It wasn't like the ones she had recently visited. Not with the grimy state that this town city was left in. A pair of dusty onyx eyes panned through her peripheral view, taking care to walk towards the side of the deserted mason crafted roads. Her boots clanking slightly upon the bricked road, which was bathed in the grime of neglect over the course of years of mistreatment. Emblem's bright white coat was about the most prominent color mark in this very grayed out world, which she couldn't help but shake off a shiver for being in the area. An area that had been consumed by the massing of heartless. The end state that people hired her to prevent.
It was a reality check to be sure, for now Emblem had a visual cue of what could happen to a society overran by the spawn of the seekers. The girl knew she could not blame the creatures for doing what they did. Somehow, she even sympathized with the Heartless. They only did what their instincts guided them, and that was to feed. Like empty husks, trying to satisfy that void with a endlessly driven hunger. Their gleaming yellow eyes were iconic to the black blobs, and terribly easy to pick out in this nearly monochromatic setting.
"Yet none of you bother to come out and bite? Just what got you so cautious for?" the merc muttered to herself, clanking her gauntlets one time out of annoyance.
This disturbed her more than it should. She could deal with them stalking type of predators pretty easily, as well as timid types. These heartless though, they simply watched her. Like spectators, awaiting a show of sorts. Gathering to witness an event, but to never partake in it themselves. Heartless weren't supposed to have strong cognitive processes...were they?
All the thinking made her more and more riled up. The heart of the maiden told her to calm down, but the current ego acted otherwise. She didn't have that patience, nor that mentality that there could possibly be something fishy going on in this world. So what would a pre-teen girly do when she's upset and is in dire need of a stress buddy? Something is gonna get hit.
Spinning her heel around high, she dropped it down with considerable force. Emblem's trained body could emit a strength that was unusual for one of her age, such as that elegant heel explosion axe-kick upon the beaten brick road. The force was substantial, which was a mark of a maiden's ire. That's what an author would write...right?
In reality, without the flamboyant descriptions, the girl simply did a pretty fierce stomp onto the ground. What happened in reaction though, was the surprising bit. Emblem had expected resistance from the brick road, but there was a slump in ground where the impact was. She knew that while strong, her strength wasn't to the point of cleaving earth...yet. That could only mean one thing:
"Great. I also gotta deal with unstable grounds too? Why don'tcha toss in a boss while you're at it huh?" Uchitel Emblem complained, rather peeved at the given circumstances. "I bet I don't get any good lookin' guys to help me out in case of trouble huh? Some fanciful quest this turned out to be."
At least the pay would be good. After all, hunting down this weird...'whatever' in a equally bleh place named Blank Valley couldn't get any more monotonous. Emblem hoped it couldn't.
-- Passive -- Mixed Martial Arts: The undefined style that is what the user makes of it. Through physical fitness and training, the combatant is significantly more versed to handling hand to hand situations than a typical unarmed foe. Mixed martial arts, while free flowing, does focus more on practical usage of skills in a fight, and is not nearly as structured like traditional arts such as Xiaolin Kung fu. Uchitel is disciplined in the following with familiarity:
- Taekkyon: The niche with a lot to prove in this diverse martial art world. Shadowed by the sporty Taekwondo, this style is the original form before infected by the Japanese influence. Korea's lethal kicking art still focuses on mid-long range dominance with powerful leg work, but does not aim for the flashy reverses that its successor teaches. Technically Emblem's weakest style, but Taekkyon has all the things that Taekwondo did not. When mixed with Shotokan, the ability to deliver various chambered kicks without the need to switch step allows for less telegraphed power shots to the limbs; especially the ankles and tendons near the knees. Emblem's transition from the draw to the chambered state shows masterful uses, taking advantage of her flexible body. Any sort of set-up with a bent leg can lead to a chambered shot, which opens up a constant 50/50 game for a wary opponent trying to scout the next shot. [/style]

Looking over the most southern city of the valley, a man stood atop a tower. From his place, he looked over at the other towers and then back to the deserted city. He could see the movement from the Darkness. As he silently stood there, he could feel perhaps a heart having entered his former home world. Intruding the land of the Heartless, he thought to himself with a sigh, or just a lost case.
