The Tournament had returned to the wonderful world of Olympus Coliseum. Warriors from across the stars would be heading to this world in order to do battle against a wide variety of powerful and cunning men and women. Mages, berserkers, knights, thieves, assassins, Keybarers, Gunblade wielders, Remnants, SOLDIER... the list was endless and it seemed to grow greater with each passing tournament. It was going to be a very exciting few weeks as the matches progressed from one to the next, warriors slowly being eliminated until the final two were left to brawl it out to victory. Only this time, things were a little bit different. Instead of having one on one fights, it appeared the tournament organizer had gained a spark of imagination. Indeed, the matches would be held in three on three bouts with the victorious team decided on many people on a team won their match. If two of group A won and one on group B, then group A would advance, all three members. It was certainly very interesting.
But it wasn't the setup of the matches that intrigued the Remnant Leader. No, it was the joy of relishing in battle with no worry of anyone threatening your life. Not that anyone actually DID pose much of a threat to the silver-haired youth, it never did hurt to grow stronger by entering such an event. A question arose in the silver-haired youth's mind at such a thought. What WERE his limits? Did he have a ceiling in sight? A wall he could not scale? If he continuing to gain strength from his battles across the stars, would his body eventually become unable to cope with it all? This new thought caused a concerned expression to spread across the slender features of the silver-haired youth as he begun to daydream of what could possibly happen to him if his body happened to become unable to contain his strength. He just stood there in the lobby of the Coliseum, ignoring everything and anything that was happening around him. Several other warriors walked past him, some he would have know, others he'd never have seen before, but all of them went ignored as his previous thoughts continued to race through his head.
Eventually he moved, only his arm though which was bent at the elbow as he brought up his left hand towards his face. Opening his palm, stretching his fingers, Kadaj peered at the leather material covering his hand for a second before clenching his hand into a tight fist. "I am not worried about my body... I shall continue to gain strength and I will crush everyone who gets in my way of doing so!" Muttered the Remnant to himself through clenched teeth, his eyes narrowing dangerously as they started to glow brightly for but a second. Leather clothing creaked as the slender figure of the silver-haired youth turned about, his glowing eyes turning their attention to his surroundings. Seeing as this was a 'Triple Team' tournament, it was only natural that the Remnant Leader would pick his dearest brothers to be his team mates. Loz and Yazoo were around here somewhere, he could feel them. Perhaps they were psyching themselves up for their own matches? Speaking of which, had the matches been displayed yet? Was that why everyone was walking past him, to go see who they would be up against?
Heading in the direction the others were heading, Kadaj discovered his theory was correct. Slipping through the mass of warriors and fighters, barging some of them out the way, Kadaj forced his way to the front of the queue to discover something most interesting. His turquoise eyes lit up instantly the moment he read the name of his first opponent. A quick glace to see who his brothers were up against resulted in a very smug smirk spreading from ear to ear across the youth's face. "Unlucky, brothers. Seems I am taking the best part this time." Turning away from the list of matches, Kadaj barged his way out of the group and instantly made his way towards the Coliseum. Heading for the gate of the arena he was to do battle in, he could feel his hands starting to shake from the excitement and adrenaline. The last time he had encountered this particular opponent, the coward ran away to 'help his friends' or some rubbish. That wasn't going to be happening this time though. There was no escape from the Tournament unless you wished to forfeit your match.
Sand crunched underfoot as Kadaj quickly walked out into the arena. The stands weren't full to the brim, but a fairly healthy gathering of fans had come to watch this match. Whether any of them remembered the Remnant Leader from his previous fights on this world, Kadaj didn't know nor care. Odds are they had come to see his opponent fight, and what an opponent it was! Hopping up the stairs to reach the raised fighting area, Kadaj paced into the center of the arena where he stood with a wide stance, arms folded across his chest and head raised so he were looking down his nose towards the gate his opponent would be emerging from. With a teeth-baring smirk spread across his face, it was as clear as an open book to see the excitement plastered across his face. "So then, Keybarer! It seems we're to meet in the very first match. I was hoping to save you for a later match, but with that said, it'll be much more fun to fight you while you're fresh!" His voice carried his excitement as much as his expression did. Unfolding his left arm from across his chest, Kadaj did something he very rarely did. He extended his arm and offered his hand for Sora to shake, a very dangerous smirk replacing the excited one from before. "Lets have some fun!"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] There and back, yet my soul ain't sell, kept respect up, the best they fell Let the rest be the tale they tell, that I was there saying. What was the best course of action for his friends, for the worlds and for the people living in them, for peace? Not that there were doubts, concerns or fears, but rather finding if the challenges and struggles in the future could be reduced or even negated in order to spare hearts from floating up into the sky or the spread of destruction and fear aborted, in as swift and decisive an action as possible. There had been nothing to go on in the past, only uncertainty before it was replaced with experience and knowledge. To go and to become a protector of peace, a guardian appointed by the worlds, the chosen of a key that had restored so many worlds and connected him to the lives of many. Would the battling go on forever, would the bloodshed never be washed from his hands in that understanding of an endless struggle between good and evil? Or was it not too naive to believe there a way to end it once and for all, that there was something worth all the continued conflicts and suffering, a glimmer of hope like that shining light in the darkness believed to never ever go out? Sora still believed that, but sometimes the fights among the stars made him weary, and these thoughts of putting pause on them began to bubble to the surface of his mind. Had he forgotten what he was fighting for, what he had set out on his journey on? No. He was to continue looking for those he had come into contact with in his dream within a dream that had become the trap of the New Organization... but the thoughts and feelings he encountered were not fabrications nor tricks of theirs. No, they were real people with real feelings, real hopes like his, real dreams of one day smiling with those they cared about once more. And he was to find them, not just to stop Xehanort and all his incarnations and colleges, but so the people if he could find a way to bring them back could once more lead by the example Sora had felt so tremendously inspired and shaped by. But his adventures had not been easy. It felt like a lifetime ago he had saved Aqua from the Realm of Darkness. What of Ven? What of Terra? Of the girl with the black hair? That was the reason he was here at this tournament, today. He didn't feel like he was goofing off and just entering the tournaments just for the fun of it. They were still the reason, and he had had a lot of fun at the last one even though he found it a lot harder considering the tournaments he had dominated in the past. But the tournament was bound to draw a lot of people to it, people who might have seen who he was looking for or hopefully, the people themselves. Tournaments drew the strong, people who he could make friends with, maybe even friends he had already met, or even an enemy he had the displeasure of making introductions with. But the one thing they had in common, they all had connections, connections made by their hearts which could not be so easily turned away or severed, someone was hopefully bound to see who he was searching for. Phil was not around to greet him this time... in fact, the satyr was no where in sight. He was probably busy with the other teams... maybe even coaching a new competitor or 'junior hero' as he liked to call them, under his wing. Hercules wasn't to be seen, not even a Hades lurking in the shadows. All busy? Maybe Herc and Hades were off battling in the Underworld somewhere. It made him think about the other people he had meet in his travels, which he had signed up with into the tournament in a strong alliance to fight their ways to the finals... although they were not Donald and Goofy, which he missed. Also busy elsewhere, maybe at Yen Sid's Tower or Disney Castle like when he had been in the Sleeping Worlds. The first bloke to join up his team was a very friendly guy - maybe even serious competition for Sora as one of the friendliest guys in the universe. Snow Villiers was a giant of a man that towered over Sora's lanky teenage body, and had a heart that was probably even bigger. Sora had met him for the first time at Disney Castle, where he was traveling with his fianceé Serah and her moogle called Mog. Introductions were made, and the two learned about as intergalactic heroes keeping the world order with what had been happening amongst those very worlds. The Heartless, the Nobodies, Xehanort and his Organization... Sora answered everything they asked questions about. And what they could all do to team up as a group to prevent the reforging of the X-Blade, and the summoning of Kingdom Hearts to stop it's power from being abused, and plunging the worlds into absolute darkness for a third time. Sora had been able to stop it twice before, thanks to his entouragé of Donald and Goofy, his friends Riku and Kairi, and of course the grace of His Majesty, King Mickey. But with more powerful villains and new creatures like the Unversed and Dream Eaters popping up amongst the worlds, Sora recognized and accepted everyone's experiences and volition in their hearts to want to do what they can to fight as well. Sora could respect that, and that's why he respected and trusted Snow to want to help. While Sora had went to resolve other matters and continue his journey, Snow was given the suggestion to go do what he can with Serah and Mog to find Ventus, and any leads on where and how the X-Blade could be forged again. New information had come to light since then, regrettably when Sora followed his heart and fell for the New Organization's trap, and only then had the newcomer Lea been able to save his heart from being possessed by Master Xehanort. Seven lights and thirteen darknesses would be brought together by destiny in the near future for a possibly catastrophic Keyblade War, but in the meantime, Snow was here and Sora was happy to have him join forces in his party on his quest to find Ventus, Terra and the black-haired girl. The third and final member of the party was, in great relief at the news of her safety, Naminé. Kairi's Nobody, and also because his heart was used to create the birth of the Nobody from the Princess of Heart, a Nobody that had also come from him as well. Because of this special circumstance, Naminé had complete control over Sora's memories and being able to conceal, replace or restore memories from his heart. Sora was not entirely sure what Naminé was doing, as she had yet to attend any gathering of his friends he had been in as of late. But, she had saved Kairi from her imprisonment from the Castle That Never Was, and he had yet to thank her for that. There was something else... something strange that he couldn't quite remember at the back of his mind about her, but as long as he trusted Naminé it wasn't considered important to remember. Sora was just glad to see her and have another friend on his party, and maybe be able to spend some time forging their friendship in time together. He still had to tell her he had yet to meet the person she had asked him to look for, too. With her as the last addition in the team, her mysterious powers, Snow's indomitable strength and Sora's uncontested balance of powers, he was confident they were a unstoppable force to be reckoned with and hoped after making separate ways from them as they all entered their individual battles they would do their best and have fun. The 'Key to Everything', which was a title or nickname of his that had come from Yen Sid's description of calling him 'The Key That Connects to Everyone', made his way into the arena from where he had been summoned. He hadn't been told who he was going to fight next by Phil, and his side of the competitors/combatants division was oddly quiet. Regardless, it didn't feel that way when he stepped out of the shadows of the lobby and into the sunny day splashed out over the arena, hundreds of local spectators cheering him on from his previous champion and full hero reputation. A smile of white teeth was flashed to the crowd, the daylight washing over his real-world clothing, consisting mostly of black during his days when he had stopped the remaining old Organization and defeated Xemnas. Feeling free of the Recusant's Sigil and inspired in humility by the crowd, he raised both hands and waved cheerfully to everyone, his keyblade not yet summoned. He looked into the center of the rectangular arena they were now in, seeing the other figure emerge from the