The Fruits - Effects
Bananas: If hit twice, they turn into 5 banana peels. If bumped even once they turn into peels as well. If stepped on, they stun the played for 1 post. [RGN | 1 or 2]
Grapes: After they are hit three times, the grapes separate from the vine and break off. Each individual grape can score a goal and count as their own individual fruit with no effect. [RGN | 3 or 4]
Watermelons: If hit, there is a 50% chance you will be stunned for 1 post. This will be determined by your randomly generated number. Odd - Stunned | Even - Unaffected [RGN | 5 or 6]
Pineapples: You will be stunned/dazed for 1 post you if you are hit. [RGN | 7 or 8]
Apples: No Effect [RGN | 9 or 10]
Movements | Abilities
Similar to raids, you can only use two actions per post. However, because you are playing fruitball you must use the following moves to hit the fruits.
Bump - This allows you to jump into the air after knocking the fruit up to pursue it before spiking the fruit toward the opponents side of the field.
Curve - You swing your weapon at the fruit, curving the ball instead of hitting it straight.
Shoot - You "shoot" the fruit in a straight line at whatever you are aiming, be it the goal, or maybe your opponent. (Be careful not to spam a single move or "button mash" as it may decrease your odds of scoring.)
ObstaclesRandomly a staff member may comment and a net will appear on the field. These nets, if a fruit is knocked into them, will shoot the fruit toward your side of the field. They can appear in mid-air and will block your attempts at bumping fruit. These nets will appear for 1-2 posts at a time.
Randomly Generated NumberTo use the generator, you will need to reply to the thread. Posting in the "Quick Reply" will not work. In each post during a mission, you will use the code [rand*] without that asterisk. Depending on the number, this will tell you what fruit appears on your side of the field. If you get a 0, no fruit appeared on your side of the field.
Time Limit | JudgingEach member will need to post within 24 hours of the previous poster. The first round of matches will end in 10 days on October 3rd. The games will be judged on your "Score", "Realism", and "Creativity". 3.. 2.. 1.. BEGIN

And after a grueling battle with the Blitzball player known as Tidus, the former officer known as Aya Brea managed to steal the win in their match. It was an intense round of fruit ball that came down to the wire and while Aya had been taunting Tidus that she would win it was still a bit hard to believe. Indeed, the blonde wasn't exactly the sporty type... not to say she was out of shape or anything but she certainly wasn't on par with full time athletes. She had been incredibly winded after the match, having had to give it her all in both offense and defense if she wanted to keep up with her former blonde opponent. He was a tough cookie that one but like any cookie he crumbled with enough pressure applied and the blonde couldn't help but feel a little ecstatic about her victory. It was rather surprising considering she had been so against the thought of participating originally but she was really beginning to have fun with the all the festivities going on. There was many things going on, the cook off having gotten the most attention out of her as she had saw some rather delicious looking deserts on display. Just the thought alone made her unconsciously lick her lips, the former officer having quite the sweet tooth and when it came to sweets a bottomless pit for a stomach. Yet that would have to wait, for now she had to face off against another opponent. Arriving back on the field once more, she would pull out her baton and grip it tightly, it's length running across her arm as she smirked at her opponent.
"To think I'd see you here of all places... small world isn't it? Or should I say universe?" she started recognizing the man on the other side of the field, "If I remember correctly your name was Deshitana right? Well Deshitana it's nice to see you again and I hope we have a good game... even if it does end in your loss," she teased, her tone showing that she wasn't all that serious about the statement. Whatever the case, she would take a deep breath as she readied herself, taking a stance in the middle of the field as her eyes narrowed on her opponent. Much like Tidus, Aya would watch Deshitana very closely and attempt to determine what her opponent was up to based upon their body language and eyes. She would focus intently on both him and whatever fruit came flying onto her side of the field when the bell was rung and things could finally get started.

