This was far from the greatest of startings!
Deep in the dark depths of the Interdimentional Rift resided the greatest and well-loved swordsman of all the worlds. His name was Gilgamesh, champion of the sword and slayer of beasts. His travels had taken him far and wide, but unfortunately he had come upon quite the pickle. His weapons! Oh his beautiful weapons! Why would not come to him upon request! Gilgamesh knew he had access to his babies, but even so it took time to even summon one weapon and even when he summoned said sword any other blade that he held would vanish! Was fate pulling a cruel prank on him? Gilgamesh would not be the fool! No siree!
Luckily for such a skilled swordsman such as himself he could at least summon the mighty Genji Blade at any time and not have to give it up once it was summoned. He would say that fate was smiling down with him, but fate was already being an ass by sealing his weapon so he merely felt it was his pure skill that allowed him access to the blade. Returning back to the pickle that Gilgamesh was in, the problem he held was that access to the space cutting blade Zantetsuken was sealed and it would take a huge amount of valuable time to even summon…it’s not like he is lazy to try and summon the blade…no siree!
Without Zantetsuken to cut open portals to other worlds Gilgamesh was stuck searching for any wayward cuts in space for him to go through. “Hmm…now where to find an exit…” Gilgamesh mused as he walked on but stopped the moment he noticed said exit he spoke of “well…that’s convenient!...HOORAY FOR PLOT CONVENIENCE!” Gilgamesh cheered as he leapt through the cut in space.
Through the portal he found himself facing against a surge of wind and a twilight hue. It was in the skies of Twilight Town that the portal and formed and the mighty Gilgamesh that had leaped into it so bravely was now plummeting down from said skies. Others would be scared, but Gilgamesh was no coward! He laughed a hearty laugh as he descended, intending to land on his two feet, but he did not expect the descent to be so quick. In the end Gilgamesh found himself landing face first on the hard concrete. And so Gilgamesh laid there unmoving for a good long time until he immediately jumped up to his feet in a quick reaction “NOBODY SAW THAT!” Gilgamesh yelled glancing around quickly and let out a sigh in relief. He didn’t see anybody, but then again his head was spinning so that really didn’t mean anybody was not around. Even so, Gilgamesh walked forward and crossed his arms, glancing outwards. He had appeared to land on a hill, which gave him a good view of the world he landed in. “Ah a twilight hue! Such a rare sight! It makes you really appreciate life when you can witness such a fleeting sight! I shall now watch it until night claims its beauty!” Gilgamesh said wiping a tear from his eye before crossing arms once again and stared off into the skies.

The witch was not as lucky as the swordsman and found some convenient plot device to help her between worlds. She was stuck with having to travel like normal folk or bade her Guardian to find her the dark passages that littered the worlds, which only seemed to be growing. When she woke up she found herself laying amidst a blazing sunset. The pell of the clocktower told of the passing hours, a day long gone and never to return. It was a moment forever frozen in time. Rin had sat up and rubbed at her eyes, a familiar bark cut through the air. Looking to her side Angelo ran up to her, nearly pouncing her mistress in joy. Each time the trips got a little easier. She wrapped her arms around her partner, laughing.
“Heya sweetie, do you know where we are?” She pushed to her feet, looking around as if having expected a clear answer of some sort.
The dog bounced and padded in a circle as her stubby tail wagged in excitement. Rinoa stepped forward as she looked around. Rinoa did not seem to be a soldier of any sort, not even an acclaimed hero! On her wrist sat the mount for her Blaster, but it did not seem that the blade was mounted. The young witch looked around, finding herself in a rather peculiar situation, but luckily she was, for once, in civilization. She inhaled deeply. Though the scents were different, there was life here! It made her laugh out, her chest heaving with joy!
“Come on Angelo!” The dog barked in response, turning to face her mistress.
Rinoa hurried along, eyes dancing along the lovely scenery. The maiden was always taken by such simple displays of nature. As she rounded a corner there was a sudden thudding noise, as if something, or someone, fell! She jumped back in surprise, pulling her hand over her mouth. It seemed someone had all but fallen head over heels. She was about to reach out to the individual, but they sprang to their feet like a proud and healthy beanstalk. She could not help but laugh into her hands. They seemed to stare off into the great beyond, admiring the beauty of the Twilight as well. The man looked familiar, but the witch could not quite place it. Honestly he reminded her of those clowns that often danced during the parades in Galbadia. It always made her laugh!
“Hey… mister?” She really had to resist the chortles that bubbled from her chest as she stepped forward. “D..do you kn--know where we are?” But no more could the witch hold it in and she began to just laugh.
Angelo let out a bark, the laughter a sudden inclination of how quickly Rinoa lost her maturity.