quadrant of battler's facilities on the other side, and recognized who his surprise opponent was instantly. A young man called Kadaj, who Sephiroth said was created after his own image, and in hair, eye and clothing color looked very close to the man that loved to antagonize his friend Cloud. That felt rather profound and symbolic, really; if that was considered Kadaj was a embodiment of Sephiroth in his own flair, then Sora would in that case represent Cloud. He laughed inwardly to himself, which showed on his outer facial features as a sly knowing grin. Well, he did have the crazy spiky hair like Cloud did, which he thought Tifa was seeking him out for. And the same shade of darkened clothes, and the same beliefs and goals to never lose that light in the darkness, but apart from that the comparisons ended. No, maybe he shouldn't be so presumptuous to ever amount to what Cloud fought so hard for; to strive to achieve his own individuality and will from Sephiroth. Sora should just be Sora, and fight for what his heart wanted, as Kadaj would probably no doubt do the same from their previous encounters. Which, Sora knew, was the displeasure of causing as much destruction and elimination as the silver-haired male could do. "Kadaj? You, again?" he greeted him incredulously, but not too much in surprise... after all, he had faced him recently at Beast's Castle. In that fight, he had heard Beast cry out in pain as if deeply in trouble, provoking Sora to run to his friend's aid. And he had been right to do so, for another villain was busy battering his poor friend, and perhaps if not for his intervention and having to postpone his battle directly with Kadaj maybe Beast could have died and lost his heart. He glad that didn't happen though and he could join powers with him again, but now there was nowhere to run. Not for himself in any cowardly manner (as if he could, he would still be brave and charge in even if given the option), nor friends he needed to run to the aid to, and neither was there any for Kadaj. After all, twice before that Sora had managed to beat the Remnant leader and restore tranquility and order to the worlds he was devastating. Had Kadaj grown enough to match his power, or would he tactically send him packing again as he always could, and if not him that could stop Kadaj then who could? He stood with legs apart slightly, not in a battle stance, but clearly confident crossed his arms before him and glanced at Kadaj over his left shoulder with an amused yet indignant body language and look. He listened as the constant rival he kept encountering addressed him, as if he could control the outcome of the tournament himself by saving him for last, contradicted that with seeming content with following along with the rules and going along with the convenience of meeting him head-on before the matches took their toll on him. Once the tough act was over, the bad guy who loved to devastate and maim actually did surprise him; extending a hand to shake his with in a sportsman-like manner. It was wise of Sora to believe this was some sort of entrapment; he had beaten the guy twice, denied him his last fight, not to mention the whole first impression of him was a unprovoked charged-up Draw Slash followed by trying to kill him. The whole 'I won't let anyone else kill you but me' complex syndrome. And yet, he was Sora; he wasn't going to sink to the level the bad guys wanted him to be on and be mistrusting of everyone, even villains. Willing to see the good in people, before the bad... no matter how little that good was. With the crowd watching, and with a genuine smile after he added, "Okay, but don't try anything funny, I'm watching you.", he darted forward to clasp the enemy's hand once firmly and shook it. He let go quickly before Kadaj could get a firm grip on him to try anything underhanded, seeing how out of the two of them and their history, he hadn't betrayed Kadaj intentionally and thus he should be the most considered trustworthy. He stepped back, made his usual trademark pose of hunching down and summoning the Kingdom Key between both hands, smirking at Kadaj. "Yeah, let's have a lot of fun fighting each other. Alright, let's see what you've got this time. I'm ready for anything. Bring it!"(OOC: You go first, Kadaj; you're the villain and you are first in the posting order. Not in character for Sora to attack first in this situation, really. xD) TAG Kadaj SONG LYRICS Lost in the Echo by Linkin Park |

The warmth of the daytime sun could be felt across the top of the Remnant's head and shoulders. It was a very pleasant day, perfect weather for a battle. Even though the heat of the star floating far in outer space was causing the Remnant Leader to sweat a little, wearing full leather and all, he didn't give it any thought at all. His glowing turquoise eyes were locked onto Sora's own orbs, just staring at him as if he was a starved dog being taunted with some meat. The disappointment of Beast's Castle had left the silver-haired youth longing for a rematch with the 'Key to Everything', one where there would be no chances for running away or going to aid friends and fellow team mates. While this was a team-based Tournament, no one else other then the audience gathered around the arena were present and readying themselves for combat. It was both a stroke of luck that the Remnant Leader had managed to draw Sora straight off the bat and perhaps fate that they were destined to face each other once more. Again, not that Kadaj actually cared. He just wanted to fight this brown-haired brat!
The creaking of leather that tightened about his forearm after having extended his limb in gesture of a hand-shake was soon, though swiftly, accompanied with the softer leathery creak of Sora's hand gripping the Remnants. There was no desire to pull off a cheap attack at this stage of the battle, though as Sora had cautiously observed the Remnant's hand, Kadaj's own glowing eyes didn't flicker away from the Keybarer for even half a second. Continuing to smirk from ear to ear, Kadaj watched as the brown-haired Keybarer accepted his gesture and instantly hopped backwards a moment later, his guard raised as always. No one could blame little Sora for acting like so, but the action did cause the silver-haired Remnant to chuckle softly. "What are you frightened of? I'm not going to bite." Kadaj jested as his eyes narrowed, his face being smothered with a taunting smirk and dangerous glare that he revealed to the Keybarer by tilting his head back a fraction so the silver hair covering half his face shifted to reveal more of his features. A second later and Kadaj turned around slightly, putting his back towards Sora as he took a couple of paces away from him, his left hand reaching back behind his body as his slender fingers snaked their way around the tightly wrapped handle of his Souba.
The singing of the polish steels blades sliding free of their snug resting place, was barely heard over the roars of the crowds as they begun to cheer on either combatant, more so now that their weapons were finally being drawn and summoned. Souba vs Keyblade. Obviously Sora had the advantage when it came to the power of ones weapon, but who had the greater combat knowledge? It was safe to say that both of them were probably equally good as one another, thought perhaps the odds were resting more in Sora's favor seeing as he had managed to beat the Remnant Leader on a couple of occasions, a statement that very, very few people could lay claim to. But not this time. Even if this was just a tournament and a source of entertainment and challenge for both fighters and viewers, Kadaj was not going to let up this time. Too many times he had been in battle and too many times his strength and speed had not been tested to their limits. This day was going to change that! "You better keep watching me, Keybarer. Don't expect me to use my usual techniques straight away. You're preparing yourself for a Draw Slash, right? Maybe staying light on your feet so you can turn and block an attack I make from behind you, no?" Kadaj chuckled and flicked his twin-bladed katana within his grip, spinning the weapon about it's tsuba in a full circle before gripping onto the handle once more.
"Or maybe you're thinking I'll use a spell. Perhaps send Flame Pillars at you or test your speed with a Thundaga?" Kadaj paused his walk away from the Keybarer only to turn about on his heels, leather soles scrapping against the arena floor underfoot as he did so. The cheers and chants of the audience were still ringing loud within his ears and they were just as eager to see this fight start as Kadaj was eager to unleash the first move. A moment of stillness washed over the leather-clad Remnant as he held his Souba down by his left hand side and took a moment to run his eyes over the every so familiar stance that Sora had took on. Seemed he was waiting for the Remnant to make the first move and he was only happy to oblige. "As a matter of fact, I plan to use all those I just mentioned on you, but before that happens, would you mind helping me warm up?" Kadaj said with a sarcastic tone, and without even waiting for an answer, Kadaj used his great speed to traverse the short distance between himself and the Keybarer in what felt like less then a second.
Instead of doing his usual back attack though, the silver-haired youth appeared within the blink of an eye directly in front of the 'Key to Everything'. The twin-bladed Souba was raised up overhead and poised to come down in a vicious vertical slash, which it did do in a heavy yet surprisingly fast swing, blades aiming to slice Sora straight down the middle if he didn't block the strike or roll away. A second slash was made to create a two-strike combination, this one traveling in the opposite direction to the first but still carrying the same speed and strength as the strike swiftly swung up to slice skywards from Sora's navel up to his throat.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] In these promises broken, deep below Each word gets lost in the echo
(OOC: Posted as soon as I could, stayed up late on a day I need a early morning Kadaj; hope you appreciate the effort!)
Finally it was time for the fight to begin, and the intensity was ramping up as each combatant drew their weapons and the crowd egged them on with their cheering. With each battle that each person engaged, everytime a weapon as an extension of a person was drawn or a power wielded, a new challenge was wielded and forged as a new connection. Not as euphorial as the invisible strings one shared between two hearts that felt things like having someone to live for when things got grim, friendship or even love, but one melded in the emblazoned viciousness and stress that could only be born in combat. With each challenge that was met, new pathways, new possibilites became open. And each one connecting to the next, each battle giving birth to branches of new encounters and further battles, but not to the people who lost which were ultimately met with one path; death.
It was fortunate such a thing here in the Coliseum would not occur, at least that Sora had manged to avoid so far anyway. At least it wasn't as vicious up here as it was down in the Underworld's Underdrome, but even up here he was sure one false move would see him somehow removed from the tournament in one form or another. If not by competitors, then by Hades. It was this that was lingering in the back of Sora's mind as Kadaj continued to size him up, and with Sora withdrawing soon after the handshake he had offered. Having moved back swiftly, he took note that Kadaj had not tried anything shady like squeezing his hand to death and coming around behind him with a vicious backstab. Maybe Kadaj had changed in more than just power since the last time they had encountered, even if it was just a small shred of the former honorable man he was? Or maybe Kadaj had been too slow, or Sora two swift or not in the right position, for Kadaj to activate any kind of trap manuver he was going to pull. It was difficult to tell for now.
As Kadaj chuckled, Sora brought that confident but prideful smirk on his own lips, raising his chin up in slight defiance. "And I'm supposed to take your word for it, why?" he pointed out at the 'bite' remark, slowly unfolding his arms he had recently crossed over his chest. Kadaj arrogantly put his back to him, as he could relax what with Sora not being as agile and nigh-instantaneous in positioning on the battlefield as the Remnant leader could be. Sora was more the technical and defensive type, in comparison to someone like Kadaj who was more like his Nobody Roxas, who liked to go all-out offensive. If there was hestiation and pause in Sora's movements, it was for good reason, perhaps in some instances it had saved his life. As soon as one got consumed and caught up with power, all the more sooner they had every chance to lose it, and Sora just had to find the right moment and outlet in which to dance around Kadaj's assault.
But what was this now? More mind games in the form of words, as Kadaj began second-guessing him with asking what he was going to do next, as if knowing some of his fighting style could psyche him out? Was the silverhead just secretly afraid Sora was going to successfully counter him again, so he was trying to call him out, trying to belittle his known fighting technique or provoking him into giving him some hint what he was going to do next? All part of the sinister fun and games Kadaj liked to play, and the smirk on Sora's lips grew wider, not assuming this was the case but further confident of what Kadaj's words seemed to be telling him. He let him talk, further going over what either he or Sora was going to do, as if bullying him into making him second-guess himself with his techniques. Although it did occur to Sora Kadaj was simply trying to distract him with word while he powered up something like a Draw Slash, now that the souba-wielder had brought it up.
