The Void…an unpredictable beast that loved to see blood more so than anything else. A monster and curse inserted into a the body of a boy who did not wish any harm upon anyone, making him a killer when he lost control. The Void….feared…misunderstood. It wasn’t always like this. No. A long time ago it was a man, but through obsessive love the man became the beast and the crystal in the boy, but through love it was also able to walk once more in the light and shadows. Through love it was able to perform its art once more.
It happened years ago when the Queen of the Kingdom of Crystals saw and fell in love with a street artist that could make beautiful things out of paints, clays, words, and more. Impressed by his work, the Queen hired the artist to work at her castle, so he did. He made her wonderful rooms and pieces of arts and at first his life was happy; however, while the artist was loyal to the queen and had eyes for no one, but her the queen was paranoid that someone else would take him away, so through sweet words and tricks she persuaded him to go through one of the crystal experiments inserting the rare Crystal of Balance within him so that she could bind him to her forever. The experiment was a success and the artist’s body did indeed mesh well with the crystal…or so it seemed. It gave him light and dark powers that he used to create more art for the Queen. The Queen thought she was triumphant; however, after a week the artist began to act very strange.
His art became darker and his tendencies more violent. When he killed a person and called it art, the artist was locked away and the queen went to her scientists to demand why this perfect plan had gone wrong. In sadness and horror, the scientist revealed the truth to the Queen. The Crystal of Balance required one with a perfectly balanced Heart to wield it, but since the Queen did not know her artist’s Heart she did not realize that like all human a shred of darkness existed in the light within him. It was this darkness that made the darker pieces in an artist life and helped channel emotions into the medium they worked with. The crystal found the unbalance in his Heart and tried to fix it; however, the process took its toll on the artist’s mind and began to unravel him from the inside out.
The scientists told her to destroy the artist before the madness got too bad, but she loved him too much and refuse to do so. Instead, she took him from the prisons and placed him in a hidden room within her castle, where she let him and his arts go mad. As time went on and the artist’s demands of art materials went from paints and canvas to animals and humans, the Queen gave him whatever he wanted, feeding the dark nature that leaked out of the man. As the dark tendencies grew, the more unstable the man became until finally the crystal within the man shattered and destroyed his body while trapping his Heart within itself.
The crystal Heart fell to the ground trapping the unstable Heart of the artist and when it hit the ground, the last lingering pieces of chaos and calm shattered off and were said to be lost to the world, but the artist’s Heart remained.
When the Queen came for her daily visit, she found the crystal Heart of her love and in a desperate attempt to both conquer the world and bring her lover back, she created the Crystal Warrior Program looking for a suitable host. She went through many warriors until she found the gentle Deshitana. Being reminded of what her love once was, Deshi became her favorite champion and while she did want him to win battles for her, she also wanted to him to become the vessel for her love, so she placed the Heart within his body and let the insanity combine with the calmness of the boy’s Heart. She thought by doing this the artist would come back and be balanced by the boy’s Light. Once more they would be together. She took precautions and made the bracelet that held the secret poison that would stop the boy and the creature should this go wrong. She would have her champion and her love; however when the artist was released it played its role well in helping her conquer her challengers, but over time it’s bloodlust shifted from the people in the arena to everything around it. It wanted all to become a beautiful twisted screaming art piece and so its murderous eyes turned to the innocent and attacked.
As it went through innocent lives, the Queen’s horror increased as its eyes turned to her. It saw her as a beautiful medium to work with and with tweaking he could make her into a masterpiece. The Queen tried to reason with the creature, make the Heart remember who she was and the love they once had; however, the Heart had forgotten her and left only the beast for her to contend with. Perhaps the beast would’ve killed her, but that bracelet she made came to save the day injecting the beast and the boy with a poison that made it sick to its stomach and burned. The creature killed more in anger for this before it had to flee to recover.
Since that time, it had remained hidden within the boy clinging to his Heart like a shadow does to the bottoms of your feet as you walk through the sun. The boy tried to fight him, deny him his freedom and his ability to create art; however, at times the artist was released and able to taste blood once more. Usually it was during battle this happened so the fun only lasted for that moment, but on occasion, he could be free outside of a battle like he was when he met that little girl Olette that had been all so tempting to kill.
The only thing that had saved her was the fact that brat’s will power that stopped the muse from flowing and stopped him from working, but not today. Today, he was in control and the boy safely tucked away in a corner of his mind. He could work freely, but he did not want to paint the world with blood today. No, the Void wanted to mold something. Make what he found into a masterpiece, but the problem here was finding that perfect subject.
The Void’s grey eyes looked around the quiet forest he was in observing the familiar creatures of the Kingdom of Crystals known as Moogles. They moved about their tree top homes discussing business or collecting their mushrooms. For the most part, they left the Void alone too busy with their own thoughts and idea to be bothered by him. This suited the Void just fine. He wasn’t interested in turning Moogles into art. No, he was looking for something better, but here in the Moogle’s Village that might be hard, so he decided to climb down the large trees and onto the forest floor covered in the trees shadows. He closed his eyes as a warm breeze blew by enjoying the light kiss on his skin.
It had been too long since he had this pleasure to be among the living without wanting to destroy them all. He had always been forced to come out when that brat could no longer fight. He hated the kid for being so weak. Hated him for forcing him to make beautiful art out of the people he killed. Hated the blood and his want for chaos. It kept the Void on edge at all times making him unpredictable and unfortunately no matter how hard the creature tried to remember its manners and old self it could not, but at least here there was many things that could keep him from being to troublesome, keep him from seeking blood and creating art out of flesh. Here in the Moogle Woods, he had the giant mushrooms and other plants to create beautiful masterpieces out of if he looked hard enough and even searched deeper into the woods. Again, the need for a perfect subject rose up in him and he began to move about the woods' shaded floor in search of said subject, not really sure what he would find, but eager to find the prize for his muse to make beauty out of.

Crunch...
Crunch...
Crunch...
The sound continued as Rosa's feet continued to move in front of the other one. There was nothing else she could really do, other than try to relax and enjoy the greenery. The fragrance of fresh leaves in the air, the smell of nature.
The thought of having no idea where you were. The feeling of not trying to panic.
Obviously, Rosa thought of herself as lucky. Of all places to get lost, she happened to get lost here. It was a beautiful place, a lush forest filled with the beautiful sounds of strange creatures that she didn't know about.
Strange creatures, she thought. Oh dear. She really didn't want to know what kinds of strange creatures she'd meet. She didn't exactly fancy the idea of going toe to toe with a giant, three-headed monster. She was a White Mage. Not somebody suited for combat.
Crunch...
Crunch...
How did I get here? she wondered to herself. She didn't even remember anything recent. Searching through the most recent memories she had, she found herself playing with her dear son, Ceodore, in Baron. Well, not exactly playing with him. More like watching him train furiously until he was drenched in sweat. But, that worked for him, so Rosa tried not to complain. And Cecil...
She shook her head, refusing to think about it right now. It would be bad if she lost her sanity in this unfamiliar place, so she tried to entertain herself while she looked for people. The large mushrooms were rather entertaining to look at. She smiled to herself for the first time ever since she'd been here; the sight of a giant mushroom was amusing, for reasons unknown to her. The sounds of the strange creatures were... cute. Pretty. And of course, the forest was indeed quite beautiful, filled with other unusually large plants and flora. Now then, if she knew where she was and knew where her family was, the stroll through the forest might have actually been enjoyable.
And then she saw him.
He looked rather young. Well, he was definitely younger then her. He had strange white hair that Rosa thought was a bit too long for a boy. What made his white hair even more unusual was how it looked against his rather tanned skin. She could only see his back, but from what she could see, he was wearing clothes that were mostly white, grey, and shades of green. He had a number of what looked like jewellery around his neck and on his wrists and fingers.
Rosa took a cautious step forward before common sense took over her head and she stopped to think. Did she really want to approach a man like that? Someone who could very easily have her done in before she could say hi? However, that didn't mean she wasn't lost and needed information, and she couldn't forget that he was the first person that she'd run into all day. And hey, she thought. Never judge a book by it's cover. So, rebelling against common sense, she took a few mores steps forward.
"Hello," she blurted out, rather unexpectedly. Her brain had yet to figure out what she'd just done.

