Azalea looked at the group that had gathered. They were quite an eclectic group. Some looked human, some were very decidedly NOT human. Some seemed nice, some had a mean look about them. Well, regardless, if any of them started any trouble, Azalea was ready to knock them down a peg! "Ok, I bet you're wondering why I gathered you all here!" She then explained everything about the machine, the corruption and the search for clues. "Ok, so all we need to do is find clues that will tell us the location of wherever this huge blob of corruption is!" She then looked at Traverse Town. "This could take awhile..."
Suddenly, a giant die cube appeared and hit her head, nearly knocking her out. After shaking the stars from her eyes, she looked at the die that had fallen on the ground. It had a note with only two words on it.
"Roll Me."
Azalea beamed. "Maybe this will help us! It's a start, anyways." She picked up the die cube and found it rather light. She rolled it and it bounced down the square they were in. It showed a five. "Is that good?" Azalea asked. Suddenly, lighted squares appeared before Azalea, five to be exact. Azalea tentatively stepped forward. When she made the fifth step, a card appeared in a flash of light and floated before her. She took it and read what was on it. It merely said. "Dodge the pit of vipers."
"Is that a metaphor for somethin-" Suddenly, the ground opened beneath her and she only just managed to cling to the side of the pit. Beneath her, at the very bottom, were hundreds of snakes, hissing and already lunging at her. "AAAACK! IT'S NOT A METAPHOR!" She clambered up out of the pit and immediately curled up in a corner somewhere. The pit disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared.
It would be up to the group to search for clues, it would seem.
-------------------------
Ok, so here's how it's going to go. There will be a post order, which is going to be the order in which you all signed up, because I'm incredibly lazy. Thus, the post order is:
Selena Zidane Pete Axiym Kadaj Rogue
The first person shall make their roll using the [*rand] code (Asterisk not included) Then I will make a post stating the event to which the group needs to react to and solve. If solved correctly, a clue will be found. Rinse, repeat for the next person in the order until all clues are found.
LET'S DO THIS.

The hooded woman amongst the crowd frowned and crossed her arms over her chest as she watched the girl ranted about how they were needed to search for this ‘corruption’. Covering her mouth with one hand, she quietly snickered as the oversized die fell on top of Azalea’s head that nearly KO’d her and observed her read the note the came with it. “Probably a bad idea to do what it wants…” muttered the dark keybearer under her breath as Azalea rolled the die cube and gotten a five.
She could only shake her head in disappointment as Azalea stepped forward five spaces and nearly fell into the pit that had suddenly appeared underneath her. The cloaked woman raised a brow at Azalea only after she got herself out and ran to who knows where. “That's a lovely metaphor for coward right there…” ‘Artemis’ walked toward where the die cube was and picked it up with one hand. “You’re never going to become a better warrior if you keep running from the problem in front of you, Azalea.” lightly chided the dark keybearer as she walked forward on the five light steps to stand on the spot to take Azalea’s place and threw the die over her shoulder toward where the group was. Corruption or not; it wasn't like she had anything better to do anyway.

"I-I-I HATE SNAKES! They're all slithery and filled with venom and hubsdfioierg" Azalea flailed as her body shuddered in revulsion. The twenty-sided die, meanwhile, bounced a few times and rested on a sixteen. Sixteen steps lit the way forward. When the group made the necessary amount of steps, a card would appear before them (just like before) and written on it was this:
"Enjoy a day at the races"
Immediately, the group would be teleported to what looked like Disney Town. After a quick look around, they would find themselves on a track of some sort. A race track, to be precise. The roar of engines sounded at one end as the racers in the process of trying to out-drive each other appeared on the horizon. It would seem that if the group's reflexes aren't up to snuff, they would find themselves as oddly decorative hood ornaments.

(Remember, everyone in the group has to react to the event, not just Sel.

