Busy busy busy day. New people showing up, each new person a potential recruit for the Academy. This is what Hope wanted: people from different worlds coming together for a common goal. Being able to keep up with everyone and meet their needs. Hope just recruited Deshitana, and Beast seemed to be up for joining. As Hope as going to finish with Deshitana and Beast, another person walked in. An older man with ripped pants, no shirt, and seemed to be some islander. The man seemed to know the Beast on friendly terms. He seemed to be strong based on his build, so maybe Hope could recruit him too. Today was about to get busier with 4 people to attend to and one asking for a tour of the Academy. Well, Hope did like the challenge, and world do his best to recruit each and every one of them successfully. "Alright, 4 people. I ill handle each as best I can." Hope cracked his knuckles and then turned to Deshitana.
"Alright, Deshitana. It's great that you'll be working alongside us. Right now, Sora is out in the field, as is our Head of Combat. I can show you around, and where our Training Hall is. We'll get you situated as soon as possible." Hope then turned to Aya "I can give you a tour of the Academy, though there are some areas that are restricted to authorized Academy Members only. I'll explain more about that in a bit." Hope then looked to Beast and the mysterious man. Well, yes our building security is weak at the moment. We are low on Security members and dont have a Head of Security at the moment. We would like to request you join that team. I can show you around the building with this young lady." Hope would then look to he new man. "You know him? The yelling was a serious misunderstanding. He was brought in as a suspected monster, but I quickly corrected the issue, giving my sincerest apologies and more. I'm just about to give a tour of the building. I'd like you to join us. I'll answer any questions that you have." Hope then notioned them down a hallway. "This way."
Some people in scrubs were moving by in the hallway through rooms. "This hallway houses our medical bay. We keep Medical on the first floor because with protecting and helping the worlds come needing a Medical Department that isn't a hassle to reach in case of emergencies. We have specialized medics that go out to aid our combatists when they go out on missions. Our security offices are also on the first floor, though authorized access only. Our central world monitoring system is in a secure area of the first floor; also authorized access only." He would lead them to an elevator. "Second floor is our Combat Department, 3rd is Research and Intelligence. 4th is where all aircrafts are held and the lower levels are Mechanics. Sooo, any questions so far? Anywhere in particular you guys wish to see?"

Jecht looked over at Aya with an annoyed look in his eyes. Who was she to make fun of the way I dressed? There is nothing wrong with it. So I don’t wear a shirt big deal I like to show off my epic abs to the world. She should be thanking me for showing off my perfect body to her. I mean im the great Jecht no im perfect in every way imaginable. There is nothing wrong with me at all she must be crazy. I mean there is no way nobody could ever find a flaw with me. "Do you even know who you are talking to? I am the great Jecht star player for the Zanarkand Abes. Also there ain’t anything wrong with the way I dress, it’s perfect for playing blitzball in.” With a smile across his face he patted the beast on his back and said “Beast here knows that better then anyone.”
Looking down at Hope Jecht listened to what he was saying about to the other people about the academy. Then to what was going on with the Beast being here it was an accident. Jecht understood that people make mistakes he for sure made his share like when he attacked the Shoopuf. He followed as Hope motioned them to go down a hallway and talked about the medical center they had there. When he continued to talk about the areas he had in the academy the more he talked about it the more it kept sounding like hope was building an army here. It wasn’t any of his business what they did in this world it wasn’t his world or his concern what happened here. Eventually Hope lead then to an elevator.
Before stepping into the elevator Jecht looked down at Hope and asked him “I got a question whats the point of this stuff here I mean what are you doing with this place and all these people?” Jecht had walked into the room right after Hope had explained everything to the rest of the group so he was sure about the goals of the academy. Looking back at the elevator Jecht wondered how they would all fit. Between himself and the Beast they would take up most of the space in the elevator leaving everyone else cramped inside. Jecht didn’t care too much about that, but he knew others might complain about being cramped.

Everything was seeming to happen quickly and all at once to Beast. He'd never confess it aloud, but it was happening too fast for him. He couldn't process everything, and at that point focused only on what was immediately happening in reference to him. This Academy from the outside was clearly huge. Nothing to rival the size of the castle itself, but still something that was not to be trifled with or pushed aside as not worth the time. In fact, some might soon consider this academy a grand threat, and they'd need a defense personal capable of dealing with such. Beast had defended his own castle well enough, kept those who wished harm out aside from the instance when the heartless came in full bulk, but then he had been caught off-guard. Now he was more aware, more prepared. But could he offer defensive capabilities to this second world, on top of his own?
