Another successful venture out into the world and looking for artifacts and treasure. The places that he had been to, the things he had seen, it was amazing. He wished that he didn't see it all by himself, should have probably asked Terra or Edgar to come with him. Why didn't he go and ask them of course? He figured that the King was too busy getting his kingdom back in order and as for Terra? Locke had no idea where the girl was nowadays, which was funny as he figured no one knew where he was. Well, at least he had this sack filled with his loot that he had acquired over the path month or so.
There was something else that happened during his travels that he's still confused about. While he was looking for some treasure in a ruins he stumbled upon he was attacked. What was strange about this attack was the monsters, or the creatures that attacked him, didn't look like they were from this world. They weren't exactly tough but one of them managed to get a good hit on Locke and the man still had bandages wrapped around his stomach, the wound was on his side though and looked pretty bad.
He wouldn't worry about the wound as much but every once in a while when he would check it he would notice that it wasn't getting any better. In fact it looked as if it was getting worse and he would see what appears to be a black liquid come from his wound. As of now he was just ignoring it, if it got any worse he'd definitely have to go see a doctor or something. Locke had tried to use his magic to heal it faster but nothing was working at all. It was quite frustrating to tell the truth but he wasn't going to let that bring his spirits down.
Now it was getting late and Locke was in need of a place to stay for the night and he just so happened to be placing a familiar place, Kohlingen. Locke wasn't sure if he should return to his hometown but he did have a empty house waiting for him if he ever decided to come home. He didn't want to but his wound was getting to him so he decided it was the best course of action to take, despite how much he didn't want to do it.
It was dark so Locke could easily sneak into the town without alarming anyone, which was his goal. The treasure hunter made his way swiftly and quietly through the town and toward his home. "Phew, made it!" The man sighed as he walked into his home. The first thing he did was light a candle and head to the spot where he hid all of his loot. After he hid his loot he tossed off his jacket and shirt and inspected his wound, it still looked bad. He wrapped it back up again and then went into the kitchen to see if he could grab anything to eat, he was starving.

The nighttime breeze played with her golden locks as Celes closed her eyes to savor the fresh air. She made it to her destination, but it was getting late. Maybe after speaking to him, she'd stay at the inn until sunrise when after, Setzer would come back, hopefully with the others. She chanced upon the gambler when she passed through Jidoor, giving her a ride to town after she told him about Edgar's plan. The man was more than eager to help and promised to round everyone up, leaving Celes enough time to talk to him.
Him, Locke Cole, self-proclaimed treasure hunter extraordinaire. She heard he had been around a lot, and she knew he had more stories to tell this time around. Her stomach knotted with the thought of what she'll say when she saw him again, their quick meeting at the Opera house disturbed by a raging Behemoth. As she walked into the town's vincinity, she couldn't help but fumble nervously at het sword, chewing her lips softly as she neared the door.
"Pull yourself together, Celes, you're just going to tell him about Edgar's plan. Nothing more." She said, the last two words eliciting a sharp pang of longing in her heart. There really was nothing more to be said, Locke made that clear when he disappeared after the last battle. Yet she couldn't help but hope there's still more, there should always be.
She raised a fair hand and gently knocked at the door.

After scrumming around the kitchen for a bit, Locked had decide his meal would just be a loaf of bread as he was too lazy to make a actual meal. He then headed back to the spot where he hid his loot and was looking for something in the sack. During his travels Locke had found something that was going to be extremely important to him. Once he had found it he smiled and put it in his pocket, he wanted to keep it close to him at all times, it was that important. Though he probably wasn't going to be able to do what he was planning for a bit, it was still nice to have it.
The man went back to eating the loaf of bread as he sat down on his bed and started to spin one of his daggers, a habit that he recently started anytime he wanted to think. What was he thinking about exactly? Where he'd go next and what he wanted to find for his next hull of treasure. He had heard some rumors about ruins that no one has managed to come back from. That sounded like one hell of a challenge that Cole wasn't going to ignore, who would?
To his surprise there was a knock at his door, who would come at this hour? Locke shrugged and but his dagger away before he walked to the door. He went to grab his shirt and jacket but figured it didn't really matter. Curiously, the treasure hunter opened the door and was completely shocked as to who was standing before him. "Celes?" The last time he saw her was at the opera house and he disappeared after that. "Come on in Celes," Locke had managed to say as he opened the door wider and made his way further in his home. There was so much that he wanted to say to her but first he would hear what she had to say. "What brings you here?" He asked as he tried to hide his bandages by using his arms to cover them….it wasn't really working.

