This was NOT getting any better.
Alonzo was caught between a rock and a hard place, and it was only getting worse and worse. He assumed the blades would lack the ability to teleport as his own did, being held by disembodied spirits, and yet he was quickly proven wrong. The blades returned to their master’s hands, and again, they clashed, and Alonzo, savage, savage Alonzo, was stuck in-between their assault. Spires of earth and a blast of ice magic were launched by the phantasmal energies, and while Alonzo was swift, he was not swift enough to flee. The pain struck him from both sides, and roughly the beast was launched to the side, sprawled on his chest, fingers weakly gripping his own Key.
They… these spirits… they were strong. Stronger than any man Alonzo has faced before in his life. This strength was closer to the more fantastic beasts he faced; the Lion, the Leopard, the Wolf… and all of the beasts that sulked in their domain. They were beyond men, and while these key’s spirits had the faces of men, they were so mighty… was… was this the fate of those with the Key? To gain such strength, and the cost of their souls? Were they all doomed to become beasts?
Well. Alonzo supposed that he shouldn’t mind. He was already a beast, in the end…
The beast growled, and he arose from his spot sprawled on the ground, and chomped his powerful jaws on the handle of his Keyblade. Taking to his hands on feet, the savage arched his back and roared to the orange horizon that hung over this desert planet. He was… becoming angry. He was so, so angry at this hideous circumstance he found himself in, and more than anything, he wanted to just end this affair, to not be involved in affairs the ultimately did not concern him. He had not caused the strife that destroyed this surely once simple land. It was the fault of cruel men with wicked designs, much like the ones who ultimately made Alonzo the hideous creature he was now. Why should be bother helping those who could not even help themselves, those who abandoned him and made him an outcast in his own form, a prisoner of his own mind?
Yet, the obligation to the people who still yet lived…
He observed these illusions to the past. The Xehanort man, he was the reason Alonzo still fought on. His wicked machinations… while the savage knew not the extent of his plots, the beast felt that they still hung around the universe, even now, and had still caused so much unceasing pain. Alonzo would never live to see the day he was free from his loathsome body, he knew that. But men like Xehanort corrupted bodies and souls, and if the savage saved innocents from that very fate, then he could die with a clear conscience.
For now, though, he would allow his anger to fester. He felt something… coming on, and soon… soon…
The fight in the grave escalated. Ventus was now possessed by Vanitas, and he pointed his blade edge to the Aqua girl, and her… rather mouse-like companion she just recently obtained. Odd, yet Alonzo had seen odder. He supposed. Regardless. That was of no concern to him. What did concern him was that another foe seemed to be added to the fold... in an attempt to weaken him, Alonzo quickly launched a bolt of flame, the Magister's Fire, to harm the Skydiver blade, and hopefully any other ghastly weapons near it.
And then, just like that, the battle begun again. And now, they were caught in the crossfire. This time, Alonzo had the foresight to dodge, and stared up at the massive storm brewing ahead. That... did not bode well. None of this boded well. They needed a plan, and fast, and Alonzo was lacking in one. He turned his head to Night, and called out to him.
"Night! Idea! Have? Have not? Think!" Action 1: Used Magister's Fire on Venitas possessed blade. (Sorry for bleh post. Next turn will be muuuuuch better, I hope.)

