Lilo pondered on the idea that there were frequent users of darkness who weren’t marked as a heartless. It made sense as another transitional option rather than being overcame by heartless. With her training, there weren’t any recording of people willingly tipping the scales to the point of no return. How long would it be before that THING becomes one as well? Darkness was all consuming after all.
“Then that would make your light very valuable to him,” Lilo replied grimly; it sounded like heartless activity to feed off of hearts to extinguished their light and bring forth more darkness. She watched him for a moment as he talked. Either he was always this calm and collected, or he was still fatigued from earlier. From the sound of it, he’s been fighting relentlessly lately before pursuing the heartless in the, “Corridors of darkness. You traveled through their realm, which I guess you can say it’s an infinite plane that has access to anywhere and everywhere to the point that space and distance are pretty much irrelevant.”
She borderline regurgitated textbook materials with a mere shrug, “I never entered them nor would I advise it. It can be a nest for them. You’re lucky then whether it was your light or not staying in there too long. Also if you need a first aid kit, it’s back there.”
“I, um,” she faltered, “didn’t conduct a thorough inspection for any cuts and stuff. I mean I could’ve stripped you down, but you’re so hot. Wait, I mean you WERE hot. YEP! It’s in the back!”
Her head jerked back, a bit too much hitting it against the head rest with a hiss. Social awkwardness was forever her trademark. Rubbing the tenderness, she wondered why he was ready to dive in for round two with the crazed red-head with the clear disadvantage. It made him looked like the athletes who never listened to their limits. After a wince, she opened her eyes to focus on the task at hand, piloting. Before she can ascend the ship higher, a wall of whipping sand was two miles away.
A small warning blinked passively below Luka's Navigation Display. Luka have additional avionics than typical aircraft and space crafts. Not only does it have a system to detect darkness (involuntarily heartless) activity, it has an archive of worlds to cross reference to depict natural phenomenon on unknown planets.
The ND etched an icon of Luka with on-coming wind currents and bright green particles heading their way. Below the ND was a grid of lights to show projections. Since the ship was voice activated, it rotated a model of Agrabah, but currently it conveyed animation of the sandstorm
Warning Sandstorm is approaching.
Sandstorms are meteorological occurrences in arid regions; they are caused by gust fronts. It’s unsafe to walk through due to lack of visibility and can cause respiratory complications. Do not fly in these conditions. Find a safe landing spot to avoid getting sand into the engine.
|
“Are you cursed for a series of unfortunate events, or we’re coincidentally hitting every pit we could possibly find in this dust bowl? You know what I think I wouldn’t mind the corridors of darkness right about now.”
It didn’t aid that these storms can occur and move at quick pace. Turning the ship around, Lilo was unsure if they’ll out run the storm fast enough or crash in the desert in the process.

Listening to her made him realize that she at least had some form of contact with the darkness. At the very least she had more knowledge about the matter than him. She spoke that the portal that he had entered was called a Corridor of Darkness and that it had the ability to transport a person anywhere, which explained how he was able to travel to the many worlds he had already. It was a useful tool, but Lilo spoke of the dangers that they could hold.
Regardless of the fact he still needed the aid of the Corridors of Darkness until he could find another more effective method of travel. He may have been a fool for taking such a dangerous path, but it was something that Zest was prepared to take. Surely there had to of been a leader of some sorts and should Zest manage to destroy such a leader of darkness then it was only something that could be of benefit. By diving into the darkness it only increased the chance of finding such a leader. So long as his light was strong and his heart unwavering there was no need for concern, after all his whole existence was for battle, to fight and to uphold the light. This was what he believed and what he would fight to prevail.
He listened to Lilo continue to speak on about other matters that did not pertain towards the Corridors of Darkness and raised an eyebrow in confusion as he watched the girl seem flustered at something she said. From what he had heard it did not seem like she said anything wrong, but perhaps this Lilo was a stickler for grammar and must have been embarrassed that she did not add the past tense in her previous statement about him being hot. Keeping an unfazed face, the warrior begun to think little of the matter surrounding Lilo’s flustered look.
The topic of actually treating his wounds had not truly come up in his mind with all the things that occurred and once Lilo brought it up the knight could only nod and prepare to head and tend to his words. He began to walk, but paused and stared over at the monitor that spoke of a sandstorm approaching. As Lilo had spoken, more misfortune had befallen them and the blame was sent to him. Perhaps he was cursed like the girl had spoken, but what he could say for sure was that Lilo was drawn into a matter that was because of him and she had to endure through it whilst he remained unable to do much. The blame was his, and he wished he could do more to solve it. “My…apologies…” Zest said closing his eyes with a calm and cool tone that always followed the knight, but also held a truly apologetic tone as well.

龍Dragon Shaman 巫 Are you challenging me!?