His time of musing over the bright twilight sky was interrupted by the sudden sound of what Gilgamesh could only tell was the voice of a young maiden. He voice was stuttering and Gilgamesh could only assume this girl was a timid individual that was either too shy or too blinded by his amazing aura. It was only right for a hero such as himself to help a fair maiden in her woe. Turning around to face her, Gilgamesh closed his eyes and smiled ready to answer her.
“Ah so you need help! I then it is only fair that I shall..” Gilgamesh began to say before opening one eye, peeking at her only to watch the girl begin to break into laugher. “H-H-HEY! WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING?!” Gilgamesh said opening his eyes and furrowing his brow, not amused at the sudden burst of laughter. Did she watch his entrance? “I will have you know that I take serious indubious offense to that missy! How dare you laugh at the great Gilgamesh! THE GREAT GILGAMESH IS NO LAUGHING STOCK!” Gilgamesh said placing his hands on his waist as he spoke. He was very insulted and such a reaction only deserved a spanking or two, but Gilgamesh would not fall that low.
He would not be the immature one of this conversation! No siree! He would be the responsible one! He will be the one that stood on top in the conversation! Closing his eyes, Gilgamesh crossed his arms and looked away, pointing his nose up with a scoff “HMPH! And here I was ready to help you! I know where we are and everything! I was soooooo going to tell you, but the chance has gone POOF!” Gilgamesh said doing the only mature thing there was… lying his butt off in order to try and make her regret her laughing at him.

The sorceress could not help her amusement. It was not as if she thought less of the strange man, she just thought differently of him. He was not an ordinary fellow, his clothing clearly spoke of this. But it seems her amusement wounded his pride. It could have been her laughter, as harmless as it was. Or he could have been caught red handed doing something unmanly; perhaps admiring a sunset was uncool?
The young witch pressed her hand to her mouth, stifling her dying laughter. Angelo looked between her mistress and the man. The strange wanderer had a curious nature that intrigued her canine senses. He carried many smells and seemed to have no true place to belong. The dog had pity for the loners, but unlike her mistress in the past: this fellow seemed to have a handle in his priorities. The mutt sat down by her mistress and wondered what she was going to do. The man seemed upset, but not angry.
"Sorries," The witch clapped her hands together in front of her face in an apologetic manner. "I didn't mean to spy." Honest she didn't, she had made an awkward turn around the corner.
Something was chewing away at her. It was like repeating dream. Her Guardian remained silent, steadfast in his own languid nature to interfere. So long as she did not waver in her strength the Guardian Force did not see need to protect. Rinoa clutched her hand over the rings that hung from her chest, her other arm folding behind her back. Brown eyes blinked up at the Wandering Swordsman.
"I am sorries, honest." She provided again. "It's just, you reminded me of something from a long time ago. It had made me really happy." Her smile was honest and bright.
Her words were true. Galbadia always had reason to celebrate. They were the ruling superpower on their continent after all. The military power allowed them to preserver after centuries of war. Parades were always held for one victory or another, or due to some soldier acclaimed by the people to have been a hero. Yes the parades often rang through the city atop the plains. Many of these events, at earlier times in her life, were a family affair. She always remembered sitting on her mother's lap as the lounged in the greasy hills on their property, watching. She remembered something important her mother once told her.
The heroes that never had parades always had songs written about them. The true heroes were always sung about.
"I just wanted to know about this place... Than I happened upon the sunset and you..." It was a funny feeling, but a strangely warm one. ❤ tags: Next~! ❤ powers used: n/a ❤ notes: It was a happy memory. ELECTRIC OF GS AND BTN

Her laughter came to an end and an apology came soon after, albeit it, it was quite a silly one. Nonetheless he would stand strong and not accept such an apology with such a carefree nature. Even with this state of mind he slowly opened one of his pale white eyes and peeked over at the girl with an apology. She did have her hands together almost as if she was doing some sort of prayer. Was this some sort of way saying that he was a god? He was all great and mighty and totally handsome, but surely he wasn’t a god! The girl did have the right idea to suck up to him.
Convinced and appeased, Gilgamesh lowered his head from its uprisen position and turned to face her once more. He said nothing and just stared at her face as she begun to speak. Arms continued to be crossed, he raised an eyebrow as he listened to her reason and then all of a sudden BAM the feels began to hit. Here was an innocent looking girl with a bright smile complementing him by saying he reminded her of something she felt happy about and how did he react to her? He reacted with yelling and anger, that’s what. She could have been making an excuse, but looking upon that smile made him think otherwise. It was here that Gilgamesh felt like such a huge jerk!