✖ DREAMS TURN INTO NIGHTMARES. OUR MEETING WAS A SPOILER BECAUSE HOWEVER YOU LOOK AT IT, THE ENDING WAS CLEAR. THE ILLUSION DIES AS TIME DRAGS ON. TAGS Mission PeepsNOTES I AM AT A LOST OF IDEAS ON HOW TO FIGHT BACK AT MOMENT! XD The young blader huffed and puff just staring at the key keyblades in front of him after having clashed blades with the two. "Did they recognize me?" he couldn't help but question due to the fact that the keyblades had actually teamed up to defend against him. Though they just went back to fighting each other again, sigh what a pain. It didn't help that things seemed much worse now that Angeal was out of commission. Seriously? And the soldier thought that he needed training? More like the other way around. Though there was one thing that got him. Why would the keyblades team up to defend against him if they were to just fight again? His thoughts were quickly interrupted though as a flash of light took hold and again another scene took place, and as before Night just stood back and watched. When Vanitas was unmasked blue eyes made sure to study it, since now he had a face to go by rather than just some masked guy. Not that it really mattered in the end he supposed but one could never know. He listened in about whatever these 'unversed' were and their stupid plan to get Ventus stronger just for that primus forsaken blade. This whole scene just pissed him off. Once they were done he watched the scene with the woman known as Aqus and Ven? Wait but Ven was fighting Vanitas this was wrong. Though he now had the body of Vanitas. How odd, but again he was a statue as he watched before action finally took place again, Night reading his wing-blades as he back himself up trying to deflect the keyblades that were accidentally aimed at him, most were block able but not all as one manage to slash at his chest with a good blow. Finally he backed up until he had met up with Alonzo once more hearing him. "I-I don't know!" he exclaimed in a bit of panic unsure of what to do. "I think all we can do now is just let all this play out, I think... I think these blades are trying to tell us the story of what happened here, and of what we might need to prevent our selfs someday," he concluded, after all why would the blades defend against him just to go back to fighting. There was one thing of their getting caught in the cross fire, another to be targeted at. Though of course this was only an idea he was not sure of anything, and what of that odd storm that seemed to appear? Things were getting bad, all he could hope that this story was almost done. With the blasts of magic from both sides crippling Alonzo, and the keyblades slashing into Night across the chest, the swordfight of keys continued to clash and rage ferociously across the crossroads before them in their invisible war. Once the damage had been done the to the keybarers here in the present, the final scenes played out for them, starting with Ven's fate inside his Dive to the Heart.
Ven slashed down Vanitas in a final blow with a left horizontal slash of his keyblade, Vanitas flailing backwards as he lost the grip on the x-blade. He gasped and flailed as the x-blade floated out of his reach, but try as he might he had lost all his strength, and eventually dropped backwards. In a radiating light from the middle of the keyblade, shining out in all directions like the rays of the sun, the incomplete x blade shattered into a thousand pieces. Ven watched, with a content smile, as his own keyblade illuminated and also shattered into pieces in the same manner. Amongst the raining shards of keyblades, Vanitas fell into the pitch darkness below, his body illuminated and bcoming light until like Master Xehanort's body, he dissolved into skyward orbs of light. The last of this light touched the black surface below, clearing away the darkness as it pushed a gentle shockwave of white feathers outwards, once again reforming Ventus' stain-glass platform that Ven landed upon.
Unbound had shattered, but a black and white silhouette that was not clearly made out visibly darted out from where Vanitas' body had purified and made whole the platform, vanishing into the swirling and cloudy darkness.
And then, with a satisfied smile and closing his eyes, Ven tilted his head upwards, as he too shone brightly and exploded into orbs of light. The largest of these, his heart, floated upwards amongst the orbs out of the Dive to the Heart into places unknown.
Meanwhile, outside of the body where the internal battle had taken place within, Venitas smirked as he held back the x-blade as Mickey and Aqua came for him. With one final stroke of the mighty blade of Kingdom Hearts before him, and he whipped up a fierce wind that swept Mickey and Aqua off their feet. Mickey kept rolling uncontrollably, but Aqua was lucky or not so lucky depending how it was interpreted, as her back was slammed into a rock wall she slid down to the bottom of. She panted breathlessly, clearly having the wind knocked out of her, as Venitas stepped confidently towards her in victory.
"What's wrong, giving up already?" he tormented in his combined Ventus/Vanitas voice.
Aqua, still catching her breath, pulled from amongst her armor a small star; it looked like the paopu fruit from Destiny Islands, but was woven together in blue material. "Terra, Ven, lend me strength." she pleaded. Closing her eyes and her head bowed, she opened them and gasped when a small pulsing light flashed from the Wayfinder. Her keyblade glowed vibrantly with a pulsating blue light, and from a wide-eyed open expression to one of fierce steely determination, she pushed herself off her feet and yelled out a battle cry as she ran up the steep incline towards Venitas.
"You're just wasting your energy." Venitas declared, holding the x-blade above his head, ready to deliever the final blow.