She knew that seeing him in much calmer venues would elicit something in her, but she didn't know just how strong they were. Blue eyes met his for a moment before looking away, drowning at the intensity of emotions and coughing. She was thankful it was dark outside or else the tell-tale blush would surely give her away, "I...what happened to you?" She stopped, alarmed at the bandages on his stomach. She quickly went inside, closing the door behind her, not taking her eyes off the wound and frowning, "Is...are you alright? Who did this to you?" She said, pulling him over to sit on one of his chairs, her tone demanding, reminscent of her days as a General as she gently pried his hand away from the wound, searching his eyes for permission to go through it. If he does give it to her, she would then take the bandages off slowly, her face never flinching as more of the wound was exposed, "Edgar sent me to find you, and the others. Setzer's working on Gau, Relm and Strago. We're going to meet halfway tomorrow and hopefully, Sabin finds Terra." She said, gently rolling the bandages away, slowly to minimize the pain.
"Is this from another one of your escapades?" She suddenly blurted, her face a pure look of concentration as the last of the bandaged came off. The wound looked bad, and she recognized the substance coming out from it. She looked up, frowning at him before putting up a hand over his stomach, "How foolish of you to go alone, you should know better than this." She scolded, letting the magic pour from her fingertips. She didn't know if it was enough to kill the substance thoroughly, but at least it could help with the damage, "Cure" She murmured, watching as the wound started mending. Only time will tell if it was enough.
It was for a moment that Celes just looked at the mending wound before she suddenly realized how awkward it might have been for Locke to be whisked around by her in his own home. She hastily looked away, hiding the blush that covered her cheeks and coughed "You can put fresh bandages on them once it finishes healing all it can...I trust you can do it yourself." She added as an afterthought before falling silent, he fingers tapping on each other.
"How..how have you been?" She started, in spite of herself. Celes knew there wasn't really much to talk about, what could she say to the man who broke her heart? Of course she knew Locke might have never loved her in the first place, he did have Rachel after all. It was not his fault, and Celes knows; although she couldn't help but feel longing for the man she can never have.
Like the soldier she was, she whisked her emotions away and put it under lock and key.

Despite Locke's efforts, as poorly done as they were, Celes had seen his bandages. He couldn't help but blush as she brought him down to one of his chairs. Locke would let Celes take of the bandages but he didn't make eye contact with her as she did it, he would die of the embarrassment. Here he was being helped by Celes again, the first time being in the opera house when he was hit by the Behemoth. It was starting to make him feel weak and useless. He had to be strong, not just for his sake but for hers', if anything were to happen to Celes he wouldn’t' know what to do with himself.
"I was out exploring some ruins looking for treasure when I was attack by some creatures, nothing unusual," He was trying to hide the fact that these creatures were not from this world. He wasn't sure if Celes would believe him or not, or how she'd react to that kind of information. The last thing he wanted to do was rile her up to the point where she went on some crazy monster hunting expedition and got herself hurt. He didn't really pay attention to what she had said about the others trying to find each other.
It wasn't that he didn't care it was more the fact that the one he wanted to be with was right here. "You know me, I like to do things on my own. Besides I can take care of myself, I'm the world's best treasure hunter," As he said that he groaned in pain a bit as the wound began to heal a bit. Celes was much better with magic than Locke was and it was extremely apparent seeing as his magic wasn't working well on his wound but hers was, again he felt pretty useless.
How has he been? To be truthful Locke was as of late extremely lonely but he was mainly mad at himself. There was so much he wanted to tell this woman but he was either too stubborn or just plain too stupid to say anything. It was clear to Locke though that she was doing the same thing, he had to say something or he'd go his entire life regretting it. Was it the right thing to do though? Part of him felt that Celes wouldn't believe his words, that he was just using her to replace Rachel.
He was over her though, his failed attempts to resurrect her allowed him to come to peace with what happened in his past. It allowed him to unlock his closed heart, the heart that fell for Celes. As he stared up at her all he was could think was how important she was to him and how stupid he was for not saying anything. In his head he was screaming at himself to say something, to stop thinking about just act. On impulse, the man got from the chair and hugged Celes, holding her close to his body. "I am so stupid," was all he could manage to say as he held her tightly, not wanting to let go.
"You must hate me so much and I wouldn't blame you if you did. I'm a stupid, arrogant man who's to proud to tell you how I feel. I keep using excuses to avoid you, to not say what's on my mind and for that I'm sorry. I understand if you don't want to hear anything come out of my mouth, I wouldn't want to hear anything from me either. I just want to tell you how sorry I am for being so stupid," This isn't exactly what his mind was telling him to say but it was at least a start.