Was she reminded of a gallant hero? Or perhaps she had heard about his endeavours and wished to bask in his glorious self. She did look really familiar to him, but his memory was not the best and he had been to many different places so it was quite a difficult to recall one face. In any case Gilgamesh was more than ready to accept her apology “Think nothing of it m’dear for I shall accept your apology!” Gilgamesh said closing his eyes happily “Never you fear for the mighty Gilgamesh is here to help! For I know exactly where we are!” Gilgamesh said placing his hand on his hips triumphantly as he puffed up his chest only to open his eyes and widen them once he realized he actually didn’t know where they were. “Ah…right…so…where we are isssssssssssss” Gilgamesh muttered turning his back to her as he desperately begun to look around for at least some clue as to where he was. There was no sign or anything to state where they were so Gilgamesh did the only sensible thing…wing it.
Turning around Gilgamesh once again closed his eyes merrily and raised his arms in a welcoming manner. “ERR…WELCOME TO…UM….” Gilgamesh said as he opening one eye discreetly looking around for something to use, but unfortunately the only thing that caught his eye was the twilight sky “ER…TWILIGHT…UM…TOWN…Y-YEAH! TWILIGHT TOWN! A TOWN FILLED WITH ALL THE ORANGE YOU CAN EVER DESIRE! FROM YOUR ORANGE FLOWERS TO YOUR ORANGE BASKETBALLS TO EVEN YOUR ORANGE ORANGES! SUCH IS THE TOWN OF ORANGE…I MEAN TWILIGHT!” Gilgamesh yelled getting more confident with his lie as he went on. He placed his hands on his waist and began to laugh a hearty laugh, but that only began to diminish to an awkward laugh. “eheheh…heh……………….. D’OH WHO AM I KIDDING! WHO THE HECK WOULD NAME THEIR TOWN TWILIGHT TOWN! EVEN I KNOW THAT’S RIDICULOUS!” Gilgamesh yelled holding his head at his blunder and then his body slumped with his arms drooping as he let out a sigh “Truth is even a mighty swordsman such as myself doesn’t know where we are” Gilgamesh said depressed.

Taking a few moments to calm her breathing the young sorceress pressed her open palm to her chest to take a deep breathe that would, hopefully fight off the remaining giggles that bubbles from her nose. The dark eyes woman had been earnest in her apology. She had no reason to tease the older male, though she did have a habit of speaking her mind before fully considering the consequences. The princess hopes he would except her apologies. After all her laughter stemmed from the very unmanly images of the Harlequin. The bright clothing and animated personality seemed to perfectly match the nature of the character's spirit. Hearing the man forgave her for her sleight made the young woman happy. Angelo stood beside her, the mutt's wagging tail a clear indicator of the stubby-tailed canine's excitement. Rinoa smiled brightly when he offered his name. It sounded familiar, though her memory was foggy. It was no surprise it was though. She felt that Diabolos was selective about where in her memory he decided to poke around. A majority of it had to do with her experiences with her first awakening into her power. Maybe it was what best fueled him? But he also seemed fond of the memories of her mother.
Those were almost completely gone, along with the sadness associated with it. But why had her happiness stayed?
"I'm Rinoa," she motioned her hand down to Angelo who sat down by her side. "And this is my partner Angelo." She introduced proudly.
Crossing her arms in front of her she would lean forward slightly, physically showing her attentive nature to the traveling sword hunter
They seemed proud and quite loud. It reminded her a little of Zell, but moreover it brought back memories of all the happy, animated people she has met through her life. He was as unique as they were and likely was not without his sadness, but stayed happy regardless.
As the man tried to boast and bluster his way out of naming the town Rinoa's giggles would quickly return. She turned to face the sunset. Her arms were now folded behind her as she ground the heel of her left boot into the soil beneath. A gentle smile formed on her features as she took in a deep breathe, the winds of the twilight caressing her pale cheeks. She looked to Gilgamesh and nodded
"I like that name." She stated before facing the sunset once more. "I hear Twilight is the best time for dreams. It's when worlds are better connected and we can hear the wishes surpass the barriers of the heart." As she spoke she raised her hand to settle it over her heart.
She looked to the man, as giggle of mirth and hope escaping her as her hands clasped together in front of her chest, the silver rings hanging from the thin, silver chain softly clinking.
"Would you make a wish with me? Together, at least one of our wishes will get through." She asked.
Even if he denied her, the witch turned to face the warm lights of the twilight. Those red hues set the sea and sky ablaze, painting it a blood red hue. The fire it burned cut deep into the heart, chaining it to the past, present and future.

Rinoa…
Rinoa, Rinoa, Rinoa….where did he hear that name before?
He heard her laugh at him for the ignorance he held at the name of the town, but it was quickly forgiven the moment she complimented him about his name. She was quite the bubbly individual, but polite all the same. It was these kinds of individuals that Gilgamesh liked and even looking down at her dog only made him nostalgic of his time with his dear companion.
