Jovial Prince of Thieves
This looked liked it would be an easy fight, at least he was hoping. They looked like vicious little monsters, nothing like he has ever seen before. With their formless bodies they looked like orbs of darkened Mist, which creeped him out. These, though looked much like those shadows he has seen troubling others, were different. He was not sure how, but they were not the one's his friend had told him were dangerous. The descriptions were totally off. They were smaller and the markings were different. These were not Heartless by what little he had been told, or experienced.
He did know they wanted a fight and fight they would get. The thief was nimble and he was quick. His first move was a Swift Attack that cleanly knocked back one of the Unversed, hopefully sending him into oblivion from whence he came. Swift Attack would force the thief to dash forward, so rapidly, that enemies would find it impossible to dodge. Of course speed was his ally more so than an skill. It kept him from falling into the more obvious traps and delicate actions of an opponent that sought to catch him off guard. He was always on guard in combat, he knew what happened when you lost that concentration.
There were more Unversed than he had expected now that he had a moment to look about. There were about ten enemies and Squall was taking care of the horde that approached from the front end. With the Mage Mashers in hand he would smirk and press the weapon's hilts together, forming a full Thief's Sword with the once singular weapons. Spinning the full swallow blade. The pushed forward, aiming to take out another creatures, hopefully bringing his count up to two, but the surprised shout of his partner took him by surprise.
He had charged forward and lost his back to back position with Squall and let him vulnerable to attack. The thief turned on a dime and wit ha kick look would move to punt at the critter that attacked Squall.
"You okay?!" He called out. "We need to get to a more open spot, fighting in a corner like this won't do." Seeing as they just entered the underground area and were locked between three walls, it really left them in to face an unmanageable fight with two of them and even more Unversed.

Shortly after he had gotten hit by one of the Unversed. Zidane had mentioned something about moving to a more open area. His Monkey friend had the right idea at that. This area was small and cramped. So it would be actually a great idea to leave this room. Hopefully, the Unversed wouldn't follow them out to the main hallway.
Even still this was the only way they could really go. Leon needed to continuing this area of the castle. "I'm alright. Lets go." Soon enough, Squall turned to face the exit and ran. "If were lucky they will follow us to the hallow way." The Lion was thinking that if they could lure the Unversed out of the room, it would be easier to finish them off.
Of course they had about a fifty percent chance of it going either way. But hey it was better than fighting in a tight area. Pretty much, Leon was going to give it a few minutes. As he stood there, the Lion maintained his fighting stance. Creatures like this normally like to follow, or stalk its 'prey'.
[OOC: Sorry. Kind of a dull post]

Jovial Prince of Thieves
At this point the thief was not feeling very lucky. With the emergence of the new enemy they were blocked off from moving forward, and there was no way they would be able to light off the rest of them in such a narrow space. He had already taken into account that maneuverability would not be an option, so he had combined his daggers into his Thief's blade and opted out Speed for Power. He was glad Squall was not willing to fight in the cramped space. He was already hit once, staying here only risked further danger.
When Squall took off the Thief made sure to follow straight after. His steps were nearly cut short by the swipes from the Unversed, but he would manage. His boots were nearly clipped but he would still manage to carry himself far from the shadows. The Ogre weighed him down, but it added an edge in battle. He was not sure how strong the enemies were, but he could not risk it with lighter weapons against such strange looking monsters. When they made their way outside the thief would jump and leap forward. He would land at the bottom of the steps: nearly dropping into a full crouch.
He stood to his full height, which honestly was not that much when compared to Squall, and glanced over his shoulder before turning on his heel and taking The Ogre's length into both of his gloved hands. The area was more open, but the thief was not ready to lose out on the chance for treasure. His tail lowered slightly, curling up to keep from dragging on the ground and began to sway. He spun the blade over head as he heard them shuffling about.
"Let's blow them away, or we lose a good chance!" He was sure the male, even if he may not be interested in what hidden beauty laid in this castle, but he sure a heck wanted to go forward.
There was no way a bunch of little guys like this would slow down progress, right?

With both Squall and Zidane out of that small room, the rest of the Unversed followed. Now was their chance to end this annoying battle. They needed to continue their exploration, and find whatever they were looking for. "Lets end this!" Leon said aloud. With a slight nod to Zidane, he charged in. The Lion quickly darted for the Unversed right in front of him.
Easily, he sliced the Unversed in half. Leon brought up his guard, while quickly counting what was left. From what he had noticed there was only about four left. So two for himself and two for his partner. Squall dashed around cutting the first one clean in half, before spinning around and cleaving the others head right off. "Guess there's no more." He said softly.
With that he walked back into the room. The Lions eyes shifted from side to side, and saw nothing. So it was finally over for now. Now being carefree, he walked over to the stone doors and pushed one open with one hand. As he peered in Squall saw only some tables and multiple treasure chests. There as no captives or anything. Well it was time to check out the hidden exit now.