There were only a few times when the Great General Celes Chere was rendered speechless. Once, when Cid gave her her first Runic Blade and also when she first learned to use her Magic. But those things were incomparable to how speechless she was rendered as Locke suddenly enveloped her in his arms, feeling his torso against hers, warm against the cold night.
'I'm so stupid.'
The words made her close her eyes, her heart pounding so hard she felt it was going to burst. She willed this not to be a dream, but she didn't know what to say. What was she going to say to him after this. He saved her the trouble by voicing his heart's content, but as he finished, Celes let out a soft sigh, the words she wanted to hear not part of any of them.
"It's okay, Locke. Everyone's at edge these days, I understand." She said, pulling away from the hug and patting his arm, withdrawing away after the friendly gesture. The treasure hunter was just touchy with his friends, that she repeated over and over in her head. But she never did once see Locke give actions of affection to any of the Returners. She decided that there are more pressing matters at hand, remembering her true goal.
"Edgar sent me here for a reason." She started, doing her best to stay focused and willing her heart to slow down, knowing the light in the house wouldn't help hide her blush now, "There are unknown monsters appearing all thoughout the lands. You might have encountered them during your journey judging from that wound." She said, gesturing to the faint scar that was left, worried that it might open up again if she was not powerful enough to cure it.
"Anyway, we're gathering everyone because we think it might have somethng to do with Kefka. Our powers didn't come back for no reason...I'm sure you have your Magicite working again too." Come to think of it, Locke was not surprised when she used her magic on him, something he should have seen as strange considering Kefka died with the magic of the world.
Kefka is one thing, but it he really tied with those...beings? Celes found herself tapping her fingers on each other once more; a habit forged by sleepless nights full of evil laughter, nightmares about burning villages, and screams from a distant past.

Locke, you are possibly the dumbest person that ever lived and I'm sad to be your subconscious The voice inside of Locke's head was furious with the man and the treasure hunter knew exactly why. The man only sighed as Celes went on about people being on edge nowadays, that was it? She had nothing else to say to him? He was basically about to pour his heart out to her and she goes on about Edgar? Who the hell cares about him! (No offense Edgar) The only people here were him and her and Locke didn't care about why Edgar sent her here, wasn't that obvious?
"Yeah, everyone's just on edge," He muttered, annoyed at himself. Locke had come in contact with this unknown monsters before, they were the reason he was currently suffering from wounds. What Celes had said next ran through the man's ears, how could he have not noticed that before. The fact that he was able to use his magicite again and the fact that she was able to heal his wound, none of that made any sense. Did those creatures have something to do with what was going on? Something was certainly fishy around here and it was no surprise Edgar wanted to get to the bottom of it.
"Those creatures might have something to do with our powers," Locke said a bit absentmindedly. "Wait, what the hell am I talking about?! None of that matters right now," The treasure hunter then stared deeply into Celes' eyes. He wasn't sure what to say at this point, well that was a lie, he knew exactly want to say but he wasn't sure if he could manage it. Locke had been a part of fighting the likes of Kefka but was too afraid to tell her how he felt. To be honest, Celes is a lot more freighting than Kefka.
His heart began to race and his body tensed up, he had to do this! He then got closer to the general and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Even now you're still acting like a soldier, all tough and all business. Not even letting yourself relax or show emotion, funny I say that seeing how I'm hiding how I feel now. Celes, I'm not sure how you feel about me but I have to tell you that the only reason I made it this far was because of you," His heart was still racing and his body still tense.
"You gave me a reason to keep moving on, something to fight for when the world went all to hell. I'm not just saying all of this because I'm trying to replace Rachel, I've moved on, let my past go. I can't just keep my mouth shut anymore. Especially not with what's going on now, if we go on some crazy adventure again I have to tell you before something happens to either of us," He paused for a moment and took a deep breath. "Celes, I love you," His heart felt like was going to explode and he was going to die.

