The time between these events seemed to be growing shorter and shorter between themselves. Was it really that time of the year again for the Olympus Coliseum to open up it's gates to any and all warriors of both Light and Darkness? Great battles were going to be fought in this historic location once more. Rivalries were going to be born, old scores were going to be settled and the fans and civilians were going to get another chance in their lives to forget about everything bad that was happening in their own worlds. It wasn't like everyone from every world could just hop on the next Gummi Ship and head to the Golden Saucer or to the Blitzball Arena so they could have fun and forget about their troubles. It was considered 'meddling' for the Keybarers to travel from world to world, so what chaos would ensue if everyone were to do it? Genesis shook his head from side to side as he let a small chuckle escape his lips, mixed in with the unmistakable sound of a sigh. This was not the time to be worrying about such things. This was the time for him to prove to the world that he was still the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. Two times Genesis had left this Coliseum as the Champion and he had a chance to do so for a third time.
Sure, so I lost to Felix in the last Tournament, which I don't deny; He has grown far more powerful then I had expected, but from what I hear, both he and his opponent knocked each other out in their final match. A draw, which means they both lose. As far as that goes, that keeps me as the current Champion still. Genesis mused to himself in his thoughts as he paced across the lobby of the Coliseum, his leather boots crunching the sand underfoot as he walked up to the ranking poster of the most recent Tournament hanging from one of the walls. A soft and warm breeze blew through the pillar that supported the walls surrounding the lobby, which danced and twisted through the SOLDIER's hair as his bright blue eyes browsed the names of those who had entered the last Tournament. Selena 'Artemis' Wolfsong's name was jotted down, but it appeared she were unable to make it to the final bout. Though, the auburn-haired SOLDIER wondered if she only ever joined these Tournaments so she could get her revenge on the Crimson SOLDIER for defeating her the both times he rose to become Champion.
So it was certainly a cruel twist of the arm for the winged woman. This new Tournament was allegedly a 'team' effort. Three fighters to a team, everyone fighting a separate opponent to try and aid their team to advance through the ranking. It was a clever idea, certainly, but Genesis couldn't help but ponder about his choice of teammates. First was the ex-Turk from and member of both AVALANCHE and the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee, also from his own home world, Vincent Valentine. The two of them had only met on a couple of occasions and while very few words were shared, it was clear that they both knew a lot of each other, mostly through stories and reports mind you. Throughout the entire time Vincent was at Cloud's side fighting Sephiroth and out on his own taking apart Deepground, Genesis was biding his time in the Flooded Cavern. To get a chance to fight beside the man who single handedly took down Weiss was a once in a lifetime opportunity, one Genesis was not going to miss. The real concern was regarding his second team mate. Is this team really going to work with you at my side? I thought you'd rather have to chance to fight against me, not alongside me...
[/i] The Crimson Commander thought to himself as he ran the idea of teaming up with 'Artemis' herself through his mind. If they could put their differences aside for the time being, then everything would work out wonderfully. The time for both SOLDIER and Dark Keybarer to be at each others throats was not now. The voice of the goat-man Phil broke Genesis from his train of thoughts as he spoke up from the top of the stairs that lead into the waiting room to the arena. Trophies of previous victors were displayed here and as Phil yelled out to get everyone's attention, he started to announce the names of who was fighting who in their first match. The auburn-haired man heard his name called along with that of someone called 'Emblem'. A name he didn't recognize. So, new warriors were still coming to these worlds after their own homes had been swallowed by the Darkness? This would be interesting indeed. Stepping forth, his long crimson coat starting to drag behind him slightly through the breeze, Genesis made his way into the trophy room and straight through into the arena. The audience greeted him with roars and chants of both excitement and admiration. Of course, he was their Champion. The SOLDIER 1st Class entered this Tournaments to provide a source of entertainment for the fans who had come to watch. The noise the crowd made sent a shiver of excitement down his spine as he turned and raised his right arm to acknowledge those who had come to see him fight, which only caused them to chant and support him ever louder. Walking up onto the raised fighting area, Genesis raised his right arm up and clenched his fingers about an imaginary object. A second later and his infamous Rapier was summoned into his grip as it appeared by manifesting itself through flames that set light from the very air itself. Raising the blade up vertically, Genesis held the weapon before his forehead and closed his eyes for a second, muttering a few words of LOVELESS to himself under his breath before lowering the blade down to his side, waiting for 'Emblem' to reveal himself. He didn't care who his opponent was. No one as going to stop him from reclaiming his Title of Champion on this day. [/blockquote]

Emblem didn't really spare much extra thoughts towards the details. Simple, concise answers that addressed the "so what" was all that she needed in this scenario; a war game. Coliseums, cheering fans, and apparently a world where the gods were very much in tune with the mortal world. The sage form of the enigmatic being appreciated being in such a rare find within the modern world...