No response came from Sora as he studied Kadaj's approach, watching carefully as Kadaj invited him to. The steps as he walked away, and then as the offer to warm up rolled around as if a dramatic quote for a queue, Sora kept his eyes open and began to swing in anticipation to Kadaj's movement. It felt funny as the sword swing came and the young man came for him faster blink of an eye, but the knee-jerk reaction having moved in anticipation rather than in pure reaction was perhaps correct, as Kadaj came at him with his first move of a downward vertical slash. Sora had pulled the handle and handguard of the Kingdom Key upwards while pointing the tip of the keyblade downward across his body, catching the forked katana, a loud clash of metal upon metal ringing in his ears.
And like that the crowd went off, roaring and cheering as if to egg the two fighters on after the first clash of the fight had started. Sora was about to push the blade and Kadaj's weight off with a deflect upwards with his sword, when Kadaj moved it himself, Sora realizing he was performing a two-hit angle at a unexpected angle. But it was too late, and while Sora felt the vibration of the force of the hit throught Kadaj's weapon and his own into his own body, the impact was worse as Kadaj got in a lucky strike as he raised up his his keyblade to parry with no keyblade to guard the opposing direction. It felt like slow motion, but the sting of the slash across his chest and glacing off the side of his cheek was not dulled to make it feel like he was watching it. There was an uproar from the crowd as the blade made it look like he was uppercutting Sora, the brunette boy reeling back as his body moved backwards.
Moving to because he was forced, the swordfight continued. Sora did reel backwards from avoiding the blade giving him a nasty scar across the chin to his temple, but used the momentum to roll literally heals over head, putting hands out to avoid the ground forcefully faceplanting into it. He was not even completely standing up and on his feet as he came into a crouch, and swing his keyblade in his right hand from right to left from his point of view, left to right from Kadaj's in the diagonal swing of Slapshot. Unforgivably, he followed up with Upper Slash while moving the keyblade back from Kadaj's lower right to upper left, to return the favor while he was up close and if it connected would forcefully send the man clad completely in black skywards.
"You're not warmed up already? Too bad, but I can humor your 'warm-up'. Try not to pull a charlie horse now!" he slyly replied, all while during his retaliation of basic keyblade attacks.
---
Slapshot: Sora cuts diagonally in a quick motion at the foe, but must be in close range to use it. Cooldown: One post.
Upper Slash: From the ground, during a ground combo Sora can make a powerful uppercut strike with his keyblade to send them into the air. Cooldown: One post.

What a sound!! The roar of the crowd was deafening as they all jumped to their feet the moment the first sign of battle had begun. The majority of them were already on their feet, hands cupped about their mouths as chants and cheers were yelled out towards the brunette Keybarer, urging him to do his best and to 'take him down!'. It was only human to do such a thing and Kadaj just smirked to himself at the shouting of encouragement sent towards the Key to Everything. It was only natural for the fans to support the hero, the fan favourite. Many of these people must have been here before to see the young lad fight within the previous tournaments held by both Phil and Hades. If anything, Sora was the most experienced here, perhaps in the entire tournament, regarding the entering and journey through an event such as this. How far would he get? Would his Keyblade be enough to defeat the Remnant Leader again, or would he slip up or get overwhelmed by the silver-haired youth? Time would tell and time was something the silver-haired youth wanted to make use of! Not that he wished to see this battle end, but so he could get every last ounce of entertainment as he could from battling the brunette Keybarer.
First strike and first blood to the Remnant Leader. The deadly Souba had been blocked the first time around, but the unexpected second hit had found it's mark, slicing into both Sora's chest and more lightly into his cheek. It reminded the Remnant of the time that this very sword had caused a similar wound to the arm of the Mouse King. Whether the cut on Sora's face would remain to scar over and act as a permanent reminder, no one knew other then time itself. It didn't matter. As the silver-haired youth as stated, he was warming up. Things were going to get stronger, faster and more dangerous as time went by. Provoking words and taunting stances were not going to draw out the full strength of the Key to Everything, something the Avatar of Sephiroth desperately wanted to see. No, pushing his own limits up to the maximum would surely be the only way to force Sora to do the same, but not yet, it was too early.
The Keybarer recovered well, as Kadaj's glowing eyes watched the young man flip himself heals over head to land upon his feet in a crouch, a superb stance in which to unleash a fast counter strike. Kadaj was already approaching the brunette however as he looked up and begun swinging his Keyblade in a mimicking action to how the Remnant himself attacked. Deciding to humour the young man, the mirror-polished Souba was dragged up from the Remnant's left hand side, the tips of the blade slicing small cuts into the ground as the weapon sung a soft yet deadly tune while slicing through the air. The clatter of steel against steel resulted in the first strike of the Keyblade being harmlessly parried onwards, before the silver-haired youth, somewhat expectedly from Sora's point of view, swung his sword arm back behind his body, allowing Sora to connect with his second strike. Right up until the moment the iconic Keyblade made connection with Kadaj's chin, his devilish smirk was plastered across his face, taunting Sora to give it his all. The blow hurt, no lies there, but it was hardly anything that Sora was capable of, otherwise this fight would not last very long after all.
A fine strike, enough to throw Kadaj' head back forcefully, his feet threading thin air as his body followed. Unlike the Key to Everything, Kadaj flew back and ended up clattering down upon the stone floor, back first. His torso bounced from the impact and skidded to a halt a moment later, a small cloud of dust raising up and settling down a moment afterwards. But a second later and Kadaj sat up, his chin bruised and bloody from the strike, though his devilish smirk had not altered a fraction, his eyes growing colder and colder as the excitement ran quicker and quicker through his veins. "You warming up too huh?" He asked, his tone dripping with confidence as the creaking of leather revealed the movement of Kadaj standing back up to his feet, a gloved hands dusting himself down. "That's fine. It won't be fun if you don't give it your all." The Remnant Leader continued as he returned his attention back onto the young Keybarer, his eyes glowing with enough of a cold stare to freeze the waters in the oceans.
Further leather creaked as Kadaj brought his right arm up to his neck upon where he tilted his head from side to side, a couple of cracks echoing out though were barely heard due to the crowds. As his arm dropped down to his side, Kadaj smirked once more as he begun walking forwards towards the Keybarer. After a couple of steps, the Remnant Leader used his incredible speed to create two After Images
[/b] of himself, one continuing to walk forwards a couple more steps before it brought it's Souba up and attempted the same attack sequence as Kadaj opened up with. A moment before the first Image attacked, the second dashed in from behind the Keybarer, thrusting it's Souba forth in a strong thrust towards Sora's spine. Being After Images though, they were completely harmless and if their attacks hit, Sora would suffer no damage. The damage was going to come from Kadaj himself, who reappeared quite literally out of thin air just a couple of feet off to Sora's right hand side, Souba glowing bright white in the form of a Decaslash[/b], a vicious ten-string combo attack of varying angling strikes. What made it dangerous was not the number of attacks, but how fast they came out. In only a matter of seconds, all ten strikes had been aimed at Sora's body. First two at both his legs, the next six sent at his chest mostly in diagonal slashes, followed with a brutal overhead swing that was finished off with a 360 degree, horizontal power attack that would release a blast of Darkness to potentially knock Sora away were he to take or block the final strike. A loud ' HYAAA!!' escaped the Remnant's lips as he made the final strike, putting a fair amount of his strength into the blow, as if wanting to slice Sora in half. [/blockquote] ----- Cool Downs After Image[/b] - 2 Posts -- A technique where Kadaj can create up to three harmless images of himself in various locations where they act on their own will for a few seconds before vanishing into thin air. Kadaj himself attacks from a random direction while they're on the battlefield.Decaslash[/b] - 3 Posts -- An upgraded version of Sephiroth's 'Octaslash', this attack sports an additional two strikes at the end of the combo, resulting in 10 strikes total. The final strike releases a blast of Darkness to knock a close enemy away.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] So one last lie, I can see through This time I'll finally LET YOU GO.
There is a saying, "Time heals all wounds.", and on some level that was true. But was it completely? The scars cast by battle here may or may not heal over time, depending on how the injury was treated either in or outside of battle and more importantly, how emotionally devastating the moment in memory was for the victim. For while flesh healed over time, emotional scars could run deep. Some that, like physical scars that sometimes did remain, would or could never heal. Wounds that ran so deep that they would never, ever go away.
But today was not a situation like that at all. Today? It was just a monitored competitive bloodsport that could turn bloodbath at any given moment, thanks to Hades and his twisted desire to rid himself of the 'Key to Everything'. Maybe Kadaj could one day find something that would emotionally devastate the young boy so much he'd let a physical scar remain like Mickey, but not today. This day was just a first in the series of battles he was hoping to find the people he was looking for... in his own way, a battle scar that had been left in Sora's heart at the realization in memory and stories that other people had suffered drastically at the hands of Xehanort.
Xehanort had been the one to leave the deep scars below in the hearts of others, and indirectly by effect Sora's heart that was connected unconditionally by and to others. All in his goal to seek the ultimate realization in darkness, to manipulate people's hearts as if they were bottles on a shelf, all in his goal of realizing a world he wanted to shape. But he was wrong, and he was not. His reputation had preceeded him, but infamously, and in consequence had started a series of chains of events that had dragged Sora and his friends into his little doomsday party. Some others that had visited his island were somewhat responsible too, but not to blame, and in some twisted way if it were not for him having destroyed his world and coaxing Riku into the darkness he would not be here today nor a part of all of this that was bigger than himself.
Reputation. The crowd around them cheered, egging Sora on, some people here knowing the role he played in saving Hercules, Meg and defeating Hades. Some here and others on other worlds that would call him 'hero' and others that looked to him as a guiding savior to protect the worlds and those of virtuous nature within them. But, was he really a hero, and what defined one if he was not? He had wanted to be a hero long ago when Phil had dubbed him a 'junior hero' and eventually blessed the full title in the stars after Hades had been cast into the River Styx. But being a hero was more about just a title, being brave and saving the day... Sora didn't feel like one half the time just doing what he believed was right and benefitical for everyone... often being a hero meant the path of self-sacrifice. But was he the right one to choose, to be the hero and be at the right place at the right time to make the right decisions, to change the worlds? All he knew was that he stopped the worlds from plunging into darkness twice and saved countless numbers of people, friends and allies alike. Even if he was still not considered a hero, he still believed that the light deep down within the darkness that never went out, was showing the worlds what they could be to have those benevolent and kind traits. Even if he failed to make a difference like the trap he had fallen into made by Master Xehanort, if he reached at least one person that felt inspired and believed that doing good meant good things and hope no matter how overwhelming the odds and never giving up, then he at least could say like the brave warriors he was searching for and currently assisting that inspired him in turn he had somehow made a difference.