Three words.
Three, simple words registered in her whole being, running through her veins like a warm draft against the cold blizzard Shiva gifted her. She sat in silence for a moment, her gaze never leaving his. His hands, warm on her shoulders, yet it all felt like a dream; like a cruel dream that she would wake up from soon enough.
There was that word he said,'Before anything happens'. But what if something happens? What if something happened to her, or worse, to him, and she was left alone to suffer a fate just like his. To watch a loved one die without even anything she could do. Could she cope through it? Could she take knowing that she had the power but was not able to save the man he loved? Conflicted emotions battled inside Celes' heart, both wanting her to see the pros and cons.
Love is a foreign concept to the ex-General, and for him to tell her that so blatantly, so full of passion was something she didn't know how to respond to. Her first action was to reach with her right hand, caressing his face, her expression remained stoic as she let her finger trace over his boyish features. She memorized every contour, every line, every depth and shallow and his words rang in her ears. But she didn'r know how to respond.
What would happen if she loved him back?
A nagging thought inside her mind is of Rachel, of him saying he have moved on after mourning for just a short while. She needed to know, how he felt, how it was like for him when he found out that there was no way to save her. She needed to know because she did not know what to feel.
She loves him, but she did not know how to start.
"What did you feel, when Rachel died for good?" She asked, letting her hand fall back on her lap, fighting the tears that welled inside her eyes. Celes had never cried, nor will she allow him see her cry. She needed to be strong, if they wanted to go through with this.
"What do you think I would feel, if something happened to you?" She would then add after he finished answering her first question, "The world is in danger, we are all in danger. I won't forgive myself if anything happened to you because I feel the same." She now understood why they were taught to strip themselves away of emotions; Emotions made you weak, and weakness could kill you. Celes wanted so much to love him back, and she does, but he...it will kill her if he should die.
A sudden chill runs up her spine.
"Thank you for loving me...But I..don't think I am capable of that. I...I don't know how to love or what it meant to love. I can't possibly give you all the love you need." She was confused, confused beyond all doubt and all she wanted to do was to curl within his arms and for once, be weak. Her morals did not give her that privilege.