The man, a Heartless from a former slave that once lived there, vanished into Darkness as he moved into the Corridors to Darkness. He planned to move closer to the sensation he felt. A being with a heart was apparently somewhere, but noticing some movement from the Heartless indicated another presence. The humanoid Heartless could sense a strange presence that he didn't know what to think of. Not a Heartless... I'm sure Nobodies were different as well...
Unsure, he stepped out of the Corridors onto the road. He then climbed atop of a wagon as he looked a bit ahead, hearing a stomp. As he looked ahead, he noticed a person ahead that appeared to be complaining about things. "There won't really be much trouble unless you call for it," the man responded as he moved over the roof of the wagon and climbed onto the driver's seat, without the span of horses, the vehicle wouldn't move, so the Heartless man sat down.
"I suppose I should welcome you to this blank city," he continued in a bored tone and leaned backwards as he looked around, giving a signal without motion to the Heartless to leave them alone. The Heartless moved away after this. "Do you need any help getting off this place?" He slowly asked while he kept cautious for the second presence he had sensed earlier. [/style] |

Indeed, one could find a world full of technology where the cars flew, robots were amongst the populace, and guns that went “pew-pew” were numerous. On the other hand, one could find a world full of magic and wonder, one with little technology and where everything that occurred was magic. Indeed, one could find a world full of unexplainable occurrences, talking furniture that served a furry master, or a talking rabbit that was always late. Yes, said hobby certainly did lead one to find these types of interesting things amid the universe if they had ability to do space travel. They could find those things and so much more… or they could find themselves on a boring planet with absolutely nothing interesting to write home about. Said planet was where a certain red-headed freelancer found himself right now, his gaze showing his disinterest in this planet as he smashed another Heartless. As it would seem, this world had been completely overrun by the Heartless as evidenced by the lack of people and the abundance of Heartless. Not only that but any town or village he happened by was ravaged and left in ruins before he was attacked by another pack of Heartless. He didn’t particularly mind having the chance to exercise while sight-seeing but the startling lack of things to see did put a damper in his mood. Even if the particular world he visited was boring, if there was at least a fine lady or two to chat up it wouldn’t be as boring. Yet having searched high and low, the martial artist had yet to find a single trace of any being of the opposite sex, a terrible prospect. ”I haven’t seen anyone yet but jeez if there are any survivors I think I’d go crazy without any ladies to keep me company,” he said to no one in particular as he yawned lazily and allowed his flashlight to hang limply from his wrist. That was another irritating feature of this planet, the startling lack of light and how it seemed to not have a sun to rise. Yes, while the moonlight did illuminate the area a bit, seeing anywhere past roughly ten feet in front of you was an incredibly difficult task. This coupled with the fact that there was hardly anything one could use as a landmark, navigating the planet was rather troublesome to say the least. It was so troublesome in fact that the freelancer had actually already forgotten where he had parked his Gummi Ship, a rather pressing concern. ”Wouldn’t matter as much if there was any food around here to eat damn it,” he whined as his stomach grumbled in agreement. Looking down to his stomach with a frown, he patted it lightly as if trying to comfort it, having been on the planet for roughly eight hours now. It was by no means something the freelancer wasn’t used to, having to go an extended period of time without food but normally he had a bit more legroom. Indeed, normally in these survival situations he would have some prey he could actually capture or fruit he could gather. Right now though all he had was stupid Heartless whom he had already tried to eat although had not been very successful in his attempt. More so than anything right now he wished he could at least get something to distract him from his hunger that wasn’t Heartless… and said wish was soon granted. Yes for as he walked what must have been his billionth mile of the day, he happened upon a woman smashing her foot into the ground. It