell a bit as she realized that Felix was a Freelancer. “How much do you want? I don’t have much munny and I know I am a bit naive at times, but I am not so much to think this will be free.” She smiled a bit. She could read Felix’s heart and knew what he was thinking at the time. “Everyone wants something and I guess that is to be expected when you are a traveler. So what is your price good sir? You name it and I will see if I can afford it.”

It was the freelancer that had just went off on a rant in regards to the whole “Good VS Evil” thing, stating that he wasn’t a fan of either label. As he had noted, it really came down to different shades of gray for him as everyone had their own reasons for doing what they did whether others approved. Just because someone was aligned with the “Darkness” didn’t mean they were “evil” and conversely those aligned with “Light” weren’t necessarily “good”. Too many people took those labels for fact and didn’t attempt to understand people; they oft didn’t allow themselves to form an unbiased opinion about said person. Because that’s what labels such as good and evil were, they were opinions not fact and depending on your outlook whether a person was good or evil could vary drastically. That’s why the freelancer never used those words himself when referring to people… he might call someone an ass or a prick, or he might call them swell or kind but never good or evil.
Regardless, it was soon Nammer’s time to rant back, the freelancer listening intently although a bit disheartened at how the little blonde seemed to misinterpret what he meant. Indeed, when he noted that apples and oranges weren’t comparable, he meant more so one couldn’t argue one was better than the other as a fact and not opinion. In hindsight, perhaps he should have been a bit more specific with that but none the less he allowed Namkins to have her time to shine and spiel. It was only fair after all; she had to hear him drone on about philosophical matters so it would be rude to not allow her to do the same ne? Regardless she would continue her tangent comparing ones heart to the seeds of the fruit and how they were all in different places, something that he wasn’t entirely sure where she was going with. Not that she explained it badly but as the freelancer had said himself, he wasn’t known for being too philosophical unless it pertained to money, then he could talk on for days. Whatever the case, she would soon pluck the apple out of his hand and slice it up into a bowl, a small frown curving against his lips.
Hey I was going to eat that, he complained mentally, having wanted to tease her but decided not to. After all, the little blonde vixen wasn’t quite finished yet as she happily ate part of the fruit salad she had made, explaining how she didn’t wish to be a keybearer of the light or dark. She didn’t want to be a keybearer that went in between either, she simply wanted her own path and that was a sentiment the red-head could certainly agree with every fiber of his being. It was how he lived his life, he didn’t allow his actions to be dictated by anyone but him, every choice he made was of his own accord. While that wasn’t too say that he didn’t listen to what other people said, he wasn’t the type to think that he knew everything, his decisions were ultimately based on his own feelings. Thus before he would make his offer to assist the rather perplexing vixen, the freelancer would part his lips to quickly add his opinion of her previous statements.
”That’s the way to do it after all,” he started, grinning widely as he let out a small “hmph”, ”Live your life the way you want to and forge your own path, don’t allow others to choose your path for you. Whether what path you might take is seen as right or wrong by others, if it’s the path you desire to walk then walk it all the way to the end and don’t half-ass it. I don’t have a full understanding of this Nobody mumbo jumbo but I do know people and I’m fairly certain you can make your own path to walk wherever it may take you,” he explained as a slight smirk curved against his lips, ”Just make sure that whatever path you take you don’t end up as a grapefruit those things taste nasty bleh,” he added, trying to lighten up the mood after their rather lengthy discussion on light and dark, good and evil, and everything in between.
Regardless, when the offer was made the red-head couldn’t help but smile at the rather ecstatic expression on the girl’s face in response to it. She had a cute smile if nothing else and as it would seem only had one other person helping her in this task to find Artemis, a task certainly not suited to one person. Well that was unless of course said person was the #1 Freelancer of Radiant Gardens, he could make anything happen if he tried and he would certainly track Artemis down and deliver Namine’s message to her. Yet the issue of payment soon came up, NamNams face losing a bit of its luster as she seemed to consider what Felix would ask for in return for his excellent services. She informed him of her lack of funds, something that the red-head had already assumed and would thus prove troublesome. Indeed, even if the freelancer were to give the Naminator a discount, for a job like this he would normally charge quite a bit as he would have to do a lot of legwork. Thus either some form of layaway would have to be considered or perhaps an alternative form of payment, perhaps some sort of treasure or something similar. Putting a hand to his chin in thought, he mused on the subject for a moment before a thought came to mind, a mischievous grin curving against his lips.
