Three weeks had passed since his adventure with Zidane. There Squall sat on a bench in the Marketplace, twirling the blue gem around. So far he had been to a few planets, and learned quite a few things. However, he made very little progress in finding the people who matter to him.
Well now he truly knows how Sora had felt. That boy had traveled across many worlds trying to find his two best friends. At the end of his adventure, Sora had finally found them. However, would the Lion manage to find the one he loves with all of his heart? One thing was certain, he would never give up.
Still twirling the blue gem around in his hand, Squall almost seemed mesmerised by it. Today was actually a relaxing day. There had been no reported Heartless attacks. Not to mention there was no criminal activities happening. Everyone who inhabited Radiant Garden was in peace.
Of course that was all thanks to himself, Yuffie, Cid, Merlin, Aerith, and of course Cloud when he makes his appearances to help. Leon remembered when that horde of Heartless had shown up. It was the day himself and the others were helping Sora. Not to mention when him and Cloud where fighting back to back.
Those were some fun times...

Rinoa was very lost.
She was utterly, hopelessly lost. It was not the first time she has come to a new world and found herself unable to really evaluate her positioning. For a rebel leader she was pretty helpless when it came to mapping anything outside of a railroad or city street. This was definitely not a normal city street. Tall walls blocked off vision, strange passages did not quite lead her to where she thought they would. She wanted to go down a road, but ended up on the top of the Borough. To add to that list of things, she was hungry! A growling stomach would finally defeat the wandering princess and lethargy would hit like a ton of bricks. A second growl would finally send the woman crumpling to the ground.
Beside her, her canine companion would jump back as Rinoa scrunched up and pulled her legs to her chest. She buried her face against her knees and sighed. She had been so hopeful, that this was the path to Squall! She had asked around. She was not expecting it really, not expecting to finally find the world where her true love hid, but it would never be that easy! Each person would point her into a different direction until she was lost, hungry and hot! Oh furiously hot. Angelo would whine and bump her nose against Rinoa. It was possible the canine felt a sense of obligation, but even her sharp nose could not quite find Squall in the maze of a city. The dog would press her cold, wet nose against Rinoa's bare arm only for the sorceress to flail out and drop onto her back.
"Ouchies..." She rubbed at her head, the cold, concrete ground not meeting her back and head gently.
Angelo crawled over and laid herself beside Rinoa. The woman let out an exaggerated sigh. Everything was against her today! She had not the strength to go on! She gave a pout as she stared up into the sky.
"He got my letter, right Angelo?" She looked over to her partner, hope glittering in her chocolate pools. Angelo's stubby tail wagged as the dog let out a confident bark! She nodded. "Of course he did! I put all my love into it! Maybe it wasn't enough..." Despaired by her current state the witch would roll over and bury her face into the furry side of her partner.
Kicking about uselessly she would simply slump, arm slung over Angelo's soft and warm hide. Rinoa's muffled protests would vanish into the thick coat of fur as she tried to fight her worries and the various, superficial problems that plagued her on this journey. She was so close, yet so far. Angel merely comforted her mistress, but her ears would perk up as she heard something in the distance. Rinoa sat up, as Angelo moved to follow her motions. The hot, tired and hungry Sorceress would kick off her boots with a relieved stretching of her legs. She looked over to Angelo who seemed tense about something.
"What is it girl?" She wondered as her fingers would hook into her boots and, the now barefooted princess, would rise up and turn to face what worried Angelo so.
Hobbling toward Rinoa appeared to be a small Shadow Heartless. She tilted her head at the creature. It seemed rather adorable. It slowly hobbled closer, twitching erratically. Rinoa cooed at it and crouched down to its eye level.
"Aww, come on Angelo it's just one of those little Harbingers. I mean, they all can't be that bad right? Come here lil guy!" Rinoa held out her hand to the creature.
Angelo growled softly at her Mistress' misguided attempts to befriend the creature and moved to bite down on her blue duster, and tugged! The Heartless scratched Rinoa's hand.
"Owwie! No! Bad Harbinger!" She would whack the Heartless Shadow and stand to her feet, only to be tugged backwards harshly by Angelo. "Angelwhoo!"
As she was pulled back as Neo-Shadow dropped down, its claws barely missing her. As the sorceress looked around, it seemed as if she was surrounded. Oh dear. She was in quite a bind. Looking around she would rush to the edge of he wall and jump over it, Angelo close behind. Rinoa would land on the steps, tripping, and gracelessly tumbling down the rest of the way. Angelo was barking loudly, trying to rouse the sorceress from her haggard condition. Rinoa jumped up and stood, gripping her boots for dear life.
"Come on Angelo, we can't let those Harbingers scare us!" She was determined to fight them off.
Angelo whined and looked up toward the massive Morning Star Heartless as it dropped down on the steps, causing a bit of a shockwave that pushed Rinoa and Angelo back.
"Oooh... oh. Oh!" It was a good time to run, so she did.
Angelo was close behind, barking.
It had been probably a relaxing, peaceful day for Squall, but sometimes his luck was really strange. A spot of blue raced by him, followed by a blur of brown and white mottled colors. A rapid greeting and farewell were offered.
"Hi Squall, bye Squall!" Rinoa would squeal and dash around a corner.
Racing after her was a Shadow, two Neo Shadows and a Morning Star.
Luck came in all sorts of packages.
None of them were Rinoa sized.