...were it not for the fact that she couldn't spend her time exploring. Instead, one of her other sides had shanghai'd herself into a team fight tournament for entertainment. Alcadeius Emblem was a strategist and tactician, not a muscle driven meathead like the rest of this world. She wouldn't win such a contest outright, especially given her opponent. Told before hand by the main host, her opponent was some fanatical guy named Genesis. A seasoned veteran to these fights. Something that perhaps rubbed off the purple haired vixen the wrong way, as she made her way into the arena with a silk fan covering most of her face aside from the radiant amber eyes. Eyes that held the mastery of a woman's ability to hide their intent within sly temptations and carefully woven webs of deceit. Partially the reason she was confident in this battle.
She came into view and blinked rather slowly towards her opponent's dramatic gesture. A soft giggle escaped her pale lips, as two pillars spawned behind her from the earthen battlefield. Parallel to each other, they created a photon doorway of sorts that illuminated the backside of the crimson garbed sage; still coyly eyeing out her rather dashing opponent. This, without a doubt, was her opponent...
"Genesis Rhapsodos correct? Ara ara~ Such an impressive display you give for your fans~!" the magi complimented, giggling a bit more as she stood before her gateway. "They simply would not stop talking about you, even in the waiting area Mr. Rhapsodos~"
Yes. He was as impressive as Felix had said. The grim look he had sent a bit of sadistical pleasure down her unmentionables, but Radiant Garden's mercenary and constant partner to her adventures had a lot to say. In pretty good detail as well, as he recalled his battle against this very man in a previous bout. A fight that made the normally casual paced gentleman talk seriously for over five minutes was nothing short but a gold mine for the tactician. Human intel was, after all, one of the greater sources towards seizing victory within a war. Though her team was separated in the fight, there were other ways to aid one another!
She would thank him later, for it was because of his advice that brought upon the first move to the clash between favored veteran and mysterious newcomer! Magical force leaked out into the area, revealing the power this student of the arcane magicks held inside such a tiny body. Magic that gave life to the very words she spoke, crafted by light and spiraling about the speaker's position.
"Whenever I speak the truth, I will speak in red" Emblem began, following it up with the second portion of the spell that bathed the coliseum in a red light.
"The walls of this ampitheater housed an inaugural gladiator game between heroes."
Emblem's last words were exactly as she spoke earlier, red. They spun and sunk into the ground, releasing a malevolent aura into field that was as present as the miasma spreads within the earthen caverns. Even in this less than adequate body, she felt invigorated with an adrenaline rush. Something that called for a different pace in her mind, now that part one of her plan was in motion.
The woman back pedaled into the doorway of light immediately behind her, fading from existence to the eye from a forward perspective. What emerged on the other side, and still hidden from view for now, was a woman dressed in very differently. Her hair neatly placed in two pigtails, and decorated with a victorian age sword dress. She opted to face the man as a fellow sword bearer; as the Chevalier d'Eon. -----------------------------
Gates of Deus: An ability all forms are capable of using. Originally a technique for Alcadeius to use, this is a dual method technique. By performing an action of sorts, a gate with light drawn patterns spawns in front of Emblem. Emblem, after traversing the gateway, is capable of switching into one of her different forms. The doorway of energy dissipates after the user crosses it and goes into cooldown.
Emblem also utilizes this to traverse between different worlds. The change aspect still applies. [Cooldown]: 2 posts
- Utilized the gates to transform to Chevalier d'Eon!