”Hmm well if you don’t got money I suppose you could always offer those lips in exchange for my impressive services,” he started, his tone confident as ever not feeling any sort of embarrassment like most might, ”You are a rather beautiful woman sure enough and I won’t lie and say I don’t find you attractive, I might go as far as to say you’re the cutest keybearer I’ve ever seen. Thus I think it’s a fair trade to receive the kiss of a divine beauty such as yourself in exchange for me finding good ole Artemis ne?” he explained, and while his tone was rather confident it was anything but serious. Not that he didn’t find Namskies cute and all, but he knew making such an embarrassing request as her form of payment would most likely be decline right away. In fact, she’d probably turn tomato red a sight the freelancer would love to see as teasing Namine was quickly becoming one of his favorite hobbies considering how entertaining her reactions were.
Hehe well perhaps I should offer a more serious form of alternative payment, |
he mused a small chuckle escaping his lips, There’s no way she’ll say yes to something so ridiculous although it is fun to tease her if nothing else hehe, he finished mentally although whether Namine took him up on the offer or not well… we’ll just have to wait and see. Naminé was glad to hear that Felix agreed with her. She should take her own path and not let anyone stand on her way. She wanted to keep living and not have to ever fade back into her other half. She wanted to believe that she had a heart somewhere and she was going to find it. She wanted to protect all her friends from all sides of the coin. She was going to except both dark and light and know that neither of them are stronger nor weaker than the other. Naminé was more determined than ever. She was about to take other bit of her fruit salad when she all of the sudden felt like she was being watched. It was an eerie feeling. It wasn’t the feeling of being scared. No she wasn’t afraid but something was there. She looked up at Felix about to express this feeling as he was talking but a shadow was being casted behind the red head. The shadow looked like it was being fasted from the light in the tents entrance as if someone was standing there. Naminé’s eyes widen a bit, and her head turned towards the doorway to see how was standing there. But…..no one was standing there at all. She turned back towards Felix once again and saw that the shadow was gone from behind him. She was about to ask him if someone came in or out of the tent just now but he said something that caught her off guard about being a grapefruit and she ended up giggle. She tried to hold it in but she couldn’t and ended up laughing. Soon she would forget all about the shadow that was on the all. Naminé pushed the salad towards Felix since he didn’t seem to be eating any. She had made it for both of them since she used her orange and his apple. She wasn’t going to be greedy and not offer any to him when he contributed half of the ingredients. “You will need your strength for the upcoming fight. No matter who you face I am sure this is where it will get tough.” She pushed the fruit bowl away from her and next to the red head. Naminé now looking at Felix and standing up waited to find out how much it was going to cost to hire the freelancer to deliver a message. She really didn’t have much Munny. “Oh one more thing, in case for some reason you don’t end up against Ms. Artemis then don’t worry too much on it. I don’t want to burden you with such things when you probably have more people to do business with that can pay you more.” She smiled. "Just pass the message if you happen to come across her and remember.”Naminé felt strange standing there watching Felix think of a payment. She must have looked like a puppy watching its master hoping it will be played with. She turned her back against him, placed her hands behind her back, and rocked back and forth on her heels. With her back turned she didn’t see the grin on the young man’s face. Naminé turned back around when Felix started to speak again. It seemed as if he found an alternative method of payment. “My lips?” She tilted her head. Was that similar to Ariel giving up her voice in payment? The Nobody blushed at being called cute but she looked rather dumbfounded at what Felix was trying to ask her. When he finally said kiss she understood what he meant. “S-s-so a kiss is what you are asking for?" Naminé said “Well……..” She paused for a moment and thought about. “A-alright." She smiled. Naminé walked up to the freelancer still blushing slightly. She had to stand on her tip toes since she was taller than her and she couldn’t reach is face if standing normal. She leaned in closer to him with her lips puckered out a bit. Then she kissed the young man on the cheek. She pulled away smiling. She had given the Vivi the little mage a kiss on the check before so it wasn’t that embarrassing nor did she see anything wrong with it. Bing Naïve was bliss. “There you go” Naminé giggled still blushing a bit.