Jovial Prince of Thieves
Zidane was glad to see the monsters took the bait and when Squall charged forward to attack, this time the thief would make sure he had his back. The male gripped his digits over the textured center of the blade and shifted his weight so that it he would have a good balance. He slid his legs apart and raised his tail up so he was in an agreeable position to charge. When Squall selected his target and attacked the thief would rush into his opportunity once it was presented to him. He kicked off the ground and charged the Unversed with prejudice. The Ogre was raised over his head and spun. The circling motion would allow him to swing down the blade with a forceful momentum.
Kicking off the ground the thief would swing the blade down horizontally and cleave the Ogre's deadly edge into his enemy. The shadow was taken out in one swipe before the thief curled his tail an looked back to see the last one standing. With a grin the rogue stabbed back the Ogre and thrust the blade into the fiend. With a grin he shifted his thumbs and unlatched his weapon, which would more than easily return to two weapons under his expert fingers. There the thief stood with his arms at his sides, the weapons curved back and seemed to glisten under the overhead lights. The thief wondered idly if the lights were fed by fueled by oil or the strange, electricity that Traverse Town seemed to survive on.
Though Squall had said they were without enemies, the thief felt he never could be too cautious. He looked up with his blue eyes but shrugged. He would follow Squall back into the narrow passage. Squall seemed to know his way around, which made him suspicious, but even worse, the narrow space looked like a ... dungeon. This was not the sort of place Zidane liked hanging around, for obvious reasons.
"Ahh... Squall? Where's this?" He knew, but would move to slip his daggers back into their scabbard.
He got a bad feeling, like something was watching them. He looked behind him, not allowing himself to stay calm in such a closed off space. His pupils seemed to focus, contracting further into slits as he peered over his shoulder. Something was crawling around. The chests, though tantalizing, in such a place, running in without a plan was always a troublesome idea. Someone had to watch his back.
"Hey... check those chests, maybe there's something useful?" He suggested calmly, as if he was indeed worried about the environment at hand.
He was interested in those chests, but he was not just going to turn on Squall, but whatever was around, really made him uneasy. He kept his hand on his scabbard, adjusted his belt and looked toward the specks of darkness that seemed to reach out from the hanging lanterns.

"Lets see." He said in response to Zidane saying that he should check the chests. Leon didn't noticed the dark specks, due to his concentration being on the chests. The first one he simply opened up rather easily. It made a loud screeching sound, as it opened. Squall somewhat flinched at the noise. To his surprise there was gold and gems filled to the top with a set of keys to the side.
The Lions eyes drifted over to the second chest and noticed a lock on it. Leon easily deduced that the key's were for the second chest. So he grabbed the keys with his spare hand and took a few steps over to the next chest. Unfortunately, he had to cycle through the entire set of keys until he had found the correct one. Now as he opened this second chest there was no noise.
This time to his surprise, there was multiple black spherical gems with words engraved in another language."I wonder what they say. Would you know?" Leon asked the Monkey boy softly. Squall wondered what these odd gems were for. He had never seen anything like them. Perhaps it was related to summons? Or could these orbs be for those armored knights out in the hallway?

Jovial Prince of Thieves
His heart was practically a flutter with the squeaking sound of the opening chest, but it was not until it was open did he truly realize what he had come upon. The glimmer of gold and gems caught the thief's eyes and whet his appetite for the treasure. The male's grip on his blade's hilts tightened and left his gloved palms feeling sweaty. His blue eyes focused on the shining gold rounds and misshaped gems. His tail slowed down from its rapid pace to a smooth sway. Parting his lips he raised his right hand, the left palm remaining settled on the top of his blades. This was not exactly what he was looking for, but maybe it would fuel his goal.
The rogue turned to face Squall, his mind drifting from its goal. A pair of ruby eyes blinked from the shadows. The long, shadow covered limb reached out to grab the thief's tail. As the clawed hand moved to clasp around the furred limb Zidane would step into the room and barely miss the assault. The shadow vanished and rushed away. Zidane clapped his hands together, rubbing them crudely. This was a delectable sight for the thief, unable to help his more questionable habits. He leaned over the chest and laughed.
"Man to think finding treasure in this kinda place!" Of course he was always hopeful.
These old places always seemed to carry the chance of treasure, but when Squall revealed another chest that was not very normal. Zidane would lean his hand on his knees and looked down into the chest. At Squall's question he could only presume that there was a way to move those statues that stood in their way and it was another rumor, or bit of information from that unnamed source. With that in mind he would look to orbs in question. The male tilted his head to examine the words on the orbs. It was certainly no language he knew, and he rightly only could read two.
It gave him a bad feeling, or perhaps it was a more memorable feeling...? He was not quite sure what it was that made him worry. It was hard to pinpoint, but he knew it would be important later. Regardless of what it was there was no point in worrying about it now. He motioned his hand to Squall and nodded.
"Let's take it with us and see, I mean we won't know until we try, right?" Leave it to Zidane to suggest something questionable, but it also seemed rather reasonable.

