Okay, so I need a new plot for Noctis, now he's become aware of the Heartless and while Versus is in limbo. Now that news of Lightning Returns: FFXIII aka FFXIII-3 has come out, I thought of a plot that can work for him and anyone else that might like to join in a FFXIII plot.
For Noctis and when this is taking place in relation to the events off Fabula Novus Crystalis, this plot timeline is going to take place as if Versus is already finished, since I don't think many people would want to do a Versus world-visit. And this plot would also take place not only after FFXIII-2 but Lightning Returns/FFXIII-3, with the assumption Lightning has saved the world from ending, for the sake of the world being there for roleplay purposes instead of an assumed bad/sucky ending with no world there because it has ended.
Noctis' kingdom has been plunged into the chaos that it's become lifeless, and instead of being hundreds of years in the future the continent of Novus Partus and it's central city, Luxerion, has appeared as the four-island floating continent adjacent to Noctis' Kingdom, Tenebrae, and the new Cocoon on Pulse. Because it's floating in a blue lagoon surrounded by a new sea of Chaos, this new world is the closest entry point to Vahalla, where all the Chaos is coming from.
That's the timeline and the setting of the plot, but as for the plot itself, what's even bigger and needs more than one hero than the lives of loved ones and people like FFXIII, or saving the world of Pulse in addition like FFXIII-2/3? The worlds and even the realms themselves, as Chaos will grow at a rapid rate outwards from Pulse, threatening to consume everything. It can't infect or change the worlds like it can in Pulse with following the guidelines with the site's Q & A, so instead the Chaos will manifest itself in the shapes of people like Yeul, or creatures like Chaos Bahamut, into Chaos versions of humans and of course the monsters from Pulse. It'll be up to willing people to go to each world and purge the intruding Chaos there, to eventually drive the Chaos back to where it originated from in Vahalla, before a final showdown with it's true manifestation before sealing it for good there.
There's also an angle any villains can explore with this as well, and like Kingdom Hearts or being granted a wish by a genie in Agrabah, the villains could race to be the sole commander of Etro's Throne, as whoever takes the seat of power upon it can control the Chaos to use it to grant any wish or power they desire, the price being once a wish is granted the world of Pulse will come to an end and all worlds in surrounding realms will be plunged into Chaos depending on the wish, so it may be something to drive towards that may or not happen depending on if the Hidden Gate can be opened and when for the final battle.
As a side idea, Noctis can see the light coming from the Hidden Gate and receives the weapons of the deceased that depart through it, because Etro chose him and Stella to be the ones to guide and rules over the souls of the deceased, which is why she chose the rulers of two kingdoms. Stella can determine her role if someone applies for her, but Noctis becomes a Lord of the Underworld much like Hades, and while Lightning is meant to protect the world, Vahalla and Etro's Shrine, he is also meant to protect it (much like a Mount Olympus, but with a Norse theme going) in order to do his job guiding the dead to Vahalla and also as a redeemer to return Chaos there to contain and extinguish it once at for all.
So, is anyone interested?