The first round of Fruit Ball ended much to Deshi’s relief. While he was use to long battles and getting bumped around that last round of Fruit Ball had actually worn the battle hardened warrior out. He was given a breather as he waited for results not really expecting anything out of it, except a good work out. While he had time, he went to find a mirror and some water, the former to see just how badly the pineapple had injured him. Sure, he couldn’t feel the pain, but that still did not change the fact that the pineapple did have a spiky exterior or the fact that the oversized fruit had whacked him senseless the last match.
With the items he sought gathered, he rested on a bench nearby the area where the Fruit Ball matches were being held. As he rested, he looked in the mirror and was glad to see that the fruit hadn’t done too much damage. There were small cuts from where the spikes had gotten him, but other than that and slight bruising the bump wasn’t that bad. Besides, he was still functioning correctly and had his wits about him so no mental damage had been done either. Good.
He put the mirror down on the bench and settled to drinking his water and relaxing before the next match. Some time later, the horse man Horace came to collect him and he headed back to the Fruit Ball arena with the creature. Once there, he was shocked to hear that he was going to be in another match this time competing for first or second place. A second round was easy to swallow, but to be in the top of something that was not fighting? That was something new and for once in his life, Deshi felt a bit of joy at this instead of the usual dullness that accompanied a win of a fight.
Eager to meet his next challenger and see if he could indeed win, Deshi listened to the rules once more to see if anything had changed and then stepped out on his side of the field. As his dark brown eyes crossed the field they landed on the familiar form of Aya. She was wielding a baton in her hand…her weapon he assumed. Not a comforting sight, but this was a fun game not a prison, so no need to worry about the weapon here. Anyway, as she spoke, he nodded to her comment on his name before a small smile appeared at her taunt. She reminded him of Felix, so perhaps she would be entertaining to play against.
“It is good to see you too, Aya. Good luck then,” he said kindly to her and then a few seconds later became serious as he flicked out his left hand summoning Crimson Rose before falling into a relaxed stance. He watched his opponent for a moment and then looking away from her, seeming to not be worried by her at all. Mentally, he was prepared for anything already knowing that the match would get hectic before it ended. As he heard the buzzer go off and saw the first fruit appear, he was relieved to see it was not an apple, but a watermelon instead. He watched as it lazily bounced over to his side of the field and paced himself, so that he would meet the watermelon as it crossed over without wasting too much energy. As he raised his sword, horizontally in front of him, he let the fruit bump into his guard slowing it down slightly before quickly changing his grip and whacking the fruit into the air. Following it upward, Deshi leapt into the air getting slightly above the fruit before he came down on it a heavy downward slice with the blunt side of his sword. The force of the strike sent the giant fruit flying back at his opponent. Once the fruit was on its way, Deshi landed cat like on the ground before standing up quickly as he prepared to see what may end up on his side of the field and also what fate would befall his female opponent. _________________________________________________________

It would seem Aya's suspicions regarding Deshitana were unfounded as he responded to her in a rather kind tone, one that had kind of caught her off guard. While she didn't think he was the battle-hardened cynical warrior type, she certainly hadn't expected him capable of such a tone especially towards her when she had gotten the feeling he wasn't too fond of her. Perhaps she had been too quick to judge him based on their brief meeting at Radiant Gardens... either that or he simply had a good poker face but it was irrelevant. No, all that mattered now was that there was fruits flying onto their fields and it seemed her opponent would receive a watermelon for his first fruit. This caused the former officer to smirk as she was rather certain that if Deshitana would be doing anything with that fruit it was be sending it careening toward her face. Not that she thought he was a particularly nasty guy but because it was really the only use for that fruit as blocking it was too easy considering its massive size. No, it was much better used to hit your opponent with and catch them off guard. Thus her eyes would take a moment to glance at the fruit that appeared on her side of the field, a smile curving against her lips as her first fruit was a pineapple.