Selena heard and snorted at Azalea's pathetic excuses. "Then learn to face them. Fear will only help you become stronger that way." The hooded woman stepped forward the sixteen steps that needed to be taken and picked up the card that appeared. "Enjoy a day at the races...? ....What are...?" The environment suddenly changed and the hooded keybearer dropped the card as her ears heard the engines roared. She blinked several times and shook her head to quickly rid herself of disorientation and test the possibility of a strong illusion. "Sh**. That can't be good..." Selena muttered as her Heartsickness keyblade was summoned to her hand and swiftly casts Umbra Vitis Shield to act like a temporary shield for whatever that is coming toward her. Then the Nightmare realized that Azalea wasn't close enough and if she's still cowering like the coward she was at the moment then she'd would likely get killed. "Damn it Aza!" Abandoning her shield, Selena turns around and bolted while in mid-shift to Eblis. With a few strong flaps of her wings, she flew back and picks up Azalea in her arms before flying high to the skies. ~~~~~~ Abilities Used: Eblis: APPEARANCE With the darkness of her heart, Selena takes on the form of a dragon-like demon of the night. During battle, the most notable difference between this form and her normal form is the increase in speed and strength but a considerable decrease in defense. [Duration: 5 Posts] Umbra Vitis Shield: Selena can raise up many large, thorned vines of darkness to wrap around herself and/or her allies to act like a strong shield. It can be used normally and in her Dark Form. It may also be used in battle and outside of battle. [Cooldown: 1 Post]

I want to shine
The thief was a bit skeptical about things. Staring at Azalea he felt a strange feeling of foreboding overhead. When a giant die suddenly landed on the ground the tailed thief could not help but curl up the extra limb in surprise. He threw out his hand as the blonde key wielder seemed to perk up at its magical presence.
"H-hey Azale--!!" But it was too late, she tossed the massive die.
Gambling was never a good idea when one was drunk, let alone sober. He had it bad enough playing card games, but to take on dice games? Suddenly the young woman seemed to vanish, but her cream clearly indicated she was well-- sort of. He sighed gratefully when the young woman managed to pull herself out of the pit. He put his hands on his hips as he leaned back.
"Wait, what's a hubsdfioierg?" As Zidane tried to process the word and the sudden turn of events, but he found himself confused by the two women and their rather dangerous, back to back actions.
Was this really the only way to crawl their way out of this disaster? Baddies has some real egotistical ways of playing a bad game. They soon found themselves teleported, a place the thief was a bit familiar with. It was Disney Town? But where exactly? All he could see was dirt road in front of him and open space all around. A loud, monstrous growl seemed to radiate from behind them.
The thief was never really introduced to ground based motor vehicles, so the noise was certainly a foreign one and the creepy, seemingly, messages on the papers was really distracting. His tail suddenly bristled as he all but fluffed up as the noise kicked out faster. The thief pushed off the ground and flipped back in hopes of dodging whatever was flying up behind him.
"What the heck?!" The thief was not sure what happened, but he looked around to make sure the ladies were quite all right.