As if reading his mind, Beast noticed the Director speak to him and request him join the Security personal at it's head. He offered a tour alongside the ex-police woman, which Beast figured was something akin to a guard for a town, and nodded with a grunt. He would at least accept the tour and see this facility for what it was, then decide if it was worthy. Perhaps, if they meant to even protect all the worlds, he could work a deal with this Hope to set his own world as a priority, if nothing else than to help protect Belle. Though the Beast felt he could do so better than anyone else, there were things in these worlds that would be much more dangerous than he could imagine, no doubt.
They were motioned to follow in this large and awkward group, and Beast did so, trailing behind the others if only because of his size and bulk. Jecht had attempted to try and get a response out of Beast to inflate his ego even more, but Beast gave no verbal response. Honestly? Jecht was good, but his Son had proven to be better by not soaking in ego. Still, Beast followed Hope, listening as they went along. Medical to help fix people... good. Security and World monitoring authorized access. Smart, perhaps... though much was beginning to go over Beast's head at this point. The research and development confused the Beast, though Combat he understood. Mechanics too was confusing, but the prospect of aircrafts...? what even was that?
When asked if any questions, Beast spoke up after Jecht's question would have been answered, “Yes... what are aircraft...?” He would ask, wait for an answer, and then continue whether it made sense or not. “How do you plan to actually help protect the worlds and have Guards and Knights reach them? As little as I understand, no one seems to be certain on how to travel between them. Even I seem to be at the mercy of however I seem to be traveling.”

This was quite the crowd wasn’t it? A crowd that made the Void chuckle with joy at potential art pieces while Deshi wondered if they could really help him with his problem. Sure, he had Felix, but he really didn’t want to pile such a heavy burden on one man alone. No, he needed a bigger net to fall in, but would these people be able to help? Yes, he had joined the Academy and now had a job to do, but how reliable these people were in helping him was another matter entirely. Let’s take this one person at time, shall we?
Aya, while she was indeed a police officer and at first rubbed the mercenary the wrong way when reflecting her title onto his past experience with law enforcers, she was a lose canon that reminded him of Felix in a way, but he could already tell just by simple observation that she was probably going to be a different sort of hand full than the freelancer. For one, despite how neutral her face remained to his glare, he could tell by the brief locking of eyes how perceptive the woman was. She could play off her observations easily enough, but her eyes told what she knew. She had caught his glare and made a judgment, whether good or bad did not matter to the mercenary. As long as she didn’t give him any grief over it, he didn’t care what the woman thought of him. What mattered here was what happened now and if he’d be able to get along with any of the people present. In any case, after the brief stare off, Deshi had focused on Hope as he answered questions and filled Aya in on the blanks before offering her a chance to join the Academy too.
Deshi turned slightly to see the woman smirk at this before giving her answer that suggest she saw some gain in such an alliance, but was playing hard to get. An interesting tactic for those that liked to plan things from all angles; however, Deshi was quite the opposite. He preferred to be upfront with people and not play games. As long as the other party held up their end on a bargain or gave him work with enough challenge for the lack of pay, he would easily keep his end of the deal and if one were to betray him or fail…well, that was their lost. He wouldn’t be as kind the next time they sought help that was for sure. It wasn’t vengeance that drove this thought pattern, it was business and the way his life had been up until recently. You either did or didn’t. There were no in-betweens.
Anyway, the woman had given her answer and was requesting a tour of the place before she made the decision. A tour, huh? That would beneficial to him as well. It would only take a brief tour to map out the place in his head and then he’d be set unless something occurred to make him forget what he was taught, but he did not see that happening any time soon. In any case, the woman was about to come over, but stopped when the strangely tattooed man came in. In response to him, Aya had let off a ring of comments that clearly stated she did not like the way he looked and maybe not him either. Deshi wasn’t sure what caused such judgment to come from the woman, but he didn’t question it either. The guy did just come from out of nowhere and he didn’t exactly smell best either….but then again what traveler did? In any case, the smell of others were easy enough to get around. After all, one person would have to do a lot to top most scents that had come through the arena, so while the woman had a problem with the man, he didn’t particular mind him.
In response to her remark, the man (echt) took to boasting, rattling off titles that made no sense at all to the mercenary and did nothing to boost his supposed “fame”. To the words, Deshi simply blinked as he shifted his weight his left foot and placed a hand on his hip as he tilted his head slightly to one side appearing to become bored with the situation brewing. When Hope turned to address him, he locked his eyes on the young man and nodded at his words.
“Okay then. Thank you,” he said his tones polite, despite the business edge to them and then after a brief pause asked. “What’s the name of the one who is in charge of the Combat Department and where is this leader now?”
He gave the man a moment to answer and then went back to being silent as the man addressed Aya next. He told her he’d give her the tour before addressing the Beast, confirming that the security in the Academy was indeed low and asked if the Beast would take up a position in the Academy and help with that issue. From there, Hope turned to the last of the group and asked…him to join too simply because he knew the Beast.