Well I suppose it still has "apple" in its name but it's a lot better than getting nothing BUT apples like I did in the last game,[/i] she mused in reference to her last game as a plan of attack quickly came to mind. Watching as Deshitana bumped the watermelon and then spiked it toward her, she would stand her ground and when it was close enough move to return the watermelon. Much like in her previous match, Aya would start things off with a wide Curve in an attempt to catch her opponent off guard as it curved toward their goal. Or rather seemed to, Aya wasn't really expecting that Watermelon to make it in but if it caught Deshitana's attention than that was a positive result. Yes for after hitting the watermelon she would quickly rush to her pineapple and Shoot it toward his goal in an attempt to get rid of the thing and get a point. In fact if anything it was a good thing for Deshitana for if he allowed it through he wouldn't take the chance of getting stunned by attempting to block the pineapple. He could try and get greedy and use the watermelon to block the pineapple but that was why Aya had curved it in the first place, sending it in an opposite direction. This would make it difficult to do so and send him away from his goal as he went to stop the watermelon, presumably anyway. How he would react was unknown to Aya but either way she would watch him carefully and get ready to move in response to his counterattack.

This was becoming a scene of déjà vu for Deshi, but instead of apples it now seemed the curse was becoming pineapples. As he used the watermelon to attack his opponent, he expected her to counter the move easily. After all, using the watermelon in this fashion was expected. So as the watermelon towards his opponent, he noticed a pineapple appear on her side of the field and seeing the fruit only made the warrior narrow his eyes slightly. He remembered the last time the thing had hit him, so this time he’d keep his guard up and be sure to guard against the brutal fruit for as long as he could. While he couldn’t feel the pain, that dizzy feeling wasn’t too pleasant to contend with and took forever to recover from, so he’d rather not experience that again. So he kept his guard up as he watched Aya countered his simple attack.
She hit the large watermelon with a curve sending it towards Deshi’s goal…or so it would seem. As the larger fruit came his way, he caught a glimpse of Aya going towards the pineapple on her side of the field and shooting it towards his goal. Nice. Very nice. A distraction to get the goal. A hard to counter tactic, but unfortunately for Aya, Deshi recognized the stragety and knew exactly what to do. Acting quickly, he indeed made a mad dash for the watermelon as if he expected it to go into his goal; however, instead of trying to block it, he positioned himself off the side of it before whacking it heavily with a horizontal strike. The force of the strike was enough to shoot the distracting fruit in a straight line with enough speed that it was able to intercept the pineapple aimed at his goal, sending the fruit back towards his opponet’s side of the field. The reflected pineapple still held some speed, but it wasn’t directed anywhere, so it just went on its own little path while the shot watermelon continued its straight forward path until it was stopped by the barrier, bounced upward, and arched to come back again.
The whole time all this was happening, Deshi followed the watermelon, having to run to keep up with the speeding fruit. As he got close to it, a pineapple appeared on his side of the field in the same vicinity as the falling watermelon. Slidding so that he was behind both fruit. Deshi watched the scene play in slow motion.
The watermelon would come down as the pineapple bounced upward from the ground, when the pair were parallel with each other, he would leap up slightly and swing his sword in such a way that the pineapple would be sent flying forward with a nice spin. As it spun forward it would hit the watermelon with enough force to push the fruit forward and transfer some of its spin to the larger fruit. The pair traveled towards the other side of the field together. As the two traveled, they would begin to part with the pineapple veering towards the left and towards Aya while watermelon stayed on its wobbly course towards the goal and then-- Time sped up and returned to normal. Deshi had cleared his side of fruit for the time being, leaving Aya with a tricky situation to deal with. On one hand, she had the reflected pineapple to deal with. It wasn’t aimed at her or her goal in particular, but the path it was on put it on a course that would bring it very close to the young woman indeed. On the other hand, she had the pineapple coming in from the left as if it were trying to force her back into the first pineapple and smoosh her between itself and the other. An unintentional thing that would make guarding or getting out of the wedge tricky to deal with without getting hit by one of the two fruit. Granted, where there was a will there was a way so maybe she could indeed get out of the trap, but that still left the issue of the watermelon. Unlike the other two fruit, it was on a straighter path towards the goal, so what would she do?
