Sephiroth listened to what Ansem had to say; however, the Heartless highly doubted the man could comprehend what he was saying. Even though he did not turn turn to face the man for a long period of time as he spoke, he could sense it. The doubt and suspicion that the Heartless's dream was beyond the realm of possibility. It was a familiar feeling. It was one that other had given off way back then when he had been whole and been trying to make the X-blade. It was the same feeling that the original Ansem gave off when he went on his quest to study the darkest part of the Heart. It is the same feeling that Master gave off when he would not allow me to become a keyblade master.
What?
The thought stopped his brief run through memory lane as he pondered the oddness of it in the silence that fell between him and the silver headed man. It was not the first time these strange thoughts or emotions had hit him. While the Heartlesss was indeed mostly himself, mostly Xehanort, there were times when he encountered things on his path that tugged at the fragment of "good" that was in him. It was the piece that made him hesitate when he met certain people or encountered certain things. It was the other side of his dark heart. The side that always resisted Xehanort....and a side he could never name or quite grasp as to how or why it was there.
A lost memory of his strange Heart that fascinated and terrified the Heartless. What if...what if he did remember where those thoughts came from and those thoughts derailed him from his goals? Would he be able to get out of such a hole?
The Heartless continued to ponder this issue a moment longer as he kept his eyes on the snow covered path that curved gently up the steep mountains. His back was to the silver head man, so the man would not be able to see the thoughtful frown that lasted upon the Heartless's lips for a few seconds and then pushing the bothersome thought away, the Heartless came back to reality as he heard Sephiroth speak.
Keeping his hands clasped behind his back, the Heartless felt the man's eyes upon his back, but he did not turn as he simply bowed his head and closed his eyes as he listened to the words that came out of the man's mouth as a huge wave of disappointment and disgust washed over him.
The man was spewing the same nonsense that the Light spewed about the Darkness. It was destructive and could have no other purpose than to destroy. Light could not be beaten or erased. All were things the Heartless heard time and time again from the ignorant. He had hoped that this man would not spew such nonsense. After all he had such promise, but now? Now, the man had shown his true colors. But that was not all he did as he continued on, the already disgusting soup becoming even more sickening.
Now the man was speaking about what he knew from experience and how he had been dropped from god to demi-god and how he had dealt with the Light, Dark, and..
Keybladers?[/color]
Oho, so that is why he was in the library before. Searching for information about the keyblades. Had he been looking for a way to collect one for himself or perhaps how to obliterate the wielders? It was hard to say back then and he highly doubt that the plan of before would still stand now. This one was much too focus on a different sort of goal. now..one that led to a far worse fate than what the Heartless had in mind for the worlds.
The Heartless's path was not one to emptiness and coldness as the man thought. Ansem was not trying to obliterate the Light when he said he wished for it to submit. No. He was aiming for the perfect balance. The one that created the X-blade and made that thorn of a keyblader Riku so strong.
That balance is what he wanted. The one that accepted both Light and Dark and in turn allowed all to exist in one world. It would be his Heartless hunting ground and home and his greatest research facility yet, but before he could gain that sort of joy and peace he had to go through the hell that was inbetween. The small wars and then finally the last that war that would determine what state the worlds would be in.
This man said he wanted to destroy the old world and rebuild a new one? Heh! He could do that all he wanted, but it would not change the fact that in the end even that new world would succumb to what was to come.
Ansem had explained his situation hoping the man would see the truth and join him, but alas he had failed to do so....and now he was challenging the Heartless master. Such a fool...
As Sephiroth finished his words and finalized exactly what side he rested on, the Heartless sighed lightly as he shook his head as he finally turned to the man with his head bowed for a few seconds and then he was looking up at the man with a expression that was devoid of all amusement and friendliness of before, leaving only a face as blank and cold as the icy rocks that made up the mountain.
"I am disappointed, Sephiroth. Of all the beings out there who aligned themselves with the Dark, I would've thought you at least would have understood me, but I suppose my expectations were a tad too high even for you..." he trailed off for a moment letting the words sink in before speaking once more, his tones still cold. "You say you've been through much and yet for all your experiences, you are still as shallow minded as the fools who oppose me," he said as he frowned at the man slightly not hiding his slight frustration at the situation.
Then the frown was vanishing as golden eyes saw the man's hand move towards the hilt of his sword as he announced his final decision. Golden eyes examined the weapon and then drifted slowly to the man's face and green eyes.
There was a hint of sadness in those golden eyes as Ansem looked at Sephiroth coldly for a long moment and then settling into the mind of the two keybladers who had made him what he was, Ansem took a few steps back as he let his arms drop to his side.
He placed only a little bit of distance between himself and the man and then stopping slightly up hill, he looked at the man dead in the eye.
"You can try," Ansem said as a dark energy began to flow off of him causing the snow to tremble and the area around him to become sickening to be in as pure malice rolled off of the Heartless in waves. "Just like you can try to become a god if you want, but even then you will not be spared in the coming fires that will cleanse this world and birth it anew again," the Heartless told the man in calm cold tones as he spread his arms slightly to either side of him, welcoming the man to take the first strike.