To stop good people from dying and suffering.
That was why he was surprised when people egged him on in the crowd, calling him a 'hero', and yet some people also who liked a bad boy and perhaps a dark horse also cheered on for Kadaj, or perhaps the look of some spiky-haired kid with a keyblade ticked them off. Yet despite the first opening of trading blows, the cut Kadaj had successfully striked into Sora's chest and chin hadn't shown up physically to leave scars like His Majesty had been left by the same artist... yet. Sora wasn't one to bleed easily, yet the pain still was there, washed and conditioned into him from the energy created in the battle. It didn't mean that the cuts were not there; perhaps they were so finely sharp, they just were like paper cuts and weren't that deep they would kill, or that they were yet to bleed. However, Sora's clothes didn't look considerably cut open; it was just the first blow after all.
Kadaj seemed to want to antagonize Sora, perhaps in a frightening bluff as he cut his weapon through the ground, which if he wasn't careful could further dull his sharp-pointed Souba. As Sora watched as he retaliated to see if he could get a shot in, Kadaj lifted his blade to parry his Slapshot, but wasn't as successful as for as Sora somewhat suspected his sword arm was swung behind him afterwards, creating an opening for the spiky-haired youth to uppercut his foe with Upper Slash. The attack was meant to throw him sky-high into the air for Sora to follow, and he half-expected Kadaj to take advantage of the forced aerial launch and counter with aerial attacks of his own. However, for reasons unknown the silver-head returned to earth before Sora could even follow-up with a aerial attack, bouncing and landing on his back. Having ignored the effects and sitting up to speak to Sora, he wondered if somehow he was immune to Launch-like attacks. If he was, that was pretty impressive... or maybe he had a tolerance to gravity from Cloud's home world, as most of the people there could jumper higher than the average person.
"Warming up? I'm just getting started!" Sora smiled, but was furrowing his eyebrows, a mischevious but impressed grin on his face. Rather sportsman-like, he let him stand up and dust himself off, rather than be sneaky and attack him while he was still recovering. Of course, an icy stare came from the Remnant leader, but it was nothing Sora hadn't become conditioned to before that by now he had become desensitized to it. As if to humor Kadaj in kind to mockingly ridicule him of his own taunts from earlier, he provoked him himself now he had dealt the last blow. "Are we all set?" he chuckled, as Kadaj cracked his neck in stretching and began to walk towards him, hunkering down and preparing for the next onslaught.
He tried not to blink, watching for those instantaneous techniques that this Sephiroth junior was infamous for. As he lifted up his weapon for a repeat attack from the same direction, Sora found that rather odd, as Kadaj was not known for repeating himself and more for his spontaneity. Or was he just mimicing him, as he was with his uppercut? Regardless, he raised the Kingdom Key to block and didn't think anything of it until a phantom Souba stabbed right through his chest, and when the Kadaj in front of him had his sword go through his keyblade knew Kadaj had just used his After-Image. His first instinct was to use a evasive manuver, but not seeing the real Kadaj in his sights didn't want to dip too much into his powers just yet and waste them if it was a multi-hit move. So instead, he started strafing off to his left-hand side so he could look for Kadaj and avoid any incoming Draw Slashes or spells that the real Kadaj was probably preparing to launch at him.
As Kadaj appeared out of nowhere to his right-hand side a few feet away, he unleashed a kind of Octaslash like Sephiroth's, but much faster than before. As Sora was still running, the first two missed his legs and the first two of the six slashes aimed for his chest he dodged and weaved through. But that was when Sora's luck ran out, as the next three hits struck him in the side, causing him to stop and stagger on the spot for a moment. Before the last strike could inflict damage on him, Sora did the only thing he could think of doing in knee-jerk reaction, lifting up the broad Kingdom Key and using Block to defend himself. The attack sent up a protective barrier and he successfully defended himself from it, and the damage from the brutal overheard swing.
Unfortunately, since he did not know yet of the new attack Kadaj had learned and was still blocking, and still realizing the Octaslash had a ninth hit that had come out, he was knocked away viciously by the 360 degree horizontal and final strike. Sora was knocked backwards a few feet away, landing on his behind before sliding to a stop, left hand out behind him to rectify his balance but as the dust settled, still had his keyblade before him defensively as if his very life depended on it being up and not getting sliced in half. He pushed himself up, having been seen dragging backwards and went down for a moment like Kadaj had done previously... but like him also had a familiar trick up his sleeve. From the damage absorbed into the Guard technique from his keyblade, it was then instantaneously unleashed after Sora got up, moving just as fast as Kadaj as he exploded forth with Counterguard. He made three quick slashes in pure retaliation, one across the temple and face of the leather-clad youth as if to bludgeon him with the non-teeth side of the blade, one slash diagonally across his chest, and the last one vertically again across his legs as if to make a 'S' shape of his name into his opponent. A clever "Nothing to it!" was added afterwards as Sora finished and began strafing again around Kadaj, this time to his right-hand side, the forked katana-wielder's left hand side as the crowd roared and chanted them both on.
Scars and reputations - both were easily made, but not so easily erased.
---
Action one: Sora used Guard to block and negate two out of the ten slashes of Decaslash, once he could no longer evade them by strafing whilst also looking for the real Kadaj. Also absorbed the damage from the third and final slash.
Guard: Sora stands still and blocks attacks with a reverse thrust from his keyblade. Can only block physical objects, not magic. Duration: One post. Cooldown: Two posts.
Action two: Once having absorbed three out of the ten Decaslashes (the last one knocked Sora back), Sora unleashed the damage back at Kadaj in the form of Countergaurd.
Counterguard: If successfully blocking an opponents physical attack with Guard, Sora can then instantly counter with a few quick slashes of light from his keyblade at the enemy. (Must use Guard in the same post or in the former post, and Guard must be the last power used. Duration/cooldown is shared with Guard.)
On cooldown:
Slapshot, Upper Slash: Finished cooldown.

The side of the roaring and cheering crowds that had come to support the Key to Everything, all stood up and shouted out various warnings and alerts to try and aid the brunette of incoming attacks made by the silver-haired youth. The majority of the crowd however seemed to take a sharp intake of air at the sight of two Remnant's appearing on the arena floor, both of them seemingly being successful in their attacks, especially the one who came in to attack the Keybarer from behind, twin Souba blades sinking hilt deep into Sora's back though causing no damage to him what-so-ever. The sight of the Keybarer being 'impaled' caused some of the audience, mostly women, to gasp and shriek at the sight of such a thing and were left in awe to see that the young man was unharmed. As both the After Images of the Remnant Leader vanished into nothingness, a collective 'LOOK OUT!' erupted from Sora's supporting fans. It was such an adrenaline boosting sound, even from the Remnant's side of things as he watched his new and improved 'Octaslash' slice it's way closer and closer to the brunette Keybarer.
The first few hits hit only thin air as the Keybarer had fortunately guessed the right direction in which to move, but the Remnant was faster still as he caught up and smirked with a devil-like expression as he felt the majority of the remaining strikes hit home, three across his chest, a block and the final strike landing home with full force. The eruption of Darkness from the final blow sent out a magnificent dark-purple and black shock wave in a large 360 degree circle, parallel to the ground which smashed into the magical barrier protecting the audience before vanishing completely. Flicking his Souba around his hand in a swift circle, rotating his wrist to give the blade it's momentum, Kadaj smirked again as he watched his young opponent fall down onto his rump, following by collapsing down onto his back after skidding backwards a few feet. Catching the twin-bladed katana by it's handle, holding the blade in a reverse hand grip so the blunt edge of the sword was resting against the back of his forearm, the silver-haired youth was about to make a snide remark before the sight of the Keybarer suddenly dashing forth with surprising speed, forced his eyes to open widely, clearly not expecting him to counter so quickly!
"URG!!" He grunted, lifting his left arm up as high as he could, which was only enough to protect his head from the Kingdom Key due to the awkward position in which he held his blade. The impact was fierce, much more so then when Sora attacked the first time. As a result, the Remnant had been knocked off balance, his body following the path the Keyblade travelled, ending up with his left-hand side facing the Key to Everything. Sora's second strike hit home, sinking heavily into the Remnant Leader's stomach with caused a loud "OOF!!" to escape his lips, the Keyblade obviously winding the silver-haired youth. The last strike was also a success, catching the backs of Kadaj's legs and launching him off the ground. Kadaj himself had no idea which way around he was until he had complete one and a half rotations, smashing down onto his chest and face with a heavy thud. A cloud of dust kicked up from the hard impact of leather upon the hard arena floor, following by that of a sound resembling steel stabbing into stone. Indeed, in the confusion, Kadaj had released his grip on the Souba which had spun across the arena and embedded itself into the ground.
The crowd gasped and instantly started to cheer Sora on after such a display of skill and power, his name being chanted louder as well as an applause spreading throughout the Coliseum. Back in the center of the arena however, there was someone who wasn't quite as impressed. Quite the opposite. Kadaj coughed due to the dust that had gathered as he pushed himself up onto his elbows, his leather bound hands clenching into fists so tightly that they begun to shake. Why??!! Why can't I beat you?!!! WHY!!!??!
[/i] Screamed the Remnant Leader in his thoughts, a fist rising up before slamming down onto the solid stone floor. Another and another. upon the forth strike of the ground, the large stone slab finally cracked into thousands of pieces. As it did so, a large wave of Darkness broke out of the Remnant's body, smothering the ground upon which he lay, turning it the darkest of blue and purple, as if it had been infected with Geostigma. The light shining from the sun overhead started to dim, as if clouds had covered it, but a glance skywards would reveal this not true. No, the light seemed to be getting absorbed from the Remnant himself as his anger was clearly rising higher and higher, his power and his Darkness increasing quickly and steadily. Closing his ever brightly burning eyes and holding his breath at the same time, he calmed himself, slowly but surely. The Darkness tainting the floor started to vanish and the light returned to normal and by time the Remnant Leader pushed himself up to his feet, everything had returned to how it should be. Finally, he opened his eyes and glanced in Sora's direction giving him a serious glare. No words were shared though, not this time. Whatever just happened, Sora would have to figure out himself. From Kadaj's side of things though, it was obviously time to up his game. Not waiting around to see if Sora had any questions, a bright yellow glow shone out from the Remnant's left forearm, his Enemy Skill Materia. This colour glow escaping the silver-haired youth's arm would have also been new to the Key to Everything. The creaking of leather only just reached Kadaj's ears as he crossed his arms before his chest, his eyes glowing brighter for a second as he prepared himself, before suddenly and swiftly throwing his arms down to his sides. Upon opening his mouth, a large, putrid cloud of dark green smoke/gas escaped from his lungs in the form of Bad Breath[/b], an attack made infamous by the native Malboro's of the Remnant's home world. The gas spread forth quickly in a wide 45 degree arc, covering the ground before him swiftly until at least half of the arena floor was covered in this smelly/sticky gas. With any luck, the Keybarer would be stuck in the middle of it, or at least the gas would have either touched his skin or got inhaled into his own lungs, which was all that was needed for the attack to work. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] Test my will, test my heart Let me tell you how the odds gonna stack up
What motivated a man to do the things he did? What was his drive, his resolve, his passion to fight for the things he thought for? The answer seemed simple: what that person cared about more than anything in that moment the decision was made that their hearts wanted what they wanted. Or, was it that simple? Many factors came into account, as well as social and environmental conditioning, but in the end it came down to simple basic truths; dying for what one loved. Whether that came to be protecting friends, family and home, to the self desire to gain power and spread as much chaos and disaster as one could, to controlling one's world with possessions of the self like money and power.