The two keyblades met with a clash of metal and light, and then a transparent shockwave burst forth out from around them in the aftermath. Aqua screamed one last courageous battle cry, twisting her foot to push further inwards, just as Alonzo fired his Magister's Fire at the Divewing representing the x-blade. Suddenly, the mighty blade shattered, resembling the incomplete x-blade the dark apprentice had been wielding in Ventus' station within his heart.
"What!? Venitas cried, but was thrown back from Aqua's unrelenting strength as the x-blade was thrown upwards and flipping out of his grasp, as he landed on the ground with a grunt and then knocked out cold. The x-blade then went berserk, the same flash from within the core of the blade shining out as seen in the previous vision within Ven's heart, but instead of shattering to pieces a great storm of twisting light lasers came spiraling out of control from it. The lasers carved wicked wavy lines of destruction through the earth, outlines of keyhole shapes floating in the air left behind in it's wake to demonstrate it's tremendous power. Aqua shielded her arms in front of her as light lasers continued to pour out of the floating keyblade at frightening speed.
Meanwhile, Mickey recovered from where he had come to rest and finally noticed what had happened. "Oh no, it... it's gone all haywire!" he exclaimed, rushing forward towards the chaos heroically.
Aqua, unable to move out of the danger of the lasers moving dangerously around her and the forceful gale flooding out with the light from the blade, realized the comatose Venitas was still her possessed friend in certain danger, especially when Vanitas' body armor faded away in a wash of darkness to reveal Ven's normal armor underneath. "Ven!" she called out worryingly, realizing the Vanitas possessing him was gone. The lasers seared dangerously close to the both of them, stopping Aqua's progress from getting any closer to him.
Instantaneously in that moment as Mickey rejoined Aqua, there was a final flash of intense light, and then the x-blade exploded into dark shattered pieces. However, light that had still been at it's core continued to tear out from it at a alarming rate from a intensely inflating ball of light, along with a mighty wind that swept up Ven from underneath it, pushing him up and away. Aqua and Mickey were held in place from the ever-expanding light and pressurized air flooding out, but Aqua took a risky chance and sprinted after Ven, jumping up after him as his unconscious body was thrown like a rag doll into the sky. Aqua struggled, lunged out, grasped and missed attempting to grab Ven's hand. She kept reaching, but it was only after a last thrust of her hand outward did she manage to clutch safely onto his hand.
And it was all she and His Majesty could have done, as the core of the x-blade finally exploded in a hemispherical explosion of light, Mickey and Aqua's screams heard as the lift of the shockwave carried them up and away from the world into the far reaches of the Sea of Stars.
Terra's armor stood over Terranort as the final blow in their battle had finally been struck. The suit of armor swung it's keyblade downwards, digging it's tip into the earth, holding the hilt as it sunk with anguish to it's knees. The very earth shook with catastrophic might, as the explosion of light from the x-blade expanded and grew to be seen, even from their height on top of the towering rock spire Master Xehanort had created. It encompassed even their platform in it's slowly creeping destruction, sweeping up both the comatose Terra-Xehanort and his discarded suit of armor.
Heavenly voices resounded as high above, the giant heart of light known as Kingdom Hearts receded from where Master Xehanort had summoned it, as only Terra's suit of armor remained on the abandoned, desolate world attached to the keyblade which anchored it there.
Until finally, the clouds encircling Kingdom Hearts clouded over it, perhaps returning it from the deepest darkness from whence it came. A spotlight of purest light shone down on the now unmoving statue of metal, until the world became dark and entombed once more, the words of Terra resounding like a echo upon Night's and Alonzo's ears. Said with the utmost regret and dedication.
"Aqua, Ven... one day, I will make this right."
And then, having grown in intensity and sound as it had drawn ever more closer, the dust tornado swept over the shimmering mirage and the possessed keyblades. And the illusions, and ghosts, were no more.
A giant twister of sand and earth spun menacingly before Alonzo and Night, bringing reality back to the story they had beared witness to, so close and so loud they could both feel like they were in a savage sandstorm. Then all at once, the cyclone dispersed, and where the kneeling armor of Terra had been in the final image they had seen... was Terra's armor that had remained.