The dragon was beginning to enjoy his little escapade, but it would look like his barbeque would be cut short. As he stood on the flaming worm corpse the beast shifted his weight and turned his head to face the rumbling sounds that swirled about in the air. A storm was coming. Though the foreign fire breather was unaware just what sort of storm it was, it did not mean he was going to risk his uncertainty on a hunch. He looked around: first to his left, than to his right. It would seem the city was surrounded in totality by this stone wall, and it was with clear revelation that such a thing could only be due to the winds that were beginning to sweep up the normally calm sands from their vapid wisps to violent torrents of silk and scraping crystals. He raised his arm up toward his forehead to shield his eyes from the rolling plumes of sand. He had to make sure to call the being of light. He wanted to assure himself that it was worth hunting the man. What was the extent of his Light’s reach? Turning toward the wall, his boots barely holding grip on the now smoldering carapace, he would hold out his arms to keep his balance. Shifting his weight the large male would kick off the sinking fire starter and jump against the wall. His fingers dug against the rough, sun dried surface of the wall. His boots dug into any crevice it could find before he began to climb up, inch by inch. Heat cause a rivulet of sweat to wash down his brow and across his cheek. The heat was not the native environment of the dragon so it had its own complications for him as he was unable to rapidly process the massive swarm of heat that only caused his boiling insides to heat even further. He pulled himself to the top of the wall with one, final grunt of effort. He turned to look behind him a the worm set fully ablaze, offering a clear signal fire to where the trouble was about to begin. In the distance the clouds rolled in at a greater speed, dragging with it waves of sand like the sea forming foamy waves of blue in the stead of these golden sheets that only did well to thicken the sky with silt. The darkness that rose with the cloud of sand filled the dragon with authority. He could not test the Knight’s power directly. That metal machine was also quite a pain, but as they say: let us kill two birds with one stone. He reached to his hip where hung a strange charm. It was a round curl of bamboo wrapped with strong to make some sort of miniature dreamcatcher. Hanging from the dreamcatcher were a pair of feathers: one white and one red. He pulled the charm from his belt, which caused a snapping sound to clap from the air. The snap slowed down and rattled like a guban echoing on a clear night. He held the charm overhead as the shadow at his feet began to grow outward. In a flash of light a small creature erupted from the Shadow in a blaze of light and glitter. A long silk tail resembled the mane of a full grown lion. As it somersaulted through the air it would land on the ground, in all its glory. The tiny creature was brimming with Light, a holy energy pure and completely opposite of his summoner. The tiny creature looked around before it circled a few times and turned to face the larger man. Fai held out his hand and called for the summon to strike. The shishi inhaled deeply and released a spray of Holy Fire onto the smoldering pile of worm carapace. As the darkness rolled over the desert the Light from the small creature shone its brightest. With so many worried hearts gathered to hide from the impending storm: the single beacon of hope called to the denizens of the Darkness. Heartless began to swarm the area, in particular a large Pot Centipede began crawling around, its voracious appetite something that could not be deflected with ease. Fai looked up toward the sky and grinned. He recalled his avatar and jumped off the wall and into the city. Hopping obstacle to obstacle he would make his way to the bottom where he would await his opponents. " Let us see just how powerful his target stands." He chuckled as he fell back into the panicking crowds.

Lilo’s chuckle rose to a giggle, “I was only kidding; there’s no need to be sorry just patch yourself up. I’ve been through worst. Plus, hurricane season trumps some sand any day.”
Lucky for them, Luka has been running enough to go full power. A green bar blinked on her screen for the a-okay. It was typically necessary to get out of the world’s atmosphere, but they wouldn’t be able to ascend upward fast enough to overtake it. It would be silly of her to try to calculate all of that now. The worst case scenario was putting them endanger, get sand in the engines, and crash landing from a great height that would severely lesson their chances of survival. They can sit tight on this world for a while; avoiding that CRAZY would be a perk at this point.
“Time to pick things up a bit,” pushing a lever up, Luka picked up speed with a hum. Sand churned up behind her into clouds as it veered towards the world’s capital, Agrabah. It helped put some distance from the storm, and who knows if it will remain in the desert or charge forward to the kingdom. The ride was smooth with a few bumps here and there, but as the city can to view, she had to slow it down for a proper landing. It would be rough with the sand; sand and wheels don’t coexist fairy well. So she would have to slow it down to a hover to descend rather than a rolling stop.
From a distance, she saw smoke, and as they flew closer, she can see a long silhouette rippling with the heatwave.
“Is that what I think it is?”
It was pretty big, and the last thing she saw that huge was the monstrosity she crossed earlier. It’s long burning body rested against the city wall with a long trail coming from the desert.
“Hey, I think we got a big problem on our hands, and it’s not-“
Instantly a bright light followed. She couldn’t hear an explosion, so it was a bomb. A single beacon rose in the same direction, which only concerned her more. Was he taunting and calling them?
“…it’s not on you, but I think it was meant for you.”
She was able to slow down Luka before they were too close to the city. There were any spacecrafts here, and she didn’t want to start confusion by being the Prometheus of this world. As the ship hovered to land, she looked back at the knight in concern, “We have to do something…all of those people, but you’re not alright to do this.”

Picking up these “jokes” were always something that the warrior had much difficulty with. Sure he had improved from where he was when he first heard of these jokes, but there was still a lot more that needed to be worked upon before he begun to understand any form of joke. Regardless, it showed that Lilo did not hold a grudge against him and was able to at least talk to him in a carefree manner, something that pleased the stoic knight a bit. In response to this joke, Zest merely gave the girl a nod before turning towards the back room that Lilo had spoken of earlier. Tending his wounds was a priority at moment and with the first aid kit available, Zest continued with his trek towards it.