There was also another factor; the catalyst. And more often than not, it was provocation, that only came in the form of chaos. People would not go and leave their homes to fight if there was no fight to begin with. There was always going to be someone on the opposing side; someone that wanted something different that conflicted with everyone else, that brought about attention from society in a way it was determined a threat that must be eliminated with extreme force. Or at least, dealt with in a manner that satisfied the individual in question, not even the people who were affected by the havoc would need to know of the results or be pleased if the individual had less than noble desires. There would always be people who thought differently; diversity and free will often brought about opposing polar opposites and radical disagreements, as there was a saying goes that 'ultimate freedom is ultimate chaos'.
But moreso, the catalyst was the important equation that meant either flight or fight for the individual. It was either words from loved ones, or pain caused by the calamity; maybe even seeing others or having others offer deals or services to get the participant invovled. No matter one looked at it, while villains created heroes, heroes in turn would also create villains. And thus when both clashed, it came back to that same argument that a new path was created; but in a conflict cycle of continuous conflict and repetition of the good and the bad guys, was any change made? Yes, the worlds had been saved from plunging into darkness, and on the darker side those who were evil continued to grow in power or be cut down otherwise. Perhaps through all the sorrow and despair, violence brought on by both sides and making them both suffer to see their end desired result, perhaps love was still ultimately the only important thing that survived the wars... even if it just meant brotherly love in the form of kindness and respect.
These people here in the stands were here because they loved the sport; perhaps Kadaj was here to hone his skills and have a little devilish fun in the meantime at his opponent's expense. Was Sora here for love? He cared about the people he sought and it was his goal to ease their suffering which was which he loved, so the answer was yes. But was he willing to die for it? Yes, but not here and now in a tournament that was meant to be controlled... but wasn't. Sora realized as his slashes landed home on the Remnant leader, sucessfully striking all three times feverishly and watching him spinning to hit the ground, then as he began a violent display of anger by hitting the ground considered maybe perhaps now was a good time to pretend that his life depended on this match.
The young man looked very pissed off, so he had little time to celebrate scoring his own hits, the thought of taunting Kadaj to get back up weighing in the back of his mind. Maybe that would be a little over the top and piss him off too much, and blind him into a muderous rage, but did he really want to win because his foe was becoming emotionally careless that he wouldn't concentrate as hard as if he were calm. Sora took a deep breath as he kept running in a circle around the silver haired youth, watching him carefully, also chosing his words in the same manner. "C'mon. You don't look done yet." he egged on, the Kadaj supporters in the crowd joining in as they called his name, Sora meaning this in perhaps the most encouraging and kind thing he had ever said to this antagonist. That was Sora; even when he envisioned his life was on the line in the tournament, he always saw the good before the bad, in this case the small fleck of good that was Kadaj having hope in himself.
He didn't think he really would have taken all those defeats to heart... or was it all a psyche to lower his guard? Words of sportsmanship would do, drawing near wasn't an option at this rate. As he circled him, he watched estrangely as the ground beneath him crack, then a seeping darkness appear around him. That couldn't be good, and for a minute it seemed like it blotted out the sun, but after a deep breath to assert himself the black-clad man was glaring those cold aquamarine daggers at him again. Pfft, well, that was good 'ol Kadaj back to normal he supposed.
So the darkness that had retreated back into the Remnant wasn't an attack; maybe a power? Maybe he had depleted enough of his health to transform him into a new kind of form? Only one way to find out. A yellow orb shone in his arm, and then from out of his mouth came the pouring of putrid gas on Sora's half of the arena. At the time, as Sora was still strafing around him with his keyblade laying back over his right shoulder, he was positioned just before Kadaj as the attack was aimed at him. Because he kept moving, he was able to run ahead of the gas as it spilt out on the spot he had been standing earlier; he might have been hit if the mouth gas had been poured out where he was going to go, not where he was. None the less, the gass spread quick, and Sora ended up having to jump and land on the ground on the other side of the non-contaminated part of the arena to keep ahead of the advancing wave, touching his shoes but missing the bare skin of his ankles by mere inches.
Thinking the yellow orb meant something, Sora raised the Kingdom Key and pointed it to the sky, as no clouds like before but instead deadly thunderbolts crackled and roared down in a shower on his half of the battlefield. As the lightning hit the earth, it had a wide spreading effect just like the gas, creating a dome very much like a hemisphere that would extend out a few few from the center of the struck earth and zap Kadaj... if he was unlucky enough to be hit by a single strike of Thundaga that had erupted near his location. However, this was only a defensive measure for Sora to fight back and create a dangerous zone of his half of the arena he had not covered with his Bad Breath. Soon enough, and to make sure he wasn't pulled into the gas while taking cover behind the pouring lightning bolts, Sora followed up with another magical assault in the form of Blizzaga to smother the 'Avatar of Sephiroth' with splintered shotgun-like blasts of thorny icicles.
As Kadaj said nothing, Sora said nothing, his keyblade no longer pointed at the sky but pointed forward. Slick in chilling frost from the powerful ice spell, he had a grim but determined look on his face. As the Souba-wielder had spoke nothing, the Kingdom Key Wielder had spoke nothing. Determined to not only win but survive, Sora was suddenly reminded as a constant in the back of his mind that he was supposed to be having fun, and would not let Kadaj or anyone take that away from him. The expression turned smoothly into that of a smile, Sora moving back amongst the slowly dissipating thunder strikes as his keyblade was leveled at one of his ultimate nemesis, nodding slightly as if to say he was in agreement with how awesome this battle was becoming. Sparks of electricity flew in the air, snowflakes of frost floated within them as light reflected beautifully off their surface, and Sora hunkered down into his trademark pose to prepare for a big shift in fighting style he was glad the dark fog on the other side of the field had not hindered him from partaking in.
---
Action one: Jumping to avoid Bad Breath, Sora used Thundaga on the other side of the field to punish Kadaj should he try to come after his own side of the field.
Thundaga: A indirect electric-elemental spell he uses when there are several enemies advancing towards him, he points his keyblade to the skies, and bolts of lightning shower down randomly and electrocute his opponents. Three post cooldown.
Action two: To attack while keeping his distance until the Bad Breath faded, Sora used Blizaaga to shoot three fan-like icicles at Kaddy.
Blizzaga: A quick shoot-off-the-hip ice elemental spell, he points his keyblade at a target(s) and orbs of frosty ice fan out from the tip, damaging them with the ice's sharpness and frostburn. Three post cooldown.
On cooldown:

The audience were loving this! Fortunately half of them were protected from falling asleep thanks to the magical barriers that sealed in the two warriors to deck it out until either one of them lost or admitted defeat. Bad Breath had succeeded in covering at least half of the arena floor with it;s heavy, sticky substance. Just by looking at the gas, one could see how thick it was. To breathe it in would certainly not be health and seeing as the initial plan to catch Sora in the attack had failed, it would now come down to attempting to knock the young brunette into the lingering, putrid gas. Or maybe not? Limiting the arena to half it size would reduce the amount of places the Key to Everything had to run into, which in turn would work more in the Remnant's favour for utilising his speed. A few complaints arose from one side of the audience, whose vision was now partially blocked due to the lingering Bad Breath. These were of no concern to the silver-haired youth. He was here to have fun but instead he found himself going up against an opponent who just seemed to be able to tick him off in every way possible. What was the secret to his strength? How was he able to hold his own so comfortably against the power the Remnant possessed?
Perhaps that was the problem. Maybe he wasn't strong enough? It was foolish to think that he alone grew stronger while no one else did. Perhaps his pride had been damaged from the ease of how Sora could evade and return the damage dealt to him? Kadaj held his ground for the time being, watching as the brunette Keybarer danced and dodged about the arena in a wide strafe. Was he afraid of staying still? The Key to Everything was obviously cautious of the Remnant. The first two of his opening attacks had managed to hit the 'junior hero', but they were used with speed alone. Could he be preparing himself for more instantaneous attacks, thus rendering slower spells and abilities useless? A frown spread across the Remnant's features as thoughts and strategies ran though his mind. What could he do to catch this punk off guard? To deal a heavy amount of damage in order to give the Remnant the advantage? Advanatge...? Did he really need to get an advantage?! Kadaj blinked the once, his right hand coming up to his chin were he rubbed his fingers softly across the top of his neck and base of his chin, a soft sting shooting through his face upon touching the bruise caused from Sora's first successful strike.
Turquoise eyes glanced down to his chest, noticing the clean slice through his leather attire. A soft 'hmm', escaped his lips as the Remnant Leader tried to recall the last time he had been struck with a Keyblade. It had been much longer then he recalled, so much that he'd actually forgotten how powerful those Key shaped weapons actually were. Attention was moved off his wounds and onto his own weapon of choice, still lodged within the arena floor a few feet away. The Souba was a dangerous weapon, especially when wielded by the silver-haired youth, but was it's power strong enough to take on a Keyblade, one as powerful when wielded by Sora? A shrug of the shoulders was the only answer the Remnant Leader decided to give himself, before he stepped forth, leather boots carrying the young Remnant across the arena to where his beloved weapon lay impaled in the ground. Leather gloved fingers creaked about the handle tightly, the blade being pulled free from the ground with little resistance, almost as if the weapon was happy to be back in it's masters grasp. Turning back around to cast his eyes on and every moving Keybarer, Kadaj chuckled darkly.
"Okay, that should do for a warm up." The cold voice of the silver-haired youth spoke up, his left arm rotating about the shoulder a couple of times which resulted in a couple of cracks signalling he was still loosening himself up. The wound on his chin and chest did sting, but he wasn't going to let something so small bother him. Should Sora succeed in upsetting him once more, he'd suffer the full force of his strength and abilities. What happened before with the absorbing of light and the spreading of Darkness was only a slither of what the silver-haired youth had stored away inside of him. There was MUCH more where that came from. Hopefully, he'd get the chance to show off what he could actually do, and what better person to use his powers against then the Key to Everything himself? It was time to get things started on a more serious scale! Keeping a careful eye on the Keybarer, Kadaj stepped towards him a couple of times in ordinary, simple steps. He didn't shift into a stance nor position his Souba anywhere other then keeping it hanging by his left hand side. Instead, he waited and watched to see what Sora intended to do. Seeing as Kadaj now currently 'occupied' half of the arena floor, it would not come as a surprise to see Sora attempt the same thing, in an attempt to keep the Remnant away so he could catch his breath, or for whatever means, it mattered not.