Okay. Now wait a minute. Deshi understood that what Hope was trying to accomplish with the Academy would require quite a bit of people; however, he was surprised that Hope didn’t consider the dangers of letting just anyone in. While he was sure some were here with good intentions, there were others that could be here with bad intentions, but instead of checking out folks completely, the man accepted everyone and even offered them a tour of the place mentioning restricted areas they couldn’t get into unless you were part of the Academy. Dangerous information to toss out to someone just met, but Deshi supposed Hope knew what he was doing when speaking to the group, so perhaps he should just chill out and let the man do his job. He already was proving he could handle more than one person with ease, so maybe things would be okay.
In any case, Hope went from the issue of security to beckoning them over to the elevator as he began explaining the various locations of places within the Academy. Deshi listened to the names of the areas locking what floors they were on and so on within his mind so that his mental map could at least be started. He’d fill in the rest as he saw the actual lay out of the building. At least the first floor was covered, so onto the next. As Hope talked, the elevator that he had called arrived and opened up. Hope stepped in, asking if anyone had any questions before holding the door open until everyone got in.
Jecht was the first to ask a question. He was asking about the Academy…a question that had been answered more than once since Deshi had been there. He guess the man had missed the introduction to the Academy, so he braced himself to hear the answer again. He didn’t mind though. After all, this was a time to collect data so the more on the same page everyone was, the more they could move forward.
In any case, Deshi followed the group listening to what was being said, taking note that a lot of this stuff seemed to be confusing the Beast. Once Jecht’s question had been answered, the Beast would ask his own and through them Deshi understood the Beast’s confusion. The technology was more than he had to deal with in whatever world he came from and seems some terms Hope was throwing out were confusing him. He asked about airships before moving on to another question and a valid one too. Just how had Hope planned to implement his plan? As he questioned the overall goal of the Academy and even travel, Deshi simply listened carefully to how Hope would respond to that. As the Beast mentioned travel Deshi ponder that for a moment. There was no way to travel the worlds without the use of a device or Corridors….both paths were rarely used thanks to most people being oblivious to other worlds and so a question of his own came up.
“If you do have a method of travel between the words, how are you planning to protect those passage ways from those who might want to use them for malicious reasons?” he asked shortly after Beast finished. Regardless of what the answer was, he would come to a halt by the elevator waiting to see how people filed in before determining if he would get in or not.

It was a brief stare that lasted only a second but in that second she was certain she got across how little she cared for his bravado. On the other hand, he was pretty dense if he thought he could come back from the situation with such statements so maybe he needed to be told directly. Being blunt was always one of Aya’s strong suits and thus as she walked toward Hope she would place a pair of fingers against his lips while he spoke. ”No, I don’t know you nor do I wish to,” she started, releasing the pressure from her fingers against his lips, ”I doubt anything you say or can do would be interesting or impressive so please pipe down while the adults speak,” she added, proceeding toward Hope and nodding curtly to him as he began the tour. The first area they would be lead to would be the medical bay, Aya making sure to let her eyes examine the area as much as possible in the short span of time. While she didn’t plan to work in the medical team if she did join, it would be a good idea to be acquainted with the area in the event she ever got injured. Furthermore, she wanted to see just how lax security was considering they didn’t have someone in charge of that and Hope seemed content on giving out more info than needed. Indeed, telling her and the other strangers that the security was low was almost like asking them to ransack the place if any of them were unsavory individuals. Why he didn’t think of that was beyond her, leading her to believe that this “Leader” either had amazing foresight or was incredibly naïve. She hoped it was the former as she didn’t feel like fighting at the particular moment if things went sour and the latter would be far more beneficial to her. While I’m not one to normally take advantage of people if it will get me even a little closer to Eve then… she thought, her face briefly turning forlorn before she shook the thought from her head, I’ll sell my soul to the devil if I have to, anything to find her, she finished in her head as they passed by the medical wing and she had done her examination of the place. There were certainly a lot of basic flaws in the security she could see that stuck out like a sore thumb and even if she didn’t become the head of security she would note them. Indeed, if this was to become her new workplace she certainly would like to feel safe in it while she slept or did work whatever the case may be. Regardless, the group would then find themselves being lead to an elevator, the former officer quickly making evident her discomfort with the situation upon her face. Perhaps if they just had the smelly man with the big mouth they would all fit in there fine but with the giant hulking creature with the creative name… Well I said I would sell my soul to the devil… how bad can being squished in an elevator full of guys be? she mused, attempting to think positively but when she got in soon found her optimism misguided. Despite this oppressive atmosphere, it seemed the “Leader”, Hope, managed to find enough oxygen in the air to ask if there were any