Throughout the whole start of this odd endeavor, one may look to Pete and see the fat cat do nothing but grumble and pout. He did not at all want to be there. Why was he subjecting himself to such lamebrains when he could be doing something important like...recruiting heartless and um...other important stuff! So much was wrong here. The female host was so loud and annoying, almost made him want to bang his head into a brick wall. And the people with him looked like a bunch of loons; what insanity put him in this kooky waste of time? The advise of a spooky weirdo that's who. Doh why does he have to get sucked into this sort of nonsense all the dang time...if only he could go back....to five minutes ago...and not go down that alley...(The story of how Pete got here is full of hijinks but is also cluttered filler and its only purpose is to push on further plots, let's make it optional).
Scene Unlocked: Pete's Tale So there he was, wandering the streets of Traverse Town in search of heartless to add to his grand little heartless army. Minding his own business as he walked the streets of eternal night, eyes peeled like the fat cat he was. Searching ever vigilantly for proper specimen. Eventually his trek would lead him to the entrance of an alleyway, where a loud 'Pssssst' noise would draw his attention. Within the shadows of the alley, he spotted a shadowy figure, who would push a black gloved hand out of the shadows and motion Pete to come near him. Pete at first thought the guy was some crackpot alley lurker, but thanks to his unfortunate cat genes his curiosity got the best of him. Pete cautiously stepped into the alley and toward the shadowy figure. "You got a problem bub?" Pete questioned to the shadow man as he drew near, only to be soon enough startled by a terribly loud noise. He looked behind him and found that a large black gate had appeared where the alley entrance was. Pete swung back toward the figure just as he stepped out of the shadows to reveal himself. Pete's reaction was nothing short of horrified.
It was...A SPOOKY SKELETON MAN!!! Yes, while most people would lose every wit in their reserve upon encountering a sentient skeleton man, but Pete was horrified for a different reason. He has already met this spooky man, and seeing him again was a lot like having to eat spinach casserole for the fifth night in a row. That's right, Pete met this guy before. He called himself "George", what a dumb name that was. For a while now George has been hounding Pete to do "quests" he just didn't wanna do! Yet no matter how many times he fled, George would always catch up to poor Pete. Why couldn't he lose this guy? Why was this darn suit clad skeleton dude following him around? Oh it made him furious to encounter him once more, and he displayed his displeasure through words, "D-oh what do you want!? Couldn't you see I was busy? Get to steppin' ya low life and leave me alone!"
George let out a long string of tsks and shook his head, "Oh Pete Pete Pete Pete Petey Pete Pete, I wouldn't have to do stuff like this if you would just do as you were told! How come you don't have any library books checked out?" The mission George has been hounding Pete about as of late was to visit an assortment of libraries in search of stupidly titled books. Pete huffed, "Because I don't gots time for libraries, there are more important duties to attend to! I have obligations, see?" George scoffed, "Oh yes, right. Your little crusade with the witch. How's that turning out Petey? You two conquer any worlds yet?" Pete stuttered, "N-no but we're gettin' darn close! Wont be long before we're in charge of every single world out there!" George scoffed louder, "Yep yep yep I see. Tell me, when's the last time you've seen your employer?"
Pete opened his mouth to let out a loo-loo of an insult but said nothing. George was right, he hadn't encountered Maleficent for a long while. A very long while. "Come on Petey, the writing's on the wall. She just wants you busy while she goes around doing important stuff. Shoot, I wouldn't be surprised if she already replaced you." Pete stomped his foot, "She would never! We gotta deal! She may be a witch but she's a witch of her word!" Pete waved his hands in a dismissive manner, "I don't have no time for this, let me out or I'll clobber you proper!"
George bent down his head so it looked like he was raising an eyebrow and shrugged, "Well alright I'll let you go for now, but just hear me out this once." Pete rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. Not like he could go anywhere. George scratched his shining skull and continued, "There's something going down in the worlds, it isn't pretty. Something about an ever corrupting force. There's a sign up nearby to hunt it down. Now if you were to somehow meet this force and acquire its assistance in a way, I bet you'd reach your goal a lot faster." Pete narrowed his eyes and huffed. Why was he going to take advice from this library loving chump?...then again things have been slow lately. maybe a force of corruption would be just the thing he needed to pick up the pace. Maybe it will even get Maleficent to come find him again! But the suggestion came from George, he couldn't...but his curiosity...curiosity. What made his curiosity always spike when this guy was around? Doh darn those cat genes, he couldn't fight it. He had to go look!
George would disperse the gate and Pete would leave the alley. Immediately he sought out the sign up sheet, just to get a look at it. Not to sign up and junk. Well that's what he truly wished but when he encountered the signup at last, he found himself almost instantly signing his name on one of the many lines. What was he crazy? No he couldn't do this junk! he wouldn't!...oh look he was.
Oh well can't change the past, no matter how convoluted and nonsensical it was. Pete stood by as the host girl rolled some sort of magic die and almost fell into a snake pit. Pete was hopping she would actually fall in and he could leave but there was no such luck to be had. She pulled herself up and another chick rolled. What was with the board game set up here? This corruption force had a twisted sense of humor...unless it wasn't its fault...he wasn't paying attention to any beforehand explanations.
Anyway the other girl rolled and a day at the races was announced. Pete blinked once and suddenly their surroundings had change. He was back in Disney town! How was that possible? He was pretty darn sure that there were all sorts of spells in place to keep him out of there. Pete didn't have much time to think as the sound of speeding vehicles would come near! Pete's eyes shot wide open as the racing vessels came into view and scrambled to figure out a way to keep himself safe. After a moment, he thought up a grand idea and bumped his fists together.
there was a flash of light, and suddenly Pete could be found in a hamster ball like force field (That's Right Lunkheads, Pete's Invincible!). Pete laughed as the vehicles came closer, surely they could not break through this-BOOM! A vehicle hit Pete head on and flung his force field clad self into the air. At first he scoffed as he found himself unharmed, but then he realized that he had gotten way too much air and was not hurtling toward the ground. Pete yelled out as he descended, reaching upward in an attempt to stay airborne. His force field hit the ground and popped. he would bounce off of the impact of the pop and soon land squarely on his back. As birds flew across his eyes Pete uttered, "Oh my back..."