The Remnant Leader confidently walked forth, heading directly for the Keybarer and leaving the dark green fog of Bad Breath behind him. The moment the brunette shot his Keyblade up over his head, did a subtle red aura in the form of Remnant Rage
[/b]surround the silver-haired youth. His expression was stoic as cold turquoise eyes focused on his opponent and watched his every move, taking note that he was hiding himself behind bolts of powerful lightning that fell from the skies. The spell didn't appear to be a direct assault, but the closer Kadaj walked towards the Keybarer, the more he started to feel his hair and eyelashes twitching from the static building in the arena. Sure enough, a large clap of thunder echoed from overhead before a bolt crashed down upon the Remnant Leader, though after the bright flash and thunderous clap, the silver-haired youth continued to walk forth as if no effected by the spell. His skin was singed and the leather attire covering his body had been burned; Thundaga obviously hit him... but why he didn't stagger or stumble backwards...? Next came another spell, one that Kadaj again didn't even attempt to try and avoid as sharp, cold shards of ice struck his skin and clothing. Should Sora have been paying attention, he may have noticed that the icicle shards almost 'bounced' off the silver-haired youth as he walked forth, that red aura surrounding him seemingly growing stronger after taking the Thundaga spell. Kadaj's movement had also increased noticeably, even though he didn't up his pace into a jog or a run. The cause was the red aura, Remnant Rage. Every time the Key to Everything landed an attack, magical or physical, the Remnant's speed, strength and defences of both melee and magic, increased steadily. The once stoic expression had turned into a smirk as excitable as one might expect from Kadaj having fun. Within the blink of an eye, the silver-haired youth had pulled his Souba back to his left hand side, holding the blade as if it were sheathed in an imaginary scabbard. An iconic stance, one Sora would recognise as Draw Slash, but instead of the usual subtle blue glow to surround the twin-bladed katana, this time it was red, matching the aura that shone about the Remnant Leader himself. The next moment, Kadaj vanished. No feathers emerged from his location and no images were left in his wake. He simple vanished into nothingness with nothing but the path of a thin red aura travelling up to and just beyond the Keybarer. Within that exact same instant of vanishing, Kadaj reappeared a few feet behind the Key to Everything, a single Souba slash having been aimed across Sora's face, mainly his eyes, seeing as his Keyblade was protecting his chest and a moment later, the ground between where Kadaj vanished and reappeared exploded skywards in a large rupture of the earth. Shards of rock and the fires of the underworld itself blasted towards the heavens in an attempt to score a second hit on the hopefully distracted Keybarer. Rupture Slash[/b], another brand new attack from the Remnant Leader. Lets see how the Keybarer liked this one! [/blockquote] -= Bad Breath[/b] is lingering across half the arena floor and will remain in place for 1 Post unless set aflame or blown away.=- -=Kadaj has a 66% increase to his speed, strength, magic defence and physical defence after taking damage from Thundaga and Blizzaga.=- ----- After Image[/b] - Ready to be used! Decaslash[/b] - 1 Post. Bad Breath[/b] - 4 Posts. Remnant Rage[/b] - 4 Post Duration Remaining. -- A subtle red aura will covered the Remnant and will remain in place during the duration to show that the ability is in effect. During this period, any attacks that hit him cause his speed, strength and defence (both magic and melee) to grow. During this state of excitement, Kadaj will deliberately take attacks to increase his powers before launching a powerful counter attack. If Kadaj attacks, this will not return his stats to normal, but if no one attacks him or no one hits him for an entire post, then his stats will return to normal. For every three successful hits that land on him, his stats are increased by 100%.Rupture Slash[/b] - 3 Posts -- Bringing his Souba down to the right side of his waist as if he is readying himself to release a Draw Slash attack, Kadaj's Souba will glow red instead of blue. After a moment passes, Kadaj will suddenly dash forwards and 'disappear' as he dashes across the battlefield in a single bound, attacking every enemy that stands within a line along his path with a single Souba strike each, which could deal Light damage and if unguarded. At the end of the path he travels, Kadaj will 'reappear' out of thin air due to how fast he moved. A trail of dust is left in Kadaj's wake and a trail of red aura is left in the path the Souba travelled, that, after a couple seconds, causes the ground below to rupture and explode upwards in a violent blast of rock and flame, dealing Medium damage if not avoided.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] Y'all go hard, I go smart How's it working out for y'all in the back, huh?
The crowd was still cheering away, words lost amongst the garble of yells and jeers incomprehensible amongst the sounds of battle. Did these people know who exactly were these warriors were, apart from the names given, or did they not care so long as they were entertained? Did they ever wonder why they were so strong for gladiators, or did they think they were gods and demi-gods like his ol' buddy Herc? Did they even suspect that maybe they were not from this world? Maybe only the sharp ones were, as Phil and Herc did not find out until Sora left from their lives and returned much later.
The so-called 'junior heroes' were finally given the title upon completion of their activities on the world, and a year later they were then given the title of heroes once the events at the Underdrome and Underworld had come to it's finale. Time and time again, Sora had entered these tournaments and proven his worth by defeating many powerful teams of foes, some even as strong as Kadaj if not stronger, but it was not always enough just to be strong and overpower your opponent. You had to know what to do in the right situation, apply the right technique, and preserve yourself as much as possible when it was safe. And sometimes, just a little luck. And of course, the important thing was to have fun and try not to think about what would happen if he would lose!
It was true the Bad Breath covering the arena would limit Sora's movement, which was exactly part of the reason why he had wrestled and pushed back for space with his own area attack magic, so Kadaj could not simply corner him and be done with it. Not that easily. He had to earn this if he had any chance of winning, and Sora hasn't anywhere near getting worn down or tired out, he was still just getting started! His magic could only hold out so long though, but so could the noxious green gas, and it seemed just enough to stop the Remnant leader in his tracks and hold him back. This would give Sora a distinct counter-attack so he could move freely again, and also watch the silver-head's movement for any other new tricks he had up his sleeve.
How was Sora able to stand up to the Remnant Leader, to hold his own so comfortably, his secret strength? It wasn't like Sora had anything to hide, anything the 'larva of Sephiroth' could point weakness towards. The answer was very simple, and it wasn't simply because Sora had earned a keyblade that wasn't meant for him. If anyone knew the true power of the keyblade, they knew it's power lay in friendship. Not the power of relying on other people's strength because he was weak himself; nothing like that at all. It was the firm, solid resolve that he knew he had good people relying on him and counting on him, but also that he was willing to see the good in others, and offer them kindness out of mutual respect they could care for others more than themselves.
But it was useless trying to explain that to someone that only cared for power for the sake of power and flexing it to cause chaos, as would his opponent before him. Anyone could wield the power of the keyblade, and not truly understand it's potential, seeing it as an all-powerful weapon that could manipulate locks. But the truth was, the keyblade was nothing without the heart of the person it chose, and even then true, unshakable resolve like Sora's could only be met with having a heart that was noble and saught to do the right thing in humility without the keyblade. That was a lesson that Sora learned in Hallow Bastion, when the horrible truth came the Kingdom Key was not originally intended for him; his heart had not only won the battle with his friends returning to his side, but the keyblade had this time completely chosen Sora over Riku due to the strength in his heart forged by modesty and virtue. The keyblade had truly become his for real that day, and an extension of his heart that was selflessly brave time and time again to end the suffering of those inconciviably altered forever by the worlds plunging into the deepest darkness, that would shine as a beacon of hope that all was not lost.
Perhaps one day if and when Kadaj could understand what it was like to sincerely care for someone else other than himself and the havoc he cleaved with his Souba, he would become as unwavering as Sora was in his resolve to stop him, but his way of thinking that way would not be today. If Sora could not stop people like Kadaj, it would be hard-pressed to find another heroic person who could, much less be willing to. Kadaj's power seemed to stem deeply, much like the one-winged angel he had arisen from the shadow of, to feed and grow from the power of other people's suffering. Of course, today was just a tournament and there was no real threat of death or destruction here. Yet, Sora could not willingly show weakness or it was indefinate Kadaj would seek to exploit it the next time they met outside these controlled conditions.
The back of his glove wiped away condensation that had gathered; either from the eerie dark mist or sweat, Sora couldn't be too sure or even care right now. As the sun shone down on the both of them from near-cludy afternoon sky, he lowered the keyblade he pointed at Kadaj in a taunting gesture, watching as he fingered a bruise he had left him from the first strike. Sora began to move and strafe him once more, now that the dark fog on his side of the field was dissipating, watching cautiously for the next assault. The spiky brunette had to wonder, if his electric and ice techniques would be enough to hit a weak spot, still watching as static sparks of light and wisps of reflecting frost still remained in the air as he casted the the spells. Kadaj began to walk to where he had discarded his Souba, then took full awareness a strange red aura surrounding him, before he deliberately took a lightning bolt on Sora's side of the field.
The yellow glow in his arm was gone, gone before the lightning had zapped him; had he missed his chance, or was it not a weak spot at all? Curious, he continued to stay on the defensive and keep on the move around Kadaj, wondering if the red aura now meant he was weak to fire attacks? As The Key That Connected To Everyone shot his ice spell towards him to keep out of the last remnants of the Bad Breath, Kadaj did not make an attempt to block or evade it either, and Sora now began to wonder if maybe his first guess was wrong about the red aura. Maybe it absorbed magic spells, but how would Kadaj have known that if he turned it on before he cast his magic, unless it was a lucky break?
Anyone who knew Sora knew that he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and in balance the strength came from his heart bigger than anyone that anyone ever knew. Which is why he had yet to figure out what the power-up of the red aura was for, unless it was for an attack he was about to execute, and the red aura was a damage buffer to protect him while he powered up. Sora became more on his guard than ever, going through his head what he should do in the event of what would come up next rather than trying to figure out something that was stumping him at the moment. That was how he battled, he didn't get caught up thinking about different strategies; he just did in the moment what he thought was right in his heart, and improvised with what he had. So when the black-clad youth suddenly disappeared, Sora reacted accordingly, and a bright flash of light engulfed the arena as a trail of red appeared underneath him.
When the light cleared, the white flash had become clear once Kadaj dared to look behind him with his aquamarine eyes; hexagonal tiles of magic appeared around Sora momentarily, as the wielder of the Souba wasn't the only one with hidden tricks up his sleeve. Sora had been saving this one from Kadaj for a while, and for good reason; it was the ultimate magic when it came to a devastating attack, which Sora could feel had hit him across the face and blasted him from underneath him in the earth. With Kadaj's increased speed, the first part of the Light-elemental attack had indeed hit and caused damage across his face. But now the second half of the red-earth-like attack had hit him... the magic absorbed the powerful blow and much like Sora's Counterguard, reversed it back at Kadaj in the form of almighty Reflega. Even though the spell was magic, the damage output was completely the opposite, reflecting back the same type and amount of damage that had just been inflicted on Sora. Which would mean in a splash of white circles exploding out from around Sora, Kadaj had the option to feel the blow of his own attack back at him and empower his aura further. Or, he could avoid the hit, but it would cost him his own power-up.