(Sorry for the wait and thanks for joining. Btw, you can’t see his sword unless he summons it. He appears as an unarmed warrior wearing a bracelet with a red teardrop on it on his left wrist. =) )
The Void had wandered quite happily into the lush woods, looking about at the different plants and fungi that surrounded him noting which ones were good for eating, good for creating art material, good for healing, good for killing. The Moogle Woods had always been a place the Void had enjoyed in his past life, but after being combined with the boy and stuck in the arenas surrounded by blood and flesh, he had become quiet absorbed in his new found medium for art. People and creatures. All lovely and easily torn into, but never sturdy enough to mold into beautiful art. They always broke and splattered and if that did not happen that cursed boy would always block his path. Too soft hearted to kill and always wanting to protect others from him. He hated being within the boy, sunk into that Heart full of Light. If he could have his way, he would’ve burst out of the boy taking that precious Heart with him. He would use the Heart as a reminder of what true trapped beauty was. The light would radiate from the organ as it sat in a spot on a shelf and become his new muse as he went about, twisting and turning everything he touched into perfect art.
Only free of the boy could he be free again and perhaps even find the woman who had made him this way. The one who said she loved him and who he would love to see posed and frozen forever in the perfect potion of agony. The boy’s Heart and the woman’s form, perfect masterpieces to begin his collection anew; however, there was one little problem. In order to do what he wanted, he had to be free of this boy…needed another body to be planted into, but could not do that without a scientist who knew how to work with the crystals found in the boy and the one he was trapped inside. Those scientists…he wondered if any survived his last appearance on this world. Back when he had become consumed by the blood and wanted nothing more than to bring chaos upon this world.
He paused in his walking pondering this. Hmmm…maybe he shouldn’t have gotten so carried away. Maybe if he hadn’t been so cranky back then, he and the boy could easily find the scientists and take care of their problems with one stone. The boy would get his freedom and he would have his own body, but as things were now, he was stuck with the boy. The boy that wanted to destroy him and would risk even his own life just to taste his freedom. He had to give the boy credit for wanting to take such a risk, he knew he could never do such a thing, clinging much too tightly to life than to attempt taking it even if it meant his own freedom. No, he had to insure that he’d survive and had to do his best to stop the boy’s already made plans. If he did not….the Void shook his head before focusing once more on the area around him.
There was no need to worry about the future right now. In time, he’d win the battle against the boy and when he did, the world would be created into beauty once more, but for now.... For now, he needed to enjoy his free time and get some work done, but what to mold or create?
He looked at the fungi and floral around him again. Hmmm. He could start with the simple he supposed. Use the plant life to make beauty. It wasn’t as fun as something made out of flesh and blood, thanks to the lack of blood and emotion involved, but he did not think the Moogles of this wood would make him happy either. Sure they would give him the blood he loved, but not the emotion. The Void felt like he needed something bigger. A human or something similar to make something beautiful out of. Something he could paint in red or black, or perhaps rearrange. A masterpiece for all to see, but…where was he going to find a human in a place such as this? Sure, he came from this world, but years of being locked up in that arena had made him forget much of the places he used to know like the back of his hand and the boy’s ignorance of the outside world was not help in jogging his memory. He sighed slightly and moved over to a strange fungus with the plan to examine it and make something out of it to at least kick start his muse and also have something to ready to compliment his masterpiece he'd make out of flesh; however, as his pale hand reached for the fungus the plant quivered and became black before turning to ash.
The Void frowned at this. So now my taint is too much to even grasp that which is alive, hmm?[/i] His lot in life was getting worse by the second. He needed to find a body to call his before he turned completely into dark energy or at least get the boy to submit. As it stood now, he was only a small piece of a whole that could not stand alone. He needed to be able to meld with something that did not resist or at least be able to transfer himself to a—Hmm?
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
The Void’s ears picked up on the sound of something walking that was not his own footfalls or the sounds of a creature walking. These footfalls were soft, feminine…..human. Inwardly, the Void smirk as he kept his back to the approaching person for the moment, letting his senses tell him more about the approacher. There was worry in the air and maybe something similar to fear. This was someone lost then or perhaps frightened of the monsters? A civilian or was this person something else? The Void let the person get closer, but did not turn until the person spoke confirming it was indeed a woman. The greeting was blurted out almost as if the woman had decided to say it before she lost her nerve. Interesting, so who did we have then? A child or….
The pale skinned Void turned and faced the woman, his grey eyes traveling over the white clad woman sizing her up as he scanned how much of a threat she was to him. She wasn’t a fighter type, but she wasn’t a civilian either. She had a gentle demeanor and a kind face. A healer or perhaps support of some sort? It wouldn’t be too farfetched. He had seen such both in his own life time and during his time in the arena when he had to kill team fighters when the brat didn’t have the heart to finish them off, but outside of arenas, healers and supporters were hard to find. After all this world was a little beyond magic now and had outlawed it at one point as they instead relied on crystal technology. It ran their cities and ships and had even given the boy his power. The only time healers magic healers were found were in hideouts that he wasn't sure existed anymore. So where did this one come from? She was definitely magical and yet did not belong here. Hmm.....
The Void observed her only for a second as he pondered this strange turn of events and took in her physical beauty. While she was indeed a doll, he was being repelled by the brightness that seemed to radiate from her. What was it called again? Light was it? Yes. That bright hope which the boy seemed to cling to in hopes of defeating him. Annoying, but changeable. He could alter her physically, but perhaps alter her mentally. Destroy her Light as he did that mushroom. Yes…crush the hope.
After all, how would she know what he could do? He didn’t have a weapon hanging on him or in view. No, the only off thing was perhaps the bracelet he wore on his left wrist. An odd bit of jewelery that could stick out to a careful eye; however, to the casual observer the bracelet could be mistaken for just another bit of jewelery to the stuff he already wore. This was ideal. Yes.
A slight smirk appeared on his face as he left hand twitched slightly, wanting to summon his blade and strike the woman; however, at that moment, the boy intervened and the slight smirk faded as his face became blank for a second and he looked down at the shady floor.
After a brief struggle, the Void knocked the boy back once more. A bit of agitation crossed his face and then it was gone as he focused on the woman once more and looked up giving her an apologetic smile.
“Sorry. You took me by surprise and so I did not really know what to do for a moment. How may I help you, Miss…?” he opened his hands and gestured for her to fill in the blank. While he was playing nice right now, inwardly he was boiling with rage. The boy had ruined his plan and now he had to play games to get his way and cover the little mishap so the woman would not become suspicious of him. Despite how agitating being nice was, it was beneficial when you wanted one to trust you…and in turn drop their guard. He’d just have be patient and mold her when she was soft enough to be molded into the perfect piece of art.

(Oh, is that right? I'm sorry. I'll fix that. Oh yeah, and sorry for such a short post. I've been coming up blank today. ; Rosa just stared at the young man, wondering what in the world might have been going on in his mind. The moment she appeared before him, he had been acting strange. One, it was almost as if he knew she was coming. He displayed surprise, but not the surprise she thought he would display. It was a very strange display of surprise. It struck her as so unusual, she instinctively stepped back one step. What should I do? was what was going through her head. Heseems gentle on the outside, but I feel that there's something else going on... She gasped quietly, realizing what she just did. On the outside, she was thinking that it was rude to step away based on appearances and first impressions. But on the inside, she felt that she stepped away because of something much more dangerous. Her body instinctively reacted to something that was going on inside of him. Something very deep... How she was getting this she didn't know. Perhaps it was a 'woman's intuition'. Against her will, she stepped one step forward, back to her starting position before she took a step back. Then she saw something very strange. It was as if the boy was having a battle with himself. She felt something click in side the boy. When she first approached the boy, she felt as if he were somewhat... arrogant. When he saw her, it seemed almost as if she were some delightful surprise that someone had left for him. He was smirking at her, and she felt as if he wanted to take a step towards her, to do something... But then his face went blank, and that feeling disappeared. However, almost immediately after, the feeling disappeared again and he felt normal again. Normal, huh? she thought. What was normal to him?"Oh, about that," she smiled slightly, tilting her head unconsciously. Just acting as if she wasn't bothered. "I happen to be lost, and I have no idea where I am right now. If you don't mind, would you tell me where I am?" As long as she acted like this, it would be fine... right? Nope, something told her that it wouldn't be 'all right'. Naive, naive... She then thought of asking if he was lost as well. Nothing to be offended about right? But then Rosa considered the possibility of him having large heaps of pride. She grimaced slightly, not wanting to think of what might happen to her if she got the boy angry. She sighed. No point in thinking about getting away, since she already got herself into this mess. "Excuse me, I hope you don't mind me asking..." she paused. "Are you not from here as well?" To be perfectly honest, Rosa didn't know what to say. It was already a strange situation as it was. What if she made it worse? The thoughts flew around in her head.