THROUGH BALANCE
Axiym was most displeased. Her shaded eyes scanned the starry night skies, listening carefully for one of her masters to give her instruction. Neither one of the deities had so much as given her a word as to her task here in this world, this place they called Traverse Town. It was aggravating to be ripped from the middle of meditation, only to be told nothing and forced into a situation she was not aware of, in a world she had not seen before...But the Judge of Fate kept her thoughts to herself, and her gaze held at the glittering gems above her.
"You will aid them, Judge, in their task...they await in the First District." Axiym only gave a curt nod, turning on her heel to meet up with the rest of her group. The voice had almost certainly been that of Cosmos, and the woman was quite glad to hear it. After months of obeying Chaos's every whim and fancy, a change was most welcome. Still, even the goddess of Harmony had her flaws...she was often more cryptic, and appeared to her far less than Chaos...of course...her influence was stronger, and therefore she needed Axiym far less.
The Judge of Fate paused, scanning the First District, finding a rag-tag group of warriors amongst the cobblestones and shops. She said nothing aloud, merely taking notice of their features in her mind for a later use, and stood with her arms folded casually across her chest. Little would make her prepared for the dice that came flying towards the one who seemed to be the leader of the group, although the supposed Goddess hardly flinched when it clonked her upside her skull...nor did she move to aid the mortal, even as the pit of vipers appeared. Axiym smirked underneath hat and veil--sometimes it was amusing to watch them try and comprehend their little worlds all on their own...
But it did make Axiym wonder what had produced the object, and something of its nature made her uneasy. The ability to produce things such as pits of vipers merely by presentation of a card? This stunk of something quite peculiar... The young woman who had been clobbered by the cube tossed it along the ground, suddenly transporting them to yet another realm that the Judge of Fate didn't recognize....a dusty track of some sort, with strange roaring noises right behind them.
Suddenly, her temporary allies began to scatter, though Ryht was hesitant to move herself--there was no telling what it was that approached them, and so she felt it unwise to simply move without knowing the enemy, or which direction it was even going...but she trusted that her group could understand a volatile situation when they saw one, and decided to move as well. Scoffing, Axiym tensed, throwing a Progression spell to evade whatever was coming their way, the plates throwing her thirty (30) meters to the right.