With Zidane holding the orbs, he decided that they should try the Monkies plan. "Alright. Lets see if it moves the suits of armor." As he turned around nothing had seemed to be behind them anymore. Cautiously, he made his way out of the area and back into the rather lavish hall way. You could say that he really wanted the orbs to take some kind of effect on the suits of armor.
This castle was almost to big to explore in a day. So having these two objects in his path is annoying. " Hurry up!" He shouted to his ally. With that he walked all the way over to the two suits of armor and waited for Zidane. The Lion wasn't going to move onwards without him. Nor could he since the Monkey boy had both of the orbs. Thanks to him being rather anxious to find Rinoa. Waiting wasn't his strong point right now.
While continuing his wait for his companion, Squall felt something in the air. It seemed like a dark aura. Was something bad going to happen again? What was with all of the distractions today? Couldn't anything just go his way for a change? First he had to deal with all of the events in his past. So now what? Could it be the Heartless? Whatever it was, Leon just wanted to finish his exploration.

Jovial Prince of Thieves
When Squall turned out of the small room he felt his throat tighten. Crystal blue eyes shifted and turned to look down toward the open chests. If he did not wear the appropriate gloves he was sure his hands would be sweating. He only had seconds to consider his actions and there was no time to simply turn and grab a handful before being caught. His eyes sorted through the mounds of gold with gemstones twisted down into the the confines of the shining chest. His tail swayed as he turned, the orbs still in hand. As his body shifted to completely turn and follow Squall, that ever mobile tail of his would prove its dexterity and strength.
The fifth limb swayed down toward the chest and reached to wrap around one of the loose gemstones. The fur on the tail was smooth, leaving touch free to reach the flesh bound by the smooth cover. The muscles were taut and could easily grip with the force of his hands. Through his skillful training and sleight-of-hand not at all being relinquished to his hands, the thief would easily lift a purple gem from the box of gold. The shifting of gold would be muffled by the click of his boots as he took a step after Squall, his heels clicking gratuitously over the stone floor. The entire act was one, smooth motion that suited the agile thief. As his tail raised up out of the chest a shadow would reach out and grab for his tail, only to miss again. The figure looked to the chest and than to the thief with anger gleaning in its red eyes. The shadow would slither back into the chest and he chest would snap close with a slam.
Zidane jumped and hurried out the room. He shook his head and sighed. "Man this place is spooky..." He tried to brush off the sudden closing of the chest.
He was positive he did not touch it....
As they made their way back through the passage Zidane sighed. He raised the orbs and looked to them, trying to inspect the inscriptions. Curiosity was sparked and a bit of wonderment. Were these normal, magical runes or something similar to Terra's runes? He could not read them, so they definitely were not Terra's runes, but he wondered if they were that same sort of machine magic...inorganic in a way. Regardless they would be helpful. At Squall's shout to hurry Zidane was startled from his thoughts and nearly dropped the orbs. He tossed them up and began to juggle them a bit to keep from completely losing face.
"Hold your Chocobos, I'm comin'!" Zidane asserted before snatching the orbs from the air and hurrying his steps.
The rogue did not want to lag behind. Something was up...
Unsettled by the cold air, which touched his skin upon their entering the stairwell again, he shivered as his skin stood up in small, rough bumps. They made it to the suits of armor. Zidane walked forward with each orb in hand. Maybe this would help them along? He really was unsure how, especially when it came to magical device. Heck the only reason the Invincible responded to him was due to his genes. He pouted his lip and pinched his eye in confusion.
"Well, whatever." Zidane held out the orbs to the statue.
There was suddenly a bright light that expanded from the black orbs and would fill the immediate area with a blinding light. As the light filled the room something slithered passed the two warriors, whatever it was would likely bump against their legs in passing. Zidane had winced at the light and pulled his head away, sneering uncomfortably. When he opened his eyes the orbs were gone and the statues seemed to have moved aside. Zidane was not about to question it as he looked between the two suits of metal and gave a mock salute.
"Well that's one way to command the troops." He chuckled out, settling his hands on his hip in admiration to his handy work.
At the very end of the hall, with two Gargoyle statues guarding it, was some sort of treasure chest....

