His honeyed voice trickled from his lips, causing Rinoa to glance up in attention immediately. What was that? She had to have gone made with loneliness! Really? Really really? He was not pulling her leg or anything? She looked down under the table, as if to make sure of this case! She arched a brow when she only came to see Angelo sleeping. It probably stressed Angelo out too, having to travel to find everyone. She was always a good girl. She really deserved a big treat for staying by Rinoa's side all this time. She could feel the Light in her heart strengthen as Squall's words pierced her heart. The server was a ways off from tending to them so she took the chance! The sorceress hopped to her feet, nearly tripping in the process, and made her way over to Squall. Now it was no zero gravity environment so she had to be gentle. She sat down on his lap. But something was not right.

No, it was not enough!

She squirmed a bit, shuffled and even grinned as she settled herself perfectly on his lap, as if he was made for her. As the server came with their meal Rinoa motioned her hand, to indicate to place both plates right there. Oh the stares, but Rinoa could care less! She was quite complacent in this idea of destroying any remaining, sovereign image Squall had in Radiant Garden. Her plunderous games aside she felt comforted. She moved to nestle her head against the crook of his neck, her warm breathe brushing against his skin. This close she could feel it: his heartbeat. Like a floodgate everything released. She succumb to her exhaustion so her body sunk against his. Her heartache was driven away by the familiar cradle of warmth and it was intoxicating. She was happy, so happy her body began to shake as she wrapped her arms around his neck and laughed into his skin, to fight the tears on her face.

"You really have gotten more lovey dovey." She would partially tease. It was his honesty she needed right now, his own way of trying. "How do you always know what I need?" Even when she did not.

It was not long before she turned so that she was chest to chest with him, keeping him locked on his chair so he could not see her useless tears, mere fountains that have collected over the course of her failures and worries. She continued to wiggle and squirm until her tears stopped. She giggled and rubbed at her face. She did not want Squall to see her tear stained cheeks. It had been a long time since she cried. But she was so happy.

Of course Rinoa would take up his offer in a heartbeat. However,
why did she have to constantly squirm and shuffle her body perfectly
in his lap? "Stop moving around like that, Rinoa." He said with a
firm voice. Rinoa was going to enjoy this far to much, wasn't she?
Squall was going to get an earful either way now. If he tossed Rinoa
off of him, he would get yelled at.

If he left the sorceress on him, the older ladies in the Garden were
going to get all jealous if they saw. Not like it mattered now. Soon
enough the food had been served with both plates in front of the couple.
Along with the food they have a few stares and glances. Of course it
was to be expected. Before he could mention anything, Squall was able
to feel Rinoa's head gently nestle against his neck.

Soon Rinoa had wrapped her arms around his neck. As she did this,
Leon wrapped his hands around her waist. Her body was just like a
wonderland. Just by feeling the skin of her hands on his neck,Squall
could feel how soft her skin was. Smooth. Before he could
continue to think, Rinoa had mentioned how he had become more lovey
dovey.

"Just this once! I haven't seen my princess in forever." He said with
his eyes still shifted to the right. Soon enough, he could feel his
chest touching her own. This kept him locked in the chair. Well there
was no going back now. "So how about we start eating?" Squall said
with a firm tone. They are here to eat after all. This really can't
be all play time.

The sorceress was a natural predator.they searched out for weakness and sought to tame it, even if the weakness was in themselves. Without Squall at her side she felt as if she was unable to fight, easily yielding to her baser human instincts toward cowardice. Naturally this was a case of Rinoa. The woman always preferred to find ways beyond bloodshed to solve a problem at hand. She felt talking was just a good a form of negotiation as the SeeD taught combat. This was also a clearly preferred method of torture. She would take to the back of her mind his strong response, but there was no way she was giving up her chance to hold her Knight. It was the solace of his touch that kept her from crumbling. She was always like this, ever since she was little. When she was scared or worried she would find comfort sitting on her parent's laps. Whenever she felt lost she would reach out and hug their arms.

Her father had been so cold when her mother died.

Now she understands that it was the heart of someone who lost their true love, so she does not blame him as much as she used to. She accepted it, but it took a long time. Even now she still has quirks that touch her in times of rare anxiety. Right now she was at peace. She was guiltily enjoying Squall just crumble to bits. This sort of lap sitting was not very discreet at all! She carefully shifted so that she was cradled on his lap, her arms slung over his shoulders to keep her in place.

"Feed me~" Oh she wanted to see how far she could get away with it! "Please, good Knight." She teased.

That was right... he was her Knight, but did he feel that way? Or was it just some puppy love they were attached to? If she had a choice, she wanted Squall to be her Knight.