He still found the name he made a bit dorky, but she seemed to like it so he would just go with it and see what exactly she was speaking about. He watched her speak on about the twilight and it quite pleased him to see the girl appreciate the twilight just like he did. It was quite the poetic thing she said and though she seemed a bit ditsy, it was quite the example of judging a book by its cover.
He raised the brow of an eye as he stared at the girl and watched her begin to clasp her hand. He listened to her speak about making a wish and Gilgamesh found her idea to be quite the good one. “Indeed let up make a wish, let us hope that the twilight skies shall take notice of our pleas” Gilgamesh said facing the twilight as well, crossing his arms.
“Ah it is quite a shame that there are few that truly enjoy the beauty of the twilight. An ever fleeting and rare sight to be sure of…In such a busy time such a sight’s beauty is overlooked” Gilgamesh said. To see such light after traversing in darkness for so long, it warmed him up quite a deal. “Ahhh it truly makes you quite high on life doesn’t it?” Gilgamesh said closing his eyes.
A wish, it was that what they needed to make upon the twilight sight. His dreams were to collect the mightiest of swords, but there was something else, something he truly desired before he could claim the true title of greatest swordsman of all time “And so the mighty Gilgamesh makes the wish that this twilight shall lead me home! My dear friends have waited far too long and I do wish to do battle with them at least once more!” Gilgamesh declared.

Rinoa lowered her head as she listened to the man. He was a happy person and among the darkness that seemed to fill this world with dread and unpleasantness. She was glad to see that in all these vast worlds there still existed happiness among the sadness. He agreed to making a wish with her, making mention of how wonderful life felt. It made her a little sad that there were so many who experienced pain and suffering. Where no war existed there were still trials and pain that came with living. Though suffering allowed people to learn and grown, she never wanted anyone to suffer in the way she has seen war brought. The majesty of mercy was that anyone could carry it, but those who were most selfish could never bring themselves to pull themselves from harming others. Those are the ones the witch sought to pray for. Clasping together her hands Rinoa closed her eyes and looked down. Angelo, who still say beside her, lowered herself onto her belly. Her head sunk into her white paws, the tri-colored hound mimicking her mistress’ silent, submissive nature.
To make a wish you had to put all of your heart into it.
Rinoa always used to have very bright and endearing childish wishes. As she grew older she came to realize these empty wishes never came true because they had a strong selfishness to them. When the world because a clearer shade of gray, the black and white vanishing on the horizon of adulthood. Wishing for peace was useless if you did not fight. Wishing that everyone was happy was pointless if you did not make the effort to make them smile. Wishing for strength was worthless if you could not train your body and mind. Rinoa wanted peace, but was not strong enough to fight because she was unhappy. So what could she do to change this? A wish that was selfless? Her brows creased as the knuckles of her clenched hands pressed to her forehead.
‘I wish that these powers were taken from me…’
Maybe Hyne had the power to grant this wish. The woman blinked and turned her eyes up to the proud warrior. His wish was, unexpected to say the least. While he still held true to the heart of a warrior, the warm wish to return home caused her heart to skip a beat. Thoughts drew back to Squall and the others and of their home. So many things have changed and so have their home. Thinking about this her eyes pinched up into a warm smile, her small hand gripping the rings that hung from the silver chain around her neck. No matter where they went, she always felt she was at home so long as they were by her side, but thinking about Gilgamesh’s words it would seem that he was without his companions. This made her want to help him. He had been a nice man, and had forgiven her for her earlier sleight. She was a witch, right? So why couldn’t she grant him his wish, the wish he spoke with all of his heart.
“I’ll be your friend.” She crossed her hands in front of her and looked toward the Twilight.
Though she was no warrior, she has lived through many battles and could maybe entertain his will toward combat one day. Angelo stood up and looked between the two. She barked out as if to indicate a question toward her mistress’ words. Rinoa raised a hand to her mouth and laughed at the prodding canine. She pinched her eyes into a smile and shook her head, the raven black tresses dancing around. She pulled back a few of the hazel-highlighted strands behind her ear before finally continuing.
“I’ll be your friend, that way you’ll always have a home.” She clapped her hands together and winked up at the red-garbed warrior. “They say that home is where the heart is fondest!” Wherever your friends were, you could always feel at home. She looked down shyly. “Well, I’m no warrior… but I’ll stand by your side, if you’ll let me. I’d never abandon you.” She promised, Angelo confirming with a sharp bark!