Little did Squall know his day was going to be completely turned upside down in a matter of moments. Only seconds passed before he noticed a girl in blue with some white and brown zoomed past. In that split second he had heard ,'Hi Squall, by Squall'. With that his eyes lit up as he noticed several Heartless chasing the girl.
"Rinoa?" He said softly. The last thing to move past him was the Morning Star. Leon knew he had to wait to see where these Heartless would take him. Most likely they were chasing the girl. Quickly, he grabbed his Lion Heart and chased after the Morning Star. This little 'parade' had led him to a very open back way. However, at the end of the alley way was a very large brick wall.
So it was a type of a dead end, persay. As this 'parade' came to a halt, Squall noticed the Shadow, two Neo Shadows and a Morning Star. Finally, his eyes jolted past the Heartless and he noticed Rinoa and Angelo on the other side of the Heartless. "So much for a peaceful day." He said softly.
With no hesitation, Squall charged towards both of the Neo shadows. Once in range of the first one, he made a quick downwards slash. However, the second Neo Heartless noticed his attack, and attempted to attack Leon. Seeing it coming, Squall moved his Gunblade in such a manner he managed to use the blade to block the attack.
As a counter, Squall made a counter attack aimed for its neck. The Neo Shadows neck was hit with such force its head was practically cleaved off. Its body was soon dissipated into a black mist that vanished from this world. Quickly, Squall brought up his Lion Heart into a defensive stance to block an incoming double swipe from the first Neo Shadow.
Soon the Heartless relentless attacks had ended. With that, Squall took several seconds to find an opening. Ironically, his blade pierced right through where its heart would be. This attack had caused the Neo Shadow to disperse into nothingness. With that only the Morning Star and Shadow are left.
Leon wasn't going to have this today. He had finally found his lover and he wasn't going to have the Heartless ruin it. Squall had been searching from the first moment he could. Carefully, he began to take several steps backwards towards Rinoa, keeping his eyes on the last two Heartless. "So did you miss me, Rinoa?" He said with his back to her, and his blade pointed towards the Heartless.