(OOC: XD Sorry I just had to Oh and don’t worry about that shadow thing. I wanted to start introducing my summon Blank Page. Naminé doesn’t know about him yet and he is just following her around. You don’t have to even seen him if you don’t want to. He isn’t the kind of summon that was just given to her )

Indeed, he had figured if anything she’d probably slap him for asking for something like that or simply turn tomato red before shaking her head furiously. Yet instead she caught him off guard and accepted that silly offer and quickly walked toward him, the freelancer being a little embarrassed actually. It wasn’t that he was shy or anything but he had been certain things wouldn’t have developed this way and yet they most certainly had. Whatever the case, with her standing on the tips of her toes, Felix could see that she was having trouble reaching his face, a rather humorous sight. Indeed, he let a chuckle escape his lips before leaning forward a bit to help her and plant his own li-… wait… why was his cheek wet? Pulling back for a moment he put one hand to his cheek, taking a moment to realize what happened and once he had figured it out he couldn’t help but grin. The girl had pulled a fast one on him, he had meant a kiss on the lips but hadn’t explicitly stated as such. ”Jeez Nammers you really know how to short-change a guy don’t ya?” he started, his grin growing wider before he let out another chuckle, ”Hehe well I suppose I got no one else to blame but myself for not specifying where I wanted those lips. At any rate that covers the issue of payment so you can rest assured that I’ll work hard to get the job done regardless of difficulty. The #1 Freelancer of Radiant Gardens, Felix Maximilian, is on the job and I won’t dare let pretty Namkins down!” he announced confidently, posing as he pointed his right index finger at nothing in particular. Cracking his knuckles, he began to loosen his body up a bit as he was rather certain the next match would be starting soon and he didn’t wish to lose due to something like a cramp. Indeed, if he lost in such an embarrassing way he’d never be able to live it down especially if the Naminator decided to watch. No, if she decided to watch he would show her and everyone else in the stands that he was no one to be trifled with. ”In the event that I don’t get to pass the message for whatever reason though,” he started, a mischievous grin curving against his lips. He would lean over to Namine, grabbing her chin in between his thumb and index finger, tilting her head up as his grin curved into a confident smirk. As he did so, he would lean forward, his eyes narrowing slightly as their lips were separated by only a scant few inches. At this proximity they could certainly feel each other’s breath but despite that the freelancer didn’t miss a beat and remained confident in what he was doing. ”I’ll be sure to give you a full refund and then some; it would only be fair after all my bravado wouldn’t it?” he asked before releasing her chin and taking a step back. It was another joke much like the earlier statement but the freelancer was ever curious as to how the little blonde vixen would react. He couldn’t be sure but he had the feeling that she wasn’t flirted with too often, in fact all things considered that seemed highly likely. Assuming she was friends with Sora and the rest of those warriors that fought for the Light, it was likely they were all a bunch of mopey and broody emos. That was oft the case with those types and they also seemed to lack the manners of a gentleman like the red-headed freelancer. They wouldn’t compliment a girl, they wouldn’t flirt with her, and they certainly wouldn’t make a move like he would to entertain a foxy lady. Then again I certainly don’t mind that the majority of them seem to have a lack of any semblance of a libido, |
he mused, grabbing the fruit salad without thinking and beginning to chow down on it, The less competition the better, there’s been far too many hotties in my life as of late so I’d rather not have to beat off the hounds with a stick. Well maybe that’s not entirely true, if any of them were at least a little strong they might be fun to fight and completely crush, he finished mentally, a grin curving against his lips as he swallowed down an apple slice. And as he had swallowed it down a little imp came in the tent informing Felix of his next fight, a small nod being returned as he looked back to Namine. ”Well it seems that’s my cue; don’t get too lonely without me k?” he teased, his signature grin still plastered on his face, ”Come watch if you like, I’ll be sure to give one hell of a show,” he would finish as he made his way out of the tent although going slowly in case the blonde wished to say anything more. (OOC: I hope you enjoyed our thread =^_^= Until we meet again.)