Staring at the bright orange only made him think back to the times at his own home world, the very land were Bartz and female companions. The clashing of weapons and magic, ah how it was far too vivid in his mind. He really did miss those times and he couldn’t help but think back at them and wonder how his dear friends were. Did they really consider him a friend? After such a noble and wonderful sacrifice he had truly hoped so. Surely in their mind they would have thought he was dead, heck even he thought he would have died from the suicide attack. It was a miracle, but at least they were safe. Did they beat down the big boss man? Nah it was foolish to think otherwise, those guys were tough and it was no doubt that they were victorious. They would not make his sacrifice vain and he could bet that they were off gallivanting on another adventure.
His mind stuck to those thoughts, but this train of thought was broken the moment he heard the girl beside him speak up. “Wait wha?” Gilgamesh said raising an eye in confusion as he glanced over at the girl. He though he heard her say something like being friends, but he surely must have been hearing things! He continued to stare at her and listened to what more she had to say and his eyes immediately widened in shock when he realized he wasn’t hearing things.
“WH-WH-WHAAAAAAAAT?” Gilgamesh yelled as he immediately turned around and held his head, back facing the girl. “WHOA WHOA WHOA, CRIPES! YOU DON’T JUST GO UP TO A PERSON AND SAY STUFF LIKE THAT!” Gilgamesh said keeping his head down as he crossed his arms. He was caught off guard by the sudden response, a response that he never truly ever heard before. It was him that would always initiate the sudden invitation of friendship and even when that occurred he was always seen as the enemy or a rival that needed to be defeated. There was a short pause and then the sudden sound of sniffling. Was it that the mighty Gilgamesh was getting emotional? Nonsense! The mighty swordsman would never start to tear up at such a thing!“G-G-Geez! N-not cool! Not coooool” Gilgamesh said with what sounded like a sniffle, but totally was not a sniffle.
There was another short pause, but Gilgamesh raised his hand to his face, totally not trying to discreetly wipe away any tears or something. With a quick movement, Gilgamesh turned and faced the girl once more; placing his hands on his hips and eyes closes proudly. “Yes..Err…verily well then! The mighty Gilgamesh can always take in new pupils to study the ways of a warrior! From here on forth we shall be companions!” Gilgamesh said happily

Rinoa watched as the man responded to her words. He turned away suddenly. At first she had considered he was angry with her and she had perhaps chosen her words badly. Sometimes boys did not like things like that, thinking it made them weak. Not that she really cared. Her words were the truth and if a boy couldn’t accept a girl wanted to be his friend well -- she would punch them! She was a bit of a coward, but she always did what she had to and fought tooth and nail for what she believed in. No matter how much she argued with her father, they would alway share that Caraway trait of stubbornness. It was what made him a good father and a great soldier. Why else would he have hired SeeD to act if he did not see injustice? She herself was a bit selfish for not understanding that the reason he could not give Timber independence was because it was not something he was capable of. During Deling’s reign of dictatorship much of the military, and much probably still does, ran on the mood of the superior. Pay and ranks were cut on ability, insubordination and if the boss was in a good mood or not. She could never be angry with how poor Wedge and Biggs reacted to Squall and their presence. They tried so hard to be good soldiers.
Gilgamesh spouted out that her words were not something said out loud. She smiled and held her hand to her mouth in a soft laugh. Honestly she was often accused of this. The ‘Princess’ did not have the most abashed sense of self. There were things she would blurt out that a girl was believed to keep to herself. She was open and honest, often loud, about her feeling. Sometimes she could be dishonest with herself … for a long time she denied even an inkling of liking Squall. Sure she had flirted with him a bit, but harmless flirting did not seem to cross that thick head of his. She knows now there were many circumstances attributing to his more introverted nature that he could not help - but the thought of him linking her was -- weird! She never even thought he was her friend. When he went out of his way to save her, she began to question if he was really all that heartless. Just because you did not want to hear the things others had to say did not mean they were unnecessary. Friendship was important. Bonds created through friendship lasted for ages…
Beyond time.
When he accepted her devote claim, he brushed the embarrassment away and asserted she was not his student. Boys were always just so weird. Couldn’t they just accept a compliment? But that was okay. He accepted her in his own way and it made her happy. She was happy she had a new friend, but she was also happy that she opened his heart a little, at least that was how she felt when he admitted to accepting her. Rinoa’s eyes glittered, but now with the intricate emotions of excitement. The sheen was from tears that filled her, spilling forward from her spirit. She bounced on her heels, unable to resist the joy that filled her. Maybe it was the Twilight that brought on this overwhelming sense of accomplishment, or perhaps it was merely her nature, but she lunged toward Gilgamesh, intent on hugging him tight. Angelo barked and jumped up and down, wagging her stubby tail at her Mistress’ happiness. The dog could feel the joy that overwhelmed her Mistress and the excitement in the air. She had not been happy like that for a long time.
“I’m glad!” She cheered out. She stepped back, whether or not he accepted her hug. “Thank you…” she laughed into her hand: “...sensei.” he reached up to wipe the tears from her cheeks. “Thank you.” he looked down, crossing her arms in front of her.
