The last match had ended abruptly. Little Naminé had made a valiant effort in her match and Genesis was certainly very impressed with how hard she tried. She used a lot of his own techniques against him, both in magical terms as well as in manipulating and using the SOLDIER's own body mass to her advantage. Unfortunately however, the small blonde-haired girl had succumbed to too much damage, too many injuries in her fight and had eventually lost consciousness. The strange summoned creature she sent his way had transformed itself into some sort of mythical beast, a monster with a single body yet several heads. Though as the summoned creature's master had fallen, the beast too ceased to exist. Cheers had erupted across the Arena at both the fantastic fight between the Crimson SOLDIER and the innocent challenger as well as when both fighters were applauded for their efforts. Though the victory was not as sweet as it usually felt for the auburn-haired man. Something felt... different about fighting Naminé compared to fighting against some of the other warriors.
Walking across the arena, listening to the cheers and chants of the audience, Genesis Rhapsodos knelt down beside the unconscious Naminé and looked her over with a frown spread across his face. Fortunately it was masked from his crouched stance as well as due to the shadows covering his face. Was I too tough on her...? He asked himself in his thoughts as he looked over the condition of the wounds on his Nobody friend. Genesis half detested what he had done, but this was a tournament were people would end up being hurt. If not Naminé then someone else. Besides, it wasn't totally one sided. The cunning young woman had played very tactfully. If she were to continue doing such things in her future rounds, the young Nobody was going to do very well. Lowering his arms down to the ground, the Crimson Commander scooped up little Naminé within his arms and carried her out of the arena once their match had officially ended.
Making his way over to the healing fountains, the auburn-haired man was approached by a beautiful young woman with long brown hair and a figure hugging purple dress. Thinking about treating his opponent for her injuries, the woman in the purple dress, calling herself Megara, ushered the Crimson SOLDIER to leave Naminé in her care while he himself treated his own wounds. A sound idea and believing Naminé might be upset with him right about now, the SOLDIER First Class handed the girl in the white dress over and proceeded to check his own body for wounds and injuries, using the waters of the healing fountain to fix himself up.
Soon after, Genesis was seen standing in the waiting lobby, his arms out-stretched before him and gripped within his hands was his iconic leather trench coat. The crimson coloured material was burnt black in several places and new holes and tears had appeared across the back section. A dissatisfied sigh escaped the SOLDIER's lips as a frown sunk across his forehead. These tournaments were seriously causing the auburn-haired man to get through his supply of identical coats pretty quickly. Still, he figured he stick to wearing this same tattered one for the rest of this fight, as it was bound to receive more damage from his next opponent. Speaking of which, Phil had come sprinting up to him, digging his heels into the dirt floor to skid himself to a stop. As the small dust cloud wafted away and Phil caught his breath, Genesis turned about to view the little satyr, his arms dropping down and causing his long coat to half rest upon the lobby floor.
"Okay... *Huff* *Huff* ... You've probably already figured out you're in the next round... -Phew-... But as you know kid, the difficultly is only ramping up. Well... maybe not for you, seeing as you started off fighting that Sephiroth man and then had that Zack Fair kid a couple rounds later." Phil spoke, patting himself down and cleaning the dust off him as he did so. Genesis raised his arms up over his head and whirled his coat about his body, slinging it onto his back before sliding his arms through the sleeves. "I wasn't expecting an easy match from any of my opponents." The SOLDIER First Class answered with a small smile on his lips. "Well, your certainly cut out to handle whatever I can throw at you. You're the current champion, remember?! But listen, the next one you're up against is a kid called Sora." "Sora? Really...? This is going to be interesting..." Genesis replied, his tone sounding surprised as well as intrigued. After nodding his head to the little satyr and turning about afterwards, Genesis walked through the waiting lobby and made his way to his starter gate.
Hearing the cheering fans on the other side calling for both his and Sora's name in equally loud chants, Genesis had to wonder what he was getting himself into this round. Sephiroth had spoke of this Sora and mentioned he was a possible threat. A threat to what though? The Crimson SOLDIER had witnessed this 'Key to Everything' fight before, but it was when they were standing on the same team so it was difficult to judge what it may well have been that Sephiroth had potentially come to fear from this brunette haired boy. Slowly, the creaking of wood reached Genesis' ears along with the rattling of heavy chains pulling tight as they strained under the weight of the door before him. The light of the arena lit up Genesis' small waiting area and once it reached up to his face, one would see the determined and concentrated look spread across his features. Once the gate was open enough for him to step through, the Quoter of LOVELESS's attire creaking as it tightened and shifted about his body as it moved, carrying him out into the middle of the arena.