Feed her? Well Squall had to give her props on trying
to be romantic. After all he wasn't doing much in that
department. "Err.." He softly said, while trying to
figure out what he should do. Well he didn't really want
to disappoint her, like he had been doing in the past. The
heck with it, he might as well amuse her for now.

With that he let go of Rinoa's waist and reached for the
fork and knife. Carefully, he cut a part of the tender
steak. It was small enough to easily put in ones mouth.
"Open up." He said while holding the fork with the small
chunk of meat on it. Rinoa must really be enjoying herself
right now, huh?

As Squall waited, he wondered what Zell and the others would
think of this. This really was an awkward situation to be in
really. Nonetheless he was going to suck it up for a little bit
longer. Maybe he should just think about what they should do
when they were done with their meal. Or well done with their
'romantic' meal.

She could not believe it! He was doing it! The day probably could not have gotten better. She was sure she would have exploded! Her heart was racing fast enough to let her believe such a thing was possible! It was great! But she did feel a little manipulative. Sitting on his lap like this probably gave him little choice, that and the very fact she probably would have fought tooth and nail to keep her rightful place. It was her rightful place. It took a bit of time to understand it, but she had loved him all along and wanted to stay with him forever. Just recalling his words earlier made her smile. It was like reading one of those romance stories. She blinked as his fork came toward her. She took a big bite and giggled, making sure to cover her mouth with her hand.

"Here!" Rinoa giggled.

She took the fork and knife from his hands, moving to cut up the meat herself. She smiled and pressed her back against his chest. Turning she would hold the fork up to Squall, a nice tender piece cut up for him. She smiled and would wait for him to take a bite. It was sneaky, sure, but sometimes Squall was quicker to protest than agree, though she was liking this agreeable Squall. Selphie would get a kick out of hearing he actually let her sit on his lap in public. Such a brazen show of affection was not something they ever thought Squall would allow. She was sure he was begrudgingly accepting it for now.

"Squall, you said you'd be with me forever right? If you meant it, will you be my Knight?" She would hurriedly ask, squirming in place, quite excited by the prospect.

She had no idea what it meant to be a Knight. She had thought it was just a romantic tale written in books or played in the movies. She was not even sure Squall knew what it meant.

Shortly after Rinoa had taken a bit, she took the utensils
out of his hands and cut a piece of steak. Before he even
got a chance to deny it from happening, a cut piece of
steak went right into his mouth. Slowly, he chewed on the
piece of steak as his eyes rested on Rinoa. Now what was
she going on about?

Didn't they discuss this already? Or is there a different
meaning to what she is saying this time? "Of course I meant
it, Rinoa." He paused for a brief second. Squall couldn't help
but get slightly distracted by Rinoa's scent.She smelled
something like flowers. "I made that promise to you already
Rinoa. I will be your Knight forever."

He is going to always protect his princess. As long as she
didn't leave his side, he could protect her. Squall would give
his own life for this woman. That is how dedicated he is to her.
With that thought in mind, he took the utensils back and cut a
piece of steak. Once again he attempted to feed her the tender
piece of meat.

A wolf in sheep's clothing. That is how she thought of herself. Squalls words were certainly a weight off her shoulders and a fire lit under her heart. Angelo had been attentive to her mistress' roller coaster of emotions as they rode up and down along Squall. What concerned Angelo was when Rinoa's spirits sank. Sometimes the moments were quick to pass, but they were always silent and devastating to the canine who could not seem to provide comfort. It was why the mutt showed a gentle understanding toward the need of Squall. It had always just been her mistress and her for a long time. She had been the only one by her mistress'; side that understood what she needed. Comfort, support and companionship had all been a job for the young canine. Rinoa had accepted Squall in a way Angelo could be supportive of. Squall was never seen as a threat. He was not growled at, nor bitten. He spoke to her with the same gentleness her mistress did. The dog understood very little of the needs of a human, but they understood human emotions clearly. Rinoa's content showed in Angelo's ability to simply lay sprawled under the table, enjoying the shade in the warm weather.

Rinoa was content. Squalls words affirmed that feeling. She wanted to make sure it was no longer a dream. She had so many nightmares that lead up to this day. Those nightmares seemed to violently cut through time and space out the efforts she made to progress. For ever step she took, the Nightmares showed her how far she had left to go. She could not blame her Guardian Force for the visions. If not for him she would have likely remained ignorant to her own shortcomings. The truth of her fears were laid naked before her and proof positive that she had a far way to go before she found him again. It was a cozy feeling that touched her heart. She was exhausted from the sleepless nights on the road, but she felt that all wash away thanks to Squall's gentle ways. Many may see him as cold, but he was very hard working and had a good heart that she wanted to protect.