((No worries and don’t worry about the length. I’m just glad you posted. Hope your muse comes back to you soon. ^^)
He was being nice, hadn’t attacked, stayed his ground. He didn’t move to pursue her when she took a step back. The grey eyed artist simply raised his eyebrows slightly at the action as if to ask in a silent way what was the matter. While his face remained calm and slightly concerned. Inwardly, the Void’s agitation changed to amusement. Oh? Was she going to try and flee? Force him to chase her down? Hunt her before capturing her and letting his muse do what it did best? He had to admit the idea was much more fun than exploring the forest for inspiration or chatting for that matter. At least with a human, he’d be able to let true creativity flow. He was filled with joy at the thought of the hunt, but kept his thoughts hidden as he observed the girl calmly. Go ahead and run little doll, he thought, keeping his anticipation hidden; however, he found himself being highly disappointed.
The woman did indeed step back, but for whatever reason had decided to hold her ground. A light gasp on her part hinted that perhaps she saw her move as an error, but the her reasoning as to why this was, he could not begin to imagine. To him, the only error that she had made was getting his hopes up for a nice hunt. Now that it seemed she would not be running, the excitement settled and he had to resort to playing nice again while being sure to keep the boy blocked out. The last thing he needed was for the child to awaken and beat him back thanks to this woman’s stand. He would not let “Light” have what he already considered his. Fighting back was the only way he could win and end this body sharing once and for all, but enough of that. He had a pretty doll to work with, so no distraction please.
And what an entertaining doll this was. Despite stepping back earlier, she decided to return to her original starting position, keeping the distance respectful, but still close. The Void didn’t move or show any sign of offense, but simply relaxed as the facial expression went from concerned to calm as if he was relieved that nothing was wrong at all and that he was happy to see her stay. This action was very far from the truth, but he didn’t mind lying if it meant his prey would stay. In any case, despite his act to appear normal on the outside, he did make a mental note of the woman’s study of himself and for one moment wondered if she could actually the divide—him and the boy. And if she could see the divide, then how would she react to it? The grey eyes watched her evenly despite the calmness and kindness the face claimed the creature inside was giving out.
In the end, the signs of what she knew were hidden under her words and her smile. As she spoke and tilted her head, the Void returned her smile acting like all was well and that he did not notice her hesitation or see through her act. She was bothered by him, but instead played it off and now was putting on a brave face to cover her tracks. Nice. Very nice. He could bring that brave aspect out of her when he made her art. Yes. Yes. He was liking this new subject more and more by the second and what was this? Lost, she said and clueless as to where she was? Hehehe. An outsider that he was sure someone would miss, but no one would find. It’d be so easy to hide her away, add her to a hidden collection of art he would soon be starting…and if anyone came looking for her, he could push them in the wrong directions for they would be outsiders too. This was his home and what he could remember of the place, he could use to easily mislead a search party, but he couldn’t play with that plan unless he had a name, but to get that he’d have to play nice.
While all this played in his head, he remained kind and open on the outside, so when she told him her predicament, he simply nodded as his expression changed to one of sympathy. As if he understood, he spoke.
“Ah. Lost is never good, but lucky for you’ve found me,” he said and then gave her a gentle smile that easily hide his malicious nature from those who could not sense it already. From those that would easily believe the lie. “This place is called the Moogle Woods. Named after the cute little furballs that live upstairs,” he said, pointing a pail finger with an elegant black nail on it upwards towards the large leaves of the tree top. He paused as he let his hand drop observing the woman as she seemed to weigh something in her mind, but what he could not tell or cared to find out what it was she was weighing. What matter to him was how much he could get this innocent child to trust him. How easy she’d become art. In any case, he kept calm as he shifted his weight slightly the left and placed one hand on his hip as he let her think, his attention seemingly directed at the beauty of the trees around him. When the woman did speak, he returned his grey eyes to her and shook his head his smile never fading.
“Oh, I don’t mind the questions at all,” he said to her first set of words and then listened to her question and nodded, keeping in mind to play this carefully.
“This place is my home even though I live in the city and not here. I just like to come out every now and then to enjoy nature and get the muse running again. After all, there is so much beauty out here that the place is hard to ignore,” he said with a smile before turning away from her and moving over to a beautiful flower growing from one of the trees. Being careful not touch it, so that he wouldn’t destroy it, but also so he wouldn’t trigger the flowers defense mechanic, he leaned towards the bright red flower and looked at it lovingly.
“For example, these rare flowers grow in various parts of the forest. Their colors and beauty shine brightly in this place making good inspiration for drawing landscapes of various shapes and colors. It reminds me of where the true joy in life is and they smell wonderful,” he said standing up straight again, his smile suggesting he was enjoying talking about his favorite subject as much as he was enjoying her company. At least this act wasn’t a lie. He was indeed enjoying this and talking about art was never boring to him. After all that is what he lived to do, to create. Of course, he understood that not everyone liked to listen to rambling, so he resisted the urge to go on and instead turned his attention back to his subject.
“Miss…ummm….?” he paused for a moment with a puzzled look before looking over at her with an apologetic expression on his face. “I never got your name did I? If you did say it, I am terrible sorry to have forgotten your name so soon,” he said with what appeared to be an embarrassed smile. He gave her a moment to answer (if she wanted to) before nodding to her with that gentle smile. “My name is D,” he responded back introducing himself to the girl, hoping that by now she was relaxed enough to trust him a little. If not this next part could be tricky, but still he had to try. It was the only way he could think at the moment that he could potential have her to mold. Maybe this would work…maybe. He let a silence fall between them before letting a small “Oh!” escape his lips as if a thought that had slipped by had finally come back and hit him.
“How rude of me to not suggest this before,” he said with as he rubbed his arm again pretending to be embarrassed by his failure in manners. He looked up at her innocently as he spoke “Would like to sample its fragrance?” He gesturing towards the flower, so she’d know what he spoke of. A flower he knew could potentially stun her if she got too close to it, but he never told her that. He simply wanted to test just how easy she would be to make into his next project. And with no one here to save her….Hehehe. He could have loads of fun with this without ever getting caught. No one here knew her and the moogles were much too absorbed in their own little worlds to be worried about him and the girl. The situation was perfect and would stay that way as long as no one interrupted.
Now what would the doll do?