Rinoa ran around the corner with Angelo at her heels. She came to a stop when she nearly ran into a brick wall, taller than she could climb! The sorceress pulled her arms to her chest and hugged her boots protectively. Oh why was she always in the middle of such troubling situations!? She did not even start it! All she wanted to do was to pet the little Harbinger and prove it was good deep down inside. Oh she could accept the fact that she was wrong, but she would accept it begrudgingly and gracelessly! She squeezed her eyes closed when suddenly Angelo began to bark loudly, jumping her way in front of Rinoa.
There was a ruckus that caused her to flinch. Peeking an eye open most sneakily the woman would peer beyond her black, and hazel highlighted bangs in an attempt to observe the nature of the danger she had inexplicably and unsurprisingly, thrown herself in. The Harbingers seemed to have been attacked by another figure. It was a bit dark in the dead end, the wall casting a long shadow as the sun had climbed beyond the reach of the clouds. Whoever it was, the Harbingers would not stand a chance. Whoever it was stood with their back to her. She turned her eyes up shyly. That figure seemed to play tricks with her mind, though more specifically her heart.
The Shadow had been tempted by the heart that belonged to Rinoa and lunged for her, but before it could get passed Squall, Angelo lunged out and took a bite out of the enemy. Angelo's Rush attack was always quite accurate, and even more deadly. With the Shadow taken care of Angelo would back herself up behind Squall, wagging that happy back end. She recognized him! This is who they were looking for! It was her mistress' favorite person! It was the least a dog could understand about complicated human feelings. Rinoa studied the figure in question. That tall form with broad shoulders and scruffy hair settled against the white, furred collar of a leather jacket. What stood out most was the red symbol on his back. They were familiar. She would unconsciously reach behind her to brush over the fabric of her duster.
Was it.. him?
"Squall...?" Her voice broke a bit as she swallowed the tears.
Now she had seen him running by, of course, but she was not getting teary eyed from realizing in a late occurrence. No. It did not mean she did not miss him, nor was not happy to see him. Frankly she always believed she would run into him again, just not run into a bunch of Harbingers in the process.
"I fell down the stairs running from the monsters..." She pouted. "You're gunna save me?" As if that question needed asking, but she was clearly planning.
Yes. Rinoa Heartilly had a plot.
The moment her dear Squall slew the last beast she would glomp him with all the turmoil releasing from her hot, hungry and tired heart.

Boy was Rinoa hasn't changed one bit. Of course that was one of the things that attracted Squall to her. "Monsters? You mean the Heartless?" Squall said softly. How could she not know that these creatures were Heartless? She probably had been searching for him as well right? Whatever the case this wasn't the time to be wondering about the little things.
He still had to deal with the Morning Star before him. "Of course. I have to save my princess right?" With that being said, Squall was even more determined to protect her. Leon charged towards the Heartless, but before he could get close it had made a enlarged punch towards him. With no hesitation he ducked down and continued over to the Heartless making a swift strike to his lower half.
Out of retaliation he had made a couple of spinning punches to his chest, which knocked him back several feet. Leon could feel the pain from the hits. It wasn't something pleasant to feel. Soon a blue energy smothered his gunblade. Squall was getting ready to end this with his Renzokuken. Once fully charged, he blitzed towards the Heartless with astonishing speed.
Now being in range, Squall unleashed the Renzokuken. Making seven powerful attacks in total. This caused the Morning Star to burst into a cloud of darkness that soon vanished from this world. "You should be more careful Rinoa. The Heartless are never going to be friendly with us." It was obvious that he said this in a concerned voice.