was from the distance with his light barely illuminating her so he began to step rather quickly to get a better look at the girl. Indeed for he wished to see if while she looked good from far whether she was far from good when he got a close-up. As he got within a few meters though, he soon recognized the voice coming out of those lips and couldn’t help but grin widely at her comment. He knew who the woman was and giving himself a quick once over to make sure he looked presentable, he made his way over to her side, his arms crossed and his signature grin in place. ”Well I don’t suppose I qualify as a good-looking guy do I Ms. Emblem?” he started, his tone suggesting that it was a serious question although the red-head’s facial expression showed he had enough self-confidence to know he wasn’t a bad looker, ”Hehe it’s been about a week now or so hasn’t it? How have things been since our last little encounter?” he asked out of courtesy and hoping to get a bit of a conversation going. Sadly enough though, it seemed there was another person around who quickly made himself present, this voice also being rather familiar and quickly recognized. Unlike Emblem’s voice though, he wasn’t too pleased to hear it and in fact was already wishing the guy would bugger off as he’d rather chat up the pretty vixen. Turning his head toward the source of noise, Felix would shine his flashlight on the figure as a mischievous grin curved against his face and he let out a small snicker. ”Jeez you’re still wearing those rags and that shaggy hair mate?” he started, his tone purposely inclined to annoy, ”I would think that after the tournament you would have at least had enough money to buy some new digs and get a haircut or something. Ah wait I forgot I eliminated you pretty early in and I don’t believe they gave much money to people who lost so miserably,” he added, a cocky grin curved against his lips as he stared directly at Whatever, his eyes also showing just how badly he wanted to egg Whatever on. Indeed, even with a rather pretty woman like Emblem around, when he had let his gaze turn to Whatever the gears in his mind began to turn. He began to ponder just how entertaining it be to fight this guy again now that he had all of his powers at his disposal and vice-versa. Based off their previous fight, the freelancer was rather certain that his opponent had been more at a disadvantage than he had been. That being the case, perhaps if they were to fight now it would prove to be a far more interesting battle, and if anything make him break a sweat. If nothing else, it would get his mind off his hunger for the time being as he would get the adrenaline pumping through his veins. Then after he got done playing with the punk, if he actually knew his way around this world perhaps he could help the red-head locate his Gummi Ship. ”If I recall your name was Whatever correct?” he started, his cocky grin only growing wider, ”A pretty apt name for someone who can’t even seem to be bothered to put on some decent clothes and get a haircut heh,” he added, continuing to throw small jabs at the Heartless. He wasn’t sure if it would get the guy’s feathers ruffled or not but if anything having a bit of “verbal diarrhea” was always entertaining as well. The raven haired girl turned about and saw a familiar red head stroll on in with his usual suave. Hair glistening, hip swinging strut, and of course....the playboy style clothing. You really couldn't miss this sort of generator of testosterone no matter how you look at it. He somehow reminded the mercenary of a splotch of paint that's out of place on a tavern sign or a street painter, similar to the ones which hung along the walls of taverns in Port Royal. A splotch of red on a monochromatic piece. This definitely sounded like something her Alcadeius form could appreciate better, with her way in words and all that lovely overflow of vocabulary.
She did greet Felix with a half-assed smile though. Nothing too dreary, but it definitely was walking the lines of strolling through a firing lane that was all but pleasant. He wasn't a bad man, just a bit too forceful to the point of looking goofy in her eyes. Uchitel waved him over, taking care to not trigger the little discovery she found out about Blank Valley's streets a moment ago.
"Yaho Felix~ Been doing pretty well, you~?" the girly peep of Uchitel's voice let out, giving him a high-five once he was in range. Then came his schwagger, as well as a retort from her.
"Eh, I still say you're about a 5 on my scale pretty boy...so chill. It's nothing to be ashamed of though~ I just don't dig gingers, know what I mean?"