(Sorry for making you wait! Since I have school, the only real time I have to reply is on Saturdays... Oh, and um, I didn't know how the flower's defence mechanism actually worked, so I kind of just... Made it do something. If you know how it's actually supposed to work, just make a note of it and I'll make sure to fix it ASAP.)
A silent exchange of words happened with their actions. From a spectator's point of view, nothing was happening, but Rosa's intuition was better than that. However, what she didn't know was that it had become a very fake conversation, with both participants displaying fake emotions and both participants were putting up a front, lying with one another. Rosa's intuition didn't go too far; she was not a mind reader. She had no idea of knowing that this strange person was also playing her, just as she thought she was playing him. Not that there was any reason for her to be playing with him. She just thought that the boy was strange, is all. He was unnatural to her, and she was in an unnatural environment, so she was being overly cautious. Even still, she didn't have the slightest idea of the danger that she was in, so her guard even dared to relax a little. Oh, the woes...
Despite her strange actions, the boy didn't seem the slightest bit fazed. Or rather, he even looked a bit entertained. Was she entertaining? Back in Baron, entertaining was a job for the entertainers. She wasn't entertaining. Or at least, she thought she wasn't. But, then again, her natural actions calls for immense amounts of entertainment. She was naturally 'entertaining'. She didn't mean to be, but she was. Because apparently, this boy found her entertaining; she was apparently funny. Like a wolf watching it's prey cause chaos in a desperate attempt to get away...
The fact that the boy wasn't surprised, or at least he didn't seem surprised, struck Rosa as funny. If somebody she had never met took a few steps toward her to meet her, the took one step back and then gasped, and then finally returned to her starting position and smile at her, wouldn't she have thought of that person as insane? Of course, that was under normal circumstances. This was not normal circumstances. It was very far from normal. Rosa's eyes followed his eyes, wondering what the boy could be seeing. An insane person? Somebody mentally challenged? Both were rather accurate. Here she was, pretending to be kind and lost, when she didn't have to because she really was lost and it was of her nature to be kind to people, no matter who they were. So what was that dark feeling she felt, the eerie, ominous feeling that was oozing out of his body..?
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the fair boy speak. She was lucky to have found him? Of yes, she was most certainly lucky...
... or that was what her outer self had been trying to say to her. Look, she thought to herself. You're lost in some place you've never been to before, and here is a kind young man willing to help you! The young man's gentle smile backed up this thought, and she relaxed a little bit more. Just a little bit.
"Indeed I am," she chuckled softly, smiling back at the boy. This was easy, the seeming-I'm-all-right part. Even though she wasn't all right at all. The feeling coming from the boy was very unsettling now. She should become an actor. With this, she thought she'd be able to fool anybody. Obviously not the boy in front of me, though. Her eyes followed the direction in which the young boy's delicate finger was pointing, and looking up, she thought she could make out little floating figures scurrying about, ignore the two of them below. Oh, so she had missed them. What if they spoke the same language as she did? They didn't seem like man-eating creatures. A much more fitting alternative for conversation, rather than this seemingly-kind-boy-but-in-actuality-very-scary boy standing in front of her. She could even feel sweat appearing on her forehead. What was with her and young men? She needed her intuition checked.
This place was his home, even though he live in the city, apparently. Oh, a temporary home, even though he already had one? Wow, that was interesting. Part of her wanted to put her hands on her hips disbelievingly, but she also knew that she had to be aware of her manners. "Why, that's very interesting! I'd love to visit a place like this more often," she replied sweetly. She was being honest, though. This was indeed a beautiful place, and she'd love to visit it more often. She also found the boy interesting, though not as much as the boy had an interest in her. Yet she didn't even realize this.
"Oh, so you're an artist, are you?" she asked again, this time honestly interested. She was always fascinated by art. "Yes, I too think that this would make for some very interesting inspiration. The flowers here are beautiful." She leaned in as the other boy did, not aware of any defence mechanisms. She turned to the boy, saying: "I think I should like to see some of your works sometime." Ha-ha, wait, what? Rosa did not realize the danger of the words she did not say.
"Oh, my name is Rosa," she informed him. "I come from a place called Baron," she added. This D person... is quite open, isn't he? Rosa thought. He almost makes you want to relax. Indeed, Rosa was more relaxed than she was when she first saw him, but that didn't mean her guard was completely down.
"Sample it's fragrance, hmm?" Rosa thought about it. It was a beautiful flower, so why not? Rosa slowly leaned in close, taking a whiff of it's fragrance. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the flower suddenly jerked and a liquid sprayed out from it's stems, causing Rosa to let out a small yelp and move back rather quickly. A little bit of the liquid managed to work its way onto the skin of her arm, and Rosa watched as it disappeared. She then felt numb in the arm, and tried to move it. Nothing. She looked over at the boy, a confused look on her face. She hadn't yet registered that fact the he had done it on purpose completely, but now her suspicions were growing. She took a few steps back, and then narrowed her eyes.
"What's going on here?"

(That is no problem. I understand and can wait. BTW, the post was just fine nothing, so nothing needs to be fixed at all. ^^)
Oh the fun this was. The wolf in sheep’s clothing watched his prey as the emotions played in her eyes. She was uncertain of him and had decided to try to play the actress, a job she did okay, but no where nearly as well as he could play the part. After all, unlike some, art was his life and acting was nothing unfamiliar to this malicious being. While the woman held her ground and remained innocent and kind, something he was beginning to think was just her nature rather than an act, the Void played the helpful listener and like a curious cat drawn to something interesting yet dangerous, she slowly stepped into his trap. Her body language was becoming more relaxed as she began to let down her guard slightly. It made the Void happy to see, although his smile never shifted from gentle and his eyes never showed the malice within.
He watched as the woman seemed to struggle with a thought or two maybe regarding him and the way he reacted to her actions. Maybe she was curious as to why he wasn’t surprised, but instead amused by her actions then? The answer to such a question was simple to answer. The Void lived and thrived in a world where the impossible happened and things beyond the imagination existed. He his mind didn’t see the world like the normal person did. No, he always saw beauty and inspiration in everything around him. The flowers were elegant colors to paint with, the sky a vast sea of thoughts, the animals teachers of patience and inspirations for things such as airships and pretty dresses, customs and other devices, and people and creatures? So beautiful in their own right, but always in need of tweaking to make them the perfect art piece. Death only made these things more glorious for it captured them in their best moments as the last bit of breath slipped out them and the soul headed to the afterlife.
The world was filled with such wonderful and beautiful toys that made this artist sing and dance inwardly. He was happy to be alive and to see everything and learn something new every day. His child like joy and curiosity meant he had no boundaries and with an imagination as creative and expressive as his, there was nothing he could not do. He was mad, but could not see it any longer. He had fallen off the deep end a long time ago and shattered into four distinct pieces that probably could never be put back together. The boy thought he could destroy him, but in the end, no one could. Whether he found a new body or not, the boy would die and he would survive to become something more. He was born to be the greatest artist to ever grace the surface of the world and spread his beautiful chaos everywhere, but the boy and the Light always stood in his way. Always trying to stop his progress and in turn hold him back from his dreams. He hated them and so in turn sought to destroy them by making them each beautiful examples of what held back dreams looked like for the world to see.
So you see, the Void’s mind did not work in the normal or calm. It worked in chaos and unbalance. So the woman’s reaction to him did not surprise, but only amused the already insane artist. It never crossed his mind that she could be like him or that she was worried about judgment for the Void did not judge anyone. For all he met could be beautiful art pieces with time and love. The only thing he judged was how much work would need to be done to what he was working with. Yes, yes, work but enough of that. What was she doing now?
She listened well to his words and relaxed a bit more, falling deeper into his trap. While she seemed to believe she was indeed lucky to find him and even gave a chuckle that seemed genuine, the Void could sense her caution lingering, but it did not matter. As she looked away from him and up towards the tree top, the mad artist’s eyes narrowed slightly in delight. That angle was perfect! Innocent and beautiful. Yes. He could position his statue to look towards the sky, but he’d have to be careful to leave that innocent face of hers unmarred. Yes…less red paint too. He need to keep her like she was. Poison would do nicely, but first he had to immobilize her to begin such a process.
The look only lasted a second and then was gone about time the girl looked back at him, his face kind and gentle once more. He took note of the sweat appearing on her forehead and could smell the fear, but he didn’t acknowledge it as he instead told her a little bit about himself. He heard her response and had to resist the urge to smirk at it. Oh she’d be doing more than visiting the place when he was done with her. She would be forever frozen in time to gaze up at the beauty of this place. She would become part of it, but once more his thoughts were hidden as his expression changed to one of mild shock.
“You do not get chances to see places like this?” he asked and then fell silent to give her time to answer. While the reaction and question was natural, the artist really did not care. He only said what he thought may keep his prey from fleeing. Nothing more or less.
In any case, the conversation moved to art and he was pleasantly surprised that the girl even expressed an interest in the subject he loved so. The Void’s grey eyes lit up with true joy at finding a like minded person and she agreed about the flowers being good inspiration too! Oh, he liked her. He liked her a lot and maybe on a better day when he wasn’t looking for an art piece to create, he and she could’ve been friends for a while. And maybe if that happened, he would’ve indeed been able to show her some of his work. Too bad. Too bad indeed. In any case, the Void smiled pleasantly as he listened holding back his hopefulness as he saw she'd leaned towards the flower with him; however, she did not lean close enough for the flower to do anything to her. Drats!
Regardless of the disappointment, the smile didn’t fade as he heard her request. In fact, his smile only seemed to grow more pleasant.
“I’d be honor to show you what I have done and see what you think. I could always do with a good critic observing my work,” he told her, never letting on that she was about to become a piece to his new collection. To top things off, the woman had relaxed considerably and now he even had her name and the name of her world! Oh the fun of finding more art projects. This was almost too much joy to hold in, but he maintained control and managed to respond normally.
“What a pretty name,” he said and then tilted his head when she mentioned her world truly curious about it. “Baron? I’ve never heard that place before. I wonder what it is like,” he said and then looked up at the trees, pretending to try to imagine what that new place would be like. The excitement of a new place was real and easily showed in his eyes, but the reason behind the excitement was far from sincere. Oh well. At least that truth remain hidden. In any case, his attention was drawn back to her as he heard her speak in regards to the flower. She hesitated thinking about the suggestion and then deciding that the flower was not harmful, she did exactly what he wanted her to do. She went to smell the flower and the flower naturally retaliated to defend itself, spraying out its paralyzing liquid; however, the girl was a lot quicker than he thought and so had not been fully hit; however, some of the liquid had gotten on her arm and made it useless as it seeped into her skin. It was a start, but not enough. To make matters worse, the girl was now very suspicious of the situation and was stepping away, her intention to flee closer than before….and unfortunately for her, the Void had lost his patience with the game.
As she asked the question, the Void chuckled darkly as a dark aura began to seep off of him and flow towards his left hand. “What’s going on?” he repeated quietly as the darkness formed into a ball of darkness that he bounced innocently from one hand to the other as if it was just an ordinary ball.
“Nothing is going on at all except…you’re about to become a piece of wonderful art, Warrior of the Light!”
As he spoke, his words went from kind to filled with malice and unstableness, confirming any thoughts the woman may have had about him not being normal. At the end of his words, he suddenly shifted his weight forward and threw the ball directly at the girl. As the ball flew it burst into four thin ropes of darkness that sought to grab and ensnare the woman. He was through playing games. It was time to get to work!