Was the illusion still playing, was it not over, was there more to see? No... because was the sandstorm hurricane had dissolved before their eyes, sand filtered and made grating noises over the metallic armor, as if sand pouring through a metal strainer to solidify the fact in their minds this armor was real. To verify this fact, pieces of shattered keyblade were also caught up in the storm, and rained down and around them as they fell atop off and bounced with a metallic clang off the weathered lifeless knight. But as assaulted by the elements as it was, natural or man-made by the pieces of broken keyblades, the man of armored steel did not so even much as flinch or even move in reaction.
And so before Alonzo and Night, the Keyblade Chaser armor that now was the last bastion of free will to Terra's mind, known as the Lingering Will kneeled before them. The sand tornado must have been it's means of transportation to arrive here undetected, and as it began to speak to them they would realize what was really the cause of the haunted keyblades, fighting in a series of replayed memories from the past. The suit of armor spoke in Terra's voice, but like how Vanitas/Ven and Terra/Master Xehanort had merged voices, Terra's voice was accomapnied with the background sound of metallic reverberating sounds of vibrating and ringing steel. And these sounds were not heard from their ears... they were heard from inside their minds.
"Aqua... Ven?" it spoke, still head down in it's kneeling position, as if the poor mind that had become trapped in the suit of armor could not properly see nor sense them. This would explain why the keyblades had protected Night from the others... but it didn't make complete sense... the memories had shown Terra had been pre-occupied with Master Xehanort the entire fight before becoming entombed here amongst the buried sands of dust and time. So how could it re-enact or know what else had happened from it's memories of being a complete Terra? Maybe it wasn't protecting Night and Alonzo... maybe it had already decided they could not save his doomed fate, forever encased and unable to leave this world without the rest of himself... something was definately amiss.
"Keyblade..." it spoke again, as if it could see Night's and Alonzo's, becoming more aware as if slowly awakening from a long sleep or recovering a long forgotten memory. "Who... who are you?" it asked them both questionably, and it paused for a time, until it spoke again as if determining.
"You are not the one I have chosen... you are not the one I have met before who has defeated me. We have not met before... but you... you have met him. I can feel it." the Lingering Will spoke, as if reading Night's mind somehow, it's tone rising with tension as it sensed the dark master. "I have been here... stuck on this world... I have lost track of time. And, my friends... I don't know if they are still out there, alive... but I have been waiting so long... so long... to make things right for them. To destroy him... in their honor... to re-claim back what was taken from me... Xe... ha... nort." it fumed the last word, anger rising further in it's tone at the very mention of the spelled name. "Tell me... keybladers who have seen my story... Xeha... nort... did you... work with him? Are you the one here... who is... Xehanort!?"
Slowly, it began to come back to life and animate as it stood up to full height, just as it had done over a decade ago confronting Master Xehanort who had stolen his body and abandoned him here. Clutching the Ends of the Earth keyblade by the handle, he pulled it out slowly, a metallic scraping sound ringing out as if the very earth was it's sheath. Gradually, it turned the keyblade over in it's hand, making a ready stance against the two intruding keybladers.
A dark, chilling-to-the-bone breeze ran through the warm badlands from out of nowhere, the floating keyblades belonging to the former characters of the Keyblade War rising up behind the Lingering Sentiment from psychic power, blades poised forward as they hovered in mid-air as if about to launch straight at Alonzo and Night. But something else was strange... the keyblades that arose were only that of the heroic keybarers of Light... the uncolored Kingdom Key, Kingdom Key D, Way to Dawn, and the Starseeker. Where were the keyblades that represented the villains, these keyblades that they had protected Night and Alonzo from before? Something did not add up...
What would happen next would determine how closely they paid attention to what they had seen, how they answered the question from the mind of Terra that had sensed Xehanort, and if they could piece together why they had been shown them memories of scenes Terra himself had not bared witness to.
Would it come to a fight breaking out with the Lingering Will, or was something else going on here that they were missing?