The ship seemed sturdy enough and the storm did not seem to be much of a problem for Lilo, so he was confident that he would at least be able to relax for a bit and take the time to heal without worrying about what would occur. Finding the first aid kit was no trouble and Zest immediately began to open it up whilst staying a not too far distance from Lilo in the off chance she needed his assistance. Most of his upper armor had been removed so the knight begun to remove the black body suit that covered his upper body. His heavy armour had done its job in protecting him but the wounds were still pretty deep. Travelling around in armour most of the time really helped build up his body tone, but even so it felt nice to have it removed for once. Having spent so long in the blistering heat, it was relief to feel such coolness. The knight began to wipe his wounds clean and begun to wrap the bandages around his bare chest, but upon hearing Lilo say she spotted something caused the knight to tighten and tie the bandages across his chest before walking back to Lilo, curious about what had occurred.
Standing by Lilo’s side, Zest calmly stared upwards at the screen and watched as the city was in peril. “He wishes to draw us in…his determination is strong and relentless…” Zest said closing his eyes for a second before starring over at Lilo. “You are right, we cannot abandon the people…they are in need of assistance and I cannot turn a blind eye towards it” Zest said as his stern face softened for a bit. “I appreciate your concern, but I will be fine…I’ve managed to tend to my deeper wounds and gained enough rest ever since you brought me here…” Zest said. He was stubborn and needed much more rest, but he couldn’t falter now. Zest’s gauntlets appeared cover his hands and arms and in tow his shield and sword reappeared in his hands as well. With the scorching heat becoming a problem, Zest chose to leave behind his chest plate, pauldrons and helm in order to both increase his speed and reduce the heat. Without hesitation, Zest walked off towards the exit of the ship intending to leave and join the fight.

陰 Dragon ☯ Shaman 陽 Can you see through the mist!?
Citizens of the sandy, desert town began to panic as the fires began to consume the walls. The crackling pops and groan of the burning Worm carcass pressed against the sandy wall only added to the terror with auditory sensations. The gates had been sealed with the impending storm from the desert to keep the tides of silt from washing into the markets and drowning the streets in dust, but this would, in turn, keep them trapped with the growing fire. It was not long before panic ensued and the natives began to scramble. The presence of the Heartless did not help in the matters, forcing them to retreat into their solid, stone homes for safety. When the beast landed from his jump he could hear the roar of the flames as they began to smolder, the sands starting to buffet the walls. The soles of his boots had hit the sandy surface with a solid pound and he would stand in a crouch with his arms coming to rest over his knees. After a moment a cruel, dark smirk drew itself upon his features. It would not be long before the storm was on the city. Though the winds and sand may choke his fire, he only sought their panic. With the Heartless now roaming the open street and the Pot Centipede gathering forward mobility it was not long before they started stalking through the markets and cornering those unable to escape. The shouts of fleeing inhabitants of Agrabah and the wails of unwitting visitor was music to the shaman’s ears. These were the cries that would call the Light and summon, hopefully, the greater fiend of Shadow that lie in wait. It was a simple plan, but one that carried a greatly complicated end to a means. He would not allow the Heartless to catch their prey so easily. The Titan, for such a big creature, could be rather mobile when necessary. The beast made sure to knock down stalls before the Shadows reached their prey or drop vases from high above, startling the Pot Centipede from their prey. Agrabah was the perfect place for a climber like him with the various houses stacked on top of one another and walls of goods stacked for climbing. The game provided him with a hunt, one that would hopefully allow him to find that which he searched for. He knew that Heartless were lured by hearts, but the purer the light the more powerful the Heartless that were summoned, seemed to appear. But he knew that it was not always easy to lure the right one. The stronger the heart, the greater the beast, but was it possible to capture the attention of the one Heartless that consumed his brother? He had to find someone that was strong enough and risk their lives in order to bring back the one life that had meant everything to him. As he stood upon the lip of a roof, looking down as the confused Pot Centipede scurried around in circles he would pull his arm to settle over his eyes as the Sandstorm slammed into the city walls, buffeting the ancient barricade with eroding scrapes of sand and wind. Looking up he could see billows of dust and fire as they ensued in an ancient battle of superiority. The elements were natural enemies and natural allies. At times they warred and fought for supremacy over the lands, but in other cases they combined and unified into hellish disasters that showed the predictability of man held no power when fighting o to be the greatest, because in the end the elements always won in their unpredictability. Even now as the storms battled the fire, in the stead of being blinked out of existence the sandstorm only took the fires into it and became a deadly firestorm now thrashing against the walls. The beasts lips curled up into intrigue as the tables were beginning to turn into his favor. Perhaps it would be worth it in the end after all! The stage was nearly set. The Heartless now roamed looking for prey they could not reach, haplessly bumping into obstacles. The Pot Centipede would coil itself up in a corner and wait to ambush prey, looking like nothing more than a bunch of pots settled together. The Titanic beast stood perched a bit aways from the walls, crouched on the roof. He would wait for their arrival. Would Light prevail today, or would Darkness succeed?

“Hey!” she yelled out, “wait until I’ve landed, and I’m coming with you.”
She disembarked away from the entrance, so it would lure attention. On her feet, she grabbed all of her necessities; the backpack was lighter with water bottles. She didn’t want to crack her tablet out there; this wasn’t the time for documenting. She still wore the attire she’d bought from Agrabah: the airy pants and shirt with a wrap to protect her nose and mouth from the sand outside. Holding her hoverboard to her hip, she grabbed a few more things.