"Shallow Minded?" He said softly. How could this Heartless not see that the Angel was in fact correct? Sephiroth is also aligned with the Darkness. "This is why, I must sever what ties us together. You can't see that there is more than one path before you. If someone is swayed from your side you'll attempt to eliminate them. I'm almost certain you would have betrayed me in the end as well."
Sephiroth began to grip the handle of his blade slightly tighter. The Angel was getting ready to make his attack, since the Heartless welcomed it. "I will spread the Darkness my own way." With his blade still sheathed, it began to gain a holy aura, and smother it in its light. This ability is known as Heaven's Lights. He acquired this ability when he was working for the God of Discord for a brief time.
"Prepare yourself!" He said the moment he had vanished into thin air. So how did he vanish? Sephiroth had activated his ability known as Teleport. It allows him to move himself anywhere around his opponent as he pleases. The One Winged Angel had soon reappeared right behind Ansem attempting a single upwards strike with his Heavens Light.
If the attack hits the ability will knock his opponent back. Quickly, Sephiroth attempted a fast, normal, horizontal slash before hopping backwards. "Come." He motioned for the Heartless to make his move.

There was a calm before the storm as the Heartless and the silver haired man stood facing each other in the tension that flowed between them. After the Heartless had lashed out at the silver head man for his way of thinking, he got a small response back and then there was silence. In this silence the Heartless could feel and see the offense of the man at being called shallow-minded. It was an amusing reaction considering how so against his way the man had been previously. Heh. Did he think that being a creature of the Dark that he had things figured out better than the Heartless? Now that was laughable. Unlike the man before him, Ansem knew what he spoke of and he knew that Darkness, just like Light, was a necessary force in the world for all to exist. The only thing different between him and this man before him was that what he sought was something very real - the perfect balance between the two forces. However, because no one understood or could even wrap their mind around such a thing, he ended up with this trivial nonsense about how he was the one that was blinded and narrow minded. That he could not see other paths when in reality he had seen and taken many. It really was a pity how the world and now he and this man had come to disagree so. Even as they stood there facing each other, the silver head man sought to prove Ansem wrong as he spoke, explaining why he could not be allies with the Heartless any longer. To this, the Heartless gave him a malicious grin that was more beastly than human as his eyes glowed brightly from the shadows of his cloak. "Perhaps I would've, but then perhaps I might not have. We will not know now since you have decided not to take a gamble," the Heartless said and then fell silent as he gave the man his chance to attack first. He watched as the man gripped the hilt of his sword tighter and heard the man's choice to spread the Darkness his own way. As he watched and listened, he saw the blade begin to glow with a strange light as the man kept it in its sheath and then when that light reached it peak, the man gave one verbal warning before vanishing from his spot leaving only a few black feathers to drift down into the pure white snow; however, Ansem was not interested in this somewhat symbolic scene as a grin appeared on his face. He stayed where he was for a second as he let his senses pin-point Sephiroth. When he sensed the man behind him, the Heartless leapt forward feeling the wind of the powerful swing as it barely missed him as he landed in the snow once more. As soon as his feet touched the ground, the Heartless was quickly turning in his spot as he summoned his dual soul eater to his right hand. Bring the weapon about to grip it in both hands, he turned it at a slight diagonal before him and then he was stepping back a few times to compensate for the impact of the horizontal slash that hit the body of the weapon causing light sparks to fly as a loud clang filled the air. He was in a brief lock with the man and then he was pushing off of the weapon just as the man decided to hop back a little. At the same time Heartless and angel landed in the snow now in opposite spots. Golden eyes watched the man before him carefully as malice and enjoyment flowed off the Heartless. While he had preferred to gather data on this man in a different fashion, he was also pleased to test the waters one-on-one. So the situation was pleasing even if he had failed to acquire a powerful tool to use. After all, information was just as valuable in the Heartless's eyes. Despite how pleased the Heartless was, he never showed it in battle as he continued to watch his opponent carefully. When he heard the man say "come", the Heartless easily complied with the command as he shifted his weight to his back leg and moved the staff he still held in both hands to a downward angle position. His body was twisted to the left and for one second it looked like he was about to the throw the staff at the man as he bent slightly in preparation for some attack; however, as the tip of the bottom blade dug into the snow, the Heartless made a powerful upward slash that caused the lose snow to shoot up in the air becoming a snowy wall that blocked him from view. With the view blocked, Ansem quickly stuck his staff into the ground before performing the necessary hand movements to form his lightning spell. Once the spell was completed and the ball had formed in his hands, he slung his arms outward stretching the spell and sending the horizontal line of electricity through the snow wall directly at Sephiroth. Regardless if the spell hit or not, Ansem would grasp his staff once more as he pushed off the ground and made his way towards the angel for a follow up attack. _______________________________________________________________ Cooldowns:[/u] Lightning: There is no verbal warning for this. Instead Ansem moves his hands as if he was trying to mold something into a ball. As he moves his hands quickly, a ball of electricity forms before it is ripped apart by him swinging his arms outward and down. The movement stretches the electricity and sends a horizontal line of lightning towards a target. If hit it does moderate physical damage and the shock has a 50/50 chance of paralyzing a person. : 1 post

Sephiroth was quite pleased that his opponent had managed to avoid his first few attacks. However, his opponent better not underestimate him. As he stood there he watched his opponent generate some sort of Lightning spell. Right as the spell was launched, the Demi-God blitzed off into the sky.