Would she be distracted by the pineapples and contend with them to not get hit and risk the watermelon slipping into her goal? Or would she focus on trying to get rid of the watermelon and risk getting whapped? Or would she like him do the unexpected? Guess, he’d have wait and see. For now, he prepared himself for whatever came next, keeping an ear and eye out for the arrival of new fruit. _______________________________________________________

And so the match proceeded, a small grimace curving against the former officer’s lips as her opponent moved into action, managing to get on the side of the watermelon just in time. It was a little peculiar to see someone able to move that fast and then properly aim and fire off a shot to intercept the pineapple as well but there was no time to argue. The more pressing concern was his counter attack which he was getting ready to do as another pineapple appeared on his side of the field. This certainly did not bode well for the blonde vixen, certain that her opponent would take advantage of having an extra pineapple. Indeed, with the other one coming toward her at a moderate speed it was likely he would attempt to hit that one toward her as well. Yes, if she had to deal with two of them the likelihood of her dodging them was much lower and with that watermelon there as well if he could hit it such that it went toward her goal...
Which seems likely since they’re close and he’s already showed that he likes playing billiards with his fruit balls,[/i] she mused as Deshitana got ready to do just that, a small smirk curving against her lips as her counterattack formed in her head, I suppose that’s my only choice given the situation and while it’ll mean giving up a goal potentially it’s the best thing I can do,[/i] Aya finished mentally, watching as Deshitana did as she had predicted. Yes, the Watermelon would roll towards her goal whilst the pineapple was hit straight toward her and the other one continued to bounce toward her. Taking a couple steps back, Aya readied herself to strike at the two pineapples and take the stun but was pleasantly surprised when a bouncing apple appeared on her side of the field. Indeed, it was ironic considering she had wanted to rip her hair out when she got nothing but apples in the previous match but it was a blessing here. With two pineapples already on the field, anymore would just be ludicrous and it wasn’t something she wanted to deal with. Not only that, but because of her current plan that apple would only increase to the chaos she was about to create on Deshitana’s side of the field.
Regardless, with the two pineapples closing in, the former officer would make a wide swing with her baton, striking the two pineapples at once to make them Curve. Because of their close proximity, they ended up bouncing off each other as they went hurdling back towards Deshitana’s side of the field. Furthermore, one of them had hit the apple bouncing on her side of the field, also sending it toward Deshitana’s side of the field. The result was chaos as the pineapples came from two different directions and an apple was thrown in the mix, all bouncing about wildly. With them bouncing about so wildly and having three on the field doing so, it was highly likely that one of them would make it toward the goal. It was also likely that Deshitana would also get stunned in return as whichever way he went there was an imminent threat of pineapple. How he would react to this predicament would certainly be interesting to watch but sadly the blonde vixen would be unable to partake in the display. Indeed, the drawback to her plan was that she ended up getting stunned in order to return the pineapples, the former officer falling to one knee as a sudden spell of dizziness took her. Not only that, but the watermelon had indeed made it toward her goal having rolled in ever so gently and giving Deshitana first blood goal.

This was just too much. If Deshi thought the last Fruits Ball match was cursed then surely he had been wrong. This match was indeed worse. His opponent was indeed smart and able to counter his moves with ease, something he was actually happy to see. A challenge was always nice; however, it would seem that for all her trouble, she would end up stunned by one of the pineapples and a goal would indeed be made as the large watermelon slipped into her goal giving him the first point. While this was all well, Deshi wasn’t one to celebrate victory just yet. He had trouble in the form of two pineapples and an apple heading his way. On top of this, the appearance of a third pineapple appearing on his side of the field was enough to make even this calm warrior feel distressed.