As his Monkey friend had finally caught up, the suits of armor reacted to the orbs. The cause of this generated a massive bright light. As this brilliant light faded the suits of armor had moved aside. "Though I wonder why this place has so many traps. Its as if the owner of the castle is expecting trouble." Leon said with much curiosity. Could it be that in the past something bad had happened?
Well whatever the case they could continue their little adventure. With this in mind, Squall made a quick left and walked down the hallway. "Zidane we have a whole other half of this castle to explore. Which leads me to believe a stronger creature might appear. So we will need to be on guard." He said with a calm tone. Leon just wanted to let Zidane know what he thought.
You could say it was his way of giving his partner a heads up. Now Squall could be completely wrong. However, the way things have been going he was positive more bad events would bestow upon them. Not to mention the Lion believes himself to be a magnet for horrible situations to arise. As they reached the end of the hallway, he noticed two Gargoyle statues guarding a treasure chest, with a small stair case behind them.

Jovial Prince of Thieves
When the light cleared Zidane blinked open his eyes. His tail curled outward at the surprise before him. He was not expecting the armor to move, but there was no complaining after the fact now was there? A sly grin drew itself over his features as he seemed to dust off his hands in pride. The stolen gem was securely settled in the left pocket of his pants, leaving its presence invisible thanks to the extra slack in his slacks! there were always reasons to the ways thieves dressed, and it was not just a statement on fashion and their odd styles. He looked over to Squall, a question now hanging over his head. Traps usually meant there was something to protect, and knowing the greedy nature of humans it had to be worth something, right? He had no qualms in stealing goods so rightfully lovely and better in the hands of a poor, hungry urchin like himself, right? From the rich and into the hands of the poor one could agree.
He was eager to continue this adventure so hurried after Squall and even dashed in front of him at some point, his skip a bit more peppy now that he was made aware of the multitude of death traps present in their little exploring place! One could easily decipher the thief's mood. Even without that rapidly swishing tail the bounce in his step and wide grin on his face was great indication, if not only of his happiness but the joy he felt from the other mischievousness he was going to get into. It was hard to say if he really got pleasure from annoying people or simply being the center of attention, but it was not far off to say that it was a little of both.
And with Squall's observation the Thief whorled around to face him, arms moving up to fold behind his head. The expression on Zidane was not quite what one unfamiliar with the thief, to expect, but so far Squall as been in said present company long enough to realize there was getting him down and out of a good mood. He gave a nonchalant shrug toward the matter, his tail swaying about. He had seen that chest from a mile away. In the darker reaches of the hall his more, alien eyes, could easily narrow and focus more clearly in the dark than normal humans. The cat-like slits were quite unnerving if one focused on them, but they gave the shorter male a wry sense of cattiness that truly suited him. His ultimate goal was to inadvertently bump into the chest so it could not be ignored by both parties.
The Thief felt the heel of his boot hit the chest. His tail slyly slid down to caress the dusty, rugged surface of the chest. He was still looking to Squall. "You worry too much."
Famous Last Words
The moment that phrase left the boy's mouth his life was in danger. At either side of him the Gargoyle Statue's peeled open their eyes at the foreign presence and the taste of hearts filling their territory with a sickening hunger that would only be sate when their bodies were once again whole with a heart, even if it was not their own! What the monsters would not give to have that peace of mind. Cracks began to form along the bodies of tone and hands would tighten around the weapons in their grasp: one held an ax, the other a morning star.
BAM BAM
Zidane stiffened as the slamming weapons crashed behind him and bore into the surface of the chest, which rattled the inhabitant, but also jammed the lock, trapping them inside of the chest. The rogue had pulled up his tail at the last, split second and his face flushed into a distinct, blue color. Neither a scream or whimper left the boy's mouth. No, instead a trail of obscenities that could make the most traveled adventurer blush, escape the lips of the boy who looked no older than fourteen. He rushed forward, scrambling to keep on his feet before he drew his blades and spun around to face the cackling Gargoyles a they hopped, upon their pedestals, toward the two.