Friendly teasing was pretty normal among other mercernaries, and Felix surely earned his fair share. His schwagger may not have worked too well on this girl, but his charms on the battlefield were the real deal. Emblem had the pleasure of tackling a monster of a beast with him before, and his expertise in close range combat was something she needed to take notes from. He could probably help out against this new target too, given the nature of their situation. She also had a pretty sharp guess that it wouldn't take a whole lot to rope him into helping either.
Yet all those thoughts came to a halt when a third voice entered the discussion. Distorted in its pitches, yet not quite cybernetic. It was enough of a strange occurrence to draw the pugilist's attention towards a carriage little ways ahead. The figure seemed like a human, but unlike the other heartless she had come across recently. No, this one was capable of not only speech...but sharp movements that would have fooled anybody really. Aside from the glowing yellow eyes and poor choice in clothing, you could easily think of this man as exactly that.
Yet there was no mistaking what was before her. The flier had a picture, and her leads from the Olympus would only harden her deductions into fact. This, 'thing', was the mark. A heartless without a doubt, but one that somebody wanted eliminated for some unknown cause. Uchitel didn't really have any room to complain when it came to work. Such was the life of a mercenary after all: so long as you get paid, nothing else really mattered.
Liberate the world of Blank Valley and drive back the Heartless until sustaining forces arrive to take over. Easy enough, but so cut and dry to the merc. It made her feel like she was the invader here, with the whole stepping into Heartless base and all. That feeling was a fleeting moment, much like how she was about to blow off this abomination of a creature.
"Hah?" Uchitel said with a bit of exaggeration, turning towards the heartless in a slack-key sort of way. She slumped her shoulders a bit before placing them on her hip and leaning forth, pouty face included.
"Seems you're hinting at something there...whatever you are. And I'd love to stand around and chat with you, maybe take up a tour or so...but there's a job to finish here. So I'm gonna pass on that ticket for now headlights."
She strolled on over towards the right side of the sidewalk; stopping little ways before an alleyway that the stalking eyes massed. They receded as she got closer, but did not stop watching. Strangely enough, but not unnoticed, Emblem saw that their newest person gave the other Heartless an order. Social hierarchy it seemed. That little thought was a nice note to take down, as she came across a stack of boxes with heavy barrels fastened down onto.
This particular building must have been a shop during its lively days, given how there were a larger amount of wooden items and shards were lying about. Stacks of aged crates with a pungent smell were lining the wall, along with fallen displays that the caretakers took much pride in during the busy seasons. Emblem had to stop and think about just how cruel it must've been to live through such an invasion. Overran by something they could not understand, nor hope to at that moment. It was partially the reason why she took the job in the first place; so she could return the fallen city to those who have passed on. Even if the thought of survivors was nothing short but a fantasy, restoration of ownership could at least put those people to ease.
Returning to reality, Emblem fell quiet for a short while as she scanned the area for ideas. Similar to Port Royal's layout, Blank Valley had that aged feel to its structures and styles of construction. One of which was the street's current state of durability. Emblem did not know just where the weak points in the streets were, and that created a death-trap waiting to happen. Terrain was something one needed to keep in mind for any job, and this would be no different. This heartless of sorts probably could meld into shadows and all that jazz, like the rest of them, and had better grounds for attacks with the homefield advantage. She'd need a bit of work to get things going on the right foot. Literally.
Drawing back her stance and chambering a blow, the combatant met the heartless's glowing eyes once more. Determination was beaming, and now came the means to channel those feelings.
"I'm not entirely sure what you've gone and done, nor do I particularly care. It's nothing personal, but I gotta liberate this area. Stay out of my way or prepared to get curb stomped." Emblem declared, stepping forth a bit with confidence.
Squish!