“Here you may need a pair, and I don’t think you’ve drank anything since everything.”
Zest obtained water bottle. Zest obtained goggles. Zest obtained bandana. |
“It’s the best I have for this situation, so tied that around your nose and that for your eyes. We’ll be stepping out in a sandstorm. The worst case scenario: it may take some time before the sand cover the worm to douse the fire,” Lilo informed, while putting her pair of goggles on, “If the fire have enough fuel, which it would because big dead worm, it will only turn the sand into glass. That may not sound like a big deal, but with high winds involved; that can’t be good, so let’s be quick getting there kay. And we won’t be leaving by the side exit.”
Lilo moved over to circular pad in the middle of the room; she used the transporting system when she brought him here. Beckoning him with her hand, she ushered him before calling, “Alright Luka take us down.”
…down into the sand, into the storm where chaos whipped. Down to where they’ll have to travel on feet running on unsteady ground, while the winds pushed against them. Down to where they head towards the tall double doors, the gates of the city. Down to where they can hear the screams and cries, and when Lilo looked over, she can see the glow of the pyre. The world, this city, was drowning with a fiery glow and a dark dusty overcast.
“Ready when you are,” her twins guns were in hand. There’s no going back at this point. With a push the door creaked upon, but with the storm it made it give easier spilling the sandy debris into the city until the door was closed shut.
With each step she took, Lilo sprinkled rain like the sandman. With a hard shake, she rained down most of it. Most of the townspeople were gone; it was almost empty except for a few stragglers and shadows. Personally Lilo anticipated something far worst.
“It feels off. Doesn’t it?”
Shadows weren’t a big deal. Lilo was even hesitant in wasting any plasma on them, but she couldn’t let them roam free to haunt people. With a flash of green, she aimed and shot at one.

Meeting Lilo out here in the desert truly was a stroke of luck for the warrior. It was obvious that he wouldn’t have been of the living if it wasn’t for her, but not only did she help him survive, but also provided much needed help for him in this endeavor. He was quite grateful to the girl and repaying her was going to be more and more difficult, but something Zest felt was deserving. For now he chose to focus on the battle at hand as time was not on their side. As he was inside an air bourn vehicle he could not tell the status of the villagers of this world Lilo called Agrabah.
Receiving the items that Lilo provided him, Zest immediately took a sip of water from the water bottle he was provided. His thirst was great, but even so he only took a little of the water, planning on rationing the rest in case of emergency. The blackened body suit appeared around the rest of his body and covered his chest in order to prevent any sand to enter his wound and with the items Lilo gave, he immediately placed the goggles over his eyes and bandana tied over the bottom half of his face.
Without a word Zest joined his companion and together the two of them were transported towards the raging sand filled land once more. Together they stood by the door that would lead into the city and glancing over towards her he gave her a nod before opening the door with her. Once in there they were not welcomed with the innocent cries of the civilians, but instead greeted with an eerie silence that did not signal a good sign.
Together he walked on with his sword and shield grasped tightly in his hand. Were they too late? Had the townspeople already fallen into a terrible fate? Or perhaps they were hidden, hiding from the threat and danger that befell their city. Lilo felt something wrong and Zest could say he felt the same thing. “Yes…I feel it too…” Zest said staring forward at the shadow heartless that roamed the area. It was no real surprise to see the heartless being here, they were beast that were drawn by the darkness after all. Zest still wondered what had caused the beacon of light that shone from the city, but that was something that he would have to figure out as he moved on.
“Let us keep our guard up…He may still be around here ready to strike when we least expect it…” Zest said as he swung his sword horizontally. Upon doing so six glowing red swords formed in front of him and pointed forward toward his prey. Swing his barbarian sword once more and pointing it straight at the heartless, the glowing blades immediately dispersed, flying straight at the remaining shadow heartless and attempted to impale them all. They were a minor enemy that needed to be dispatched. He could not leave anymore danger for the villagers…not while he was around.

陰 Dragon ☯ Shaman 陽 Can you see through the mist !?
The beast was on the hunt, marching along the walls like a serpent through the sand. His fingers gripped the walls with ease, the environment differing little from the craggy mountains of his birth. His gloved, left hand raised up, palm held toward the back of the knight's head. The pair had come in, the storm now pummeling the walls he perched upon, the great arch the perfect ambush point, as the winds and sands were to his back. The fur that lined his torso wrap whipped against the testing winds, face and eyes shielded thanks to its cover. His lips curled back as the armored Light Wielder and young woman stood ready the combat the Heartless the rose amidst the chaos. They were too weak, but if he encouraged the knight to fight with all his heart, there was a chance something big might show up. Though the woman seemed ordinary, her grasp of weapon and transportation technology was overwhelming and far exceed his basic understanding of the capacity of a human's drive to invent for war. Though she was a formidable presence, from his limited contact with her, she had a strange manner that was not in the ordinary ways of thinking. Her quick wits and adaptability were humbling.
The knight showed evidence if Light in his heart, but the beast had never seen a being of pure Light, at least none on the plane of the living. The knight could have darkness in his heart. Doubt always left room for question and he much doubted a warrior could stand as so arrogant as to not question himself in the face of his own weakness. All he needed was a victim. Turning his eyes toward where the Pot Centipede waited in ambush he shifted his weight to run across the walls and hop his way down the narrow edges of the closed and sealed window shutters.