"It is a gamble, I cannot afford to take." He said in mid air.
His cold eyes peered at Ansem as the Heartless had grabbed his weapon. The Angel was roughly thirty feet in the air. As fast as he could, Sephiroth landed himself and Ansems right side. He noticed the Heartless was coming in for a follow up attack. That wasn't going to do at all. Sephiroth was the best swordsman, and he still believes he is.
So basic attacks were not going to be enough. With a slight grin, the Angel rushed towards Ansem. Once, close enough he made a swift upwards slash with his Masamune. Before he would back off, he had to make a follow up. Sephiroth, using his quick footwork to reposition himself in front of the Heartless. Only to make another swift horizontal slash.
With his guard up, Sephiroth took several steps back.

Ansem unleashed lightning upon his opponent; however, he did not think that it would hit. After all, he was dealing with a super power in this war. It would have been quite disappointing if a little spell were to take the man down, so when the powerful and skilled warrior took to the air, spreading those strange black wings of his out to gain flight, Ansem was not surprised.
Pausing only briefly the Heartless tilted his head slightly upward as he heard the man telling him that the gamble of trusting him was not one he could not afford to take.
"How unfortunate," the Heartless responded back in tones that held fake sadness. The Heartless continued to watch the airborne man, briefly meeting the cold gaze of Sephiroth with a glare of his own that was laced with slight agitation, but nothing more. His face remained a blank slate as he watched the man above him a few seconds longer and then with a blink, Ansem was looking away as he pulled his weapon out of the ground and began to move as the nightmarish angel began to descend upon the land as fast as black lightning. Sensing the man to his right, Ansem pulled slid to a halt kicking up the snow slightly with his actions as he planted his feet firmly in the cold ground and then turned his body and weapon to meet the upward strike.
Clang!
The two weapons met and separated as Ansem took few quick steps back to rebalance himself after the first attack and then the man was coming in again for a second attack. As the horizontal strike came in, Ansem once more shifted his position and turn his staff to guard against the blow. The deafening sound of their weapons meeting once more announced the success of the block. The silver head man backed off once more, but Ansem did not seem he wanted to give the man any room to relax.
Hopping back, the Heartless pulled his staff as far to the left as he could and then with a light grunt, he hurled the weapon at the man sending it spinning like a horizontal blade of death towards the man's upper chest. As the blade went towards the man, something strange happened as Ansem remained in his battle position watching his prey.
In Sephiroth's shadow something stirred and moved with the man as he did whatever he was going to do about the incoming attack. Regardless of if the man dodged or counter, wherever he paused in his movement a large powerful beast would rise out of the shadows directly behind him and with a low growl, the shadow would launch a heavy punch at the man's backside aiming to knock him down as Ansem began to walk towards slowly towards wherever the man was, his eyes aglow with a predator's bloodlust. ___________________________________________________

Sephiroth gazed into his opponents eyes as his blade had clashed with the Heartless's own weapon. The Angel was enjoying this fight so far. His opponent kept managing to dodge his swift strikes. However, this Heartless appeared to have little sword play experience. Yet, that wasn't to be something to think about right now. Sephiroth needed to finish this silly fight.
Most importantly, he needed to win no matter what the cost. He needed to sever the tie between himself and this creature. If the Demi-God had to he would incinerate this world to ashes, before losing to this creature. Sadly, the moment he had hopped back his opponent threw his weapon right for him. Hastily, Sephiroth brought up his sword in a defensive stance in order to guard the attack.
However, moments later he was knocked straight to the ground by Ansems Guardian. Sephiroth simply ignored whatever pain he had felt, and got back up to his feet with sword in hand. "Dirty Tricks." Sephiroth grinned. If the Heartless didn't want to play fair, he could do the same. Once more, he flew high into the sky where there is no shadows.
"Descend... Heartless Angel." He said while his hand began to glow a dark pinkish purple. Sephiroth was beginning to cast Heartless Angel. If it successfully is finished his opponent will be critically weakened. However, a single attack that makes contact with Sephiroth, will stop the ability. Yet, it would be hard to land a hit with Sephiroth high in the air.