It had been weeks since Blade had seen any action in traverse. He did have the usual stream of boring work. "Walk my dogs." "Look after my cat." "Help I locked myself out of my house." They just kept going on and on and on. That is...until he had found the job with one spot left. The search for the corruption had promised a sense of adventure.
He appeared at the desired meeting spot on schedule to find that there were a few people who didn't seem human. There were also a few that he got a bad vibe from though usually the vibes were less than accurate. He leaned against the wall and watched as the giant die hit Azalea on top of the head. He noticed a familiar face and chuckled at the memory of the last time he had encountered Zidane.
He thought about this as he watched the die get cast, and Azalea fall into a pit of snakes. Fortunately she was able to get out and then a woman threw the die. The scenery changed and he heard and saw cars. He reacted instantly and began to move as fast as he could, dodging cars and people. He saw Selena change into a demon-like form before he found himself dodging to the right of a car and ending up next to Zidane.
Zidane, was not moving. "Move it Zid! I don't want to get squashed and neither do you." He looked frantically around at the others. "Someone throw the die!"

As the group did whatever they needed to do to evade the racers, the racers themselves were trying to evade the group. This involved a lot of wide turns and a few racers running off the track. The racer that had hit Pete was sent careening and was out of commission. As they drove off, the group suddenly found themselves back at Traverse Town, at the space Selena was before she rolled. The die appeared in front of them again, but this time with a small item. It was a note that said, "At the sound of the tone, the time will be nigh." Once the note was read, a chime would be heard throughout the area. The die awaited the next player... ---------------------------------------- Zidane is the next to roll!

I want to shine
Zidane managed to dodge the vehicle, only to land flat on his -- ass. With a grunt Zidane would push his hands flat against the ground and push himself up. His tail flailed frantically as he righted himself, recapturing his center of gravity, which was quite smaller given his size when compared to everyone else. Zidane was not getting any sort of good vibes from this game. Gambling was supposed to be fun, especially when he got to cheat at them. It was a lot harder to cheat at die, but it was not impossible.
He crossed his arms over his chest and approached the unsafe cube of random chance. He rolled his head and sighed as he snatched off the sign. "Seriously? This can't be the kinda trick we gotta deal with to find the treats!" Not that he was a yellow feathered Chocobo or nothing, it was just that two times, out of Crystal knows how many possibilities, were bad end.
The smaller male flexed out his body, stretching his torso for what would surely be... a nasty catch. He stepped forward, his boots clapping against the ground. With a sight the thief raised the hefty weight of responsibility over his head. Hopefully nothing bad would come out of this, but he knew that a stream of bad luck led to something really nice... he hoped it was really nice. With a grunt the Genome let the dice fly. He gave a short prayer. He had some ladies about to impress after all, and keep safe.
Come on, Daddy needs a new tail warmer! [#@rand#=19.667715189047158%@]

As the die rolled and bounced before showing 20, all was silent. Then the group could hear the rushing waves of the ocean. Which was odd, because Traverse Town was not known for being near bodies of water. Suddenly, the group would find themselves on a ship on the high seas. However, it was in the middle of a storm and the waves were causing the ship to rock heavily. Wind and rain coated the group in icy water as they checked their surroundings. Soon, they would hear a shout that was both foreboding and ominous.
"MAN THE CANNONS! IT'S THE FLYING DUTCHMAN!"
The group would see a ship that had seen better days. The crew, from what could be seen, were fish-human hybrids. They could also see cannons with three barrels instead of the normal one. And they were prepared to fire.

