Soooo, I'll make this fancy eventually. Long story short, Illua has been resurrected by Li-Grim and tasked to become Ivalice's Dynast-King. What's a Dynast-King you say? Well...fans of Vayne Solidor of FFXII will tell you that the overall end is to have man/hume stand above the rest. Submit to no authority, and destroy all who oppose you. Illua's method of achieving this is to force the Totema/Scions under her command and eventually sever Ivalice's ties to the gods. She won't stop there though.
Worlds Under Her Reign:
Notable Resistance:
Goals: - Capture all Totemas/Scions and log under Illua's ability list. - Conquer the worlds and plunge them into darkness. - Declare Ivalice as her home base and devise a means to unite dark forces.
Any takers? Interests? Resistance?

While he may not be much of an ally, Albion has his uses. Right now he stands at a pretty much entirely neutral point, doesn't care about the state of worlds or what have you, but eventually he'll stand more at the point of a righteous hero. Perhaps then he could be a bit of a nuisance, but for now, I have something else in mind.
Once Albion is more at home in his own skin, his interest in foreign magic and science will increase drastically for a specific, special reason. I won't go into what that is yet, but moral of the story is; if he learns about the biology and/or magical powers of these Totemas and Scions, he'll offer up his aid without much of a fuss. In the end, learning about them would probably prove far more valuable than standing up for what's right anyway. Plus, he's got a significant amount of time traveling the worlds under his belt thanks to the Interdimensional Rift, so he'd probably be a useful source of information to boot!
As for Zhuyu, you've already enlisted his help in the first quest, but if you think you can finagle some more time or help from him than that, I'm all ears. If it aligns with the crystal's will, you'll have an incredibly powerful ally to boot, so power to you!

Actually, it was something I wanted to bring up. Illua only requires the spiritual power of the gods and eidolons to submit them beneath the power of men. If she meets Albion, and understand that he wishes to learn for the good of discovery...then I'm sure Illua can be a wonderful ally towards delivering specimens to him. Imagine, having the ability to understand fundamental concepts of celestial beings and magical lore that Illua could provide. She also has the ability to rend time and recreate scenarios [later.]; so more benefits to the hero.
Honestly for Zhuyu, I'm not sure. Illua's goal is to place humes as the ultimate power and liberate their binds from gods. It may or may not clash with Zhuyu's crystal philosophy, since certain worlds have concepts of light and darkness. Places like Cornelia would have Zhuyu and Illua clash, but others with Crystals of Darkness will see him as an ally. I think it could be for mutual gains, since Illua would see the Crystals as a mindful advisor to man.

I was actually thinking of Apping Judge Bergan or Ghis sometime in the near future, so they would probs be interested in this plot. Particularly Bergan, "To late and to their sorrow do those who misplace their trust in gods learn their fate." also "No the power of manufacted nethicite is the power of man! A weapon forged by his wisdom who would challenge the gods themselves a fitting blade for a true dynast-king." Just a head up as those may also be coming soon along with Lurod here.

I think it could be for mutual gains, since Illua would see the Crystals as a mindful advisor to man. Seems to me like they'll have a fairly fruitful relationship. After Albion's thread with Zidane and his spar with Selena, he should be in a place where he's mentally prepared to begin his learning. Once they get on the right feet, they'll be pretty helpful to one another, I imagine. In a long term way. The Suzaku crystal has very little cares in the way of other crystals. It has it's own sense of balance, and as long as Illua leaves it and Rubrum alone, it has little reason to pit Zhuyu against her. And the important thing to note here is that even in the event that Zhuyu is made to battle her by the crystal's will, that's all it is. It's absolutely not personal; Zhuyu won't really want to hurt her and he won't feel negatively in regards to her fighting back. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, really. But when the crystal calls, there's a sort of compulsion in his very soul itself to obey at all costs. I'm sure that's among the things Illua probably wants to fight against, but eh... We can deal with that when we get to it.