The dragon would feel a chill crawl up his spin, causing him to cease his sudden approach. He staggered in place, barely managing to hold his footing between a pair of wooden knots protruding from the stone walls. Turning his head he would only catch as spears of light erupted from the ground, skewering the small, Shadow Heartless before casting them into oblivion. He knew the knight was strong, but the power that poured into that light was monstrous. Maybe he had no Darkness in his heart? The Titan had to rethink his strategy. With the girl's long range weapons and the man's piercing light spears he was at a greater disadvantage than he had previously calculated.
He would have to take special care with his next actions and hope that heroes likes to hear themselves talk just as much and villains. After all, striking an unarmed man was a deplorable act of war, especially if he was surrendering. The dragon would continue to descend from the high walls of the stacked homes. The soles of his boots hit the sandy ground with a twisting crunch as he hit the surface. A billow of sand kicked up, as granules of the substance seemed to trickle from the fur of his wrap and his fiery, red hair. He pushed to stand to his full height, arms raises and palms facing forward in surrender.
"Do not strike, he is unarmed." He would claim.
A smirk marked his features with a clear lack of remorse. His brows were raised and head cock in a confident manner, as if he had nothing to fear. The beast held no pity for the state of things as they were. If they became this way, it was due to the fault of man and the fears that fed the Heartless drive to seek their weakened spirits. The beast had landed just in front of the pots, the waiting Pot Centipede would not strike until his pot was jostled.
"You two have caused quite a mess." The dragon blamed. "Here he was, enjoying the sunshine after a harrowing experience with the cold." He turned his eyes always, amber orbs tracing the walls for escape routes.
"You, knight, are quite the challenge." He admitted. "At first he thought it was the woman, bit no... it is actually you and that negative heart of yours summoning these beasts... Such a shame that your presence is such a -- trap!" The beast pulled back his lips in a grin, snapping at the air as he staggered back, bumping into the pot.
As the pot seemed to fall back, the Titanic beast kicked back off the ground toward a cloth awning that hung overhead. With an annoyed rattle and hiss the collection of pots sprouted legs while the head was protected in the main pot. Unlike Pot Spiders, Pot Centipedes were much tougher and often had to be struck on their bellies. Pot Centipede: 5 HP

“But why,” all of this felt too puzzling and discerning, “why does he want you so badly? It’s just odd you know, that he’ll do all of THIS just to lure you in. It feels way too elaborate, and this isn’t even the climax or end-game.”
What’s the angle?
Zest said he doesn’t know him, and yet all of this felt too personal. Was there something she wasn’t seeing? Lilo strained to recall what he said earlier. That guy, if she should even consider him human, utilizes darkness, whose main purpose could be to prey on the light. It was common knowledge that everyone had light and darkness within them. So what was so special about him, the warrior, to go through great lengths to conquer? Was he important? Was his light that strong to be a magnetizing beacon, or was she over-thinking motives?
Maybe I’m giving that thing way too much credit.
She couldn’t implore and dissect Zest about his history and background; the stakes were too high to distract him with inquiries, and doing so would easily put her guard down and make her a burden. It wouldn’t be a compliment to say Zest was very capable and efficient; it was the truth as far as she knew. He carried it in his silent resilient sturdy persona. The heat just got to him first with exhaustion after intersecting that worm twice.
It buzzed in the back of her mind: how did someone become like that? He was quite stoic. Her lips pursed wishing she can find another word; it sounded cold and aloof, yet he wasn’t. No, he wasn’t excessively cheery and open. Could she add ‘forthcoming’? He was so quiet, and her cheeks burned in embarrassment in how much she chattered. It made her wonder if she was an incestuous chatter box or did traveling alone for so long got the best of her. It wouldn’t surprise her if all of her first impressions made her look batty. And yet he didn’t bat an eye or displayed annoyance to her; he was resilient indeed.
Everyone had their stories and a fortress of layers. Would they simply part ways after this, or would she be able to uncover more?
Seriously Lilo, you’re being unprofessional just focus on the task at hand.
Even though she can get busy herself with speculations, Lilo was an avid in multitasking as she scanned the area for any sudden movement, “it would be hard to strike when we’re least expecting when we are.”
It was boiling up. Everything evolved with tension. Hearing a thump, she instinctively pivoted with pointed guns. Her narrowed focused eyes widened recognizing him. His arms raised in surrender, which only made her frown. This wasn’t making any sense.
“Do not strike he is unarmed.”
“I don’t ever recall him being armed,” she whispered lowly. She wished she can charge up her guns now; she bit down on her lips conflicting with her instinct. The risk was too high, and this wasn’t even the end-game, but she wanted to end this soon before it escalated to high. She didn’t like waiting to respond and being on the defensive for too long.
She wasn’t like this at all. The more he talked, the more she didn’t like him. The young woman knew he wouldn’t care, but it only tempted her more to pop a hot one in him. Is this what they called “monologing”, or would this technically be a soliloquy?
Through gritted teeth she growled in frustration feeling too antsy; it was reflected in her voice, thick and harsh, “What do you want?”
He was gazing up the walls. Was he ignoring her? Of-course he was; he was after her; he was after him. Her eyes shifted for a moment in time at Zest. Her brows dipped in concern, while rethinking.