Squish? The girl looked on down and at her boot. Lifting it up to see, she noticed it was a tiny shadow heartless imprint there...or some sort of black gooey thingy. EITHER one, it was silly gross and now it was all over that particular boot! Emblem didn't care to get dirty unless there was a need to in the situation...and there was no need right now! Heartless didn't need to be as small as roaches! Why would one be here now, roaming about and looking to be squashed? It just didn't make sense and now it was all over her foot! A vein of agitation was apparent on her forehead, visible through her bangs. The girl was trembling a bit, with the irritation welling up like a good ol' geyser.
One, graceful motion. Emblem took to an overhead fan kick, with her heel coming crashing down on the wooden crate she eyed out earlier. With a resounding crack, the timber that had rotted from time broke under the crushing force of the mercenary's blow into multiple pieces. The pyramid of barrels on top no longer were tightly bound to that geometric space, and fell to the curb under the laws of gravity. Emblem went to work quickly, using her body to either push or kick these wooden barrels of varying weight into the streets. Along with the barrels, some of the wooden splinters and chunks also was chucked all about her; with the overall scene very similar to a child throwing a bit of a tantrum. Humorous in a way, especially with Emblem's hair getting flustered to show just how much she was into this.
She totally made a mess in that area, with broken wood and trash laid all over the immediate area of where she was at; in addition to the rolling barrels in the streets. Not quite as fast as before, but none were really stationary. The little troublemaker fixed herself up and recomposed her breathing, as she picked up a rectangular, wooden lid that once belonged to a whole crate.
"Gawd, sorry about the wait. A girl just has to let out her stress at times you know? I dislike icky things like that." Emblem spoke femininely, gripping the board well and then proceeded to fling it like a make-shift giant shuriken from the east.
"I just gotta learn to throw my troubles away you know! I'm still working on it!"
[/style]

He listened to the two speak and remained silent for the moment. Then the woman started to go into a shop. Looking her go, he turned his gaze to Felix. "No... That is wrong, that's like naming someone "correct" or "through". Or using the word "name" as a name," the Heartless then said to him and scratched the back of his head with a pause, "change of clothes? Maybe... I don't know anything on... money, or buying things."
Listening to the woman speak again and then squishing some tiny Heartless that had gone unnoticed by even the humanoid Heartless. He raised an eyebrow when the woman destroyed some stuff. Letting the woman end his talk, he spoke up again: "well, I'm not sure who... sent you here, but if it's from any survivor from this place, then you're only helping evil. This world was one of slavery and chaos. If you'd like to know some things of the past..."
The Heartless sighed and rested himself a bit more backwards on the wagon. "After the wars, all those suppressed ended as slaves, used for amusement. We were thrown into arena's to fight and anyone born from slaves were grown up as slaves, we didn't gain names, but tags based on bodily conditions, strength and other things," he explained slowly as he looked over the two, "by helping the slavers to regain this world, it will just repeat history. I'm just here to prevent it. I agreed with the Keyblader named Night to not attack innocents, but if you're going to side against me, I shall fight you."
With those words, he ended his explanation and got up from his sitting position, but remained on top of the seat of the wagon. If the two were going to continue this... "mission", then he would simply defeat the two, that was pretty much was he figured. This world was saved from its corruption and he would prevent anyone from corrupting it once more. [/style] |

Well perhaps shape-shifting wasn’t the right word, it wasn’t like she transformed into animals or something like that, more so that she just changed appearances. Perhaps comparing her to Sailor Moon would be more apt, a thought that got a chuckle out of the freelancer as he answered her question with a “I’m fine thanks for asking,”. What came next though was a bit disheartening, the beauty claiming she was only a five on her scale, the freelancer quickly putting on a dejected expression. Even if she wasn’t too into red-heads (he hated the term ginger to be frank), to be only a five was rather shocking… or rather he’d act as much, he didn’t care all that much. Putting a hand to his heart and wearing a grimace, the freelancer let out a small “Ouch,” before laughing a bit and allowing a grin to replace that grimace he faked.