The battle continued to rage on as Heartless and destroyer exchanged blows. While Ansem could indeed hold his own against the man, he knew, as he blocked another set of blows and met those strange green eyes, that in the end the man would be the stronger of the pair should the fight go on like this. It was something that Ansem had known from the very first moment this battle had begun. While he had never had the pleasure of meeting the elusive angel of death face-to-face until recently, the Darkness and the Heartless knew him well enough and had in turn whispered about his powers and skills to him. He knew of the man's skills and realized, as he tested the waters, that the only way to win was to use his true power, but the Heartless played the part of the armed warrior for a while longer testing how Sephiroth worked before changing his strategy. Letting his weapon sail through the air and towards the man, he heard the distinctive clang as his weapon was blocked by the swordsman once more just as expected. The weapon fell away from the man and hit the snow with a heavy snthunk before vanishing in a burst of darkness; however, the battle was far from over. Summoning his Guardian, the Heartless had managed to strike the man from behind and knock him into the snow; however, the man was quick to recover from the blow and was soon back on his feet sword at the ready as the Guardian vanished from the air behind the man now that its mission had been accomplished. Filling himself with Darkness, Ansem floated slightly off the ground as the Guardian appeared behind himself growling and trembling with rage and power as it watched Sephiroth with its cold eyes. The Guardian, while a Heartless, was a special breed in the fact that it was the only Heartless that was truly part of Ansem. He had absolute control of it. Their bond was so strong that it allowed the Heartless to command the creature without saying much and in turn allowed the creature to react to his own emotions and conditions. It was shadow of his and his power over the Darkness itself that made all Heartless bow to him. They could not harm or consume a Heart as strong or as black as his, so they submitted like good little children as they recognized him as the leader of the pack. At a whim he could summon any Heartless he wanted to aid in this battle; however, the master of Heartless did no such thing as he folded his arms across his chest and listened to the words the silver head man had to say. To them, Ansem only smirked as his golden eyes shined with both joy and malice as he read the man's strong determination to do anything to win this battle. That fact alone should've been spine chilling knowledge considering the mass amount of power the man had, but Ansem was not afraid as he watched the man carefully. In the end, he could work with a ruined world as well as healthy one if need be. As long as there was some form of darkness, the Heartless could thrive. He could care less what happened to the people as long as he had what he wanted from this battle: a world to control and battle and Heart information on the great and powerful Sephiroth. So it was no surprise that instead of flinching or doing something to fix the situation, the words the Heartless let slip from his lips more than likely added fuel to the fire. "I do my best," he said with a light chuckle and then becoming serious, he watched as the man took to the sky once more and held out his hand to his side as he began to charge a strange pink and purple energy into his hands as he spoke about something called a Heartless Angel. Not sure what that meant, but very certain it was not one of his creatures, the Heartless watched Sephiroth from his grounded position as he drifted back to get the best view of him as possible. Behind him the Gurdian charged energy into its own large fists and then, when Ansem had found the perfect position and leaned back slightly, the Guardian began to swing its arms out in four forward swipes aimed upward and towards Sephiroth. Performed this strange act, four disc of energy were released and flew towards the angel, their hum and light whistling a sign of trouble to come should the attack Shock Slash actually hit its target. ____________________________________________________ Cooldowns[/u] Shock Slash: The Guardian will charge up before swing outward four times releasing a series of four energy discs towards a target. The disk turn to come back like a boomerang, making them sometimes hard to dodge. Alone they do light damage, but all together they can do heavy damage. 1 post

Before he could finish the attack, the Guardian had launched four shockwaves towards the Angel. Upon seeing this, Sephiroth stopped casting the spell and began to avoid each attack. With the first one, he simply sliced it in half. As the second shockwave got closer, the Chosen one made an aerial dive causing it to collide with the third and fourth shockwave.
Is this a part of the Heartless true power? The Heartless needed something to help him in battle? How weak is that? Of course he is a Heartless after all. The Heartless can't keep blocking his attacks forever. Sephiroth was going to do something entertaining for himself. Perhaps he should use the Black Materia? Yes of course. In a matter of seconds a powerful compacted black sphere appeared hovering in his hand, along with a dismal black aura surrounding him.
"I will lead you to the Promised Land." He said while the orb continued to charge. Depending on how long he holds the charge decides whether or not what happens. The longer he charges the sphere he will have a meteor large enough to incinerate this entire area or more. The less he charges a mere ten small meteors will come hailing down with ferocious power.
Sephiroth simply peered down upon Ansem, while continuing to charge the black sphere. It was almost ready to unleash an unstoppable Meteor to incinerate this entire area into ash and death. The Heartless couldn't block all of his attacks. Whether this attacks or not, Sephiroth will unleash an onslaught of attacks. Its ready. He said in his thoughts.
With a grin, he released the black orb causing a Meteor roughly a little bigger than the area to fall from the sky. With Sephiroth high up in the air, he was safe from his own attack. Regardless, if the Heartless manages to avoid this attack or not. This area was going to be turned to death and despair.