She could not help the blush to her cheeks when Squall admitted to his willingness to save her. She was still not very used to that honest Squall. In truth he was taken away from her so fast she was unable to spend the time she wanted with him. When everything became dark and vanished she was terrified. She felt that it had been her fault and everything she had done, up until that point, to keep her powers in check were for naught. She had nearly fallen to that whisper that bade all sorceresses. That deep, husky call. The voice of Hyne himself. She thought she had hurt everyone. That she had woken up as the Dark Sorceress they all had assured her she would never become.
They were wrong, they lied to me
Were the doubts swirling in her head at the time. But than she had remembered what Squall had told her. If she ever got lost he would be waiting for her there. She went there and found nothing. She sat for hours, alone. She waited for her Lion because the Princess could not walk on her own yet. She wanted to find her Knight. Little by little darkness had swallowed the Flower field and a Harbinger came upon her. They were the dark creatures that swallowed everything and took everything from her. She wanted to see him again. She wanted to see everyone. She refused to give up. When she woke up, Angel had come running to her side. She did not know where she was. It was some sort of trainstation. From there she began her journey to search for everyone, because sitting down and waiting for things to happen to you were not going to change anything.
"Squall!" She called out when he was struck.
She flinched and pulled back. She was unable to do anything. She had become afraid of her magic again. She could feel it welling up in her chest. It demanded to be used, to be freed. She wanted to force away that part of her. If she had been the cause of the Harbingers! Angelo growled, feeling the insecurities filling the witch. She had been without her Knight for so long, without her shield. Now what was she to do? Hug him? Yell at him for leaving her alone? Remaining angry with herself for being unable to do a thing to keep at his side, no matter how hard she fought? Squall's words were sobering.
Never be friends?
She felt bad. There was an emptiness in those creatures she pitied. She sighed. Maybe he was right? She crouched down to put on her boots. She tightened the straps and sighed. She sat there a moment and stood up. Her earlier, willful plan to glomp Squall was deflated. She felt as if she was being scolded, but that was not the case at all. He was merely telling her, what he felt, was a solid truth. She stood and walked over to him, her steps slow and deliberate. Her arms were crossed behind her as she looked down shyly. She could not even smart mouth him back.
"Always dashing my hopes Mr. Leonheart!" She spoke with strong sarcasm lining her gentle voice.
She would reach out to take his hand into her own. She would try and brush her fingers over the material of his gloves before allowing a weak Cura spell to ghost over his hand and flow out through the rest of his body. She frowned, having to use magic again, but it was for his sake. He did promise to protect her from this after all, herself and everyone in the world. She wondered if it was still the case. It had been so long. Her brows furrowed as she felt tears tickling the edges of her eyes. She shook softly and let them flow. So many emotions flooded her in that instant.
"I'm sorry." She was sorry for everything.
Leaving him behind. Being unable to find him. Doubting him, herself... She was sorry she hadn't much else to say but admit to the fact she was earnestly sorry. She chuckled, sniffling as she rubbed at her eyes, pushing the tear stains from her cheeks. Angelo whined and stood close to Rinoa, who stood as her only remaining emotional support for all that time.
"I-I caused some trouble without thinking. Sorries." She would deflect her own emotions, trying hard to act brave in the light of it all.
She was happy to see him again and happy it was not some wild Chocobo chase. But she was unable to stand on one emotion.

Squall let out a slight laugh as he let Rinoa brush her fingers over the material of his gloves to cast her healing spell. "As long as you're not injured its ok." He said with a gentle smile. There is so many things he wants to talk about with Rinoa, but where should he start? There was so many unexplained things while they were apart. Perhaps they should go back to the market place?
Quickly, he attempted to grab Rinoa's hand and start walking with her. "The Heartless are without a doubt evil creatures. They are born from the darkness inside peoples hearts. Which is why I said that they could never be friendly towards us. Just like a Lion to its prey is how they see us. Humans are simply food for them to eat." Leon said softly.
He knows that Rinoa might not take lightly to this, because she just loves to play nice with everything. Unlike animals the Heartless just wanted to eat our Hearts. "Myself and a few others have created a Restoration committee here. So we just stop the Heartless from attacking any of the innocent people, and try to rebuild this world to his former glory."
Whenever the Lion is around Rinoa, he feels as though he could talk about anything with her. Infact this has to be the most he has talked to anyone in the longest time. Its funny how Rinoa brings out the best him. It is only more of a reason to get stronger in order to protect her. Sure Angelo could do the same, but not against the strongest of enemies.

Was a bit startled when he took her hand. The words he spoke caused her skin to raise with bumps as the sharp knowledge seemed to cut at her heart and bury deep into her worries. It was a tender balance of fear and loneliness. The Darkness that existed within a person's heart? Heartless... that is what these Harbingers were? Is that why the woman was so afraid for her friend? Because there was darkness in his heart? But such emotions were bred through worry and sorrow. He suffered the same as she. The two must have been apart for so long. She could not hep the jagged twist of guilt. She had been unable to perform because she was afraid.
How much darkness has filled her heart?
A Darkness that preyed on the weakness of others was a terrifying concept. Her own form was barely dangled along on strings by her powers. This existence was not only her own, but a record of all the sorceresses who have come to pass. She had a burden to take care of everyone's future and not be another Adel or Ultimecia. Of course she wanted to do good! But there was always that shadow in the future. A time she could not see... A place where she follows the footsteps of the Time Sorceress. Hearing Squall talk so seriously about what he has been up to made he fight the tears that threatened to fall again.
She would instead choose to laugh.
He was talkative and seemed so proud of what he has been doing. Even though he was far away, he still tried to help others. What has she done all this time? She was not sure. She felt that maybe she has done nothing but worry. It was a little pathetic. She would hurry her steps and pull Squall's arm into her embrace. She sighed out feeling the familiar touch of that cool leather against her cheek. It was hard not to cry. She fought so hard against it. The female sighed and smiled as her cheeks flushed.
"Have you been well?" It was weak, at best.
Her voice had slunk back behind the wall of her fears. This place was big and he seems to really have grown accustomed to it. Was clinging to him like this a bit much? Was it selfish for her to want to feel his warmth? It was a strange feeling. She was so exhausted moments before, but it was as if it all had melted away the moment she was able to touch him.
"I've missed...you..." Her voice melted away.