She leaned forward and took a bite of the steak. She would chew and pick up her plate as she wriggled about in Squall's lap. Sliding her eggs on his plate she would set the steak she had on hers down on the floor. Angelo deserved a treat for helping her through the hard times. She gave a whistle, a sharp one that easily disturbed other customers, but the princess cared little for their trite and selfish inconveniences. The tri-colored mutt slowly stood and padded over to the plate with a light step. Hungry too from the long walks with her mistress: Angelo would quickly munch down her due reward. Rinoa pulled herself back up. She grinned a bit to herself, clearly having way too much fun. She settled her hands in her lap and turned her dark eyes to Squall, smiling brightly, well aware of the trouble she was causing him, but not caring. He was not going to scold her, at least straight away, so she would relish in her games. She loved him and loved all the expressions he made in response to her behavior, however minute they were.

She leaned yawned widely, patting her hand over her mouth. her body would seem to simply slump and sink against Squall as her head came to rest on his shoulder. Her warm breath would brush against his skin as a sneaky smirk coiled over her lips. Her voice exhaled in a soft whisper.

"Squall tastes better than the steak, but I still rather eat the steak~" She sat up and kissed his lips on the incline! Mischievous little nymph would rule the world with her naughty games! Or annoy it! "Come on Squall~Another bite~." As if she had done nothing of the sort!

Squall watched as Rinoa had taken a bit of that tender piece of steak.
It seemed that almost everything about this girl had amused him. A few
seconds passed by, and she tossed her eggs on to his plate leaving her
steak on the other plate. Leon said nothing as he simply watched the girl
put the plate on the floor for her dog. What she did next he was slightly
surprised by. She had soon rested her head on his shoulder.

"Rinoa, not in pub...." Before he could say a word, Rinoa had kissed him
right on the lips. Once more Squalls cheeks had turned bright red as he
heard her saying she wanted another bite. Leon really wanted to say
something about this, but he couldn't. Squall honestly had to say he
enjoyed Rinoa's playfulness. However, he would like this to happen in a
more private area.

After all he does need to maintain a strict professional like image. Maybe
for the moment it would be ok? Of course he needed to have a good conversation
about this with her later. However, if he continues this wouldn't that make
him a type of hypocrite? Screw it he'll go along with Rinoa's little game, and
talk to her about it later. "Another bite?" He said softly, but loud enough for
the girl to hear. With that he leaned in for a kiss, but held the kiss for
a solid minute.

If the mercenary was a lion, then what did that make her? The princess was, by all extent: a glorification of beauty, innocence and power bundled into a neat package. When she wore dresses men fell to their knees to take her hand and parade the porcelain doll through a crowd of daggers. But beneath the primp and power were the fierce talons of a sorceress. The powers wield could bring countries to their knees, but her purity remained. Not a drift of mutation marred her perfect skin. She walked along a tight rope controlled by fear and wanting to be accepted by her subjects. But in her kingdom there was only one who she sought to treasure, protect and be protected by. She was a princess locked in a castle. When freed the chaos she rained down was that of a child looking to get the upper hand by any means necessary.

Now was one of those times.

Her attempt to fluster Squall only had half power. Her mind was nothing dark, far from it, but it could be quite devious and full of that deep-seeded need to control a situation and have it go her way! It could be simply because she was spoiled, or had a way she felt things should work out. She smiled brightly, Squall's cheeks not unnoticed, but one should be aware of that devilish grin forming at the edges of her lips. How many colors of the rainbow can Squall change to? When she felt his lips to hers, his words echoed between her ears as her heartbeat flooded her senses. Her lips coiled up like Cheshire's grin in the kiss.

"Why thank you Squall..." She murmured and bit down on his lip. After a good bite she sat up and took his hand, moving the fork to her mouth to chew on the tasty steak. "Still not as tasty as Squall~ I'm convinced now."

Squall had to admit that kiss was most certainly pleasurable. He
just had so much bottled up emotions for this girl. Which is why
he could let the playfulness slide. Leon felt the warmth of Rinoa's
hand as she gently took a hold of it to feed her self a piece of steak.
He couldn't believe that just her touch made him the happiest he could
ever be. She was most certainly not like any other girl he had known.

"I must be a treat then, huh?" He said rather confidently. At this point
his image must have been shattered with whoever was here. However, he
knew that most of the people wanted him to be happy. After all most of
the time he is rather serious. His portrayal around here is that his the
friendly, caring, slightly broody, and professional mannered type of guy.
Since they were playing this game he should just enjoy if for now.

"Take a longer bite this time." Squall suggesting that they have a much
longer kiss. Sure he was spoiling his woman, but she deserves it. After
everything he had put her through. Of course the moment they are done
here they have to play a little game of catch up. So Leon was going to
take this as a unofficial date. They might as well have a little fun right?