She couldn’t stop the tears. She did not know why she was so happy. Why did she feel this brought her just a little closer to Squall?

With his eyes closed he could not truly expect what would happen next, but when it did occur Gilgamesh was purely caught off guard. The sudden contact with his body shocked him and immediately his eyes widened. He nearly staggered back, falling on his back, but Gilgamesh was able miraculously keep his balance and glanced down at the girl below him.
He felt something wet on his chest and the only logical explanation was that she was crying…or maybe slobbering…or maybe it was a nose cold….dear god Gilgamesh hoped that it was the first one. Taking the assumption that it was tears, Gilgamesh’s body was totally frozen as if hit by a paralysis spell. Making another assumption that the girl was crying tears of joy, Gilgamesh proceeded to begin to think of why the girl was crying in the first place. Sure he was quite the handsome devil and any girl would be quite lucky to be by his side, but Gilgamesh began to think this was merely something not of a romantic nature. It made more sense that the girl was crying in joy at the sheer fact that he had accepted her as a pupil. For a great swordsman like himself to take her in as student must have been a great and glorious thing! Just imagining all the skills and strength she would gain would surely bring a person to tears! If that was the case maybe it was because of a reason he knew all too well…a loneliness that had followed him for such a long time…to be relieved of that sheer loneliness and to be able to happily call a person a true friend….maybe she cried tears for that…naaaah Gilgamesh totally began to believe that the blinding beauty of being a student was the cause.
Though he accepted her hug, he did not return the hug and had his arms spread out, unsure if he should embrace the girl back or not. In the end he really did not have much time to ponder about this as the girl’s grip on him had been released and the girl took a step back. Gilgamesh closed his eyes and let out a soft sigh, but his eyes opened up widely in pure shock the moment he heard her call him sensei. His face began to heat up the sheer moment he heard her, feeling some form of happiness and pride in being called sensei. This girl was far too much trouble already, messing around with his mind like that, but at the same time he liked the praise he was getting from her. It probably was not even her intention, which only made things worse for somebody not that used to something like this…yup truly she would be a troublesome pupil.
He opened his eyes once more and noticed her continue to cry, a happy confirmation that his chest felt tears instead of snot or drool. Whether Gilgamesh should feel happy that a girl was crying was a different issue and for now he walked up to her. The tears were coming down quite heavy so Gilgamesh could only assume the girl was either super happy, or super sad…or merely hold a secret stash of onions somewhere…it would explain why he was manly crying earlier. He glanced around his body, realizing he had no real napkin of sorts so Gilgamesh improvised. Raising the tip of his red cape, Gilgamesh brought it up to her face and began wipe her face. He tried doing it looking away from her, trying to keep up his cool demeanor, but because he wasn’t looking at her he was just rubbing the cape all over her face instead of where her eyes were…it anything it looked like he was polishing a car or something “Wipe your tears…we have far and wide to travel forth! If home is where the heart is fondest then together we have a huge home to observe!” Gilgamesh said already wiping her face regardless as he closed his eyes trying to keep the cool demenor.

The young witch could not explain the feelings that gripped her heart with such emotion. Her time spent lost, she felt, had been her fault. She was afraid that she had perhaps forgotten that place they promised to meet were they separated from one another. She had not forgotten though, even if it was sometimes blurred between the lines of her nightmares and dreams. The woman could never forget after everything they had gone through, everything they must have gone through, to get to where they were. Even though she felt so out of place and as if she did not belong… Squall had made the effort to make her feel as if she was part of them by giving her a home within his heart. She did not suffer as they had, everything she did have she would give away if only to see others happy. She had always felt so guilty that she could not share her privileges. Maybe it was that given nature afforded to her by her mother, maybe it was her father’s who could not bare to abandon another in need?
She was taken by surprise when Gilgamesh reached out and attempted to wipe her tears, or smother her to silence. She sniffled and pushed away his cape, only realizing it was as such when she could better see. She blinked her eyes clear. “I’m okay.” Assuring him.
The young woman gripped Gilgamesh’s larger hands. They were the hand of a warrior, that much she could tell. The woman could not help but compare the feeling to Squall’s hands. He was a swordsman. By his blisters, by the strong grip and his inability to be gentle. Maybe he had yet to find someone to love to touch them soothingly? Well it was no matter. Rinoa’s expression was warm, like that of a mother’s. She patted at the warrior’s hand, if he did not immediately pull from her, and released it thereafter. She folded her hands behind her back and stood tall, at least as tall as she could stand in comparison to the larger warrior. The sorceress pulled her fists up, her excitement now showing without tears. She was ready for this, even if she was not sure where the right path home was. As long as she was connected to people like this she felt she could do something more than just cry and whimper pathetically.