questions. A few were asked before Aya and thus she would allow them to be answered first but once she had a moment to cut in she quickly did so. ”I would like to check out the 3rd floor if you don’t mind,” she started, attempting to sound as composed as she could despite being squished in between far too many dudes, ”I believe my talents would best be suited there as I was a detective back when I was on the force and finding culprits and what have you is what I’ve always been proficient at. That being noted, I’d also like to mention that you may want to be a bit more careful the next time you take people on a tour of your facilities. While I appreciate the sentiment it never pays to be too safe and run background checks as any one of us could be a spy. I doubt your enemies haven’t heard of your organization already so it would probably be prudent to be a little more doubtful next time. In fact, the appearance of Beast over here could all be a pretense for us to get inside and tear it up from the inside,” she explained, not particularly concerned if Hope took offense to her crude way of speaking. In fact if anything she figured if this kid was smarter than what she had thought of him then he would take the advice to heart and see the merit in recruiting her. [/style] [/style]

The elevator opened up, showing to be rather spacious. It was able to accommodate them all without them having to be squished together. After everyone was gathered in, he would push the button for the 2nd floor before turning to them. "Alright. I will answer your questions one at a time." He would look to Jecht first. He posed a question that while there was a general answer, never was explained in detail. "The point of the Academy...Well if you know or not, there are enemies of fearsome power out there. All from different worlds. For one reason or another they are posing a threat to the many different worlds. Some are threatening the worlds for a source of immense power. Others just want to see the worlds suffer and/or die. Whatever their reasons, they are a threat that can't be ignored. There are heroes from different worlds, some know these enemies, some do not. With any one of these people who fight for the side of Light, travelling and fighting blind won't do anyone any good."
The elevator would stop on the second floor. Once everyone was out, Hope would continue. "We are a central station where these heroes can meet, share their information, and work together to counter these growing threats. Warriors training with each other, preparing each other to face the foes they will meet...Also, we hold events for our allies and friends to come and relax...taking a break from the battles to protect the worlds from harm. Even the strongest fighters need rest. We handle missions given by the public... He would lead them to the doors of the Training Hall. One thing that could be seen of the doors that they passed were that there were complex security locks on all of them. There were security cameras lining the ceiling.
When they reached large double steel doors, it would be noticed that there was not security lock on it. He would open the doors and lead them to a giant, empty metal room. There was a door on the far end of the room, security locked. Welcome to the Training Hall, this is where all training occurs. While it may seem like an empty room, the systems in this room are unlike any other. We've had several contributions in technology to form this specific room to make our combat members the best of the best." He would look to Deshitana who wanted to be in combat.
Hope would look to Aya with a serious look. "You had a question regarding our security. It may seem that I am rather lax when it comes to what I've been doing. However, with the systems I have set up in the Academy, you have all been checked and cleared by the system as not being a threat. And with the exception of this room, you're being constantly monitored. If you tried anything, you would be instantly contained until dealt with." He would then rid himself of his serious look and smile once more. "I hope that clears up why i haven't taken intense security measures with you guys. I will admit, that how we handle security on a person to person basis can be improved." He would look back at the room they were in. "I would love to give a demonstration of this room, but without combat specialists around today, I am afraid it won't happen today. Sooo, Miss Aya, you wanted to see the third floor right?"
He would lead them out to the hall once more. Turns and doors all highly secure. He would lead them back to the elevator. "Intelligence is a sub-division and is led by someone directly under my supervision. The 3rd floor is a highly secure section of the Academy. I can show you a couple of basic experiments, but other than that, I cannot permit you into any of the secure areas of the 3rd floor. If your adamant in joining intelligence, we'll speak in private after this." He would lead them back to the elevator. Once everyone was in, he would press the button for the third floor and look to Beast. "Airships are machines designed to fly in the sky. They have been redesigned to be able to handle travel between worlds. Aside from airship travel, we are working on a gate system. Allows for instant travel between worlds. While I can't give the details, I can assure you that they can't be used freely by just anyone." Hope would then look to Beast. "I think it'd be better to show you what an airship is rather than try to explain the complexity."

Jecht didn’t like when Aya placed her fingers on his lips to try to shut him up. Her comments made it worse. While he knew wasn’t the brightest person in the world he didn’t like people treating him like an idiot. Whats worse this girl was incessant on insulting him no matter what. He didn’t want to deal with her anymore, but at the same time he did want to see more of this place. He turned his head to her and let out a small huff of anger and annoyance at her. Jecht would keep quiet at what she had said to him and stepped into the elevator waiting for Hope to explain what the point of this whole academy place was.