A negative heart
It didn’t feel like him unless she was imposing what she wanted to see. No, no, she had to focus; something was off, and something was coming. Distracting her would only play into his hands, claws.
But she wouldn’t have to wait long. It was quick before he was elsewhere, up there on the awning, but she couldn’t keep her eyes on him. Something hissed and rattled. Hearing multiple clatters of leg made a chill run up her spine to an itch. It looked like a giant bug made out of POTS!
“Well, there you have it your unexpected,” her voice was exasperated, but it softened when she regarded him, “hey, be careful. He may try to pick you off in the heat of this.”
Side stepping to her left, she moved from Zest’s side to get a better angle at the thing. She dubbed it a Pot Centipede, so much for creativity. She didn’t hesitate in firing for shots at the pot behind its head targeting in the center.
“I really need to get a bigger gun.”

Cold and calm deep blue eyes continued to scan the area, looking for any form of life in the slightest. A single movement was something that would immediately make the warrior spring into battle, but it was too unnerving. If the beast attempted to draw him into this city then why did he not immediately spring into battle? Was it because a sneak attack was something more attuned to him? Or maybe the beast was not after him, but instead sought the innocent people that lived inside this town.
He could not let the man continue this destruction, he needed to end this quick before his wounds started to get the best of him. He could not say why exactly this beast desired to get to him was so great. Had they met in sometime in the past? Had they known each other before he lost his memories? No…this man felt to foreign…was it something to do with his light? He could not say just what it was about his light and where he had gotten it, but even so it was something that was precious to him. It was warm and soothing, yet powerful and radiant. It was all that he had inside him and it was something he would uphold. He would defend the light, but he would not let the light blind him. What he followed was his own path, a path that he believed was right. The thought of losing this light he held, it made him feel empty as if he was a mere husk. He wished to spread the light so that people would also be able to appreciate the light just like him.
His body immediately tense and the very moment that the red haired beast has made his appearance, the grip on his sword tightened as he immediately pointed his blade towards the man and narrowed his eyes as his cold eyes stared at him. What was unexpected was that the man claimed he was unarmed, but Zest hardly believed such a thing as he had seem the man use his fist in combat. A trap was to occur, it was something that Zest was prepared for. Should he slash the man now? Or perhaps that was what he was expecting. His sword still drawn and pointed at his enemy, he listened to the dragon speak of nonsense. He spoke of him having a negative heart, but Zest would not falter before an enemy. If he was the cause of this then he would cleanse the mess that was caused with his presence.
In a swift movement Zest immediately watched as the man immediately jumped backwards while knocking a pot down in the process. Instantly Zest attempted to dash forward in pursuit of the man but came to a halt the moment a strange heartless appeared. At the same time as Lilo, Zest leapt towards the side and prepped his sword and shield as he saw the opponent. Listening to Lilo’s words, Zest nodded as he dashed towards the opponent’s side “Make it a swift victory….offer him no chance to retaliate!” Zest said pointing his blade to the ground swung upwards, closing one eye as he endured the pain. With his action multiple pillars light burst forth from the ground heading towards the centipede. A pillar of light burst from underneath the centipede, but it did not stop there. The pillairs continued to bust from the ground and headed towards the red haired man, attempting to blast him from underneath.

陰 Dragon ☯ Shaman 陽 Can you see through the mist !?
The Pot Centipede was not one of the most delicate Heartless. It was brutal and a voracious consumer of hearts. As an Emblem Heartless its creation was a forced, mechanical process that brought a stolen Heart shape. This shape happened to be one of a centipede that looked to have combined with smaller Pot Spiders to gain it's monstrous defenses. The large head and wriggling antenna, on both ends, were dangerous features of the Emblem Heartless as its bites could easily be overpowered by the electrical volt that coursed through its respective feelers. It turned toward its prey, of which it assumed had knocked it over and sprung the ambush. The Titanic beast was starting to understand why his partner in crime was able to control them so easily. One had to have the mental and physical strength to harbor command over the feral consumers. Though the dragon did not lack in the physical department, his mental faculties often leaned toward doubt when it came to his abilities. He knew well he was still lacking in training. There was much he could not also and may never learn to do. But the test was successful and did not end up with him being a target of the Heartless, again. That had totally sucked! The beast pushed to his feet, balance unsteady thanks to the cloth surface beneath him having difficulty holding his weight. There was that feeling again. It was a chilling sensation that caused his visible, red hair to stand on end. He had reached up his long arm to grip at one of the wooden protrusions that had provided him a foothold earlier. He could hear sounds of combat below, but they were not directed toward him. He turned his head to peer over his left shoulder as he wrapped the bare fingers of his right hand around the wooden knot. Something wasn't right. The Pot Centipede would charge the pair like a bullet train. With its head low to the ground and that snapping mouth poised at its prey, it would consume their hearts with joy, (had it the ability to feel joy in any case)! Lilo's blast only served to singe the pots harboring the dark insect's body. It did well to do almost nothing to damage it or halt its charge. It was not until Zest's Light attack struck the underside of its belly that sent it barreling over and separating a bit from the rest of its body. It was a might disturbing how the head was able to move independently from the rest of its body, but Emblem Heartless were unnatural creations of a stolen heart, rather than one simply consumed by a Pureblooded