Picking up his right arm and flexing his fingers as he always did when entering first, Genesis summoned his long crimson Rapier to his hand with a stream of flame that manifested itself before him. Pulling the weapon free of the fire and swinging it horizontally before him to extinguish the flames, Genesis' determined expression didn't falter a fraction. Blocking out all the sounds of the cheering and screaming fans, the auburn-haired man turned about and glanced over his shoulder as he eyed each of the doors his next opponent could possibly come out of. Here, he waited and watched, his bright blue eyes looking for the first sign of his Keyblade wielding opponent. Maybe now I'll figure out what Sephiroth sees you as a threat...

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] Seperate Sifting through the wreckage, I can't concentrate
This boy's quarter-final match was nothing like Sora had expected. He had fought Artemis, a past keyblader wielder he had met way back in the past. He had fought by her side in the Cerberus Cup, but only until that match had he seen some of her true skill. He still admired how she had been somehow able to keep up her movement and attack speed to deflect his keyblade, even though she had switched to a slower and more defensive form. But that had not been enough of a defense to withstand the creative onslaught he brought on against her and her wolf summons, but still Sora admired her as a great fighter, and with her having withstood Kingdom Hearts with that might he was glad to have someone like her on his side.
He had to respect how at the start of the fight she had tried to taunt him into attacking her, and if it wasn't for how she had made it obvious unlike how Riku used to get under his skin, he would have completely fallen for it. He almost wondered if it was just a co-incidence, or Artemis had spoken to his friends about how... well, because he had so much heart that he wasn't always thinking with his head. Does everyone really think I can't even tie my own shoelaces together? he wondered to himself. But he shook his head, as if shaking off those thoughts. He had gotten this far with thinking and with following his heart, and as long as he had a conscience and his friends, he would keep on going and let nothing stand in his way.
That last match had been an amusingly strange, but challenging one. Sora had finally gotten to see what Artemis was like as a keywielder, but he had hoped she could bring to him the challenge of what she had been like fighting at Kingdom Hearts the next time they fought. He understood why she didn't give her all in the last battle, though, and it probably was the same reason he had held back fighting against Naminé. Every time he fought Kairi's Nobody, he not only felt bad hurting Naminé but also saw how she looked like Kairi at times, and most likely Artemis just didn't want to hurt him because he was a friend. And neither did her shadow wolf, which is why it tackled and licked him, even though Artemis put on a tough act like Cloud her actions spoke that she was a good person deep down.
At least Sora had been able to deliver Naminé's message, finally. The spiky-haired young man was on the sidelines off the arena, between matches and already having used the 'healing waters', as his next competitor was coming on the other side of the arena from the lobby. At least that was according to Hercules, who was with Sora and watching over the tournament fights, who was currently standing next to Sora with his arms folded and waiting for his next challenger too. Hey Sora, want to know who you're up against next? He's been a reigning champion since you've been gone." Sora looked up at Herc, shaking his head. "Nah, that's okay. I want it to be a surprise. That way I won't know who it is until they show up, and that'll be even more of a challenge! I can't wait to see who it is!" he admitted excitedly, getting pumped.
The crowd was warming up doing chants, and it wasn't until he heard they were calling his name that he realized they were calling someone else's. However, they were so loud and wide in ambiance, it was only because he knew his own name that he could make it out one side of the calling the audience was making. He couldn't make out exactly what the other name was over the shouting of his own name. The colosseum was very bright and sunny for this match, with clearer skies than his previous matches, the once overcast covered completely with blue skies and sweeping thick cloud above the colosseum walls. It was not until the doors on the other side of the arena creaked and rattled opened and Sora stepped forward into the dusty, drab arena to meet his opponent, did he see who it was.
"...Genesis?"
The Key That Connected to Everyone wasn't sure what to make of this mysterious man. He had first met him when Sephiroth had come to deliver a message to him, and at the time his association with Cloud's enemy and the near-identical pauldroned uniform with the one angel wing registered in the young man's mind as Sephiroth's friend and ally. However... the next time Sora had sought to save the Mysterious Tower from sinking into darkness, Genesis had actually helped him by fighting alongside him, which surprised him. But next thing he knew when the world had fallen to darkness, and Sora lost contact with him when bringing back new allies to take back Yen Sid's tower, Genesis had shown up this time appearing to be against them.
