Genesis' initial reaction to her rather childish act was rather hilarious and the dark keybearer was rather amused by the result. To think that it would be the Crimson Commander who would lose his temper after two very childish and immature actions after trying so hard to get her to snap and try to fight him with mere words. Smug though not showing it, ‘Artemis’ was secretly relieved and glad that Angeal was there to defend her from Genesis’ as if he had already known about his fiery temper. While the burly SOLDIER faced Genesis, her own legs soon gave in on her and she fell onto her knees. The dark keybearer quickly stabbed her blade into the sand ground in front of her. It wasn’t stable due to the sand’s tendency to shift its shape and lack of firmness but at least the blade was sturdy for the moment. She rests her head against it, not realizing that she had again cut her forehead with a nearby thorn from her own Heartsickness, and closes her eyes for a few brief moments. It was fortunate that the poison doesn’t work on its wielder and that Genesis had stomped over to the other side of the beach so she was safe.
It would have appeared that ‘Artemis’ had dozed off and would have fallen completely asleep when Angeal’s voice brought her back to the present. Startled, she perked her head up and blinked at the look the 1st class SOLDIER gave her. Confused and forgetting what she had just previously done to mock Genesis in what felt like hours before, her expression seemed to have asked Angeal ‘Huh? What? What did I do?’ The dark keybearer didn’t realize that the cut was bleeding, dripping down her forehead and still unaware of it. She hadn’t felt it at all. She mentally agreed with Angeal that the sooner the better, especially with Genesis’ temper most likely boiling.
“My name...is...Artemis...and I…I wander from world to world…Killing Heartless mostly to preserve the balance…Between Light and Darkness.” Her tired, faint voice betrayed her current state. Not surprised that he had picked up Genesis’ bad habits nor was she surprised that the Crimson Soldier in question never told him her name, dark keybearer had only added the last bit after learning from Aqua and Master Xehanort that keeping the balance was a keybearer’s purpose but even she didn’t know it that was the truth so she gave him that answer because it was what she knew.
Hearing Genesis’ inquiry, the exhausted Nightmare glanced at him with suspicion and paranoia. Why would he ask about my homeworld…?[/color] She sighed and muttered under her breath likely not for any normal human to hear but the two SOLDIERs likely can. “Stupid… Idjit question…” ‘Artemis’ spoke up a bit louder then as she looked up in time to watch the star go out. The full meaning of the dying star hadn’t quite reached her just yet. “Of course….I do….Who….Who doesn’t?” The dark keybearer then realized what the star’s death meant but she was so focused on fighting against the sleep she desperately needed. The Heartsickness keyblade suddenly disappeared from its place in front of her causing Sera to fall forward and promptly landing face-first into the surprisingly soft sand. ‘Artemis’ had blacked out, given in to sleep.

Despite the world being covered with a layer of Darkness, more so about it's core then over the entire physical world itself, this place was indeed still a very calm and relaxing world t stand upon, especially this place here upon the beach. The waves crashing against the shore seemed to calm the SOLDIER more over then most other known solutions. Whether this was because the crashing waves reminded the Crimson Commander of his home, Banora, was unknown. It should be noted that it was Genesis' actions that lead to Shin-Ra bombing the quiet, harmless town into a fiery, smouldering ruin. The Dumb Apples burning into ash, the mansion in which Genesis grew up in, the fields and streets in which Angeal and Genesis played together in, the caves and cliffs upon which they both made the decision together to join SOLDIER. The soft voice carrying such a question aimed for the Keybarer should perhaps have been asked of the Crimson SOLDIER himself. Nothing more was thought of it when the winged female spoke up in answer to the Burly SOLDIER.
The tall collar of Genesis' coat creaked as he glanced over his shoulder, bright blue eyes flickering in the dim light as he looked over his old friend and his persistent rival. Her job was to maintain the balance between the Light and Darkness? Was that not what Cosmos had asked of the auburn-haired man the first time he set foot upon these strange new worlds? The most divide aura of the gorgeous goddess Cosmos, accompanied by the presence of royalty in the form of Noctis. He remembered the day well, he remembered her words well. But it would appear he was not the only one sent out to sort out the balance of Light and Darkness throughout the worlds. But surely there had to be more to it then that? 'Artemis' felt too stained, too submerged within the Darkness to have any good intentions towards the Light... but then again, the same thing could be said of the Crimson Commander himself. So were her words true, or was this just something being said to get both SOLDIER's off her back?