Locke didn't know what his words would mean to her, what kind of effect they would bare. Part of him felt as if he should have said anything but he knew that in his heart he had to let her know how much she meant to him. He felt as if he just released a heavy burden on his heart, keeping all of this closed up and hidden was tearing him apart. Though he had that feeling gone it was so replaced with anxiety as he was nervous as to how Celes would respond. He did love her but did she love him back? Did he just say these words for no reason?
No, even if she didn't feel the same why it didn't matter. This was how Locke felt and it meant more to him than anything else. In the back of his mind though was the idea of them going on some crazy adventure. Could he even bare anything happening to her? To lose someone he loved again and being able to do nothing about it? No, he couldn't bare something like that happening again but it wasn't an excuse to not love her, to not be with her. Despite whatever bad things could come from this Locke wasn't going to try and run away from it, he was tired of running.
"When Rachel was dead and I knew there was nothing I could do about it I felt useless, weak, broken. But at the same time I knew that she wanted me to move on and to not close up my heart and feelings due to what happened. It was hard for me but I managed to move on like she wanted," He had never told anyone this before and was glad he was telling Celes, there was no one else he wanted to open up to.
Her words ran through his head and it made the man turn his gaze from Celes. She was right, he knew what it felt like to lose someone you loved but she didn't. He didn't want her to experience that, no one should. There was no way he'd let anyone or anything kill him, he was way too good to let anything kill him. Locke wasn't going to kick the bucket for a long time and was going to make sure of that, even if it's not for his own sake. It was so sweet that she cared about him so much.
"I managed to survive the world in ruins, I managed to survive fighting that damned clown Kefka. Celes, I will survive anything that's tossed at me as long as I have you in my heart," He would say this as he took the hand that was once on his face and held it tight with his own hands. "Celes you give me enough just by being here with me right now and there's nothing that will change me from loving you. I just want to spend the rest of my days with you Celes and as long as your by my side I will always be happy and I'll do my best to make you happy as well," Locke had gotten lost in her beautiful eyes. He loved her so much that he didn't even care what happened to his world, as long as he was with her. Locke then remembered what he had in his pocket and was tempted to take it out but wasn't sure just yet.

Celes didn't know what to say. With her hand in his, it felt like it belonged there, but at the same time, the foreign sensation overwhelmed her senses. She tentatvely tried to fill the gaps within her fingers with his, reveling as their hands become one, seemingly made to fit with each other. And at that moment of clarity, Celes took a leaf out of Setzer's book and gambled.
"Locke." She whispered, his name a prayer on her lips, and this time, with a tug, she pulled him into her arms. She would then try expressing how she felt, in that simple embrace, in a simple gesture she hadn't done all her life. She allowed herself to start living again.
With him, she felt like she could do anything.
"I...love you too, always have.." She murmured, softly against his ear because there was nothing left to hide. She let go of her guards, shed the former General just to leave the tiny pulse of woman inside her; the woman who loved her man. Her chest felt ten times lighter.
She moved, her hands lingering on his face as she searched his eyes for the words left unsaid, but there were none. They have both bared their desires to one another and there is no turning back. There's nowhere left to hide because all her walls crumbled down. She is sitting in his living room, in her most vulnerable state because for the first time in her life, Celes Chere learned how to love.
"It's my turn....it's my turn to promise to protect you just as you have done for me." She said, smiling her rare smile, the smile she reserved only for him and continued, ”I won't let you die. I don't want to be without you." Her face was a mere inches away, and his breath would mingle with hers. The intensity of her gaze would tell him how much she loved him and she could only close her eyes with a soft sigh, waiting for the moment that made her heart race more than war ever could.

Locke's heart was beating faster and faster as each second past by, he was anxious to hear what she would say. She didn't have to say anything, everything was perfect as it was, just him and her and no one else. The silence was broken when he heard Celes say his name. The man was about to speak but he was interrupted by her embracing him. Locke was a bit shocked and it was obvious on his face as it was a bright red color. Just from this simple hug Locke could tell how Celes felt and the man tightly hugged her back never wanting to let go.
Then she said it, the three words that Locke would have joked about her not being able to say when he first met her. Oh how things change over time, so many feelings developed over those times. Here he was now though with the woman he loved, nothing could ever tear them apart. Not Kefka, not some random creatures from another world. The entire universe could be falling to shambles and it wouldn't separate the two of them. So whatever the future held for Locke Cole he was glad Celes was going to be a part of it.
Her words were so sweet and it made the man to continue to blush as he started into her eyes, noticing her beautiful smile. Everything about this woman he loved, despite what he might have said in the past. "Celes, I won't let you die either. I wouldn't want to be without you and I swear that no matter what's throw at us I'll live and make sure you're with me," He loved her so much and was happy that all of this was out in the open now. No more hiding his feelings or trying to avoid her, it was just him and her now.
Staring at her face Locke knew what he had to do, what he wanted to do. It was something he wanted to do for a long time now and there was nothing stopping him now. The man then closed his eyes and leaned forward to plant a passionate kiss on Celes's lips. With this kiss it would show how much she meant to him. That he would throw away everything to be with her and that he'd go through hell and back just to see her. If he could, he'd stay in this position forever.