✖ DREAMS TURN INTO NIGHTMARES. OUR MEETING WAS A SPOILER BECAUSE HOWEVER YOU LOOK AT IT, THE ENDING WAS CLEAR. THE ILLUSION DIES AS TIME DRAGS ON. TAGS Mission PeepsNOTES FFF I feel dumb, I can't piece together the clues like at all! xD Also I recall no protection! lol The young keyblader did nothing as he helplessly watched as everything played out, to Ventus winning over Vanitas to destroy the x-blade, but in the end also seeming to destroy his heart. Aqua and Mickey being victorious again the fused keyblader just to end up drifting in space. And Terra seeming to be just left in his place uttering what Night assumed to be his last words. Though the keyblader didn't have much time to morn for them as the tornado seemed to grow in power, the boy shielding his eyes with his arms as it happen until suddenly it had stopped. Leaving the armor of Terra behind. "That.... wasn't there before," Night couldn't help but comment as he just stared at the armor. Why was it there? Be the looks of things it was not another illusion, no this thing was obviously solid, especially with the way several keyblades fell on top of the armor making the loud clang that make his ears twitch. "Okay maybe I was wrong about allowing the stuff to play out," he muttered more to himself than Alonzo who seemed unresponsive. "Aqua... Ven?" He heard the words echo in his mind of all things which made Night tence. It had been awhile since he had heard voices in his head, and that was due to Dawn and Dusk but now here this thing was now, speaking to them with... damn it what was that word? Whatever it was some sort of mind magic or something, had to be. "Could it have been this thing that showed us the visions we saw? Or is this another part of it?" he whispered to Alonzo still looking worried, though if this was the case how did it show them everything? "Keyblade... Who... who are you?" "I-I...I am Night, an-and this is Alonzo," the boy stuttered a bit almost getting the feeling as if they were being judged, "We are keybladers just like you," he tried to explain though flinched and stepped back in fear at the sudden outburst the armored one had. Night gulped in nervousness as he seemed to focus on him about having met him which Night had a good feeling he meant Xeahnort. Already a guilty look on his face from the questions though one also very confusing. 'Are you the one here... who is... Xehanort!?' What did he mean of course they weren't him but then again Xehanort had already managed to take Terra's body even though that version of him he met so maybe there was more than one? Or something happened to Terra's body that made Xeahnort old again? All this was so confusing, nothing made sense. A chil ran down his spine as the wind past and the armor of Terra stood up right with his keyblade in hand, and behind him several other keyblades standing as well. Though only the keyblades used by Terra's friends, why were only they moving? What happened to the others? "Look please we do not wish to fight you, though it is true I have met Xeahnort and had planned to train under him I have no desire of that now. Especially, now that I have witness his true character through your memories. If anything we are allies in wanting to put a stop to him." he answered hoping to get on the armored figure's good side. With dead keyblades poised behind him, floating in mid-air, what was left of Terra that remained as the Lingering Will prepared for battle. At no notice, the keyblades suddenly launched forward towards Night and Alonzo in a volley all at once, and just when it seemed like they were about to hit them there was a loud clanging sound of metal striking metal. The rusted End of Pain had reappeared and struck down from behind them to critically hit Alonzo, but the colorless Divewing and Unbound struck against the drained Way to Dawn, Starseeker and Kingdom Key D keyblades. The howling, cold wind now formed into black streaks of darkness as they took space in the air behind the keyblades representing the villains, swirling together to form a large orb, and from within that orb a black and white form emerged from it like a cocoon as the darkness dispersed around it. The same black and white form that had left Vanitas in the vision when he had faded away into light...
The black and white figure unfurled itself, in a fetal position, stretching his limbs out and puffing out his chest as he came into being. He floated down and lowered himself to the ground, feet placed on solid cracked and dried earth and sand, looking up first at Night and Alonzo and then at the Lingering Will beyond. It all made sense now, even if they did not understand, why the Lingering Will sensed someone it thought was Xehanort. Lingering Will had been fighting against the presence of this being as it's memories played out, but because his eyes and body were gone, it could not sense this other remnant of will until it came into being. It had thought the group had been the cause if the other floating keyblades and replayed memories, which is why The Lingering Will did not seem to mind if the keyblades representing the heroes got in the way until near the end of the battle, when it had sensed the dark wind of another dark and discarded silhouette of it's former self. Not only had Lingering Will protected Night just now upon sensing the dark energy from around the keyblades and the boy's appearence, but it was the sole reason why Night and Alonzo had been seeing memories played out that Terra himself had not witnessed... because this sentiment of a person that just appeared had been present in all of them that Terra had not.