The Keybarer didn't give him much time to reflect, no pun intended, and was already upon him momentarily after the splash damage from Reflega was cast. Since Kadaj had landed a few feet behind him after casting his own surprise attack first, after Sora had countered with his own version of the advanced tier of the Reflect magic as a surprise counter-attack, he turned on his heals around to face his foe. Brown spiky hair bobbed and whipped against his forehead, but he didn't care. Not even if Kadaj still had that enigmatic red aura around him, he wouldn't let the unknown like the darkness, intimidate him. Black, white and yellow sneakers pointed at his target, the large shoes trademarked to this often-goofy keybarer began to slide, Sora's Kingdom Key's teeth-blade digging through the earth as the Souba had done earlier before during the near-instantaneous moment. Regardless of if it clashed with metal or not, the first awakened keyblader in a long time swung his glimmering silver, blue and gold keyblade up in a mighty swing to finish pointing forwards in a lancing movement, as he performed Slide Dash to swiftly attack the katana-wielding menace once more. The fight was on, and more intense than ever!
---
First action: Used Reflega to reflect the physical damage of 66% powered-up Rupture Slash back at Kadaj.
Reflega: A defensive spell, a mirrored glass-like barrier forms around him, and puts him in a Counter status. If he is hit with any kind of damage which hurts him, it's reflected back at the opponent to do twice the damage, leaving the target(s) he cast it on undamaged until it does the previous action and wears off. Two-post cooldown.
Second action: Used Slide Dash after turning around to close the distance and attack.
Slide Dash: A offensive version of his Quick Run, he slides towards enemies to pull himself closer and slices at them with his keyblade. Cooldown: One post.

Power. What exactly did it mean? To be able to lift heavy objects or to rally the hearts of men? To inspire your friends or to defeat your enemies? Everybody was bound to have a different perspective over the definition of the word, and perhaps that itself was a form of power. To Kadaj? What did power mean? It didn't really mean anything. No words, no person, nothing was going to be holding the silver-haired youth back from doing whatever he wanted to do. If he wanted to grow in strength so he could crush his opposition, he would do so. If he wanted to taunt and provoke old enemies, he would do so. If he wanted to stop all this chaos and havoc and have a rest, he would do so. With that being said, perhaps the Remnant's definition of the word 'power' would mean 'freedom'. Free from the control of Sephiroth, free from JENOVA's voice inside his head. He was free to do whatever he chose to. But what of the brunette ahead of him. What was his definition of power? No doubt it would be his friendship or some rubbish the Keybarer may or may not have mentioned at a past encounter.
But was Sora free? Doubtful. He might think so, but he was not. So long as he held that Keyblade within his hands, so long as he continued to wield the strength that was given to him, he'd never be free. Sure, he could travel to and from the worlds as he saw fit, but it was always on business purposes. To find his friends? To fight the Heartless and push the Darkness back? The Key to Everything was not free. The silver-haired youth had tilted his head a fraction as he thought of such things, most bizarrely in the midst of battle. Perhaps it was here, in the heat of the moment, that he thought best. But such a question would have to wait to be answered another day. Today was a day of fun and a day of reunion. For the first time in a long time, the three Remnant brothers had been reunited and what better way to display their love for one another as all as the strength each of them carried within their bodies, then by winning the Tournament. What better statement, a warning, to give to all the worlds then by defeating the best the worlds had to offer?
Now THAT was a better thought to think about, one that caused a smirk to spread across the Remnant Leader's face as he returned to reality, the sounds of the audience reaching his ears once more as chants and cheers erupted all around him. Crouched down with his left arm held out to the side of his body, parallel to the ground, Souba held tightly within his grip, he listened to the sound of the explosion behind him. Flame and rock flew skywards as it sought to blast the Key to Everything into the skies, scorching his skin and clothing and battering him with the very earth itself. But something seemed amiss. At the start, he felt the twin-blades of his katana-like sword slash across the face of the brunette, but nothing seemed to happen afterwards. Due to the style of how Rupture Slash was unleashed, Kadaj knew he would be unable to move for a couple of seconds, almost as if he had to wait for his body to 'catch up', due to the speed he travelled. So, while he waited, he listened. Doing his best to cancel out the chants and roars of the gathered crowds, the silver-haired youth tried to listen in on what type of movements the Keybarer was making.
The only thing he heard though was the sound of an impact. Something struck his back, the leather covering his body creaking from the blow. It felt hot and the force was enough to shove him forwards. Leather boots skidded across the arena floor a couple of feet as silver hair blew before his face and eyes wildly, as if a wind had suddenly picked up from behind him. It only lasted a second, and as the Remnant glanced down at his knees, he noticed the red aura surrounding him grow brighter once more. His already increased defences had managed to shrug off the majority of that last attack, leaving only a few cuts in his attire and some light scratches upon his skin. By now, he felt the feeling of his body return to him, and after standing up and turning around, gave the Keybarer a somewhat baffled look as to what had just happened. How did he manage to get in an attack while being blasted into the air from the rupture of the ground? Unless he dodged the rupture... but how was that possible if he took the initial strike from his Souba? Questions arose at too great a rate for them to be answered, and sure enough, the brunette was already on the move again.
A light sigh escaped the lips of the leather-clad, silver-haired youth. He wasn't going to let his anger get out of control like it nearly did a few minutes ago. He had to wait for the perfect moment to lose his head, for it was the only known way Kadaj knew how to access his powers to their full potential. Sure, he had more to give as it currently stood, but raw anger and hatred was required to push him up to full strength. No, now wasn't the time. "COME ON SORA!!! WHY HOLD BACK!!" He suddenly shouted, his dangerous smirk returning across his face as his glowing turquoise eyes flashed ever brighter. Still feeling his body being effected from his mysterious red aura, the Remnant Leader flexed his knees and leaped into the air. Flipping his body in a half somersault so he landed behind the brunette, eyes upon his back, he gracefully evaded the forward lunge from the Keybarer. As soon as leather boots hit and skidded against the cold stone floor, Kadaj launched forwards with his Souba in a tight handed grip. Clasping both hands upon the tightly wrapped handle, the silver-haired youth swung the twin-bladed katana up from his left in a fast vertical slash, before swinging the blade up and over his own head, repeating the same attack from the other side of his body, slashing a second vertical strike to Sora's back from his right hand side. Aiming each blow for the center of Sora's back, Kadaj was not going to take any chances. His speed was already increased greater then last time, but this was the Key to Everything. No doubt he'd find a way to dodge his attack.
Thus, as soon as the second vertical slash had been executed, Kadaj released his right hand grip upon the handle of his Souba and promptly threw his right arm up into the air. A old attack surfacing, though with a small twist. Instead of the usual three flame pillars erupting, five shown up instead. Forming a pentagon shape wrapped tightly about the silver-haired youth, small lines of embers appeared out of thin air before Flame Pillar Level 2
[/b] erupted out of the ground and rocketed skywards, sending large swirling torrents of flame to the heavens. As before, each of the pillars rotated on the spot viciously and dared drag in whatever was too close into the middle of the swirling inferno and flame and fire. They only lasted a few seconds before burning up their fuel and dissipating slowly. Sharp, cat-like turquoise eyes watched the skies to see if the Keybarer had been sucked up and blown skywards. A massive cheer escaped from the audience, an attack of a large scale and big display finally being used. They seemed to like that tremendously. [/blockquote] -= Bad Breath[/b] has evaporated.=- -=Kadaj has a 100% increase to his speed, strength, magic defence and physical defence after taking damage from Thundaga, Blizzaga and Rupture Slash.=- ----- Decaslash[/b] - Ready to be used. Bad Breath[/b] - 5 Posts. <--- Putting this back on 5 Post cool down. Forgot about the 2 Post duration. Remnant Rage[/b] - 3 Post Duration Remaining. Rupture Slash[/b] - 2 Posts. Flame Pillar Level 2[/b] - 3 Posts. -- A fire elemental technique that requires a very short charge time to cast. Planting his feet onto the ground firmly to keep his balance, Kadaj throws his right arm up into the air over his head that will cause 5 massive pillars of flame to burst out of the ground around him in a triangle formation. Each of the pillars are 5 feet across and rocket about 30 feet into the air. They also rotate on the spot swiftly to cause a strong inward vacuum of air, sucking in any enemy or opponent standing nearby. Small fiery embers appear in a vertical line in the spots where the pillars will appear and the spell lasts for roughly 5 seconds before all the pillars burn up and extinguish themselves.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,480px,true][atrb=cellpadding,3px,true][atrb=cellspacing,3px,true][bg=939d8f] I've seen that frustration Been crossed and lost and told no
Of course Sora was free! It was a silly notion even to consider, but he was not one bound by fear or even duty. So many times he could have stayed behind in Traverse Town, given up and let Riku have the Kingdom Key, given up hope and dismissed the Kingdom Key to never have anyone use him to collect hearts again. But despite that he had fought on, and the underlying condition had been his heart wanted what it wanted and he was not in danger. Free to chose, and help his friends that were in danger. Even sitting on Destiny Islands after reading the letter he could have retired once and for all from being the 'Key to Everything' as he had come to be renouned for across the realms, but out of selflessness had chosen to go find these people and relieve them of their own sadness. As long as he followed his heart... he was always free.
The people who weren't free were those trapped; whether it was by fear, by pain, seperated by boundries because of other's selfless desires to care less how their actions deeply affected others. People like Kadaj were also free, free to go about unleashing destruction and hunting down to fight anyone they chose, but the people they trod on underfoot and had no choice but to lose hope in the light that guided them were trapped. Aqua had been trapped in the Realm of Darkness after a selfless act to save her friend, fearful she would never escape to see the light of day again, until Sora had helped her. Countless others like Beast and Simba were trapped because of self-burdens, or Ariel or Aladdin because they had dreams bigger than their world could allow them to be, it was for these kinds of people who wanted respect and acceptance that he bravely fought on for to keep the good in the worlds still alive for others to aspire by.
Choice had been taken away from their lives too, and fear was a big motivator for some to feel hindered by; but what about power? Power was fine for those who had it, either by earning it or to come by it, but what about the powerless? Countless friends of Sora's like Cloud, Leon and the others all came from worlds where they cound their own strength to counter the evils of their worlds, and others like Mulan and Jack just needed his friendship and support to help realize their wishes. But there were those that lead peaceful lives without such malice, like the Princesses and Pooh and friends, and who was going to protect them when they were met with others more advantaged while they were powerless? Everyone needed a hand every now and then, even Kadaj what with the help of some red angel woman that had helped him assault Beast's Castle, and Sora and his friends would not only be their to look out for those that could not stand for themselves but also help them find their own inner strength to shine. Even if that strength meant strength of character from the heart.