Rosa's doubts were washed away, and her suspicions were confirmed. This man was definitely no ordinary man. He was a mad artist, and Rosa suspected that she might have something to do with his art. Rosa shuddered lightly, wondering what kind of art that D actually did. The man was a killer, Rosa knew that for sure.
Rosa didn't have time to think, because D had sent a flying ball of darkness and evil towards her. She could feel it coming, but she was rooted in place. She could have probably dodged the ball, but fear paralysed her, and the ball wrapped itself around her without difficulty. She got caught. The worst possible outcome when you're confronted by a crazy man who wants to do something to your body that would somehow translate to art. This was definitely very bad. She tried to resist the darkness, trying to somehow wriggle herself free. She couldn't do it; the ropes of darkness sought to hold her tighter, and she suspected that is she tried to move any more she would be completely unable to move. She stopped trying to resist the darkness and tried to think instead, hoping she would come up with a solution before D had the time to get to her and take her away to some sort of evil lair, or whatever it was the people like him did to damsels in distress. She obviously didn't have a prince around to help her. She suspected that there might be something off about D, something more, but she didn't have time to think about him. Right now she had to try to save her own life, before D tried to kill her. Well, it was almost useless, seeing that she was already ensnared in tight ropes of darkness.
"What are you going to do to me, seeing as you already have me caught in your little trap?" she asked him through gritted teeth, her eyes narrowed. She was a fool; of course she shouldn't have trusted him. Now she was trying to buy herself sometime while she figured out what course of action she should take. There weren't many options available. Well, she thought. I might as well make one. She knew that darkness was weak to Light. To her, it was kind of like common knowledge. She learned this by accidentally casting Cure on an undead. To her initial surprise, it actually inflicted pain on the being, rather than curing it. She thought that she had to do something, some sort of spell that would allow her to escape. But what? She knew she could only use one; D would not give her the opportunity to use another spell once he realized that she had the potential to escape. Hopefully she didn't know right now. But if he already did know, perhaps it would be good for her, seeing as he hadn't rushed to her side yet. But then again, he probably didn't know. She wasn't from this place, so he wouldn't know who she was just based on her attire. And she knew that she didn't give away any vital information during their conversation other than her name and where she came from.
"Are you going to make me into the art that you mentioned? Is that why you're attacking me?" she queried, still trying to buy valuable time. One second could be enough to save her life. It didn't exactly take long to cast a spell...
But what spell was she supposed to use? She dug through her memory, shuffling through the spells she knew how to cast. Which one would fit perfectly fit this situation? She also knew she had to take into consideration that her one of her arms were paralysed; she couldn't afford any mistakes. Think, Rosa, she urged herself. What are you going to do? She couldn't use a very powerful spell in her weakened state, she would need something to buy her more time. Wait a second, buy her time. She needed to slow D. Okay, she thought silently. You can do this. She closed her eyes, and she glowed with a soft light as she cast a silent Slow on D. There, she thought, a bit satisfied with her work. That should do something. Now, I have to get out of this tangle of darkness. A normal Light spell would probably work. She was being held, so could that count as a status ailment? Only one way to find out. She was going to need to concentrate for the next spell. The thought that D was somewhat slowed, though, helped her relax a bit. She closed her eyes again, and a stronger, green light emanated from her body. The use of her Esuna began to slowly unbind the darkness. It was weak to light, and soon, it shrivelled away.
At this point, she was getting tired. Sweat decorated her forehead, and she wiped some of it off with her hand. Oh dear, she thought. What do I do now? She probably wouldn't be able to outrun the boy, seeing as he was a warrior. She would have to hide. She brought both of her hands together, her paralysed hand free from paralysis now after she had used Esuna. She closed her eyes once more, and then cast a Teleport spell. The ind around her stirred, and then she was no longer in the spot she was before. She was beside a tree. She peered around, and then she stiffened.
What the heck. She teleported to a tree right behind D.
Well, she had herself to blame. She tried to teleport away right after using two spells. Of course she wouldn't get to far. Rosa stayed completely still and prayed that D wouldn't find her.

She is mine!
A sense of pure joy and excitement had filled up The Void as the Ropes of Darkness caught a hold of his precious piece of art and bound her. She tried to wiggle free, but the ropes only tightened causing the Void to chuckle. She could struggle and risk passing out when the ropes got to tight or she could submit. Either way was fine by him for now that she was exactly where he wanted her his true work could begin. He flicked out his left hand, the bracelet glowing before shifting into the beautiful weapon called the Scythe of Agony. A perfect tool for carving and also a symbol of what he represented: death.... and death was what was definitely about to find this girl. Yes, soon she’d be nothing, but a pretty statute. Soon, soon, soon.
The thoughts went through his head as he examined the sharpness of the curved blade for just a second before lowering the weapon slightly and walking towards Rosa with steady and even steps that drew him closer to his subject who had fear radiating off of her making the whole ordeal even better. She had stopped resisting and had given into her situation. As she did this, she began to speak, perhaps hoping to stop him, buy herself time, but nothing would halt him now. He could see the end results and taste the blood about to be spilled and those thoughts….those thoughts were what made him strong. Strong enough to block out the boy who was desperately trying to fight back, trying to save the woman, but he would not allow that to happen. No, he’d have his art, but since she was going to die anyway, he guess he could humor her and answer her question.
“Oh that is simple, my dear. I’m going to give you a small cut that will quickly drain the blood from you. Don’t worry the blood won’t be getting everywhere and the pain will only last for a second and then your soul can be free to fly wherever it may want to,” he said, his tones sweet, but dripping with insanity as he kept moving towards her, thinking where the cut should go. It couldn’t be an spot exposed so maybe a nick in the neck where her hair could hide it, then? Yes. Yes. That would do. Yes, indeed!
He never slowed down as he got closer and closer, reading her anger and perhaps regret for trusting him. That was too bad wasn’t it? And maybe he too felt a little remorse for having to lie to her, but then again, even a mermaid would cry if that would gain what she sought. So the lie and the mistrust and anger that followed when discovered was a small price to pay when compared to the award one gained at the end -- these beautiful subjects to sculpt! Why one would have to be insane not to see the worth of such trickery! To the Void, lying…lying was natural and was the reason he got what he wanted most of the time. So why be remorseful for long, hmm? No, now was time for joy and celebration.
The thoughts went on as the Void continued to move. He was almost to her now and she asked another question. To this one, he nodded innocently back at her.
“That is exactly what I said before and I had no choice, but to attack you. You had begun to catch onto things you shouldn’t have and in turn tried to run. I couldn’t let you escape, dear one. That would’ve been a sad loss indeed, but just think about what you are to become. A symbol of beauty and perfection! You should consider this a gift, so don’t hate me for this. I am truly sorry our conversation had to end so soon, but when work calls you just can't resist! ” he said as he lifted his scythe and prepared to get to work, now that he was right where he needed to be to work properly. His scythe went up and then—
What?![/color]
His eyes registered the glow of a spell being cast, but before he could do anything the invisible spell had him, making his movements slow and heavy. He couldn’t fight it either, no matter how much he struggled. So she was a support type indeed and a mage to boot. Cursed all! He had underestimated her thanks to her unarmed appearance and gentle persona, but now he’d have to take the consequences in. Despite how annoying being slowed down was, the insane artist would have to wait it out. The girl was trapped and while she could cast a spell, she was only slowing down the inevitable. She would die. The ropes would ensure that, but again the woman caught him off guard.
He watched from his slowed position how the woman glowed again casting another spell that was strong enough to break through the dark ropes that held her. Freaking Light! he thought, but then found himself wanting to scream as the sweat drenched beauty vanished from sight. The slow spell slowly wore off and the scythe that had been lifted, but slowly dropping until now sliced through the air before brushing against the ground. Growling, the Void tensed as he prepared to open a Corridor and use them to find and hunt his prize down. He raised his pale hand, but did not summon the Corridor as he sensed the girl’s presence…right behind him. A cruel smile formed on his face.
“I still see you, little doll,” the Void sang to her as he turned still suffering from the linger effects of the spell that still slowed him down a bit. As he did this, he would look to the tree she was hiding behind. He lifted a heavy hand and prepared to launch another attack at her, but suddenly froze as his expression went slightly blank and he became dizzy. Groaning, he took a step back as his head drooped. He was trying to shake off something, but what could not be seen. Whatever it was that was bothering the Void seemed to be trying to buy girl some more time, but whether she’d run or try to help whatever it was that was stalling the creature was yet to be seen.
Inwardly, the Void was wrestling with the boy who had decided now was a good time to wake up fully and force his way to the front, but with an art project unfinished before him the Void wasn’t going to give in easily and fought back for control. With the two forces fighting within, the body remained in a stunned state, holding its head and trembling as the fight went on; however, the stunned state wouldn’t last long. In the end one of the two personalities had to win... ___________________________________________________________

