That last tournament round, while not unexpected, certainly wasn't the way Sora had planned it out.
He had been up against Naminé, Kairi's Nobody and a girl who was a complete mystery to him. Ever since he had seen her in a dream the new Organization had drawn him into capture him, running away from him as if she were in some kind of trouble, she had become more of a puzzling and mystical character to him. Would he ever get to answer the puzzle of who she was, exactly? Sora felt as if he had only began to look beyond a pane of foggy glass, but behind it was even more panes of fogged glass, and that's when his memory would become hazy and elusive to him. He felt like he had met her before, or seen her face and heard her voice elsewhere, but where?
That question my never be answered to him, but all Sora knew, is that she had grown much stronger since he last met her. She was able to summon her own Nobodies, and used a Corridor of Darkness against him - two things which Sora didn't have the luxury of having at his advantage. But really, he had been holding back to test her skills, and perhaps that was the reason why she had bested him. If he had really gone all-out, he was afraid of what might happen to her, or what she would think of him. But, even worse... it felt like it was going against every bone in his body to do if it became more than just a friendly battle, like... he owed it to her somehow or in some time long ago not to see her come to harm. Even if she was the Nobody of Kairi, though, that would have to be the last setback he could afford in this tournament. The next person he was up against, no matter if they were friends of his or not, he made a promise to himself he would go all-out against them soon enough. As he entered the main arena of the Coliseum from the Lobby, Phil was actually present to greet him this time. "Hey, Sora! Your next match is about to begin. You ready to sock it to your next opponent, hero, or what?" he inquired strictly, giving the young keyblader a tough look. Having recovered fully from the last battle, Sora nodded. "You betcha! Let me at 'em, I'm ready." Phil nodded and held up two fingers. "Kid, I've got two words for you: don't hold back." Sora had to laugh at Phil's idiosyncrasy of miscounting the words he said, nodded, and walked out onto the arena. The crowd began to cheer, as Sora looked towards the entrance opposite the arena from where he walked in, curious and with anticipation to see who his next opponent would be.