Heartless. Its feelers began to wave wildly as the sturdy body moved to rejoin the separated head and exposed tail end of the Heartless. It charged its antennae with the white sparks of electricity it used to stun prey. While the tail went after Lilo, and the body chased the tail, the head was about to go for the Warrior of Light who was a greater distance from the head. It was not until the dragon turned his focus to the battle that he saw the arc of Light spear for him like a wave if death. Painful, ugly death. Light did not sit well with the dragon, considering he was a entity of Darkness. Before the obscenity could leave his tongue the would try to scurry up the wall, but this wall was flat and a sheer vertical climb. It had little to grip in terms if notches and edges. The Knight's attack would graze the left side if the dragon's arm causing a shout, mixed with a screeching roar, to escape his throat. His weaker, right fingers would lose grip of the wooden knot and the beast would fall backwards. Because of his weight, when he hit the cloth awning it would not be able to hold him. With an unpleasant sounding riiip, the dragon would sneer and roll his eyes. The exasperated groan that began to form was left unfinished as he fell clean through the cloth surface. The cloth wrapped around the beast as he fell with a most painful sounding thud. Groaning the Titan rolled to his knees, shuffling out of the fabric, whole left side left with the feeling as if he had fallen half way down the mountains. When you were the smallest of a pair of mischievous dragon twins you 'fell' a lot more than you fell. When he pulled the cover from that fluffy mane of his he would now be standing (more like kneeling) face to face with the head of the Pot Centipede. The crackling electricity only added to the static that had his hair ruffled. He moaned in annoyance. He knew what was coming next. Heartless did not care if your Heart was light or dark. If you showed weakness they made sure not to miss the chance to snap it up. The Centipede's head let out a sharp hiss before it struck the dark dragon with its electrified antenna. Already sore from the fall and singed from the Light attack he was not amused to have to add electrified to that list. With pain surging through his body the beast reacted as fast as he could to defend himself from the now close ranged Heartless head. With a roar the beast began to shift and push to his feet. With a hiss of darkness, which swirled around his body, a red glow surrounded his face, arms and chest. Forming over these spots where plates of, what appeared to be, metal plates. Scales of plated, red armor painted itself on his chest and over his arms while a more intricate design drew itself over his facial features once again revealing something that may have not been quite human, but the magic that seemed to spread over his form brought to question if it was a spell similar to Stoneskin, or advanced technology summoning armor over his form like those superheros in television shows. Whatever it was, it was quite flashy. The fall had done well to injure his left arm, the scales over that arm coated with the darkness that had been covering his form. Now it was focused over his left fist. The annoyed and pained dragon pulled back his fist and sent a solid Void Punch into the jaw of the voracious Heartless. " This is yours!!" The red dragon roared and pushed enough force into his strike to send the Head right toward Zest, the creature chomping through the air with its electrical antennae wiggling about. She really needed to make an investment; with her earlier exploration, she didn’t carry her pouch of munny. Still it would be a tad inappropriate to call a‘timeout’ and run to a vendor requesting for stronger artillery only to realize it’s empty. The citizens practically boarded themselves in their homes to avoid the Beast and the heartless he called.
She slanted eyes glared at the lone singe spots on its clay exterior.
FLASH!
Even with the sand dusted goggles, the light was flaring bright. An arm shielded to create some shade. As it died down, she pulled the goggles over her head to rest at her hairline. The Pot Centipede squirmed on the floor; it was in pieces and still moving. This just looked like a horror flick or a day of high school biology with a dissection lesson.
While it was delayed trying to reassemble, Lilo grabbed her hoverboard that was partially sticking out of her pack and dropped it to the floor. With a beep and hum, it activated and began to hover before hitting the ground. Turning her head to assess the situation, she saw the butt come for her. She grunted as she jumped on the board and swiftly secured her feet before zipping around it.
Come on Lilo think of something.
Her thumbs dipped to change the settings on each gun. One she had to click around to get. Leaning against the board, she slowed it down to be momentarily stationary. Although it’s body followed her, she was able to stay paces ahead of it to face it’s sides.
With the right Mark, she shot two gravity orbs. She wasn’t aiming dead on her targets, but slightly above it. One black orb zipped right above the tail end before cracking open unveiling a black hole, pulling it off the ground closer to the eye. A similar orb cracked open the center pot of its body. She knew she had a time window.
One left.
She delayed for a fraction of a second changing her mind. She emptied out her left Mark firing four consecutive shots at the tail. Blue plasma balls were constructed to hit and splatter on contact to widen its surface range. It stung and frosted over like ice. The body shouldn’t be as troublesome as its tail; she can deal with that one later.
Her thumb clicked on the right Mark knowing she would have to do some running around after this. At its exposed underbelly due to the gravitational pull, she fried her green plasma shot.
How did that say it at home? Come at me, bro?
All the shots are gone. Oh noes

My strength is one with the Crystal.
His attack of light had managed to wound the red man, making the beast cry out, but Zest was far from done with him. The man chose to flee and found his guilt thus for Zest this man was one that he chose to dispatch. The beast had begun to unwillingly descend from where he was, falling down towards the ground, but not seemingly having taken much damage from it. Zest once again prepped both his sword and shield in preparation for the upcoming bout but there was the question of who to face. The dismembered centipede was still flailing about proving to be a troublesome enemy that needed to be eliminated as soon as possible.