“Thank you sensei.” She giggled, liking the sound of that for the man. Though he did not seem very mature but when people had to take care of others, they eventually grew into themselves properly. “Can you… travel?” Though she could herself, leaving her new friend behind was no option. “I’ll stand by your side and learn what I can, please take care of me.” She bowed her head to him, Angelo barking in agreement. ❤ tags: Next~! ❤ powers used: n/a ❤ notes: We can travel together, for a little while longer! The soft grasp upon his hand was quite the foreign one, one that he never really felt before. This woman was surely going to be a troublesome one, that he was quite sure of. Where was all the sighs that he usually got? Why was there such a sweetness as well as an enthusiasm that was similar to his own? It was all too strange to him and it was going to kill him with confusion should he not adjust to it. He needed to accept that he had the perfect student and that he would finally be able to become the ultimate master! Together they would be able to become the greatest there ever was!
“Ahh yes! You have a keen eye my dear apprentice!” Gilgamesh stated placing his hands on his waist as he puff up his chest. “For somebody like me the borders of the worlds are nothing but child play really. I’ve traversed far and wide and met many powerful warriors, like one with a reaaaaaally pointy helmet…man that guy’s cold stare scared me….” Gilgamesh said slumping a bit while saying the last part with a bit of silence. Regardless Gilgamesh was back up puffing his chest haughtily as he continued on. “As I was saying the borders of the world cannot hold me back in my epic quest and it’s all because of this legendary sword! BEHOLD” Gilgamesh yelled as he rose his palm up to the sky and held it up with his eyes closed and a smirk upon his face.
He held it up there and just stood there unmoving as nothing happened. There was silence and slowly Gilgamesh opened up one eye and peeked up at the empty hand risen up. Immediately after staring up at his empty hand, Gilgamesh’s shoulders dropped and Gilgamesh slumped in despair “Ah…that’s right…my babies have grown defiant and won’t let me summon them…” Gilgamesh said sadly almost as if he was about to cry.
Taking a bit of time to compose himself and prevent himself from wallowing in despair, Gilgamesh sat up and crossed his arms and begun to ponder about his next step. “Well then Zantetsuken is being stubborn and won’t let me summon him…or her…perhaps if I gain enough exp I’ll be able to get it out but for now unless you have a way out of here we are stuck in this world for a bit.” Gilgamesh said staring out at the twilight scenery once more. “Though this is not necessarily a bad thing…for it gives us some time to explore about this Twilight Town” Gilgamesh said using air quotes with his fingers when saying the name Twilight Town.

Rinoa was glad that Gilgamesh did not harshly pull away from her touch. His hand was warm and reminded her dearly of those strong individuals in her life like Squall and her father. She could not help recall these memories around him. It was as if the red warrior called to them from her dreams. She had once been surrounded by an unbreakable Nightmare, one that even the great Diabolos could not break. Perhaps that was why he held a stronger lead on her this time. Whenever she fell to slumber, there was her Guardian consuming her terrors and using them to strengthen himself. She had been unaware just how much fear falling into the clutches of the evil sorceress had caused her until he bade her into his domain. The woman looked up, her large, bright eyes blinking as the sword hunter began to boastfully puff out his chest and stand like a proud soldier. Though his pose easily reminded her of a saying back home: the higher you hold your head, the more likely it is to be bitten off by a Behemoth. It seemed fitting seeing as the tall man was rather proud. He had an unshakeable confidence in part due to his unbridled energy. It reminded her of Zell in many ways.
She laughed softly into her hand. “Is this another superhero thing?” She wondered as he held out his hand.
It looked like he was waiting for the bright display lights to glimmer behind him like they often did in comic books. She did have the guilty pleasure of reading them occasionally. It was one of the few things that Zone collected that did not fall under the ‘naughty’ category. Maybe he had started buying them to throw her off the trail? The young rebel did have a habit of finding them and stacking them neatly. Honestly the way he hid them was messy and whenever she went looking for tools to fix creaky doors or some tape to put up fliers in town they would tumble out of every which corner. Maybe she did it to keep things tidy, maybe she did it to spite him and tease him at the same time. Regardless of her intentions they were stalled by the rampant scattering of comics that the sheltered General’s daughter easily took too. She watched as Gilgamesh stood in concentrated anticipation. Was he waiting for something to happen? When the warrior claimed he had been waiting for a mighty blade to appear she could not help but smile wide.
“What a strangely common name for something that seems so powerful that it’s capable of defying you.” She pressed her index finger to her chin thoughtfully before laughing. “Like a spoilt child!” The comparison was a bit ironic.