The first touch of their lips left Celes in a state so overwhelming, she had to clutch at Locke's shoulders for support. The clutch slowly became an embrace as she wrapped her arms around his neck, clinging on him for dear life, her lips one with his and her passion flaring.
If she would die tomorrow, then there will be no regrets.
She didn't want to let go, but need of air made her and she pulled away, panting softly for such reprieve, yet her eyes stayed with him. There was no hiding her reddish cheeks now, but she didn't mind. She didn't mind him seeing her softer side one bit.
Because he created that side when he loved her back.
"....I...don't really know what to say now." Truthfully, she answered, not once breaking eye contact, her voice shaky. The intensity of the moment they shared cannot be expressed by words, and honestly, Celes wanted more. She wanted more of his touch, more of his embrace, more of his kisses, but it will have to wait.
"Locke...this will be dangerous...maybe more dangerous than Kefka." She started, trying to veer the conversation to something she can respond to without getting flustered, "Edgar will be expecting us to go by the castle in a fortnight. Will you be able to come with us later?" She asked, hoping he would say yes. Being apart from him now will immensely sadden her, and it would worry her to no end. But she understands if he had other things to do. She sensed he might have.
What about her, though, will she have anything else to do before they waged another war? Maybe she'll go with Terra to Leo's tomb, the three of them together again before facing an adversary, gathering strength from the memory of their lost comrade and friend. Maybe Locke will do the same. Maybe he will visit Rachel, and say goodbye.
The thought left a numb ache on Celes' heart.
She stood up, looking around his place as she waited for an answer. His house is small, yet cozy enough just for him to live in. She's sure he has things hidden here and there from his endeavors as 'Treasure Hunter' but she didn't dwell on it more. Celes remembered that this will be her first time to come into his house alone, and it was something she awed upon just as now. There had been so much changes she went through with, all of them for the better.

Perfect, that's what this moment was for Locke, absolutely perfect. As she would wrap her arms around his neck he would wrap his own around her and hold her close to him. The many things that used to clutter his head would disappear and all of his worries vanished. Truthfully he was dreading letting go of over, he felt that if he did he'd lose her forever. He knew that wasn't true but part of him just wanted to stay like this, if not for just a little bit longer. Why did the looming thoughts of them having to go on some dangerous adventure have to ruin this moment?
When he pulled away from her, he was trying to hide the redness of his cheeks but stopped once he realized it was ok to let Celes see him like this. "You don't need to say anything Celes," He said with a smile on his face as he noticed how shaky her voice was. Locke wanted to hold her longer, to kiss her more but knew that there would be another time for that. Despite wanting that he was still overwhelming happy for the first time in a long time he was this happy, it was amazing.
Celes' words made the man raise a brow "Come with you later? Why wouldn't I come with you now?" There was no way that Locke was going to separate from her now, not after everything they just said to each other. "I'm sticking by your side till the end Celes, if the King wants us to show up then we'll show up. Only if that's what you want to do, we could always do some last minute things together and then head to Figaro. Edgar can wait, let's just enjoy ourselves for a bit longer," If he could he'd take Celes far away from here, far away from anything that could harm her.
He knew though that she wasn't the type to just sit idly by as innocence was harmed and this world threatened. The thought of seeing something harm her or worse losing her made Locke's heart ache. The man shook his head, there was no way he was going to let anything to happen to her. As long as this heart beated he was going to be by her side until the end. So many thoughts were running through his head at the moment, he felt that he was going crazy it almost made him laugh a bit.
Since they were going to be on a trip soon Locke figured that it would be time to start packing whatever he was going to need. "I'll be right back," He said to her as he walked into his room, leaving the door upon just in case she wanted to follow which he wouldn't mind. The treasure hunter then took a bag and started throwing some things in it. He knew he had plenty of time to pack but liked to get it done early. As he was packing though he felt a sudden pain where his wound was, it wasn't like any pain he experienced before.
It was so intense it made the man drop down to one knee as he held the spot. He looked down at it and noticed the black liquid again. "Damn it, not now you stupid wound," He was trying his best to ignore it but wasn't doing so well there. There was something else happening, a voice in his head. He couldn't make out the words but this wasn't right, what the hell was going on?! Once the pain subsided he would hid this from Celes, he didn't want to worry her. For now though there was nothing to do but endure it.