What did this guy fight for, anyway?
He watched observantly as the man in the Crimson Coat entered the arena... said crimson coat clearly damaged. He must have had a difficult opponent in the last fight, the way his coat was badly burned black and there were holes and tears in places he could see. Slowly his large black and yellow shoes trailed across the arena to meet him in the center, watching as he materialized his signature raiper weapon, emblazing with a fierce glow within his hands. In a similar manner, Sora held out his hand, but this time instead of the Kingdom Key flashing into his hand game the brilliant glow and stark white contrast of the Oathkeeper keyblade. The handle held in his right hand and sharp teeth facing upwards, he brought his left hand to grab the rest of the hilt and lowered the blade down before him to his right as he bent his knees into his trademark defensive stance.
This might be the only chance he ever got to actually talk to the Crimson Champion, and so Sora's bright azure eyes moved up to lock with his steely green ones, the expression on his face spreading into a thin smile. "Hey, Genesis. I just wanted to thank you." he paused, letting those words of gratitude sink in, before he continued. "Even though Sephiroth is your friend, and I'm friends with Cloud, you fought alongside us. Even if we didn't stop the tower from sinking into the darkness... you still fought to stop it from being destroyed. I'm going to enjoy fighting you, may the best man win. Although, I gotta ask..." he stopped, not letting his guard down, just thinking of what he was going to ask next. "Just, who's side are you on, anyway? I get if Sephiroth's your friend and you fight for the bad guys, but sometimes it's like you have a conscience and you fight for the good guys too. What Sephiroth is doing to Cloud is bad... but it's not just about Cloud or me either, can't you just fight with us to help save the worlds?" he finally finished with his respects and his question, wondering if he'd ever be able to understand this 'G's relationship to Sephiroth. And if, like he did again Riku all those years ago, he ever stood bravely against his friend for what was right.

The almighty roar the audience gave for Sora was just deserved. Genesis had already taken note that this young man's name was at the top of all but two of the tournament rosters pinned to the walls outside in the main lobby. This brunette haired kid must have been a cut above the rest if he were the greatest warriors to walk through the doors of the Coliseum and set foot into the Arena. Phil spoke a lot of this Hercules guy, but rumour had it that Sora had defeated even him. Actually, it was more then rumour. Herc's name had been crossed out upon one of the tournament rosters out in the lobby. Sora had defeated Phil's number one hero. Did this mean that Sora now took Herc's place or something? More then likely not, for Sora had many more worlds to worry about over staying here at the Coliseum and honing his skills in combat. This was most certainly going to be a very interesting fight for several different reasons, and the mere thought caused an excited chill to run down the Crimson SOLDIER's spine.
Watching with anticipation, the many hundreds of fans gave another loud cheer of excitement when Sora summoned his Keyblade to hand, though it was a different design to the one Genesis had laid eyes on at the Mysterious Tower. Was he capable of changing the weapons appearance? Did the different looking weapons cause different effects in battle? Did some give his weapons an elemental effect like fire of lightning or did they buff his strength or movement speed? If this was true then who knew what was going to happen in the following few minutes? Glowing blue eyes infused with Mako energy watched as the Keybarer crouched down a fraction as he got into his battle stance, holding his weapon in a more defensive style, as far as Genesis could tell. The Crimson SOLDIER himself just stood still, his arms down by his side with his slender crimson Rapier gripped securely within his right hand, the lengthy blade pointing before him angled towards the ground - Genesis standing in a relaxed stance.
The brunette Keybarer spoke before the battle commenced and the young boy's thanks was met with a small smile and simple nod of the head as acknowledgement of the boy's appreciation. Then came a question, one that the boy was certainly keen to get an answer to. After all, Sora was a highly important character in the role of the worlds. His influence, his battles and struggles were what caused the worlds to change to the Light, to restore peace, to rally allies and boost morale. People depended on him. His friends, his family, even those who didn't fully know him. It was thanks to this young man that some of Sephiroth's plans had been thwarted before they came to fruition. "I don't think Sephiroth would consider me, much less anyone, a friend these days." Genesis answered with a small chuckle escaping his lips, his eyes closing for a second as he turned his head away from the Key to Everything and looked across the Arena towards some of the fans in the audience.