Rosa felt her body go cold as these words sank in. D knew where she was. D knew where she was. Her Slow spell was incredibly weak, so it wouldn’t last much longer, especially in her state. She was extremely tired, and probably wouldn’t be able to run even if she had the chance. That was what she got for casting three spells in one go. Well, she was in quite the bind, and her situation was desperate, but still. Rosa should’ve known how to control herself. If she had just used Teleport, she might have gotten farther than behind the tree that was coincidentally right behind D. She silently cursed her bad luck, sweat dripping from her forehead, and she dreaded the moment where D finally caught up to her.
The moment never came. About 30 seconds passed before Rosa had the guts to turn around and look over to see what had happened. She then saw D, standing perfectly still, his face deadpan. He wasn’t moving. She heard him groan, and she flinched as he began to move. No, it was a false alarm; he had taken a step back. She was quite intrigued. What went wrong? She didn’t have time to be amazed, though, because she was in a rather tight situation herself. D was stunned, for reasons unknown to her, and she was dead tired. She began to walk, taking it slowly. She had her back faced towards D, and though it wasn’t the smartest thing she could have done, all she wanted to do at the moment was get away from him. Her pace quickened, until she looked like she was walking somewhat normally.
Rosa looked back, still interested in whatever was bugging D. Of course, now was not the time to be interested in anything, but Rosa couldn’t help it. Maybe it was that “other aura” that Rosa had suspected when she first approached D. She chuckled; her womanly instincts were accurate for once. She could still see him, though, and that wasn’t a good thing. Still, it didn’t look like he was going anywhere anytime soon. She naïvely thought she was safe, and took a minute to take her breath. Her stamina was slowly recovering now, and she felt that she could run for one minute, but didn’t dare. She would only be wasting her energy, and right now, energy was suicide at the moment.
She looked back once again, still curious. She was now resting against a tree, attempting to recover. Her movements were still somewhat groggy, but now she seemed much more normal; the blood was returning to her already pale face, and her breathing was beginning to steady. It was strange. Rosa wasn’t normally this tired after casting only three spells. Perhaps the struggle with the darkness had something to do with it…
She was able to stand up straight now. She was still sweating slightly, but she had regained most of her stamina. Her trusty womanly instincts told her that D wouldn’t be stunned for long, and that she had to run. She began to run lightly, in another direction that was still going away from D. She didn’t have long to run; D was about to recover…

((Ah no worries, but thanks for fixing it nonetheless. I see it quite nicely now. ^^ ))
“Stay down,” the Void growled at the boy that was desperately trying to fight back within. “This is my time to shine…. and make the world beautiful. Why don’t you understand that?” the creature continued to talk to the boy, his words low and strained under the headache the battle was causing him; however, the boy continued to fight and would not give up, keeping the body frozen to the spot it was in. The only signs of the struggle within that were visible to the casual observer was how the blank stare suddenly became a pained expression as the man clutched his head with his free hand, the scythe drooping slightly as it hung loosely in his other hand as the battle within raged on. It took a while, but slowly the Void pushed the boy back a bit gaining some control of the body once more as the slow spell finally wore off.
In that brief moment of control, he saw the girl trying to flee first by walking and then by running away from the area. No…she is getting away, the creature thought as it gritted its teeth before it tried to follow the woman, stumbling along to keep her from getting out the range of his sight.
“You can run doll, but you won’t get far,” he growled, trying to focus enough to get around the boy’s resistance. It took a lot of effort to keep moving, let alone snap his fingers. It took him three good attempts to finally gather enough concentration and force to summon the warm ball of red fire to his hands. Taking aim, he tried to fling the ball at the girl to hit her in the leg or back…anywhere to slow her down; however, the shot went wide, so the likelihood of the ball actually hitting his target was slim indeed. Regardless, if it would hit or not, the Void would continue to pursue her, determined to make her art.
The grip on the scythe was now tight and the internal conflict was slowly wearing the creature down, but still it continued to move forward. Slowly it was gaining on the woman as it moved.
“I will kill you. I will!” the creature called to the girl in a voice that was mixed with agitation, insanity, and fatigue. The girl may not be able to outlast him, but the creature wasn’t sure how much longer it could maintain control of the body either. The more it moved towards it goal, the stronger the resistance was from the boy. Why? Why was the child like this? Why would the boy not let him work?!
The fear of losing when it was so close to success made the creature desperate and push itself harder. It wanted blood, to create art, and win. It didn’t want to be pushed back again and trapped in a corner of the boy’s mind. This was its time to live not the boy’s. He wouldn’t allow it. No. No! NO!!!
The creature’s pace quickened as the gap between the two became smaller and smaller. He was so close to her. He had to make a move, so he did. When the gap was small enough, he gathered his strength to lift the scythe and made a swing at her back with the weapon, but once more his aim was unsteady so the success rate of the strike was low.
“Tch! Curse you,” the Void growled in despair as he was forced to stop running. The scythe dropped once more as the creature stayed where it was breathing hard and shaking his head, trying to knock the boy back, but failing. There was a thin layer of sweat upon the creature's face and from the looks of thing the creature did appear to be getting weaker or sick as slowly, but surely the Void lost its grip and the boy pushed his way forward, stalling the creature enough to hopefully help the girl get away. How far she’d make it he did not know, but hopefully by the time she got tired, she’d be safely away from the Void. Or if she didn't get far he'd be back in control….

~ Fireball:[/u] A ball of red fire will appear in Deshi’s hand at the snap of his finger. When thrown this ball burst into flames and rockets towards a target. If hit, light fire damage is done. The closer you are to him when he lets this thing lose, the more damage it does. It also will catch anything it touches on fire (unless it is not flammable like water for example). The fire can be put out if you are quick enough though. 1 post.