Red Truth: A subjective fact that is stated without any need for proof or need for investigation in order to support the claims. It is undeniable as a truth, but the subjective nature leaves the statement open to interpretation. Not only that, but the statement must be of an occurrence happening in the given situation. Alcadeius cannot conjure a statement to spawn anything out of thin air. There must be a logic to the statement, even if it is miniscule in scale. When a red truth is stated, it cannot be reversed nor countered by a conflicting statement. This will cause an error in logic and for the spell to backfire on the user, dealing heavy non-elemental damage.
Systematically, the red truth will exploit the terrain or a given aspect of her target. The words spoken will take effect immediately and usually create a miracle of some sort through altercation of properties or aspects of the given target. All red truths will appear in red to the naked eye.
Ex. Kuja is capable of gliding and flying at will using magical force. Alcadeius can deny him that skill for one turn by declaring, "Kuja did not have the means to initiate the act of flight" within the Land of Dragons, thus removing his ability to fly for one turn. This is a solid use because no person in the Land of Dragons naturally has the ability to fly like that without the use of wings. Kuja would be inflicted with a force of gravity invoked by the ethereal red words upon contact.
There are rules in which Alcadeius must follow when using the Red Truth:
- It cannot be used to forcibly seize control of enemy attacks and placed under Alcadeius's control. (ex. Cannot state in red, "I seized control of the Thundara spell and redirected it back to the caster!")
- It is forbidden to use the red text to directly verify the existence of something supernatural. (ex. I cannot use this to confirm whether it was possible to launch a magical spell from one's hands, in hopes to negate the attack. Or to use it to confirm super-human speed movement.)
- It cannot use proper names of spells. (ex. Thundaga would be described as 'lightning bolts.')
- It cannot directly impose a 'dead end' situation for just one side. (ex. While in a castle room, Alcadeius cannot declare that all rooms, windows, and doors sealed and unable to be open.)
- The result must, to a degree dictated by the admin, follow the laws of reality. (ex. Alcadeius cannot declare that a sudden removal of oxygen can occur unless the scenario in which it was possible for that result is present; such as being caved in, stuck within a vacuum motion, etc.)
- The red truth must be capable of having multiple interpretations. (ex. No one is hiding)
- The red truth cannot create without a source. It can only state and define a subjective fact derived from what is present. (ex. I cannot declare that it is stormy and pouring rain if the skies are clear. I can impose a magical lock that states the lock upon a chest cannot be opened without a key.)
[Cooldown]: 2 post
Emblem has declared the area of Olympus Coliseum as the site for a battle of heroes! Battle on with the skill of your physical prowess and the tenacity of your endurance! Fail or cheat, and face the wrath of Zeus's almighty punishment! [Duration]: 2 posts (ability and duration reviewed and accepted by Terranort.)
- Systematic Effect: For two posts, any who are within the battlefield of Olympus Coliseum is placed under the battle of 'heroes.' Much like the war games of Caesar's time, physical fighting and aptitude is of greater value; dealing +1 damage level on connecting. This comes at a price though.
Nothing that did not exist within the world of Olympus and was accessible to the mortal heroes can be used. This includes magic based skills/spells of any sort, self-attempted flight measures (ex. Icarus Wings, without a mystical pet), futuristic weaponry (ex. pulse weapons, guns, energy swords), creatures that did not exist in that world (ex. Dragons that are not within the Hydra family, gothic demons, etc.), etc. One may break the pact between heroes, but not without a price. They will take unavoidable medium damage per infraction, courtesy of a lightning bolt from the big man himself.
If more questions appear, first ask yourself: Did Hercules use it during his time in life?

This Tournament was going to be extraordinary. You could tell just from the roars and cheers the crowds alone were giving off. They were excited to be here, to see the warriors come and fight for fame and glory, to have fun and forget about their troubles. Each chant, each time they shouted out their favourite contestants name, the arena shook. Each time they stamped their feet upon the stands and clapped their hands in unison, it added fuel to the fire. Added to the pot of desire. Genesis loved this feeling the fans gave him and he hoped, to his opponent as well. If they were encouraged to fight their hardest then he would do so in reply. It just wouldn't be fun if you weren't going to try your best in every round. With that thought in mind, the crimson glove about the fingers of the Crimson Commander's right hand tightened about the grip of his decorative Rapier. The long crimson blade an extension of his body that seemed just as calm and relaxed as the man who held it.