”Is that so?” he started, his grin only growing wider as he continued speaking, ”That’s a shame, here I was hoping I had a bit of a shot with you since a girl that can kick my ass is something I don’t see that often,” he added, a small snicker escaping his lips after saying it. Regardless, with that short bit of dialogue in between, Felix would still give out the taunts noted previously, a bit irritated that Whatever didn’t bite. In fact he only went on a tangent that the freelancer pretty much ignored, not interested in what a guy had to say when a fine lady was present. In fact, he pretty much didn’t’ hear a word the Heartless spoke, instead his hand put to chin in thought of how to start this. Indeed, the freelancer didn’t care for Whatever’s sob story, he was here on vacation time and without a sense of direction nor a map, finding his ship was damn near impossible. That being noted, his only option for entertainment than was to either continue flirting with Emblem or beat down the poorly dressed bum… or both. Yes, doing both sounded like a good way to spend his time and with a barrel rolling near his left foot, the freelancer couldn’t help but grin at the sight in his peripheral vision.
”Ah my apologies I was busy thinking of how I was going to smash your face in so I didn’t hear a word you said!” he started, his face mocking remorse, as he stepped a little closer with his arms held out in a shrug, ”I mean to be honest you just got a face that sends chills down my back, I really REALLY want to grind it to dust,” he added, clenching his right fist for a little emphasis. And then his first attack of what would surely be an eventful evening would commence, or perhaps distraction would be a more apt description. Indeed, depending on how much attention was paid to Felix’s words and the clenching of his fist, Whatever may be caught a bit off guard when the freelancer suddenly slipped his foot underneath a barrel. With said foot subtly slipped under, much like a soccer player the freelancer would lift the barrel up before kicking it toward Whatever’s face.
If one were to ask why the freelancer had performed such an action he would reply with a smirk and simply say “are you serious?”. Indeed, dirty tactics were second nature for the red-head, he had to fight dirty if he wished to get the upper hand against the monsters he fought. Not only that but based on their prior battle, Whatever would know that Felix was a hand to hand fighter through and through. With their fight in the tournament, Felix didn’t have much of a chance at all to fight dirty having simply outclassed Whatever and taking his victory cleanly. That being said, it was unlikely Whatever would expect a dirty tactic much less while the freelancer seemed to announced that he’d be smashing Whatever’s face. Not only that, but it wasn’t often one had a barrel thrown at their face as was and in his seated position it might prove difficult to move quickly. Yes, it would prove difficult to dodge that barrel much less block it and with it effectively creating a blind-spot, Felix could get another attack in. With the flashlight having illuminated Whatever earlier and his position confirmed, Felix would use the blind-spot provided by the barrel and sprint toward Whatever.
Yes, running as fast as he could toward the man, Felix would throw back his flashlight toward Emblem in case she needed it as fire suddenly surrounded his entire body. The technique was called Fire Manipulator |
[/b] and in this incredibly dark area it would prove rather helpful as it illuminated his surroundings quite a bit. And as he got into range, Felix would unsheathe the blade on his back, gripping it with two hands before bringing it down upon Whatever in a diagonal from left shoulder to his hip. Once again this choice of attack served another purpose aside from attempting to inflict damage but would most likely be an unexpected attack for Whatever. In their last fight, Felix hadn’t unsheathed his blade the entire match so it was possible that Whatever would believe that the freelancer didn’t use it for a specific reason. After all in their previous match, a katana would have proven a tremendous advantage against the rag wearing Heartless who was unarmed. If Whatever had this mistaken notion in his head was a gamble but the freelancer did enjoy to gamble with high stakes involved. Right now he was playing with the highest stake of them all, his own life and with that in mind his blood was pumping rapidly. Nothing gave him the same rush as putting his life on the line except the occasional damsel with a particularly fine booty to gander at (although NO posteriors in particular came to mind *cough*Emblem*cough*) ”I hope you don’t disappoint me this time,” he taunted a smirk curved against his lips, ”It be a real shame if I beat you twice without even breaking a sweat,” he would add and see the result of his attack. Whether his attacks connected and how easily the wagon caught on fire in the event that he missed and only struck the wood. Although