From what Zest had seen, the centipede’s head had seemed to be intent on taking care of him, while the tail which held some life to it went after Lilo. Choosing to believe in Lilo for the time being and preparing to help her if any sign of trouble occurred Zest had to decide whether to finish off the centipede or deal with the one who called the heartless in the first place. His decision led him to choose the red haired man; however this was interrupted in a mere instant. The heartless that Zest had believed was on his foes side in turn chose to attack the red haired beast. Was the man too weak in order to fully control these heartless? Or perhaps the heartless were something that could not be easily controlled to a person’s whim. It would have been a fitting end for the man to be devoured by the beast that he summoned, however Zest would not underestimate the man in the slightest, knowing that this man could take well care of the severed heartless. A mysterious armor formed around the man, covering him with what seemed to look like a powerful and durable outfit. Moving about unnecessarily was something that was not wise for Zest due to his wounds and chose to take a fighting style focusing more on countering with quick powerful blows whilst moving less. With most of his upper armour off this helped as his body was not heavily held down, but even so it made each of his moves more crucial as he could not afford to get hit. He silently watched prepared as he watched the man immediately punch the heartless over towards him, sending the electrified heartless flying straight towards him.
There was little time to react but Zest was ready. Placing his sword in his left hand which held his shield as well, Zest raised his shield and tightened his grip on both weapons as well as held his stance on the ground as well. Closing his eyes he awaited the sudden collision of the heartless’ head and the metal shield. Immediately upon the contact Zest’s body tensed and held firm before Zest reeled his right arm back and opened his eyes, narrowing them. “I reject your gift” Zest said coldly as he released both shield and sword with his left hand and immediately thrust his right palm into the back of the levitating shield and sword, releasing a burst of light from the front surface of the shield that would blast the heartless head.

陰 Dragon ☯ Shaman 陽 Can you see through the mist !?
The hind end seemed to be working on a mind of its own, following the heart that stood a bit away from the bright knight. Lilo looked to be easier to catch, but the backside was quickly proven wrong when it was put on ice. Even with the porcelain shell that covered its dark body, the ice cut through the man-made hide with ease, but it was not yet enough to deter it! Just before its crackling tail was able to reach the dark-eyed kahuna with the deadly blaster it would take another shot, but this time miss! But it was not that lucky. With no mouth to screech out as his opponent the half a Heartless would find itself suddenly crushed by gravity. It’s body, or at least what remained intact, was pressed against the sandy earth and crushed. The Centipede’s hind end was taken out easily by the Plasma blasting space surfer, but now they had an adolescent dragon to contend with. With the Knight and Shaman playing volleyball with the Centipede's head they both seemed to be preparing to stand off against the other.
When Zest bashed away the head, it would vanish in a burst of darkness and the light which the warrior expelled. The dragon stood in the partial covering of armor. Since it was only on his chest, arms and legs he was not weighed down, nor was his mobility reduced. The plated armor was a shining red with edges of gold. It was a majestic coloration, on to be expected of a hero to wear. The passionate and wild red of a warrior did not at all seem to suit the man who wore Darkness like a skin. With his fists pulled up, after the forceful punch of the Heartless' head. The dragon was trained in martial arts, so if push came to shove the unarmed dragon was as dangerous as any armed opponent. He would ignore the injury pressed onto his left arm. In the best case scenario it was simply a bruise from the awkward landing.
"How rrrude~." He growled out, huffing out a plume of smoke.
The Titan watched as the warrior shift his shield and weapon in physical rejection if his gift, but there was something else to his actions. The dragon growled and clenched his armor covered fists, which ended in deadly looking claws of gold. These claws increases the physical damage his pinches and slashes were capable of rendering.
His amber eyes narrowed as the hair on his neck stood on end again. Before he was able to realize what his body was telling him, the light began to form on the shield. He had no choice but to meet Zest's attack so he could counter with one of his own.
He pushed his left foot against the found. "This a shame such a host for Darkness refuses to take it back!" He would roar and charge forward.
There was no way he could dodge the already formed spell, so all the dragon could do was go long for the charge! Red and black swirled over his body as Darkness began to swallow his entire form. The sheer amount of dark that blazed across his forward rushing body caused his form to distort, almost vanish behind the twist of shadows. Using his Void Tackle the dragon shaman would rush through the Light, minimizing as much as he could by bracing with his own Darkness. It did not stop the light, but the darkness gave his body a strong enough shield to repel more of the deadlier force of light. Reaching out his right hand, he would hook the claws over the edge of Zest's shield. Using his rang, pain and forward momentum he would spin around, using his Martial stance to spin him around to force a backhand blow into a hopefully exposed side. The dragon's strength was inhuman so the grab was not without an unexpected lurch of the shield.
Lilo was not forgotten, but her distance from Zest made her, as an opponent, without immediate priority. The dragon grinned.
"He was not expecting Heartless to show up here. The knight has done a wondrous job summoning them." His eyes narrowed as that shark-like smile formed on his face. "Or did he somehow think that... this one called them? Hoo?" The beat chuckled.
He wanted the warrior to doubt himself and draw out the darkness, if any, that hid in the knight's heart. Darkness born of a heart filled with light was far more valuable to the dragon. It was purer and filled with more power.
