[/div][/sub]This is not the end; This is not the beginning
Well, who could have foreseen this? Tidus was in the heat of battle, doing everything he could to keep himself and the flower-themed man alive. He watched as the fire tornadoes cleared out the powerful Heartless, and was almost a little disappointed, figuring that hadn't nearly begun to get deep into this climatic battle. If anything, if had been anticlimatic with how weak that species of Heartless was now to him. But he was more disappointed in his creativity, that the firey winds had swept out of control and devastated the fungi life inside the cavern as well.
His back had slammed into the cavern wall from the contained heat wave of the explosion, getting up as he rubbed his back vigorously to get the cramps out of it. Surprisingly, Marluxia used the Potion he had given to him not on himself but on the blitz ace. The blond felt the curative effects of the healing waters, and felt a hundred per cent again. "Oh no, you don't get off that easy!" he smiled, and with a wave of his hand, he cast Cura again now that his energy to cast it had been restored, also fully restoring the Nobody's wounds. Now they were both healed to show their appreciation for working together to survive this battle few others had passed, they had to turn to the dire situation which was the devastation of the fungus in the cavern.
Who was it to say that it had even been Tidus' fault they had all been ravanged? Fire was destructive and cleansing of almost all things, yes, but Marluxia's tornadoes were equally as damaging. They were struggling to survive, and the blitzer hadn't anticipated at all the elemental spells would grow out of control so quickly to effect the surrounding landscape as well. Tidus surveyed the damage, looking for a mushroom that had not been destroyed out of all the whisked and charred stalks and caps, until he noticed Marluxia staring at something that was a most peculiar sight.
A squrriel? Never for a million gil would Tidus have bet that this would be the end result of this battle. What in all of Spira was a squirrel doing in here? Tidus was not familiar with the creature from his home word, but he knew enough of the worlds by now that squirrels prefered living in trees rather than caves. To boot, they did not prefer mushrooms, but seeds of trees called acorns. Yet this one was clutching the final mushroom they needed in it's furry little paws, and still trying to understand how if his fire had scathed the interior of the cavern had this little guy remained unscathed, he watched and followed after Marluxia as he tailed and then cornered the little rodent for the final ingrediant. Despite his 'haste' to survive and keep his heart intact from the powerful Heartless, they had all the mushrooms they needed, and upon returning to the tavern were glad with the welcome they received when it meant the client could finally be cured - and stopped sending more adventurers to their demise.
As Tidus turned to thank Marluxia and say a final goodbye, he noticed the pink-haired man had slipped out of their sights, and caught a final glimpse of him exiting via what was known as a Corridor of Darkness out of the sights of anyone that had not been following his movements. (It had been a great experience, to meet and make such a valued friend. An yet, it felt like there was so much more about him that was on the surface. Whatever his deal was, we had put aside whatever pasts we had to help someone in need... so we could look towards a brighter future we could all live another day to see. Something told me though, as I looked into the dark abyss of that portal of shadow... that would be the last time I would see that man. But it would not be the last time I would remember him.) As Tidus finished his inner monologue, he turned and exited the tavern, going to check up on Rinoa he had left behind in a room in the local inn.
Tidus has left the thread and the thread has finished. Thank you all!
