It was time for Sora to start his cooking for the judges, for the great cook-off at Disney Castle! Coming to Disney Castle, the thing he had always remembered about it the most was the delicious flavors from the Ice Cream Beat game. So when a cooking competition came, he just had to try out his own colorful flavors! Growing up on an island, fishing was a local passtime on those long, sunny afternoons, but inspired by the deserts in Disney Town he just had to try the meal that was easy to make not only for desert, but for breakfast too. Huey lead them all to their kitchens, and once Sora had all his fresh ingrediants, he was ready and rearing to go~!
He was so excited, he started cracking eggs into the bowl of flour, butter, sugar, and a few extra wholesome ingrediants of his own he didn't let the other competitors see in his concealed hands. A chef has to have some of his secrets, after all~ He mixed them all up with a wooden spoon in a mixing bowl until it was creamy and smooth, then poured the mixture into five seperate smaller bowls. Then to each bowl, he added his seperate flavor ingredients; raspberries, blueberries, milk chocolate, seas salt, and paopu fruit respectively. He mixed them all up real good, then set a saucepan down, starting to cook the first batch of one of each flavor.

And we'll provide the rest~
Next came the exciting part, and Sora's heart was racing at this point. In addition to serving up the judges this wonderful and delicious meal, he would introduce his own mini game as part of the theatrics of cooking! Once one pancake was done, he would move away from the stove and begin to flip it as he walked over to the judges table, and to add to the challenge some balloons had floated in especially for Sora's mini game. Sora would have to try and strike the balloons of the same color of his pancake, and when they burst they released a sprinkle of flavored sugar associated with the color of the balloon and flavor of pancake, popping a red balloon to release a sparkle of raspberry-flavored sugar to sprinkle his pancake. He then landed the pancake on the judge's plate, and return to the stove, doing the same mini-game for each flavor of pancake!

Sora had set up quite the obstacle course for himself, but that was the point, for he was having the most fun time doing so! He had practiced, and with his wide saucepan, made sure that he never dropped a single pancake on the floor as if his own life depended on it. Blueberry pancakes hit blue balloons, once a brown pancake almost hit a yellow balloon, but Sora continued to stack the pancakes on the judge's plate one by one. It continued, blue balloons bursting and blueberry sugar sparkling in the light to coat blueberry flavored pancakes, yummy chocoloate sprinkles to coat the Rockin' Chocolate pancakes. Sora continued to stack the judges plate as he went back and forth, flipping pancakes to hit the right colored balloons and diving to save them from hitting anything but the saucepan, until the pancakes were all staked as high and as leaning as a figurative and miniture Leaning Tower of Piza. Stacking the last Paopu Sunset Pancake on the top of the many layers, it almost did lean and fall over, until Sora steadied it with his saucepan and knew that was his queue to stop.
And it's all in perfect taste
That you can bet
Come on and lift your glass
You've won your own free pass
To be out guest
If you're stressed
It's fine dining we suggest
Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest!
Finally the dish was complete, and it had taken a lot of effort! The pancakes were not paper thin, but slightly thick so you could see the fresh air bubbles in the pastry looking at the side of the very thin hotcakes. But not too thick or too thin, so one could roll up a pancake and eat it at their heart's desire. The Royal Raspberry pancake was a red pancake, garnished in raspberry sugar, raspberry sauce and raspberries cut into the shape of Mickey and Minnie's famous mouse ears or the keychain on Sora's Kingdom Key. Very Blueberry pancakes were dark blue and almost indigo/purple color, blueberry sugar and cut-up blueberries in a blueberry sauce on top. Rockin' Chocolate were deep brown pancakes with crumbled milk chocolate and a whipped chocolate cream, optionally served with chocolate sauce. Sea Salt Dream were light-blue sherbet-colored pancakes, with shreds of sea salt and normal sugar for a salty yet sweet genuine taste. Finally there was the Paopu Sunset, a yellow-orangish pancake, with slices of sweet paopu fruit and paopu sauce on top. "I have one request for you judges." Sora smiled as he served them up from the stack, redecorating the pancakes as he served them up individually, so the toppings would not merge up together too much the flavors would overrule each other. "I would like it if you guys shared these with everyone here, I made enough for everyone! Because good food is meant to be served with good friends, and people you care about, or even new friends. Thank you." he smiled, and bowed slightly.