Squall came to a sudden halt as Zidane told him that he worries to much. Leon already knew what was up. Couldn't the Monkey boy see what was going to happen? Why would there be two statues there guarding a chest? Not to forget about the small set of stairs right next to the chest and the statues. However, Leon was highly amused when he saw Zidanes face turn blue.
At this point Squall was pretty sure that his worrying was a good thing. The Lion had learned from his multiple experiences to be careful. At any given moment something bad could happen. Not to mention with his luck something always bad happens. "You should listen to me." He said with a slight laugh. Of course Squall wasn't going to let Zidane have all the fun.
With his Lionheart gunblade held in his right hand, he slowly double gripped the handle. Carefully, he brought his Gunblade out to the side and charged. Once in close enough range, Leon made a swift horizontal slash to the Gargoyle on the right. Sadly, it was going to take a few hits to take these Heartless out. After all they were stronger than the Shadows.

Jovial Prince of Thieves
Zidane was not expecting to be ambushed so suddenly. He nearly lost his heart there. With his daggers in hand and his body lowered as his legs spread to better hold the smaller boy's center of gravity: he seemed just as ready to flee a he was to fight, and just as likely to do either. His tail was low to the ground, but coiled up so that its end nearly touched the length of itself. The fifth limb would bounce and sway whenever a breathe was released. His blue eyes turned over to Squall who find it an opportune moment to snark at Zidane's less attentive nature. Sometimes when treasure was involved it was a bit harder to focus on the main itinerary, oh wait was that not looking for treasure?! Well, that was Zidane's goal in any case.
"Ha, say what you want, let's just take care of them!" The thief bolstered, but he knew he was but a hair away from losing his precious tail.
With playful banter aside Squall seemed ready to rush forward. Zidane's mind was now on the fight. The treasure could wait. He watched as Squall lunged and struck the Gargoyle with a mighty blow, but these hardheads were not going to be such easy prey. The stone barely batted an eye after the weapon hit its mark. While Zidane watched the warrior go for it, the second Gargoyle was hot on its target. Blue eyes darted up when the stony ax came down with much unguarded prejudice. The thief smirked and kicked off the ground, his boot's heel clapping against the creaky, wood floor. His daggers were tightly gripped in each hand and when he jumped back it was barely given a moment of thought before he acted.
"So, you wanna go big fella? Let's go all out!" He called out.
After he landed his body and tail would respond by shifting their weight. His tail curled up and bounced down just as his leg muscles tightened and he would kick off the ground. His hands would come together and twist the Mage Mashers until the unified and formed The Ogre. After the hilts clapped together he pulled his arms toward the left side of his body, the Thief's Blade now weighing him down with its cumbersome length, he drew his arms out to the side and swung out his arm, similarly to manner in which one would swing out a bat. The cleaving blow doing well to make quite the racket when it connected the stone beast. Using the momentum from the cleave the thief pushed himself back and into the center of the fray. Though he did not defeat his enemy with his attack, it was enough to knock him for a loop. Zidane smirked and looked over his shoulder to Squall.
"Need a hand?" He teased, seeing as the warrior was unable to take out his beast in one swing.
Though stony critters always gave him trouble. Blades were no good against their hardened skin, but little was the thief aware that these Heartless were not ordinary Gargoyle, as unordinary as they were to begin with! With the thief now standing behind his opponent's back, its bouncing around causing more of a racket than he would have liked, he would break The Ogre back into Mage Mashers so he could more freely wield the weapons. He charged forward and used both bladed to hammer down into the Gargoyle's pedestal, finally shattering it into pieces.
Of course this brought Zidane only that much closer to the treasure they were guarding, but the were they to try and pry it open, the pair would likely find it difficult as the Gargoyle Warriors had dented in the lid. This box would be ladened with an assortment of treasure as well, but more unique than the last chest, and perhaps ripe with a clue as to just who really occupied the seemingly abandoned castle.

Probably the one flaw Squall hates about his partner is his easy going personality. Sure Leon would rather be back to back with Cloud, but that was a whole other story. Besides, Zidane was a powerful and trustworthy partner. The Lion knows that he could count on the Monkey. He didn't have much time to think any longer. Seeing how he had to defend the attacks from the Gargoyle attacking him.
Squall kept dodging and blocking any attack made towards him. Leon was attempting to find its weak spot. He wanted to take advantage of that weak spot to take the Heartless down in on final hit. "No. I can handle this myself." He said with much confidence. Squall knew his friend was only joking, so he didn't think much of it. It did not take much longer, before he finally found it.
Right as the Heartless made its attack, he made a swift parry. This made the Heartless flinch, allowing him to pierce his Gunblade right through the center of its chest. On impact, from the sheer force of his attack caused the Heartless to vanish in a pool of darkness. " You want the treasure that bad huh?" He said while looking at the Monkey.