She, herself, had been a bit spoiled for much of her life, but that came with the ignorant bliss of naivety. She could not help that her early life was left sheltered and every need she had was cared for without ever knowing where her food and warm clothing came from. She had always, perhaps, been that way. Outside of the Caraway stubbornness she held a strong drive to travel and learn. She had heard the stories in passing from her father when he was able to reminisce without the sting of loss. She had always wanted to see the beauty of the world for herself, the way that her first love had described it. Maybe talking of his wife’s lost love was painful in and of itself? But her father never seemed to hold jealousy toward them. Maybe it was just outside of her father’s nature to feel jealousy. He was, too, a loving man. She had to admit that most of her love was thanks to him as she did not have her mother long to truly know what her love meant. Sensei seemed intent on gaining experience to earn Zantetsuken’s trust. She thought on that. It seemed to make sense. You could only learn new things and get stronger through experience, and the best way to do that was to travel~!
She pumped her fist into the air, standing on her tip toes excitedly. “Alrighty! Let’s explore! That way we can get stronger! Lead on sensei!” She was pretty excited by the prospect.
To think he could summon a sword that sounded strangely familiar. What was it though? As Rinoa looked to Gilgamesh express the nickname they offered the town she would be more than eager to follow him. There was someone watching the pair though… Angelo hesitated. The canine companion looked back and whined softly. Rinoa, who was attentive to her partner, turned to look at her in question. Angelo had turned to look toward an alley from where someone, or something, had been peering out from, but when Rinoa’s chocolate gaze came upon the alley there was nothing of interest, but the dog would not simply cry for nothing. But there was naught the rebel princess could do for now. She patted the side of her leg to call Angelo to follow, which the loyal canine did. She moved to hurry after Gilgamesh, her head turning up as she smiled brightly. Folding her arms behind her back and marching along the warrior’s side she would consider her question.
“Where did you get these weapons?” If they were magical and just appeared on his command, they had to be magic?
Rinoa had always been fascinated by magic when she was little. After all Sorceresses were a symbol of power in her nation and there were always tales of how the only reason Esthar soldiers had won the war was because they had a sorceress at the helm of power. It was about the time Galbadia became obsessed with their kind and what they were capable of. But realizing the true power of the witches Rinoa came to fear that power and worry that every other kind of magic could be used for malice in the stead of the opposite choice of being a hero! What good was power if you were going to corrupt it? She never believed that absolute power corrupts, because many sorceresses were living quiet lives in the country or soldiers using ParaMagic machines, like SeeD, sought to protect the world. Those were the kinds of people she wanted to believe in and look up to. Was Gilgamesh a hero? ❤ tags: Next~! ❤ powers used: n/a ❤ notes: I always feel like somebody's watching me. Big strides were taken as the mighty Gilgamesh begun to walk forward, marching forward with a stride that only a boss could hold. He had been missing his faithful companion Enkidu for quite the long time, but at the very least had now gained a new companion so the loneliness had vanished. Being told to lead the way was not quite healthy for his ego, but regardless Gilgamesh continued marching on, his cape flowing as he walked like a true powerful and amazing warrior’s cape should.
The place really was quite the beautiful place and more and more as he walked on his appreciation for the twilight had grown, but something was off, something Gilgamesh was starting to observe with his very keen and sparkly white eyes. It had been quite the long time since he arrived in this town and set his gaze upon the beautiful twilight, but even so he was still staring at the twilight that never faded away. Where was the beauty of the stars and the moon? Where was the darkness that would drift the town into a peaceful slumber that would be awakened by the warmth of the mighty sun? This was not right! Not right at all! The beauty of twilight was that it was a fleeting moment that would appear for but a moment and fade away with the darkness. With it being out for so long, Gilgamesh felt like this practically eternal twilight was an insult to the true beauty that was the fleeting moment of twilight.
Darkness was something Gilgamesh was quite familiar with. Traversing into the darkness for such a mighty long time and fighting off the enemies of the rift was such a sorrowful thing. Those moments where he would see the light was always a moment he always enjoyed. It was something that held potential and hope for a grand and new adventure. It showed Gilgamesh that there was hope that he would be able to reunite with his friends at last.
He continued to march in thought, but the voice of his apprentice caught his attention and Gilgamesh looked down at her and laughed “Ahahahaha! Curious about your sensei are you?! Well listen up” Gilgamesh said putting out his hands. “I the mighty Gilgamesh had travelled many distant lands, lands similar to this and far different as well! I have met many powerful beasts and many powerful foes! I have traversed many of the ancient ruins, places of legends! There I would vanquish many challenges and claim the blades of legend! Many powerful foes dare challenge me, but with my strength only victory and their blades is what I gained!” Gilgamesh said moving his arms around dramatically as he posed many times. “…I also worked as an arms dealer once…but nonetheless! My strength and power is what gave me these blades!” Gilgamesh said.