Before they were roughly thirty steps away from the marketplace, Rinoa had soon brought him into her embrace. At first Squall was taken by surprise a little bit. After a couple of seconds he wrapped his arms around her lower waist. It wasn't his first time in this position with this lovely girl. Whenever he had gotten a moment like this with Rinoa, it made him very happy.
Sure he could have these type of moments with Rinoa almost whenever he wants. However, that is under the assumption that she was always going to be with him. As of late he had a hard time just trying to find her.
"I suppose so. I've had quite the adventure though. And you?" He asked curiously. Why was he so focused on trying to find her still? Shes right here in front of him. He had no reason to fret about if he would ever find her again. All that matters is that they are together her and now right? So he should just make the best of his time with Rinoa right now.
Leon smiled when he heard Rinoa faintly say that she missed him. "Then lets stay together forever." He said softly. That was his own way of telling her that he had missed her as well. Yet, he wondered what should they do first. There was so many things to do here. Maybe she was hungry? Perhaps they should go to a cafe?
"Want to go to a Cafe?" He said rather blunt. Squall couldn't really tell if she was hungry, but he had a hunch she might want to get something to eat. After all he needs to make sure his Princess was feeling good. Though one thought did come to mind. The Lion wondered if he would ever see the others.

She smiled and gave a nod at his question. Though in truth it has been a little shaky and she has gotten herself into more trouble than she could sometimes handle, she was relatively well. Now that she had him at her side she has actually come to forget why she was so worried. Squall was always like this. He never let the worrisome things drag him down, at least on the outside. He has always been strong. Even though she puts on a brave face she was always worried about what the future held or what may come. It was turbulent living in a household of a Military leader. After her mother was gone, that tight ship her father ran seemed to crumble beneath her feet. Up until that time she had felt that everything was set in stone. She had not realized life could be so fragile. It only became more noticeable as she grew up. The injustices in the world and the way people thought they could bully others into obeying them without question. What sort of life was that? Maybe that was why she felt so rueful toward Squall. Or maybe she was jealous how he could so easily do as he was told. Either way it did not seem to matter anymore. Her heart was sate feeling him close to her.
When he suggested that they stay together forever the sorceress felt her cheeks heat up. As much as she behaved affectionately toward Squall or tried to cling to him, hearing him admit such things were quite unexpected and made her heart race. It was the knowledge that he meant every word. Squall was not one to simply say things he did not mean, or truly felt. It made her a bit giddy. Angelo trotted along beside them, her stubby tail wagging. It seemed Rinoa was in good spirits again and it made the dog happy. She barked out and raced ahead of them, inspecting the new place.
Rinoa looked up when Squall suggested they eat. "Now that you mention it I was super hungry earlier." Her stomach growled loudly. "Still am!" She giggled.
She had been through a lot lately. But hearing Squall say that word: forever. It made her worry about something. It had been bothering her for a while. Could she be with him that long? She would certainly like to. She wanted to ask him. They were together again! So long as she kept close she could not lose him!