Glowing blue eyes watched the figure of his opponent emerge and enter the arena. She was a lot smaller then what the SOLDIER First Class had been expecting, more so however, so hardly looked the type who should actually be entering such a competitive and often dangerous event such as this. Some of the other warriors that the auburn-haired man had fought against in past Tournaments, were very powerful people and usually, their desire to win often lead them into serious battles, regardless of the tournaments usually being held just for fun. Sure, a sack of Munny was waiting for you at the end as well as being claimed the 'Champion' of the Arena, a title that the SOLDIER First Class had held twice in a row. It was obvious why he was entering this time; He wanted his title back. But this young woman? Who knew? Genesis had fought adversaries in the past who were very surprising with their durability and with their attacks and spells. Never judge a book by it's cover, as they say, a saying the SOLDIER was certainly going to listen to in this match.
"Your words honour me, friend." Genesis spoke, his voice as calm as his facial features as his bright blue eyes flicked back and forth between Emblem herself and the odd portal she had created behind her. A soft smile spread across his lips as he thought about what his opponent just said. People were talking about him huh? More then not, it was about ways to defeat him in combat, perhaps past defeated opponents sharing battles strategies. The thought was amusing enough to cause the SOLDIER First Class to chuckle, to which he hid away by bringing up his left hand, fingers relaxed as he pressed against his forehead for a second, swiping his hand to the left a moment later to brush away a few strands of his auburn hair. "It is challenge for me to both provide entertainment for those who come to watch me compete, as well as to fight my way up through the ranks to the Final match. Of course, the latter is impossible to decide. I know nothing about you or how you fight, so it'll be a learning experience. I am looking forward to it!" His tone clearly grew more excited the more he spoke, his smile widening to prove it, but it was only his smile. The rest of his body didn't move, standing motionless as his eyes watched Emblem and waited to see what she was going to do. The SOLDIER First Class was ready to fight. Was his opponent? Possibly, if that portal was her weapon...
She spoke up again, this time the very light covering the arena turning a shade of red as she did so. A spell, huh? So she was a magic caster over a physical fighter? Strangely, the words she spoke appeared within the air and swirled around before sinking into the floor, the light about the world returning to normal a few moments later. What just happened? Genesis took a moment to look about himself, over his shoulders, through the crowds whom appeared just as confused as he did. What was it Emblem had spoke? Everything she says that's true will be coloured red? How very weird... He had no idea what this spell did, if it even was a spell to start with. The summoning of her portal-like object behind her must have been caused by magic though... Well, whatever. The only way to find out would be to start fighting her and seeing what happens. Speaking of seeing what happens, the petite woman before him backed off, vanishing into the portal behind her before someone complete different emerged in her place. Transformations huh? Naminé did that when I fought her... The SOLDIER First Class thought, his expression hardly changing as he looked upon a new figure now, one that looked much more suited to physical combat, as evident by the sword in her hand.
"Transformation, huh? Interesting, but not surprising. I've seen this before." Genesis said, his soft smiling turning to a smirk as he now raised his Rapier up to chest height, pointing the tip of the blade out in Emblem's direction. Shifting his feet, sliding one forth and the other behind, the SOLDIER begun slowly lowering himself down till his knees were flexed, at which point, he suddenly sprang forth and sprinted across the arena towards his opponent. It only took a couple of strides and even less time to reach her, upon which the SOLDIER unleashed the opening attack; Dancing Sword
[/b]. Six attacks were sent Emblem's way; Two vicious downward diagonal slashes, right to left then left to right, followed by three forward thrusts, aimed at chest, stomach then right thigh, topped off with Genesis leaping into the air and thrusting his Rapier down into the ground, which released a shockwave upon impact that would potentially blast his opponent away should she not block, dodge or jump. Lets see what she was made of~! [/blockquote] ----- Cooldowns Dancing Sword[/b] - 2 Posts -- Six strong Rapier attacks with a shockwave blast upon the final swing. 2 diagonal slashes, 3 thrusts finished with a leap and ground stab.