While Ansem had been doing quite well beforehand at barely blocking the silver headed man's blows and he had even gotten lucky with his hit to the man earlier from the clever use of the Guardian, it would appear that the tables were slowly turning against the floating Heartless as he unleashed the Shock Slash upon the man. As soon as he let the attack go, he felt the ping of what he truly was began to pull against one another. The part of him that was Xehanort was excited for the data and amused at the fight while the part of him that was the Heartless was eager to be rid of the threat. The pair of emotions lined up nicely for either way, he would be pleased with what he collected on the man; however, underneath that pleasure, the part of him that was Terra recognized Sephiroth's potential to do some serious damage to the vessel of Xehanort and so sought to interfere; however, the Heartless was able to override the pesky would-be-hero and was able to refocus on the battle relatively quickly. As he watched the attacks get near the man nothing showed of the small battle that happened within, he saw the counters of the skilled man as he moved his sword to slice the first attack in half and then dove downward quickly to cause the last three to collide with one another and with a loud sound, they exploded upon one another. Well, that was the first time anyone had been able to effectively stop the move with skills and speed alone. It was impressive to be sure, but the Heartless did not linger on the thought for long as he sensed the man's arrogance and slight annoyance with himself. It was true this whole battle, Ansem had remained more less in good health, but unscratched he was not. Even though he had blocked the blows of the man and had been able to avoid some others, there were still signs of the damage that had been caused to the Heartless. There were tears in his cloak from near misses and even some cuts along his exposed chest underneath and under his left eye. Sure, he had his staff and some left over speed from his time as a front line fighter on his side, but if the Heartless had continued to play games, he would've eventually become seriously injured, so he had stooped to playing dirty to survive and unleashed some of his true power. Sephiroth saw it, but like most of his kind he did not appreciate the Darkness the Heartless wielded. Already, Ansem could sense the man looking down upon his power and seeing it as weak; however, this fact did not ruffle any of the Heartless feathers as he looked up at the man and saw him summon a strange black sphere that radiated with Darkness and immense power. Narrowing his eyes, the Heartless heard the man's words as he saw the sphere continue to be charged. Then before Ansem could even formulate a true plan on how to avoid or stop whatever this was, the man was grinning as he releasing that orb...and with it the a large chunk of flaming rock! Meteor?! That was the thought that struck, Ansem as he recognized the powerful spell his golden eyes widening slightly in shock. He had seen this attack used once before by the more earth attuned keybladers and he knew that it hurt...alot. Not wanting to be hit by such power, Ansem was on the edge of using a skill to avoid it, but it was at that exact moment that something very odd happened. Perhaps it was the sight of meteor and the threat it posed to the Heartless that caused what happened to happen. Or maybe it was something else. Whatever the case was, just as the Heartless was about to teleport out of the way. He lost control of himself as the darkness and the one who resisted it so began to clash once again. The struggle inward struggle caused his Guardian to groan in agitation and flicker for a moment. Inwardly, the keyblader Terra, whose Heart was just as much a part of his as Xehanort's was, decided to seep into that small window where Ansem had dropped his defense in order to survive. As animal instinct took over the Heartless, the keyblader's will was stronger at that one instant and in turn, the good side was able to rebel strongly against the darkness within. As a result, Ansem who had been fighting with full concentration beforehand, lost the malice and joy he had felt within as his eyes and face became blank for a second and his body unresponsive to the command to run. With no trace of any emotions left in him, the Heartless's blank eyes took in meteor coming down and in response, he began to drift away from the impact zone; however, the retreat was not enough to save the Heartless from the blast wave of heat and rock that flowed through the area once meteor had landed. His command to his Guardian to come as he continued to retreat was not heard over the roar of the destruction. Nor would the creature moving before his master be seen in the flames and heat that consumed all as Ansem activated his Guardian Shield. The Guardian took the brunt of the blow, but it still did not stop the Heartless from feeling the pain that ran through the Guardian and himself as the flames and heat ripped into them and the land. When the destruction and flames had come to an end, only smoke and black earth could be seen below making it seem that the silver head man won, but as the smoke and dust began to settle, the green eyed man would be able to pick out a form on the ground on all fours, shaking not from cold, but from the pain that flooded its burnt and smoking body that now wore the damaged clothing of the man that was unveiled when the cloak burnt off. Slowly, the darkness was stitching the clothing back together, but that did not change the damage done upon the downed Heartless. Growling and hovering slightly over its master, the Guardian watched the man with what appeared to be concern for him before growling lowly and turning a vicious grin of teeth towards the man above them. While the guardian did nothing, but show pure agitation and anger towards the man, there was something very wrong with the situation as the Heartless continued to stay in his downed position. ____________________________________________________________ In wait mode...but why? Cooldown:[/u] Shock Slash: Ready to use. Guardian Shield: “Come Guardian!” are the words to listen out for here. At this command, the Guardian moves in front of Ansem taking all attacks coming at him from the front. It blocks out all magic and physical damage coming at him from that direction; however, this leaves his back and sides open. 2 posts.

As the Meteor had trampled over the area. Everything was sooned turned into ashes. Black was now the new color of this area. The snow had all melted away into small puddles of water. The area now wreaked of death and is very dismal. Small little fires were scattered all around this used to be mountaintop. Cautiously, Sephiroth had landed roughly forty feet away from the downed Ansem.
From the looks of it the Heartless had used that thing on its back to protect him from some of the damage. With this in mind, he wasn't going to sheathe his weapon. After all Sephiroth did not trust this man who wanted to use dirty trick and use 'help' in their fight. Sure he wasn't one to talk seeing how he just dropped a Meteor on top of the mans head. Yet, Sephiroth had to show that he was the stronger one.
A point needed to be made. Sephiroth would gladly fight a fair fight, but if you want to use dirty tricks and summon creatures to aid you. He could do some cheap things as well. "Know your place." Sephiroth said with spite. The Angel hated how the Heartless thought it was better than everything else. Not to mention how it had insulted him earlier. In the end Sephiroth doesn't want the risk of such a large liability on his team.