“Short change?” Naminé tilted her head with a confused looked. “Was that not what you asked for…Did I do something wrong?” She didn’t understand and the smile across Felix’s face and then the chuckle confused her even more. But it seemed that she did something right since he said that the payment was covered.
When Felix pointed Naminé found herself trying to find what he was pointing at. She thought that there was something behind her and looked over her shoulder. The eerie image of the shadow that cast itself on the wall of the tent a while back flashed through her mind and sent a chill up her spine. It took her amount to realize that Felix wasn’t pointing at anything and just posing in all his self inflected glory. She turned her attention back to the red headed man and smiled. She jumped slightly in happiness and clapped hands as the freelancer made his promise. “Thank you.” The memory witch giggled. Now she had more of a chance of getting where she was going with the enlisted help of another person.
Naminé’s eyes closed as she smiled more. In that moment she felt Felix’s fingers on her chin her eyes popped open and she was staring into his narrow blue ones. She could feel his warm breath on her face though she knew he couldn’t feel hers...due to the fact that she was holding it. The shock of having him so close to her made her forget to exhale. As she spoke her eyes got wider and her face turned red. “Gaah! Why is he so close? And what...what is he talking about?” These thought raced through her mind. “Why…what is the fast pulsing through my body?”
Naminé was on the verge of freaking out. Felix was way to close. Thump thump thump was all that was going inside the memory witch as she tried to figure out what was going on and make sense out of what was being said. She began to get hot and it made her face grow brighter. She wished the thumping sound would stop so she could think. It was making her head hurt and she was getting dizzy.
Naminé’s eyes would gloss over and the image of Felix would fade in front of her. Blurry images would pass before her of two people fighting. Red was the color of everything. Then the two people were talking. As the one with longer hair seemed to look over at Naminé; a jolt of an uncomfortable familiarity shot through her. She knew that darkness. Echoes of screaming people, carnival music, wicked laughter, tears, and gun fire rang through her ears. But the image before didn’t match the sounds her was hearing. A sharp pain pierced Naminé’s back. It felt like something was cutting into it. She would reach back but nothing was there. The entire experience that was going through her head made the thumping inside of the memory witch stop. The images faded away completely and Felix was back in her sight with a smirk.
Her eyes narrowed in reaction and she jerked herself away but at the same time Felix was letting go. Naminé took a few steps back from him as the dark glare continued across her features. In her mind she had no idea why she was doing what she was doing just now. Felix was kind to her but something in the vision set her off. She watched as the freelancer grabbed the fruit salad and ate it. Something in the back of her mind wanted her to summon her Keyblade and lash out on him. “But why? He didn’t do anything wrong?” Her own voice said in her head. “You are being ridiculous! Snap out of it! He is going to help you!” The argument inside her continued.
The Imp’s voice snapped Naminé out her glare and inside battle. She looked around Confused for a moment because she forgot where she was. Everything in the Tent seemed brighter than just a moment ago. The Nobody blinked a few times to get her bearings. She placed a fake smile on her face for a brief moment at Felix teased her. She still felt out of breath like she had run a long distance. Very light head. Once time caught up with her she realized it was time for the next match.
Naminé ran pasted Felix and paused at the tent door. He was at her back and she put her head down. “Good luck out there.” She said. “I’ll….I’ll be watching and cheering you on. And thank you again for your assistance.” She pulled her head up and looked over her shoulder back at the man. “Just be careful….Okay?” She said in a hushed tone. It was almost like she wasn’t refereeing to the upcoming matches at all. More like there was something else she was trying to tell him but since she didn’t even know, all she could manages to say was to be careful.
With that the memory witch ran out of the tent and back to the bleachers.
Naminé has left the thread.