Why? Why so many pineapples? Apples were one thing and while annoying, they didn’t do anything if they hit you, but pineapples? No. No. This would not do. He had to get rid of them, but what to do? He didn’t really have time to plan, so he just reacted. As the pineapple that just appeared bounced and then titled and became horizontal with the ground Deshi would dash behind it and strike it with a heavy horizontal strike that kept the fruit in its horizontal position while forcing it forward and towards the incoming pineapple. As the two pineapples met, collided, and then traveled together towards the other side of the field in their own wobbly and chaotic fashion, Deshi would dash again to guard his goal from the apple that was getting too close to his goal for comfort. He would shoot this one in a straight line towards Aya’s goal. He didn’t expect the apple to make it in even if Aya was stunned. She could recover easily from the blow and react quickly to the threat even with the two wildly bouncing pineapples on her side of the field. Besides there was always the unknown factor to consider also: the fruit-to-be-next if one even appeared at all, but for now Deshi had no time to form a plan to consider a counter to that or anything else.
No, if he did that then he would be the one stunned and quite frankly, he did not want that to happen again. So as the last pineapple came his way, the warrior didn’t have time to bring up a guard or a counter. No, dealing with the other fruit had given the threatening pineapple enough time to get too close for even thinking of trying that, so Deshi did the only thing he could do in this situation. He let himself drop to the ground, being careful not to stab himself with his sword as he made himself as flat as possible against the ground. The pineapple flew inches above him, saving him from being stunned, but in turn, left his goal unprotected. There was another buzz as the fruit went in tying the pair, but Deshi did not mind. He much rather have the woman score than to experience that sickening feeling that came from being struck by the pineapple again, so with calmness the warrior picked himself back up and dusted himself off since once more his side of the field was cleared. After he had done this, he resumed his defensive position and prepared for whatever may come next. _____________________________________________________________________________________ In play so far: 1 apple 2 pineapples

OOC: I hate being stunned, leaves me so little to do XD!
IC: And yet again like in her previous match the former officer found herself disoriented, having been slightly tapped by the pineapples she had hit back towards Deshitana. It made her head feel light and even made her sick to her stomach this feeling of dizziness, the world spinning around her as she barely caught herself from falling. Indeed, putting her hands out in front of she barely avoided tasting the dirt beneath her, thankful that she had at least that much of her bearings back to work with. Raising her head slightly in a groggy like fashion, she tried to watch what the result of her attack was and while it was a rather blurry image she had the faintest idea of what was going on. Yes, it would seem that another pineapple appeared on Deshitana's side of the field and he had quickly used that one to block one of the pineapples headed toward him. In doing so, the two pineapples seemed to make it over to her side of the field bouncing about although at a reduced speed and seemingly nowhere near her goal. That was certainly a good thing as the blonde vixen was incapacitated at the moment and didn't need her opponent scoring easy goals now but on the other hand that also meant there was a risk of one of those pineapples still hitting her. If she were unlucky, one of those two pineapples might brush against her and might truly make her fall down face first, an embarrassing display that she would rather not show her opponent or anyone for that matter.
Whatever the case, she would attempt to push herself up to her feet but failed to do so as another bout of dizziness took her and she feel back on her ass, placing her hands behind her for support. Lifting her head back up to watch her opponent once more, she would watch as a red object blurred past her net, a small grimace curving against her lips as the sound of a goal being scored accompanied it. While it was to be expected that her opponent would take advantage of the situation, it was rather irritating as Aya would have to play catch-up now, something she wasn't particularly fond of. On the other hand, if the blurry yellow thing bouncing about on Deshitana's side of the field struck it's target, at least she would be able to throw back quite an offense afterwards. Except it didn't and in fact Deshitana managed to evade the pineapple by dropping all the way down to the floor, an action that had left the former officer speechless for but a moment. While the buzz was a pleasant sound to see that her efforts hadn't gone completely to waste, she couldn't help but feel immensely irritated at just how unbelievably slippery her opponent was.