The soft shifting of sand indicated that the auburn-haired man had moved. Having turned around after hearing the remark about his question, a steady and focused glare was locked upon the winged female that quickly turned to an amused expression, a laugh escaping his lips as bright blue eyes watched a winged woman collapses face first into the sand beneath her. Leather gloves clapped against one another as the Crimson Champion applauded the Keybarer's defeat to her fight against her lack of sleep. It would be so easy to summon his Rapier now, cast a spell against Angeal to get him out the way, before plunging the blade through the Keybarer's chest, ending it all for her. But her words of preserving balance seemed to linger within his mind and thus he held his hand from doing anything he could possibly come to regret in the future. Instead, the shifting of sand emerged from the SOLDIER First Classes direction once more as he begun to walk away from the ocean, heading for his old friend and the Keybarer asleep on the floor.
Once he caught up, Genesis glanced down at the awkward position 'Artemis' slept in, before peering at the raven-haired man next to him. "... Can't hardly leave her like this, can we?" Genesis' tone was soft and poetic, no hint of malice nor provocation to be heard at all. Glancing up towards the cliffs, shrubs and palm trees away from the ocean, Genesis nodded his head before pointing a finger towards a location that seemed to be protected from the wind and offered shelter from above. Looking down, Genesis' leather attire creaked as he knelt down and gathered up the Dark Keybarer within his arms. A concerned look was sent to his old friend. "Gather some firewood and meet me over there, would you? I have a feeling we ought watch over her until she wakes." Taking a second to look into the eyes of his friend in case he had something he wished to add, Genesis soon moved away from his friend, carrying the sleeping Keybarer towards the cliffs. Upon reaching his destination, the Crimson Commander placed the winged woman down carefully before he leaped up into the air, his enhanced SOLDIER abilities allowing him to scale the palm trees without effort. Up here, he snatched two large palm leaves from the tree before landing back down a short distance from 'Artemis'. Throwing one of the leaves over her body as a blanket, Genesis rolled the second up and carefully placed it under her head as a pillow.
He didn't expect nor want praise or thanks from the Keybarer. He just wanted her to be back at full strength as soon as possible.

Artemis; An odd name, for an equally strange girl.
Angeal had noticed her fall to her knees in the sand, but approaching her so quickly seemed … invasive. After all, the last time he’d stepped too close to the girl, she had attacked him. She wasn’t causing herself any real harm by sitting still in the sand, no matter how uncomfortable and exhausted she seemed. A few quick questions, grab Genesis, leave; that was the plan. He felt the need, the urge, to help her in any way he could. It was in his nature, after all. However, the honorable Soldier drew back those urges to keep the girl speaking and comfortable, as opposed to attacking him in an exhaustion driven daze.
Glowing mako eyes observed the girl as she answered him in her ragged state. He listened intently, but his eyes could only seem to follow a bead of blood that dripped down from her forehead. Angeal frowned, but nodded in understanding. Preserve the balance .. That was something he’d heard before, and not exactly what he’d been hoping for. Artemis, as she called herself, seemed much different from the other keybearers he’d approached before now. He thought, possibly, she fought for a different cause. Were any other questions worth asking? Now, he wasn’t entirely sure.
The attention of the situation was switched back to Genesis, as the star above them flickered before disappearing entirely.
Home…
Angeal stared at his friend’s black-winged back, feeling his heart shift in his chest. The Crimson Solider hadn’t mentioned that only to try and get at the girl, had he? While he couldn’t see Genesis’ face, the honorable man had a feeling, a very distinct, tugging feeling that his friend was thinking of the same thing. Of Banora. The place where they were raised, met, became the best of friends … A small, cozy town that made due with their dumbapple trees and one small plant. It was almost picturesque, really. Angeal held nothing but fond memories and feelings of his hometown in his heart, however, that town no longer existed. He had fled from Zack, from the conflict, before the bombs had dropped but … He had witnessed the devastation from nearby, he had forced himself to walk in the burning, ashen aftermath, blaming himself.
Yes, Angeal and Genesis both knew, very well, what it was like to lose a home. Even if, at the time, they had both felt very differently about it.
Genesis turned and began to laugh softly, and the raven haired man wondered momentarily what he was chuckling about. Though, barely a second later, he heard the shifting of sand and the collapse of a human body. He quickly turned, slightly alarmed that the girl had simply passed out; given into the exhaustion and sleep deprivation that had plagued her. Conflicted blue eyes glanced from Genesis to Artemis one last time before Angeal moved from his spot to the girl’s side. He bent down to rearrange her as she slept, as Genesis walked up to them. This was no peaceful rest, and the burly Soldier couldn’t help but pity her. She was much too young to suffer like she did.