Running was hard enough, but she was also forced to navigate through the green of the forest. She took another step, and tripped over a stray root that came from a rather large tree. She stumbled for a bit, and was just about to hit the ground, but she caught hold onto a nearby tree and saved herself from falling. She didn’t want to fall. If she wanted to survive, then she wasn’t allowed to fall. She had to keep running, but she was already tired. She forced herself to run, though. D was behind her, doing something, and though he might’ve recovered from her Slow spell, he was probably still struggling with whatever it was he was struggling with. It struck her as strange, but she didn’t have time to dwell on the dilemma. She had to get as far away as possible. Her throat was beginning to hurt as she still continued to run.
Suddenly, a hot ball of fire whizzed past her head, burning her shoulder. She continued to run, though the pain was beginning to take its toll on her. “Ugh,” she groaned, sneaking a peek at her shoulder. It was a mild burn, but it still hurt a lot. She could smell smoke, most likely coming from her. Ugh, she thought this time. She was caught between being badly injured and extremely disgusted. Suddenly, she felt the air around her change, and she instinctively veered to the right. Nanoseconds later, D’s scythe tore through the air. She shuddered as she ran, the distance between them beginning to grow. Once she thought she was far enough, she collapsed onto the ground. “Oh dear…” she said quietly, still on the ground. She was dead tired, and soon lost the will to continue to run. She hoped that D was still distracted by whatever it was that was distracting him. She struggled to bring her hand up so that she could cast a Cure spell, but she thought about it for a moment. If she casted a Cure spell in her state, not only would it not help, but it would also succeed in making her even more tired. She considered this, and then decided that it would be better to conserve energy and live with the burn. She feared another confrontation with D.
She groggily sat up against the tree trunk, resting her head. Just as she finished doing this, she heard D scream at her, threatening her with death. Fear flooded Rosa’s body and mind, and for a second, she couldn’t breathe. Negativity began to pour in, and soon she was constantly thinking that it was over, that she was going to die, and that she would never see her family again. She began to close her eyes, her eyelids becoming heavy. When she did this, a picture of Cecil appeared, followed by a picture of her son.
No!
She quickly bolted upright, her eyelids shaking like the wings of a translucent butterfly. She shook her head wearily, as if she were trying to fight off a disease. She clutched onto the trunk of the tree with her hand, and hoisted herself up. She was not going to let herself die. For the sake of Cecil. For her son.
She stood there, immobile, not moving. She was thinking. What should I do? What should I do? What should I do? The thoughts in her mind were screaming at her, a jumble of hornets stinging her over and over again. Her mind went back to the D who looked like he was fighting with himself. What was that? He was fighting with himself. It was almost as if… he were fighting with a different person. A different, but good, person. The two of them shared a body. She was thinking she was crazy, and then quickly dismissed the thought. She worked instead on conserving energy, and would have to deal with the burn on her shoulder later. Please, she thought silently. Whoever you are. Please, keep D away. Just for a while.

(Not at all. You may do that if you like. =) )
Well, the good thing was the fireball wasn’t a complete failure. It hit, but the intended target which was the woman’s leg. Instead, it had hit her in the shoulder…but it did not slow her down. She kept running, so he kept following; however, the more he followed the more he became tired…and the more he became tired…the more he began to lose control. It made the Void desperate and do whatever it could to get his art piece. So desperate was he that, he had tried slicing her with the scythe, but some intuition of hers had allowed her to sense the oncoming attack and dodge it!
On top of that bad turn of events, the boy’s resistance slowed him down and had halted him once more in his tracks. Holding the scythe loosely in his hands, the body remained where it was uncertain if it should move or stay. So instead, it swayed slightly as it looked at the ground with blank eyes, looking like a puppet being held up by invisible strings. Nobody was currently in control as the two forces battled it out with each other for control. Within the battle field was a messy one. The Void was clawing, cursing, and using every dirty trick in the book to beat the boy back into submission, but no matter how hard it tried, the boy kept getting up from his beating, kept trying to pull it back down into a pit and lock him away. The Void wouldn’t have it. He would not be locked away!! So the struggle continued until after a minute, the Void pushed its way to the surface enough to focus once more.
“Where are you, little doll?” the creature growled as fury and insanity filled its being. It was still struggling against the boy, but for the moment it had a bit of control. It looked around with its deep grey eyes, the vision slightly blurred from the fight. He had lost track of the girl, but the sound of something stumbling about let him know she had not gotten far. Grinning madly, he tightened his grip on the scythe and hefted his weapon as he began to move forward once more. He was going to catch her. He was going to succeed. He would not be pushed away from his work or the subject that was too perfect to lose…or at least that is what he told himself. He kept moving, following her trail a lot slower than before until finally even he could not continue to move.
“Why?!” he growled out loud before collapsing to his knees and dropping the scythe. The weapon, sensing its user’s will dying glowed and vanished becoming once more a bracelet on the creature's left wrist. The Void didn’t seem to notice as it remain quiet for a moment, breathing heavily. It was worn down and could not move. The cursed child was slowly beginning to win the mental battle, but because of the creature’s resistance the body was stuck inbetween the two. No one was at the wheel now except simplicity. The right eye slowly turned to a dark brown as the other remained grey. The skin began to gain back some of its color, but it was still pale and the nails still stained black. This inbetween personality was still dangerous, but at least not trying to kill for the moment.
The boy and the beast continued their fight internally, but outwardly the body was tired, but calm. It stayed still for a moment and then shifted slightly to the right and it let itself fall into a sitting position. The being present now observed the forest floor and the small flowers there as it simply listened to all around. It could hear the birds, the sway of trees…everything. It was peaceful here and a nice place to take a nap. After all, it was very tired; however, the being knew it could not sleep. Not without the boy or the beast in control, so instead it sat quietly listening until it finally realized the girl the beast was chasing was not that far at all. The being could hear her moving and in turn looked up spotting her a few feet away, standing still with her back to him as she held onto a tree for support.
The beast upon seeing how close the girl was attempted to push itself forward, but the boy had it in a firm grip now, so when it leaped, the boy weighed it down once more and the pair continued to wrestle leaving the body to continue existing in a neutral state. This neutral state was not malicious or innocent. It was simply a tricky blank slate that could flip easily to one side or the other. It’s only desire was to simply exist when it was alone, but with company around it did not like to be alone. It liked company, but the company here was already afraid making it hard to determine what to do with woman. The inbetween didn’t want to hurt the girl, but it did not want to call her over either knowing that this state of calmness wouldn’t last long, so instead it watched her for a moment longer pondering the options before speaking.
“You should run, Rosa. If you don’t, the beast might get you,” the ibetween being warned in a monotone voice that was loud enough for the girl to hear. Then with the words out, it became silent once more. It simply watched her with its odd colored eyes for a few minutes. Its expression was blank with a hint of exhaustion there. It’s breathing was still a bit heavy, but slowly returning to normal. It was like being faced with a machine slowly cooling down from a burst of energy. A disturbing stillness to those not use to it, but this stillness also gave those seeking to escape a chance.
The ball was now in the girl's court. She had to make up her mind now while the window of opportunity was open. Would she choose to flee or would she approach? Would she do neither and stand? What would she do?
For her sake, the inbetween prayed her decision did not take long for time itself was now her enemy. In time, someone would win the internal battle and that champion would determine if the girl would be safe or not... ____________________________________________