Rinoa smiled, enjoying Squall's gentle touches and loving attention. He kissed like a pro, which made her suspicious, but thinking about it she would giggle. It was not that he was a professional, heavens forbid that she even considered such an outrageous idea! The truth was, she simply loved his kisses and they made her happy! The affection carried through her heart and she felt as if she could fly. But again the though of her wings burdened her. They were something that should give her flight, but instead she found herself cradled in he arms of the earth as she fought to raise above the clouds and be something -- someone important, someone who changed the world for good and did not darken it in the clouds of terror that the sorceresses before her had. They were her reason for keeping control. He was her rock in a world of quicksand.Squall always had a way of giving her what she wanted. With all this nagging attention to boot!

She enjoyed the attention but she was sure that Squall was writhing in it. She felt this was a an important time to commemorate. She found him again and could finally be happy, but that would mean the story was done. They still had to find their friends and help these people.These monsters, these Harbingers, brought fear and danger to others. She supposed, she should stop teasing him, but she had her reservations about that! She pulled from Squall's lips and smiled as she grasped onto his face. She pressed her forehead to his and smiled.

"I really appreciate it Squall." She giggled. She was thankful for him. His words and actions alike.

She appreciated everything he said and everything he did for her. A sad smile graced her lips as her blushing cheeks pinched up in a laugh. He always gave her this warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Her powers started to quiet down, settling into the recesses of her subconscious, at least for the time being. This was a new world and they would probably learn to have to live here, because there was no way she would leave Squall here on his own.

"But, I want to.... grow a bit more. I want to learn about these....Heartless." She wanted to be of some usefulness. Spending all that time wandering she could see and understand that she was falling behind this world.

Squall was enjoying his lengthy kiss with Rinoa, but soon enough she slightly
pulled back. Only to firmly grasp his face and put her forehead against his
with a smile. However, it didn't take long before his girlfriend had mentioned
about growing, and learning more about the Heartless. This was something he
didn't want to do right now, but it was probably for the best. "Everyone wants
to be stronger, and gain knowledge." He paused.

"If you want to learn more about the Heartless. Were going to have a little
adventure." As much as he didn't want to go back to Castle Oblivion. It was
the best way for Rinoa to actually learn about Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed.
However, Squall had just recently learned about the Unversed. His first encounter
with them was when he ventured to Beasts Castle. The moment he had got back, Leon
began to do a little research.

"Were going to Castle Oblivion. It'll take forty minutes to get there." Squall
paused for a moment. "Did you want to relax longer, or go now?" Leon wanted to
relax a bit longer with Rinoa. However, he would take her there now if she really
wanted. Of course they needed to finish eating too. So everything was up to Rinoa.
What would she want to do?

Was that really the case? Was it truly something everyone sought to obtain? In truth she would be happier blissfully ignorant of the world around her. The more you learned the more pain it brought into the heart. She felt that there was no way to truly avoid such things in the changing world. Views shifted and the hold of power was ever changing. She had already grown very powerful, but to wield that strength she needed more than to simply cling to Squall and hope he drove it all away. That was what she wanted, but that was not reality. She smiled weakly, but nodded at Squall's words. She had never head of this place, but if it would help she could not help but agree.

She wanted to live in a world of peace. A world where people did not fear sorceresses or were forced to carry the overwhelming power of Hyne because of the selfishness of humans long passed. Maybe, if she did well enough: in the end Hyne would come and take it back. Maybe his other half would find him once more and the stigma that encapsulated all sorceresses in a sphere of fear and hatred, would shattered. The clear crystal would reveal the mirror images of the long lost souls and free them into the world beyond this one. When she died -- she did not want to pass her powers on to anyone. She did not want them to suffer...

"That sounds nice." She smiled and curled up against his body.

She really was tired. Leaning against him she would listen to his heart. Is this what the Heartless lacked? Even so... they were clearly still alive somewhere deep down. Her heavy lids closed as her body sunk into the embrace of Diabolos, the emissary of Dreams. In his grasp the sorceress would relive the mistakes of her past and the choices of her future. The Guardian would weave pleasure between her senses and unravel the terror she had felt for so long. She would no touch a nightmare, so long as he was close: her Knight and dearly beloved.

It was not long before a soft snore indicated the princesses slip into the Dreamworld.

It hadn't taken long before Rinoa had completely fallen asleep on him.
Perhaps it was that time to go then. Squall took a deep breath before
reaching down his pocket to leave some Munny on the table for the food.
With that, Leon picked up Rinoa bridal style and began to head over to
Merlin's house. There they had a bed, fireplace and much more. So he
figured it would be good for her to be on a bed.

"She must have been tired." Leon said softly. It had only taken Squall
about ten minutes to make his way over to Merlin's house. From here he
struggled to open the door while holding Rinoa. Eventually, he managed
to get it open. Upon walking in the house, Leon went right over to the
bed and placed Riona down. Now his princess could sleep for as long as
she wanted.