With a slight nod, Squall escorted his beautiful lady to a near by cafe. As they approached one could noticed that this Cafe was named, ' Waters Ripples '. You could also noticed that they have an outdoor area for people with pets, or just to enjoy the nice days that come and go. As a gentleman would do, Leon pulled out a chair for Rinoa before sitting himself.
It had taken a mere two minutes before a waitress had come out to ask what they wanted to order. Squall really wasn't sure what he wanted to have. Perhaps just some sea salt ice cream in a bowl? Or maybe steak and eggs? There is so many options before him that he couldn't really choose. Slowly, his eyes drifted over to the waitress. With a casual smile he said, "I'll have steak and eggs with a glass of milk."
Right away the waitress wrote it down and looked over to Rinoa with a smile. Soon to only ask the girl what she wanted to order. Now that it has come to his attention, he wondered just how hungry she was. Just moments ago, he had heard her stomach growling. Maybe the should've just went to a type of buffet? Well its to late for that now. Besides this Cafe was kind of peaceful.

Rinoa did not seem to mind. She allowed Squall to lead her around. As she observed the area she felt rather rapt with the spell of its charm. She knew Squall would be here, but she had nearly given up hope. Rinoa looked around, slowly turning her head up to the sign overhead. Angelo padded up to Rinoa's side. The sorceress could see the clouds drifting along lazily. After that bit of excitement earlier she was glad it had all slowed down. She did not want to cause trouble so did her best to keep her spirits up. She seemed a bit distracted, but when Squall pulled out her seat she would laugh and seat herself.
Looking to his face she could not help but feel at a loss. He was there in front of her, but he had changed so much. His hair had grown longer and he wore both of their symbols over his jacket. He seems to have gotten so much better at saying what he felt instead of keeping it bottled up. She was not sure how to take this act, this new story he was telling. It was honestly overwhelming. For a long time she had hoped to catch a glimpse of Griever in her dreams, but she was never shown what she wanted. One night she had a Nightmare, at least it seemed like one. She had struggled through the twists of time and pace, only to find Squall trapped between them. She had tried to reach out to him, but no matter how much she called his name, or pulled at his form she could not free him. She could only smile and promise that she would never give up, losing her ability to stand between the worlds.
Now he was here and something danced around her heart, eager to talk with him about everything she has experienced. But she was ashamed.
She had let her powers overwhelm her. SHe became afraid of them. Feeling him close though, they would seem to recede, hiding the pressure their awful, she could not ignore it that it had been there and left a burning mark across her heart. She wanted to hide it, enjoy her moment with Squall. The woman blushed when she was asked what she wanted. She could feel Angelo laying over her feet, the dog already relaxed completely. Maybe she should follow her partner's lead. The sorceress waved her hand apologetically before resting her folded hands on her lap, leaning forward with a smile.
"I'll have the same thing, but can I have some hot chocolate as well?" She nodded with great serious when she was asked if she wanted whipped creme.
Rinoa sat back when the woman was gone and she sighed. Her eyes drew up to look to Squall, her heart racing. She giggled into her hand, bangs falling over her eyes. Squall would never change, even if some of his outward features have. For that she was glad. She had changed to, on the inside. She smiled brightly at Squall. He seemed to be fretting about something again. The way he glanced off to the side or looked down to the ground always gave open indication of his fretting, however minor it was.
"I'm right here Mr. Leonheart~" She cooed teasingly as she drew a strand of hair behind her ear. "You don't have to look o serious, you should be holding me fondly and embracing me!" She wrapped her arms around herself, laughing softly.
If he responded how she suspected he would, she would grin and shrug her shoulder sheepishly.
"Did you... get my letter?" She had put everything into sending that letter.
She had never used her magic like that before. She was afraid that if she used it in such a manner she could become corrupt. The letter had a portion of her heart attached to it, the warmth scrawled along the surface of the paper.
I know a paper can't convey what I really feel or want to say. I am angry everyone left. You all had promised to meet again, especially you Mr. Leonheart... in that place. But it's okay. I was tired of waiting so decided to come find you, just like this letter has. And I am totally confident it has!
I miss you guys, and I am a bit lonely, but that won't stop me. I'm pretty confident that I can take on this test, and bring everyone back together. |
[/color] Squall could likely see it in her eyes. That predatory urge to pounce him in public and idly settle herself on his lap. He should probably distract her. Quickly. You could say that Squall was slightly surprised that Rinoa had ordered the same thing as him. However, having steak and eggs was a common thing to do. So in retrospect he really shouldn't be that surprised. As his eyes had shifted to the left, Riona soon stated that she was right here in front of him. With that his eyes drifted over to her since she was now speaking to him.
Holding her fondly? Embracing her? Squalls cheeks and slightly reddened in response to her comment. If she was serious he had to come up with a good excuse right? On the other hand if she was just teasing him, maybe he should play with her a little bit? "Well were sitting down, and were going to eat soon. Unless you want to sit on my lap?" He with his cheeks turning a little bit more red.
It was obvious he was bad at this teasing or playing around thing. Maybe he should just shut up for now? But how could he? Squall was with the girl that he loves with all of his heart. It was almost impossible to act calm, cool, and collected around her. However, when the mention of a letter he was slightly confused. "Letter? I never had received one." He said with a saddened tone.