He had genuinely and sincerely enjoyed cooking his desert, and he hoped the judges and the other contestants had just as much fun sharing it in watching him and eating it as much as he truly did. "Enjoy!"
With your meal, with your ease
Yes, indeed, we aim to please
While the candlelight's still glowing
Let us help you, We'll keep going
Course by course, one by one
'Til you shout, "Enough! I'm done!"
Then we'll sing you off to sleep as you digest
Tonight you'll prop your feet up
But for now, let's eat up
Be our guest!
Be our guest!
Be our guest!
Please, be our guest~!

Wrapped around his head was a black bandana, flowing in the slight breeze that was passing him while his facial expression remained stoic and serious. Moving down, he had tied around his neck two lengths of string that were holding up his battle attire. Said battle attire was a black apron that had the words “Pro At Cooking” on it, the freelancer deciding to give fair warning to those he would be facing. After all, this contest would be no fun if his opponents didn’t account for his proficiency in the culinary arts, specifically that of baking. While the end result would be the same, his victory of course, it be interesting to see what they did in response to the delicious desert he was about to create. Hell, maybe after it was all said and done he would even taste their deserts and if satisfactory enough, allow them to try his surely superior product.
If I’m feeling particularly generous I may even give the noobs a few pointers in improving their own dishes, |
[/i] he mused but now was not the time for such frivolous thoughts. No, this was serious business right here, he had to make a desert that was not only delicious but also presentable as the appearance of said piece of desert would be taken into account as well. That being noted, the “buddah” switch Felix had buried within his subconscious was quickly flipped, his eyes narrowing as he looked over his station. Having been provided all the ingredients and a mobile cooking station to work with, Felix quickly washed his hands before getting to work. ”Alright judges I hope you’re ready for the most amazing desert you’ve ever had!” he shouted loudly as he went to the first step for preparing his desert. Indeed, the first step would involve melting two sticks of butter in a pot, the freelancer chopping up said sticks into smaller chunks. Throwing them in a small pot, he would put over a burner before turning it on, watching carefully as the butter began to melt. When it became a puddle of golden liquid, Felix would throw in a little over half a bag of small marshmallows, said marshmallows quickly melting into the butter and adding a bit of a white color to it. Immediately after, while the butter was still hot, Felix would pour it into a rather large plastic bowl nearby before grabbing a measuring cup, the next step requiring precise measurements. Regardless, he would then pour in precisely half a cup of sugar into the bowl as well as a cup and a half of brown sugar. With the sugars added he could now add all the other wet ingredients, throwing in two eggs (one yolk and the other a full egg), two tablespoons of milk and a teaspoon of Pure Vanilla Extract. He would then mix it all together with a wooden spoon, making sure that all the flavors were properly mixed before moving on to the next step. ”Now for the dry ingredients!” he would announce as if he were on a cooking show as he promptly grabbed another bowl and began throwing dry ingredients in it. The first ingredient was of course the flour, All-Purpose flour to be exact but instead of simply throwing the flour in like most people, Felix made use of a sifter to make sure there were no clumps in what would eventually be his finished product. Next came a teaspoon of baking powder and salt, meant to assist in the baking process and standard parts for nearly any cookie recipe. With the dry ingredients set, Felix would then begin to dump the contents of the bowl that contained the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. He would do so in parts, spreading it out in five parts to make it easier to mix with the wet ingredients and two other important ingredients. Indeed, for with each part of the flour mixture, Felix would also throw in chocolate chips and shredded coconut to accompany it before mixing it all together. After repeating the process a few times, he would end up with the cookie dough that he would be using to make his desert, a bag of chocolate chips and a bag of shredded coconut having been used. With the dough now finished, the red-head would need to make the dough cold to make it easier to handle when he began to bake it later. Thus, the next step would be to throw it into a freezer, also provided by those running this contest and allowing him to move onto his next step… candied bacon! ”Let’s see if your sweet tooth can handle this!” the freelancer would shout once more as he set up three trays with aluminum foil beneath them. On said foils he would begin to put strips of bacon down, spreading them apart evenly but fitting an ample amount on each tray. He would then begin to sprinkle brown sugar on each stray, coating the bacon evenly and then adding some maple syrup for good measure. At this point he could throw the bacon in to begin cooking in the oven but Felix wasn’t no punk and wasn’t about to make this meal forgettable. No, this