having more light in this dark place would still be a rather pleasing outcome for my attack,[/i] OOC - Fire Manipulator[/b] - By using the same principle behind Mass Manipulator, Felix is able to manipulate the element of fire to his will. When activated, Felix’s body will be covered in blue flames that circle around his body that will cause very minor damage to people that attack him physically (though it will not protect him from any fire damage he receives). As for his attacks, they will all be given Fire elemental damage on top the physical damage Felix deals normally. If attacked directly, the flames will spread onto his opponent’s body wherever struck; causing severe burns for a short duration (2 Posts). The status effect will not be applied if the opponent is attacked with his katana. The manipulator has a duration of two posts and cannot be used with any other manipulator simultaneously and has a three post cool down. Furthermore, after it falls off, Felix will not be able to use any other elemental manipulator for one post. (This technique can be dodged, parried, and blocked with a weapon. However, it cannot be parried or blocked with one’s body, since the flames would spread to the person’s body regardless) (Added as 'Hackers' Sidequest reward, 26th of April 2011.) Emblem called out, holding her position and snatching the modern torch from the sky. "Seems to me that you just don't wanna take a chance and get this place back up to speed! Reason enough for me to kick your sorry bum out of here weirdo!"
It was a relief to know that Felix had taken notice of the poor lighting too. That brought a different aspect into a fight; one that certain military forces would consider in their battle tactics. The concept of darkness allowed concealment for both sides, as well as opportunities to expose yourself by usage of any light source. It was necessary because of the human limitation of vision within dark areas. This then became a battle of delicate balancing between how much light a hume would use without going overboard and giving away their position. At least against other hume forces.
In this battle however, their opponent was only hume in shape. Emblem couldn't hard confirm, but this creature had all the characteristics of a Heartless with a couple more attached on. Yellow eyes, affinity or dark places, safety amongst other heartless, and attraction towards matters with emotional value. Most times, this meant it was a powerful heart that was the target and less of the actual world/item that provoked the aspect of one's life. She wasn't sure though. No one really wrote any books or made any documentaries about what happened to worlds that were taken over by these creatures. Nobody really lived long enough to go get a task like that done, or was crazy enough to walk right into such a wasp's nest. The very thought was suicidal.
'Good thing I'm a bit cuckoo myself!'
This creature still managed to lock eyes on both Felix and Emblem in this darkness, which did not go unnoticed by the pugilist. She couldn't make out his form too well from the distance, but knowing that this heartless could see her was a bit disheartening. Part of her mind just accepted that handicap, since it was them that were walking into this sort of trap. Maybe that's why Felix opted to bring a bit more leverage to this strong-armed lock their foe had in terrain? His elemental mastery decided to go with Ignus's flames, as he became about the brightest focus one could be within a darkened world.
Setting down the flashlight and gazing upon his move that ignited the wagon, Emblem decided to widen her stance a bit and angled her lead foot towards the newly crafted light source. She needed to try and anticipate what exactly this newcomer could do in terms of fighting capabilities and not rely on what appears to be experience that Felix displayed. The heartless had not made a move, despite what was done thus far; so it was cautious and not so easily provoked. Calm enemies were always the tough cookies of the bunch.
Slowly back pedaling until her heel clanked against another object. Looking down, she now make out what used to be a flag pole with its colors bound neatly around the shaft. There were quite a few of them lain out to see. Emblem now figured that this must've been what some of those barrels were holding prior, as not all of the wooden objects she smashed and rolled out were bound or box in shape. She couldn't make out the design from its wrapped state, but flag poles made an interesting make-shift weapon. One that brought a smile to Emblem's face.
Snapping her fingers, a gate of purple light was spawned and engulfed her figure while moving downward. Her Uchitel famous white snow coat was replaced for a Victorian age dress with heavy gothic accents placed about everywhere. Emblem's raven hair was replaced with a dusty brown one, tied into two tails by crystalline hair ornaments. Most notable to her wardrobe change was the skirt of blades that were lined about the waistline of the dress.