Sephiroth had to admit, Ansem is very powerful. If Ansem would one day become stronger than himself, he might get tossed away like trash. That was something the Demi-God did not want. Steadily, the Angel brought his blade up in a defensive stance. He knew something was going to happen, but what?

The Guardian watched as the silver head man landed on the ground a good distance away from its master. It took in that arrogant look the man gave his master that still remained down on the ground recovering for the earlier attack. As it took in that look and sensed the man's feelings towards its master, the creature's already hideous frown deepened as it made a strange sound at the man as it shook with anger and malice. It wanted to attack and shred the man to bits and it probably would've if his master simply became one with it and let the animal instincts take over. The pair were quite the team when they were one and tapped into the infinite darkness within, but over multiple defeats the power they once wielded had been weakened, leaving the pair at basic level once more. It would take time, but eventually they wold reclaim their powers and in turn show the world what a true Heartless was. They would devour them all and make the world submit to the Darkness once more. The paradise would be theirs until Xehanort's plan was fully realized and judgement was brought upon the worlds. It would be beautiful when that time came, but to get there, first some rats needed to be weeded out. The warriors of Light had to be taught a lesson and men like this silver head fiend had to understand that who was the true master of this new world. Such a pity. He could've been on the winning side, but in the end this one too is as blinded as the Light is, Ansem thought as he remained kneeling on the ground, slowly bringing control back to himself as he pushed away the cursed keyblader that had caused him to slip up in the first place. He made a mental note to figure a way around this rather annoying hiccup later on, but for now, he had a very cocky demi-god to contend with. Powerful Sephiroth was, but his arrogance had just gotten him in trouble. Sure, Ansem understood that Sephiroth had unleashed his spell to play as "dirty" as he was playing. Yes, he understood it was also a display of power and maybe under different circumstances he would've been pleased with display even if it was used against him. He would've easily ended the game there and accept the man as an equal on the field. However, the man made one fatal mistake. "Know your place." Three simple words. So simple. So fatal. As the Heartless heard the words, he slowly began to pick himself up keeping his head bowed as he swayed a bit to balance himself once more upon his feet. "Know my place?" the Heartless asked in soft voice that filled the blackened and burning area with a chill that even the heat of the previous attack could not bat away. As he spoke, he closed his eyes and began to float again, spreading his arms out to his side as Darkness began to sway all around him in large waves and seep into the ground. In response to the increase in Darkness, his Guardian smirked as the ground turned even blacker than before swallowing up the death and destruction with its inky color. Dark energy was being pulled into the Heartless and had Sephiroth known what was to come, perhaps he would've attacked instead of waited. But the man did not do any of this as he instead took a defensive stance with his sword raised as the power continued to build in the Heartless and the area become sicker as it was stained with the very essences that made up the beast that was Ansem. When this power reached its peak, a few seconds later, the Heartless radiating with visible waves of Darkness opened his brightly glowing eyes as he gave Sephiroth a grin so beastly and insane that it was a wonder he hadn't shifted into the beast such a smile came from. "Why don't you show me where my place is!" the Heartless commanded the man as he gnashed the words with malice. As he spoke, the Guardian tilted back and shook with a silent laugh before it seemingly ripped itself from the man's back and dove into the ground. As soon as the Gurdian had dove into the ground, it would come up once more right under Sephiroth's feet in attempt to hit him with it's awesome force. If it was successful, it would knock him into the air before diving back into the ground to and repeating the action. Eight times the Gurdian would do this in an attempt to land some blows upon the angel in quick session. When it was done, the Guardian vanished as its master allowed himself to drop from the small height he was floating at. Slamming himself into the ground in a kneeling position, Ansem's gloved hands touched the ground as the Darkness he had gathered shot off him and out towards Sephiroth in a dark shock wave. Whether all his hits struck or not, the Heartless, hurt as he was, would resume floating around the area as his Guardian reappeared at his back once more. He would watch to see how the angel fared against the rapid attack. _____________________________________________________________________ Cooldown:Guardian Shield: 1 post Dark Shadow: This move is a dangerous one to be caught in and the only sign you are given is that Ansem will be still and close his eyes as he holds his hands out to his sides. In this small time window, Ansem can be hit and distracted, but the window is very small and one has to be fast to distract him in time. It’s a tough challenge, but not impossible. If one does not distract him, he will begin to float in the air and become surrounded by a strange aura that protects him from harm. As he floats, the Guardian, which protects his back, will detach itself from Ansem and dive into the ground before attempting to burst out of the ground right under a target’s feet. The Guardian’s movements are fast and hard to block, but it can be done. If struck the creature does moderate damage to whoever it hits and can knock them into the air thanks to the force and speed. It dives and shoots upward eight times before it stops its relentless attack, but it is not over. Ansem, who has been charging with power up until now will drop to the ground unleashing a huge shock wave that spreads out over 15 feet to inflict even more damage upon someone or something already hurting and also to enemies too near. The shock wave will also knock over people if they are light enough. Like the Guardian the wave does moderate damage, but combined with the other attacks, it becomes painful to deal with. This attack is designed to cause some serious damage, so recovering from it is not easy. Cooldown: 4 posts.