It soon seemed like everyone else had their own about this place as well. The beast asked what aircraft were, Jecht knew a bit about them coming from Zanarkand a placed destroyed over a thousand years ago so he was surprised that Beast had no clue what aircraft were then again in Spira he noticed that they weren’t as advanced as Zanarkand so the same could be said of the world that Beast came from. The boy with silver hair asked about the combat department and about traveling to the different worlds. His questions about travel to different worlds didn’t interest Jecht at all after all he was completely content with his method of travel. However the combat department did interest him a bit it might be a good place to find a good opponent to match him.
As hope talked about what exactly the academy was and it’s goal was Jecht actually liked what he heard.Although hearing that more than one world was in danger made him worry about his son Tidus. Jecht knew that Tidus had become much stronger since he had last seen him yet Jecht still thought of him as a the little crybaby he once knew him as. Jecht would gladly join if it meant he could keep Tidus safe he had lost the chance to see Tidus grow up and had recently been able to see him once more he wasn’t going to let anything get in his way of being able to be with his son. Even if Jecht didn’t want to admit it he did deeply care about his son. Whatever was threatening worlds Jecht would gladly take it down. Besides taking down a major threat to not only Spira but many other worlds sounded like something fun to do, it was better than just wandering around with no real goal.
As the elevator stopped at the second floor Hope continued to talk and lead everyone in the group into a training hall area. Jecht noticed all the locks and cameras all over the place. Whats so important about this training place that they need to keep it all locked up like this? As they reached a large room Hope called it the training hall. Jecht was rather disappointed in it seeing how it seemed to be nothing really special at all. Hope said it was state of the art but Jecht had it’s doubts about that after all it really did just looked like a large empty room. Thats when Aya started to talk again Jecht really didn’t like what she was saying about Beast or how people were using him as an excuse to get inside of the academy. Jecht glared at her and was about to say something but before he could hope once again spoke and dismissed all her accusations about everyone here. Jecht still didn’t like what she said even after Hope talked to her.
Soon Hope started talking about the intelligence division of the academy. Jecht didn’t really care too much about that so he just pretended to listen as he followed the rest of the group into the elevator. Jecht waited for Hope to stop talking to ask him “hey after this tour is over mind letting me try out that training hall? I wanna see whats so special about it. I mean it looks like an empty room with nothing in it.” Jecht was going to leave this place after the tour and head towards another town looking for a beach. Jecht might come back to the academy later on after if he didn’t find anything else to do, but if he could try out the training hall it would stick around a bit longer.

So much was going on, it was beginning to give Beast a headache. He was glad to be put in the elevator that was spacious, though was still just a little confused by how it worked. Did it function like the ones within the castle all those years ago? Was that mechanical or magical? So much to think and so little the Beast could understand. He had been but a boy when he was turned, what could he do to understand all of this? Absolutely nothing, so as he stepped into the Elevator, he did his best to squeeze into the back against it’s rear, and then slowly sigh with his eyes closed. He needed to think. Hope right now was all he could really focus on, but this man, he liked to talk so much. As the Elevator rose, he answered Jecht’s question first, something that was very prudent. Why was the academy here? What point did it serve. Hope’s answer showed a Noble cause, but Beast had learned how noble causes could turn into less harshly.
The ‘Ding’ of the elevator exiting seemed to reverberate through the Beast’s ears, and made him wince. That was definitely a headache coming on from all that was happening. He was so used to just one or two people at most. Granted, Aya’s comments that he caught off hand towards his former teammate Jecht did make the creature chuckle and at least give a small smirk for a brief time, but the pain of the headache from so much information was prevailing. His animal brain could not handle this much, and what human version was left was having just as hard of a time coping.
Tech Tech Tech. So much talk of this technology. Trying his best to speak up while seeming less of a growling Brute, Beast would speak by the time they reached the Training Hall. “All this talk of technology… I come from a world where the biggest technology we have is Muskets for the Hunters. Please, pardon my ignorance in many of this,” he said, managing to not growl whilst speaking for once, but clutching his head all the while from the headache of confusion. Even the Explanation of the Security to Aya seemed to be too much for the Beast.
Though perhaps what got his attention the quickest was after they had returned to the elevator and he spoke directly to beast to address his question. At Hope’s explanation of aircraft, Beast’s eyes widened and his mouth dropped open. “You mean to Fly in the winds like the wings of a bird?! FLY?!” he exclaimed. There was absolutely no way in hell he would get into an Airship in that case. “If Men were meant to fly, we’d have been born with Wings!” he exclaimed again, unable to comprehend the idea at all.

