(Who wants to go exploring dangerous caves, huh?! RAYNE SURE DOES! Come join her!)
Rayne Regen Riser | Kisa Regen Riser
Rayne Regen Riser | Kisa Regen Riser
Across a beautiful field of the purest green grass, one could spot only two forms. A fully grown (more or less) woman and a small child, pouncing about and playing their hearts out. The two laughed and smile in the bright midday sun. The sky was clear and blue, not a single cloud to be found, and the air was warm, but carried on it a cool and inviting breeze. Days like this were something to be cherished.
Rayne and Kisa found themselves playing tag across the grassy field that stretched as far as the eye could see. "I'm gonna get ya!" Rayne playfully called out to the sprinting Kisa. Her lips curved into a bright, warm smile, as her floppy bangs waved about in the wind. Most of her hair was held back by her brown and orange beret. The frilly ribbon she had tied around the collar of her shirt, hanging over her chest, bounced up and down with each step she took, pretending to be running as fast as she could as she chased her baby girl around. Kisa laughed and smile, occasionally looking back over her shoulder to spot her mother still chasing her. "Noooo!" She cried in between heavy laughs and heaving.
As Rayne drew closer and closer to Kisa, her daughter eventually stumbled over and laughed heavily, squirming desperately in the grass with limbs flailing. She squirmed around like a fish out of water as Rayne swooped down on her like an eagle, arms extended, fingers wiggling, and viciously tickled the little girl. Her fingers shifted up and down the sides of Kisa's little pink bunny hoodie, prompting explosive and elated laughter to spew forth from the toddler's lips. "No! No-no Mama!" She cried out in a toddler's defeat. Rayne smiled and laughed in response, turning her beautiful green eyes to look at her daughter's scrunched up face as she continued to laugh. "You give up? Mama wins?" Rayne questioned in turn, continuing her rampant tickle attack. "Tap, Tap!" Kisa reached her little hand out and patted the grass below her.
The universal sign of submission, huh? I taught you well!
Finally, Rayne pulled her gloved hands away from Kisa, relenting her tickles for the time being. Rayne smiled and laughed, falling back into the grass herself. For a moment, she felt so peaceful. She laid back, letting the tension sink out of her body and melt away into the ground, while the shining rays of the sun beamed down upon her tender, soft, glistening white skin. Eye drew up into the endless blue above, as a gentle breath escaped her soft lips. Her beret had slipped back a bit, unleashing a little of her wealth of beautiful blonde hair to the light of the sun. It seemed to almost shine in the light, the same as the hair of her daughter, who seized this moment to rise to her feet and dive upon Rayne's stomach from just out of view. She landed vertically up Rayne's stomach, causing Rayne to flinch and catch the young girl in surprise.
"Got you." Kisa spoke teasingly. Rayne smiled, sending her arms around the back of her toddler and pulled her into a tight embrace. "Or maybe I got you!" Rayne grinned, pressing her daughter into her chest and waiting for 'it.' Her daughter squealed and laughed for a moment before sending her one loose arm out, tapping Rayne's side gently a few times. "Tap, tap!" Once again, Rayne chuckled, easing up on her baby girl, and allowing her to sit up on her stomach. With a leg on each side, Kisa began to bounce up and down gently over Rayne's stomach.
"Ready to play with Fen, honey?" Rayne inquired, reaching her hands out and clasping Kisa's own. She loved to spend time with her daughter, but she had a mission here, after all. And it was a bit too dangerous to bring Kisa along further. Kisa nodded in response, rising off of her mother's stomach and standing up, offering her mother a tiny hand with which to stand. Rayne smiled gently and took the hand. It did nothing to actually help her up, but Rayne knew it made Kisa feel nice to think she was helping, as it did all children. After getting to her feet, Rayne waved an inviting hand out to her side.
Black mist spread forth from her hand, spiraling out toward the ground, before spreading and spinning upward. From within the mist emerged a man clad in black, with midnight blue hair and bronze skin. His eyes reflected a different image than his appearance however, as they looked upon Rayne and Kisa both with a stoic affection. "My turn?" Fenrir questioned simply, kneeling down and looking Kisa in the eyes. Kisa smiled, outstretching a hand and poking the man's nose with a chuckle. "Yep," Rayne replied. She leaned down and gave Kisa a soft kiss on the cheek before turning away. She began to walk off, waving back to her daughter and Fenrir both, as she approached a much less inviting place.
Just a short distance before her was a small chunk of earth, uprooted from the grassy plains, that lead down into a strange cavern. After taking a final moment to let the sun embrace her, and breathing in one final breath of fresh air, Rayne stepped within. It was a steep incline, far too steep for her to keep her footing. She flopped onto her rear, thankfully wearing pants this time instead of a skirt, and slid down the smooth stone surface. As she flopped off the edge of the rock slide, she let out a quiet 'eep' as her body felt the impact of the hard stone beneath her. Thankfully it wasn't a long or hard drop, and she landed on the natural cushion that was her butt, so it didn't hurt too much.
This place had numerous glowing crystals embedded into the walls, each of which seemed to hold some kind of harmless magical energy. It provided the place with much needed light, making it much easier to navigate as a result. Her emerald eyes scanned her new surroundings as her ears caught very unusual sounds... It was almost as if something were wriggling around in here. Rayne took a few cautious steps forward, only to step on something squishy... It squelched under her stylish boot, and as she turned her attention down to look at it, she realized just what it was. "Malboro!" She cried out in shock. Immediately she took her boot off of it, stepping back in panic, eyes scanning the disgusting green tentacle's width, up further and further, until she spied the monster it belonged to. It was a small one, but they were still nasty. It was only a few feet taller than herself, but was much wider and doubtlessly far heavier. It seemed to be asleep, and her yelp of fear and stepping on it hand't woken it yet, thankfully... She cautiously navigated around the tentacles spread around the cave floor, and into another chamber. Hopefully that was the only nasty thing down here.
As Rayne reared her careful gaze into the new, unfamiliar chamber, her eyes were greeted with an incredible sight. The ceiling was covered in the many glowing rocks, emitting their beautiful orange light across a larger pond that had formed within the cavern at some point. It was breathtaking to see the water shimmer and shine in such a way, her eyes lost focus on scanning her surroundings further. Her ears caught the sounds of thousands of little droplets of water falling into other sources, creating a symphony of natural music. She stepped within, her slim but well-shaped legs carrying her forward with such light steps that it seemed almost as if she were on a cloud.
"This place..." she mumbled to herself in awe, "It's unreal."