Are you kidding me?[/i] she thought as her strength began to return and she got ready to stand up once more, Not only did he dodge it but now he's throwing his balls back in my face?[/i] she mused as she glanced over to the two approaching pineapples. Luckily enough, the two seemed to knock each other to the side as they approached her, a small blessing in disguise that allowed her to breathe easily as she attempted to stand back up. Yes, she would slowly raise back up to her feet, fighting back the dizziness as another apple soon appeared on her side of the field, the blonde vixen actually glad to see said fruit that hadn't stopped coming up in her previous match. When she had finally stood up, she took a moment to assess the situation and whilst doing so just realized just how badly what she had mused could have been misinterpreted had she said it out loud. Putting a palm to her face and shaking her head, she dismissed the thought with a sigh as her expression became serious and she attempted to make a plan of attack whilst watching whatever fruit appeared on Deshitana's side of the field next.
I'm really glad I didn't say that aloud,[/i]

He guess his opponent wasn’t as quick on recovering as he was. An interesting note that made the warrior just how much fighting she had done in comparison to him and if that was perhaps what changed the field when people were recovering from certain bumps and knocks. He watched as the woman remained stunned, swaying here and there as she tried to focus on what was happening around her. As he watched, the two pineapples fly towards her, he prayed they would not accidentally hit the woman that was having a bit of trouble staying on her feet. He watched as she made an attempt at standing, but instead fell onto her butt. An embarrassing thing to do in front of an opponent of the opposite sex and one action the Void would’ve taunted her about, but luckily for her the Void was sleep, so her falling down did not have any effect on the warrior.
In any case, there was a buzzing sound that let Deshi know that the apple had at least gotten into the goal without problem thanks to the woman being stunned; however, as before he did not celebrate the goal as he instead focused on the chaos around his opponent. The two pineapples had thankfully not hit her again, saving him from a guilt trip and boredom at gaining easy points. After all, he wasn’t trying to hit her when he saw those cursed fruits, he had simply been trying to get them away; however, for the moment the pineapples were not his problem as they decided to bounce around and chill on his opponent's side of the field. On top of the two pineapples, a apple appeared on her side of the field also bouncing around and adding to the chaos. Around the same time the apple appeared on his opponent's side a….apple appeared on his side of the field too.
He frowned slightly at this as he watched his opponent, surprised she had not tossed any fruit his way. Maybe she was recovering still from the bump or perhaps forming a plan. In any case, the calm warrior’s eyes would go from her side of the field back to the apple on his side of the field. Relaxing, he stood up straight as he did an odd thing. Instead of moving towards his fruit, he tapped his sword against the side of his leg as he looked down at the ground, seeming to lose interest in the game; however, if the woman were to buy the look or action, then she would be in for a rude awakening.
Deshi hadn’t lost interest in the game…no…he was waiting. As he idly tapped his sword against his leg, he watched from the corner of his eye as the fruit on Aya’s side lined up in just the right formation and then without warning, he brought his sword down hard upon the apple passing by on his side of the field bumping it forward in a different fashion.
As the apple flew forward, it would collide with the nearest fruit (one of the pineapples) causing it to start spinning. As it spun, it would whack the other pineapple and send it bouncing about in a wild fashion. Then that pineapple would hit the apple on her side and cause it to move about in a chaotic swirl.
In a nutshell, Deshi had used the apple like a cue ball to send the three fruit on Aya’s side into a chaotic mess while the apple itself made a wobbly path towards her goal. The apple was easy enough to block, but what would she do in response to the other fruit? Would she regret not sending some of the chaos his way or would she make him pay for giving her a headache? Time would tell.
((Yeah, but the post was still interesting. =) )) ________________________________________________

And so with the blonde vixen having recovered, she noted the apple appearing on her opponent's side of the field as well as how the fruits on her side were moving. Indeed, it seemed that by some stroke of luck, or rather misfortune, they were lining up in a way that would make them easy to hit all in a row perhaps all straight to the goal or cause them to bounce about madly. Either way, she certainly made note of it and with only one apple on his side of the field Deshitana's bluff was easy enough to see through with that in mind. Well it wasn't only the fact that he had just one fruit to work with but she already knew quite well just how much her opponent enjoyed hitting the fruit off each other so he wouldn't miss a chance like this. Yet she didn't move immediately as she watched him, waiting for the moment when the fruit were lined up as her own plan formed in that noggin of hers that would go into effect as Deshitana readied his strike. As he did so, Aya would dash to intercept the fruit as it was bumped over, the former officer getting in between the apple and her own pineapple in the nick of time.