Something was different about this world. Radiant Garden was known to usually be a hot spot of enemy activity, that being the forces of both the Light and the Darkness. New travelers arriving from their own home worlds came here whenever the Heartless came to claim. The latter was the same as usual. New faces springing up from time to time was nothing new these days. Whenever a battle broke out between the Users of Light and Dark, warriors from either side would show up and fight their hardest to reclaim the world in their own power. Sometimes the Light won. Other times the Darkness did. Either way, collateral damage was unavoidable. While civilians tended to escape from danger and remained unharmed, the buildings and surrounding areas were usually less fortunate. And this was why Radiant Garden felt different. There was a brand new building here... one that stunk of the Light. A new safe haven to some perhaps and an eyesore to others, there was certainly something about this place that would very well be a cause for major concern throughout the 'community' of the Darkness. Had this place been discovered already or was the incoming threat the first 'unexpected' visitor?
Time would tell.
This 'Academy' was gigantic... or so it seemed from the outside. Whatever was inside was anyone's guess... save for whoever built it. With that thought in mind, HOW was this thing built so quickly?? Possible magic spells or transported from another world much the same way a person was? How very bizarre... but whatever the reason, this place was certainly a beacon for the forces of Light to find and use as a stronghold. Information of all sorts was no doubt stored away under lock and key. Keyblades, the forces of Darkness, every world imaginable, fiends, Heartless... the list could go on and it no doubt did. So, action was being taken on a much grander scale huh? The war between Light and Dark that spread from world to world was usually the worst of it, but now with this place, the Light had somewhere to fall back. Somewhere to regroup and heal themselves of any damage to their health and stamina. How very interesting... Leading a direct attack on this place was going to be nothing but foolish... but what was the point of living your life if you weren't going to take risks? And what better way to learn of a new location then by exploring it yourself?
There were powerful auras moving about the building... it was a massive presence, but shifting and changing in subtle ways. Possibly a group moving around together? No of them stood out clear enough for a certain silver-haired Remnant to detect individually, but he could definitely feel the group heading slowly around this large location. Four of them...? Five? It was much too difficult to tell at this distance, so getting in closer was going to be work better. A smirk spread across the lips of the silver-haired youth as he pushed himself up off the wall he had been leaning on, his cat-like eyes looking the Academy over from a safe distance. A darkness of malicious intent embraced the heart that beat within his chest and the thought of someone strong being inside that building ahead of him was quickly causing the temptation to break in and explore for himself to grow every harder to resist. But he wasn't looking for a fight. This location was certainly very appealing and coming here looking for a fight would not doubt get an answer to his challenge.
Lifting up his right arm, the leather attire covering his body creaking as it tightened about him, Kadaj, Leader of the Remnants, placed his gloved fingers upon his neck. Tilting his head from side to side sharply, causing a satisfying 'crack' to echo about his surrounding area, forcing a couple of passerby's to glance his way, Kadaj cracked a smirk and took three steps forwards. Turquoise eyes glowed eerily and on the third step, the youth had vanished into a cluster of black feathers which fluttered down to the cold floor softly. Reappearing within the walls of this brand new location, a 'DING' from behind caused the Remnant Leader to turn around and watch as a set of elevator doors opened up, a bunch of Light Hearted heroes emerging from within. Allowing his smirk to widen from ear to ear, the silver-haired youth placed his hands behind his back as his cat-like eyes looked from one hero to the next. Hope, Beast, Jecht, Aya and Deshitana... None of them were anyone the Remnant recognized and this was much definitely and very, very good thing. Could one of these people be a match for him in combat?
Swiftly bringing his right arm out from behind his back, he raised his hand up and flicked his thumb over his shoulder, his eyes targeting and locking on Hope. His smirk grew wider and more disturbingly, darker. "Nice place you got here."

The situation between Aya and the one called Jecht did not improve. While Jecht tried to put her in her place with his fancy titles and what not, the woman gave the man a stare that clearly stated she didn’t care for what he was saying. After the stare had passed, she had walked towards Hope and the others, placing two fingers on Jecht's lips in an attempt to shut him up. An action the man did not appreciate one bit; however, the woman didn’t seem to care as she spoke to him.
Her words were biting and insulting as before; however, instead of responding back, Jecht simply turned away from her and huffed in agitation. Regardless of how edgy the situation was between them, they managed to settle down once the tour started. As they walked and Hope pointed out this and that, the mental map within Deshi’s head grew as he marked this area or that area as important, off limits, and locked by keypads or other security devices, etc. before focusing on the issue of the elevator and how everyone was going to fit; however, he found his worries were not need for the elevator was larger than expected, allowing everyone to fit in easily and comfortable enough.
Staying where he was for the moment, he listened to the question being dished out and then the request from Aya about seeing the 3rd floor as she explained her skills could be put to good use there before expressing the concerns that even he had about security and giving out information freely to strangers…using even the creature called Beast as an example of what someone might do to plan a surprise attack on the place. Again, Jecht did not appreciate this. He glared at the woman as she spoke the words. Deshi, on the other hand, remained calm and devoid of emotions as his focused shifted from the tense situation back to Hope, who had remained calm the whole time. Deshi watched as the white haired man push the button for the elevator to take them up to the next floor. Once the elevator revved up and began to make its smooth ascent , Hope faced them as he began to speak, answering each question in turn. First was Jecht's about about the Academy.