That was one of the first steps to standing up to someone like Kadaj, just finding that confidence within to say that they could do this, and even if they weren't successful to say at least they didn't run like a coward and they had no regrets with how they fought. Sora was one of these people, but fortunately for him he had much experiences in battles that he did not run from, at least only rarely just in order to re-group and figure out another way to beat a difficult foe or groups of foes. Sora looked to Kadaj, watching as the magical white splash of spinning cresents flew from his Reflega and struck Kadaj, despite the searing pain he felt on his face from the first strike. The silver-head had grown faster and stronger, and while Sora had the means to counter-attack with patient and confident techniques, it seemed like he was still able to payback the damage inflicted on him despite this.
The clone of Sephiroth skidded across the floor hap-hazardly as he was struck, silver hair flying about around his head, dust and granite being kicked up in the staggering slide. How was this other young man increasing his capabilities so, constanty? And that's when Sora saw it; the aura around Kadaj flashed brighter, and with Sora just having used Reflega, two and two clicked together in his mind. Kadaj must have been using his own kind of Reflega, but instead of deflecting damage he was gathering it and turning it into strength, speed and defenses. Well, that wasn't fair, how could Sora win if his damage was only making his opponent stronger? It very much seemed that way as the kid in the black body suit practically screamed at him, in a question of why Sora wasn't bringing on what he was keeping from him.
And faster he was to, for Sora watched for the instantaneous movement that was almost two-thirds quicker than what he was used to, becoming faster than what Sora's eyes could even register. It was turning out to be that Sora would have to not watch, but guess the moment the Souba-wielder was going to disappear so he could anticipate his reaction time, in time. How was one meant to defend against someone with such a insane action speed!? Unless... The thought didn't finish as Kadaj disappeared from his keyblade connecting with Sliding Dash, and suddenly two painful slashes were cut into his back, forcing Sora to first arch his back and then stagger forwards slightly. The spiky brown-haired young man turned around to defend himself, but by then his opponent had began another attack.
There was an ignition of flames as Sora was in mid-turn, pushing his feet into the sandy pavement below his feet, and with himself anchored there for the moment was the only thing keeping him from being whisked up into the flames before he pushed himself to run in the opposite direction. But this was not going to be enough; as the Flame Pillars seared on, the suction drew him in closer and closer. If nothing was done to increase his speed, Sora was going to end up like he did in Kadaj's first fight and be pinballed around the pillars to the top, and that was painful. At the last few seconds of the duration of the spell, when it looked like he was going to be sucked in and burned severely, Sora rolled forward in a powerful surge with Slide Roll. Red and golden sparks flew past him in a intense rapid motion, showing the power of this upgraded combat roll from his usual Dodge Roll technique. Sora came out of the roll as the inferno technique ended, the moment of invulnerbility while performing the roll having been the only thing that had protected his hide from being reduced to intense crispiness.
Braking free of the suction, he came out of the roll and skidded to a stop a few feet away of Kadaj, swiveling around to face him. Now he had broken hold of the vortex-like grip, he could have performed an attack on his opponent now he was momentarily immobile, but he did not. Instead, he pointed his Kingdom Key to the sky, casting more magic. This time, the soft green glow of curative magic covered him, Curaga helping to repair the damage of all the previous attacks. He was pretty sure the Remnant had his own curative magic he was going to use to match that spell, and he was even more sure he was going to use it too. And yet, he was unfazed; if anything he was pumped up and ecstatic about how he had barely dodged that last attack from the pure thrill of it, having an intense time. And maybe even a secretive smile from his lips that he was planning something, as he started to strafe around Kadaj again, shouting a "Holding back? I'm not sure you're ready for that just yet! What's the matter, getting tired? Angry? Or you want me to end this for you right now, so you can see how long you can last against what I've really got up my sleeve?" he jubilantly teased, having fun with the fact the mako-eyed menace was not seeing his true potential yet. Sounded like Sora had discovered something and had a plan... but what was it? Only time would tell!

First action: Used Slide Roll to escape the last few seconds of being sucked into Flame Pillar Level 2.
Slide Roll: An upgraded form of Dodge Roll, having leveled up from his Limit Form, Slide Roll allows Sora to dodge roll but to quickly do so in a farther distance than Dodge Roll can. Streaks of red, blue and golden light trail alongside him when he is rolling as a calling sign of this technique, looking like a meteor burning in the atmosphere while rolling. The farthest Sora can roll with this ability is about ten feet on average. If hit with an area attack or more than one person, Sora is momentarily invincible during the moment he is going into the roll, but vulnerable when he is coming out of it. He can otherwise dodge only one single offensive power/ability per post when it is used. Duration: One turn. Cooldown is one turn.
Second action: Used Curaga to heal himself greatly of the damage he has currently been inflicted with, but not all of it.
Curaga: A curative spell, Sora has to point his keyblade's tip skywards and selects a friendly target whether on the ground or in the air, recovering a great portion of their HP, and can even revive them from KO status. However like most of his -ga spells it takes up a lot of his energy, the more healing he needs to do the more energy it takes from him, and the spell can be interupted before it is complete. Three post cooldown.
On cooldown:
Reflega: One-post cooldown.
Slide Dash: Finished cooldown.

Kadaj still couldn't remove the smirk plastered across his face after hearing the roar the audience gave off after they were most pleased with such a large display of fire elemental magic. Why he found such a sound to be so thrilling with a question left dancing around within his mind without an answer trailing it. It just did, was all he could think of. It just did feel good. The hair on the backs of his arms and neck stood on end from the excitement. He was able to catch a glimpse of some of those standing in the front row closest to him, jump back in surprise. The women held a hand to their chests and gasps while the men threw their arms into the air and yelled out in unison with a thunderous 'YEAH!'. The Remnant was amazed he heard the crowds over the sound of the swirling torrents of flame that rocketed skywards about his position. Mako-infused eyes returned to the sky to watch the roaring flames twist and turn like the flames erupting out the end of a rocket engine. A pity the attack missed their intended target, Sora being a slippery one when it came to attacks that rooted the Remnant to the spot. No matter. It only added to the excitement of the battle.
With a leather covered arm remaining pointed to the sky as the flame surrounding it died down, Kadaj held the position a while longer before the creaking of leather signalled the lowering of his arm, which dropped to his right hand side. No attack followed on Sora's behalf, so the youth must have figure it out by now. Took him long enough, but it didn't matter. The red aura was still surrounding the silver-haired youth, even though it's brightness had faded down considerably. The increase to all his stats lowering back to their normal levels, as made evident by how much slower the Remnant Leader turned around to see where the Keybarer had gone too. He wasn't too far away, though he wasn't wasting his time standing and staring. A warm, heavenly glow had covered the Key to Everything and Kadaj frowned as he recognised the spell being cast. Seriously, he was curing himself? However, the frown turned to a smirk as he realised Sora was obviously hurt and worried he'd take further damage in his current state. So, was this Sora at his limit? Doubtful... it just didn't feel like he was giving his all yet, and probably wouldn't either.
If the Key to Everything used his full might and the Remnant Leader was able to take him down, how would that effect his reputation? All these people watching would see the truth then! No, he wasn't going to use his full might at all and that thought bothered the Remnant. Sure, this was only a tournament, a place to have fun for some, but it was also a place of trial for others. What was the point in entering this event if you weren't going to give everything you had in every battle? ..... Same thing could be said to me then I suppose. Kadaj thought to himself and frowned inwardly. If Sora wasn't going to use his full strength, then he didn't want to either. What if he did and it wasn't enough? What if Sora really was as powerful as the stories claimed? But this brat was as foolish as his weapon was... there is no way he was stronger then the Leader of the Remnants... No way! Though the healing capabilities of Curaga were telling another story. Kadaj wasn't out of breath nor lacking strength or stamina. Sure, he had wounds and injuries that hurt and were evident due to torn clothing and bleeding skin, but that was to be expected from entering a tournament. Injuries were bound to happen.
"You're the one getting tired, Keybarer. Only a coward, scared of his opponent, would heal himself mid-battle. You've obviously reached your limit." Kadaj sneered, tauntingly. He knew damn well that Sora was holding back, and it was infuriating to know such a thing. Why wasn't he giving his all yet? What was he waiting for? For the Remnant to burn himself out? Foolish. Utter foolishness. Well whatever, if he wants to lose his round due to not giving his all, that was his problem. Flexing his knees, Kadaj jumped backwards and landed softly upon his feet, pretty much in the center of the arena floor. Here, he slowly turned on his heels as he watched the brunette strafe around him. Always moving was smart, and perhaps something that should be used against him. Whirling around on the spot, the left arm of the Souba wielder suddenly brought the twin bladed weapon up, but instead of readying an attack, he instead stabbed the blade into the ground at his feet. The creaking of leather sounded constantly as Kadaj's left arm suddenly then shot forwards, electricity crackling about his fingertips as a powerful Thundaga thundered out of the silver-haired youth's palm, streaking across the arena to a spot ahead of the brunette Keybarer, which he'd run into and get struck if he continued his strafing action. A deafening clap of thunder silenced the audience for only a second, before their cheers and chants continued ever loudly.
Whether Sora skidded to a halt or jumped over the spell to evade the damage, Kadaj was ready, as seen by the haek-like stare in his eyes, watching and waiting to see what he'd do. Thrusting his right arm forwards a moment after his left, a sphere of Dark Energy manipulated itself a few inches from his outstretched fingertips before a pulse of pure Darkness blasted forth out of his fingers towards the Key to Everything in the form of a Kurai
[/b], another one of the Remnant's brand new tricks. Kurai's speed was extraordinary, quickly catching and overtaking the Thundaga if they were released at the same time. Formed from the Darkness surrounding the Remnant's own heart, it was a powerful attack, one that exploded in a large 25 foot radius blast whether it hit Sora, or if he miraculously dodged both attacks and the Kurai smashed into the magical shield surrounding the two warriors instead. Whatever happened, happened. Though Kadaj was not going to give up trying to force the Keybarer to release his full potential. Leather covered fingers found themselves wrapped about the handle of the Souba that was instantly tugged from the ground and brought up before the silver-haired Remnant. Flexing his knees the same time he furrowed his brows, Kadaj dashed forth after the Keybarer, wanting to get within melee range before he could move and open the gap once more. With his Rage still activated, would Sora risk attacking to strengthening the Remnant again? Kadaj then forms a ball of Dark Energy at the end of his fingertips that he can fire towards his opponent, creating a ‘beam-like energy blast’ that is thin in width and travels very quickly. Upon impact with either an opponent or a surrounding object, Kurai will explode violently in a large blast at least 25 foot across, inflicting Heavy damage to anyone stuck with a direct shot.