The movement of her arms inflicted some pain on her burnt shoulder, and she winced grimly. However, she continued to stare at D with wide and confused eyes. It was like D was fighting with himself, like she suspected, but it wasn’t a battle between D’s good side and D’s bad side. No, it was more like there were two totally different beings residing in one body. When this revelation first dawned upon Rosa, she first questioned her sanity. However, it was beginning to make more and more sense as the events came to pass. D was screeching with fury, asking Rosa where she was (no way was she going to answer that), as if there was something wrong with his sight. If one looked hard enough, then they’d be able to notice Rosa’s slender figure still resting against the tree, but this escaped D’s notice. However, when they first met, it seemed that his senses were in tip-top shape. Something happened in between, and now he was struggling to locate her. Though, this was a good thing, so Rosa didn’t dare complain.
Another shocking event began to happen. A growl came from D’s throat, and she narrowed her eyes, leaning in as she tried to find out what was wrong with his appearance. She gasped when she realized that his right eye was slowly turning dark brown. She glanced at his left eye. It was still grey. She cast another fearful glance back to his right, wondering if she was just hallucinating as a part of the flower’s defense mechanism. No, he had one chocolate-coloured eye and one faded grey eye. She didn’t notice the fact that his skin was beginning to change colour, but she knew that the eye colour transformation wasn’t the only thing that was different about D. She looked away, feeling a bit faint and light-headed. She wasn’t imagining things. It was only after this did the question really strike Rosa:
Who is he?
Obviously he wasn’t a normal human being. Something supernatural had happened to him that caused him to become what he is now. It was most likely some tragic, dark past that created this. Even though she shouldn’t have, she couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for D. Not the beast, but the original owner of the body that was changing colours right in front of her.
When she looked back at him, she noticed that he was now sitting in a rather serene position. He was like a doll; she assumed that maybe they were fighting for possession of the body. The situation was so weird to her that she had trouble convincing herself that she wasn’t insane. It had to be the flower’s liquids. It just had to be. Otherwise, she had a very dangerous and unstable being sitting before her. That was never good. However, she sensed no hostility coming from the body. That was good. On the other hand, there was no just intent coming from the body, either. It really was like an empty shell, waiting to be made a home. She dared to take a step closer for a better look, but jumped when the body chose to speak. When it did, her mind raced. Was it awake now? Was she going to die? Was he still evil, or was he a good guy now? However, the stress was for nothing when he spoke in an irritatingly monotonous voice. Rosa caught on to the fact that he was able to talk. Why, she didn’t know. But it definitely wasn’t the same person that was trying to kill her just minutes before.
Despite the doll’s warning, she shuffled a bit closer, the leaves and blades of grass rustling below her. He didn’t look harmful to Rosa, so she decided that he was a bit safer to be near. She was immensely curious as to why there seemed to be two people residing in one body, and she decided to ask a question.
“Um… I know I shouldn’t be doing this. I’ll probably be killed if the beast wakes up again,” she sighed, resting a placid hand on her chest. She continued, “But… I’ve been meaning to know.” She crouched down so that she was on the same level as the doll/human/D. “Why does… why does it seem like there is more than one being living in that… body?” she asked, her eyes inquisitive, although she couldn’t hide that curious glint in her eye. She was thinking that if the beast did appear again, there wouldn’t be any point in trying to run in her injured state, so she was trying a different approach.
She looked at the doll with unusual loving eyes, almost as if she pitied it. Having to share a body seemed like a terrible fate, and especially if those two beings didn’t share the same views. She sympathized with the situation, and then tried to do something that was totally uncalled for.
“You can do it, young man.”
This could’ve been interpreted in many different ways, but she was thinking… She was thinking that she could encourage the boy to come out, somehow. That he could overcome the beast. However, if this didn’t work, then she was in for a heap of trouble, and death would be coming to get her with open arms. She didn’t want that, but she had the strangest feeling to help the boy. Like a mother trying to help her disabled child, or somebody giving a beggar a coin because he pitied him.
Rosa stood up, unafraid, and took a few steps back, keeping her distance. If the beast did wake up, and her brilliant idea didn’t work, then she wanted some leeway. She clenched her fist, the tension of the situation causing her to be beside herself with worry. The different outcomes played themselves out in her head, and she wasn’t able to do anything but wait. If the beast woke up, then she would have to run like never before, but if the boy woke up… If the boy woke up, she wanted to know about him. To hear about his past, and what caused all this.

((It was an awesome post as usual. There was nothing cheesy about it and I am glad to see your muse was able to help you out with your post. ^^))
The inbetween sat quietly after its statement was made, watching the woman that lingered nearby. Its eyes were emotionless as it watched her approach, jump back as it gave its warning, and then approached again. The woman was curious, but whether this was good or not was left up for time to tell. Regardless of the woman’s approach, the doll did not do anything to attack her as it listened to the sounds around it and felt the wind against its skin, the grass underneath it and the leaves that brushed over its hands gently; however, it did not react to any of this as it simply watched the woman calmly. The inbetween state was always like this. A shell devoid of anything human. It did not feel or understand like the Void or the boy could. It was simply a body that could be beaten upon, insulted, and more without even flinching. It had a small amount of will power that allowed it to attack and defend if necessary, but this girl…she gave it no reason to react, so it stayed still as it used to back in the waiting rooms of arena or the room that used to be its home. Usually the being was left alone or with one of the scientists who found this unfeeling mode fascinating.
Always the scientists poked and prodded until either the boy or the Void reacted. Sometimes the stimuli used produced good results, sometimes it was bad, and sometimes there would be nothing at all. The inbetween did not fight back. Usually it was submissive to what was done to it, only fighting to save itself from death or injury, but never to harm those that ran tests on it or asked it to do things that should never be asked to be done.
The inbetween only wanted to exist and since the girl was not threatening said wish, it let her approach and listened to her as she spoke. When she kneeled down to become eye level with him, the creature watched her blankly as she spoke her question to no one in particular and out of submissive habit, the inbetween responded.
“It is not an illusion. We are two in one, but currently neither beast or man wants to share, so we are here instead,” the inbetween told her, the voice still monotone as it blinked slowly at her. It watched her gaze noting the different emotions playing there, but not responding as its doll like state remained plastered on its face. The eyes simply watched her like a statue would—empty and uncaring.
While all this happened on the outside, the mental battle on the inside was a nightmarish one. The Void was using every trick in the book to get away from the boy, but he clung to it and would not let him surface. The boy’s protective nature was stronger than the creature expected, making it hard to beat the boy back in the corner once more. It agitated the Void to no end and made it fight back even more.
“Give up!” the Void screeched at the boy with fangs bared as it tried to snap him in two.
“..No..” the boy grunted back, resisting the creature’s power.
“She is mine. My art work, so just back off!”
The creature turned into a giant snake and wrapped around the boy trying to force him into submission. The boy kept struggling wiggling to be free. “Why so persistent?” the creature hissed.
“Human lives…are not for you to toy with…” the boy said as he began to lose the fight. The beast smiled inwardly. Just a while longer and then he’d be out for the count! He was going to win! Yes! Yes! Ye—Huh?
The creature’s celebration came to a halt as the boy went limp in its tight grip. Had he won? He shook the boy slightly. The kid didn’t move.
Finally![/i] the creature thought reverting back to its normal self. Cackling, the creature did a victory dance around the boy, who laid in an unconscious heap in the mental scape. He was the champion. Yes. He was the best and now…
His celebration stopped as he heard the girl’s voice. She was trying to give the boy encouragement? Hehehe! Too bad he wouldn't hear and instead the woman was about to have death coming right at her. Grinning madly, he prepared to take over, but found himself halted as something heavy hit him from behind and slid through him. Confused and shocked, the beast looked down to see the tip of a sword protruding from its stomach. Thankfully, being on the mental scape meant no blood was present, but that still did not help disperse the shock or true fear of such an act.
While the creature was stunned, the blade was yanking violently upward, ripping the mental form of the beast in two. With a screech and curse, the Void vanished in a black smoke being knocked into sleep by the move. With the beast gone for the moment , Deshi stood alone in his mental scape feeling exhausted as he closed his eyes and let himself take back his body.
Back in the forest, the body had remained still and more or less oblivious to the girl’s actions; however, when Deshi took over again, the grey eye’s color shifted to dark brown as the skin became tan and the nails on the boy's hands reverted back to normal. The body slumped forward only being stopped as the young man moved his arms and hands to support himself. He was breathing normally, but the body shook as the boy remained looking at the grass under him. It would take a moment to get over the mental battle, but at least for now the girl was safe.
He…he had won because of her. If she hadn’t spoken when she did, he might’ve actually lost the battle and the Void would’ve indeed had its art piece. He thanked the heavens for giving him the extra boost needed overcome the hurdle, but now…now he had the girl to deal with, didn’t he?
He remained quiet in his position on the ground for a second longer and then slowly looked up at the woman. She had taken a position a safe distance away from him, holding her ground and awaiting results. As he looked at her, he took note of the wound on her shoulder from the fiery dark attack that had been unleashed, and the other damage done to her by the Void. He also noticed the exhaustion she too probably felt after the chase the Void had taken her on.
Deshi visibly winced before looking away again and back at the ground. He balled his fists up on the grass, agitated with the whole situation.
Deshi understood that he and the Void were two different beings, but they did share the same body. It didn’t matter if the skin or eyes were different. It was still him and that fact…that fact is what made coming back to himself after the Void had done something terrible so hard to do. Deshi couldn’t help, but feel it was still his fault…whatever the creature had done. Why? That was simple. It was because he had failed to stop the creature and failed to protect others from himself. If the Void killed, then it might as well have been said that he had killed too. He hated the feeling and wondered when it would all end. Wondered if he would ever be able to control himself again and put the creature to sleep forever. It was hard to say and right now, he could not be bothered with self-pity. He needed to remain strong and keep fighting until he found the answers to those questions, but for now there was the woman, Rosa to confront. So the thoughts of the future were put on hold as the man focused on what he needed to do next.
Deshi wanted to apologize for what had happened, but when he opened his mouth to do so, it was not an apology, but something else that came out as curiosity suddenly reared up, dulling his agitation a bit.
“Why did you stay knowing that the beast could've come back?” he asked, his tones no longer monotone, but instead tired, yet gentle, a signal he was no longer the beast and that the girl was safe now.