At first, Deshi thought that it was going to be another general answer like he had gotten when the question came up earlier; however, he was pleased to find he was mistaken as Hope decided to take the explaining a step further laying down more detail to the places purpose and filling in the gaps to a subject that Deshi had already become suspicious of.
He spoke of enemies with fearsome power, different worlds, and the threat they were before moving onto explain the opposite end the spectrum—the heroes. He explained how some heroes had been through this scenario before and in turn knew some of the enemies out there, while others like himself still had much to learn. Deshi simply nodded inwardly at this as Hope paused in his talking as the elevator came to a rest and the doors opened. Deshi followed the crowd out quietly refocusing on Hope as he continued on.
So this was to be a place where heroes could meet, exchange information, and find ways to counter the threats of evil in the worlds. On top of this, he wanted the heroes collected here to train with each other, learn from one another and in turn be better prepared to face off the foes that would come to threaten the worlds. And when they weren’t doing that?
"He gives them time to recover. Right. Appealing, but familiar no?" the Void asked in his head.
"A little, but at least we are not trap here," Deshi responded back mentally.
"We? Why include me all of a sudden?" the Void asked suspiciously.
"No reason." was the calm response.
"Vague as usual. I guess there really is no getting you to open to me is there?" the Void asked with a malicious grin.
"Surely, you did not start talking to me to have a heart-to-heart talk with me, now did you?" Deshi asked brushing the creature's games off.
The Void chuckled at that.
"Smart-ass, but you are correct. I didn't start yapping because I wanted a heart-to-heart talk. I started yapping because I am tired of hearing him yapping. When are you going to leave and find some real fun? I understand you’re working with these saps or what not, but seriously, they are cramping my creativity. Why linger? Especially when you know you aren’t a hero and that it is only a matter of time before I become bored enough to beat you down and make one of them art, hmm? We don’t belong here."
“Hmph,” the sound was a soft one that would only be heard by whoever was the closest to him and if that person were to turn, they might catch the brief look of displeasure that crossed the usual calm surface of Deshi’s face, but just as soon as the look came it was gone as Deshi’s eyes moved from Hope to observe the others reactions to all of this. For the most part, Jecht seemed more or less interest while the Beast seemed confused by all. As for Aya, it was no telling what she thought, but if she continued to be as wordy as she had been, he was sure he would hear or get some sign of her feelings on things soon enough.
Whatever the collected group thought, their kind host did not falter in the tour. As he lead them towards some doors, Deshi’s dark colored eyes traveled upward taking note of the security cameras that were lining the walls and then as his eyes came back to ground level, he noticed the locks on the doors they passed, each one made of the strange technology that the place ran on. Deshi nodded inwardly as the answers to his security concerns from earlier were slowly beginning answered by what he saw. Their host was smart, but he wondered if he was not too comfortable with this technology around him. Deshi was by no means an expert on the machinery, but he had seen what happened to those that relied on it too much. Always they fell hard. He knew…because he had caused some of those falls himself. It was never pretty, so he prayed that Hope was different. The guy seemed to have his Heart in the right place, so he’d hate to see him fall over a luxury such as technology.
Still he supposed all this technology helped to a degree. At least it would keep the less technology savvy out, while being a magnet to the curious…like himself, the Void, and who knew who else. A double edged sword….Hmmm.
In any case, his wandering thoughts were silenced as Hope opened the doors they approached and led them into a giant, metal room with a door at the other end with another lock on it, making the mercenary curious as to what might be back there.
However, he did not get a chance to ponder what it might be as Hope spoke about the area they were in.
The Training Hall, a room that appeared to be empty, but was really something else underneath. It was equipped with specialized technology and systems that not only protected, but helped train and make the best of the best out of the combat members in the Academy. It sound impressive, but until he could see it in action Deshi was unconvinced.
Despite this, he took in the room carefully before meeting Hope’s gaze as the man turned to him. He nodded at him in thanks for showing him the place before their eye contact was broken and the man was addressing Aya next. His tone and expression serious as he spoke to her.
The man set the record straight both clearing up and confirming what Deshi had feared earlier. The man was relaxed because he put a lot of faith into the systems that ran the Academy, leaving it to the machinery to do the work of checking people and also protect them. He even made the error, in Deshi’s opinion, to tell them that they were not monitored in this room, saying that the system would instantly contain them if they did something funny.