A moment passed and the auburn-haired man turned his head back in Sora's direction, a small smile playing on his lips. "If I fight for you and help you restore the worlds, then eventually I will be forced to draw my sword against Sephiroth. If I fight for Sephiroth and turn the worlds to Darkness, then eventually I will be forced to draw my sword against Angeal, or King Mickey, or even you. Light and Darkness... people see them as good and evil, heroes and 'bad guys'. Sephiroth is my friend, much the same as Strife is yours. How different is it that I simply choose to fight for my friends? Sephiroth might be corrupt and have evil within his heart, but he is still my friend. Would you give up completely on one of your friends if they turned to the Darkness? Would you not try to help them see the Light? Or would you instead brand them evil, call them a monster or a 'bad guy' and simply cut them down when next you met?" Genesis slowly brought his right arm up horizontally, the long, slender weapon being pointed in the Keybarer's direction. Sunlight glinted off the razor edge as Genesis' breathing caused his arm to flex ever to slightly.
"I fight for my friends, Sora. I pick no side for I do not wish to call someone I care for, my enemy." Genesis left it at that and simply remained standing still with his right arm up, Rapier aimed in Sora's direction. Here he stood and waited for a couple of minutes in case his brown-haired opponent had something else he wished to ask, or even if he wanted to answer the SOLDIER First Class back. The gathered crowds and audience had come to see a fight, not to watch two men talk to one another. Sure enough, at such a thought, Genesis smirked and lowered his right arm just a fraction as he looked carefully over towards his shorter opponent, giving him a small 'heh' of a chuckle before speaking up. "Come find me after the tournament ends, Sora. We'll speak more in depth then. For now, let us fight." With that said, Genesis suddenly flexed his knees and took off in a sprint straight for the spiky brunette before him. Leather boots thudded across the solid stone arena floor as his legs quickly carried him straight up before the Key to Everything.
Once in range, the crimson Rapier within Genesis' hand was brought up over his head, the SOLDIER First Class also raising his left arm to grip onto the weapons hilt. Releasing a loud "Urrrrha!!", Genesis swung the slender weapon down forcefully, his swing fast and his power great. The blade would surely cause serious damage if left unguarded. Within an instant the weapon was already brought down to Genesis' right and swung back out in a clean horizontal slash, the weapon striking out for the left side of Sora's torso at chest height. With a smirk already spread across his lips, Genesis had to wonder just what he was getting himself into. Would be stand no chance against this boy, or was he simply all talk? Highly unlikely it was the latter, what with Sephiroth of all people being concerned about this boy.
Not waiting to give Sora a chance to get away from his two-strike combo, Genesis decided to test something out. Taking a step backwards, the auburn-haired man flexed his knees and took a jump into the air. Flipped himself over in half a somersault, twisting 180 degrees at the same time, the Crimson SOLDIER leaped over Sora to take his flank, eyes watching everything to see how coordinated this Keybarer was. However, during his 'flight' over Sora, Genesis clenched his left hand into a tight fist and cast a spell. At the time of Genesis' fist becoming tight, four spectral Rapiers were summoned around Sora parallel to the ground at chest height. The summoned Magic Swords
[/b] were the same length as the real Rapier within Genesis' grip. Suddenly, all four of the summoned weapons bolted forth in an attempt to stab into and skewer The Key to Everything from four direction. Ducking or jumping would work best here, but with Genesis overhead, going up wasn't an option... possibly. After all, Genesis had no idea what this boy was capable of and this spell could merely be child's play. [/blockquote] ---------------------------------------- DamageNo damage. Actions1. Genesis performed a two hit combo: A vertical rapier slash aimed at Sora's head followed by a right to left horizontal aimed at Sora's torso at chest height. 2. Jumping over Sora in a somersault, Genesis cast Magic Sword[/b] on a hopefully distracted Sora. 3. Not used. Cool DownsMagic Sword[/b] - 3 Posts. Lifting his left arm up and clenching his fingers into a tight fist, Genesis can summon four spectral Rapiers, all glowing a bright red as if they were Imbued. Each Rapier will fly through the air with swift speed towards the target opponent, attempting to strike or even impale them. Having mastered a couple new ways to cast this spell, Genesis can either go the classic style of having the four spectral swords appear around the target which then try and stab into the enemy, or have them all appear behind Genesis himself which then shoot out directly towards the target. The spectral Rapiers travel with fast speed and will cause Medium damage to anyone struck with one. All four blades will vanish into nothingness several seconds after being summoned.