Celes looked down and smiled, the calm that she felt inside her heart was so overwhelmingly warm that she felt the icy essence of Shiva herself melting. Her heart was surprisingly at peace, amidst this newfound chaos she had finally found respite, in form of the treasure hunter.
She shook her head at Locke's inquiry, gesturing at the nighttime sky, "We'd have to wait until tomorrow. I was planning to stay at the inn after I talked with you since Setzer will come pick us up tomorrow noon. So...you don't really need to rush." Her words were practically ignored as the ever-eager adventurer jumped up and went to his room, leaving the door open in his excitement. Celes stood up and looked around as he rummaged for stuff, smiling softly at the warm home yet feeling the loneliness emanating from it. Perhaps she and Locke were lonely just the same, but right now she knew that it would never happen again.
There were a few trinkets that crossed her field of vision, most of them sparkling yet she knew they hold no particular value. Maybe Locke was hiding his real treasures elsewhere and she knew he had lots of them. He might be a self-proclaimed Treasure Hunter, but he's a good one nonetheless, and his skills were proven vital to their survival during Kefka's time. The thought of Kefka made her frown; what if he really is back? Will they be able to put him to rest the second time? Is he even connected to these newer creatures of the dark? Or is it something that even they cannot stop? She did not notice herself getting lost in all the memories of the past until she again saw that vision of the burning town of Maranda, and she closed her eyes away from it, not wanting to see those things again.
At least, not right now.
She was pulled short from her musings as a soft thud echoed from Locke's room, and she saw the man on one knee, clutching his stomach. She hastily pushed him gently to sit down, her hands resting on his shoulders and looking at his stomach, "How long have you been hiding this from us? You should have asked for help when you first noticed it!" She said, unraveling the bandages and attempting to staunch the flow with her hands. She noticed Locke grow pale, one of her hands reaching up to cup his face, lightly tapping the thief, "Locke...hey, stay with me!"

The pain was just getting progressively worse as Locke stay in the same position and endured it. He looked down at it a few times and noticed that it started to open up again a bit. To try and subdue it he began to use his own magic to try and heal it. As he felt the magic begin to heal his wound his mind drifted to Celes. If these black creatures could do something like this to him he wanted her to stay far away from them. This wound was bad enough, if they had to fight these things multiple times on their new journey who knows what they could really do.
His efforts to hide this from Celes was for nothing as the woman came into the room and found him in this position. "Well there goes hiding it from you," He managed to say, his voice sounding low and out of breath. The world around him started to become blurry and he could hardly hear Celes. He shook his head and told him to just focus on her and nothing else. "How long? I can't remember, maybe a couple of days to a week," His mind began to become clouded.
His eyes felt heavy and it was harder to keep them open "So tired, maybe I just need some sleep," Locke's eyes looked to his bed and figured that this would be the best choice. Though it could end up being his last sleep if the objective of getting over this required him to be awake. "Celes, will you stay with me tonight? I don't want you to go," Locke was tired of the lonely nights he had to go through. That was a plus side to their last adventures, he wasn't alone anymore. He had people who cared about him and enjoyed him being around.
He then placed a hand on the right side of his face and let out a small groan of pain. "Those creatures that attacked me are nothing like anything we faced before. If Kefka is behind this somehow he'll be much more dangerous than before," He was just worried about her safety. If that clown bastard did anything to her he wouldn't know what to do with himself. He couldn't let that happen, he must protect her at all costs. That's why this wound won't kill this treasure hunter, he had too much to do.
