So there stood Riku on the sands of Destiny Island with the bright sun shining down on the small island. The Keyblade Master had many good memories here with Sora, Kairi, Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie. His bright blue eyes looked out towards the crystal like water as its waves crashed into each other. "I wonder how Soras doing and if Kairi is getting better with her training," He said softly.
His current mission is to travel each world and keep the darkness at bay for the time being. Also, Riku needed to make sure he could get some information from any beings of darkness that also lurked about. Since Riku managed to make it home for the time being he might as well call it a leisure day while he has the chance. With just the thought of relaxing in mind Riku made his way over to the paopu fruit tree. Soon having to trudge through some water to take the fast way up.
In moments he walked over to the bent tree and sat down in his usual spot just as he did all those years ago before his adventure began. Boy did this little island bring back some flash backs with his friends. "I hope they're doing well." Riku always tried to remain cool, calm, and collected, but when it comes to his friends he tends to worry about them a lot. "I guess I shouldn't fret about it. Sora and Kairi can handle themselves." Of course Riku knows that even though he may not be there with them right now his heart is still linked to theirs.

It had been a while since Xion had visited the soft sandy beaches of Destiny Island. She had been preoccupied lately, and the peace of the island and the calming sound of waves upon the shore was bliss for Xion. She had been lying near the water, just listening to the sounds with her eyes closed. It was almost enough to make her sleep...and a flash of an image went through her mind, of doing just that, and then faces appearing over her, making her sit up in surprise.
The image vanished, and Xion looked around, confused. Had she just seen something from the island? Or from Sora's memories..? Was it possible she still gathered those..? No...it couldn't be..could it?
Her pondering was distracted by a glance around, and noticing the bent tree that she had once had a dream of sitting on with her friends. And there was someone sitting on it now....was it just her imagination? No..this seemed real. And the presence was..confusing.
Standing, dusting sand off of her cloak, Xion walked along the shore and through some of the sparkling wavy water toward the tree. She put her hands in the cool yet somehow warmed water, smiling. It felt as though things couldn't be better..
Finally reaching the tree, Xion tilted her head, standing a bit behind the person who sat there. Should she approach them? Or should she leave them...him..alone? The silvery hair caught the light of the sun, and the color flashed through her memory. She knew this person...didn't she?
But she didn't know if it was good....or bad...that she knew this person.
"I...I know you...?
The statement came out almost as a whisper, barely above the sound of the waves. Almost as if trying to speak in a dream...and that was how she felt. She wasn't entirely sure whether she was awake..or if she had actually fallen asleep in the warm sands near the waves. She didn't feel the need to wear her hood...the peacefulness of this scene didn't cause concern for caution. If this was indeed a dream, caution wasn't needed.

Riku continued to sit on the trip admiring the view until he heard some light footsteps slowly approaching from behind. Hopefully, it wasn't Heartless of some sort. However, he knew it wasn't going to be the Heartless because he could smell the darkness that they usually give off. No this had to be a person, but who?
With this in mind Riku hopped off his spot and slowly turned around the tree to see a familiar face. This girl looked so much like Kairi, yet alas she is not. The Keyblade Master remembers who this girl is very well. "Xion," He said softly to the girl before him. Has she been wandering alone all this time? That's something no one should have to deal with.
The Keyblade Master wants to believe that he is a bit more understanding after his past adventures trying to save his best friend. So, he is going to try to be a friend to Xion if she would let him that is. Riku wants to help everyone no matter who or what they are. As long as they are no threat they deserve to be understood. "How are you?"

The person hopped down from his perch, and turned around to face her. She stared, blue eyes wide. She surely had to have fallen asleep back there in the warm sand of the shoreline.. He was so very familiar. His bright blue-green sort of eyes caught the light, shining brightly. His hair shone silvery in the light, and Xion felt so very confused as to why she knew him..(though somewhere in a space in her chest came a warm feeling that she was right). He spoke..and Xion blinked. He hadn't been confused one bit..
And when he spoke...just the simple word of her name, followed by the casual question.. Xion felt that flash of recognition become more than that..a blur of images, almost dizzying, whirled around in her mind, pieces falling to show her what she had forgotten..or rather, not truly forgotten, just not quite remembered. Her eyes went round, and she had to put a hand out to the tree to stay standing as the dizzying rush of memories found their places. She remembered him. And he remembered her. He remembered!!
"Riku..I'm...you..you remember me. You remember..?!"
She could barely contain the surprise and (inexplicable) great happiness and sense of warmth and peace she got from knowing who he was, and that he remembered her. It was amazing! And she couldn't figure out where to start explaining or what to tell him or anything beyond the question/statement she had made. Thoughts and questions and wondering tumbled over themselves in her head, and she couldn't sort out anything to even begin talking..
What did hold firmly in the back of her mind, though, was the unspoken question: was this a dream? Truly? Was she even awake? Was this real?

"Yeah why wouldn't I remember you?" Riku knew he couldn't forget about Xion even if he wanted to. This young keyblader was directly linked to not only Sora, but Kairi as well. Even if Xion wanted to be forgotten it would be nearly impossible since she played a part with Sora. However, he had to admit he was somewhat shocked at her appearance.
You could say the Keyblade Master wasn't expecting her to show up. Nonetheless, perhaps this was something he had to take care of. There had to be a reason for him and her being here together. On the other hand, some of his memories revolving around Xion were a little foggy. For some reason all he could really remember is when he saw her face and their conversation.
Well that all didn't matter for the moment. "It's been a while, huh?" Just from that memory alone he knew that was when he was struggling with his darkness. Back then he had fought blind folded to increase his senses and his own strength to get stronger. Of course it worked until he had to fight Roxas.