"One should have ze courage to rise up and rebuild zere countres' noble heritage! Not let it rot under ze slaver's binds within Fasher Time's rut!" Chevalier Emblem roared at Whatever proudly, grabbing a hold of a flag pole.
She twirled it about, getting a feel for the weight of her projectile. Since it wasn't going to be a true javelin, some compensation would have to be done in order to have it fly true. In this case, it was tossing it slightly straighter and reducing the angle rise by not failing on the follow through. Chevalier could see her target within the burning cart, and prepared two javelin flagpoles.
Rising to a standing position and throwing the first aimed directly at the shadow's current location, the weight of her pole arm felt a bit light on the release. This meant that it wasn't truly locked into position, and also gave a higher chance of altering trajectory mid-flight. As she spun the second javelin into position, she noticed the weapon fall lower just as she thought. Her instinct had recognized the failure to apply all her power properly during the throw, and that was the reason why the weapon was going to deliver a knee shot rather than a clean heart piercer upon hit.
The elegant knight gripped her flag polearm well and took her first toss as a measurement test. Her next throw would be much more accurate, and she had at least three more to use behind her from what she remembered. Now was spent to rest her muscles after the initial toss and refresh, as well as prepare for a separate counter attack within an attentive position. Emblem held the flag pole's dusty shaft straight and true vertically, awaiting and watching the flow of this fight.
----------------------------
]Eternal Arms Mastership: A passive skill granted to those who show mastery in the arts of war unlike any of their time. They are the paragon of armed combat and do not allow degradation of their fighting skills even when under heavy mental hindrance. This is achieved through the merging of mind, body, and technique. It can be best referred as becoming one with the weapon's essence. For Emblem, she has a naturally higher aptitude for wielding weaponry of any sort and skillfully uses them in battle equivalent to a seasoned veteran. While armed with single-edged swords, her mastery is significantly higher than any other. This is best proven by her attire, which is composed of similar weapons in Chevalier d'Éon. Emblem’s mastery using this passive is not the same as one who specializes in the art. She cannot use weapons that have wielding restrictions on them (ex. cannot use a keyblade), and exotic weaponry do not have special effects (ex. Chakrams do not fly back when used.) Her power with weapons are bound by the laws of Gaia, the origins of the phantom core and FURY. For hybrid weapons like a gunblade, she needs to be with a specific form to utilize the function. Revolver gunblades would lean towards the knight sword category and cannot use their burst feature, which would require the Ein Trigger form. Fire arm switchblades could fire like actual hand guns, but the blade portion would be no different than a bayonet or a pistol whip; since the sword/melee mastery would be Chevalier d’Eon’s specialty. Specialties: (Note: These ARE examples of weapon classes. To give you an idea at what each form specializes in using.) - Ein Trigger: Handguns, Rifles, Heavy armaments, Launchers, Bombs, Throwing Projectiles, Crossbow - Chevalier d’Eon: Melee class weapons. (ex. Swords, Polearms, Bludgeons, Daggers), Shields, Bow and Arrow - Alcadeius: Grimoires, Fabric, Enchanted Armaments - Uchitel: Bo Staff, Armored Gloves, Greaves, Fabric, Martial Arts weaponry
This skill is not exclusive to the Chevalier d'Éon form. Eternal Arms Mastery does not spawn weapons for Emblem to use in any form.
Gates of Deus: An ability all forms are capable of using. Originally a technique for Alcadeius to use, this is a dual method technique. By performing an action of sorts, a gate with light drawn patterns spawns in front of Emblem. Emblem, after traversing the gateway, is capable of switching into one of her different forms. The doorway of energy dissipates after the user crosses it and goes into cooldown.
Emblem also utilizes this to traverse between different worlds. The change aspect still applies. [Cooldown]: 2 posts