meal was going to be epic damn it and thus another layer of bacon was added on each tray going sideways! Much like the layer beneath it, the bacon would have brown sugar sprinkled on it as well as syrup before being folded into a weave of sorts, otherwise known as a “Baconweave”. With that done, now Felix could feel satisfied in putting the bacon in the oven, and allow said bacon to bake for twenty minutes at 400’ F. At least for ten minutes because he would then pull the trays out of the oven and grab a pair of trusty tongs nearby. ”BACONWEAVE FLIP!” he would shout as he turned over the first weave of delicious candied bacon, ”DOUBLE BACONWEAVE FLIP!” he would add as he grabbed another pair of tongs and did both weaves simultaneously. With the baconweaves flipped, he would put them back in the oven to bake for another ten minutes before taking them out. What came out was a beautiful sight, golden brown bacon as sweet as honey and cooked to absolute perfection. Not only was the sight beautiful but the aroma that wafted in the air was heavenly, akin to a bakery in the morning when all the sweets were being prepared. The smell was so alluring that Felix was tempted to just eat the baconweave by itself now but exercising a great amount of willpower, he managed to hold back the urge. No, he couldn’t eat such an essential part of his masterfully crafted desert, he had a contest to win and nothing, not even his own stomach would stand in his way! With his resolve more firm than ever before, he moved onto the next step pulling out three circular trays meant for baking layers of a cake. He then moved to take the dough he had prepared earlier out of the freezer, feeling it first to confirm that it was as cold as needed and glad to see it was. He would then separate the dough into three parts, each part filling up the tray they sat in completely and threw each into the oven. Switching the oven to “Convection Baking” this would also allow the layers of his soon to be cake to bake more evenly and be that much tastier when they came out. With the layers baking away, the freelancer now had time to make the frosting for his cake… cream cheese frosting to be exact and homemade at that. Thus four ingredients were pulled out once more, some of them already present but others having been put aside until he got to this step of the process. Whatever the case, Felix would take another bowl throwing in 8 ounces of cream cheese and a stick of softened butter. Taking a wooden spoon, he would begin to cream the two ingredients together until they were thoroughly mixed together before adding a teaspoon of Pure Vanilla Extract. Slowly thereafter, he would add two cups of sugar, adding it gradually as opposed to dumping it all at once to make it easier to mix. Within ten minutes he finished mixing the cream frosting and with another ten minutes the layers of his soon to be cake were done baking. Pulling them out of the oven, the three layers were perfectly baked as expected, not too little baked where they felt doughy when you bit in nor too baked and thus too crunchy/dry. Letting them set for about another five minutes, Felix would then proceed to the final step of this process, building this three layer cake. Yes, this was the really fun part, putting it all together and Felix couldn’t help but pretend to pull his sleeves up dramatically for the occasion. And once they had been pulled up he immediately went to work on the first layer, coating it in the cream cheese frosting he had made. Once sufficiently slathered with said frosting, Felix would pull out the big guns as he threw on the table several types of candy. Gummi strawberries, twizzlers, cotton candy, gummi bears, gummi worms, M&Ms, and last but certainly not least, gay bacon strips Rainbow Belts! Once they were put on the table, the freelancer wasted no time to begin coating the top layer with an assortment of candies that would make Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory pale in comparison. To finish it off, he would then throw the candied baconweaves from earlier, putting one directly on top of this first layer of cake. Needless to say, this process continued for the next two layers, Felix stacking another layer on top of the bottom one and the one on the middle. They were all coated in cream cheese frosting as well as the assortments of candy that Felix had brought with him for this contest. Then to top it all off, each layer had that layer of candied bacon place atop it to make the cake even more awesome than one could think possible. And with the last baconweave place on top, the freelancer took a step back to take a look at his epic creation, a single tear being shed. ”It’s so beautifully epic,” he whispered to himself as he wiped the single tear away. Whatever the case, he would then bring his massive creation over to the judges, a wide grin plastered on his face as he crossed his arms. ”Well I hope you enjoy and I hope you have your dentist on speed dial cause I’m about to give your sweet tooth some root canal,” he stated, meaning it as a joke although considering the amount of sugar this thing had to have may have been speaking more truth than falsehood, ”And once you eat your fill feel free to give it to all the other folks as that can feed at least a good 100 people,” he finished, stepping back and taking a seat on his cooking station awaiting the results.