That was all nice and everything, but the words did nothing to stop the slight frown from forming on Deshi’s face. He didn’t care how high tech something was. If he didn’t figure out how to undo it through trial error or if given time to play around with something through curiosity, then the Void had its own creative ways of undoing what people consider to be flawless or impenetrable systems. Where there was a will, someone always found a way. Regardless of this, Hope seemed to understand that there were indeed flaws in the way things were being run. In fact, he admit that the security could do with some work, so that at least took some of the uneasiness away from Deshi, so he supposed he could accept this as okay. At least this little issue gave him something else to work with even if Security was not his department. If allowed he would definitely have some diversity in his work. Good. Now then, moving along…
After the explanation, Hope stated that he couldn’t give a demonstration of the room thanks to no combatants being around and while it was tempting to volunteer himself to take up the task, Deshi refrained from doing such a thing. There would be time to play after he had gained more information. In any case, it seemed the tour would be moving once more as Hope decided to grant Aya’s wish to see the third floor before throwing his offer for her to join out once more.
As the group began to move again, Deshi trailed behind taking note of how Beast seemed to be in some sort of pain. While nothing was physically harming the giant, Deshi remembered the creature speaking on how his world was not that advanced at all and that the people there hadn’t quite gotten past the musket. Muskets…not the most sophisticated of the guns, but still powerful enough to slow one down if the one using it could actually get a clean shot off. In any case, the creature had stated it was all a bit much and had even clutched his head when Hope did his explanation of the security in the area. So it was causing some form of pain in the head? Odd. Confusion never hurt him before, but then again perhaps himself was a bad example. After all he could not feel pain associated with headaches or anything else, but he could feel pressure, so maybe it was something similar? Hmm….
He didn’t know and didn’t ponder it too much as he kept an eye on the Beast that remained confused as they continued to move down the hallway passing the tightly secured doors once more, and back to the elevator. As he lead them, Hope spoke of the intelligence department saying how someone directly under his supervision ran the department and that the third floor where the department was located was a high secure area and how only a few things could be shown.
The more he talked about security the more Deshi wondered just how secure the place was.
"We should run test. See what alarms we can set off," the Void cackled in his head and for once Deshi agreed with the mischievous thought. It wasn’t that he wanted to cause trouble or anything like that that he agreed to run tests and push limits. No, quite the contrary. He wanted to perform these tests to see how well prepared the Academy was for outsiders…and people as dangerous or more dangerous than him. After all, Hope’s computers couldn’t tell him everything about a person and the Void for the most part had been good about not showing up outside of his thoughts. A blessing, but also a curse.
He was sure the creature would pop up one day and when it did, he wasn’t sure how well the Academy could hold up against the creature’s lust for “art” and its curiosity that made even his own seem small. He’d probably get in trouble for his tests and exploring, but he didn’t care. As long as this place was ready for anything he would suffer the consequences, but this little job was for later.
DING! The sound of the elevator arriving brought Deshi back to the present. Once more, he waited for people to pile in before getting on himself, taking a spot in the corner while Hope attempted to explain airships to Beast, who in turn found the idea outrageous and had no problem yelling about…within the small space of the elevator. The sound of someone yelling was enough to mess up the hearing for a bit, but thankfully not enough to ruin Deshi's hearing completely. He heard Hope speak on the gate system being worked on and how not just anyone could use them. To his comment about details, Deshi simply tilted his head, but did not protest against not getting anymore information.
“I see. Then perhaps I can see this gate system when you have completed it, no?” Deshi asked before falling silent once more, never letting on just how curious he was to see someone harness world travel within a device. In any case, there was a bit more chatting and then Jecht asked to see use the Training Room to see what was so special about it when the elevator had become quiet.
It was a valid curiosity and one that Deshi shared; however, before he could hear an answer the elevator dinged, and the double doors opened up onto the third floor and onto…oh what was this?
As soon as Deshi stepped out of the elevator and his eyes took in the silver haired youth in all black everything that Felix had told him about silver-head people came flooding back to him. He observed the man up and down as the Void automatically became intrigued by this supposedly strong warrior he should flee from. He certainly didn’t look like much, but then again neither did he, so that pretty little face of his could easily be a cover for vast amount of power.
He certainly seemed like the type to be able to back up the cocky attitude he was showing now; however, without proof Deshi couldn’t be sure what this guy did…and with people here it would appear his answer would have to wait for another time. This in turn disappointed the Void, but Deshi didn’t care as he ended his observation, his attitude becoming closed despite his curiosity about this guy who had for one reason or another targeted Hope.
“…Kadaj…” Deshi said softly as his eyes became steely. Then he was silent as he began to gauge just how much trouble this new comer would be. As he observed the new comer, he kept a position off to side of Hope that would easily allow him to defend his new leader if necessary from the silver haired man.