With the exception of one, everyone else seemed to have done fine with dodging all of the race vehicles that had tried to run them over. When it seemed that the race was over and the scenery returned to normal, the demon flew back to the ground and promptly dropped Azalea back to the floor “I’m not going to save you’re a** next round, Aza.” The sound of the chime sent a shiver up her spine but she shrugged it and whatever outcry the other keybearer may give her off, she walked back to the group where a monkey-tailed boy tossed the dice. Suddenly the scenery changed to that of a storm at sea causing her to lose her balance and fall over. ‘Artemis’ also became soaked thanks to the rainstorm and the ocean waves causing her mood to immediately plummet; she heavily disliked the water and its usual effects on her wings. However thankfully in this form, her wings were of a somewhat leathery texture and more resilient against rainwater but it also left her freaking cold due to the lack of clothing the form had since it sacrificed defense for higher power and speed. Selena shivered as the rain hits her and wraps one wing around her and flattens the other against her back as she shakily stood back up. “That can’t be good…” mused the keybearer, spotting the Flying Dutchman. “’Man the canons’…?” muttered ‘Artemis’ as she spots a cannonball from the corner from her eye rolling toward her and the idea sparks inside her mind. Unwrapping her other wing to fold against her back, she quickly scoops the cannonball up in one arm and bolting toward the nearest canon facing the Dutchman and sticking the cannonball in there before moving behind it, attempting to spark the fuse with the small pale flame of Heart’s Blood in her hand. “I certainly hope you like seafood folks because I certainly don’t.” It was a poor attempt at humor as she watched the canon fire at the Dutchman. ~~~~~~~~ Abilities Used: Eblis: APPEARANCE With the darkness of her heart, Selena takes on the form of a dragon-like demon of the night. I want to shine
Zidane nearly lost his balance, arms flailing around as he caught his footing: his heeled boot skidding back on what was now the deck of a ship?! What the heck was going on here?! Looking around he found himself, and his strange menagerie of gathered, and hopefully in the case of some, temporary allies. The smell of salt and the shouts of overworked man hit his senses hard. He was on a ship, but not just any ship: one of the sea.
He heard the cry of men manning cannons and he felt a pit of uneasiness fill his stomach. No way man! The thief looked up and lashed his tail out in annoyance. The girls seemed a-okay, for now, but he wondered how long that would last. Suddenly one of the finely feathered femmes suddenly took on a whole new form, and of a dragon! This sent chills down the thief's side, in no way prepared for the sight of a dragon! He never had good run-ins with them and has grown a distinct fear of dragons.
He cringed a bit, but there was no time for that! Well, damn. The thief was used to working on a ship, and though this one was in sea and no in the air, the premiss was the same, right? He hoped. The thief would rush toward the banister and jump clear off, but in the stead of going overboard he would wrap his tail around the post and swing down to find the portholes. He felt safer not being up top with the dragon lass. The Genome called up as he landed on he edge of the entry ways
"Where the hell is that dice? Roll it!" This was way out of hand.
He looked for a way to try and get in so he could set fire back on the ugly Sahagin-looking enemies. Man, Sahagin looked a lot prettier than they did!

By the time Pete decided to sit up and shake those stars out of his head, the environment returned to its previous state as Traverse Town. Pete shakily got up and cracked his back as the die was rolled once again. Pete noticed this and gulped. So soon? He barely got out of that last one alive! Oh dear, hopefully the next terrifying event will only torture the kid rather than everyone...
That was a bit too much to hope for I guess. Cue everyone being transported to a sailing ship in the middle of a raging sea and sky. It took about ten seconds before the rocking of the ship made Pete seasick. Eventually it became too much and the poor cat ran to the railing of the deck, cheeks puffed out like a greedy hamster. As he, ahem relieved his gut, the Flying Dutchman approached...from the other side of the ship. Thus, as he recovered from his little fit, Pete was a bit slow in understanding why everyone was running around in a panic.
He would only realize what was happening as the ship's canons were fired. Pete gazed onward and gasped loudly as he spotted the ultimate ghost ship preparing to attack. Pete whooshed his head back in forth in search of a way to keep himself safe. It didn't take long to notice the crow's nest and think it to be the best option to save his behind. Pete ran toward it, pushing whatever got in his way to the ground. When he latched onto the pegs that led up to the nest, and got about 2/3rds of the way up before losing his grip and falling on his back. Cue more stars and complaining about his once again achy back. Dang it Pete get it together!