| ❤ I don't want the future. I want the present to stand still. I just want to stay here with you ❤ |
She felt her face heat up at Squall's suggestion. It was one thing when she said it, another entirely when he did. The way his deep voice drew over the words were totally suggestive and super hot. She felt the steam raise up in her head and shoot clear out the top. She pressed her hands to her cheeks as she pressed her legs together, nervously shuffling them back. Angelo tilted her head up, as the shelf she had rested her head upon were suddenly moved. Rinoa felt dizzy and moved to pat at the table before grasping a cup of the complimentary water with her thin fingers. Drinking down a good half of the cup she cleared her throat as she set the glass down. She took in a deep breath, her chest puffing out a bit, before she rested her fists on her thighs. She let out an exaggerated breathe and shook her head.
"Don't say such things so seriously." She looked at him as if he should know better! She was very much a hypocrite, but Squall struck her with a critical hit that time.
She pouted her cheeks at his response. She had worked so hard on that letter. To think. She turned her head up and seemed to ruffle ever so at this news. Maybe it was best though? She had written some embarrassing things on it. She had been upset so poured her emotions down on the paper as she did her diary. Ahh -- maybe it was Hyne's will? She sheepish grin drew itself upon her features as she turned her head away. Maybe it was best. It was a bit silly now that she thought about it, though she quietly regretted it and curled up somewhere in the recesses of her mind, moping about the fact her cool magic trick did not work. A letter in a bottle probably would have had a better chance of reaching him than a silly wish on wings. She flinched at her own wording and would stir a bit of self consciousness in the weight of her shoulders. She rolled her shoulders uncomfortably and settled so her legs were straight once more. She was fidgety.
"D...do you mean it though?" She pouted her lip softly. She did want to, honestly.
She wanted to sit on his lap and feel the comfort of his form against her own. It was confirmation for her heart. Though she clung to him all the way here, little did she realize would sitting just a foot from him would bring her such emptiness. She whined. She was so conflicted between wanting to hold him and wanting to eat. Maybe eat while holding him? Kyaa! brilliant idea! Give him trouble for not coddling her! Her private thoughts caused her to press her hands to her cheeks.
"As repayment Squall has to feed me my breakfast~" She nodded sternly. "After all it is your job to protect me!" This and that had absolutely nothing to do with one another! But it was revenge! She had such an awesome and romantic idea and it went over his head!

Squall simply watched Rinoa's reaction to what he had just said. Was she actually embarrassed? Her of all people? That was truly something. How did he get Rinoa to get embarrassed? They still had some time before their food would actually arrive. So what should they talk about then? Before he could actually think of anything, he heard Rinoa ask if he meant what he said.
Once more, Squall began to blush a bit. However, how does feeding her the same thing as protecting her? Perhaps he should just go with it? After all they haven't seen each other for the longest time. So he might as well spoil her a little bit right? "Alright." He said with his eyes shifted to the right. With that he scooted his chair back slightly, which made that awkward rubbing sound with the ground.
"Come sit on my lap." He said while patting his lap. Squall knew that his real challenge was not to start blushing. Not to mention it was going to be a little hard eating, but he would make due. Its not like he was going to say no to her anyways. After all he did say she could. This day was just going to get more awkward wasn't it?