Angeal nodded as Genesis mentioned that he should fetch some firewood for the trio. He didn’t feel entirely comfortable leaving Artemis with his old friend, but .. Genesis’ twin, glowing eyes held no malicious intent. He stood as his friend bent down to gather up the girl, and Angeal turned to find some wood for a fire. There were many trees around, so it wouldn’t be difficult. After taking a few steps away from the other two, he pushed off the ground with his worn boots and spread his wing, feeling the cool, salty air whip across his face. A quick trip to find some firewood and clear his mind was exactly what Hewley needed.
It didn’t take long for Angeal to gather enough loose wood to use for a fire. Before long he had returned to the cliffs where Genesis and the sleeping Artemis were, and had safely started a fire for the three of them. There was no magic involved, nothing but elbow grease. Hewley prodded at the dry vegetation he’d used to catch the initial spark coaxed the fire to spread over the drier wood he’d managed to locate and pile together. As the flame spread, Angeal was reminded, again, of home. Not as he watched it burn down from the ShinRa issued attack, but from a childhood memory of Genesis and himself camping.
These memories were starting to hurt more than help.
Angeal sat peacefully near Artemis and the fire, eyes watching the passionately burning blaze with no real thought. He glanced at his companion for a moment before looking away, feeling, again, as lost as he had before. What purpose lie out there for them, now? Hewley had so many questions that continued to go unanswered. He wasn’t sure how many more of them he could take.
What he needed was a distraction.
Angeal rose and picked up his broadsword, which he’d stabbed into the ground while setting the fire. He looked back to Genesis, the request in his eyes, honestly, probably enough to convey what he desired. In case it wasn’t, however, honorable Hewley grappled with his desire to walk straight over to his old friend and grab him by the collar to instigate this spar, and instead opened his mouth to speak his request.
“Grab your rapier.”
… Well, for the most part.

As soon as the dark keybearer had hit the sand, she had lost all awareness of the world of awakening. ‘Artemis’ wouldn’t hear Genesis Rhapsodos laugh at her succumbing into sleep or feel her body’s position being rearranged so that she didn’t accidentally suffocate by the sand and carried to another location. She didn’t know that the cut on her forehead was still bleeding but would be slightly aware of the warmth from the fire Angeal had made. She wouldn’t be aware that she was using palm tree leaves as a pillow and blanket yet unconsciously shoves away the leaf being used as a blanket. Instead, the keybearer shifts her position so that she was sleeping on her side and with the sound of the fabric of her cloak ripping as a single ebony wing lazily stretches out from the cloak and her back then wraps itself around her as a blanket to replace the palm leaf she had shoved away moments earlier. Angeal had been correct; this sleep that Selena had succumbed to was no peaceful rest.
It shouldn't to be too hard from to figure out that the winged girl highly disliked sleeping based on this scenario alone. Sleep left one vulnerable to the elements and the unknown and Selena hated feeling it. She would likely hate herself for passing out like that as her defeat to slumber had made her vulnerable to both SOLDIERS. Although the keybearer wasn't sure of Angeal’s motives, she had been wary of Genesis’ motives. The Crimson SOLDIER could’ve used the opportunity to finish her off and be relieved of one less contestant and rival for Phil’s tournaments in order to remain Champion. Whenever “Artemis” woke up, she would be definitely questionable as to why he didn't take that opportunity to strike her down.
As Angeal challenged the Crimson Commander to a spar, the Nightmare slept a restless sleep. The sound of the ocean waves and the scent of the salty air did help ease the tension but not by much. Selena dreamed a nightmare of her own, one that only existed in her past and the indefinite future. Her ears heard a symphony of the screams and chaos of her fellow villagers the day the darkness and the Heartless appeared on her home-world and the gunfire that ended a precious light. From her nine-year old self’s point of view, she watched amongst the chaos a Shadow Heartless dig a single claw into the chest of a nearby villager and yank out his Heart before crushing the fragile thing in its grip. Suddenly as the dream shifted, Selena’s sight then remembered the darkness of a corridor that over took her and swept her away to another world, her first world outside of Hope Village, where the peace and tranquility that existed there would later disturb her greatly.
Her dream had turned into a blown-out nightmare despite her physical slumbering appearance showed no signs of this. It was a habit that she grew over time. Angeal was also been correct on another thing; Selena “Artemis” Wolfsong had been too young to suffer the way she did and the memories that did come with it, they hurt more than help.
[OOC: Genesis and Angeal both have my permission to skip my turn for a couple rounds since Selena is asleep. ^^']