Jovial Prince of Thieves
When Squall's opponent went down, the clutter of stone was heard, only for the beasts to vanish. The thief stood at a more relaxed stance and allowed his arms to settle at his sides. The pale, magenta gleam from the blades would reflect wildly against the flickering candlelight. He seemed to still be on a high from the fight, his tail stiff and hanging higher than usual. Battle excited him, not that he enjoyed violence, but it reminded him he was alive and with the skills pummeled into him growing up, he had confidence enough to know that if he took battle too seriously, he would lose sight of what really mattered. With the enemies defeated, and being assured so a he stepped forward: Zidane sheathed his daggers into his scabbard.
The thief was clearly enamored with the chest, his blue eyes nearly glowing with intrigue. His tail began to lash about rapidly and his heart began to race. It was the same feeling he got when he entered battle, It was a tight pressure in the chest that made it hard to breathe. Hands became sweaty, making gloves a reliable tool of the trade. His muscles would tighten in preparation of the possibility of a trap. These older chests often did not have traps themselves, but they often trigged rather curious mechanisms that have left him hanging one way or another. That was when a tail came in handy, after all a master of escape had to have an advantage.
At Squall's words Zidane paused. He had rubbed his hands together hungrily, debating on just how he would be greeted by the shining gems he expected. Squall did have a valid comment, which probably deserved a bit of explanation. He was not sure, but he felt compelled for some reason. He did no feel bad about the way he was raised or the only thing in his life that he knew, but he wanted to at least quell a few of those questions so he did not look so -- thiefy. Zidane turned to look to Squall ad smiled brightly.
"At first, I thought so too, but it really isn't the treasure, per say..." For a long time he felt that it was perhaps the valuable gems and coins he found in these chests that made the chase worthwhile, but no matter how much gil he had it changed nothing.
No matter how much gil he made he would still return home, only to sleep in the rafters of their Clocktower. He would not wash his skin in those masking colognes that gentlemen seemed to fancy so much. Heagehog Pie Casseroles and the fine Mist Continent Roe would fill his empty belly after he lost out on a night of having fun, after having to scrounge the streets for ever gil pouch just to have a drink at the pub. It was never enough to save ever orphan kid on the street. It was never enough to give them something better than a warm meal. All of his memories concerning treasure hunting was something he did with his family. They had accepted him, however strange and loud he could be. They had kept him warm when the winter months made it hard just to sleep with but a match left to warm a whole tower.
The sandy blond thief crouched down and laid his hand over the surface of the lid, as if caressing a lover with gentle hands. It seemed to be jammed. He reached back to his holster and peered over his shoulder at Squall.
"It's the adventure. The people I meet and the people I part with." He paused and smirked as he jammed his dagger into the lip of the chest, only to be pleased by there being no trap triggered. He looked up as if to listen, but silence. "It's the stories I can take back with me, 'cause in the end a pocket full'a gil is never enough..."
He pried open the chest's lid only to find a belly full of gems weighing the chest. Well maybe it was also about the glimmer of hope that he could use this stuff to go gambling and try to fight for a better chance to beat those odds society has forced on him. He always loved a challenge. He grinned, teeth baring in joy. There was no hiding the joy that escaped his mouth, and sparked motion in his tail.
"Jackpot!" He chuckled. He seemed to be picking around the goods before he spotted an odd gem. It looked a lot like the one he had snatched earlier. WIth his choice made he grabbed it and received his second Purple Gem. They had an odd glow, if anything. "Best to not get too greedy." No odder words fro ma thief, but from an experienced thief, weighing yourself down with treasure was not a good idea either.
He motioned to the big door to ask Squall if that was their goal. If Squall looked away he would quickly slip the gem into his pouch with the other. If they were going to explore the whole castle, they best step to it! Inside the chest the beast furrowed its brows at its second gem being taken! Fangs went to snap down at the lashing tail, only for the chest lid to slam closed again, startling the thief to prance forward.
"Whoa! Let's get going before someone else pops out of the shadows!" Little did he know, these were words no truer spoken.
The disgruntled creature slithered off into the shadows of his treasure once again and waited for his chance to stalk the pair.