Now you're just getting predictable,[/i] she would muse as she swung her baton at the apple with a strike that would Curve it. She would follow through with the swing and also spin in a 360, using the momentum from the spin to also lift the pineapple behind her into the air and over the net shortly after. It would bounce off the invisible walls that barred the fruit from leaving the field much like the apple did but on opposite sides since her maneuver had allowed her to hit both from different sides. Whatever the case, she wasn't nearly finished yet and would rush over to the other pineapple on her side of the field, Bumping it up into the air before spiking it toward Deshitana wherever he might be. Indeed, while scoring a goal with one of the two fruits would be nice, Aya was more concerned about stunning her opponent now more so than ever. If she did so she could easily score with the other apple on her side of the field and perhaps with whatever fruits came her way next. Not only that, but Deshitana couldn't be in two places at once so her current tactic would force him to go for one of the two fruits, most likely the apple that he had sent. In the event he did so though and attempted to use it to strike the other pineapple like he had done before, the likelihood of him getting hit by the spiked pineapple was extremely high. If he attempted to block her spike with the apple, with how hard she had hit it there was still a chance she would end up hitting him anyway and still a good chance of her scoring with the other pineapple. Those were the best case scenarios but even in the worst case scenario it was highly likely if she didn't stun him she would at least score a goal and prevent an immediate counter attack.
On the other hand he could surprise me too but will just have to wait and see,[/i] the blonde mused as she readied herself for whatever Deshitana threw back at her.

It would seem his stunned opponent did indeed have a plan of attack that made having multiple fruit on her side of the field indeed a good thing. With ease, she intercepted the apple that was aimed for the fruit and curved it back towards him. As she did this, he ran to meet the apple and swung his sword out in a horizontal swing. As his blade traveled along its path, it hit the apple...and the new apple that had decided to appear so near. The two fruit flew, splitting into two different paths—one going straight and the other curving off to the right as they headed towards Aya’s goal; however, Deshi did not have any time to rest there. When Aya struck her apple, she had spun to send the pineapple up and over going towards the opposite side of his field. Seeing the path of the pineapple, Deshi did indeed go for fruit just as Aya decided to send the second pineapple his way by bumping it directly at him. He saw the fruit coming, but instead of letting himself be hit, he slid to a halt as he moved his sword around him in a wide circular pattern that effectively blocked and deflected the spiky fruit. He felt the heavy impact of the fruit on his sword, but thankfully it had not touched him. From the spinning defense, he would continue to move as his sword came to a halt and he tumbled to cover the distance to the second pineapple. In the nick of time, he’d push himself up from the roll and up off the ground as he spun slightly to get his sword under the large fruit, launching it into the air, and then as he followed it upward and became level with it, he'd spiked it directly at Aya as he used a bump technique to get the fruit away. The whole scene was played out in a quick fashion that was not enhanced by any magic, but was simple done on natural speed gained through many years of practice. Each strike was graceful and controlled hinting that perhaps Deshi was not just dude waving around his sword. He knew exactly with he was doing and because of this he had dealt with pineapples in such a way that he was not hit or touched by them as he knocked them away.
In any case, he had landed on the ground with a clear field again. The two apples going on their path, the deflected pineapple another, and the bumped pineapple directly towards Aya. Without bouncing any fruit off the other, he had created a wide spread for Aya to deal with as the fruit fanned out. It probably didn’t help she had an apple already on her side, making for a total of six fruit to contend with maybe even seven if another were to appear on her side of the field. Regardless of what happened, Deshi would resume a relaxed defensive position and see what his opponent did. After all, she had proved to be a tough cookie and one that adapted well.