Before the Angel could respond at all, that thing on the Heartless back detached itself and dove into the ground. Sephiroth didn't know what was going to happen next, but he had to act fast. Yet, it was too late. The Demi- God was knocked up into the air and consecutively hit eight times. As that abusive attack had ended Sephiroth managed to stay afloat into the air, watching Ansem create a shockwave and send it right towards him.
Easily, the Heartless managed to cut right through it. However, one could notice the Angel took some damage from the eight attacks. His breathing patterns were slightly elevated, and slowly went back to normal. Sephiroth could tell that his back was hit a few times. Not to mention his chest and upper left shoulder took a hit. Even though he could still feel the sting, it was nothing that Ansem had to be feeling.
This Heartless seemed to enjoy relying on that creature to help him. "Gladly." He said with an emotionless face. With blinding fast speed, Sephiroth flew towards Ansem. As the Angel got close enough, he activated his signature ability known as Octaslash. His Masamune soon took on a dark purplish aura, as he made 8 powerful, vital, and consecutive slashes.
Each of the eight slashes were very fast, which would prove difficult to dodge most of the attacks from this ability.

Ansem's managed to float around letting the pain his burnt body felt channel into his power and make the anger and hate towards the man that much stronger. As his negativity flowed off of him, it meshed with the darkness he had created in the area, tainting the ground even more and making it become like a thick poison that destroyed what little life that was left in the burnt area. Sephiroth was right when he said Darkness destroyed things. It did destroy things when it was turned into malice like it was now; however, there were many secrets to the Darkness that the man before the Heartless would now not learn. Ansem was a wealth of knowledge that might've been able to aid the demi-god had the man not turned his blade upon him. But alas, the man had done just that and on top of this, he had dropped a rather hefty spell upon the Heartless that only increased his rage towards the silver haired man. The rage and pain only shifted Ansem into an animalistic state of mind as he focused on surviving and claiming this turf as his. He could not let this man win. With only the faintest trace of human thoughts in his mind, he watched as the man took the eight blows. As Ansem watched he could feel pleasure flow through as each hefty blow whacked the man and somewhat juggled him the air; however, it would seem the man's cutting abilities were a bit out of this world for he was able to cut through the shockwave that finished up the attack. ....Interesting. Ansem had never had anyone slice through his shockwave before. He began to wonder what if that blade could only cut through waves and energy outside of flesh. It would be interesting to test this out, but he needed the rest of his power to perform that sort of work. In any case, the action was interesting to note as he watched the man land on the ground and recover from the blows. Floating slightly to the left, Ansem kept his eyes on the man trying to read his thoughts through his Heart. He could sense agitation there, but did not care to linger on the cause of the other's agitation as his golden eyes met those green ones that burned with cold fury despite the blank stare the man gave him. As he heard, the man's words, the Heartless gritted his teeth slightly and prepared to move; however, as the man pushed off the ground, Ansem found that all to soon he was before him once more! Golden eyes widened slightly in shock as the first slash whacked him in the chest and he floated back in pain. Ansem tried to recover from the blow; however, before he could do so, a second strike quickly follow behind the first, striking his leg and as he floated back even more as a third and a fourth strike made contact with him from different angles in quick session and bit into his skin. The blows were painful, made even more painful thanks to the fact that he was already injured; however, despite the pain Ansem was able to concentrate enough to activate Teleport. As he activated the ability, he became a blur as he moved from the spot quickly causing the final slash to go through the after image of himself rather than his true form. Still hurting, the Heartess would appear above the silver head man without his Guardin and with spear in hand as he pointed the bladed end downward before letting himself and the weapon drop down upon the man. The weapon came down point fist with the intention of impaling the man with its sharpness and added weight.... ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ [Cooldown:]Dark Shadow: Cooldown: 3 posts Teleport:This can be used to dodge or quickly move to another place on the field. Ansem becomes a blurred image that if someone attempts to strike him, the attacker would find him or herself slicing the smoky image left behind and air. There is no sign or sound as to where Ansem will appear next, he’ll simply be there, making him hard to trace if you cannot sense the Darkness. To make this move even more confusing, he sometimes use Heartless Summon around the same time, giving him the illusion that he has broken into a group of Heartless or shift into a larger one. The tactic is used to disorient, knock someone off guard, or even scare those easily frightened, but this also make some wonder what Ansem really is. 2 posts.

Sephiroth was quite pleased with how most of his attacks from Octaslash had hit. The Angel believed what he could do with a sword was a type of art. Only certain people such as himself could do magnificent things with a powerful blade. When the Heartless had teleported to avoid the eight hit, he wasn't that surprised.
The Chosen One knew that this Heartless was powerful, so he would have found a way to at least dodge one of the attacks. In moments he heard the Heartless coming down on him from above. With this Sephiroth activated his ability COUNTER. It allows him to see through his opponents attack and counter it with double the power.
Right as this ability activated, Sephiroth spun his blade so that it would be on the flat side pointed up. With that he had quickly placed his free hand has far as it could reach as extra support for the oncoming attack. Once the two weapons clashed almost a loud clanging sound was made, along with a vibration of Sephiroths Masamune.