Upon his face, was a strange symbol, that only a select few would recognize as the symbol of the Unversed, or to be more precise his mask. Completely black and white, these were the only differences, as otherwise this character looked exactly like the masked boy in the memories. The Vanitas Remnant quickly assumed a battle pose, and withdrew it's black and white Void Gear keyblade in a flash of darkness, unlike the Lingering Will not giving Night and Alonzo the option to battle it. It zipped forward with frightening speed at them to strike them down, but then there was a blinding flash of light, and as it faded the Lingering Will had moved to block the Vanitas Remnant's keyblade strike. Both living suits of armor pushed against one another, not giving each other in inch, feet pushed punishingly into the sand beneath them as sharp metal grinded and sparked between them.
"Xeha...nort!" The Lingering Will fumed into Night's and Alonzo's mind, sounding strained.
It didn't sound quite sure if Terra identified Vanitas' Remnant as a Xehanort for some strange reason, or if it was just cursing the name of the dark keyblader mastermind as he fought against the shade of his dark apprentice. As there currently was no Vanitas as his complete self stalking the worlds, the Vanitas Remnant was present in the Keyblade Graveyard once more, conjured from the dead as if it's mind was attached to the place of his demise for reasons unknown. Perhaps, as a place to respawn a powerful will that refused to diffuse. Even now as it bore down on the Lingering Will, it did not speak or use mind-speak telepathy like Lingering Will did, only made it's blank lifeless stare from beyond it's masked helmet. Was it like Terra, Vanitas' will trapped within his suit of armor upon his initial defeat left behind, or was it more sinister in it's creation? That may well be forever unanswered, but whatever it was, it was a serious threat, and it was taking the strength of a willing Lingering Will to hold it's terrifying power back with it's own.
"Master... Xeha...nort... tricked you!" Lingering Will answered Night, who had been the only one courageous enough to speak rationally to it. "Like... Ven... please... if he... exists... and Aqua... tell them... I make... this right. Makes this right... make right... If... you are... my ally." it repeated the last part it found meaningful a few times over, as if struggling with the thought and the feelings attached to it now it's heart was gone, as if driven itself mad and insane all these years alone. It struggled, now sounding a little bit emotional as if he would never see them again, trapped forever unable to leave both his armor and this wasteland of haunted warfare. "Now...those who are... witness... to my memories... go, now! Unless... you want... to end... up like... me... all... I have... to... offer you... is my contempt... for Xe..ha..nort. " It concluded, and pushed Vanitas' Remnant back, rising from it's poweful slash and stance as it readied itself for battle, knowing all it could do was fight for eternity as there was no salvation coming for him after all these years entombed within this barren, lifeless world.
Vanitas' Remnant jumped backwards and thrust it's keyblade forward, a pyramid of three lasers rotating around the tip as it fired off a huge azure laser beam towards them. At the same time, the Lingering Will transformed his keyblade into a massive canon, firing off a giant ball of destructive energy into the beam. As they connected, there was a large explosion and another brilliant, blinding and earth-shaking flash of light.
And then, just as soon as the Lingering Sentiments had appeared, after the light faded and the dust settled they were gone. Perhaps to another part of the badlands to do battle, but they were nowhere nearby to be sensed.
All that was left behind was the shifting sands of the Keyblade Graveyard, including the possessed keyblades which had lifelessly dropped to the ground, of the Keyblade Graveyard crossroads as it returned to normal. Night and his friends had survived and found out the truth why the keyblades had been sighted on this world as fighting one another, because of the Lingering Wills left behind from the Keyblade War of the past they had relived through their echoed and scarred memories. It would be best now for Night and Alonzo to pick up the unconscious Angeal and retreat for now, should the powerful and blindly destructive wills return to do battle, and warn everyone else that visited the Keyblade Graveyard the truth behind the tale should they not take caution to the dark winds blowing through this world.
For only the truly powerful of warriors could hope to defeat them, and perhaps one day, lay their tormented minds to rest once and for all. But for today, they and the secret of what happened here in the past would remained buried in the sands of time, with both hope and a forewarning of dark omens to come lying out there somewhere in the sea of stars.