Due to the oncoming force, Sephiroth was somewhat forced into the ground to the point once he moves imprints of his boots would be noticeable in the ground. Shortly after the clash, Sephiroth managed to break away and finish his COUNTER ability by making a swift attack with double the power that was sent at him just moments ago.

(Alright, love time to wrap this one up for the time being. ^^)
Pleasure. That is what the Heartless sensed from the silver headed man’s Heart as his vicious eight strike attack landed upon his aching body. While most blows had landed, the Heartless had managed teleport away from the final blow. Reappearing above his opponent, he had tried to impale the other with his spear, but as expected from such a powerful warrior, the man had a counter plan to the simple attack.
With inhuman speed, the man spun his large sword about and brought the elegant blade up to rest horizontally above him as he used his free hand to brace the blade against the oncoming attack. With a loud clang, the spear and sword met, sending a shock wave and pain through Ansem’s body as his weapon shook from the sudden stop and impact as light sparks flew from the two weapons. As he pressed downward on the blade, the Heartless felt the silver head man sink into the ground a bit from the force of the attack.
For a few fleeting seconds, the Heartless hung in the air slowly making his way downward as the man’s arms began to bend as he took on the weight of the Heartless and his weapon; however, just as quickly as the bend began, time sped up as Sephiroth used his strength to push Ansem away with a mighty sweep of his blade.
Being thrown back by the force, Ansem sailed a small distance across the ruined area before hitting the ground with his black boots and stumbling back a bit to regain his balance from the shove.
As soon as he recovered, the Heartless looked up in time to see Sephiroth come forward with a swift attack. Raising his staff once more to block the blow, Ansem felt the heavy impact of the blade against his own weapon. Felt the staff break under the great force the blow contained. As the staff snapped and vanished into the darkness, the rest of the strike managed to hit home and sent the Heartless flying across the area. He kept going across the area until he hit what remained of a cliff side which effectively stopped him as he crashed into the surface, cracking and denting it from the force.
Such delicious power! the Heartless thought as he remained embedded in the rock for a few seconds seeming paralyzed from the pain that was coursing through him as those golden eyes focused on the man who stood some distance from him. The silver head man was calm, composed, and perfectly beautiful as he stood there with the wind blowing and tugging at his white hair and black clothing; however, Ansem was not interested in the physical form of this man.
Oh no. That was never his interest with anything this powerful. He wanted that Heart the man held within. The one that was strong enough to resist his tricks and remain strong in its resolve within the darkness. That Heart would be a perfect item to add to his collection to study and pull apart since it was much too powerful for eating; however, to get what he sought, he had to eliminate the physical body and take the Heart when it was exposed.
Yes. Yes. Not only would he have something fascinating to keep his curiosity sissified for hours, but with that Heart, he could find ways to develop even stronger Heartless that could aid him in his conquest of the world! He would have quite the weapon if he only got that Heart to submit.
With his mind set on his target, Ansem pulled himself from the rock stumbling forward as darkness flowed off of him in great waves. The Heartless was slumped forward, but easily looked up at the man as a mad grin spread across his face revealing sharper teeth as his appearance began to shimmer slightly as if he was a mirage.
The Heartless was no longer functioning on logical levels, the pain and desire to have the Heart within that man driving wasd way driving the Heartless way over the edge, causing the usually composed being to truly sink into the monster he was. It had been so long since he had simply letting himself be what he was, but if it meant winning then there was no level the Heartless wouldn’t stoop to to have his way.
As his darkness continued to grow, Ansem prepared to unleash himself upon the man and end this once and for all; however, before he could make a move, fate decided that it had other plans for the pair as Ansem took a step forward before halting and tilting his head. He could hear something.
Coming from somewhere further down the ruined path, the sounds of angry shouts could be heard followed shortly by the sounds of running feet. It would appear that their little battle had drawn the attention of the civilians of the place.
Not good. Their weak Hearts would ruin the moment of joy when he finally had the Sephiroth’s Heart as his own and quite frankly Ansem did not want that to happen. No, if he was going to devour that Heart, he wanted to do it the right way without the interference of the weak. Hmph. He would have to wait to get this man alone once more hopefully in a more suiting spot to finish this battle.
For now the man was lucky that the Heartless was no mood to wipe out civilians to continue the fight. No the Heartless would retreat for now. Disappointing, but a necessity in this particular case.
Sighing lightly, the Heartless straightened from his animalistic hunch as the darkness around him settled before vanishing completely leaving the calm and human form of Ansem before the man. Despite pain and fatigue, the Heartless managed to stand tall and proud as he folded his arms and gave Sephiroth a disappointed and annoyed frown.
“Tch. I had hoped to play a bit longer, but it would appear that this fun will have to be saved for another time,” he said as the darkness began to spread under his feet before drifting upward and wrapping around him lovingly.
“Until next we meet,” he told the warrior with a smirk that suggested they would indeed meet again somewhere down the road and that next time, the man would not be so lucky. Next time, Ansem would be stronger and there would be no escaping for the silver headed man. The Darkness would indeed claim this Heart.
With the pleasing thought in his head, the Heartless let the darkness take him from that world for the time being. He would return in time to take over this place, but that plan was far into the future for now. ______________________________________________________________________________
Ansem has exited the thread.
